I am assuming since you sent this to me with "Lata and Féanne" in the caption that this is who I'm writing for lol

1. Who first brought up the option of marriage? Was it an easy topic? Wellll, if we are being technical, Féanne brought it up first, because she wanted her family to believe Lata was her fiancé (to get them off her back about marrying some strange noble). BUT he ended up going along with the ruse down to fighting a duel for her hand! After that, they don't talk about their hypothetical "wedding" for quite a while - maybe a year and a half of very laidback courting - before Féanne starts to wonder...she's sworn off marriage, but that was before she met someone like Lata (and, if he's being honest with himself, he thought much the same way). He isn’t one to wear his heart on his sleeve, and she doesn't want to make him uncomfortable...so she just drops hints: comments on engagement rings she sees out in shops, or even about the jewlery he makes: "That would look gorgeous as a wedding ring!" If he mentions an old friend settling down, she might just quip, "Oh, good for him, wonder when if we'll be next!" And he doesn't really give any indication of how he feels...till he spends weeks tinkering away with the details of an engagement ring, while Féanne’s gone from his lab on her days off, and he shyly keeps it in his pocket On The Day Off when he finally sees her - and, as a proper knight should propose, he draws his sword, gets down on one knee before it, and pops the question...!

6. Who were the first people to find out about the engagement? How did they react? I definitely think Lata would want to keep it private far more than Féanne would. However, Féanne would respect Lata's wishes and keep the news to tell immediate friends/colleagues (i.e. Shirayuki and co.) and her twin brother. She wouldn’t tell her parents or older brother (since as far as they know, she is already engaged anyway and has been for almost 2 years), and Lata would probably just write his own family to inform them eventually. I can see the Lyrias crew all being pretty happy for them, especially Shirayuki and Yuzuri, the younger boys (Ryuu and Kirito) not particularly caring one way or another (Kirito might go "Huh, I guess Mister Lata really does have people who like him after all" lol). BUT OBI. OBI MY BOY is gonna have a FIELD DAY. Claps Lata on the back and asks him what on earth he did to snag such a catch as Féanne. Inquires how Lata will be a dutiful husband if he's too busy looking at rocks. Might even mention to Shirayuki later if she thinks Féanne got bribed or dared into wedding him 😭 He means it all in good fun of course, doesn't mean to go too far. And as for Féanne’s twin brother...he's really, truly happy for her that she found someone who loves her unconditionally.

9. Show us a mood/stimboard of their wedding's general aesthetic.

It was an outdoor wedding at Lata's family estate (most convenient and most private way to do it) with immediate friends and family (basically the least number of people they could get away with inviting, lol! But I do believe Lata and Féanne would invite Prince Zen with Shirayuki of course...and yes even Obi though that would be Féanne insisting hehe). Féanne is certainly not one for a traditional gown and Lata would likely have a hand in decorating it. Also I cheated here and picked some images for their honeymoon!! They rent a private cottage by a beach known for its exquisite beach combing. Much time is spent looking for shiny rocks and eating tasty food.

12. Do either of them play music while walking down the aisle (if they do at all)? If yes, show us their song. Hmm...I think Lata would prefer no, Féanne would be pretty indifferent one way or the other, so they just stick to peace and quiet. It's an outdoor wedding and so they just get the sounds of nature, lol.

Lata: "better than expected."

If we're talking scenes my favs are whenever the OT3 or OT5 are just vibing together and living their wholesome and silly slice of life all together (OT3 Lyrias date, OT5 sleepover before coronation ect ect...)

Lyrias👏arc👏wasn't👏that👏good👏 it was quite boring in fact IM ENDING MY SILENCE

It will never be as good as the other arcs no matter how cool the winter aesthetic is and no matter how cute and fun the new characters are. The plot itself was ehhh and the pandemic and OT3 date was probably the most interesting thing that had happened there. It will never be Tanbarun or Bergatt arc and that's on that 💅

AND ANOTHER THING! omg I just remembered. Shirayuki leaving her patient in the Perfume arc just like that (girlie was traumatized and recovering still) and going with Obi and Eisetsu to rescue Ryuu and Kageya was quite pointless imo (and bit ooc for Shirayuki? Is it just me??) Like I understand it was about Ryuu so ofc she came but I don't think she played that crucial part in the rescuing (she noticed the secret msg from Ryuu and knew about the herbs effects so she was a good addition but I just can't get over 'leaving your sick and very traumatized patient moments after the accident' move) 🤷🏻‍♀️

16. Something that you had wished had happened

I wish we got to explore more of the characters pasts and backstories. AND BRING TOROU AND MIHAYA BACK! Torou could have been a great fuel for Obi and his character development....a missed opportunity man 😭 I think sensei makes the mistake of making interesting and appealing side characters just to forget about them later a lot (?), even when they are relevant to the plot or not. It's a shame, really. But I can't blame her I suppose.

