and with like the apology tour thing in the marcy & simon comics i believe this dude totally tried every way possible to make it up to this 17 year old kid who he in his mind had tormented for 5 years

and finn didnt even mind their past experiences at all and he was just like wow this guy keeps making dinner for me and all my friends every single day and he also packs paper bag lunches for me and does as much laundry as possible when hes in my house

I find it completely hilarious to think after Simon was freed from the crown and got to be himself in Ooo that he and Finn have a close relationship that neither of them understand.

Finn views Simon as a fellow human, someone he saw at their lowest point and now is on the upswing and now they can be buddies and go on adventures together. He also wants to do sleepovers all the time, what a bro. Simon sure is fussy with him, like Jake sometimes is, must be because they're such good friends.

Simon meanwhile is going around to people in Ooo like 'why did you let a child/teenager live alone in a treehouse with a dog and access to weaponry while making him fight monsters?' and when no one stepped up, Simon unofficially claimed Finn as his own. He checks in regularly, goes over a brings groceries, cleans up the treehouse, educates Finn as best he can on human anatomy, culture, history as well as other stuff.

Its so obvious to everyone - especially Marcy who is laughing her ass off in the background - that the former Ice King is trying to parent Finn who doesn't get it and proceeds to friendzone the hell out of his father figure.

One thing I've often wondered is who the hell had the talk with Finn? Because no one in Ooo would know jack about human anatomy or reproduction. For the longest time Marceline was the closest thing to human in Ooo besides Finn and she was 7 when the mushroom wars happened, so she definitely doesn't know, or at the very least doesn't know the male half of it.

I bet you after Simon returned Finn was hanging out with him and made some "pee is stored in the balls" joke in front of him, except he'd be dead serious and think it's correct and Simon would be like, "Finn no, thats not how that works, has...has no one had the talk with you??" And Finn would say, "What talk?" And this is how Simon realizes that Finn made it all the way to 17 not knowing anything about how his body works and that he was gonna have to be the one to traumatize him. And it would have been so fucking funny.

Hey anyone else remember the episode of Adventure Time called "Evergreen" where it's revealed that the original bearer of the crown to whom it was "forever linked" was actually a neglected child (and prior reincarnation of Finn) named Gunter trying to be like his wizard father?? Anyone??? Because I had fully forgotten until re-watching the episode last night and I'm losing my mind about the implications.

(This episode is also a devastating look at how a mistreated child unconsciously learns that he must treat himself and those he has power over as cruelly as he has been treated. Adventure Time has so much sadness and madness, y'all.)
