SJM Crackshipmonth: Confessions
Live on Love
Day twenty of @sjmcrackshipmonth and today's pairing is: Lysandra x Aelin!
Words: 1,715
TW: mention of death
Aelin rejects Lysandra, still in mourning of her former fiancé but as the days goes by she realizes she made a mistake. Would Lysandra forgive her?
Aelin stared at her friend, her best friend. The woman who was always there for her, especially after Sam's death. The woman who was a stranger once, who became her friend and then her best friend. The woman who had never left her side, even through hard times, who had lent Aelin her ear, her clothes and who had just bared her heart to Aelin, confessing her feelings. She stared at her, at the dark brown curls that fell over shoulder, at the green blouse and the short, dark skirt she wore. Aelin looked at the red painted lips that were pressed together as she waited for an answer and the green eyes that stared right back at her. The transparency that she found in Lysandra's gaze broke something deep within Aelin and she could feel her heart crack. It wasn't like the pain that she felt when she thought about Sam. The pain wasn't worse or better, it was just wholly different and for once in her life, Aelin was utterly speechless. I have feelings for you, the words echoed in her head, again and again, I love you, more than just a friend. A ragged breath escaped Aelin as she sat up straighter and her mouth opened, in that moment Lysandra looked so hopeful that it took everything in Aelin to speak the next words, "I'm sorry" Lysandra's eyes turned glassy and she looked down quickly, but not quickly enough to hide the devastation in her eyes. Aelin wished she could tell her something else but she wasn't over Sam's death yet. It's been a little over two and a half years since the accident and Aelin couldn't take that step, she wasn't ready. Not yet. She shook her head and tried to ignore the lump in her throat. "I just– I can't." her voice cracked. Her instincts told her to grab Lysandra's hand but she didn't think her friend would want this right. "I'm sorry." Aelin whispered again.
Lysandra didn't look at her as she shook her head "Don't be, Aelin." she said quietly. "I should have known. It was a stupid idea, I don't know why I told you." she grabbed her bag and the keys she had discarded on the table. "I have to get back to the studio."
Aelin knew that wasn't true, Lysandra didn't work on Mondays. She preferred to work on weekends and take night shifts because it pays more. She followed Lysandra to the front door of Aelin's apartment. "It wasn't a stupid idea! I promise, I just- I- I can't." she hated herself for the lack of explanation, but that's all she could think of at that moment.
After Lysandra opened the front door she turned to Aelin and she tried to plaster a smile on her face, unsuccessfully. Aelin knew her the best, she could read her friend like an open book by now. Although it didn't take much to read because everyone could make out the hurt in her eyes, the hurt that threatened to undo her.
"I understand." Lysandra said. "Really, I do. I get it." she let out a breath and moved a Strand of hair out of her face. They just looked at each other for a moment until Lysandra turned on her feet and walked to the elevator. Aelin stood in the doorway, watching as she waited for the elevator, watched as she stepped in and as the door closed. Watched as Lysandra left without looking back again. It hit Aelin then and there that she didn't know when she would see Lysandra again and no matter what happened, their relationship would never be the same. She stood in her doorway a long while after Lysandra Was gone.
It took Aelin twelve days, eleven hours, thirty-seven minutes, a lot of crying and a pathetic amount of chocolate cake to realize that she had made a mistake. During her eighth re-watch of Sleepless in Seattle she realized that she did, in fact, reciprocate Lysandra's feelings. And she realized wanted to take that step with her. Aelin knows that Sam would have wanted her to move on, to find love but she was so deep in mourning that she didn't want to think about it but now, now she was thinking and imagining taking this step with Lysandra…it didn't scare her anymore. She was nervous, of course she was, but she wasn't afraid. Although, it was probably too late. Aelin had pushed her away and she wouldn't blame Lysandra if she was moving on. It must have taken her a lot to finally be bold enough to confess her love and Aelin had turned her down. That's when Aelin made a decision. She finished her chocolate cake and got ready for bed, tomorrow it was her turn to be bold.
The next day felt like it was stretching forever. To clear her head and kill some time, Aelin cleaned her apartment, went on a walk with Fleetfoot, bought groceries, showered, answered emails and called her mother. Now she was sitting in her car in the front of her apartment complex and listened to the radio station where Lysandra worked. Her heart was beating fast, especially as the song started fading. Her heart stopped when Lysandra's voice sounded through the speakers. Her phone was trembling as she dialed the number that Lysandra was announcing.
Aelin wasn't the first to call, the first was a lady who needed Lysandra's advice on what she should do if her boyfriend has a cat hair allergy but she's not ready to give up her cat. She turned down the volume of the radio as another lady's voice sounded on the other end of the line. If the voice was any indication, the woman must be around her forties.
"Hello," Aelin replied to her, voice trembling. "I'm calling for relationship advice from Lysandra."
"What's your name?" the woman asked, sounding unbothered and happy. Aelin envied her because she was a nervous wreck.
She bit on her nail and answered after a short moment "Ally. My name is Ally."
"Alright, sweetheart. There are a few callers before you, after a break of two songs it's your turn. Don't hang up the phone, if you do that the next caller gets your place. Okay?"
The wait would probably kill Aelin before she had any chance to talk to Lysandra but she replied "Okay, understood." either way.
"Perfect!" the ladies said and put her into a waiting line.
Aelin's knee bounced up and down nervously as she waited and listened to the other callers. One lady asked Lysandra for advice about her boyfriend who had just cheated on her for the third time and then a husband whose wife was mad at him and he didn't know what he did wrong. Aelin listened to everything, admiring how calm Lysandra stays through it all, admiring her patience. Aelin Was so deep in thought that she didn't realize the second song came to an end, almost missing the voice of the woman she talked to earlier.
"Ally, are you still there?"
Aelin sat straight up, almost banging her head on the roof of her car. "Yes, yes I'm still here." she said, her heartbeat quickening as the woman on the other end said "You're next, sweetheart."
Aelin wanted to thank her but she was already gone, instead she heard Lysandra's voice, announcing, "Next up we have Ally! Are you there, Ally? How can I help you?"
Aelin had to find her voice for a moment until she said "Hello! Hey Lysandra, I need your advice."
Lysandra was silent for a second, either she recognized Aelins voice or she waited for Aelin to continue. "Of course, tell me. What do you need advice for?"
Aelin took a deep breath, ignoring the knot in her stomach as she told her "I made a mistake. A mistake I regret so, so much." she swallowed. "My friend confessed her love to me, two weeks ago. My previous relationship… I don't need to go into detail but it left my heart in shambles and I told her I am not ready for a relationship, I was convinced I wasn't ready."
Lysandra was silent for a few heartbeats and Aelin could have sworn she heard her swallow. "I am sure you had your reason, Ally. And I am sure your friend understands. Don't throw yourself into something that you're not ready for."
"That's it, that's the problem," Aelin explained. "I built a wall around myself, afraid that I could get hurt again but when she left," Aelin shook her head, tears falling down her cheek. "The regret hit me like a blow. I realized that I am ready to move forward and imagining her at my side, I am not afraid anymore. I want her at my side."
"You should tell her that." Lysandra only replied.
"I'm afraid it's too late." Aelin admitted. "I'm afraid she moved on and I am history, I'm afraid I ruined it when I rejected her."
"She's your friend, isn't she?"
"My best friend, I love her more than anything."
Lysandra let out a small, broken laugh. "I'm sure she did not move on and she'd be more than ready to hear you out."
"You think so?" Aelin's voice cracked.
"I do." she replied.
"Thank you. Lys." Aelin said, wiping her tears away with her sleeve.
"You're welcome, Ally." Lysandra said softly. Then the line was dead.
It didn't take Aelin long to decide her next step. It felt all so fast that Aelin was surprised an hour went by from the moment she started the motor to the moment where she stood in the parking lot at the studio where Lysandra worked. Another twenty minutes went by until it was time for Lysandra's break and five minutes later, she walked out the door. She looked over the parking lot until her green eyes met Aelin's and to her relief, they softened.
Slowly she walked toward her friend and when she stopped in front of her, Lysandra smiled at Aelin. "Hey Ally."
Tears started flowing again and Aelin laughed, "Hey Lys," she said. Lys smiled brighter, which made something in Aelin snap as she took her face in her hands and kissed her.

Really weird AU idea I had
Ok, so this is gonna be crazy, but I had an idea for like a good guy Arobynn AU, it's kinda random but I just wanted to share my thoughts of how the plot might end up different.
Arobynn is obviously a good father figure to Aelin/Celaena
Probably would be called Aelin by Arobynn, just using Celaena as a cover name
Lysandra and Aelin would be closer, maybe girlfriends
I guess Sam wouldn't die
Anyway I'll probably just go over how I think the Assassins Blade books will go bc I'm way too tired to go into all the books
Aelin would still be pissed about the slave thing
She'd free them in a similar fashion to the original novella
Arobynn would be mad, not abusive though
He would be upset because she could've gotten hurt
Sends her to go train with the mute masters still
Aelin and Arobynn could be working together to rebuild Terrasen
So they need support from people like the mute master
Honestly, I don't think anything would change about the Healer one, or the Desert one all that much
For the final ones though, a lot would obviously change
Sam wouldn't be killed, and Aelin wouldn't move out
They would somehow hear about the tournament thing
They need to get someone in prison to be chosen
Arobynn wouldn't want to put Aelin to be in danger, but she's the best choice Not the most well-thought-out AU, but something I've been thinking about. If anyone's interested I can go more in-depth about the novellas, or talk about the other books. I haven't read any of them in a while.

