Alert: this is a very stupid post and not to be taken seriously.

So when it was revealed the first attack on Keyleth was Ludinus trying to test drawing out Vax, folks were pointing out that Ludinus would have had to stay up to date on Vox Machina romances in order to have the information to make that plan, which is very funny. I posit an additional hypothetical: if the preliminary attack had accidentally been fatal for Keyleth herself (I say accidentally because Ludinus would want to wait to execute the plan in full later, so wouldn't have killed her then) then Ludinus would have lost his bait and would have to figure out another way to draw out Vax.

And you know what that means. Matchmaking. Get the sad bird man to fall in love again so he can threaten the new person. Ludinus using every iota of his skill in manipulation and patience and influencing of events to set up Situations, and he needs it because as a celestial champion Vax is not just walking around into your average coffee shop. He becomes the king of tropes. He reads trash romance to get ideas and runs into Caleb at a naughty book store in Rexxentrum and it's very awkward for both of them. With centuries of experience and villainy, HOW has it come to this-

Ninjago Dragons Rising Theory Time!!!!

So on a discord server I'm part of, I brought up the idea of what a common theme might be for Dragons Rising seasons.

Obviously, spoiler warnings for what's happened in Dragons Rising this far.

This idea is as follows:

Each season, a different source dragon will come to Lloyd/the ninja for help with preventing them from being taken or something like that. And along the way, Lloyd will learn a new thing about how he will be a Conduit for the Source Dragons.

Further more, the first part of the season (given how Ninjago seems to be dropping episodes for Dragons Rising) will be Lloyd and the others learning how to manage whatever stress/results/thing he learns came from what they had to do for the source dragons.

The second part of the season will be the introduction of the next source dragon and whatever task Lloyd and the others have to complete for them. As well as completing said task and Lloyd learning whatever he was supposed to.

Before I explain my reasoning, I'm going to give a quick overview of the two seasons we have and key points to back up my theory.

Season One - Part One (Roughly)

Just after the merge, Lloyd meets his students Sora, Arin, and Wyldfyer and reunites with all the ninja minus Jay (and Cole?). Lloyd and the others fight against Soras home government of Imperium and they meet the first officially introduced source dragon, The Source Dragon of Energy. Lloyd becomes a "conduit" of the dragons power to help dragons to escape.

Season One - Part Two (Roughly)

Events called merge quakes threaten the merged lands existence so they go on a quest to find the dragon cores. During the end of the world (basically) Lloyd uses his ability as a conduit combined with the dragon cores to stop the merge quakes forever(?) and frees the Source Dragon of Energy.

Season Two - Part One

Lloyd begins having horrific visions that show him an event called the Blood Moon. He speaks to the source dragons and is told by a vision from them to find teachers. The ninja figure out Ras is going to use the Blood Moon to free "the Forbidden Five" after they go to the teachers, two ninja dragons named Egalt and Rontu. They teach the ninja Rising Dragon Technique to fight against Ras. The ninja fight against Ras, Kai is lost when a member of the forbidden five escapes, Bonzle(one of Coles adopted kids /j) is also lost. Lloyd learns how to cope with his visions kinda.

Season Two - Part Two

Lloyd is approached by the Source Dragon of Motion who tells him he has to go to the Tournament of Sources and compete to win so he can stop Ras. Lloyd and the ninja go to the tournament where they are reunited with Jay, whose working for Ras and has no memory of the others. Sora wins the tournament and the other members of the Forbidden Five are released. Kai and Bonzle return and Arin leave to follow Ras, believing he knows where his parents are.

So here's where my explanation comes into play:

S1Pt1 Lloyd and the others meets the Source Dragon of Energy and he becomes the conduit. In a way, that led them to discovering how to solve the Merge Quakes which they take care of in S1Pt2. In other words, solving the merge quakes is the result of the Source Dragon of Energy making Lloyd the conduit. Reading between the lines, we can kinda see Lloyd learning how to manage the power of being a Conduit by using the Dragon Cores in the finale of S1Pt2. Also in season 1, Nya stays in Cloud Kingdom to learn mroe about Merge Quakes and finds something about the Dragon Cores and Source Dragons, information Lloyd and the others is able to understand now that they have met a source dragon and knows kinda what to do.

S2Pt1 gets a little interesting. Lloyd meets with the Source Dragons and they briefly are surprised a "mortal" is among them and they discuss something that indicates a long process of Lloyd becoming intricated into the Source Dragons and only ever referred to him as the conduit. Also in S2Pt1, we see the stress that is caused by Lloyd becoming the Conduit again being more effects from S1Pt1 and the Source Dragon of Energy. The events of S2Pt1 are specifically caused by the vision the source dragons gave Lloyd, almost as if becoming a Third Fang Ninja was part of his journey somehow AND learning how to cope with his visions. Then in S2Pt2, we meet the Source Dragon of Motion who asks Lloyd to participate in the Tournament of Sources to win so he prevents the plans of Ras and protects the Source Dragons. He ends up taking all of the ninja and is under the impression he had to be the one to win, so gets upset at himself when Sora does. The SDoM eventually tells Lloyd that's not what she meant and gave him an item to call upon a source dragon if needed and says they now see the need for Lloyd too.

