Since @hikariyagamiweek was currently going on and the final prompt (+for today!) is "Vacation / Day Off"... While I unfortunately couldn't create many new works in recent time, I would like to re-link my AMV that has strong Hikari focus, including where I focused on directly showing my Hikari's characterization! Mimi also co-starred here and there's quite a bit of varied ship moments included (while the main 'focus ship' was still KouTai / Taishiro, my main Digimon OTP) but I did intend to focus heavily on both Hikari and Mimi with this specific AMV as well. The differences between Kizuna and 02TB styles

Yes, you read it right: There are subtle style differences between Kizuna and 02TB. I'll talk about them in this post.

02TB and Kizuna might share most of their staff (I didn't see a list of the staff for 02TB so far, correct me if I'm wrong please) and both had been animated by the same animation studio, Yumeta Company.

Although the art style is still the same, what changes is that 02TB adds a lighting effect to the characters..

you see it immediately when you place Daisuke's artwork from Kizuna next to his artwork from 02TB. Kizuna's style is a solid color with shading and subtle light effects (on hair, in this case) -- But 02TB has not only solid colors + shading but also lighting effects! And the hair gets also lighting effects alongside the subtle highlights from Kizuna style.

Both Kizuna and 02TB have different light and shadow effects depending on the environment in which the scenes take place, and this is where you can see the differences between the two when you put them side by side.

I'M GOING TO PICK SCENES OR FRAMES FROM BOTH MOVIES WITHOUT GIVING AWAY ANY MAJOR SPOILERS, IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN BOTH YET.

Starting with this scene. Notice how in Kizuna the lighting is only on the boys' hair and on Daisuke's sunglasses, while in Kizuna there's a lighting effect on all their bodies + the hair has the subtle Kizuna-esque highlight in everyone's hair.

Kizuna and 02TB have sunset scenes, which is my next pic. Note how the lighting in Kizuna is different from 02TB:

In which Kizuna lacks the "lighting effect" and works more with ambient light, while 02TB keeps the lighting effects under different ambient light.

Said effect is still present in dark rooms/ambient, unlike in Kizuna:

Yes, Taichi's, Agumon's and Gennai's "light effect" here is their solid color. Meanwhile with Rui... His hair presents lighting effects.

The only place to not have the lighting effect on everything on a character in 02TB is the Imperialdramon Space scenes, but even there there's a difference from Kizuna's OWG-esque scene:

Yes, the hair and the shades. Also the eyes. I love that scene so much, sorry. And again, Kizuna does not show lighting effects on the characters.

BUT! Kizuna does have a scene where it has lighting effects on the characters a la 02TB style. For example, the Neverland scene:

I love both movies and their artistic takes~ By the way, I think it's funny that both movies seem to invoke what happened with Adv'99 and 02, in which their styles are also not the same if you look closely!

Well...

Not sure how many people are still following this blog, or rather who's still interested on those headcanons + ideas i had in the past...

But Rui's existence goes against ▽ events and i'd like to clarify that i don't think it's a TOTAL RETCON like a ton of people are either celebrating or complaining.

I'd like to give you my own "solution" to keep Maki and Daigo + their group existing in the timeline.

First, the frustrating part about working with ▽ events and them is that there's no information about their respective ages, and we saw them in Uni as well. A friend of mine pointed this out as the biggest problem to use ▽ as it is. You either pick it or 02TB. My research about the said backstory scenes in pt4 led me to discover that... those scenes also are hard to know when they take place.

Not even the ref sheets has a single age or grad to get an approximated age for them, or when those scenes took place. They only state that those two designs are from "Elementary School" and "University" -- but the Elementary grades are not even here!? Unlike the Adv'99 & 02 kids' profiles in their respective series, which listed at least their school grades so you could know they're around their 10s.

But we know the original lore from Adv'99 + 02 -- there were other groups before Taichi & Daisuke's. One of them were depicted in Adv'99 anime and novel -- a group of five kids, and four of them got their partners evolved into the Holy Beasts (according to the Adv'99 novel). This is also used in ▽ pt4, at least. They changed a few details alas, but my point is... Until here it's everything OKAY, right?

