what goes hard- rafayel (not like that, although yes like that, but not right now, bc im still thinking of oceanic nightfall)-
falling back into various poor coping mechanisms he used when he was more alone because being partners with mc doesnt mean he'll stop being lonely especially whenever mc has to be away and hes still spent centuries longer facing all kinds of isolation despite other company available or welcomed (humans he didnt want to / couldnt befriend, lemurians he loves but could still be aloof to).
his comfortability being real but also as gradual as the love and with a part of him remaining somewhat resigned to the possibility of losing his happiness again one way or another (abt both mc & other things/people), some of this communicated blithely because vulnerability can still be scary, and if someone doesnt see past his half-assed acts / occasional testingly ambiguous phrases (and instead maybe sees him as some fickle failure or burden or w/e) then thats totally their fault,
except mc almost always understands and calls him out, calls him annoying or whatever whenever right to his face unlike most other people bc mc is like that with anyone/anything and he loves that about mc, needs that, as much as he does for mc's assurances in times even hes unsure about himself.
the sea god's first love was a more equally lonely person but got remade into someone who knows what it's like to care and be cared for and in that they still achieve a balance—not mc "fixing" him, but being an anchor and a reason for him to hold onto other anchors too and be mc's in turn instead of going the convenient route of accidentally/semi-accidentally letting others define what he does or feels he has to for the dozenth time.
rafayel (seeming so composed n sure of himself & a lot of things most of the time abt the major things) messing up sometimes in ways that are major without quite being a matter of life or death anymore, and rafayel resting.
#glubabbles#mc saying his name to activate the bond compulsion thing but whenever not for trivial things like meowing it's to help him snap out of#bad states or be like ''hear me. what do you really want to do? you remember. dont you want us to stay honest'' and#if he doesnt say ideal things or is unsure then they try all kinds of things out together. the way he cheers mc up with beach strolls or#origami n praise or presence etc mc tries with games and mc's own gifts and holding him and reciting times where he seemed happiest etc#until he feels dumb for ever doubting he knew who he is anymore or what matters. bc most of the time he does more plainly#resent human rich ppl/fan norms and achieve authenticity! passionately. it's like just#if mc is away it feels almost fresh again. restarting life bc. in the past mc's absence/rebirth also meant his own even if not simultaneous#y or the exact same way#and they can/do work on learning how to be healthier together i just aughhhh#ooOOoOOOohHH IM MENTALLY IIIIILLLL

"Really?" Toji asks, nudging your shoulder to wake you up, when he gets a good look at your back turned to him. His voice is slightly raspy with sleep, low in volume from its lack of use.
"Mm..." you hum in response, eyes shut as you try to ease back into slumber. You're in a curled position, your limbs wrapped around one of your extra pillows.
"Really?" Toji repeats, pawing at your shoulder, again.
"Yes, Toji," you say, quietly, not understanding what he's talking about, but agreeing just so that you can get back to sleep.
"Be serious, ma. Really?"
"What?" You ask, your tone somewhat laced with irritation, now.
It goes quiet for a few seconds, and then out of nowhere you hear the sheets rustling and the bed feels lighter. You're thinking there's no way he's so upset that he's leaving the room to sleep on the couch. He's the one who seemingly didn't want to cuddle, so you made do with what you had and grabbed a pillow.
You're snapped out of your attempt to go back to sleep when you feel your pillow trying to be yanked out of your arms.
"Let go of it," Toji mutters.
"What-" you grunt as you pull back and attempt to keep the pillow in your grasp. "What are you doing? Get back in bed, Toji." You hold on as tight as you can to the pillow that is slowly being torn out of your hands. "You're not gonna like when I let go and you're flung towards the wall."
"And you're not gonna like the punishment you earn if that happens. Let go of the pillow. Now."
You stare Toji down, holding your own against him. You know this isn't all of his strength and that he can easily rip the pillow out of your clutches, if he really wanted to, but like a dog with something it shouldn't have in its mouth, you're unwilling to do what he says.
"Listen up, doll, if you don't let go in the next five seconds, you're in for it."
"You're the one who pushed me away."
"Five."
"I need to hug something to sleep comfortably."
"Four."
"It's a pillow, Toji," you say, incredulously.
"Three."
"You're gonna take away my source of comfort?"
"Two."
"Toji."
"One. Let go."
"Oh my god," you groan, irritatedly. "Fine." You release the pillow, allowing Toji to take it away. You watch in disbelief as he throws it at the door so you can't get it without leaving the bed. You huff and scoot as close as you comfortably can to your end of the bed without falling off, before he returns to his side.
"Geeet back here." An arm is thrown over your waist, dragging you closer towards the center of the bed, until your back meets his front and his legs are tangled with yours. "Where are you going, huh? Still chasing after that pillow?"
"All of a sudden you wanna be close to me?" You scoff, in disbelief.
"So much attitude," he murmurs. His hand goes under your shirt, gliding up your warm skin to rest on your tummy. "Need me to give it to you all seven days, now?"
"No," you grumble.
"Well, that's what it's sounding like, to me." A kiss is planted on your shoulder. "Fix that tone, mama."
"You're so unfair. You're the one who didn't want to be held, but as soon as you noticed that I wasn't holding you, you took away my source of comfort. What did you want me to do, Toji?"
"I didn't even push you away, I rolled away in my sleep. It doesn't count."
You just hum in response, no longer in the mood to bicker about something so trivial when you could be working on getting back to sleep. A few seconds of silence go by, a spark of tension formed due to your lack of words.
"Ma?" He calls, barely pinching your soft, warm skin.
You sigh, blinking your eyes open. "What?"
"You mad?" His hand flattens on your tummy, rubbing slowly, as he waits for you to respond.
"No," you say, quiet and icy, even in its subtlety.
"That's a lie," Toji says, chuckling. "Come on, doll. What's got you all hot?"
It's hard not to melt into his touch. The kisses he presses to your shoulder only add on to the difficulty.
"Doesn't matter," you say, still trying to remain stoic.
"Yeah, it does. Now, tell me," he insists. "You're really gonna make me beg at almost two in the morning?"
"I was sleeping, and you woke me up 'cause you were butthurt over me hugging a pillow. There. Does that satisfy you?" You respond, and Toji has the audacity to laugh. You want to laugh too, but your stubbornness and pride will not easily allow you to.
"Poor baby," he coos, a mocking lilt to his tone. "You wanna tell me how to make it better?"
"You're an ass," you bite, no sharpness in your tone whatsoever.
"Ooh, I can hear that pout. You want a kiss? 'Cause I can give you one," he whispers, in your ear.
"Shut up," you mumble, trying not to give away the curling of your lips.
"You want a baby in here?" He asks, gently pressing into your stomach with his index finger.
"No! What?" You say, your giggles finally beginning to surface.
"Gotcha. Made you laugh," he says, pressing his face into the nape of your neck. He presses a kiss to the area before squeezing you in his arms, tight enough to make you groan until he eases up. "Now, tell me how to make it better. Come on, ma. It's not good to go to sleep mad."
You sigh, not wanting to argue with this annoying, yet, charming man, anymore. "Just help me get back to sleep," you mumble.
"Oh, I can do that," he says, a low chuckle homing into your ears. His hand lifts your shirt up more, aiming to get more access to your chest.
"Not like that, you perv!" You chide, pinning his hand on your mid-center. "Can you do that thing you always do?" You guide his hand down, until it rests just above your navel. He knows what you mean, and if this is what it takes for you to not be mad at him, he'll do it.
"You're like a baby that needs to be soothed to sleep," Toji murmurs, as he begins caressing your tummy, drawing little shapes on your skin that fuel your tiredness.
You huff out a laugh. "Acting like you don't drool and snore the second I start playing with your hair when you lay your head on my chest."

wreckage - charles leclerc
୨ৎ : pairing : charles leclerc x wife!reader ୨ৎ : synopsis : after a heated argument with charles, you watch in horror as his car crashes during a race
୨ৎ : genre : angst ୨ৎ : tws : car accident/injury, arguments/conflict, anxiety/panic, trauma, medical trauma. ୨ৎ : wc : 1318
part one | part two | part three | part four
They say life can change in the blink of an eye. One second, everything feels steady, solid, like the ground beneath your feet couldn’t possibly give way. And then it does. Maybe that’s the irony of it all—you never see it coming. Not really. You think you’re prepared, think you’ve braced yourself, but you’re never quite ready for the moment it all falls apart.
You fought this morning. Not just a little spat about something trivial—no, this was one of those fights that echoed louder than it should have. The kind that lingered, thick in the air, leaving a bitter taste in your mouth even hours later.
It wasn’t about anything catastrophic, either, but somehow, with Charles, the small things had a way of snowballing. His schedule. Your schedule. The time you didn’t have together. The things he didn’t say and the things you did.
“I’m trying, okay? You think it’s easy for me?” he’d snapped, his accent sharpening the edges of his words. “You know what this life is like.”
“Yeah, Charles, I do. But I also know you don’t get to use it as an excuse every single time something gets hard. I’m here, too, and I’m trying to make this work just as much as you are.”
His jaw had tightened, his gaze flickering to the ground before meeting yours again. “Sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, it’s never enough for you.”
You’d felt the sting of those words, like a slap across the face. But you weren’t one to back down, not even when the weight of his frustration pressed heavy on your chest.
“You don’t get to say that to me, not when I’m the one waiting, worrying, wondering if this is ever going to feel… stable. Do you know how hard it is to love someone who’s never really here?”
The silence that followed was deafening, his features a mix of hurt and anger, like he didn’t know which to lean into more. And then he’d said it.
“Maybe it’s hard because you don’t trust me enough to believe that I’m doing my best.”
You hadn’t answered, and maybe that was the problem. The fight ended there, not because either of you wanted it to but because there was no time to fix it. Not when he had a race to prepare for, and you had to pretend like none of this was tearing you apart from the inside out.
When you arrived at the paddock, it felt impossible to mask the weight of the argument. You greeted a few people with forced smiles, but you could see some of them watching you a little too closely. It didn’t help that Charles seemed just as tense, his jaw set and his usual ease nowhere to be found.
Carlos was the first to pull you aside, his brown eyes narrowing slightly as he leaned closer. “¿Qué pasa, eh? You look like someone stole your churros, and Charles… well, he looks worse. What happened?”
“Nothing,” you said quickly, shaking your head. “It’s fine.”
Carlos raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. “Amiga, por favor. I know you, and I know him. Whatever this is, it’s not nothing.”
You sighed, glancing over your shoulder where Charles was talking to his engineers. “We just… had a fight this morning. It’s not a big deal.”
Carlos gave you a skeptical look. “Not a big deal? You’re both walking around like someone cancelled Christmas. If you’re not okay, neither is he. You should talk to him before the race.”
You hesitated, the memory of this morning’s argument still fresh in your mind. “I don’t want to distract him. He needs to focus.”
Carlos clicked his tongue, shaking his head with a small smile. “Tch. If you think he’s focusing now, you’re wrong. You being upset is a bigger distraction than anything else. Go.”
Reluctantly, you nodded and made your way toward Charles. He was still in deep conversation with one of his engineers, but when he saw you approaching, his expression softened—just slightly.
“Hey,” you said quietly, folding your arms across your chest.
“Hey,” he replied, his voice lower than usual. There was a pause, the tension between you lingering like a storm cloud.
“Good luck out there,” you finally said, your voice steadier than you felt. “I mean it. Be safe.”
Charles studied you for a moment, his green eyes searching yours. Then he nodded. “And… I’m sorry. For earlier.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but before you could, someone called for him, signaling it was time to get ready. He gave you one last look, then turned and walked away, leaving you standing there with words unsaid.