Like you also mentioned before: wishing the separation arcs weren't as long. AMEN! OT5 should get more time to spend all together. That much of a separation was just ...??? uknow

You and Astarion would thrive together.

First of all, he wouldn't push you to have sex with him, AT ALL. Like if you are sex-repulsed he's gonna be okay with it. Also i feel like talking with Astarion is always a deep conversation, even when it seems funny and all, in a way it always end up dipping into who you are, what's your past, what's those things that make your heart beat, and before you know it you are so close it's impossible not to fall for him, cause becoming close with him means knowing his deepest secrets as well as knowing what ice-cream flavour he likes.

He's also very understanding once he realizes he can be unbiasedly himself, and his own vulnerabilities resurface and you are there for him. He would be your rock, during a depressive episode or an anxiety attack he'd make sure you have all you need to calm down, and he's gonna take care of you like you are the most precious thing in the universe.

He'd see you play ttrpgs or practicing witchcraft? He's gonna sit nearby and he's gonna look at you thrive in your safe zone. Any of your interests become his, cause he's gonna want to know everything about them. "C'mon just teach me how to hex, and I promise I'll use it only for good reasons" He'd say with puppy eyes trying to convince you.

Like i think it's only just the game's way to really indicate they did something to Lyria, but that's sooo fucked up.

My wastonian HC as to why is that when Lilith took Lyria, she told her cult that it was because Lyria was the key to Salvation and everything, so it was only normal that for the time Lyria would be there, she would be treated like a high figure of the cult. As such, she needed to be assorted to Lilith's designs as well.

Also since she is also mind controlling Id with a collar and that she asked Id to look over her, it's possible that switching Lyria's clothes was so Id doesn't question the new collar. We saw that just being around Lyria was enough to have Id flashback to his past after all, so Lilith would just probably make sure that "oh don't worry it's just an aesthetic change :)" to the other person she's mind controlling.

so imo i'd say it's really because Lilith still felt like putting on a show (after all she "likes" the "adoration of sycophants", so aesthetic and presentation probably matter a bit for her), and to gaslight Id even more into thinking that the collar is just a normal thing don't worry about it :)

I'll try not to make a too long post about this because like, whatever, but the thing that has me the most upset about the Witcher s3 is actually the way the writing treats the physical space these characters inhabit because this is supposed to be a big fantasy story! This is a big continent in which different countries are at war with each other! Nilfgaard trying to take over the rest of the contintent is a big deal because it would make the empire MASSIVE. But you don't get that feeling from the show because because their writing just chaotically flip flops between character constellations and places to hit as many plot beats from the books as it can until the world has collapsed so that everyone somehow lives in an area that doesn't feel bigger than a large metropolitan area.

Take the sene where Ciri is chased by the Wild Hunt for example. That scene is lifted fromt he books, but it doesn't have the same context as the book and so it's free of any internal logic. In the books Ciri and Yen are in Gors Velen, Ciri and Yen fight, the whole bath scene yada yada but Ciri learns that Geralt is nearby on a farm so she runs away to Geralt, gets overtaken by the hunt and Geralt sensing with his Witcher sense that something is wrong in the area goes to check it out and finds (and rescues) Ciri. In the show we don't actually know where exactly Geralt is. Is he close? Is he far away? Where even is that castle, how long was he traveling with Teryn, where do Anika and Otto live? Doesn't matter. Geralt is going to Ciri and Ciri ran away vaguely towards Geralt so somehow they run into each other in the middle of nowhere in the woods right when the Hunt dramatically reaches her. Yay father daughter reunion, we can now move onto our next plot point. (And yes I get that this was also supposed to resemble their meeting in S1 but like, that at least made sense because we are told they are in the same area and also looking for each other and also fate intervened a little bit...but you're telling me destiny somehow gave them a magic father daughter radar?)

Or take the Radskier meeting in Loxia: How tf did Radovid know where Jaskier was? I get that Loxia is a settlement by Thanedd, the students are also lodging there while the guests occupy their rooms, but like, when they show the house it looks like it's in the middle of the woods. If it had been a townhouse, then yeah sure this makes perfect sense. Radovid learns Jaskier's in town, decides to stop by. But no he goes out the middle of nowhere where this house seems to stand, then sneaks about when he runs into the forcefield, not even waiting for the door to open, to get a fun "Jaskier thinks there's an intruder but actually it's his boy Radovid" sequence which...aesthetically fun but WHERE is the narrative logic to any of that?

Cahir is shown in some fancy castle in Nilfgaard in one scene, then the next have him and several other riders carrying a lot of goods to the elves who are somewhere in the North, potentially up in Kaedwin where their last marked location was, maybe closer to the border in Lyria or Temeria or somewhere. How did he get there? Did the whole convoy step through a portal? Did he portal to the nearest post and form the convoy there? We can imagine the possibilities but it would have been so much better to show it just to give the distances weight and meaning.