Across the Universe-ch.14 (Fenrys x Reader)
Summary: Y/n has everything she needs in life. A family, friends, a safe place she calls home and most importantly a male whom she loves. What happens when it all changes when Y/n finds out about the betrayal of her lover and her so called family? Well, ending up in Terrasen and in queen Aelin's court was not what she expected but what she will need to start her new journey full of surprises.
Warnings: Some angst, injuries, past trauma
See masterlist
Something was wrong.
Something was definitely not right with him.
Y/n kept repeating these words in her head as she stood frozen, watching Fenrys watch her while holding his chest.
When she tried coming any closer, he held up his hand and said, "Y/n- I- Please"
She stood back but y/n was still fully confused. What was happening? Did his chest hurt? Why is he looking at her with so much shock?
"Fenrys what's-"
"Let's- let's go"
He slowly held out his hand for her to take but y/n saw the wariness, the worry and realization written all over his face as he refused to look at her. Anywhere but at her. He was clearly out of his mind now but she wouldn't question him yet. Not yet. He has something going on that he isn't sharing with her and y/n would eventually figure it out.
With an unsure and careful move, she took his hand and let Fenrys take them home. Y/n noticed how even though they were holding hands, he kept his distance from her and just kept staring straight as their surroundings began to blur.
Once they were back within the palace walls, Fenrys immediately let go of her hand, and for some reason, that caused her stomach to drop. By the sounds coming from the door down the hall, everyone else were having dinner.
She tried again, "Fenrys-"
Fenrys looked at the wall behind her, his eyes never straying towards her "You should go eat."
Y/n's hand came up to touch him "What about you?"
He quickly moved away from her touch, "I am not hungry. Good night, y/n."
She didn't even get to say something else as he abruptly turned around and left her alone. Feeling hurt, rejected and alone, y/n turned around towards the dining room and plastered on a fake smile as she entered the area.
The conversations stopped the second she entered through the doors, silence overtaking the room as Aelin said with a welcoming tone, "Y/n! we were wondering where you and Fenrys were but-"
"But decided to give you two lovebirds some privacy." Dorian finished with a knowing smirk, earning himself a glare from the queen.
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows as she came and sat beside Lysandra, "Lovebirds? We aren't in love."
Lysandra chuckled, "Y/n, dear, you are not the brightest are you?"
Y/n turned towards the shifter and gave her a glare, "What are you saying? What in the Mother's name is happening?"
Elide, the evercaring mother, stood up and poured some food on to y/n's plate as she said in the softest voice, "We all feel this....this tension between you two."
Lorcan scoffed, "Yeah, it's pretty hard to ignore with the way you two seem to only see one another whenever you are in the same place."
Y/n thanked Elide, before crossing her arms and leaning back on her chair, "That is absolutely not true. Fenrys and I are just friends."
She suddenly felt someone poke her in the arm and turned her head to see Eva, smiling menacingly, "It absolutely is true. You and Fen have this thing between you two. We all see it, we all feel it. Except you and him apparently."
Y/n raised her brows, stumbling over her words, "W-what? I-"
Rowan put down his cup and looked straight at her, "If you keep on denying it, it will be even more useless. We are all aware of your attraction towards one another so-"
Aedion quickly got up and rushed around to close Eva's ears as he said with a small smirk, "So just get to it. Rip off your clothes and fuck it out."
Lysandra gasped and got up to hit her husband. The whole room burst out in laughter and chuckles at that as y/n got up while choking out a "What? You are all crazy!"
Aelin just smiled, "Please don't take what we say to heart. On the contrary, we are very happy that Fenrys is finally giving attention to someon. It has been a while since we saw him this....lively and present, you know?"
Rowan held his mates hand as he said with a small smile, "He may not see it but Fenrys has never been more himself than when he is around you. Because of how you make him feel."
Y/n raised an eyebrow as she looked at the prince "And how do I make him feel exactly?"
Rowan gave her a small, knowing smile as he said,
"Alive."
Alive. That's what they think she made him feel. Y/n barely slept the whole night, preferring to overthink what everyone said during dinner instead. No, surely they must be wrong if they think that she makes him feel alive because Fenrys is anything but alive with her.
One moment he is kissing her, the other he is pushing her. He is being distant and yet getting all protective when something happens to her. He insists that there can never be anything between them because she will eventually have to leave and then kisses her again on top of showing her the place he has been hiding from the outer world. His safe haven. His secret garden.
She couldn't understand him. She couldn't understand what he was doing because Fenrys was being closed off and distant again. And this time, she had no idea why. Y/n didn't even know what she was feeling any more. Was she angry? Was she hopeful? Was she sad? She just.....was.
Whatever. Fenrys can go and do whatever he wants because she was not going to give him any attention anymore. He was right. After all, y/n would leave and this whole thing that is between them will never be anything more than a kiss. It's better to slowly forget about him starting from now. Maybe then her growing attraction and care for him would disappear.
With that final decision in mind, y/n pushed all her thoughts aside as she entered the healing hut to see how Petrah is doing. Once Isolde let her in, to her absolute zero surprise, she saw Lucien still in the same position but with different clothes, sitting next to Petrah. An awake Petrah!
Y/n couldn't hide the smile on her face and the relief she felt when she saw her fellow witch awake. "Petrah!"
Both Lucien and Petrah looked at her as she came towards the bed and stood next to the redhead prince, putting her hand on his shoulder.
Petrah gave her a small smile, "Hello, y/n."
"How are you feeling?"
Petrah shrugged but quickly winced and Lucien immediately put his hand on her shoulder, gently stopping her as he said, "She has been in and out of sleep for quite a while now, just woke up a short while ago when Manon and Lysandra came in to check on her and then fell asleep again."
Petrah sighed "I want to get up. Being bedridden is too suffocating."
Lucien gave her a gentle but firm look as he said, "You heard Isolde. Unless you want your stitches opening up--because there are many of them--you can't get up for a while."
Petrah was about to say something but a yawn overtook her and before she knew it, her eyes were closing again, softly lulling her to sleep.
Lucien smiled at that and gently pulled up the covers that she had pushed off over her body. Y/n smiled at her friend's care before sighing, "She lost a lot of blood and energy. I am no healer but I have seen enough of these kinds of injuries to know that she will be in and out of consciousness for a while."
Lucien sighed as he got up and went to pull the curtain over the window. "Yes, and I will be here for her every step of the way."
"Have you eaten?"
Lucien gave her a small nod as he went towards a pitcher filled with some drink and poured it into a cup to drink. Y/n looked at the sleeping witch on the bed and then at her friend on the other side of the room before deciding to ask, "Lu, is there something going on between you and Petrah?"
She saw his back visibly stiffen befor he sighed and looked down while holding the table, still not turning towards her. And then, Lucien whispered the three words that made y/n fall into the chair out of shock.
"She is my mate, y/n."
"Repeat that."
This time, he turned to look at her as he said, "She is my mate. And she has no idea."
Y/n thought her jaw must have hit the floor because of how shocked she was. Sensing that she wouldn't be able to utter a single word, Lucien just went on, "I felt it when she was getting healed here after the injury. Had to leave the room for a moment and gather my thoughts before returning to her side."
Y/n only managed to whisper a few words, "How? But- I- Elain- What?!"
Lucien shrugged, "I think you were right after all. The Cauldron made a mistake with me and Elain. With her, I never felt this bond, I never felt anything except this sense of responsibility about making her accept me. But with Petrah....y/n, I feel it all. I feel the bond and I feel a rush of emotions whenever I am with her. I constantly want to be with her. I enjoy her company."
Y/n nodded slowly, gathering her thoughts as she asked, "And will you tell her once she is in a proper state of mind?"
He shook his head.
"Why? Don't you think it's her right to know, Lu?"
He sighed and looked down saying, "If she doesn't feel what I felt, if the bond doesn't appear for her then what's the point of embarrassing myself? Besides we will leave anyway-"
"Lucien, listen to me. You can never keep this from her and do not tell me that she won't like you or something similar because that is not for you to decide. Once she is well, you must let her know and then, if she accepts it, you have to put your happiness before anything else-"
"Y/n-"
"No. Lu, please, let me finish."
He nodded stiffly.
"She is your mate, Lucien. Mate. If she accepts it, how can you leave her behind? And no, she won't leave her family, her friends, her queen and come with you to a foreign world. To Prythian. So don't even think of that. And think of it this way, if you never tell her and she never finds out, then you will go back knowing that you left your mate, your other half in a completely different world. Is that what you want? You like her Lu, and I am not saying you should start mating immediately, no. You could begin to know one another and see where it leads. But please, Lucien, do not run away from what's meant for you."
Lucien was staring at her with wide eyes as he coughed out, "Oh, wow. Did not think I would ever get lectured by you, but here we are. I will take your advice, but....I don't know y/n, what about my family and friends? How will I see them?"
Y/n gave him a small, unsure smile, "We will find a way, Lu. We will find a way."
Mate.
Y/n was his mate.
Fenrys didn't know what to think or feel anymore. He was so lost. For so long, he has been waiting for the moment where he would find his mate. The one meant for him. That he would get to spend the rest of his remaining years with the love of his life by his side. But, it's as if the Gods were laughing at him, mocking him. Well, there were no Gods anymore but still.
At first, Fenrys was beyond happy. Beyond shocked and beyond excited. Y/n, the one who has had his attention for a while now, turned out to be his mate. She wasn't just his witchling now, she was also his mate.
