FE3H lords as FE7 lords

(Spoilers for both games.) I've seen a few takes on this but mine is:

Claude takes Lyn's role. He's most separated from the main story, but he's still a leader. Sacae and Almyra have similar aesthetics and reputation. I would love to pit him against Marquis Araphen. Erk and Serra become Lorenz and Lysithea, and we can even keep our mediocre archer.

Hector and Dimitri would be the biggest bros anyway. Hector is very willing to murder, although he knows it's not his story so he manages to hold back most of the time. Hector "I don't know who's responsible, so I'm going to kill you all!" of Ostia and Dimitri "Kill every last one of them!" Blaiddyd. Oswin's role easily goes to Dedue. Uther? Rodrigue.

Eliwood is Seteth. Both of them are the more level and cautious protagonists. Seteth and Flayn as Ninian and Nils might be the more obvious pick, but Seteth is the de facto lord of Silver Snow, and he cares for Rhea just as valiantly as Eliwood cares for Ninian. Flayn takes the role of Nils - she joins early, after all.

So Edelgard? Brendan Reed.

The Black Fang Strike Force used to be a necessary force for good. Holding the nobility accountable, by whatever means necessary? Edelgard would be fully behind that mission. But then morphs (TWSITD) corrupt it from the top down. Instead of Sonia, we have Arundel. The morphs already replace people. Whether this becomes a good ending for the Black Fang where Edelgard achieves her goals, or whether it's left to the traditional lords to take them out, depends on where Byleth-Mark ends up.

(Bonus: Caspar would do exactly what Linus did.)

Yuri is basically young Legault already, so that accounts for the last 3H lord. Maybe he gets to steal a bit of Jaffar's role for story importance.

Do you like thinking about rarepair? Because if so for the Bingo can you do Hapi x Edelgard, Dorothea x Ashe and Hubert x Ingrid?

Heck yeah I do like thinking about rarepair, I ship Clemmy after all (@ninadove this one's for you). xD

Sorry it took me a while to answer, but here are my answers !!

Edelgard and Hapi:

I'm not a fan, but that's no fault of the ship. Of course, I appreciate the aesthetic, which might be even better that Lysithea x Edelgard given Hapi's natural dislike towards the Church; but I've just... always kinda struggled to love the Ashen Wolves ? I think it's because I played the DLC well after most people on here, so I had been super hyped up beforehand, but in truth i ended up finding them a bit underwhelming. I never thought Balthus would end up being my favorite out of the four, because he was the first one to flatter Byleth by calling them their professor.

But yeah. Good ship, just me being me. xD

Dorothea and Ashe:

I feel like they'd end up being an overall really wholesome pair, and their aesthetic would also be really nice. I definitely wouldn't be oppsed to see more content about them ! All in all, I do prefer them as friends, though.

Hubert and Ingrid:

The premise of this whole ship seems immensely funny, but I definitely see how it could work. Another impeccable aesthetic given how loyal the both of them are, but how twisted Hubert can be !! I feel like it'd be incredibly refreshing. They'd definitely be an odd pair !!

However, I do think the metaphorical value of Ingrid falling in love with someone from the """"evil"""" side is better conveyed through a ship like Edelgard x Ingrid. It'd be a lot less funny, though.

what pokemon would your characters from spitfire have? (sorry if you dont know all that much about pokemon)

my knowledge of pokemon is SO spotty past the first two gens and most of my knowledge is from my wife so i think most of these are gonna be mostly VIBES instead of specific pokemon so if yall have suggestions im all ears

feon: honestly not sure wjat to do about feon since like… they might just BE a pokemon, you know? like a legendary dragon pokemon with the ability to take human form. but i also feel like that is a really weird answer to give considering all the sex they have with humans.

so assuming they are a trainer, they would definitely have a charizard. feon would pick pokemon that looked really Cool and would probably mostly have dragons.