And don't even get me started on Mistle in Gors Velen...like great that she and Ciri had that interaction, the moment itself was fun, but like...do you know how far Gors Velen is from Gheso? How little sense it makes for her to be there and then later be elsewhere? That there are several books worth of plot because Ciri stepped through a portal that lands her in the middle of the Nilfgaardian Empire where she is alone and has to somehow survive while her parents travel leagues to find and save her?? And so having Mistle meet her in Gors Velen only to later hang out with the Rats in Gheso two weeks later makes it feel like Ciri stepped through a portal in New York to land in New Jersey? When it should be more like stepping into a portal in New York and ending up in Texas?

Thanedd and the political plot are sooo central this season but because everyone immediately reaches everyone else and characters even on horseback travel long distances so fast it feel like they're squabbling about who gets to rule which burrough of New York or something, not countries on a continent. Like look at the map:

It doesn't feel like these characters exist on this map, and that just throws off the whole vibe. Like yeah some of the writing decisions are stupid, some of the decisions characters make have no internal logic, and the costuming is mostly bad. But I feel like all that would be much better if it all felt more consequential because there was something behind it all. But instead only the places the characters are in right now matter and they get there because they have to for plot and they keep going back and forth because it's more fun if they split up but also they need to reunite but also they need to split up again and so we keep riding around in the same part of the woods.

Idk where I wanted to go with this, maybe I'm just nitpicky. Maybe I'm too autistic and got worked up about the wrong thing, but it's just so frustrating that it feels like they did not consider why plot point A leads to point B in the books and so just haphazardly throw shit together because they think it looks fun in the show. And the problems with the physical space just exemplify that.

there are ways to successfully do Allegorical Scifi/Fantasy Oppression where both the oppressor and the oppressed are white/the same race/race is not a factor but red rising just does nooooot do that successfully. Cuz when ur reading rr it really does come across like pierce brown only realized Black people existed in book 4 (so he could racially other & exoticize the hedonistic & depraved villains) and only remembered heroes can be nonwhite in book 5 when he made one singular reference to lyria having dark skin. white ssf authors when its time to take the lived experience of black and brown revolutionaries to drape fictional whites in the aesthetics of oppression and resistance: ☝️😯💡

Modern verse, years after the Battle of Hogwarts. Rowena Marseline R.avenclaw Dawson is a descendent of one of the four founders. Although born in Scotland, she was raised in England, but decided to move back to Scotland once old enough. She is an Astronomy professor and on the council with Hogwarts’ latest headmaster. Her dream is to eventually settle somewhere safe to live out her life without facing discrimination or persecution for being different.

Lady Ra.venclaw (Br.idgerton AU ; FC: K.atie Mc.Grath)

Ro.wena was born into a wealthy family. Her father is the Duke of Lancaster and her mother, the Duchess. Ro.wena grew up an only child, and thus was raised to be the heir. She grew up to be a free spirited woman of the times, but that didn't mean she took her place as Lady any less serious. Ro.wena knew what her place was in society, she just wasn't one to shy away from being on the same level of men, if not higher, at times. During her travels with her family, she met a military nobleman whom she fell in love with and married not long after. Their marriage flourished, even so much as to bring her husband overseas with her. Unfortunately, due to a war in his country that he had to partake in, he was fatally wounded, leaving R.owena deeply distraught and head of his estate. It took her some years to heal, but it wasn't an easy road. Now a widow and trying to take on Regency England once more, Lady Ra.venclaw mingles among high society again. Will she find herself another match? Only time will tell...

He's not really my type, but I completely understand why so many people lose their minds over Sandalphon

DLFKJDF that's fair. yeah i totally get why people are losing it over him.

personally i can't exactly explain how i feel about Sandalphon. I adore him, he's definitely one of my favorite characters, he genuinely makes my heart ache in a way a lot of characters don't, i have very, very strong feelings attached to Sandalphon. I also find him drop dead gorgeous. He also has a personality and character arc that makes my heart throb so hard. It makes me so emo to see how he evolved and everything.

But in all respect, it's purely platonic and aesthetic. *extremely* intense levels of platonic and aesthetic that could make characters i have more of a "romantic connection" to jealous, but yeah, not romantic. In term of kissing i'd stop on kissing his cheeks and forehead. I'd hug him so tight. I'd totally do some level of intimacy with him too, but just. Platonically.

i don't know if my brain wired too much on the fact "well, he's taken", or how i totally subscribed right away to Lyria calling him big brother and rolled with it. (or just the fact that some characters affections can't actually trump the fact i'm aroace and that characters who make me feel another way about it are more or an exception than the rule of how i connect with characters)

But yeah he drives me absolutely insane and he's one of the most gorgeous man in the game. But platonically for me.

anyway he's so great and he's one of the most character of all time, i love him so much my heart ache. he's my bestie and it matters more to me than any of the characters i'd actually make an exception for to kiss. And that's beautiful.