The race began, and for a while, the roar of engines and the blur of cars distracted you. Charles was in good form, holding his position, making clean overtakes. You found yourself exhaling with relief every time his car flashed across the screen.
But then it happened.
It was almost too fast to comprehend. One moment, Charles was rounding a corner, perfectly in control. The next, there was smoke, debris, and the sickening crunch of metal against metal.
Your heart stopped.
The commentators’ voices rose in panic, their words a jumbled mess that barely registered in your mind. “Oh no, that’s Leclerc… that’s a big one.”
Everything else faded—the noise of the crowd, the hum of your thoughts—until all that remained was the image of his car, mangled and still.
“Red flag,” one of them said, and that’s when it hit you. They’d stopped the race. It was bad.
Your hands trembled as you gripped the edge of the table, your breath coming in shallow, uneven gasps. This wasn’t happening. It couldn’t be happening.
The minutes crawled by like hours, every second another layer of dread settling in your chest. You kept your eyes glued to the screen, desperate for any sign, any update, anything to tell you he was okay.
When they finally cut to the scene, you saw the medics surrounding his car, moving quickly but carefully.
“He’s conscious,” one of the commentators said, and you felt a rush of air leave your lungs, but it wasn’t enough. Not until you saw him. Not until you heard him.
You thought back to the fight, to the last thing he said to you, and it made you sick to your stomach. This couldn’t be the last memory you had of him, the last words you exchanged. It couldn’t.
You were already reaching for your phone, dialing his team, someone, anyone who could give you more than the vague reassurance of the broadcast.
“Please,” you whispered, the word barely audible over the pounding of your heart. “Please let him be okay.”
It’s strange, how quickly everything can unravel. You think you’ve got it all figured out, that the argument was just another bump in the road. But in the back of your mind, there’s always that voice whispering, telling you that things might never be the same.
And now, with every second that ticks by, your thoughts spiral, faster and faster, until you can’t breathe. What if this is it? What if those were the last words you ever said to him?
You close your eyes, trying to steady yourself, but all you can see is that image of his car, broken and still. Your pulse races. You told him you loved him today, but did he really hear you? Was he ever truly certain, or was that last moment of tension, the words left unsaid, enough to make him doubt everything?
You hate this. You hate the fear gnawing at you. You hate that you're sitting here, helpless, as he’s out there fighting for his life. That feeling of powerlessness—it’s unbearable.
Please, you think again, clutching the phone like it’s the only thing tethering you to reality. Please, don’t let this be the end.

“could you be seen with me and still act proud?”
➢ Jing Yuan, Argenti, Aventurine, Dan Heng, Blade, Xiao, Childe, Wanderer, Zhongli
➢ Star Rail / Genshin x [GN] Reader
➥ (their answer + reaction to this question)
➥ (comfort / fluff)
✧ - JING YUAN
“Why, of course. I would hold your hand up for the whole of the Xianzhou to see.”
This was pretty expected of the sly general. However, what was unexpected was the way he took you in his arms and lifted you up—bridal style. You begged him to put you down as he opened the doors of his and your room, now making his way outside to remind the whole Xianzhou that you're his and he's yours.
✧ - ARGENTI
“Dearest love—of course, I would be so proud to have the chance to take the hand of mortal beauty itself, and, if it were chivalrous, I would boast about your beauty everywhere I go.”
Ever so poetic, Argenti pulls your heart strings again with his creative (yet cheesy) lines. He loves you; that's a fact that nobody can deny, and he believes that you were sent down by Idrila herself with how attractive you are. Without a hesitant thought, he backs away and offers you his hand—will you accept the offer in which he takes you from place to place, hand in hand, to show the whole world that your his love?
✧ - AVENTURINE
“You wanna take a bet? Here, I'll take you out to dinner if you guess my answer correctly—get it wrong, and I decide on what I'll do with you.”
With a wink and a smile turning into a smirk, it's always hard to guess what Aventurine is thinking, but with the clock ticking, you hardly get time to really think, and so you curiously answer with “no.” A smile grows on his face, and he leans in close, holding your arms. He whispers in your ear, “I guess that means you have to do what I tell you tonight.”
✧ - DAN HENG
“Of course. I do... I do love you, after all.”
His sentences are kept short and simple (with a little bit of blush), just like how they always are. Now, unlike most people on this list, he isn't bringing you outside to let the world know that you're dating, but he would feel and does absolutely feel proud to have you as his love. He reassures you that he would never feel embarrassed or feel the need to hide his love for you, no matter the crowd he's surrounded by.
✧ - BLADE
“Yes. Nobody's taking you, and nobody's taking me. Everyone had better know that you're mine, and the same goes for me.”
His response was rather threatening, but that's typical with Blade. His words are as sharp as his sword, but they're also as meaningful as sharp; his intent is nowhere near ill towards you, and he only means that he's dedicated himself to you already, and it's a dedication that he would never feel embarrassed or guilty for. Now, take his hand—he'll promise the world that you're his tonight.
✧ - XIAO
“Yes. Why wouldn't I be?”
In Adeptus Xiao language, he means, “yes, of course I would. Archons, holding your hand is a blessing itself.” And, though he doesn't admit it, he still feels it. You are his first and only love in several millennia. You, of every person to ever set foot in Liyue, managed to capture his heart when nobody else could. Xiao loves you, and he feels that he will forever, so he prays you'd banish him if he ever hurts you or hides his love away for something trivial because that means the karma got to him and that he's gone mad.
✧ - CHILDE
“Of course, babe! You know what? Let's go on a date right now— everything's on me!”
And that's simply Childe. Without a word, he disappears and reappears with your favorite outfit in hand, and has you put it on (in private as he waits outside the bedroom door), and when you're done, he's suddenly dressed nicely with roses in hand, and he takes you out on a date. How? No clue, but know that he's letting the whole region know that you're his right here and right now.
✧ - WANDERER
“Huh? That's a stupid question. Why are you asking me, anyway?”
Yes. He means yes in every way possible. His sharp tongue speaks the opposite, but Wanderer truly means that he would show you off to the world if he had to. If he has to, mainly because he finds the concept of love in its entirety as stupid, but he also loves you too much to let you leave him, let alone have someone else think that you're some vacant partner just waiting to be taken. Now, hold both of his hands. He'll glide you above Sumeru City and show everyone there that you're his if you're still thinking about the question.
✧ - ZHONGLI
“Well, of course. Would you like to take a walk around the harbor for me to prove that?”
Zhongli senses your insecurity, and he wishes to alleviate your worries, so he takes you to a popular teahouse by a bridge. It's not that grand or special, but he keeps you close to him as you both sip away at your tea and embrace the company of one another.
yes, this was a heathers reference.

Moth to a Flame
Pairing: General Acacius x female reader
Word Count: 645
Summary: You never want to disturb the General but for him, nothing is more important than you.
Author's Note: I love the idea of the big, bad general being a softie for his woman. Just a little something because I missed him. Thank you all so much for reading! Much love always! ❤️❤️❤️Divider by the lovely @firefly-graphics thank you Daisy! 😘
Warnings: sweet and soft fluffs
The General sits at the edge of the fire, the dancing flames softening the hard expression on his face. He listens with a steady calmness. Unmoving and stoic.
The warmth from the burning wood washes over your skin as you step closer. He hasn’t seen you yet and you hesitate, knowing you shouldn’t be disturbing him over something so trivial.
But as if he senses your presence he turns his head, and his dark brown eyes sweep over you from head to toe. Your own eyes go wide, and you instantly look down to fidget with the fabric of your gown.
He stands and his broad shoulders block out most of the firelight, shrouding you in shadow.
“My lady?” he asks, his brow furrowed with concern.
“General. I’m sorry to disturb you…I…”
You feel the eyes of all the other men fixed on you and your words falter.
The General turns, his cloak swirling at his feet in a flurry of dense fabric and dismisses them with a wave of his hand and a grunted command.
“Leave us. Now!”
They all scramble to their feet and rush off, none daring a backwards glance.
“Come here my love.”
He calls you over softly and you move toward him, your chin still tucked.
“I’m sorry General.”
His warm and calloused fingers press under your chin, and he lifts your eyes to his. At the tremble in your lips and the shine in your eyes he suddenly sweeps you into his arms and sits back by the fire, holding you in his lap when he asks, “are you hurt?”
“It’s nothing…just a small burn from the oil lamp.”
“Let me see,” he says gruffly.
You slide your hand along his chest and turn it over, showing him the red skin.
“It’s doesn’t look like nothing,” he whispers, lifting it to his lips and pressing a delicate kiss there.
Without another word he stands, tucking you into his side as he brings you back to his quarters. Once there, he instructs you to sit on the edge of the bed and retrieves a clean cloth, wetting it with cool water.
He gently wraps it around your hand and presses it against your hot skin.
“Look at me,” he says and waits until your eyes are on his. “You never have to apologize for being where I am.”
You stare at him.
“Understand my beloved?”
“Yes,” you whisper.
He still has your hand cradled in his and he takes it and presses it to his chest, the armor solid and unyielding beneath your palm. Even so, you can feel the steady beat of his heart.
“Does it still hurt?” he asks as he dips his head, his eyes falling to your lips for the tiniest beat.
You shake your head no and he smiles before his nose brushes yours and his eyes close. You try to keep your eyes open but at the soft press of his lips you can’t stop the way they flutter closed, and the breath leaves your lungs in a soft sigh.
He kisses you once, just at touch, and then again, groaning as your hands slide up and into his hair. His lips move across your jaw and down your neck and he loosens the material at your shoulder, exposing your bare skin.
You feel every point of contact and a kiss that’s meant to be soft and sweet quickly turns heated and frantic.
With a shaky breath he pulls away.
“Promise me,” he murmurs as he holds you close, tight to his body, in just the way he knows you want.
His thumb moves down to press against your throat with just enough pressure to let you know you he has you.
“Promise me you’ll always come to me. No matter what.”
“I promise,” you whisper, swallowing his sound of approval with another kiss.

Handsome and a Genius (Spencer Reid x F!Bau!Reader)
Inspired by that one scene in x files where mulder stands like a himbo looking handsome and being the future of beauty. you know the one I mean
Summary: Spencer’s overactive brain draws more attention than it ought to on a case, and you see him in a new light. 3k words.
Contains: hostile witnesses, spencer being clueless (but an absolute babe), friends to lovers. (No offence to Florida im sure it’s very nice, reader is having a bad day, and I am far too British for that kind of heat)
The sticky Florida air had long since plastered your clothes to your skin, leaving you short of breath and with the unpleasant feeling of damp hair against your scalp. The whole team had groaned at the revelation their next case would be in the outskirts of Miami, and as soon as the plane door opened you understood why.
You were hot, and grumpy. The salty, swampy air made you feel disgusting as you approached witness after witness. There was a serial killer operating in and around mobile home parks in the area, with the two most recent murders taking place in Royal Biscayne Trailer Park, both over a week ago. While the rest the team spread out across the other crime scenes, you and your partner had been dispatched to this one.
It was a world away from Quantico: sun-bleached, dense, full of plastic and palms instead of concrete and maples. Nonetheless, the principles remained the same no matter where you were. Take everything in, speak to everyone, suspect everyone. Stepping in and out of trailers gave you very little relief from the heat, although respite from the sun pounding down on you was a welcome break.
Dr Spencer Reid stood a short distance away, shielding his eyes with his hand as he contemplated the sea of trailers around him. He’d stared around as you drove into the park, something faraway in his eyes as he memorised every detail from the safety of the SUV.
Now he stood close to you, heads inches apart as he whispered so that only you could hear. He faced one way, you the other, and you could focus on his words knowing that Spencer was watching your back.
“These things all come equipped with the same locks, at least each model does. If you recognise the trailer home, you know how to pick it. It’s fairly trivial, for someone with some basic industry knowledge.”