caed: i think at least for the aesthetic/patriotism he’d have to have at least one pokemon that was dragon and/or fire type. im gonna say he has a centiscorch because devin had one in their sword/shield team and i liked him a lot. and caed would have at least one steel pokemong for sword boy reasons. probably that sword/shield pokemon everyone hates thats just a sword and/or shield.

but also he just has a cubone. for SAD boy reasons.

allene: definitely psychic pokemon!! im not sure which ones. she’d probably want pokemon that could help with her work in one way or another so she’d defs have a rotom. i think that’s how it’s spelled. she’d also have at least one ice type to help her traverse harsh voswainina winters.

lysithea: primary types i can see for her would be fairy, dark, and water. she defs has one of those fancy new rapidashes. maybe a ninetails just bc it suits her idk. the one that looks like a key ring with the headcanon that it could help her pick locks lol

fidelity: i think fidelity has two kinds of pokemon: 1. relatively weak ‘mon that are cute, frequently common/unwanted sometimes early route mon that ppl always try to get rid of, like an unevolved caterpie or furret. does cutiefly fall under this category? i have no idea when in its game it pops up i just know it has fidelity vibes. 2. pokemon abandoned/unwanted by other trainers for various reasons. maybe it looks scary but is weak. maybe it’s just stinky because its a gloom (coincidentally my favorite pokemon when i was a child).

clemence: i have nothing other than new pokemon snap to base this on, but i think she’d have a gardevoir. idk why. just has the right vibes. maybe a carbink idk anything about it but i think clemence would collect rare/lesser seen pokemon, but not necessarily powerful ones. i think she would take pride in finding hidden gems and bringing them into light. not in like a boastful, egotistical way, but clemence is someone who finds satisfaction in polishing and bringing appreciation to the rare gems.

honestly, while i do think that a lot of the women in engage look pretty young, they *definitely* don't visually fit the l/li trope at all. the only similarity is the round face and that's.. about it. people will really just call everything l/li nowadays and not even realize what that means, apparently.

Same tbh. And I think what exacerbates it is that we just came off of Three Houses' aesthetic, and that game had a timeskip with characters visually getting older. What some people I think forget is that it's an outlier in how it does it.

Awakening's timeskip had young adults and teens skip forward two years, so the cast didn't change much visually. Genealogy's timeskip completely changes the cast, so it goes from young adults to their kids who, as we see them, are also young adults/teens.

Three Houses is the only game (sans RD with the Greil Mercs but even that can be cherrypicking) where we see the typical cast of young adults and teens that most FE games employ as their characters completely visually change because the timeskip is 5 years, after a year had already passed in White Clouds. The youngest character after 3H's timeskip (that isn't Cyril) is a 21 year old. That's Chrom's age after Awakening's timeskip.

FE casts are mostly full of teens and young adults. Skim over any cast that isn't 3H (and again maybe RD) and it's hard to find characters that look older than 20.

Engage isn't different in that regard. To put it in perspective:

Like, you have Framme who's like Elise, but other than Dragon Mom Lumera, you also have Chloe, Timerra, Jade, Merrin, and Ivy who are all visibly older looking. Etie looks the same age as Rebecca and Neimi (tho honestly kinda reminds me of Lysithea upon closer inspection lol). Celine seems like Lilina's age. Citrinne seems like Lute's age.

Sure, would I like to see more Manuela, Isadora, Titania, or Vaida energy? And maybe a Niime too? Hell yeah! But I think the whole "Engage is full of loli bait/all the girls look like 12 year olds" way of thinking is a bit disingenuous and misrepresentative of the series' character aesthetics as a whole.

I'll ask whichever 3 you most want to answer and haven't yet!!! (Also there's a few more questions I just added in a reblog if you want to do any of those)

1. What's their fave tea, and do they have a fave snack to go with it?

They love mint and ginger teas! Anything with a little bit of a zing to it, really. They also would probably like the pine needle blend. They love to have some dried fruit to go with it, or an almond flavored pastry(they hate almonds but love almond flavor in baked goods).