The problem starts with the Uni scene and them being Data Bureau agents in 2005. It could mean they're way older than Taichi -- including Rui (who's a leap baby from 1992!) and this would get in conflict with their own Digi-Adventure flashbacks. Many people believed they weren't from the 90s but before the 90s because of that. You could then think they had no relation to the math lore or something, but then the presence of Homeostasis in that cold-opening for pt4 and the digivice model makes things EVEN WORSE to work with.

But like i said, i love both Maki-Daigo and Rui so i want them to co-exist. Hence why i'm believing in a partial retcon in terms of those two's ages. And it's quite recently that we all got more info about the math lore, and more confusing statements in the end...

Anyway, my solution is:

Maki-Daigo's group is indeed the quintet mentioned in Adv'99 & Novels. They were around Adv!Taichi's age when they went to the DW but possibly the other three in the group were either 2 or 3 years older. Maybe they're like the 02 kids, and weren't chosen exactly in the same year? Possibly the oldies were the other 3 who got mons alongside Menoa (she's the same age as Taichi and got her mon in 97), But Daigo and Maki got their mons in 98, alongside other 7 people...? And their Adventure was indeed in 1998.

Daigo's love confession scene has no calendars or anything to point the year he had confessed his love for her, besides being SNOWING outside -- so it's probably Winter. They're said to be Uni students, so my conclusion is...

... That the Data Bureau possibly recruited them around that time, and they're not even in their 30s in ▽? They might be even 19 years old, and only got high roles in the Data Bureau because of their title as Chosen Children and connection with Homeo + Gennai.

They aren't the first ones, but actually they might be the first group of kids who went to the DW instead.

This is my own solution for the problem. Again, I'd prefer to believe in a soft retcon or changes from the events -- in which said events in the timeline weren't presented as it is to us. Therefore i'd prefer to believe my awful people OTP is still alive and they can meet my sad potato someday.

I'd like to simple just retcon their ages from 1998 adventure and make them be 13-14 years old there, so then you could have them be in their twenties when they were recruited by the Data Bureau...

Anyway, i understand when some peeps say they can't make ▽ work with Adv'99/02/Kizuna/02TB as it was presented to the audience, because it's a hard task orz

reading the adv. novels. gennai mentions the need for the shared traits to allow link to the digivice, and thus evolution. we know the dv can trigger evos on non-chosen digimon (Leomon). I wonder if some of the chosen children could evolve non-partner 'mons in a moment of urgency, as long they shared some special trait. (think Sora and Gomamon). I wonder if this means canon offers enough to believe this is possible, even if extremely unlikely. and maybe also new evos based on said trait.

We have definitely seen humans cause Digimon that aren’t their partners to evolve in Adventure, Hikari doing that to Agumon is a great example of it, although she might be kind of an exception as she’s also somewhat responsible (in my interpretation) for the Hikarigaoka incident (as in, the Koromon from that Digiegg interacted with Hikari the most so I would believe she’s the cause of that Koromon’s rapid evolution), and that all happened before any of the kids had Digivices. So while we do see Hikari make Agumon Warp to WarGreymon while fighting Mugendramon, it might be just her jesus powers doing the trick

That said I do at least WANT to believe the Chosen could make any Digimon they can bond with evolve, the only reason the Chosen have like these very specific partners is just that these Digimon in particular are the most likely to bond with their Chosen and get along the best. They’re not special, their power of friendship is just particularly strong

So like, yeah Anon, that should be plausible in canon. And it’s a huge shame we never see that idea really explored

Associazione Aeffe e Auditorium Flog presentano, venerdì 24 gennai 2020 il concerto "Matti +".  La location è l'Auditorium Flog di Firenze (via Michele Mercati 24/b, ingresso 8 euro, ridotto 5 euro. Apertura 21 e 30)

E' l'unica data invernale della band maremmana, un evento che vede la collaborazione de I Matti delle Giuncaie con un gruppo di amici musicisti provenienti da tante band italiane e uniti da anni di collaborazione in studio e live. Si tratta quindi di una serata speciale, che parte dalla "musica popolare" reinterpretata da I Matti delle Giuncaie, con il loro Hard Folk, per arrivare alla musica elettronica ed a un remix speciale.