You hummed through pursed lips, surveying the small crowd who had gathered to gawk at a pair of FBI officers on their turf.
“And that would be true of all of the trailer parks… we know he’s got a common MO.”
“Exactly.”
“You reckon someone in the industry, then? A salesman? Maintenance guy?”
Spencer rolled his neck, stared up at the sky for a moment. His curls were long at the moment, damp at the name of his neck, a little frizzy in the humidity.
“Not necessarily.”
“It’s quite specific,” you agreed, “anyone operating as a common thief around here would have the knowledge too. We could be talking about a classic escalation – burglar to home invader to murderer?”
His eyes snapped from you to his phone.
“I’ve asked Garcia to check out any patterns in robberies, home invasions… the locks are hardly scratched. We know he wears gloves, cleans his tools. This guy knows what he’s doing.”
You nodded, surveying the street again. The sun was glinting off of white plastic, making you squint. You worried for Spencer, the heat and the light wouldn’t be doing his headaches any good.
“You want me to take that?” Spencer was saying, and you snapped your attention in the direction he was gestured.
There was middle-aged man a little way forward of the crowd, shoulders hunched, hands entwined. Nervous. He had the tan of someone who lived here year-round, not a big believer in suncream, with tanlines when he removed his hat and glasses to speak to you.
“I’ve got it,” you murmured, and Spencer nodded.
It was an unspoken part of your partnership, that Spencer liked when you started conversations with witnesses. You liked that he trusted you, trusted your skills, never questioned whether you’d done the right thing when you spoke to people.
Instead he remained a short distance away, climbing up the front steps of someone’s home for a higher vantage point to survey the place.
“Hello, sir. Can I help you?”
“Yes, ma’am. Thank you. You said you’re with the FBI?”
The man had a tip, and it was an interesting one. A rumour spread throughout the HOA about someone trying the locks at night, the sound of metal against the doorways, silhouettes against frosted glass. A few people even had security camera footage, though nothing identifiable. It was great. You gave him your card, told him to get the footage to you asap.
It must be terrifying, you realised, to hear that kind of noise in the night. To be so close to danger, after a neighbour had been killed. The local sheriff’s department seemed frustrated by the interest the case was garnering – frankly you were amazed the story wasn’t bigger. There was no small amount of comforting involved in the conversation you had with the witness, and soon enough a few more people stepped forwards from the crowd. All seemed middle-aged, likely transplants to the sunshine state, and equally shaken.
When everyone’s stories had finished, they stood in silence for a moment. You frowned, noticing their gazes slightly misaligned.
Spencer.
He was stood at your shoulder, sharp gaze flickering across each face of the gathered residents.
“This is my colleague, Dr Reid. A few of you have already met, I believe.”
“You know,” he began, “the socio-economic factors influencing the way we think about crime in mobile home communities are fascinating. Often trailer parks are stereotyped negatively in the media, and because they are generally cheaper to live in than traditional housing estates, and that can foster a sense of shame or isolation for residents. Transient populations can also make community policing and security difficult, and anomalies in the patterns of everyday life become more difficult for people to subconsciously spot.”
You held your breath, and tried not to look worried at the reaction of the small crowd. Instead, you focused on Spencer. He was speaking with his hands a lot today.
“But I think the assumptions we tend to make about trailer parks completely overlook the very nature of living so close to your neighbours. There is a sense of community in living so closely, as evidenced by the conversations we’ve been having today. I’m not sure whether the killer understands that, or is exploiting the former theory that places like this allow for more deviations from the way we implement traditional security in communities. An unsub might hold some sort of resentment towards trailer parks, or some specific resident in his past, or perhaps he’s simply exploiting how incredibly easy it is to simply walk up to a mobile home and slip the lock open with a humble mass-produced lock pick.”
He was greeted with a sea of blank faces, littered with the occasional frown. Finally he looked to you. You caught the furrow of his brow, the way his shoulders hunched into himself, the clutching of his elbows to his body.
Oh, Spencer.
“That’s really interesting!” you tried to say, but Spencer was already backing away.
“Anyway, I’ll, um, leave you to it.”
“Thank you, Dr Reid,” you called after him, as he fled, disappearing into the shade of a nearby trailer.
Your heart ached for him a bit, but you pushed that aside. Instead, you had a sea of potentially offended retirees to keep on side.
“God, what I’d give for a brain like that,” your witness laughed, his linen shirt straining under the movement.
You couldn’t help smiling, a little relieved the tension had broken.
“It’s not often someone has a face like that and a good head on their shoulders,” one of the older ladies piped up.
You found yourself looking over your shoulder at Spencer, his profile sharp as he looked down the road, deep in thought.
“He’s certainly a rare breed,” you agreed fondly.
A number of the crowd were following your gaze, and someone in you wanted to snap them out of it. Stop them from staring.
“He actually has an eidetic memory. Once he’s seen or heard something, he remembers it perfectly, forever. It’s incredible.”
“Oh, my goodness! I can hardly remember my own email password!”
“I wouldn’t mind if he hung around me and talked like that all day, even if I didn’t understand a word of it. Though perhaps he could use a haircut…”
There was a chorus of agreement and various coo-ing which seemed to occupy the entire scale from grandmotherly to entirely inappropriate. You couldn’t help staring at Spencer a moment longer, wondering if he was truly oblivious, or simply pretending to be.
A rare breed.
You were certain you’d never met anyone else like him. Certain you felt like a better version of yourself in his company. That you’d trust him with your life, that you searched every room you entered until you saw him. Watched the elevator doors each time they opened, all morning, until Spencer walked in.
You were certain you’d felt giddy the first time Spencer insisted the two of you would work together, alone.
“Imagine knowing that he’d remember everything, forever…” one of the women was saying, her eyebrows raised in a way you didn’t particularly enjoy.
You cleared your throat, and hooked one hand over the badge at your waist.
“Unless anyone has any further leads, we’d better be on our way…”
The group silenced, and watched you dutifully. You passed out a few more cards, reiterated how dedicated the team was to stopping this killer, and gave out a few promises that there would be a police presence after dark throughout the trailer park.
When the request for any further questions was met with more glances towards Spencer, you thanked your witness, and made a beeline for the car. After only a few seconds Spencer was beside you, jogging to catch up.
“All done?” he asked, and you smiled at the question.
“I think so.”
You started the engine and both waited with the doors open for the car to cool down. The department’s penchant for black SUVs was not helpful when the sun was so vicious. Feeling the heat themselves, the group of residents had dispersed into a few groups, wandering into one another’s homes to continue gossiping.
“God, I’m disgusting,” you lamented, “sorry for the sweat-smell. I might actually take a cold shower when we get to the hotel.”
Spencer was already waving you off, leaning into the car to mess with the AC. Through the open door you saw him groan at the heat, swiping a curl from his face.
“I’m afraid to raise my arms. It’s so humid, I’m not sure why anyone would retire here. High humidity aggravates a number of chronic conditions, especially respiratory ones, which are common in older people. Not to mention the skin cancer…”
“And it ruins your hair,” you teased.
Spencer faked a gasp, and reached for a damp, limp section of his hair.
“I mean, look at it!”
You laughed, and rolled your eyes at him, nothing but fondness settling warm and tight in your chest.
Surveying the road in front of you for one final time you saw a few curtain-twitchers, but no new faces. You climbed into the car, wincing at the heat. The seatbelt buckle was burning hot, and you swore as it burned your fingers.
“I always forget about that,” you grumbled, slamming the car door closed.
“You know, if you fasten your seatbelt after you get out, it stops the metal getting hot and burning you,” Reid offered, and you rolled your eyes at him again.
“Gosh, doesn’t it get exhausting being right about everything?”
Spencer went quiet, and all you heard was the click of his own belt. After a few moments the car was cool and bearable, and your lungs felt like they could finally move again. The sat-nav happily talked away, and you started stealing worried looks at your partner once you’d returned to properly-maintained roads.
“What you said out there was really good, do you mind if we go over it again once we get to the station? I think it’s worth exploring.”
“I shouldn’t have said it in front of them.”
He was right, but you didn’t have to heart to say anything. That was the thing which made your heart twinge about Spencer – he was so insecure, and yet so self-aware, it was the worst of both worlds. Being an expert in body language was a double-edged sword.
“I don’t think they minded. Did you hear those old ladies talking about your big brain?”
Spencer didn’t laugh. He turned himself towards the window, curled up with his hand beneath his jaw.
“They were very impressed. So was I, for what it’s worth. I think we’ll make some really good progress on this profile tonight.”
He hummed agreement. Watched a vista of blurred blue and green and white going past the window. The radio was turned down to a low hum, you could hardly hear it. Silence pierced its way through and sound of mumbled songs and road noise.
“Are you okay?” you asked finally.
“I’m okay.”
You sighed. Tapped the steering wheel. Sped a little to get through an intersection on amber.
“Spencer…”
“I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to ruin that for you I just… sometimes I think of things and it’s like I have to tell you.
“Spencer I’m not mad at you! Not at all! I think we’re both just tired, and too warm…”
He didn’t say anything.
“Honestly, I was worried you’d heard what those ladies were saying about you and gotten upset. It was inappropriate of them…”
“I didn’t hear anything. What did they say?”
Your gaze was focused on the road, but you met Spencer’s eye in the rear-view mirror as he watched your face.
“Just that you were a handsome young man. And that they wanted you to get a haircut, which I firmly disagree with…” you teased.
Spencer touched his hair self-consciously. He was still quite curled up, leaning away from you despite his interest in the conversation.
“That’s nice of them, I suppose.”
“‘Nice’ is an interesting way of putting it, but I’m glad you’re not upset about it.”
“When I was a kid, I read a book at the library about how to tell if you’re attractive. It was for women, all about makeup and stuff, but there was a section about what made guys hot. I could never figure it out, I just always thought I looked like an alien.”
The sudden change made you sit up straight, heart in your mouth as you rolled to a stop behind a queue of traffic.
“I think everyone feels like that sometimes. Being a teenager is really hard.”
“I… yeah. I suppose so.”
“I always felt so jealous of the people who walked around looking perfect every day, confident that they were not. It just never came naturally to me.”
“Really? I assumed you were one of those girls in school who I’d be too afraid to talk to.”
You scoffed, and for a moment were struck by how little you really knew about one another. The way Spencer looked at you, looked it everyone, it felt as though he had an x-ray into every tiny detail of your life. How could he know, though?
“Of course not,” you laughed nervously.
You weren’t sure if you’d prefer Spencer knew the truth, or kept believing whatever he’d made up ini his head. You weren’t sure what any of this conversation meant. Traffic was moving. The precinct was two turns away.
“I’m not sure I believe you.”
He was teasing you. Finally he leant back in his seat, shoulders square to it, legs stretched out in the passenger footwell.
“Either way, I’m glad you can talk to me now. I’d miss it if you didn’t.”
“You might be the only person on this planet with that opinion.”
You took a moment to glance across the car at him, and caught a flash of a smile. He was joking. You released tension from your shoulders you hadn’t realised you were holding.
“I’m sure that’s not true. You’re a handsome genius, just like Barbara said.”
“Her name was Barbara?” Reid laughed.
You shrugged, and took the final turn into the precinct parking lot.
“I’ve got no idea.”
Even with the SUV in park, the aircon no longer blasting away, neither of you moved. Not for a moment, at least. A moment of peace before the chaos all began again. Just the two of you. Wherever you were, with Spencer was your favourite place to be.
“You’re the same, you know. A genius. And handsome…”
You frowned.
“Pretty! Beautiful. You know what I mean.”
“Handsome?”
In truth, you didn’t care about the words. Not at all. Not when your heart was pounding at the realisation Spencer had his gaze fixed on your lips, his eyes soft and pupils blown wide.
