Afojiko:

Their relationship in canon is just fascinating to me; because on the one hand, you have Toshi, who had been trying to get closer to Endeavor, and on the other, you have Enji, who wanted nothing to do with him, but still could think about no one else but All Might for decades

Season 1 Endeavor and Dark Might do be having a lot in common, actually, when it comes to how they saw All Might. Hm. Now I'm genuinely thinking about how an encounter between these two would go... (They'd rip each other to shreds)

tangent but i couldn't find a good way to integrate this into your question choices but i must be heard. as an advocate for pillow princess trophy wife all for one in afojiko. this is vital that's why it's above the cut.

15. Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving?

oh this is tricky. this is so tricky. cuz on one hand i want this to be mushy as hell as say 'i love you' all the time when leaving but also like. in 364 when ujiko left the "Allow me to speak my mind. Your voice, your eyes, your smile…bring joy to my heart." recording? this was THEE "I Love You" Goodbye.

like i am always battling between them saying i love you and meaning it vs. saying i love you for the sake of saying it vs. never explicitly saying i love you but using "i love you" innuendo but no matter what, with the implication of afo's impending demise and ujiko's jail time. that was ujiko's "i love you" before leaving. i keep going back to that scene like it genuinely drives me insane i have to dig into it.

28. What are there thoughts on pet names? Do they have any?

you know how cartoon henchmen will say things like "my vileness" "your wickedness" shit like that? that can absolutely be the kind of pet names ujiko uses for afo. like in a jokey way. and also in a bad dirty talk kind of way.

afo is boring and just says things like "my dear" or whatever he is NOT creative in this department.

52. Describe their weekend getaway?

you know that cave that all for one has everyone hiding out on in the third act? well he has a lot of lurid tales about the particularly vigorous events that he and ujiko used to host there if you get what i mean. orgies it's an orgy island and all for one is openly like When I Finish Conquering The World And Break My Husband Out Of Jail. Orgy Island Will See A Grand Return.

but if they aren't doing orgy island they are going to a ridiculously expensive hotel and holing up in their room the entire weekend to binge watch grey's anatomy on the tv and then give the hotel a 1 star review.

Shigaraki knew about Eri, and I think he wanted to steal her from Overhaul, having told Toga and Twice to do so.

Extremely flimsy evidence, but we know that Shigaraki demanded that Overhaul tell him all about his plan.

And Overhaul complies. Shigaraki leaves the meeting knowing about the bullets, their purposes, and that Overhaul is still working on the final version. Presumably, he knows about Eri.

Presumably, he tells this to Toga and Twice when he assigns them to the Shie Hassaikai, because during the arc, we do get two solid lines from Toga and Twice about their intentions regarding Eri:

In Chapter 156, Twice tells Clonepress about ‘the kid at the center of all this’ and asks him to capture said child.

Later, in Chapter 160, in a call to Mr. Compress (and the rest of the League), Toga implies that they had intended to grab ‘the girl in the middle of all this’.

Now, as for why Shigaraki might have wanted Eri— that’s completely inconclusive. Maybe he wanted to just take away the core of Overhaul’s operation so Overhaul’s entire plan would collapse. Maybe he intended to hand the girl over to the Doctor, who can surely make use of Eri’s quirk and replicate Overhaul’s experiments.

We know that Shigaraki wanted the bullets; wanted to make copies of them, even asking Twice to use his Double quirk for it (Chapter 230); and Shigaraki knew that the Doctor can successfully finish or replicate them, which is why he wasn’t too hung up about whether or not the bullets he ended up obtaining were the final product or not.

Stealing the bullets were the main goal.

So was taking Eri backup for the bullets? Better to have the original source ‘just in case’? Or taking her is just another way to fuck over Overhaul? Both possible explanations.

the third possibility, is, of course, Shigaraki wanted to the same thing the Heroes wanted: to rescue Eri.

Of course, it’s the not same quality rescue. Shigaraki likely would’ve handed Eri over to the Doctor, who likely would’ve just stashed her in one of his orphanages, and she would’ve been raised as just another one of AFOjiko’s ‘twisted’ kids. But she probably wouldn’t have been dissected everyday like she had been while with Overhaul, and she would’ve joined the AFOjiko Kids Family. Low bar, but that is better than staying with Overhaul.

(this does depend on Shigaraki having some inkling about the orphanages. I imo want to say he does; if he didn’t, though, I guess maybe he would’ve handed over Eri to the Doctor expecting her to be Noumu material, so not a rescue at all.)

Still. Shigaraki had known about Eri, the girl in the middle of all this. It’s implied that he had wanted Toga and Twice to capture this girl. We will never know why, exactly… but what we do know is that Shigaraki has his distorted kindness and maybe this was part of that.
