Can't believe xiyao went through a cottage core phase and it didn't even get a chapter of its own
#though I'd watch the hell out of an entire series of lan xichen getting up at usual lan-time to bake bread and get flour all over the#kitchen and himself#and kinda failing miserably#so no scone for breakfast as planned#and they boil eggs instead#they tend to a-yao's little vegetable garden in the afternoon#then a-yao goes through the mysteries of bakery with xichen once again#but this time a-yao messes it up cause he can't concentrate because he just touched xichen's hand and brain went blank#arggh the simple things you know?#xiyao#jin guangyao#lan xichen#mdzs#the untamed#enough you're going in the queue

Started as a luxury chocolatier in 2013, Valerie Confections Glendale flagship offers chocolates (bars, truffles), toffees, petit fours, cakes, basque cheesecake, pies, muffins, granola, jams, espresso drinks, etc. The coffee crunch cake was once featured on The Best Thing I Ever Ate. The gift boxes and packaging are beautiful. Everything is high quality here.
Mushroom & cheese hand pie ($7): Buttery, flaky pot pie crust with a savory filling of mushrooms and gruyere – so yummy, love mushrooms with cheese
Crème fraiche scone ($5): thick scones, chewier than usual – different, slightly tangy, and not dry
Pumpkin petit four ($4): layers of moist spice cake, ganache, enrobed in a thin layer of white chocolate
Assorted truffles: these are small and the centers were silky and moist. The Moroccan mint flavor paired well with the chocolate. The earl grey flavor was harder to detect. Was given a free truffle too.
I think they have afternoon tea service on weekends. They have a happy hour deal from 3 PM – 5 PM, 50% off pastries.

#I WANNA GO THERE AGAIN IT'S BEEN 14ISH YEARS AT THIS POINT WAAAAHHHHHHHH#missing the denmark vacations from my childhood a lot tonight.......#another sign i might be autistic: i always requested to go visit the same exact tourist destinations EACH YEAR#the fishing and seafaring museum the viking museum candle making workshop bunker museum legoland beach#sand sculptures blåbjerg outlook spot#go to the same bakery for the same afternoon treats of 2 smørkrans every single day of vacation. the same 2 supermarkets#always drinking peppermint tea on denmark vacations because that's the denmark vacation tea no changing that#frying up various mushrooms my parents collected in the forest for dinner one night.#always buying the firewood for the stove in the living room at the same firewood station#always the same brand of fresh cow's milk and a big bag of plain cornflakes from the same supermarket#always the same always the same FOR YEARS#of course my parents did some other new things with me some years but i never had as much fun as when doing the same things we already did#for years before. idk. maybe i miss the sameness and predictably of it all? and the coziness of the vacation cabins?#i just. miss all of it tbh

so the thing is my grandma is the world's most anxious person so we agreed that i would Not tell her about me getting surgery until it's done
but it's like so hard to hide things from her like she's got some kind of bullshit sixth sense that tells her to call my phone when i'm having appointments
#and i have to be like OH HI SORRY I'M UH. I'M AT THE (can't say hospital) UH. BAKERY???#like yesterday my mom and i were on the 2 hour drive to the hospital where i'm getting surgery right#for the like. pre-op anesthesiologist appointment so they can check i'm not gonna die from the sleep gas#and she calls me while we're on the road and she's like ''hey wanna come over this afternoon ?'' and i'm like MMM WELL. CAN'T SORRY BYYYYE#she never does this btw. she's never the one who asks me to come over#usually i'm the one who's like ''hey can i come today ?''#eurgh this is gonna be a whole thing#i'm staying at the hospital for 4 days next month and i just Know that she's gonna lose sleep#like. day 1 i'm just checking in and having last minute check-ups done so i can still call her in the evening like i do every day#day 2 is the big snip i'm gonna be passed out or high for most of the day so. maybe won't be able to talk to her ?#in which case mom is gonna be calling her and explaining everything.#so day 2 she's not gonna sleep because she'll be too worried and day 3 and day 4.#until i'm back home and she has seen me be alive with her own eyes she is Not going to rest. and even then.#god.
