-> THE SNAP AS THE CANCER OF ALL WORLDS succumbs to the will of an aeon is an almost beautiful sound to him, listening with extended senses as the cracks in her body began to recede from view. The depths of the Sea of Quanta are silent things, a space that folds and folds until no sound can escape from tenebrous grasp. It's amusing to the EMANATOR in a way, the tint of amethyst amongst aureate hues as the world eater embedded in her chest falls into DORMANCY with a mere extension of a thought.

" Hmph, surely you didn't expect FINALITY to help you without anything in return? " No AEON would be that generous, allowing the spark of AMARANTH ENERGY to dance across his fingertips, jumping back and forth between his fingers before allowing it to harmlessly dissipate against the once golden CRACK in her body. Quantum was always such a unique element amongst the seven. Memories given shape in an amusing way, weapons pulled from the SEEDS of the tree of which it devoured its roots, it made him wonder what shapes it would take for the TRAILBLAZER.

A shift of his leg, enough to provide her with the option to stand or remain sitting as a hand nests beneath his chin, the appearance of lazy interest as he felt her soul flex away from the shackles of the stellaron. " How interesting..." A musing, sight turning to the hints of amethyst beneath her skin, watching the energy course and race beneath her skin as FINALITY eagerly filled the gaps left by the severed threads of DESTRUCTION. " So many eager to use you as a weapon... and yet here you remain, utterly FREE." THE AEON THE MAN SERVED had no need of her just yet, content instead to remain hidden at the end of all things with nothing more than an empty gaze and an EMANATOR to herald it's arrival.

" Tell me... " Pondering, his mind dances across the suggestion it held, watching her reaction to the shard of power buried deep inside. "What do you intend now, the trailblaze and terminus are fundamentally opposed after all." A simple question, one laced in the suggestion she find her own path away from AKIVILI's lifeless remains. Its amusing to him to watch newfound pathstriders stumble without the guidance of others, and yet, he suspects she won't succumb to the same folly of others, to declare to unprepared world that TERMINUS woke from long slumber.

─「エデン」─ no one wants power ? he was wrong. the TRAILBLAZER could list so many names that would do anything to get their hands on ultimate power within their fingertips, but the whirring of the stellaron was becoming so loud that she couldn't even focus enough to utter proper words. sins were what tempted people, a promise of wealth, of control, of power, humans are like that, aren't they ? the more she saw, the more she experienced, the more she met, the CLEARER it was, and how those golden hues lost the innocent light they used to have. the hopeful look into the future she wished wasn't being set in stone.

THE STELLARON was lashing out. that familiar spark of devastating gold akin to that burst of power upon herta space station began to flash out once more, ramming itself against her chest and forcefully attempting to BREAK OPEN the vessel containing it. the cancer of all worlds had no need to be considerate of its container, so much that the pain was causing eden to stagger forward, gloved digits gripping onto the male in order to keep herself from falling to her knees.

it felt like her head was going to be torn into two. no, not just her head, either, but her entire being. her mouth parted to let out a scream, but no words left her gaping lips. she gasped soundlessly, feeling her own vocal choked up inside her lungs as two powers battled for dominance, for control. the CRACKS upon her chest was daring amber, before slowly the dulling purple started to eat away every corner of it, consuming and subduing, bit by bit.

then, she felt that SNAP at the back of her mind, at the deepest part of her and all was quiet. the whirring stopped almost abruptly that eden had to brace herself for the sudden silence replacing the chaotic frequencies messing up her conscious before. the pain slowly subsided, and AUREATE ORBS reopened. there was a glowing tint of amethyst residing deep within her eyes. uneven breathing steadied, and she could breathe properly again. a slow blink followed as she stared at him.

" a different ... path ... ? " all of a sudden, his presence was no longer foreign. the thumbing of her heart was now matching the pulsing of quantum power she could felt underneath both their veins. like a BEAST inside of her was being leashed and bound, and that link didn't just tie the STELLARON to him but also her. a part of him was pulsing in her own veins.

Aeon's Domain

Creates a domain within a radius of 100 meters from the user wherein the environment can be changed to whatever the user desires; it can be an exact replica of where the user is, or a completely different setting. Madison can change the environment to her will and in a matter of seconds. When this ability is in effect, the environment may turn into a shade of red or be immediately fine-tuned to replicate an environment.

This domain entraps any being in its radius, essentially "transporting" them into a parallel world/environment that the user creates. Non-stand users can also be confined within the domain but once Madison sees or senses someone who may be in danger, she can bring them out of the domain ala quickly "vaporizing" them into thin air. Madison can also use the environment against a target whether that would mean manipulating conditions in that setting such as weather or temperature, or using elements from the surroundings directly against the target.

