Thinking about what honorifics people used on Riko while speaking to him in japanese. The master probably used -kun, never something like -chan ecc not even as a very young kid.

He and kevin then started living together at like 8/9, and are the same age, so it should be -kun BUT i can see either Riko demanding -san from the start, or later on.

From jean he'd ask for something even higher, like -sama. Would he have to switch it out for something else when the Master is also present?

The master would be referred to as -sama too, for obvious reasons.

I only have a vague knowledge of japanese though so if someone with more knowledge wants to express an opinion please add on.

Would there be a difference in how riko referred to the master vs other people? (Think maybe like, subordinates of the moriyama family). What would these subordinates use on Riko? Would they have to use something else on Tetsuji when Kengo is present, or can they both be sama?

If Jean was a chess piece, he’d be a pawn. Not because of the expected reasons like the fact that he has been used as one for years, but because it’s the only piece that can make itself something better when it reaches the end of the board. The Ravens held him back for years, doing everything in their power to make sure he didn’t make it to the other end of the board, to make sure he didn’t see what he could really be. But with the Trojans, they don’t tear him down, they lift him up. And he makes it to the end of the chessboard. I don’t know what other piece he’d become but a pawn has a chance to better itself and move on from its role. A king is a king and a queen is a queen but a pawn could be anything.

What if it was ichirou the one that named riko? What if he choose a girl name for a still unborn sibling, hoping it would be a girl so that he could keep her? (Or, more probably, hoping it'd be a girl so he would get to keep their mom. )

Then a boy was born, but the name stuck, the voice the future head of the family louder than custom.

honestly the best partner for kevin would probably be a random man he meets in like, the produce section of whole foods five years down the line and who knows nothing at all about exy, with no plans of learning any time soon -- and kevin being kevin, it kinda kills him at first, but this guy talks to him about history and classical music and travelling and has maybe the kindest eyes kevin has ever seen so hey, it might be worth a shot