He should have known, he should have known from the first time he felt anything towards her that this wasn't a mere crush or attraction. No, Fenrys was on his way towards reaching absolute obsession, love, adoration, protection. Oh Gods, he really liked her.
But then, the truth hit him. She was leaving. How cruel could fate be to mate him to someone who wasn't even from his world? To mate him to someone who is destined to leave and forget him? It is these thoughts that made him reject the idea of telling her the truth. Of letting her know that they were mates. Of chaining her to him.
That's why it was best if he put distance between them and Fenrys knew that he had said this a thousand times before but this time, he meant it. He would stay away from her until she left. It was for the best. For both of them. No matter how much this decision pains him, Fenrys knew that he had to take this step.
And now, as he entered the sitting room, he realized that he would have to put his plan into action faster then he thought because in the room, there was Dorian sitting with none other than.....y/n. They were having drinks and laughing about something until he entered which caused his witchlings smile to immediately drop.
Dorian, however, seemed oblivious to it all as he gestured with his hand to the sofa for Fenrys to sit "Fen! How glad am I to see you. It feels as if I last saw you centuries ago because that is how rarely I see your face now."
Fenrys didn't smile. Didn't take his intense gaze away from his little fireball as he said, "Well, I am leaving."
Dorian immediately got up at that, as he said in a serious tone, "Nonsense, Fenrys. Ever since I have arrived here I have spent more time with everyone except you! We must talk and now is better than any other moment."
Fenrys didn't want to do this but he also didn't want to disappoint his friend, whom he rarely saw, even further which is why he sighed but walked towards the sofas, sitting next to the king. Y/n got up to leave but Dorian stopped her too, saying, "Y/n dearest, please do sit. We were having a lovely chat and I believe talking with you both will be even more fun."
Y/n shook her head, not looking at him and that made Fenrys more pissed than ever as she said, "Oh, um- I have something to do, you two must have personal matter to talk about-"
"No, I insist. Please, y/n."
It seems like the young king truly had a way with words because y/n just sighed but also came back to take her place opposite of Fenrys. He tried his hardest not to acknowledge her and from the looks of it, y/n was doing the same. Well, how fantastic.
Dorian cleared his throat before asking, "So, Fen, y/n here, was just telling me of her adventures in Prythian and Gods, did you know of what she did in the Summer court? Tell him, y/n!"
Y/n just kept looking at Dorian, seemingly uncomfortable as she said, "I am.....I think there is no need for him to know of it."
Fenrys felt horrible. He was the reason she was acting like this. He was the reason that she felt uncomfortable and that was the last thing he ever wanted to make her feel. And the fact that she no longer wishes to share her past with him makes Fenrys want to punch a wall.
Dorian still seemingly oblivious to the tension in the room, just shrugged before saying, "Oh, well. Anyways, y/n, what is the first thing you will do when you are back home?"
Now this was an interesting question that also got Fenrys' curiosity to spike up as he waited to hear her answer. After a while, she said, "Well, I did end my relationship with my lover so all that is left to do is say my words to the rest of my so called friends and then leave."
Dorians eyes widened "You broke things off with your lover? What for?"
He felt her cast a quick glance at him before shrugging "Well, it is a long story. Maybe next time I will tell you."
Dorian, however, didn't seem like he wanted to let the matter go because he then asked, "Oh, well, I am sure, whatever it is, you had your reasons. But if it wasn't something that serious maybe you could get back together? Or if not, I am also sure that there would be plenty of males and females who would love to be with you."
Now that just caused Fenrys to clutch his glass cup so hard that it shattered. Both y/n and Dorian turned to look at him with wide eyes as Fenrys said in a tone dripping with possessiveness, "No."
Y/n raised her eyebrow at him, "No?"
He let his dark gaze lock with her annoyed one, saying once more, "No."
The thought of even letting anyone else especially that fucker Azriel come anywhere near her made his blood boil. Fenrys knew how hypocritical he was being. Not telling her that they are mates and yet also refusing to share. But for some reason, that was just the truth. He felt too protective over her.
Y/n scoffed, "And who exactly do you think you are? I can do whatever I want. If I wish to fuck around, then that is what I shall do. If I wish to be in another relationship, then that is what I shall do. If I wish to forgive Azriel, then that is what I shall do."
That was it.
The dam broke.
Fenrys got to his feet rounding the sofa and coming to stand next to her, cupping her jaw, making her look at him as he said in the firmest voice, "Over my dead body will I let any of that happen."
Y/n's anger seemed to rise even further as she pushed out of his grasp and also got up while looking straight at him, "What gives you the right?! How can you make such decisions while you won't even look at me!"
Fenrys was barely holding himself back now. He quickly went towards the door and out the empty hall to put distance between them but it seems like y/n was just as determined to get answers out of him because she quickly followed after him, shouting, "Why, Fenrys? Why are you so cruel?! You do not get to ignore me and then act all possessive! You have no right!"
Fenrys turned abruptly, causing her to barely avoid crashing in to him as he said, "I have every right."
That seemed to only piss her off even further because the next thing Fenrys knew, she was hitting his chest. Yes, her fists did nothing to him, he didn't even feel her futile attempts at hurting him but the fact was, she was hitting him.
She kept on hitting him while her eyes began turning glossy with tears.
"WHY! Give me a reason why!"
"You! You gave up on this!"
"How can you be so cruel?!"
"If you aren't going to stay with me, then do not get in the way of my happiness!"
Fenrys had enough. She was talking too much, nonstop. Not even pausing to breath. She hated him. She was disappointed in him and even though Fenrys had made many others disappointed before, y/n being mad and disappointed at him was the only one that he couldn't handle. He felt like dirt on the ground for making her go through this.
Just walk away Fenrys, keep your mouth shut and frustration reigned in. Leave now before it's too late.
Fenrys did just that. He took both of her wrists in one hand and let go of them, turning his back to her and walking away-
"You are a coward after all, Fenrys. You run away from your truth. You refuse to even own up to your actions! Refuse to even look me in the eye!"
"You wouldn't understand y/n."
"Yes. Yes I would! If you only told me!"
"Y/n-"
"Fenrys tell me! WHY!"
"I have my reason-"
"WHAT REASON! Why? Fenrys, Please!"
"I- we can't y/n-"
"WHY!"
Fenrys suddenly turned around and shouted back at her, frustration and disbelief eviden in his voice "BECAUSE YOU ARE MY MATE!"
That's when he saw it. How she went from a fireball to a frozen statue. How her expression went from anger and annoyance to shock and disbelief.
"W-what-"
She gasped suddenly, staggering backwards and holding her chest, eyes wide. Fenrys knew then that the glorious bond also snapped for her. He immediately moved to help her but y/n put up a hand, halting him in his steps.
After what felt like an eternity of silence and heavy breathing, she looked back at him, her expression molded back into anger but her voice dripped with cool indifference as she said, "So this is what happened to you yesterday. The bond snapped for you first."
"Ye-"
"And yet you kept this from me. You hid this information from me!"
"Y/n-"
"Here I was wondering what happened for you to suddenly change your mind, to suddenly start acting like the brute you were when I first came here. And all this time....all this time you knew we were mates."
"Y/n, please-"
"Do I disgust you, Fenrys? Were you so disappointed when you found out that you decided to keep it hidden? Is that it?"
"No! Y/n-"
"Forget it, Fenrys. I have had enough of your games. I do not wish to see your face for the time being. Don't you dare follow me."
Before he even could say something else, y/n quickly went past him and headed towards the staircase.
Well done, Fenrys. Well fucking done. Idiot.
Mate! He was her fucking mate! How hilarious, how ironic!
She thought she would never find her mate and yet, here he was, right in front of her. For so long, y/n thought that her mate was a specific winged Illyrian. Turns out, it was a specific blond warrior and shifter. She would laugh if she wasn't busy being in shock and denial.
The bond.....the bond snapped for her right after Fenrys told--or rather, shouted--the words. How funny that at some point, while she was begging and praying for this very bond to snap, it wouldn't. And now that she had sworn to never fall in love, the bond suddenly snaps.
Now all that attraction towards him made sense. Now all that need and care for him made sense. Oh, Cauldron boil her, what will she do?! She was just giving Lucien advice on this matter two hours ago and now here she is, suffering from the same revelation, not having anyone to take advice fro-
"Sooo, I believe congratulations are in due for you both?"
Y/n turned around to see Dorian walking towards her in the garden, a large and mischevious smirk plastered all over his face.
She sighed and closed her eyes, "Please tell me you didn't hear anything and it's just a lucky guess."
She felt him sit beside her on the gazebo and then say, "You know I am not a liar, y/n dearest. I heard you two shouting at each other because, mind you, you two werent that far away from the room that we were chatting in. Just be glad the halls were empty."
She turned her head sideways and gave the king a threatening look, "No one knows of this so don't even think of opening your mouth to anyone."
Dorian just gave her a wink before sighing, "Well, I can't promise not to tell Manon. You must understand that we keep no secrets from one another and that she is an exception in everything that I do. But other than her, I promise to keep my lips sealed. You don't have to worry about Manon either, she doesn't go around gossiping."
"But she gossips with you?"
"But she gossips with me."
Y/n rolled her eyes at him before bending forward and putting her arms on her knees, "I don't know what to do, Dorian. I never- I never expected this."
The young king just put his hand on her shoulder as he said, "I know that you may have not expected it but please do not immediately reject it. Fenrys is one of the best males I have met. He would never break your heart y/n-"
"I know that. What I don't know is what am I supposed to do now that we are mates? I am supposed to leave, remember? Besides, my past....my past experiences in this whole love area weren't the best so I don't think this will work. I don't think I will love him-"
"Who says you have to love him right from this moment? You two just found out that you are mates, mates! It takes time to process."