L'idea nasce dall'amicizia tra I Matti delle Giuncaie e Luca Guerrieri, dj e produttore originario di Follonica apprezzato nel mondo dagli amanti dell'elettronica. La sua "Harmony" è un classico proposto anche da Pete Tong su BBC Radio 1, il recente album "It Never Ends", uscito sulla sua Claps Records, è un viaggio musicale che mette insieme vent'anni di carriera.

L'obiettivo dell'evento del 24 gennaio all'Auditorium Flog è quello di sperimentare un mash-up di alcuni pezzi che la band ha ceduto, dimostrando che nella musica non esistono barriere e che anche i generi apparentemente più diversi possono fondersi per dar vita a una serata unica. Non a caso per il remix è stato scelto il brano Etnic, manifesto di un'integrazione possibile, suonato a Riace in solidarietà a Mimmo Lucano.

Oltre a Luca Guerrieri saliranno sul palco gli amici storici, con cui i Matti delle Giuncaie hanno già collaborato: Erriquez, cantante della Bandabardò, nonché autore di "Pizza Taxi", "Il Bagno nella Canapa" e "Tango Orango" ed "Etnic"; Borrkia, con cui la band ha condiviso il tour 2018 e che il prossimo anno firmerà il mixaggio del nuovo disco dei Matti; Finaz della Bandabardò, coautore del brano "Etnic"; Francesco "Fry" Moneti che ha partecipato alla tournée 2017 de I Matti delle Giuncaie, racchiusa poi nel doppio disco live "Matti live".

this is part of a theory of mine (not directly related to my usual headcanons but kinda adjacent related??) relating to Milleniummon and the FACT that he was noted to be Ryou’s Chosen Destined Digimon Partner

oh and here’s a link to the theory i posted earlier today when everyone was probs still sleeping [x]

so i’ve thought for a while how interesting it is that Ryou’s partner is a digimon with a single digicore and is a jogress evolution

to me, that meant that originally, only one of the digimon that would eventually jogress into Milleniummon, was meant as Ryou’s partner, the other? the other had to come from somewhere

so i created some evolution lines, from Baby I/Fresh to Ultimate/Mega, as a note, I’ll be using the Japanese level names for the rest of this post, so when I say Ultimate, I meant Mega Fresh/Baby I -> In-training/Baby II -> Rookie/Child -> Champion/Adult -> Ultimate/Perfect -> Mega/Ultimate

I chose these digimon for a number of reasons, i think they fit also its ironic and vaguely angsty and sad which you will understand once i explain where the other digimon comes from

so... yall know how osamu ichijouji died right? but before that, he and ken had watched a SINGLE digivice come out of the computer? then osamu put it away and blah blah, we know that story

but did you also know that ken was not intended by gennai and company to really get a digimon and digivice? in the wonderswan game Tag Tamers, we have this lovely little moment of Ken being accidentally dragged into the digital world and Gennai basically telling Ken to go sit at the kids table while the adults talked and fought milleniummon, this was before the world was literally torn into two pieces, very beginning of the game

ken happened to be there when they needed a new digikid to help fight, so they gave him wormmon and was like “congrats, you’re a chosen now”

so what does that mean about our original digivice?

it did not belong to ken, originally

it belonged to osamu, and he was meant to go into the digital world and find his partner

we know for a fact that digikids can borrow each other’s digivices to do things like evolve digimon, so that’s no biggie, ryou did that all the time because he never really received his own proper one until game 4 which was actually when he technically received a prototype digivice, based on his memories of the digivices he’s used before if i remember right

but that still means, osamu never went and found his partner, and that had to have happened BEFORE ryou went and fought Milleniummon, before Osamu died, and sometime around when the Summer Camp happened in Adv because that’s the only other time people were really getting digivices

ryou first fought milleniummon on new year’s eve of 1999, so that digi had to exist by then, and even with the time dilation between worlds, that’s a helluva long time from summer (july to august) to dead of winter, that’s plenty of time for a villain to emerge

especially

if they were already at Child level during Adventure

enter, DemiDevimon aka PicoDevimon, yes, the one that worked for Vamdemon, and yes, I know he died, there’s just one little thing about that. Milleniummon has a nasty habit of rebirthing fairly quickly. You know who else (usually) rebirthes quickly?