“Beautiful,” Spencer repeated, “You know, in a lot of languages, handsome can be translated for men and women. The word itself doesn’t have a gender. Guapa, for example, in Spanish…”
You let him talk, on and on. You decided you wouldn’t kiss him yet, while your hair was matted in sweat and Spencer’s face was brushed with sunburn and embarrassment.
“Bella is more popular in South America, though, or bonita. My favourite is Japanese, though. Kirei. To be beautiful both inside and out…”
Only a few more moments passed before Morgan arrived and banged on the glass with a wide grin and a sweat-beaded brow, announcing a break in the case. You were sorry for the interruption.

Wesker has consumed my mind entirely, so could I leave an request for him?
Albert wesker as the father of readers boyfriend, at first he didn’t pay much attention to them but the more often reader came by, the more his thoughts started to become intimate and every time reader would have a fight with his son, wesker would use it to make them doubt their relationship with his son.
Really love your fics, if you won’t do this request it’s fine, but really can’t wait to read more of your story’s! Hope you’re doing alright and take care of yourself 🫶

In Wesker's eyes, at first you were just another toy for his son, you were already the third boyfriend his son had in less than three months — so the scientist didn't even look at you, just greeting you out of politeness and isolating himself again in his office to continue his work."It won't last long, I bet." Albert said to himself, referring to yet another boyfriend of his son, but he didn't get involved in matters... After all, he was a man too busy for trivial things.
You obviously tried to be a polite boy and get along with your father-in-law, but all your attempts failed as the blonde didn't even look at you — and if he did, you couldn't speak because he simply wore those sunglasses 24 of the day. It was frustrating for you every time you received a rude and rude response from your own father-in-law, making you give up on getting closer to him.
But despite his attempts to avoid you out of pure disinterest, he couldn't deny that you were getting into his routine much more than he wanted to admit. His son always brought you to spend the weekends and have lunch at his mansion, so finally the older man's eyes noticed you.
You were a kind and sweet man, different from his son who was always the same as his personality — only a little worse considering his extreme elitist upbringing. But not you, you were simple and sweet, it even surprised him how stupidly innocent you could be sometimes.
And his also knew that it wouldn't take long for his son to start a fight with you because of his stupidity.
The older blonde started to have unhealthy thoughts about you, your presence was like a balm for him, but also like an inferno that threatened to burn everything and everyone around him.
He began to wonder what it would be like to squeeze your thighs, how your soft skin would feel in his big, calloused hands — how beautiful you would look moaning and begging him to go deeper into your beautiful body... How he would be better than his son being a companion to you.
He really tried to push those thoughts away and tried to approach you like a real father-in-law would, apologizing for his previous behavior and that he was just stressed about some company matters.
But the way your face and doe eyes lit up at simply being treated well by him made the heat in his core gradually rise — every fiber of his being was pulsing and burning like a fire... Only he knows how much he controlled himself to doesn't push you against the nearest wall and make you his right there.
Albert tried to suppress the feelings of lust that were slowly threatening to rot his mind, but every time he saw your smile, even those caused by his son, he wanted to do some crazy things and take you for himself. "Fuck, I'm too old to act like a dedicated man controlled only by his desires." Wesker thought as he rested his temple on his closed fist and watched you on the other side of the room, in his mansion, hugging his son and watching a movie. But he knew that moments of peace like that would end soon, especially with his son's toxic behavior — he had already predicted this, but he never thought it would take a considerably longer time compared to other times.
Even though it took a while, it happened, you fought with your boyfriend and practically the entire gated community heard the screams. Wesker was still trying not to interfere in your two lives because of the feeling of wanting to have you for himself — but after the fifth fight where you were slapped in the face by his son, he felt obliged to break up the heated argument and take you to a safe place away from there.
Before you said anything he just took off his sunglasses and for the first time looked at you with his piercing blue eyes. "No no, you don't need to say anything kid... I know my son was a horrible man and an asshole to you. I'm on the right side, just because he's my son doesn't mean I'm going to blind myself to the horrible things he did you hear." Albert said it loud and clear, then his cold, rough hands found your face and made you focus on his face.
"Listen to me, pretty boy, you deserve someone better than him." He spoke with a tone that made you feel goosebumps, the nickname "pretty boy" came out practically erotically from his thin lips and the look with the older man's dilated pupils didn't help much with your confused feelings.
With each fight that happened in your relationship, you felt closer and closer to your father-in-law. Even starting to frequent Wesker's mansion when your boyfriend wasn't there, purposely just to be alone with the older man.
Between smiles, conversations and not-so-unconscious looks, you quickly found yourself sitting on the older man's thighs while both of you were breathing faster — unable to hold back any longer, Wesker had given in to his desires and finally kissed you, his lips on yours, in a warm and desperate kiss — his hands going to your ass squeezing the soft flesh and quickly soft moans coming out of both of you, the erection in his pants wouldn't let him lie that he wanted more than just kissing his own son-in-law. "Come on lad... I'll show you how much you need someone older who really knows how to take care of you."
Wesker's cock was thick and pulsing enough to make your brain shut down with each thrust, moaning and drool dripping from the corner of your mouth as your legs trembled around his muscular torso — your pussy dripped onto his bare, skin-tight member. skin made you feel the thick, dirty tip of precum kissing your uterus and threatening to fill you at any moment. "Fuck--! open that pussy wider for me, good boy..." Wesker moaned as he grabbed your thighs and squeezed the soft flesh there, leaving marks all over it.
Having sex with your own father-in-law was dirty and wrong... But it was incredibly hot. Unlike your boyfriend, the older man really focused on your pleasure.
He smiled huskily as he saw you turn into a trembling mess barely able to suck his dick while you did a 69 in his office. "You have a charming and pretty pussy, boy," He moaned, licking and wrapping his lips around your clit, sucking hard as he felt your hand on his cock, stroking it gently. The light pressure on his dick was pleasant and arousing as it also fueled his desire to make you feel as good as he could. He kept alternating between his fingers inside you and his tongue on your clit, and every now and then, he'd let a finger slip into your ass, and a moan from your lips encouraged him to continue doing so. "Fuck, you're tight, so, so tight..." Wesker's moaned, his hands squeezing your thighs, wanting you to hold onto him, to let him know that you were enjoying it. "My son is an asshole for letting such a needy and bitchy boy like you run wild, I'm glad I got you for myself, right?"
The two of you fucked like two animals in heat, even with your boyfriend at home — every time you waited for him to sleep and ran to Wesker's office. "Do you want me to help you with this my angel?" The scientist laughed as he fingered your pussy with two thick fingers, rhythmically thrusting into your g-spot and making you roll your eyes and hold on to the wooden table that you were leaning against, making the tall man laugh.
"Shhhh, don't make any noise, be a good slut and keep those beautiful moans bottled up ok? You really are sensitive boy- holy shit, it's just my fingers and you're already squirming for me to touch that cute pussy of yours." He snapped his fingers against your pussy, a sting, but not enough to make you shudder too much as his attention was diverted to your clit, flicking it with his thumb, trying to tease you even more and make you beg for him. him again. "You want me to fuck you don't you? Then you better beg for it boy." Albert pronounced each syllable fiercely, unbuttoning his pants and once again exposing his thick, pulsing member — you could smell the musk and the heat radiating from his groin, making you drip even more and barely be able to think beyond begging him in a slurred manner to fuck you soon.
"My son should see what a whore his boyfriend is for me, you know?" He teased as he buried himself without warning into your wet heat, covering your mouth with his hand as his thrusts were animalistic but with a concern that his cock would hit all the right spots on your sensitive wall.
Fingers, tongue, dick, sex toys, everything you wanted he used for your pleasure, taking you to orgasms that you didn't even know could be so pleasurable. Besides his look conveyed more than a simple desire for you — he wanted more, a lovers' affair wouldn't satisfy him, he needed to steal you from his son.
And how to do this? Simple, record a short porn video and send it to him later — cruel? Sure, but your father-in-law was sick and obsessed with you enough to not even care about his own son.
"Look at the camera, come on my prince, be a good slut and fix your eyes on the lens." Wesker pulled your hair as he made you look at the recording instrument with your face messy and flushed with pleasure — your pussy squeezed and milked the older man's cock as he made sure to record you from every possible angle.
"Smile darling... Tell him who you belong to." He grunted in your ear, hearing you moan his name repeatedly as he increased his thrusts to the point of making your groin hurt and hot, mixing your juices and his cum that made your thighs even wetter. He held his head tightly to the camera, as a cruel smile spread across his own face. “It looks like you lost quite a boy, I never thought you were so stupid, son... But you can leave it, daddy will take good care of your... Ex-boyfriend." The blonde laughed as he came again inside your pussy, seeing you moan drunk of pleasure for him — Wesker loved you in a distorted way, but unlike his son, he really saw a future with you by his side. Like his boy, as it had to be.

ELYSIAN ♫
23. A therapist? ✎
Scaramouche fears no man.
But he does fear four women.
1. Ei — his mother
2. Yae Miko — his mother’s “friend”
3. Nahida — his aunt
4. You — the highlight of his life
There’s no particular order. It depends on the day. Although tonight, that might be the case.
The bamboo pendant lamp hangs beautifully in the intricate walls if Uyuu Restaurant. An order of Tricolor Dango, Shimi Chazuke, Fukuuchi Udon, and Halvamazd scatter along the floor table. Scara settles across his mother. Yae Miko finds the spot next to her and beside him, Nahida chats away with the restaurant owner who introduces himself and the specialties he’d prepared in advance.
Four dishes for four people.
“What a funny guy! What’s his name again?” Yae Miko asks after the owner left.
“I believe it’s Okazaki Rikuto,” Nahida answers as she scans the roster of food available. Scara notices the eagerness in her eyes. Sometimes, his aunt resembles that of a child – if only she wasn’t so perceptive.
“Care to share your thoughts?” Nahida asks.
There it is – as always.
Scara clears his throat, “No. Let’s eat.”
It will have to wait.
Minutes of uncomfortable silence fills the room. A wave of anxiety begins to envelop Scara’s thoughts. Considering his intrepid personality, he’s sure that even outsiders can tell the absurdity of his actions – from fumbling his chopsticks to checking his phone every passing second. It’s a telltale sight. He curses himself.
“Whatever you wanted to discuss with us, you should do it now,” Ei states calmly. Although It’s not a suggestion, rather a demand.
Scara clears his throat a second time. There’s hesitation in his words. But stalling will get him nowhere, “I’ve been seeing someone.”
Yae Miko looks up grinning, “A therapist?”
The urge to say “fuck you” and hold up a middle finger begins to increase.
“Miko,” his mother warns. Scara can’t tell the expression Ei is wearing – he can never tell with her. He hates that. She is uncertainty, someone he’ll never fully understand.
Nahida interjects, “Is it [name]? I’ve seen articles and comments.”
Scara nods.
Always so perceptive.
Yae Miko Gasps, a hand over her mouth, “Oh the poor girl. I can’t believe she chose you.”
“Miko!” Ei screams.
A simple “fuck you” might not be enough. One more comment from the pink haired lady and they’ll have to call the ambulance – and it’s not for the right reasons.
Yae Miko looks at him with false pity, “You do know, it’s bad to lie–”
Ei cuts her off, “When can we meet her?”
Scara is caught off guard in the best way possible.
A genuine smile is written on his mother’s face – satisfaction.
“You should’ve invited her tonight,” Nahida added, “I’m a big fan of her work.”
He’s dreaming. He has to be.
“I had no faith in you,” Yae Miko says matter-of-factly.
Nevermind. He’s not dreaming.
“Look, you were a socially awkward child – a problem child, even now.”
He’s never been in a cat fight, but today might be it. Should he pull the top of her hair first or the bottom? Which one would be more efficient, he wonders. Venti would know.
“I mean Ei, do you remember the time–”
Or perhaps he should ask Heizou for blackmail materials. Then perhaps his mother would finally cut her off. Taking down the Yae Publishing House… What an exciting thought.
Scara tunes out the voice of his primary hater.
“Next time, you and [name] should visit Tenshukaku. I’d love to meet her,” his mother says in-between giggles.
“You’re not upset?” He asks, just to make sure.
Ei looks offended, “Why would I be?”
“Well–” He halts, not sure of what to say, “Because of the scandals…”
He doesn’t care about those trivial issues, but they might.
Nahida giggles, “For someone who doesn’t seem to care about people’s opinions, you sure are obedient today.“
“I just wanted to make sure.”
Ei shakes his head, “I know I never told you this, but I’ve always wanted the best for you,” She hesitates, “I apologize for making it hard for you to tell me simple things like this. I’m not a perfect mother, but I’m glad you’re sharing a part of your life with me – with us.”
He doesn’t know how to respond, merely nods.
If you were here, you would’ve loved them and they would’ve loved you.
He’s sure of that now. He’s wrong for doubting them.
“But anyway, is there something [name] would like? I can send her newly-made desserts from the shop.”
Yae Miko interjects, “Does she read light novels? I can give her a discount.”
“Or maybe she likes plants? Have you given her Padisarahs? Rainbow Roses? It’s supposed to mean passion and romantic encounters,” Nahida suggests.
Ei lights up, “Oh I know! A copy of your childhood photo album – you were an adorable kid.”
“Mom!”
“Hey, I’m sure she’d want it.”
She’s right.

# FIRSTS ‣ GOJO SATORU
✰ — author’s note i have risen back from the dead. more coming soon i am on sem break now yahooo
✰ — cw / tags satoru’s firsts just so happened to be with you, f!reader, sfw!
✰ — playing japanese denim by daniel caesar.
GOJO is upset. he is next to you on the school rooftop, hating every second of it—not because it’s you, but because you are crying. you’re crying and he has no idea what to do.
you’d gotten into a fight with your friends, or ‘your stupid friends that are no good for you’ as gojo puts it, that day. it was a trivial matter turned serious, escalating from banter to sudden silent treatment: you have no idea what to do, and you wonder how you will survive tomorrow’s classes and lunch after they had just shut you out. you would have nobody to sit with, you realise. you complain to satoru, your eyes brimming with tears.
he’s about half an arms length away from you, scared he will say the wrong thing; he didn’t know much about arguments. suguru and him were always on good terms. he’s thinking about the most general advice he could give you, just to be on the safer side, in case something specific he says ruins your life. he’s thinking so hard he swears he has veins showing on the sides of his forehead.
your sobs get quieter, and so does he. he hasn’t said much in the past half an hour. he has never felt guiltier than now, cursing himself for not being able to comfort you when you needed him—but an idea comes to his mind, one not half bad.
“c’mere,” gojo suddenly suggests, “closer.”
you comply, unsure of what he’s about to do, until he snakes his arm around your shoulder and turns to you. his right arm reaches for your back, enclosing you—gojo is warm, his shoulders obstructing your peripheral vision.
he’s not sure if he’s doing it right, because you start to sob into his shirt. you would usually be scolded for messing his clothes up, but that’s the last thing on his mind now; he thinks you fit just right into his arms.
“you can have lunch with me tomorrow.” his voice is low and soft, gentle and sweet.
you never knew gojo satoru could be sweet.
“okay.”
gojo pulls away from you, momentarily, his expression one of worry—before opening his mouth to speak again. “your eyes are so puffy. how will guys like you now? your nose is so red, too.”
you scoff, leaning back into his chest. “and i thought you were being nice for a minute..”
“now i’ll be the only one willing to look at you.”
GOJO ‘ s leaning in close to you, and your lips are trembling from how nervous you feel. his eyes are locked onto yours, his breath shaky and clearly uncontrolled; his chest is rising and falling at a fast pace, and you’re the same—fingernails digging into the soft cushion you two are laying on.
it is a friday night when you’re at gojo’s house under the pretense of ‘tutoring’, but here you are: here he is, in front of you and anxious. for the first time, gojo satoru is not confident. a million thoughts race in his mind, swirl and jump around and it almost makes him dizzy—though he can’t tell if it’s actually because of how much prettier you look up close. your lips look so soft, and he knows you’re looking at his too.
you’re not sure how it led up to this. you two gave up on your physics homework and decided to watch a movie, making yourselves comfortable on his couch—and you reached for the remote to lower the volume, reaching over satoru to the table next to him. you think it’s cliché, how you almost fall over the couch when you make that stretch for the remote; only for satoru to catch you with his arm around your waist and his face inches away from yours.
the remote is still in your hand, and satoru’s fingers are gripped firmly on the flesh of your hips. your chests are pressed together and you are so, so tempted.
“can i kiss you?”
you’re taken aback by the question. his breath is cold against your skin; shivers travel up and down your spine and you feel lightheaded again. nevertheless, you muster a nod—you feel the tension break and your heart skip a beat when his lips rush after yours milliseconds after your approval: a relief you never knew you needed.
it feels right, his lips—as if perfectly molded to yours. they are warm and taste like the coffee you shared (technically, that he stole from you) earlier: sweet, so sweet that you need it to last forever.
he pulls away, eyes still following your lips. his pupils slowly trail up your face until they’re looking at yours, dilated and shining in the warm light of his living room.
“i’ve never kissed anyone before.” you almost stutter, hoping he wouldn’t ridicule you as he always did: but you had a feeling this was the kind and gentle satoru you were speaking to.
“me neither,” the ends of his lips curve into a smile, and not the smug one you and many others were used to—something has changed between you two, and his actions suddenly bring about an entirely different weight now.
“feels right with you, though.” satoru whispers. you’re fighting every urge in you to kiss him again; every nerve in your lips wait for his. your self control doesn’t take long to render useless—seconds later, his lips are on yours again, making sure you two are much closer this time.
GOJO is not your boyfriend.
the sun is merciless, beating down on you both as you two hold hands and stroll around the beach and the market that resided next to it. it was a typical saturday afternoon, except with satoru pestering you to go to the beach with him: when he had texted you about it, you were confident he had asked his other friends to come along as well.
you show up at the entrance of the market as planned, and you see nobody else but the tall, snow-headed figure you were well accustomed to.
your friends were surprised you two weren’t dating by the two year mark. there were a few times you got upset about it, the fact that he hadn’t asked you out. he had kissed you, after all; your first kiss, yet you know there was going to be no other like it, and you wanted it to stay that way—yet there was this doubt manifesting in you, an anxiety of sorts: did gojo even mean it?
“satoru.” your voice calls out for him, and his head turns from the view of the waves to you.
satoru didn’t pay any mind to when you started calling him satoru.
it was exhilarating just to even say his name, the intimacy of it was enough: enough for you to be content with the fact that he wasn’t yours—at least you got to call him by the name no other girl could. it felt the same to you, satoru was not yours: but his name was on your tongue.
he was yours in that way.
“y/n.” it was equally intimate when he said yours, maybe even more. the way the syllables of your name roll off his tongue, his expression and tone, one no other man could replicate.
“satoru.” you say again in response, smile getting wider and cheeks redder.
“stop saying my name like that.” satoru smiles and turns his head away from you, again, almost as if he is embarrassed of how red his ears go when you savour every syllable of his name.
his fingers are intertwined with yours. they’re cool compared to the heat you two are standing under, and gojo continues navigating the crowded market—making sure you don’t get pushed around by random strangers.
a few hours pass and you two are eating kiwi fruit on the sandy shores, the sun setting rather slowly. it was noisy: music is being played from an event happening nearby, families playing beach volleyball, children running around haphazardly.
you lean against satoru’s shoulder, wondering when you two will ever talk about that night at his place—you’re not sure if he even wants to talk about it. maybe just a one time thing.
the thought of it never happening again eats you up inside. how unfair it is, that gojo satoru could make you feel such a way and never again.
“y/n,” he mutters, throwing the skin of his kiwi into a plastic bag. “can we talk about it?”
it’s scary how you have nowhere to run now. you thought he would bring it up on the phone, and you’d have at least some time to think about what to say. “about what?”
he scoffs, “don’t act stupid. there’s a reason why i asked you out today.”
you keep quiet, unsure of what to say to make this any less tense. you two were just eating kiwi and watching the sunset. there was nothing awkward about it until he made it awkward.
“then why did you ask me out?”
“because i wanted to ask you to be my girlfriend, but here you are acting like an idiot.” he groans, taking your kiwi and eating it. “i see why none of your dates ever work out.”
you laugh, almost shocked at how satoru is complaining so much and yet his face is flushed. you sit up and look at him. “that’s really rude, ‘toru.”
“you know i like you, y/n.” his chest is pounding—it’s deafening how loud his heartbeat is. his eyes are looking at you, eager for an answer but clearly afraid of rejection.
you lean closer, kissing his cheek, hoping to soothe some of his anxieties. you could never say no to satoru, and he seemed unaware of that; but you knew he would come to realise it sooner or later.
“i like you too, ‘toru.”
SATORU is nowhere to be found. you’re in your bed, listening to a playlist he had made for you awhile ago: before you two had dated. now that you look at the titles, you should’ve known he was head over heels for you. the rain pounding against your window drowned out most of the music playing from your headphones, though.
it was a boring day without your boyfriend. you haven’t spoken to him for a few days now, partially because you’re not sure whether he even wants to. a tense day at practise made him raise his voice at you, something really unlike him.
you knew he didn’t mean it. but you weren’t going to act like you were okay with it, either—he had hurt your feelings, after all. though, it did make you just a bit upset that he didn’t bother to call you after that day.
you’re curled up in your bed, wondering if this was how it’s going to be. after every argument, would he be this way?
your thoughts are interrupted by knocking at your bedroom door. your mother’s face appears in the space between your door and doorframe: gentle voice and a smile. “someone’s here to see you, y/n”. you think it’s your aunt who lives across the country, the one who brings you those sour strawberries you don’t really like but never have the heart to decline.
your mother’s face disappears and the door opens, revealing that it’s not your aunt like you had initially thought.
the figure in front of you was that of your boyfriend’s, hair wet from the rain and a pout worn on his face. his eyes and nose are red, cheeks puffy. he’s holding a bouquet of flowers, your favourite—you remember telling him about it a few months ago.
“i’m sorry for raising my voice, i shouldn’t have. i know it scared you but i really didn’t mean to yell.”
you decide to let him ramble. satoru was vulnerable around you in many ways, but never like this.
“i didn’t want to yell, i was just having a bad day and i know that’s no excuse. i’m so sorry, i was being stupid and—“
you stand up and come closer to him, your fingers moving his hair away—his face is stained with tears.
“it’s okay, ‘toru. thank you for apologising.”
he sniffles, not crying anymore. satoru hugs you tightly, and he smells like a mix of rain and cologne. “i love you.”
“i love you too, satoru.”
181023 — what’s up …. Don’t be mad i’m back now Plz

More Between Us.
You’ve always been just friends, but they can’t ignore how their heart races whenever you’re near.
FEAT. Isagi, Bachira
NOTES. probably my most tooth-rotting post yet! annnd I totally forgot I had this in my drafts Bring this duo back to me though pleasj
ISAGI is easygoing, and mild-mannered by nature (though perhaps his rivals disagree on that). It’s literally harder to not be friends with him. Your relationship was equally good, nothing particularly special and not abysmal. The type of friends who might talk on the way to class if you spot each other, but never go out of their way to do so either.
If asked, you wouldn’t even say best friends; he’s too busy with his teammates, and you have your own friend group.
See, Isagi enjoys thinking about stuff in a logical sense, using reason and evidence to support his ‘theory’. Both in real life and in football.
So before he even comes to the conclusion of a crush, firstly, there’s the small details he picks up about you.
Your eyes shift colour slightly if the sun hits them right. But, he reckons that happens with everyone’s eyes. Your eyes crinkle upwards when you smile, and maybe even dimples form on your cheeks as you do so. He likes seeing people smile, and yours is… in a way, cuter than anyone else’s? If he had to rank smiles, he’d put yours near the top. All hypothetical, obviously!
He’s always been observant, even as a kid, so Isagi figured he was just feeling a little more insightful as of late but it doesn’t stop there.
Suddenly, Isagi finds himself unconsciously lingering in places he knows you'll be. He tells himself it's just coincidence, but deep down, he has a feeling that he’s seeking you out more often.
Practicing with his team becomes a lot more strategic, with him making sure he's near your usual route home (not in a stalker way, at least, he hopes not), and just on time so that he can ‘bump into you’ and walk together.
And he lives in the complete opposite direction, so, while you don’t mind his presence, you find it a little odd.
Isagi begins to remember every little thing you mention, even the small stuff, like your favorite snack or the song you've been listening to on repeat. Next thing you know, he’s casually surprising you with them, acting like it’s no big deal but loves it when you get visibly excited about it.
He fumbles with his words a little more around you now, overthinking simple things that never used to bother him. It’s not like he’s shy (actually one of the best communicators out of everyone), he just doesn’t want to mess up or make you think he’s weird!
If he says something that could be interpreted as mildly creepy, he’s actually the first one to call it out and apologise over and over again. Beats himself up about it at home, even if you thought it was mildly funny that he knew what you were doing last week Tuesday at around 5:06PM…
When his teammates joke about him having a crush, he laughs it off, but there’s always a little pink in his cheeks that he hopes you don’t notice.
He'll start texting you first more often, just to share something funny or ask for your opinion on something trivial. It’s an excuse, really, just to have another reason to talk to you.
Also catches himself smiling whenever he sees a notification from you pop up on his phone, and his heart does a little flip when he reads your replies, no matter how mundane they are. Literally a “hey, I’m bored. Wanna hang out” is enough for him to lose sleep over it.
When you two do eventually go to said hang out, he pays extra attention to you: whether it's making sure you’re comfortable, or that you’ve got enough to eat, he’s always subtly looking out for you.
Despite all these signs, Isagi convinces himself it’s better this way — giving you small hints for you to understand rather than straight-up confessing. If you notice them and accept, great! If you notice and don’t accept, that’s fine too, he hopes you can remain friends though!
If you’re completely oblivious, well… he’ll muster up the courage to say it outright.
You and BACHIRA are like two peas in a pod together! Where there’s one, the other’s probably lurking nearby somewhere. Every second of every day seems to be spent with each other (and to anybody with common sense, you two already look like you’re dating).
When the crush starts, he thinks about you more than he already did, if that were even possible. Every little thing you do seems to make his heart race, but he sorta brushes it off as just excitement from being with his best friend.
Kind of a trickier situation than Isagi’s one this way though, because now you’re so close, Bachira doesn’t even feel that different about you. He might not even realise it’s romantic until his mother points it out in the midst of another one of his rambling sessions. About you, that is.
I won’t sugarcoat it; he’s nervous if anything. You’re one of the few friends he has and genuinely seem to care and like about him and if he ruins your friendship over his feelings, he’d be devastated.
But he’s back to his usual self and gains a little confidence after some encouragement from others!
Bachira’s clinginess ramps up a notch, but it’s so typical of him that you might not even notice. He’s constantly draping an arm around you, leaning on you, or just being in your personal space as much as possible.
Willing to share anything and everything with you. For example, if it’s snacks he’s got, he’s always picking out the best pieces just for you and handing them over with a cute smile.
Bachira finds himself staring at you a lot more now. Sometimes you’ll catch him and he’ll just laugh it off with a playful comment, but on the inside, his mind is racing with thoughts he can’t quite put into words.
When you talk, he listens with full attention, his usual playful demeanor softening into something more tender. He hangs onto your every word like it’s the most important thing he’s ever heard — and you could literally be talking about a bug you saw on the sidewalk this morning.
If you ever need anything, Bachira’s the first one to jump in and help, no questions asked. He’d go out of his way just to make you smile, even if it means a truckload of extra effort on his part.
Sometimes, he hints at deeper feelings in his usual roundabout way — in little jokes that might just have a hint of truth behind them. But he always plays it off as just that, a joke.
If you’re feeling down, he’s the first to notice, offering comfort in the form of goofy antics or just sitting with you in silence if that’s what you want.
If you ever confront him directly and ask if he feels something more than just being friends, Bachira might just spill everything in a rush of words; unable to keep his feelings hidden any longer. But until then, he’s content simply being by your side, even if it means he isn’t being entirely honest to himself.

Hi ! I saw that u already made hxh headcanons on a reader who's always cold, could you do then headcanons of the main 4 (hxh) with a reader who is actually always really nice and sweet, friendly and polite? But gets absolutely feral and relentless when someone is rude or hurts their loved ones??
Ty ahead and have great day 💗💗💗
main 4 with a reader who goes feral when someone hurts their loved one
gon
✰ he adores how kind and sweet you usually are
✰ while he can get along with virtually anyone, he prefers friendlier people like you
✰ and he’d probably also rely on you to keep him in check and be the calmer one
✰ so when someone makes a rude comment towards him, he definitely doesn’t expect you to jump to his defense
✰ and if you got physical with someone, he’s even more shocked
✰ his biggest concern is stopping the disagreement, he just doesn’t want to watch you get hurt over something trivial
✰ so as much as he loves you defending him, he’ll tell you it’s not worth the trouble and to let it go
✰ don’t get me wrong though, he’s quite happy that you’re willing to do that for him in the first place
“i’m so lucky to have you by my side… but seriously where did that come from!?”
killua
✰ he finds this pretty intriguing
✰ because under normal circumstances, you’d never result to aggression/violence
✰ and yet when he’s involved… you immediately drop those hesitations to stand up for him
✰ now at first, he might jump to the conclusion that you think of him as weak
✰ so while he bandages a cut you got in the fight, he’ll bring it up
“idiot… why’d you have to get hurt for me anyway? i could’ve dealt with it on my own.”
✰ but once you explain things, he realizes he was overthinking it
✰ and when he does, he becomes the biggest cheerleader
“yeah! beat his ass y/n!”
✰ to be honest, it reminds him a lot of gon
✰ which would make him love it even more
✰ however, if you go too feral, he’ll probably get you to stop
✰ because at the end of the day, whatever the person did didn’t even matter to him
kurapika
✰ he himself would be more protective over someone sweet and kind
✰ the world can be very harsh and someone who’s polite to everyone would come across as naive to him
✰ which is also why he’s the most surprised of all when you get defensive
✰ you going crazy on someone for insulting him is just completely out of character in his mind
✰ that being said, if you can handle it yourself, he won’t stop you
✰ after all he’s the exact same way
✰ not to mention he’s honored you’d do so much for his sake
✰ if it got out of hand, he’d just tell you to lay off
✰ and once the two of you were alone, he’d make it clear he thought your actions were justified
✰ although, if something similar happened in the future, he’d remind you not to engage and try to cool you down
✰ mainly because he’d prefer you don’t get into any fights at all
leorio
✰ you’re giving him whiplash
✰ like he can’t understand how someone as sweet as you could switch up so quickly
✰ we all know that he’s no stranger to getting into arguments
✰ so if you’re merely defending him with words, he’s got no problem
✰ if you started fighting the person, he’s conflicted
✰ cause part of him is like
“punch him harder!”
✰ but his rational side will probably break up the fight
✰ if you ended up getting injured for him, he’s really flattered
✰ and of course he takes care of every injury
✰ but also “don’t do that ever again”

Baldur’s Gate 3 companions on being given a nickname (Aka Bex’s attempt at getting the voices of characters down):
Karlach: OH A NICKNAME! Mama K loves a nickname. Hey, solider, how’s about I come up with one for you? *pumps fists* EXCELLENT! I’ll get back to you in the morning, okay?
Shadowheart: I suppose it couldn’t hurt. Lady Shar bids us cloak ourselves with false guises to do her work. Fine, you may call me what name you see fit —— [ tees up a guiding bolt] anything but that
Lae’zel: Chk. We Githyanki take great pride in our names and titles. I am Lae’zel of Cerche K’liir and I would bid you address me as such. Although [pause] I see the merits of this Fay-runian custom. A shortened name is easier to call out in the heat of battle. Very well. You may call me “Lae” if it is easier for you, Istik.
Gale: It would seem that word of my many names during my Blackstaff days have reached far beyond Waterdeep. I am all ears for whatever term you have chosen to bestow upon me. Would you care to hear the origins of the names of my youth…?
Wyll: A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet— You know, I stashed a bottle of Amaian desert wine for a special occasion. What’s say you and I crack it open and brain storm some ideas for our companions together? If we can find Alfira, perhaps she’ll write them in a song
Astarion: A what? [ Astarion.exe has stopped working] I don’t know, it seems quite trivial, does it not? Alright, if you insist on calling me something, then I must return the favor. How about…my little Midnight Snack. [pause] What in the bloody world in a “juice box”?
Jaheira: I have been called many things by many people, cub. You may call me what you like- the names do not bother me, we all fade into history at some point and they will call us many more things when we are gone. Just know that I will only respond to Jaheira or High Harper.
Minsc: You hear that, Boo? Our friend has given us a nickname! My friend, you must give one to Boo as well, it is only fair. [listens to Boo] What? [more listening] Your name is only three letters long? Bah, what does it matter! We will still come up with a name befitting of your stature, won’t we, my friend?
Minthara: A surface dweller custom, to be sure. I did not survive as long as I have to allow my name to be besmirched in such a crude manner. A trip of the tongue, perhaps? Good. Do not allow it to happen again, lest your tongue be separated from your fair skull.
Halsin: The title of First Druid sat heavy on my shoulders for many years, I think I would find any nickname much less weighty.
#bg3#again these are just my attempts at the dialogue#no hate to any of the character or anything this is just how they sound in my brain#karlach#shadowheart#lae’zel#wyll ravengard#gale dekarios#halsin#minthara#astarion#jaheira#minsc

i beg you write playing with karinas boobs please please please
now... karina being the most likely to enjoy getting her boobs played with in aespa let's talk about it!! btw reader is the 5th member of aespa :] also karina has an unnie kink i don't make the rules
it doesn’t come as a shock to anyone to say that karina has pretty big tits, like let's all be real for a second wbk. she's obviously very aware of it too, and isn't at all afraid to wear revealing clothes and such, she wants to flaunt that gorgeous body of hers as much as possible and tbh? as she should! you could even go to the extent of saying that she's pretty much obsessed with herself with how much cleavage she shows on a daily basis.
even when she's fingers deep into herself, her other hand tends to fixate on her chest area the most, groping and gently pulling at her nipple as she quietly moans into her own pillow.
no seriously, she would die for her own tits you do not get it.
so, hearing the other girls compliment her innocently in regards to that? oh it brings her a feeling that can't even be described with words. especially when the one giving the compliments is none other than y/n.
she knew y/n liked staring at them, whether it was in public or not. at an interview, an award show, a livestream? it truly did not matter. she stares at them whenever and wherever, and karina's aware of it. she likes it, even; it brings her a sense of... superiority, observing how the other girl looks at her, with such admiration, such curiosity. it drove her insane. y/n could say something as trivial as "jimin unnie i'm so jealous, how do they sit so well?" and it would get said girl inexplicably riled up. no seriously, the honorific does things to her every time.
so when karina has the opportunity to be alone in the dorms with y/n? oh she makes sure to very quickly take it. doing things like wearing extra tight clothes (sometimes barely any lol), not wearing a bra, etc. she takes this shit very seriously and is absolutely set on making y/n worship her tits!
now of course, the latter isn't stupid. she catches on pretty quickly that karina is practically in heat for her, and who is she to not give her unnie what she wants?
bumping into karina and groping her 'by mistake' before noticing how the older girl blushes at the situation, her breathing getting slightly heavier. seeing that, y/n starts teasing her about it! (well yess as you do, of course)
"oh, i didn't know you were like that, jimin unnie.. what a pervert. you wanted me to do that, didn't you?"
AND THEN SHE NODSSS?? it's quite literally over for her, there's a pool growing in between her legs already, she's getting hotter by the second and you're blatantly staring at her chest right in front of her. what else is she supposed to do in this situation?
satisfied with her unspoken answer, it doesn’t take long for y/n to slide her hands up the other girl’s shirt and… oh well would you look at that she isn’t even wearing a bra! but then again, after hearing karina repeatedly whisper something along the lines of “please touch me.”, she kinda figured that the older member wouldn’t waste time in putting on something as useless as a bra.
at this point?? her shirt is OFF, her bra is ACROSS THE ROOM, and she’s sitting on the couch getting marked up BY HER FELLOW MEMBER.
this is all she could’ve ever wanted, of course, the only thing that would possibly made it better would be to have the rest of the girls watch and potentially even join in, but that was unfortunately reserved for another day. for now? karina was perfectly content with being groped by her dearest member.
y/n, on her end of things, is in a whole completely world! (what a loser LOLLL amirite) seemingly put into a trance by the sight of her leader’s bare tits before her, “fuck unnie, they’re so.. so pretty.. and so soft.” as her fingers gently trace around her nipples, grazing her thumb against one of them. and the sounds karina let out in response to that? music to her fucking ears.
y/n wanted to make her scream. and she might’ve, with how each one was louder than the previous at every movement she made.
but she wanted it louder.
she wanted to make her leader feel good.
so, with no warning whatsoever, she settles her mouth right on one of karina’s nipples, sucking at it gently whilst still groping and massaging the other, the girl’s moans fueling her to continue roaming her tongue all over, sloppier and messier with each second that passes.
“mmh— y/n… t-that’s right, make your u-unnie feel good baby—“ is what karina says as she rubbing the back of y/n’s head and looking down at her. the sight of her closing her eyes, licking and sucking on her boobs like this… making such a mess… practically drooling on them while also gently twisting and playing with the other nipple… it all felt too good. and to top it all off? being praised for her undeniably smoking hot body as she’s getting her tits marked up all prettily?
it wouldn’t be completely insane to say that she cums just from that alone.. right?

Taoba (Aemond Targaryen x Reader x Daemon Targaryen)
Summary: Daemon and Aemond settle their pending score.
Warnings: Aemond being a BRAT. Daemon being a sugar daddy (I guess?) Violence. Targaryen way of conflict resolution.
A/N: Final part of the Muña series. This is very unhealthy, but I needed to give it a satisfactory conclusion that felt in character to me, so it stopped using my brain space.
THERE IS NO Sept in Pentos. At least, not in the part of the city where the manse is located. You do not dare go exploring further than a few timid excursions to the surrounding markets.
Being out in the open makes you antsy. Your departure from Westeros is still too fresh, you have not yet settled into a life where you are not at war. Searching for a Sept in which to pray properly seems too trivial.
You still light your candles, one for each person you have lost, plus another one. For yourself.
Aemond is as unsettled as you are. To him, the loss is greater. He has had to shed his identity, cut his chair and remove the characteristic eye patch and leather clothes for more simple ones. He is now a dragonseed, brought along as a paramour to a happily married couple.
“What can I say?” Daemon had laughed, when questioned about it by a magister. “I love my wife, and she does love her toys.”
It had prompted a roar of laughter from his friends. You weren’t too sure you liked being known as a sexual deviant, but you had little choice in the matter. Everyone had to make sacrifices, after all.
Even Vhagar. She is now known as The Cannibal. The Essoi know so little about dragons that an intimidating name to match the intimidating reptile in their city satisfies them.
Daemon, in contrast, settles in as if he had never been at war. He has already been in one before, and has lost little. He still has his name, his money, and his marriage. He even has his old pentoshi friends. They had greeted him warmly, clapped him in the back, and it was as if he had never left.
While Aemond continues to share your bed, Daemon is content to haunt the place. You worry despite yourself when you realize he is not out whoring or drinking as usual. But you are too busy with your inner turmoil to try to fix him too.
Having run away from the only home you knew leaves you unsure about whom you really are. When the war started, you were different. You would have done anything to protect your people. Now, you were a coward who ran with her tail between her legs at the first hint of trouble.
It was difficult to feel such a passionate love for them when they had started resisting your orders. As soon as the Blacks gained a bit of terrain, they started questioning your leadership. By the end of it, they were cursing your name.
Running was easier, after that. Playing Daemon’s wife again wasn’t.
It all comes to a head one evening when you are asked to sweep into that role again. Daemon has insisted on hosting a dinner for some of his friends, and so, you have little choice but to squeeze yourself into a fine gown he commissioned for you. It seems fair that if he is housing you and your lover, you do something for him.
You plan the night to perfection. It is what you have been raised to do, and you thrive on it. There is such an innate sense of control that comes with choosing a menu, the seating arrangements, the entertainment. You enjoy the task so much, you wish you had put it into practice more in your other life.
Aemond sulks in a corner the whole evening, even when Daemon has gotten him a matching doublet. He seems to dislike the implication of being a bastard too much to enjoy himself in a company that cares little for his origins.
“I hate this dress.” He complains, once you have ushered out the last of Daemon’s friends. Aemond toys with the laces on the back of it, making you frown. “Makes you look washed out. Ugly.”
You flinch. You have never liked discussing your appearance, not after many years of mocking. During a good week, a remark about your looks can set your budding self-esteem back a moon. Hearing Aemond say so during a bad one guts you.
Aemond was supposed to understand you. To see you.
“I happen to like it.” You say, picking up the last goblets of wine and setting them into a tray to be taken down to the kitchen. Your household is sparsely staffed, Daemon’s savings not enough to keep it running at full capacity. You find you don’t really mind. The lack of resources during the war had made you go through much worse, and you find you enjoy the privacy. “I enjoy the fullness of the skirts.”
You are careful to keep your back turned to the men, but you cannot hide the tenseness of your shoulders, the stiffness of your spine. Perhaps the insult stings more because you do like the dress. Despite how tight it was, you had felt pretty after putting it on. The seamstress had complimented you, even.
The style was more form - fitting than what you usually wore, a bit more risky. It had been inspired by what the women here wore, and you knew Daemon wouldn’t let you embarrass him. That fact had prompted your confidence to wear it in the first place. But now, you just feel old and fat.
A hand presses to your back, warm and gentle. You stiffen more, thinking it’s Aemond’s.
“You look beautiful in it.” Daemon compliments, softly. And because he cannot resist it, he throws in a dig at Aemond too. “The boy is just bitter because he can’t pay for anything half as fine.”
“That is not true. I could become a…” Aemond starts, and you groan, pressing your hands to your eyes. You have heard the tale of the sellsword plenty. He is a good swordsman, perhaps good enough to take up that sort of life. But he is out of practice. Most of his battles have been from the dragon, not the horse. Unlike cavalry, dragonback doesn’t provide such experience.
“If you become a sellsword, you will die. And all I did would be in vain.” Daemon sits down, placing his boots on the table. You shove him. It’s not as if any of them do any cleaning, but Aemond is far neater. You do not clean either, but as the person in charge of the servants, you prefer not to be embarrassed by how piggish they can be.
Daemon has gone through great pains to secure you a home and safety. You try not to feel too indebted to him, considering the horrible years of marriage and shame, but cannot help it. He is finally behaving like you were taught a husband is supposed to behave, and it pleases your stupid brain.
He provides for you. Pays for your home, dresses, lets you run a household. He protects you. Keeps you safe from the outcome of the war, rescued you from the likely revolt from your tenants. He makes you happy. Daemon pays to keep Aemond safe and healthy, too.
It messes with your head. You shouldn’t feel grateful, you shouldn’t like him and yet…
Siege mentality. That must be it. Your current situation makes you believe it’s Daemon, Aemond and you against the world.
Aemond doesn’t seem to share the sentiment. He has been behaving oddly ever since you got here. The first week, he had been on edge, wary Daemon was going to murder him in his sleep. The second one, he had not left your bed. And then he had settled into an odd sort of depression that involved making everyone around him as miserable as possible.
Aemond was a man born and bred for war. It wasn't unusual that he was struggling with peace.
“Apologize, Taoba.” Daemon orders. While this is not the first time Aemond lashes out, it is the first time Daemon bothers with demanding an apology. It is also the first time Aemond’s temper has been directed at you.
“I refuse to apologize for my opinion.” Aemond smirks. He toys with his goblet, before leaning in. You know the look in his face. It’s the one he wears when he plans to deliver the killing blow. “The dress makes you look ugly.”
You suppose it is better than being outright called ugly. The thought isn’t as comforting as you thought.
“An opinion no one asked for.” Daemon’s tone is icy. You look at him, begging him to let it go. But Daemon has never listened to you, not in all the years you have been married. He won’t start now. “And a false one. I can’t just voice the opinion that the sky is red. Now, apologize or…”
“Or?” Aemond challenges. This time, you turn your pleading eyes to him. Out of the two of them, he is slower to enact his revenge ploys, while Daemon chooses to take immediate and decisive action. You hope that means he can be persuaded to postpone the confrontation.
“Aemond, why don’t we go to bed?” You ask, voice soft and meek. But Aemond’s gaze is fixed on Daemon.
The older man smirks. He leans back on his chair, forcing it to balance precariously on its hind legs.
“I’ll make you.”
It happens faster than you can react. One second they are glaring at each other, the next Aemond has lunged over the table, sending the goblets clattering. He punches Daemon, making him fall off the chair. But before Aemond can get any other punch in, Daemon grabs him by the hair and slams him against the table. You scream.
“My goblets! The tablecloth!” You realize you sound insane, but you feel it too. Your hands tremble. One would think war has desensitized you to violence, but it is one thing to know a battle is being fought and another to see the man you love get beaten by your husband.
You make an aborted motion towards them, unsure if trying to get between them is a good idea. You settle for clenching your hands into fists, powerless to stop the situation around you.
Daemon jerks Aemond upright, holding his hands between his back.
“Aōla gēlȳni iēnkā, taobus!” You can tell Daemon is mocking him. Familiar as you are with his methods, you step forward, hovering.
Were Daemon mocking you, this would be the part where you would defend yourself. Aemond, instead, simply smirks.
“Sa Tida, Kepus.”
Daemon’s face turns into an expression of absolute, murderous rage. His grip on Aemond tightens. He turns to you, almost in… Disbelief? You aren’t sure. You do not know what they are saying, but it can’t be good.
Aemond blushes with pleasure. He smiles a cocky grin, and his chest puffs up with arrogant satisfaction.
It is only at that display that color returns to Daemon’s face.
“I must admit, you had me fooled.” He releases Aemond, and gives him a shove. “But your games will not unnerve me tonight. Not again. We will settle this.”
“Daemon…”
“As much as it pains me, he is right.” Aemond sneers. “There is a debt to be paid, Muña. Do not interfere.”
He gives you a warning glance, before bowing his head. It’s the last time he looks at you.