She just sighed and rubbed her temples as she said, "Yes, it will take time."
Dinner was....difficult, to say the least. While everyone kept talking and engaging in conversations, y/n and Fenrys both were on a keen mission to ignore one another. She barely ate anything, her mind barely grasped anything anyone said because she was busy thinking over what happened with Fenrys.
And from the quick glances that she cast his way, y/n could tell that he was also not in the moment due to his stiff posture and small, fake, barely there smile.
The second everyone started to finish up, she quickly said her goodnight's and headed straight for her room, intending to get away from all the tension that is everpresent between them. Once she entered it, y/n leaned against the door and sighed, giving herself a small moment to gather her thoughts and breathe properly.
When she felt like she could move again, y/n went towards her mirror and began unzipping her dress, just wanting to quickly get to bed and sleep the shocking events away-
A knock came from the other side of the door. Oh, yes. Eva had said during dinner that she would give y/n the book she finally finished to read.
"Eva, could you please come in later? I am changing."
No answer came from Eva.
"Eva?"
Still no answer.
Y/n thought that the girl was gone so she went back to changing when the door opened. Y/n raised her head back to look at Eva through the mirror "Eva-"
Her words were stuck in her throat when she saw who entered the room instead. It wasn't Eva......it was Fenrys. His expression was full of concern and regret.
"Y/n, I-"
But then, he stopped mid-sentence when his gaze drifted to her exposed back, his expression turning into one of fury and shock. That's when she realized that her dress had slid over her back, leaving her scars exposed. She quickly tried to pull her dress up, when she heard his harsh voice, "Don't."
For some reason, the command made her pause. He started to slowly take slow steps towards her, his intense gaze never leaving her back. She couldn't turn back around, instead staying frozen in her place, looking at him through the mirror.
He stopped right behind her, his eyes still trained on her back as he whispered, "Who did this to you?"
She couldn't look at him anymore, y/n tilted her head down as she said, "No one, Fenrys."
"Who. Did. This. To. You."
"Fenrys, just leave-"
"Was it Azriel? Is he the one that did this to you?"
She looked back at him to see his eyes trained on her now, expecting an answer.
"No, Fenrys. It wasn't Azriel."
She saw him relax slightly before saying, "Then who did this?"
She scoffed and turned to look back at him, "Why do you care Fenrys? You saw how ugly my body is now so you can be assured that we do not need to be mates. You can reject this whole thing and I will not be mad. It's what I expected anyway-"
"You are so blind."
"Excuse me?! What's that supposed to mean?"
Fenrys came even closer, their chests touching now as he looked down on her, "You are so blind that you do not see the way I look at you, the way I yearn for you. You are so blind that you do not realize my affection for you."
Her eyes widened, processing his words, "Fenrys, you don't have to lie-"
"Am I lying, y/n? Do I look like I am lying? I have grown to like you....very much. Your body is the farthest thing from being ugly. I am growing obsessed with you, don't you see? I have done things with you and for you that I have never done for anyone else. Never."
Then, he gently took ahold of the dress' neckline and pulled it down slowly until it stopped on her hips. Her arms and upper body were now completely exposed to him. Her scars, traumas, wounds, nightmares, all out on display for him to see.
She could only muster to mutter a few words. "Please, don't pity me."
He looked back at her, his eyes holding nothing but adorationa and care within them. And then, he smiled. He smiled a soft, genuine smile that had her heart melting. His knuckles came up to gently caress her cheek as he said, "I do not pity you. I am proud of you. Proud for overcoming whatever challenges that were thrown at you. Proud for coming out alive from whatever nightmares you have faced."
She couldn't help herself then. She couldn't stop the tears that escaped her eyes and soon turned into a waterfall as she fell down on her knees and started to cry. Fenrys also went down with her and gently, as to not scare her, wrapped his arms around her and brought her into his chest, keeping her safe and tucked in the crook of his neck as he whispered "Let it all out, princess. Let it all out. I am here."
She cried for her past. For the girl she once was. For the innocence she had lost. For the childhood she had lost. For the parents she had lost. She cried for it all.
After a while, she calmed down and just pressed her cheek to his chest as he gently caressed her back. "Do you want me to take you to bed? You are tired."
"No...I- I want to stay like this just a little more. Talk with you."
He smiled down at her, pecking her head before resting his chin on her head and whispering back, "Talk all you want, princess. I will be here to listen."
She smiled slightly, "You have that much time?"
She felt his grip tighten on her as he pressed her even more to his body, shielding her from the rest of the world as he said, "For you, I have all the time in the universe."

How in the Gods did you end up here?
That really was the question of the age. As a friend of Aedion’s, the King and Queen had taken a special interest in you, for months, unknown to you. You’d just assumed they were being friendly.
Of course, their friendship was a given and if you’d desired nothing past that they would have accepted it, but you were glad there was even an option for something past that. This was something you never could’ve imagined.
“Is it your first time at one of these?” Lysandra purred, running her hand down your arm. You turned to fix your eyes on the beauty, biting down on your bottom lip and nodding. She pried your lip away from your teeth with her thumb, running her finger across your bottom lip. “You’re quite the catch,” she winked and stood, extending her hand towards you. “Let me help,” she offered.
Help? Perhaps help smooth things over, make it a tad less awkward for you.
You took her hand, one of the easiest decisions of the night.
The room quieted as you stood, as Lysandra’s hands tugged at the thin straps on your shoulders, slowly lowering the fabric to expose you to the room, inch by inch.
As all of their attention slowly fixed on you, you felt yourself grow bolder inside, more sure and certain that you could do this. The attention, especially from such an attractive room of individuals, was captivating.
Aelin beckoned you forward, a Queen summoning a subject, when your dress hit the floor, soft fabric pooling around your feet. There was a slightly impatient lilt to her eyes that thrilled you.
“Go on,” Lysandra encouraged you. You sent a sheepish and thankful smile over your shoulder, you hadn’t realized you’d been stuck standing still. She gently pressed between your shoulder blades and you began moving.
Soft carpet caressed your feet, cushioning every step to be as light as any Fae warriors. It was ages and eternity before you finally arrived in front of Aelin, who stood as you approached.
“Hello lovely,” she murmured, sweeping your hair away from your face, “we’ve been hoping you’d show up at one of these for a while.”
“I don’t know why I waited.”
Your answer earned you a grin of approval, and she gripped your chin between her thumb and forefinger, tilting head slightly as she brushed her lips against yours, the barest hint of a kiss, before trailing across your skin, leaving burning embers and flushed flesh in her wake.
Her lips hovered what must be a hairsbreadth from your ear, “I’d like to see you with Rowan and Fenrys. If you’re agreeable.” Oh you were agreeable. You nodded. She tutted. “I need to hear you say yes,”
“Yes,” you said, right on beat.
Aelin drew back and let out a low whistle.
You bit back a chuckle, especially as Fenrys grumbled, “I’m not a dog.”
You caught Rowan sending him a side-ways are you sure about that glance, and dodging the other male’s elbow.
Not giving you too much time to overthink, they each bracketed you, hands running up and down your abdomen, thighs, sides of your breasts, shoulders, touching each bit of you they could reasonably reach with a painful gentleness. Touches grew firmer, longer, rougher, breaths grew shorter, turned into pants.
“Can you take both of us, beautiful?” Rowan asked, kissing the space below your ear.
You nodded eagerly, adding a breath ‘yes’.
From the corner of your eye, you spotted Lysandra and Lorcan, Elide and Aedion coupled off, side by side.
“Focus on us, I know they’re very pretty,” Fenrys chided, his mouth turned up at the corners, the beginning of a smirk. Aedion caught your eye and winked before refocusing on the small female on her knees in front of him.
Fenrys walked backwards, tugging you with him until his knees hit the edge of the bed, letting you crawl on top of him, bodies sharing heat, skin lighting on fire where it met. Your lips gently sucked and nipped their way down his neck, small groans leaving his lips. The sound was music to your ears.
He ran his hands up and down your sides, as if he was drinking in the feel of you, soaking up every bit of you he could get.
You felt... fuck, Rowan was big, bigger than you expected against your back.
“We’ll make it fit,” you heard him behind you, a hint of amusement in his tone. You hadn’t meant to say that out loud. You told him as much.
“You didn’t, he’s just arrogant,” Fenrys said, before recapturing your attention with his mouth, lips wrapped around your nipple, sucking and scraping lightly with his teeth.
He was good. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. You were sandwiched between two people who knew exactly what they were doing. You arched away from him as Rowan’s fingers grazed over the bundle of nerves between your thighs, hitting another pleasure center.
Fenrys’s hands gently but firmly gripped your hips, sliding you up far enough to hover over him, pressing against your entrance.
Too slowly, he lowered you onto himself, eyes daring you to complain. You took it as a challenge, using the muscles in your legs to slow it even further, squeezing in a way you knew would drive him wild. Sure enough, a hiss left his lips and you hid your smirk.
“Clever witch,” he groaned, before tangling one hand in the back of your hair, the other braced against your hip as he slammed himself home.
You gasped, breath catching, trying to imagine fitting another inside of you. It wasn’t possible. Couldn’t be.
But ... as Fenrys began to move, as you gave yourself over to the feeling you felt a greedy little thing inside of you rise, wanting more, knowing more was available.
“Hold,” you heard the command in Aelin’s tone and Fenrys paused. Practiced almost. They’d had a plan, you realized.
The Queen, your Queen approached you from the side, her eyes darting frequently to your lips. You imagined how hers would feel. Would they be soft? Would she be firm or gentle? Full of passion or caution?
You didn’t have to imagine for long.
Pure passion.
As she was captivating you, you felt another pressure between your legs. A hand, fingers sliding inside of you, stretching you. You winced.
Aelin didn’t miss a thing and pulled back slightly. “You’re doing wonderful, beautiful,” the praise lit something inside of you, soothed a bit of the pain you were feeling down there. If your Queen was telling you that, surely you had to believe it, it had to be the truth.
Another finger was pressed inside of you. Discomfort, but not quite pain.
Aelin caught your attention again. You felt Fenrys’s hair brush against your shoulder, his teeth nipping at your neck.
Someone else was running fingers through your hair. Lysandra. Purring words of comfort into your ear, telling you how fucking incredible you looked right now.
Confidence filled you with her words, with all of their words.
When Rowan's cock finally notched against your entrance, he murmured, “the first bit is the worst,” and didn’t give you more time to think.
Mouth parted in a silent scream, your head dropped forward against Fenrys’s shoulder.
Their arms tightened around you holding you perfectly still.
“Can I move?” You heard the barely controlled restraint in Rowan’s voice.
“Yes,” you managed to say.
“Deep breaths,” Fenrys said as the other male pushed.
It burnt. It stung. Gods, it fucking hurt more than his fingers possibly could. But with the pain came that beautiful edge of pleasure you were able to ride.
That pain slowly ebbed away as he inched inside of you, as Fenrys moved, as Aelin’s fingers toyed with your nipples while they could, before the two males really started moving in unison and she retreated to watch.
The three of you certainly put on a show that night.

Books. Are. Political.
I’m going to say this with all the disrespect my body holds.
I have been in the book space for well over a decade, the SJM fandom for just about that time, so believe me when I say I mean what I’m about to type. If you are an American, or even someone abroad, and support Trump or the conservative push in anyway, you are not welcome here. If you are a part of the SJM fandom and support Trump (which yes means with a vote or just in general) you are not welcome here. The fmcs and the fcs that you love would hate you the same way I do. The mcs and book boyfriends that you love would hate you the same way I do. Books have and always will be political, that why people like Trump and Desantis and Hitler go after them and burn them. Those people prey on the ignorant and the unintelligent, and I fully believe yall are both. If you are upset by this post or the posts on booktok telling you, you have no place here then you know deep down you are wrong. And for everyone else who woke up devastated this morning, I’m sorry that we have to share this horrible reality, but I’m comforted in the fact that you are out there just as saddened by the turn our country has taken.

An ex convict, neglected nepo baby and level 12 bland white man team up to bolster the regime of a dictator whilst also forming life long bonds and experimenting with one another sexually. Watch as the gang goes from fetch quests to killing actual god, as the magical blonde girl traverses the globe, finding love with a man who has a face tattoo instead of a personality. But that’s not all folks! Watch these characters undergo trauma after unbelievable trauma, like getting possessed by a demon, being paralysed, surviving sex slavery, or being bisexual. And that’s just the tip of the fairy shaped iceberg! Never before have characters been hotter, dumber and this incompetent. You’ll laugh, cry, and shit your pants when a terrifying murder witch who may or may not have eaten children appears in book 3 and steals everyone else’s thunder, prompting questions like: why wasn’t this series about her, AND just how many innocent people can a character kill and still remain likeable. The answer, as always, will surprise you ;)

It seems I'm going everywhere this spring. May I suggest some road trip headcannons from the TOG and/or ACOTARs group?
(whichever you prefer I love them all)
I'm so jealous, I need a trip lol. I went with TOG for this because they'd be so iconic to roadtrip with imo
Throne of Glass Roadtrip Headcanons
• Aelin plans the trip and insists on driving, only because she lied about where y’all are going and wants to surprise everyone
• She also only packed wine and chocolate for snacks
• Lorcan has packed enough to compensate for everything Aelin didn’t pack (and more)
• Aelin didn’t book a hotel or anywhere to stay, but you’ll be fine because she “knows a guy” literally everywhere you go
• Rowan is riding shotgun at first, but he keeps trying to give Aelin directions with Google Maps so she makes him switch seats with Fenrys
• Fenrys is moved up to shotgun for his superior DJ skills, which even get Manon singing along
• Rowan is frustrated at first that he got moved to the backseat, but eventually gives up and falls asleep for the rest of the ride
• Dorian is watching TikToks on his phone way too loud and showing you all of the funniest ones (he’ll eventually run out of battery and realize he forgot a charger. Manon has one but lies and says she doesn’t so that she doesn’t have to listen to it anymore)
• Aedion starts complaining that snacks aren’t sufficient and we need to stop for real food, and Gavriel agrees
• Manon finds a Waffle House on the route and Aelin agrees to stop there, but Dorian and Lysandra want to go somewhere nicer to eat (they’re overruled)
• Aelin and/or Manon start a fight at Waffle House (but Lysandra is the one who kicks ass)
• You arrive at Aelin’s friend’s house where you are all staying, and it’s way nicer than you all expected
• Lorcan doesn’t trust it and says he won’t stay there, until Elide convinces him it’ll be fine
• It would be the nicest vacation you’d ever been on, and it’s really best if you don't ask Aelin questions about how she pulled it off

Across the Universe-ch.13 (Fenrys x Reader)
Summary: Y/n has everything she needs in life. A family, friends, a safe place she calls home and most importantly a male whom she loves. What happens when it all changes when Y/n finds out about the betrayal of her lover and her so called family? Well, ending up in Terrasen and in queen Aelin's court was not what she expected but what she will need to start her new journey full of surprises.
Warnings: some angst, violence, mutual pining, some kissing;)
See masterlist
Her whole life, she never had anyone. Yes, she had her share of relationships, longest of them being with Azriel, she has had people whom she called friends, family even, she has had acquaintance's, those whom she trained and those whom she met.
But none had ever been loyal enough. Enough to have her back, enough to love her, enough to protect and support her. Enough to promise something to her. Azriel, no matter how long they had known one another, had never told her the three words she was desperate to hear, 'I love you'. He never cared enough about her feelings, her thoughts and words. He never soothed her nightmares.
And now, looking back on it with a clear mind, y/n could see what a blind fool she has been. He never loved her to begin with.
But, last night, Fenrys had not only opened up to her, shown her his unmasked side, but also promised so fiercely to protect her, to have her back. She didn't expect him to be so vulnerable with her. She sensed how he still held back about telling more but that was fine. Y/n was more than grateful with all that he shared with her. And now, knowing his backstory, or atleast some of it, she could only curse on those who ever hurt him. She could only wish for Maeve to come back from the dead so that y/n could brutally kill her with her own bare hands.
Y/n also realized how wrong she was when she judged him. He was not a self-centered, arrogant prick but an honorable, brave, loyal, loving and broken male who only wishes to finally find a purpose in life. Just like her.
Last night, after Fenrys made her a promise that shook her whole world, she managed to only stare at him with wide eyes and mouth which made him smile softly and detach from her, the feeling leaving her cold and for some reason, disappointed. He then turned his back on her and entered his room, shutting the door and leaving her in the middle of the hallway, frozen and absolutely in shock.
She slept like a newborn faeling for the rest of the night. No nightmares, no troubles sleeping, just pure bliss. And now, as she made her way to the training area even an hour earlier than she usually would, y/n felt very refreshed and energize-
"Lu! This is a surprise, since when have you been training?"
Lucien, half naked with his abs and muscles on display, dropped the weights that he was lifting and looked towards y/n.
The redhead pretended to be hurt as he put his hand over his heart, gasping, "Y/n, please, you're hurting my feelings. How exactly do you think that I keep this delectable physique?"
She laughed as she went towards the pitcher full of water.
"I don't know, I rarely ever saw you train in Velaris."
Lucien pointed a finger at her, "Key word, 'in Velaris'. Training with Cassian or Azriel never was the best thing, they just keep judging you, looking at you like you are lower than them."
She drank her water and put the cup down before shaking her head, "I am sorry Lu, it seems like they will never learn."
He just shrugged with a small smile, "Don't be, the only one with whom I truly ever connected there was and still is, you."
She genuinely smiled at that before heading to warm up. She heard his voice again as Lucien said while once again getting to work on his weightlifting, "So, what is going on between you and....what was his name- Fenrys. Yes."
She furrowed her brows and once again looked back at her friend, "What do you mean?"
Did he hear them last night? Impossible, they are in different parts of the palace.
"Well, I don't know, you seem to have some form of a connection. Rowan sees the tension too- in fact, everyone does."
"Nonsense Lu, there is nothing-"
"Do you love him?"
That question made her pause. Did she love Fenrys? Well, she certainly felt an attraction towards him. She felt care and adoration towards him but did she love him? No. No, she did not. She could never love anyone again. Not after what Azriel did. What happened last night was just a one time thing. He probably already forgot of what happened, probably moved on.
She sighed, "No. I do not."
"But you do care for him."
She looked up at her friend, who now was standing in front of her, his arms crossed, "Yes. I care.....as a friend."
"And when we go back, will you forget him as just a friend, a moment in your life, and move on?"
"I won't of course, I mean....he made an impact- this whole thing was unusual and made an impact and....and even if I wont ever see him again I will remember him as a....a good, great even, friend- why are you even questioning me like this is some kind of a trial?"
Lucien smirked and opened his mouth to say something when they heard a wyverns roar. They both turned around to see two figures in the distance, Manon and Petrah, exiting the palace and going towards their beasts.
From the urgency in their stride, it was clear that something was off. Y/n quickly made her way towards them as Lucien grabbed his shirt together with a sword and followed right behind her.
When they reached them the two seemed o be in some kind of a heated discussion as Manon just shook her head, ".....No, just trust me, Petrah. I am going and you either follow me or stay behind but do not tell me not to go."
Petrah just rubbed her temples while sighing, "And what if that place holds nothing? What if your guess proves to be fruitless?"
"Then-"
"What's going on? Where are you going?"
The witches turned their heads to look at her and the prince, Manon just sighed while Petrah tried to keep her expression cool but her eyes betrayed her as they slightly widened while taking in the half naked, sweaty male beside her. She was truly eye-fucking Lucien. And when y/n gave a side eye to him, she saw how Lucien's gaze was also taking in the witch from head to toe. Manon and y/n's eyes collided and they both tried to calm their growing need for laughter.
Manon was the one to quickly recover, clearing her throat, causing the two to just look away immediately, a small, tiny blush overtaking Petrah's cheeks as she tried saying in her most stable voice, "Uh...yeah um- me and Manon are going after the surviving valg."
That caused both her and Lucien's mood to sour as he quickly asked, his voice heavy with concern and frustration, "And you were planning to go alone?! Just the two of you?! Do you even know where you're going?"
Manon scoffed and Petrah's brows furrowed in anger as she crossed her arms, "You think too little of us, prince. Just wait till you see us in action. We are no weaklings."
Manon interfered, "I have a guess about where they might be so I decided to go there. I was going to go all alone, but Petrah found me midway and is now stuck to me like a leech, as you can see."
Petrah glared at her queen, "I'm your second in command, it's my job to have your back."
Before y/n could reply, Lucien said, in a determined voice, "I am coming with you." as he went towards Luna while putting his shirt on, not giving any room for arguments. Petrah looked after him and sighed in frustration before marching over to reach him.
Manon looked at y/n, one eyebrow raised, waiting to hear her decision.
She smirked at the queen, "Well, can't let my kin and my friend go on a dangerous mission without me."
Manon chuckled as she turned and began walking towards Abraxos, "You are a fighter, witchling."
Once they were all sat on their respective wyverns, Lucien sitting behind Petrah on Luna and Manon on Abraxos, the queen flew up first, followed by Petrah as y/n stretched her wings one last time before leaping into the sky.
Y/n soared through the morning sky, her wings catching the first rays of sunlight as they spread wide and strong. The world below was bathed in the soft hues of dawn, casting long shadows across the landscape. Manon and the others flew ahead, their wyverns cutting through the crisp morning air with purpose.
The morning air was alive with the sounds of nature awakening—the distant call of birds, the rustle of leaves stirred by the wind, and the occasional distant roar of a wild creature. Y/n could feel the pulse of anticipation, a quiet understanding that they were on the cusp of something significant.
Beside her, Abraxos glided effortlessly, his scales gleaming in the early light. Y/n glanced at Manon and Petrah ahead, their expressions resolute as they navigated towards the mountainous terrain that loomed in the distance. Lucien rode behind Petrah, his posture determined yet cautious, his eyes sharp with vigilance.
Manon's voice broke the tranquility, firm and commanding as she directed their course towards a narrow pass between two towering peaks. Y/n followed, her senses alert, muscles tensed in readiness. They flew closer, the mountains rising like ancient sentinels guarding the secrets hidden within their depths.
As they approached the pass, a sense of solemnity settled over them. Y/n exchanged a glance with Manon, their unspoken communication reflecting a shared resolve.
Lucien's voice cut through the air, steady and reassuring, "Stay alert, everyone. We don't know what we might find beyond these mountains."
Petrah nodded firmly, her grip tightening on Luna's reins. The morning sunlight cast long shadows ahead, obscuring what lay beyond the threshold of the pass. Together, they flew into the pass, leaving behind the morning light and stepping into the shadowy depths of the mountains. The world seemed to hold its breath, waiting to see what fate had in store for them beyond the horizon.
As they ventured deeper into the narrow pass, the air grew cooler and the light dimmer, swallowed by the looming cliffs that surrounded them. Y/n could feel the ancient weight of the mountains pressing in, their jagged peaks reaching towards the sky like the claws of sleeping giants.
Manon led the way with a steady grace, her eyes scanning the rocky terrain for any signs of movement or disturbance. Abraxos' wings beat rhythmically against the silence, a reassuring sound amidst the eerie stillness of the mountain pass.
Without a word, Manon landed and dismounted Abraxos, her movements fluid and silent. Y/n and the others followed suit. The air hummed with tension as they crept forward, every sense alert to the danger that lurked in the shadows.
Before she could blink, Petrah had her claws and teeth out, much to Lucien's absolute shock, and Manon had her sword in her hand, positioned in front of her and ready to strike as she went ahead and slowly lead the way. Y/n mirrored Petrah's actions, letting her nails and teeth out as Lucien also swiped his sword out.
Manon motioned for them to spread out, her eyes gleaming with a fierce determination. With a swift gesture, she indicated a narrow passage leading deeper into the mountain. Y/n nodded as she followed Manon's lead. They moved silently, shadows melding with shadows as they navigated the labyrinthine tunnels.
The air grew colder, carrying the scent of damp earth and something darker—an acrid tang that spoke of ancient magic and lingering menace. Y/n could feel the weight of history in the stones beneath her feet, a silent witness to the battles fought and the secrets buried within the mountain's heart.
Ahead, the tunnel widened into a cavern—a vast, echoing space illuminated by flickering torchlight. Manon's hand tightened on Y/n's shoulder, a silent warning to stay alert. Petrah and Lucien flanked them, their presence a steady reassurance in the face of looming danger. Y/n swallowed hard, adrenaline coursing through her veins as she prepared for whatever lay ahead.
But when they ventured even further into the vast cavern, y/n's eyes widened with shock. The whole place was covered in unique drawings and writings, most probably an old language she had no idea about. Hanging from the rocky ceiling was a huge upside down, marble statue of a woman-
Manon gasped, "Mala the Firebringer,"
Y/n had no idea on who that woman was and from the slight confusion evident on Lucien's face, he didn't know either. But the two other witches gave a wide eyed look at one another before looking back at the tapestry.
The statue of Mala was a haunting sight to behold. Carved from smooth marble, her features were regal and serene, yet an aura of sorrow seemed to emanate from the stone. Black vines and roses wound around her suspended form, twisting and coiling in a macabre embrace. One black rose emerged from her mouth, its petals stark against the pale marble.
But, before they could explore even further, a voice echoed through the cavern—a low, mocking laugh that sent a chill down Y/n's spine. "So, you've come to play, little witches and prince," it taunted, the words dripping with malice.
Laughter echoed back and then, the shadow shifted, a weird creature coming into view. Weird because while the face of this being was that of a young, handsome man, the body was old, wrinkly and all in all, ancient. From the corner of her eye, y/n saw Lucien shift slightly, coming to stand in front of Petrah.
The Valg-whatever smiled an ugly smile, displaying his rotting fangs as he spoke once more, his voice going from young and charming to old and ugly in a second, "What a surprise has it been, Manon Blackbeak. How is your kingdom?"
Manon simply stared at him, not gracing him with an answer, her expression cold and calculating.
The valg chuckled "And you, Petrah Blueblood, aren't you jealous that a Blackbeak heir sits the throne of Witches?"
When Petrah didn't reply either, his gaze shifted to Lucien, "Oh, how could I forget the fire prince? The one that the book deemed fit enough to send between worlds....our worlds. We shall come for Prythian too."
Lucien's expression hardened but he was too busy glancing around, trying to detect if there was anyone else, to even reply to the ancient hag.
Finally, his chilling gaze landed on her, his smile growing even larger as he said, "Ah, y/n. Y/n y/l/n. I always had a suspicion that Elara would have a descendant of hers roaming around somewhere, unaware of her own powers. How hilarious that this whole time, you were in Prythian, a part of that Death Incarnate's court, unaware of who you truly are."
Y/n's breath hitched, "Have- have you been watching me? This whole time?"
The Valg's smile vanished as he ignored her and looked at Manon and Petrah, and said in the most horrific, ancient voice that carried an echo of millennia "Traitors! Traitors!"
Manon's iron teeth came to view as she spoke, "How many of you are here?"
The Valg started to slowly come towards them, "Oh, they do not know of any of you being here. I shall kill you myself and take the glory for myself once I bring them your dead bodies. What a feast it shall be!"
And then, he jumped, right towards her but y/n managed to quickly dodge away from his path, ripping some of his skin off with her iron claws in the process. He was too quick. Whatever these Valg's posessed, it gave them unimaginable powers. Speed is just one of them.
Petrah sprang into action, her iron claws and teeth glinting menacingly in the dim light of the cavern. She moved with a feral grace, ready to confront the Valg with all her strength. Manon and Lucien swiftly joined her, drawing their swords with a determined resolve.
The Valg hissed as it faced the group. Its twisted form was adorned with dark symbols and runes that pulsed ominously with power. The cavern seemed to tremble with its presence, shadows swirling around it like tendrils of malevolent energy.
The Valg let out a guttural growl. It lunged at Petrah with startling speed, claws extended to rend and tear. Petrah met its attack head-on, her iron claws clashing against the Valg's twisted talons.
It retaliated with a burst of dark energy, sending shards of stone and earth hurtling towards the group. Lucien deflected them with his sword, his movements precise and calculated.
Manon danced around the Valg, her sword a blur of lethal strikes. She aimed for its joints, seeking to disable its agility. The Valg countered with a blast of searing energy, forcing Manon to leap back with a curse.
When she saw an opening, y/n lunged. She aimed for the Valg's back, trying to claw its heart out like she did with the other beast in the forest. But the creature moved too quickly, appearing right in front of her, mouth wide open as it battled against her, claws clashing as it tried to bite her throat.
Sensing an opportunity, Lucien lunged forward with a decisive strike, his sword slicing through the air with deadly intent.
With a final, resounding blow, Lucien's sword pierced the Valg's heart. Dark blood spilled from the wound, mingling with the shadows that surrounded them. The creature let out a haunting cry, its form dissolving into wisps of dark smoke that dissipated into the cavern air.
Silence descended upon the cavern, broken only by the ragged breaths of the group. They stood together, chests heaving with exertion and adrenaline still coursing through their veins. Y/n tilted her head back while closing her eyes, relief flooding her as she looked at her companions.
They all seemed fine. As fine as someone who fought against a demon beast could be atleast. But it wasn't until Petrah looked up at everyone with wide eyes, suddenly falling to her knees while clutching her stomach, blue blood visibly beginning to cover her hands.
No.....no, Petrah could not die like this. She could not.
Before y/n could even process it, Lucien ran towards the witch, screaming, "Petrah!" Manon, wide eyed, shouted, "Quick! Get her on Luna! We have to leave, now!"
Lucien easily got ahold of her, gently lifting her up in a bridal style as he ran after Manon, y/n following suit, covering their backs.
"Just press on the wound Petrah! We will get you healed soon, please just hold on a little more."
Lucien'c voice was frantic, unrecognizable as they all quickly made their ways to the wyverns, Manon looked at the prince, "Do you know how to ride a wyvern?"
"I-"
"Yes or no, we are loosing time!"
"Yes! I will! I will manage just- just help me get her on Luna!"
Once Petrah, barely conscious, was secured, Lucien sat right behind her, gripping her waist gently as he took ahold of the wyvern's reigns with his other hand and immediately leapt off the ground, followed by Manon and y/n.
They flew as fast as they could, Lucien leading the way and shouting at Luna to fly faster. Y/n could only hope that they would make it in time to the palace because even though she hadn't known Petrah for very long, she had grown to warm up towards the witch. Not to mention how they were of the same kin which made y/n feel protective over her.
Once they reached the palace, y/n landed first followed by the two wyverns. She quickly ran towards Lucien to help as Manon went inside to call for a healer immediately. The distress written all over his face made y/n feel so worried for her dear friend. She knew how he felt. After all, that is exactly how she was when Fenrys got injured. Why? she had no idea.
They entered the palace, Petrah barely holding on, Lucien going livid while carrying her in his arms, Y/n by his side, her hand on Petrah's stomach, covered in blue blood. Manon came rushing back with not just some of the healers but also Aelin, Rowan, Aedion and Fenrys.
There was chaos all around her and when the healers moved to take Petrah and put her on a stretcher, Lucien growled. He growled at the healers as if they were an enemy, "She goes in my arms."
The healers nodded and quickly lead the way, followed by the others and y/n was also about to follow when someone grabbed her arm and turned her around, making her loose her balance and almost crush with a hard chest. The hands went to her shoulders, helping her to stable herself as she looked up to see.....Fenrys. And Cauldron save her, he did not look happy at all. His onyx eyes were wide with anger as his grip on her tightened.
Before she could blink, he dragged her with him, not caring about the blue blood on her hands and arms getting on his skin too. She had no idea what was going on, where he was taking her, just stumbling behind him as he gripped her by the arm and lead the way.
"Fenrys what are you doing?"
He didn't answer.
"Fen, slow down!"
He didn't.
"I swear-"
He opened some door and shoved her in, following close behind before locking them in.
When he turned to face her, his fists were clenching and unclenching beside him as the vein on his neck was also popping out due to the clear anger at whataver it is that he was presenting her with.
Fenrys came to stand right in front of her, their chests touching as he suddenly grabbed her jaw with his hand and turned her face from one side to the other, assesing her.
Her brows furrowed, "Fenrys-"
"Shut up."
Well, he was definetly mad at her. His voice was filled with a mixture of frustration and worry.
Once Fenrys was done assesing her face, he took a step back before looking all over her body, from her head to her toes, to her wings. And once he was done with that too, he looked back at her eyes, his intense eyes focusing in on hers.
Y/n felt like she wanted to shrink and become invisible under his livid gaze. Before she could question him even further, he once again came to stand in front of her, looking down on her face.
"How dare you."
Confusion was evident in her face as y/n asked, "What?"
He suddenly grabbed her waist pressing her body to his with one arm and gently bringing her head to his chest while caressing her hair with the other.
Now, he whispered, "How dare you put yourself in the way of danger again. Didn't I promise you that I would shield you from any kind of darkness? How can you go there without telling me, risking yourself."
He was concerned for her? This was why he was mad? Because she put herself in danger?
"Fen-"
"What if it was you instead of Petrah? I would have to go on a full on killing spree then, paint this entire kingdom in black blood."
She tilted her head back, raising an eyebrow, "And where is this protectiveness coming from?"
That question seemed to change something in him, making realization over what he just said take over his face, causing him to slightly loosen his grip on her.
And then, he said the sentence that completely shattered any foolish feelings or growing hope within her chest, bringing her back to reality.
"How will you go back if you're dead? Can't have you dead on my watch, friend."
She pushed back, ripping herself out of his arms as she looked at him, her face full of rising anger and annoyance, "So that's it then? you need me alive so that you won't feel responsible or guilty if I end up dead? So that you can send me back to my world? That's it?"
Fenrys scoffed, crossing his arms, "What did you expect, y/n? That just because I talked with you, that because we kissed and I ate you out, we would have some sort of a relationship? Well, let me tell this to you now, erase any of those kinds of thoughts. You and I have no happy end. It was just purely physical."
It wasn't just purely physical though and he knew it. It was far more intimate than that.
Logically, he was right. They were nothing, they would always be nothing. Their story would be a tragedy instead of a happy one. She has to go back and he has to stay here. They were both stressed and used last night as an opportunity to be vulnurable and intimate with one another. Logically, she should agree with him because after what happened with Azriel, her heart shouldn't feel this way.
But, emotionally, she was just dissapointed. Why? She had no right. He was right, her mind was already getting ahead of itself, imagining a future that would never happen.
Foolish, foolish heart.
With a deep breath, she looked back at him, sculpturing her face into a mask of indifference as she moved past Fenrys, while speaking with a cool and steady voice, "You are right. We are a tragedy waiting to happen."
Before she could hear his reply, y/n quickly left the room, closing the door behind her as she strided towards the healers hut.
Once she reached the place, y/n saw everyone except Yrene and Lucien gathered in the room, waiting for Isolde to come out from the adjacent room with news. At her confused expression, Lysandra said from her place on the couch, "Lucien refused to leave her side. When Rowan and Aedion tried to move him away, he threatened to rip them apart."
Interesting.
She nodded her head slightly in understanding and looked around the room. Everyone's expression's were solemn and mournful, Manon looked worse than them all, Dorian kept on caressing her back and pecking her head with light, gentle kisses as she leaned on him.
She went and sat beside Manon in the corner of the room. Placing her hand on the queen's shoulder. Everyone was busy with their own hushed conversations as Manon whispered, for only y/n and Dorian to hear, "It's my fault."
Both the Illyrian and the king beside the witch replied at the same time, "No!"
Dorian's grip on her tightened, "It's absolutely not your fault, witchling. How-"
Manon just moved back from him, now sitting upright between y/n and him as she stared off into the distance with a sad smile, "The Thirteen died because of me. Now, she will die because of me too. I really am a kin slayer."
Y/n had no idea about who The Thirteen were but, she knew about Petrah and Manon for sure wasn't the one to blame for her injury.
Dorian took her face in his hands and turned her face towards him, "Manon, listen. The Thirteen chose to sacrifice themselves for a better world. You didn't force them, you didn't order them to do it. They did it because they loved you and wanted you to lead the witches into a brighter future."
She just shook her head and y/n put her hand on the witches, making both her and Dorian look at y/n. "Manon, we all went there while knowing what could've happened. Petrah went there, she followed you because you are her queen. You are her leader and she is loyal to you. Her loyalty and repect lies with you. We all fought and Petrah got that injury knowing that it was a possibility when we first came there. So I will not allow you to blame yourself over her attack."
The queen's expression was still sorrowful but the corner of her lips did twitch slightly while her grip on her hand tightened and y/n took it as a form of progress.
Manon whispered again, "When we were in Morath, Erawan would tell us how he was planning on sending his valg spies into the area between those to mountains in Orynth. That's why I thought maybe they could've still been there."
Aelin's voice made the three of them turn towards her and y/n's eyes caught Fenrys entering the room, no sign of any blue blood on him. He clearly changed out of his clothes. His eyes went straight to her but y/n willed herself to look at Aelin.
"Alright, since we are all here, waiting for news on Petrah's well-being, we might as well discuss our next move," the blond queen looked at Chaol who was still in a wheelchair next to Eva, "Chaol, since you're her husband, I am guessing you have an idea on Yrene's progress."
The man just sighed as he said, "Obviously, from the state that I am in, my wife is working very hard. I try my best to persuade her for some rest but, she won't move away from the damned books. She eats and drinks but doesn't sleep. And everytime I ask her on what's happening, she just shushes me and tells me 'soon'. So, that's all from me, really."