Partnered Digimon

so for this theory, we’re assuming that Vamdemon not only had Tailmon, Kari’s digi, under his claws, but also the Child, Adult, or Baby II forms of one of the partnered digimon that would eventually become Milleniummon

and then when demidevimon eventually rebirthed, he became a deltamon from spite. vamdemon can’t eat him now, he’s got three heads to chomp back with, aint nobody gonna crush him now

then he becomes kimeramon and one day fuses with a mugendramon and the rest is noted history

other reason i chose deltamon? throwback to that time ken used one for a trick

so that’s the kimeramon line, moving onto the mugendramon line

and yes, it is implied to be the Dark Masters one

the main thing I wanted for this line was machines, and most importantly, airdramon and metal koromon, why? metal koromon to counter taichi’s normal koromon. airdramon as a shoutout to Ken’s favorite mode of transportation

“but Essie, why are both lines so virus based”

because for one line, their human partner died, wanna guess which line I’m gonna say is Osamu’s? I’m giving him the Mugendramon line, partially because of all the tech, but mostly because Mugendramon was dying when he fused with kimeramon if I remember that trivia bit right

(EDIT: i remembered the trivia bit wrong, it was kimeramon dying, whatever, i still want mugen for osamu)

and we know one thing about when osamu died, it was either a few months before or after october 1999, august 1999 aka summer is only 2 months before that, and that’s about when the Dark Masters all died

and for the other line, there had to be a REASON why despite being a chosen kid, despite being the kid of miracles, ryou was denied entry to the digital world until they needed to kill his partner

and you and i both know there’s some serious discrimination against virus types among chosen children, please, go ahead, check the wiki, how many of the adv crew had a virus digi

i’ll wait

until ken, basically all were vaccine/data types and digivolving to a virus was a big no-no

so let’s make the hero of justice’s digimon a virus, let’s make all of that trio’s digimon a virus, they can be isolated together, they’re disaster children anyway

Thoughts, feelings, theories and assessments (esp. the 02 kids and adventure kids’ relationships) before the premiere of the final chapter

This sort of morphed from a short thread on Twitter with some friends a while back and it was as if a lightbulb went off in my head. There might be some holes and here and there, but hear me out (It’s long. I’m so sorry. Go make tea, a snack and come back and read)

First: If you haven’t already, rewatch the first 5 movies. It’s well worth it.

This post contains spoilers for Parts 1 through 5. No spoilers from the advance screenings of Part 6 are in this post. (I’m a spoilerphobe with tri of perhaps the highest order)

So here’s a few things:

All 12 of them seeing each other at once was not a regular thing. It wasn’t in 02 for the Adventure kids, that’s for sure and each episode showed this early on.

Them not being in daily communication for days or weeks was probably normal too given how things may have become for them as Chosen. They had no reason to worry--there was peace. Everyone was busy and had their lives

Whatever the 02 kids encountered prior to Part 1, it may have occurred swiftly. In other theories I’ve tried to come up with, this is one thing I think is a strong possibility. There’s been theories floated that maybe Maki deliberately sent them there because they were the active team, but what if in an emergency with no way to directly communicate, in desperation the 02 kids were sucked into the situation out of a sense of  duty and urgency?

Say in an emergency, Gennai (good) urgently tries to get a hold of the Chosen--anyone they can get--and they discover that communications have been hampered. They try and try and get a hold of the 02 kids first. Not all at once, but maybe somehow Ken, Daisuke, Iori and Miyako were able to link up. Maybe even Iori and Miyako suggested they try and get Takeru and Hikari, but they can't--time is of the essence and their help is needed post haste so they leave...and end up in an unwinnable situation.

While faced with this, the kids try to message for help as one by one--Imperialdramon, Hawkmon and Armadimon’s evolutions--are taken out, but they realize their message can't get through much like how Takeru's D-Terminal couldn't send messages in Part 4. (Maybe related: Koushiro notes he can’t get a hold of Gennai in Part 4) They're stuck with no way out nor way to call home and before they can run and seek shelter, they're all taken out (image of the final panning shot)

Due to the state of their relationship and not being in constant communication with one another, their “non-responsiveness” hasn't raised flags yet given the timeline of the films and ever-evolving and rapidly changing priorities. It could be in Part 6, albeit a bit late, they will realize they need them and *thats* when things click. I’ll concede that there is a bit of explaining to do on this point whether it’s a friendship question, or that “External Forces” (Homeostasis, the Agency, Mysterious Man, the World/Digital World) are at play.

The 02 kids are missing because of an event out of their control that we can see from the opening act of Part 1: Reunion.

What happened before that dramatic moment is where my theory comes in.

We know from Takeru in Reunion that the Digital Gate has been closed for a while and even though the Adv kids are in the Digital World right now, they got there through unconventional means which bypassed that block. Let’s assume that when the Digital Gate closed, for whatever reason, it was after a period of extended peace in the Digital World--Gennai (the real one) decided that they should let him and the Agents take care of fixing it and let them relax. After all, they had defeated BelialVandemon and Oikawa became an extra barrier for the safety of the Digital World, there wasn’t any need to be worried.

Over time, maybe during this peace, the 02 kids and Adv kids find themselves in a kind of “retirement” or hiatus from their duties as Chosen. They’re not rushing to intercept trouble or prevent anyone from taking over the Digital World or being summoned by the Sovereign Digimon to reinforce the barrier between the Worlds so they all aren’t really needed at the time.

It’s very in-character for Gennai to tell the kids to take it easy. I could see him not having any reason to be concerned. “We don’t get together as much as we used to anymore”

I strongly believe Koushiro’s line in Part 1 wasn’t just a cute reference to Our War Game--where they were hampered by the fact that they could not communicate to assemble everyone, handicapping them at the start versus Diablomon--but actually a comment on the current state of their relationship between the 12 of them.

Perhaps in a similar way to Our War Game, the 2nd original film, the kids slowly settle into “normal” routines and “normal” lifestyles as Jr and Sr High School students. Perhaps as a result of this state, the Adventure kids and 02 kids aren’t really communicating or seeing each other as much--not because they’re no longer friends, but simply because there is no reason to. They’re not having hush-hush meetings in the computer lab nor strategizing at Koushiro’s apartment over the latest Digital World developments. They drift apart somewhat, but, they’re still in touch. Life is good for all involved from 2003 onward.

Joe and Miyako being in their respective final years of High School and Jr High are likely becoming consumed by their studies (but Joe isn’t quite at the stage we see him at in Part 2) everyone is leading their own lives waiting until the day they’re called again (though not expecting). Rewatching Part 1, you can see that Taichi wasn’t terribly aware of Yamato’s band activities. It’s played as a normal conversation for laughs, but I’d say it’s another way the story demonstrates how little they hang out compared to before.

I think we can safely assume their relationship is in the state it’s in is close but not I-know-every-detail-of-your-day level. After the events of Part 2: Decision/Determination, Hikari and Takeru go and try to find out what’s going on--no one answers at the Ichijouji residence (Empty? They could be out for the day (or town) and Ken is busy himself given they may not be aware of his daily activities), Takeru fires off a text to Daisuke and presumably the others. Had things not escalated as much in Part 3, they probably would’ve had more time to sleuth around and investigate and take notice of the flags, but then the infection and Meicrackmon took priority. Had this had their undivided attention, I’m sure the story would have had them speak to the older Chosen to note they couldn’t get a hold of the other four. 

(What I also find curiously interesting is that Daigo is also aware in Part 3 that the 02 kids are missing. Whatever his implication is in the events that led to their status, it’ll be interesting to learn the extent of what he knew. Given how crushed he was by the fact Maki was lying point blank to Yamato and to himself, I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if all he knew was they had lost communication with them, not that they had been ambushed)

Closed Gate = Closed Communications

We know from a few things in Part 3: Confession that, granted we are seeing a post-reboot DW, communication between the Digital World and Real World seems to be hampered as seen when Takeru tries to use his D-Terminal to message Maki but the message doesn’t go through. We could chalk this up to it being a reboot bug, but what if this “lack of reception” had been around the time when the Gates remained closed? Now wouldn’t that cause problems if any of them made it into the Digital in an emergency through unconventional means but had no ability to communicate back for help? If this had been the case, neither of them would know this was a problem. Keep this point in mind.

Something occurs suddenly in the Digital World. Maybe only the 02 kids, or only Daisuke, Iori, Miyako and Ken, are able to get to a Gate. They get there, try to get a handle on the situation they’re facing only to be up against something they couldn’t fathom even keeping at bay. Maybe the Gate was closed,(maybe those screens we see in the canyon in Part 4 were Gates that were out of service) so somehow they go in through an unconventional method, but when they get there and things escalate too quickly. Even though they may have sent messages for help...maybe they were never able to send at all.

What also occurred to me is that Meicoomon’s nature distorts with digital communications. Would its existence in the Digital World have begun a slow corrosion of digital infrastructure there? (That is: The Gate, the D3s’ Gate opening abilities, D-Terminal/Digital communication between the Real and Digital World) We can also see from Part 3 onwards that access to the Digital World is currently only being done through the distortions.

The Role of  the 02 Kids in the Final Film

Difficult to pin, but I have confidence (blind?) that we are not in for a repeat of the role of the Adventure kids during the events of Movie 3 (Hurricane Touchdown), granted there are similarities to tri.: Missing kids, a tamer with the burden of caring for a Digimon partner gone berserk who harms/kidnaps one team. In fact, I truly believe that Miyako, Daisuke, Iori and Ken are key to unlocking Omegamon Merciful Mode, like how Imperialdramon Paladin Mode was unlocked by a sacrifice, of sorts, by a heavily damaged Omegamon in Movie 4, Diablomon Strikes Back. Maybe Imperialdramon FM will reappear and sacrifice part of itself to unlock Merciful Mode, then all the kids will unlock or power the new blade it wields.

I am also Team They Will Speak (or Some Will Speak) and not Team Brief Cameo. ;;;;;

Final comment -- Regarding one scene from Part 1:

This might be random but, hear me out--Much of the thinking surrounding this opening shot with Taichi is that he was maybe feeling guilty for something, but what if it was nostalgia? Koushiro did mention that they all don’t get together or talk much anymore.

What if not only that, but what of Taichi’s scene --when coupled with his vague comment to Daigo (as teacher) about going to see some friends often but not anymore--wasn’t just about the Digimon, but just...everyone? The other Adventure kids and the 02 kids included. Peacetime and an unexpectedly long one without their Digimon and without being wound up in something with his friends….what does one do but reflect on “happier” times when in times of trouble, they were with their friends almost every day?

Everyone’s going on growing up and here he is struck with a strong sense of wanting to return to the “Good ol days” with everyone, maybe. It’s probably possible he believes that going back to that would assuage his worries a little about changes..

We’ll see what happens in the final chapter of this wonderful series on Saturday!

Digimon Tri (Final Movie)

What can I say? It’s finally the end!!! Though I felt like the ending was a bit rushed, and SOOO minimal Taichi scenes T.T

But when he DID make a come-back, that was EPIC!! And it made me love him, and my god, if it weren’t for Taichi, Agumon would have been extremely hurt because he wanted to save Meiko ... This is a SECOND time, last time she ran up to Meicoomon, Taichi have to push her aside, which ended him being separated from the team, and this time too?

I honestly don’t like Meiko on my end, at all.  And I don’t ship Taichi and Meiko on my end. No offense, this is just my opinion.

I do love Hackmon/Jessmon in this final movie, because how he decided to help the Digi-Destined and believed in them (in the last minute) without having to reboot the real world, just shows him have a heart. And I love that.

I do really really love how the Digimon’s got their memory back, because that was what I didn’t like how they have to lose their precious memories with the partners, now, they got them back, and I am really happy.

If there’s one thing I didn’t like was....I didn’t like(in fact I hate it...) what Kari said to Taichi when he decided that was the right thing i.e. destroying Meicoomon once in for all, I mean, even Yamato finally agrees with Taichi it’s the right choice. But Kari telling Taichi after everything!!! i.e. How she will probably never forgive him (for making that choice.....), that really hurt me in alot of ways, since, I love their sibling-bond.... :( I can’t help that because of this, it will always leave a scar behind their bond :( [I can’t help but it makes me dislike her a little.... What Taichi decided was inevitable, but it’s the right thing, she understands that,so, why??? >.<]

And.... Why, Why does Daigo have to die?!?! It makes no sense.... How was he hurt THAT badly??? Did they kill him off just to make it tragic???