WEAKNESSES:

The 100m radius does not move with Madison. Once she sets up the domain in a certain spot, Scarlet Aeon will stay hidden there and be rendered immobile to act as the energy for maintaining the domain. If an enemy detects the location of her stand, they may inflict damage on Scarlet Aeon. This will then endanger both Madison and the domain's state.

Anyone in the domain (ally, enemy, or civilian) is trapped and can only escape it if Madison either: deactivates it, an ally asks Madison to take them out of the domain, she takes the person out of the domain, or if she takes severe/life-endangering damage.

If she takes someone out of the domain, she cannot bring them back in. This is because the domain acts as a world/universe/environment separate of that from which they left.

As this is a mental battle with the target's psychological condition, Madison must have a strong mental state. If she cannot control her emotions and state of mind her power may turn against her and provide an open avenue for the enemy to mentally strike back.

Vectors are telekinetic energy weapons that manifest as "arms" and are used for various purposes by Madison. You’ve waited long enough to see Alex and Caleb again, haven’t you? The worlds of Aurora Rhapsody and Asterion Noir will collide in CONTINUUM (Riven Worlds Book One) on JANUARY 8, 2020.

Humanity has seized its destiny among the stars. But space remains vast and untamed, and nothing has prepared us to face the dangers rising from the deep shadows of the void.

Fourteen years after The Displacement flung humanity into a universe teeming with alien life, a tenuous alliance has taken root among humans, Anadens, and numerous other species. The wounds of war and revolution have begun to heal, peace and prosperity are within reach, and the architects of The Displacement, Alex Solovy and Caleb Marano, are enjoying an idyllic existence on the living planet of Akeso.

But growing troubles fester beneath the surface of this alliance. An upstart species offers allegiance with one hand but readies weapons of mass destruction with the other, while the Anadens, leaderless and adrift for years, increasingly refuse to play by humanity’s rules.

As tensions simmer, Nika Kirumase, leader of the Asterions—a splinter group of former Anadens thought aeons dead—arrives bearing a warning of a terrifying enemy advancing across the void. Known as the Rasu, the powerful race of shapeshifting metal has already killed tens of thousands of Asterions in its quest to control all of known space.

Nika’s people have struck a blow against the Rasu, and now they race against time to prepare for the coming reprisal. An alliance with humanity stands to give them a fighting chance against their enemy. But for humanity, such an alliance may cost them everything, pushing the fragile peace they fought so hard to achieve to the breaking point and beyond.

In Amaranthe, where exotic alien life, AIs, wormholes, indestructible starships and the promise of immortality rule the day, no feat seems out of reach for humanity. But when the worlds of Aurora Rhapsody and Asterion Noir collide and the Rasu horde descends upon them both, more will be asked of heroes past and future. More will be given and more taken, and when the dust settles the very fabric of Amaranthe will be changed forever.

It's time to present you guys with my top 10 favorite albums of 2018. There were a lot of amazing albums this year, but these 10 stole my heart. Now for my absolute favorite releases of the year!

10. Phantom Elite - Wasteland (symphonic metal)

If you enjoyed Marina La Torraca in Exit Eden, then you'll be able to get a different feel for her voice on this album. This is her main project outside of Exit Eden and their sound is so cool. The mixing could've been a bit better, but that doesn't bother me too much. In fact it gives it some extra character. I'm really excited to hear what these guys come up with next. This album really took me by surprise to just how good it turned out to be and how dramatic it got at times.

9. My Indigo - My Indigo (indie pop)

When I found out that Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) was going to be releasing a solo album, I was really curious about what kind of sound she'd go for. I couldn't have imagined a better sound for her. Not a single dud on this album. It's so lovely and a breath of fresh air for her. You get a really great feel for her vocal range and there's some pretty cool vocal lines on here. Definitely a beautiful and touching album from start to finish.

8. Marmozets - Knowing What You Know Now (alternative rock)

I don't remember ever subscribing to their YouTube channel, but I'm so glad I did, because I found one of my top 10 favorite albums of the year because of it. Their sound is so in your face and on the verge of being alternative metal, but it's toned down enough to not be at that level. It definitely works for them. The music is so fun and absolutely wonderful to just jam out to. One of the most random discoveries I've made that I absolutely adore.

7. Dream Ocean - Lost Love Symphony (symphonic metal)

I learned about these guys through a Facebook friend at the beginning of the year and wound up really enjoying them. This album is pure symphonic metal. It's got drama, power, energy, strong riffs, amazing orchestrations, and a mezzo-soprano with a gorgeous voice. I find it kind of funny that Mark Jansen is featured on a track called Never Enough knowing full well that Epica have a song of the same name. I'm definitely am gonna be keeping my eye on these guys.