His attention is now focused on Daemon. He looks up at him, body taut with fear. If you didn’t know Aemond that well, you would miss it. But to your well-trained eyes, it’s obvious. He is terrified.
Aemond ends up lowering his eye again. Daemon’s fierce stare seems to have him unbalanced, unable to hide his emotions as well as he usually does. Knowing Daemon, he must be delighted his intimidation tactics are making him squirm.
Daemon thrives on fear and humiliation. He has perfected his methods through the years, his reputation as a rogue only aiding him in his task. His eyes are like daggers. Instinctually, you know that is better to stay silent for now.
Aemond seems to share your thoughts. He averts his eyes, face red with embarrassment. You wonder what has Daemon said to him that he is so out of sorts.
“You should be kneeling.” Daemon finally says, his eyes on you. For a second, you think the instruction is actually meant for you, but before you can do anything about it, Daemon has turned back to Aemond. He towers over him, somehow, despite being the same height. “You're such a pathetic creature.”
Daemon steps towards him. Aemond takes a step back, and Daemon smirks. He can probably sense the weakness in the same manner wolves sense fear.
“Insulting your woman after claiming to be better than I. Hypocrite. But what more could you ask from a Hightower.” His face tight with anger, Daemon unsheathes his dagger and grabs Aemond's chin, tilting it up.
Never in a million lives you thought you would see Daemon defending your honor. How life surprises us all.
You pity Aemond. His skin is turning red where Daemon is grabbing him, and he is breathing hard, eye closed. He seems to be expecting pain, and it fills you with the urge to comfort him.
Aemond shouldn’t be having to brace himself. This is a storm of your own making. But he has asked you not to interfere, and you do not wish to wound his pride. You stay quiet.
The dagger Daemon holds is now pressed to Aemond’s throat and this time, it is too much. You advance on them.
“Stop it.”
Daemon ignores you. He leans in, close enough that he could kiss Aemond. His hair tickles Aemond’s face.
“And you still fucked my wife without my permission.” He snarls. “Open your mouth,”
Aemond swallows. He seems cowed, for the first time in his life.
“Stop this. Right this second.” You repeat, but neither heed you. Much to your dismay, Aemond makes eye contact with you before opening his mouth. Daemon’s dagger brushes against his lips. He shakes like a frightened bunny, but he still doesn’t attempt to defend himself.
“Open wider.”
Aemond has no choice but to obey. You are struck by how young he looks, how young he truly is. At least ten years your junior, twenty or so than Daemon. He has been a man for such little time, and yet, has done much more horrible things than most people twice his age.
The lesser of those sins is bedding a married woman.
Daemon’s voice is harsh.
“I said wider!” Aemond opens his mouth wider, obediently. “Now, stick out your tongue.”
“… Why don’t we all calm down..?” You feel your hands shaking. Daemon is capable of cutting his tongue. You know it. Aemond knows it. And still, he sticks out his tongue like an obedient dog.
“Your tongue would make a fine gift to my wife. An apology, for all the insults I sent her way.” Daemon smirks. “And a penance, for how you dared treat her, petulant child that you are.”
Your eyes sting. Something like a sob surges on your chest, but it doesn’t get out, caged between your ribs. It takes residence there, caught.
It’s unbelievable. Once, you had prided yourself on knowing Daemon. You had been so finely tuned to his moods, out of an urge for survival, that you could tell with just a glance what he was thinking. His anger had always been transparent to you.
This time, you aren’t sure if he is serious about cutting Aemond’s tongue for the slight, or if it is about the infidelity.
“I do not want his tongue. Daemon. Stop it.” You beg, stumbling back into your chair. You hold your head between your hands, realizing this is punishment for you too. For daring to be an adulterous wife.
Aemond’s face is pale. He is trembling slightly, and his tongue is caught between Daemon’s finger. It makes him drool. He attempts to pull back.
Daemon's eyes flash with anger. There is a dark satisfaction in his face.
“Don't move.” Daemon's voice is low and sinister. “Keep it there. Less my pulse falters, and I leave you without a tongue before deciding.”
“Don't!” You plead.
Aemond doesn't move, the blade still pressed to his tongue, his mouth open.
Daemon softens at the obedience. Perhaps because he has always liked control a bit too much.
“Good boy.” He grins. Aemond sends him a look made of pure hatred, but keeps still. His eye is glued to Daemon’s, set on not backing down.
If someone doesn’t intervene, something bad is about to happen. And there is no one else here, but you.
You stand up, furious.
“That is enough! I happen to like his tongue where it is, inside his mouth and unharmed.”
“You're nothing but a sniveling coward.” Daemon presses the dagger harder into Aemond's tongue, taunting him. “What's the matter? Do you like the taste of the dagger on your tongue? The feel of the metal against your flesh? Sick little boy.”
Daemon laughs. Aemond closes his eye, but both you and Daemon see it. A single tear falls down his face, mouth still wide open, dagger pressed inside. The sight is hauntingly beautiful, like one of the tapestries Daemon used to hang around showcasing Targaryen deviance.
“Do you like that?” Daemon leans in closer, his lips brushing the shell of his ear. You know through first-hand experience how devastating that feels. Somehow, seeing them together, Daemon holding Aemond almost in a lover’s embrace, makes you throb with shameful arousal. “Being completely helpless and humiliated? It should hurt. It shows you your place. On the ground, at my mercy.”
Aemond tries to close his mouth, but Daemon's hands keep his face pushed back as he presses the tip of the blade into his tongue. Aemond's face tightens, a look of pain flashing across his eyes, but he can't say anything. The only sound out of his mouth is a painful groan.
Daemon's expression is cold and hard.
“It feels good, doesn't it? Just like kissing the cunt of a married woman?"
“Daemon! Enough!” And this time, you finally gather the courage to do what needs to be done. You get between the two of them and shove Daemon out of the way. “That’s enough.”
Daemon licks his lips. Aemond swallows, a hint of blood in the edge of his mouth. You wonder if he is tasting copper.
“What a pathetic display of weakness. I've seen a thousand pigs slaughtered with more bravery than you.” Daemon sheathes the dagger. Aemond’s face turns frighteningly angry. Torching the Riverlands kind of angry.
His breathing is deep and labored, like a hurt animal. You rush to his side and hug him.
“You are bold to speak of weakness…” Aemond says, with great effort. His body shudders against yours, and it is a testament to how shaken he must be that he doesn’t jerk out of your grip. “When it was your own what led your wife to my bed. Make no mistake, Muña. An old dog cannot learn new tricks.” He then spits blood at Daemon’s face.
Daemon wipes his face with his sleeve, horrifyingly calm. He then looks at both of you, and bursts into genuine laughter.
“I was wrong, boy. You have balls.” He gives him a hand, helping him to a chair. “We might make a man out of you yet.”
Aemond accepts his help without fear. You stare.
“Both of you are unhinged.”
Daemon turns to you.
“Oh? Then what would you do in my situation?”
“Apologize? Agree to move on and let go of the past?” You offer, weakly.
Daemon scoffs at the suggestion. “Apologize? Apologize! You think that will solve everything?” But he does look over at Aemond, who has now relaxed in his chair, exhausted. “I suppose I should try to be diplomatic, if only for your sake. Fine. I apologize for calling you terrible things, trying to murder you and to cut out your tongue. How does that sound, Taoba?”
Aemond swallows again. He seems unsure if he should be trusting Daemon’s words. He gives you a look. You shrug. If they want to try normal conflict resolution, you won’t stop them.
“Thank you. I apologize for fucking her without your permission.”
Daemon gives him a small smile. Aemond meets his eyes. A strange mixture of emotions seems to pass between them. Daemon looks as if he is seeing Aemond for the first time. There is a new interest in his eyes, one you do not like at all.
Or perhaps, you like it too much. You can’t decide.
“Is that all, then? Or do you have more to say, nephew?” He purrs.
Aemond scratches his nape, embarrassed. He doesn’t seem to know how to react to being flirted with. Because this is what this is. Daemon is looking at him with utter hunger.
“Nothing.”
Daemon looks him over, inspecting Aemond like a predator sizing up his prey.
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
Daemon studies him for a moment, not looking convinced.
“Someone looks guilty.” He is like a shark, smelling blood in the water. Aemond looks painfully awkward, nothing like the cocky young man that seduced you moons ago. Deciding to put him out of his misery, you attempt to shift Daemon’s attention to you.
“I apologize for bedding him.” You offer, in your meekest tone.
Daemon doesn't acknowledge your apology, his eyes still fixed on Aemond, filled with curiosity.
“I accept your apology.” Then his eyes harden, his face turns serious. “Now, come here. Both of you.”
Aemond’s eye widens, but obediently gets up and creeps closer. Daemon reaches a hand towards you. You go easily.
“That wasn't so hard, was it?” Daemon teases, his eyes never leaving Aemond's face, searching for some hint of weakness.
Aemond nods silently, too intimidated to speak. Daemon grabs him by the back of his neck, firmly. He presses his forehead to his.
“Aōha ēdruta vāedas. Vezof jin azantys, vestri sȳz. Se ābra dracarys jēdo nūm.”
Aemond nods, solemnly. As if he were accepting a vow. Then, they both turn towards you.
“Consider this my repentance.” Daemon says, with a smirk. Aemond looks properly chided. Contrite, even.
“I apologize for being rude. The dress makes your cleavage look phenomenal. I was just… Jealous, I suppose. I used to protect you and now…” He offers, sounding much like a child who has gotten caught with his hands on the cookie jar.
“Now you find yourself in the unusual situation of having me as the protector. I have been shielding you from Daemon and Daemon has been…” You realize it as you speak it. Aemond had come to rescue from your solitude, and your evil, up to no good husband. You had been his damsel in distress, until you had stepped into the role of the protector and Daemon into…
“Providing.” The man himself barks out a laugh. “Seven Hells, am I a stand-in for Viserys? I thought I had issues.”
Aemond blushes.
“It isn’t like that.”
But Daemon insists. He takes a lock of your hair and twists it between his fingers.
“Fuck, I married Alicent. Fucking Alicunt.”
“I am not her!” You protest.
“You do look like my mother a bit. In the right light.” Aemond concedes, and you don’t know if to laugh or cry. “I… I want to do better. And I…”
“I want in. In what you two have.” Daemon’s smirk turns more devious, gently tucking the strand of hair he was still holding behind your ear. “Normally, I would threaten you with kicking you out, or hurting your lover over here. But I have been told it is in bad taste to try to force myself into your bed.”
So he had learned his lesson from the last time. You fight off the pleased smile.
“So. The choice is yours. My nephew and I reached an agreement already, one that will be void without your consent. Otherwise, we can go as we are.” Daemon finishes his offer, placing his hands behind his back.
You look between Aemond and him. Aemond seems encouraging.
“Will you be content to pay for your wife and her lover the rest of our lives? How selfless.” You arch an eyebrow, doubtful. It sounds too unlike him.
Daemon shrugs.
“What can I say? You inspire selfless devotion.”
“He is right. You do.” Aemond says, hugging you from behind. You feel him bury his face on your hair, quietly grounding himself. He has had a taxing evening, for sure.
“What do you think of this?” You ask him, voice low.
“If he is involved, I would feel more settled. Like it is not charity.” Aemond says, kissing your temple.
“I see you have learned from whores, haven’t you?” Daemon mocks, creeping closer. “Being my kept man and my kept woman. How lucky it is to be a prince.”
“Cunt.” You say, giving him a shove.
“Your cunt.” Daemon smirks. He leers at you. “And what a delicious one you seem to have…”
You slap a hand over his mouth, embarrassed. Aemond fights with a smile, and it is that which convinces you.
“Fine. You win. And we actually prefer trophy wife and boy toy.”
“Talk for yourself.” Aemond tugs at your hair, and you laugh.