Aelin nodded and looked at y/n and Manon as she said, "And now, thanks to these four, we know where the valg may be hidden. We just don't know how many of them are there and how deep they are settled. We need a proper sketch and layout of their place."
Rowan got up and headed towards the door, "I will go find Nox. He is good at staying hidden and working stealthily."
Aedion looked at his cousin, "And once we figure every detail about them out, what then?"
Aelin looked at everyone in the room, "Then, we destroy them, and hopefully, whatever Yrene finds, will help us to completely end the valg. And then," the queen turned to look straight at y/n, her gaze unvawering, as she said, "And then, y/n closes the gates."
Y/n furrowed her brows, her heart rate increasing, "And how do I do that?"
Aelin crossed her arms, her gaze calculating, "I guess that is the only thing left for us to solve now."
So this was really happening now, wasn't it? Just one more step and she would be home with Lucien. Somehow, that thought left a sour taste in her mouth.
The door on the other side of the room opened, Isolde coming into view, everyone's attention went to her as she smiled slightly and said, "She will be fine. The wound was deep but no concerning damage was done to the internal organs. Thankfully, you managed to bring her quickly for medical intervention which is why a complication like infection wasn't observed either. She is still unconscious but hopefully, with our healing and treatments, she will be awake in a few days."
She heard audible sighs of relief, one coming from her and the witch beside her as Manon sagged back into Dorian's embrace while still holding y/n's hand.
"Thank you, Isolde." Aelin hugged the healer as everyone started to slowly exit the room. Fenrys glanced at her once more before pushing past Lorcan and leaving. Y/n guessed it was about time she went up to her room and washed up before hopefully, getting some much needed sleep.
Isolde opened the door and went back into the room, but not before y/n saw a glimpse of Lucien's red hair, as he sat on a chair, his head low, arms on his knees, right next to the bed Petrah was in.
He was an idiot. A fool.
Fenrys closed squeezed his eyes shut as he sat on his balcony floor, leaning against the wall six hours later. For the past few hours, ever since his little heated argument with her, he tried to keep himself busy, hoping that he would forget whatever was between them. Whatever this constant pain in his heart was.
After he left the healing hut, Fenrys shifted and took a walk through the woods to clear his mind. When that didn't work, he had Lorcan fight with him in the training ring. When that didn't work either, he immersed himself in paperwork, signing and reading countless letters and news for him. Unfortunately, two hours of that didn't help either so, he tried to help Yrene with the book-- solving whatever --but she kicked him out after only a half hour of work because according to her, 'he was stressing too much about something, which made her stress too.' And lastly, he sat with Abraxos and Luna but the two wyverns seemed to be quite occupied with one another, making him feel jealous of a Gods damned wyvern, so he left them too and came to his room, still unsuccessful in his conquest of forgetting y/n, staring blankly at the last rays of sunlight before the dawn of the sunset.
The face she had made when he had talked so cruelly to her constantly replayed itself in his mind, causing him to groan out in frustration. He didn't mean it. Gods curse him, he didn't mean any of it. But his foolish, stubborn side made him blabber those words out at her, still, for some reason, annoyed at the fact that she would leave soon. And Aelin openly stating that earlier didn't make it any better.
Why? Fenrys why?
That was a good question, one to which he still had no answer. Fenrys definetly felt something for her, that much he can admit and after what happened last night, his feelings only intensified. But she wasn't his. Yes, he made a promise and yes he would keep it. Even when she will be long gone, back to her world, he would still ensure that her light never dims.
But it was normal right? Friends care and protect one another and y/n had become a very good friend to him in these last few weeks.
Friends don't kiss each other on the lips.
He ignored that silly little voice. He seemed to be doing that a lot these days, ignoring.
Fenrys sighed and opened his eyes, soaking in the view in front of him. He acted like an uncultured beast towards her today. He could never stoop as low as anyone else in her life did towards her, as Azriel did towards her. Gods, if he made her feel pained, what is his difference from that other male? If she ever told him that he was just like Azriel, Fenrys would have to kill that bastard male first and then kill himself because none of them ever deserved her kindness, her care....her heart. And that wouldn't do. He had to apologize, had to make amends, but how?
You know how, idiot. The place.
But, is she the one? Does she deserve to see that place? To recieve that gift from him? He meant to show that place only and only to his mate, if he ever found them.
Don't be foolish, Fenrys. Show her.
A sudden surge of determination and need took over his senses as Fenrys got up and headed towards his bane of existence's room.
He knocked on the door once, she didn't open.
Twice, she didn't open.
On the third time, the door opened and he was met with a very angry yet adorable looking witchling.
She clearly woke up from some kind of a nap because her hair was a mess, her cheeks were red and her clothes were crumpled. But what made her even cuter was the way she tried to seem intimidating by giving him an angry glare and crossing her arms over her chest.
"What."
That one word brought Fenrys back from his little world as he cleared his throat and told her, "Get changed, I am taking you somewhre."
She was about to protest when he raised his hand, effectively silencing her. "I'm sorry if that sounded like a question. Get changed, I am taking you somewhere."
And with that, Fenrys turned around and left down the hall with a smirk, knowing how curious she was and that in the end, it would win over her other feelings, making her follow him.
Twenty minutes later, he saw her come down, dressed in a simple long sleeved, ankle length, light gold dress that still somehow managed to make her the most attractive being he had ever laid his eyes upon.
She was furious but in the end, her curiosity got the best of her as she got ready while still cursing Fenrys' name and whatever his plans were. But, seeing him so enthralled with her, taking her in from head to toe when she came down the stairs, made y/n feel a level of confidence and power that she had never felt before.
Fenrys himself looked beyond attractive as she took him in. Hair let loose, cascading down to his chest, a simple white tunic and black pants with knee high boots. Yet he still looked so hot and delicious and otherworldly and charming and-
Enough. What's wrong with you??
Y/n reached him and cleared her throat, causing the male to refocus his attention on the reality. He put his palm behind his neck, rubbing it as he smiled a little, "You look....beautiful."
She wanted to thank him, to compliment him in return but, he still had a long explanation to make and she wasn't about to just forgive him this easily.
Fenrys turned towards the doors and said, "Follow me."
And follow him she did. They walked inside the forest, going deeper and deeper with each passing second, making y/n question her choice of wearing a dress. It seemed like hours, sunset already starting, before they reached the apparent location. Multiple rows of vines were hanging from trees, covering the view beyond. Once Fenrys made way for them, they reached an opening.
And y/n let out an audible gasp at what she saw.
Soft, iridescent mist drifted lazily through the air, catching the dappled rays of sunset that filtered down from the canopy above. The ground beneath was carpeted with lush moss that glowed with a faint, silvery luminescence, casting gentle reflections onto the surrounding foliage.
In the center of the glade, a crystalline pool of water shimmers like liquid sapphire, its surface as smooth as glass and. Ethereal blossoms of palest blue and silver grew along the water's edge, their delicate petals unfolding in silent reverence to the magical energies that imbue the glade.
Towering ancient trees with silver-barked trunks encircle the glade, their branches adorned with shimmering leaves that seem to dance with every breath of wind. Ethereal creatures, elusive and radiant, flit among the branches, their forms translucent and their voices a melody that echoes through the glade.
And because it was dusk, the glade took on an otherworldly glow. Fireflies with wings of opalescent hues emerged from hidden alcoves, their gentle bioluminescence creating a constellation of flickering lights that hover above the glade like a canopy of stars.
"I found this place absolutely ruined after the war and transformed into what it is now. No one knows of it's existence. Well, apart from you and me."
Y/n turned her head to look at Fenrys, a little behind her, also looking around as he continued, "I found this place on accident, really. I saw the lake and though everything around it was destroyed, it still shimmered, still called to me. I also felt the immense magical presence still surrounding this place."
He looked up with a serene smile, "The Little Folk also helped me. They recognized me as someone who was worthy enough of helping, and aided me in creating this place. Ever since then, it has just been a secret. A well kept one. And I have been coming here whenever I needed an escape, which seems to be happening more and more nowadays." he finished his explanation with a low chukle.
Y/n's lips trembled as she started to slowly approach him, her voice shaky as she asked, "Why? Why show this place to me then?"
Now standing side by side, right next to the water, he turned to face her, his face becoming serious once more, "Y/n, I am truly so sorry for what I have said to you. I know I may be hard to be around with but I am trying, I am trying and it's for you. Only you. I will be truthful for I do not enjoy lying. I have come to feel some things towards you. A mixture of things, actually. Care, adoration, respect, loyalty. I have come to enjoy your presence in my life, too much actually. And I know I shouldn't because you will leave at some point. You will leave and forget me-"
She shut him up with a kiss. He was startled for a moment but then kissed her back. Her hands came around to his back as he pulled her even closer. After what felt like forever, they pulled back for air, both of them panting heavily as y/n whispered, "I will never forget you, Fenrys."
The second she said that, he pushed back, his eyes going wide, clutching his chest.
He was planning on giving her the gift. The one he had created so many years ago with a silly little hope of ever gifting it to his mate. The special one. But what was happening to him now, made him realize that it wasn't a silly little hope. It was real.
Fenrys suddenly felt that unmistakable bond, that unmistakable golden thread that began woving itself within him. That immediate rush of unexplainable mix of emotions and powers hitting him, making him realize that.....
Y/n, the y/n standing in front of him, was Fenrys' mate.
Oh, fuck.