With the new set leaks, we see the Source Dragon of Focus and the Source Dragon of Chaos, foreshadowing their appearance in Season 3 perhaps

In a shortened way(Key - Dragon Intro, Intro Result, Event Source Dragon Guides/Causes, Guided Event Result, Lloyd's Lesson):

Season 1 Part 1: Source Dragon of Energy introduction, Lloyd becomes a Conduit, The Ninja can use the Cloud Kingdom's knowledge Season 1 Part 2: Dragon cores are gathered, Merge Quakes end, Lloyd learns how to control the power of a Conduit Season 2 Part 1: Lloyd's visions from being a Conduit haunt him, The Ninja find Rontu and Egalt, The Blood Moon's impact is controlled, Lloyd learns how to manage his visions Season 2 Part 2: Source Dragon of Motion introduction, The Ninja go to the Tournament of Sources, The Ninja keep elemental powers out of the Forbidden Five's hands, Lloyd learns he doesn't have to do everything himself

You see where I'm going with it? it's a cycle, one I see continuing that leads Lloyd down the path of becoming the conduit and the ninja becoming the protectors of the Merged Lands like they were for Ninjago.

Oh, and, I saw this post from Doc Wyatt about Lloyd's Dragon form. It's real I promise (I can provide proof). I also think this journey for him will help Lloyd come to terms with his Dragon Heritage and maybe unlock his dragon form like he did his Oni Form.

Unknown Soldier

She did not know what went on behind those eyes, she could never read his thoughts, nor could she even begin to understand the complexity that was him, Perseus, and so had given up trying years since. Admiral Adler was unable to hide his agitation when regarding his temporary position grounded at the base, worsened by his daily routine being confined to his office which overlooked the growing wharf and storehouse. He was always saddled with new documents, new charters, new paperwork, workers and soldiers coming to ask him question after question. It was his duty, for the time being, but he couldn’t deny that there was a desperate itch that wracked his body every time his gaze wandered from the task at hand, drawn back to the glistening sea. He swore that it beckoned him, whispered encouragement to go back to his ship and sail out to the horizon.

“Sure,” he said, his elbow now resting on the table and his knuckles just resting at his temple as he leaned, his eyes steadily watching how she moved. She was beautiful, in a way that seemed effortless for her, from her reddened lips, the long lashes, the slight creases of dimples at the corners of her mouth when she spoke. Even as she stood, hip cocked out to one side as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other, all he could think about was how attractive she was.  What caught him the most, though, were her eyes. They were a dark brown, with small flecks of honey, and when they were on him he felt a warmth rush over him. They were soft, kind, with a slight sense of tiredness clinging to the hue. He didn’t want her to look away.

I get what they're saying, but it's actually *not* like Rick Riordan broke into your house and moved all of your furniture.

It's more like you *bought* furniture and installment services from Uncle Rick's Home Goods in 2008, a lovely niche shop focused on serving our underserved community of neurodivergents. And then, despite your furniture from that time still being exactly as it was when you bought it and billions of exact copies being for sale, when Uncle Rick said, "Hey guys, I'm going to make this same line of furniture out of completely different material, and Im adopting a new installation tactic, but it's going to stick to its general function and purpose," you giddily clapped your hands and said, "I can't wait to see the exact same thing made out of entirely different materials!" Forgetting, of course, that that is literally impossible.

And **then** you came home and found that Rick (whom you left the door open for!) moved all of your furniture slightly to the left. Also he replaced every item with near-identical copies.

"I liked it the way it was very much, thank you!" Then don't get the update, idiot. It is so optional to watch this show. You had to wait a week between every episode. You had to torrent every 40 minute video on a weekly basis, or drive to visit your one family member who won't give up Disney+ anyway. And when things started proving to be different, *you* made the conscious choice to see where things were going. Now you're mad and miffed that it wasn't as faithful an adaptation as The Lion King 2019 was to the original 💀. Coming from an AuDHDer, please understand that your neurodivergent rigidity can only be accommodated so much, my friend. Real people worked hard to make this. Different people from the book's production. *More* people than the book's production. And you know what's crazy is that, despite all of this, some of the tone of minor scenes may have changed, but nothing major truly did. We did it-- we got a faithful adaptation!! If it's not your cup of tea, if your mind's eye just cannot be topped, it's all good. Just say, "this seemed cooler in my head." But oh my god, I'm tired of the Rick slander. The overall crew slander. As if people didn't work their asses off to make this show happen at all. "Rick Riordan broke into my home--" you let him in. *You* watched the show; you let him in and consented to whatever the fuck he was going to do (which...wasn't even much).

If you are scared of coming home and finding your special interest moved slightly to the left, stop letting the author back in through your front door.