And the 02 kids didn’t even make an appearance at the end.... how sad >.<

Gennai, wtf happened to you??!! It never explained why he became like this... Is this even the real Gennai?!

I love the reunion between Agumon and Taichi, and I love how Agumon believed that Taichi will come back i.e. he’s not dead, even when the others doesn’t really think so positively, maybe this is just how Agumon is (in Adv Tri), but I just love how he have the utmost faith in Taichi <3

I still feel the movie was really rushed, but once again, it’s over... I probably won’t watch this again on my end, because I was annoyed at some parts, overall, it was enjoyable on some parts, and it was dark. I’ll probably rewatch some scenes that I love i.e. scenes between Taichi and Agumon/Koromon etc, scenes between Takeru x Kari... And ofcourse scenes between Taichi & Yamato haha.

Commentary:

The original did not have a P.V. for this one; This A.M.V. was made based purely on feeling from the original as the song was rarely covered in the originating series' canon, though it clearly still had some relevance there too (namely, to the earlier part of that series' canon, but also extending throughout the rest).

It's a bit of "dark" song but has a really cool (rock) sound; (However, take caution if you watch!) Despite this, there's a layer of 'deeper' meaning connecting to originating characters from the series this one is from, as well.

The original P.O.V. is through a character relevant to the main villain of the originating series that inspired this take; however; this character might not be fully aware of own actions.

("Gennai" appears a bit in this one...)

{There are spoilers for mainly the initial 1st Tri trailers + Saikai opening in this; including a dialogue made at the start of "Saikai"; however, this was made a year+ or so back. Y'all, i have to take back what i said about crests and digimentals (kinda of)...

Because of this part:

As time has passed, the technology of Digimentals has become lost to history, and the remaining Digimentals are few in number.

According to ep 37 of 02, every 6 crests (Courage-Friendship-Love-Sincerity-Knowledge-Reliability) are traits found in all of the children. But he makes Light and Hope be special, and i think he meant it as "Hope, Light and Kindness are only found in a few children, so they're rare" -- right.

Well...

Remember that Gennai, Holy Beasts, and even Homeostasis (who's not a god-like figure but rather in a strong position as the security program of the DW) are said to NOT know everything in the Digital World, about human-digimon partnerships, and other stuff?

What if they weren't aware of more of those traits within a human's heart? Or emotions/feelings, like Happiness/Joy?

If there were more Digimentals in the past, this probably meant more Crests right? More than the ones we and they know?

A statement I never thought I’d hear from someone, but then again....

Below, excerpts from conversation about Mille’s reasons for villainy. Most of this is paraphased summaries of the plot of the games

so thanks to Mille's ability [over time/space], after the Dark Masters were defeated, Mille was in the background, quietly gathering his forces, because he felt an intense longing for power, (and the pull of his child) but wasn't sure how to get it (and he didn't realize he was a chosen digi either)

then ryo takes vee and they fight, and OOPS mille split the world in two....for ryo, not for any evil, he's actually abandoned that, now all he cares about is his partner that doesn't know they're partners because gennai won't tell him

and Mille just.... keeps sending digis after KenRyo @ Ryo to make him stronger, because his partner must be as strong as him @ Ken because he's jealous of how close the two are

Mille taking Ryo through time, to get away from the influence of Gennai and ENIAC and ABC (Atanasoffj-Berry Computer) but they end up in different times, so Mille's like "damn... back to the drawing board" and ryo's like "damn...who am I?" (that was game 3)

he treats all digimon like trash, even his followers, sending any that upset him, to fight Ryo so Ryo can kill them for him

but he treats these clones like precious babies, and the reason, oh the reason

and they were winning, Mille basically gives up but doesn't say so, he's just "....you want this, Ryo? I'll do it" and he jogresses with Monodramon, forming an egg that will eventually hatch and become Cyberdramon, but he doesn't say it, he puts up all these cues saying "noOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and stuff like that

in Tamers, humans and digimon were not born with a destiny forged bonded partner, unlike in Adv and ZeroTwo

in Tamers, having a digimon was more of an acknowledged choice between both digimon and human