4. Who would they most like and most hate to study with and why?

Predictably, they love studying with constance. She is of course very smart and helpful, and moss finds her highly entertaining as well as attractive. Even if they aren't always really focused on studying, they enjoy her company. They don't like studying with people who are dedicated and very serious about it, like lysithea, because moss doesn't care too much about their grades and prefers to goof off. Constance is much easier to distract than lysithea.

22. How did they decide on their personal/post skip outfit, and was the price or the aesthetic a bigger factor in their decision?

Their post-timeskip armor is a gift from their father. It's incredibly impractical and flashy, because both moss and their father are skilled healers and are practically invincible to simple wounds. The armor is a feint to bait people into their radius, really. Moss's father instructed them on this fighting style during the timeskip, but moss was already well practiced in it due to their stature, healing abilities, and acrobatics. They also love to peacock and draw attention to their appearance, so it suits their fashion sense.

Definitely the Black Eagles girls! I think Dorothea, Edelgard, and Hillevi would gossip A Lot because Dorothea loves sharing tea, Edelgard loves hearing about it, and Hillevi is a mix of both ashdfjk

Hillevi would also approach Petra and maybe help her get accustomed to Fodlan style sleepovers and ask about if Brigid has anything similar?

4) Who would they most like and most hate to study with and why?

ngl I don't think Hillevi would really enjoy studying but she at least would be willing to help others like Caspar maybe! She definitely grew up well-educated through a lot of governesses that her dad hired growing up.

She would probably hate studying magic with Lysithea because she would definitely feel extremely incompetent about her inability to do magic HSDJKF

11) What combat class do they secretly wish they could be?

I mean, wyvern rider/lord was her biggest goal as a student but maaaybe she would have loved to be a brawler/grappler/war master but unfortunately those classes are male-locked and I am extremely canon-compliant :')

Fun fact I initially wanted Hillevi to be a brawler/grappler before the game came out and got salty when it was male-locked ahsdjkf but I think making her a wyvern rider was the right decision because it fits her character a lot!

22) How did they decide on their personal/post skip outfit, and was the price or the aesthetic a bigger factor in their decision?

(I haven't posted her latest timeskip design BUT) her outfit is based on aesthetic more! It's her choice to dress more masculinely and with more armor and it's something like a huge thing for her because she got to decide something for herself for once

I chose pokemon based on which ones matched the most with Lysithea over the most attributes: aesthetics, color palette, vibes, lore and background, personality, interests, being a glass canon magic nuke.

Lysithea loves sugar so much she chooses to become a pastry chef in some of her endings so I wanted her pokemon to reflect that Alcremie and Slurpuff are also both pink and white and fluffy just like Lysithea's character designs.

There is her history with the Agarthans and I wanted to reflect how she if one of the few units that learns dark magic spells in fe3h, representing this through pokemon that felt cursed, haunted, or alien.

Like Linhardt I think of Lysithea as primarily a psychic type trainer, both are highly intelligent magic focused characters. Espeon in particular is there because of its high special attack, color, and because Lysithea reminds me of like a yearling cat.

Elgyem (or more its evolution Beheeyem) was chosen as an alien that has chosen its brain over its body, it is the cerebral pokemon. Both are high magic glass canon that have min maxed everything into mind and magic both in gameplay and in lore. Like Cursola the alien was chosen to show that there is something different about Lysithea, she is no longer the same as her classmates, she was changed and there is no going back, not for her.

felix! it's just so easy to get sword proficiency and he's always good, whether swordsmaster or warmaster.

claude. he's the whole reason i picked golden deer first and he was my first ever s support <3 i just love how goofy he is

felix?? i'm not really a blue lions person but i love his conflict with the ideals of all the other blue lions (glenn died a true knight/he died for nothing etc)

linhardt, he has so many good one liners .... but hubert is a close second esp in 3 hopes.

yuri. i have a thing for morally grey crime bosses with tragic backstories, can you tell?

shamir. her interactions with balthus are so good (when she asks him if they have the same taste in women...)

literally any of huberts in three hopes but specifically the one where petra threatens him (and the one where he tricks lysithea into eating vegetables)