6. The Hardkiss - Залізна ластівка (progressive pop/rock)

These guys are evolving so much. This album is definitely a lot more on the rock side, but it still has a bit of that pop element. I'm waiting for them to take the plunge and release a full blown metal album. I think this album is a good first step in that direction. The production gives this album a bit of a sci-fi feel to it that I really like. It's so different compared to their previous releases and really stands out. I also really like how majority of the songs are in Ukrainian. It's always been the other way around for them, so it's a nice change.

5. Silent Stream of Godless Elegy - Smutnice (folk doom metal)

I really started taking a liking to these guys in the later part of last year after falling madly in love with their song Mokoš, so I knew I had to check out the new album when it dropped. This album turned out to be a lot more pretty than what I was expecting it to be. It's so beautiful and powerful. Every song has its own dynamic to it and not one song sounds similar to the other. And I just adore the folk instruments they use. It really adds to the beauty of the album.

4. Witchcraft - Cinema (progressive gothic metal)

It was so hard to rank this one at number 4, because it's neck and neck with my number 3 pick. This album turned out to be so much better than I had anticipated it being. It's beautiful, raw, and very unique. I love the samplings to other iconic songs on a few tracks (Requiem for a Dream and the themes for Silent Hill and The X Files are the ones I easily picked out). Their sound has evolved so much over the years and I feel as if this is the best of their releases. It shows off everything that is absolutely amazing about this band.

3. Oceans of Slumber - The Banished Heart (progressive doom metal)

Winter was a wonderful album, but holy shit did they outdo themselves with this album. It's a lot darker, a whole lot darker. Cammie's voice also sounds a lot better on this album. I don't know what it is, but seems as if her voice is a lot stronger and has more emotion attached to it on these songs. There also just seems to be a lot more emotion in these songs in general. It's such a stunning album from start to finish. If you wanted Winter to be more doomy and intense, The Banished Heart definitely lives up to that want.

2. Elvellon - Until Dawn (symphonic metal)

It shouldn't come as any surprise that this album is high up on my list. This was my favorite album of the year for the longest. It's such an amazing symphonic metal album that was definitely worth the wait (in terms of it being released, not in the shipping issues that I ran into with receiving it). These guys are definitely ones to look out for in the symphonic metal scene. Nele's voice just stands out so much compared to the many ladies in the scene. The stories told in each song are absolutely wonderful and the production is everything.

1. Once - After Earth (symphonic metal)

This is the album that took Until Dawn's place of being my favorite release of the year. I honestly wasn't expecting to love this album as much as I do. This album is so powerful, dramatic, beautiful. It even has a whimsical vibe to it that I absolutely adore. The writing, production, and execution are everything with this album. You get a beautiful feel for Alina's voice on this album and just how talented she is. The orchestrations are turned up a bit high on this album, but it doesn't take away from the experience, but instead compliments it so well. This album is just perfection and I can't wait to see what these guys have in store for us.

Like I mentioned earlier, there were a lot of amazing releases this year. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for us. I just know it's gonna be a wild one. I was hoping that getting closer to the end of the year that the new releases would slow down a bit but this was another busy weekend with more than a few incredible releases. Complete pain in the ass for those of us still struggling with putting together our best of 2021 lists. Ahhhhh first world problems…I will try my hardest to soldier on. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it….:)

This was quite the week for Death and Thrash Metal. No fear however as black metal was still very well represented. Diablation out of (shocker!) France released a great album “Allegeance”. Melodic Black Metal with a lot of atmospheric elements and a lot of variety in the song writing. Next up is Darkest Mind and their absolute stunning album “Oracle of Death”. Just when you thought your best of the year list was safe comes this record to ruin your plans. Melodic Black Metal with riffs for days and absolutely perfect production. I WANT THIS ON VINYL! Hopefully at some point it gets a vinyl release. Finally Conjuring and Citadel rounded out the Black Metal highlights. I don’t think either is as good Darkest Mind but they aren’t far off either. Now to the Death and Thrash Metal of the week. “The Sick is Dead” by Maladie started it off with great album of Progressive Death Metal. An album that gets better each time you hear it. This was followed by Soul Remnants and “Raising the Sacrificial Dagger”. This album just punches you in the face from track one and doesn’t let up for 11 tracks and the killer guitar work adds that extra dimension. The weekend ended with two back to back bad ass thrash albums. Death Decline came out firing with their aggressive full throttle style of thrash on their album “The Silent Path”. Impressed me so much I preordered the vinyl edition right away even though it’s not due out until the end of March. Finally we had hands down the best band name of the weekend with Chain Tombstone & The Dead Men. That name is the band name equivalent of the opening to the song The Book of Heavy Metal by Dream Evil…:). A great name is only part of the equation here with some razor sharp riffs and just overall catchy breakdown sections of their album “Realm of Pain”. It’s that really fun style of thrash metal that doesn’t take itself to seriously. As always��
