Here is a shorter version of one of my favourite books “the alchemist” this will not live up to the full version in anyway but some people don’t have the time to read a great book so he’s the shorter version.
———————————————————————
Once upon a time, there was a shepherd boy named Santiago who lived in Andalusia, Spain. Santiago had a recurring dream about a hidden treasure waiting for him at the base of the Egyptian pyramids. He decided to embark on a journey to fulfill his personal legend and discover the treasure.
He sold his sheep and set out on his journey, hoping to fulfill his destiny. Along the way, Santiago met an old gypsy woman who told him that he would find a hidden treasure if he followed the omens. He also met an alchemist who taught him the importance of listening to his heart and following his personal legend.
As Santiago continued his journey, he encountered many obstacles and challenges. He was robbed and nearly gave up, but he remembered the words of the alchemist and persevered. Eventually, he reached Egypt and discovered the true nature of his personal legend.
Santiago realized that the hidden treasure he had been searching for was not a physical object, but rather, it was the experience and knowledge he had gained on his journey. The treasure was the love he had found, the friends he had made, and the wisdom he had acquired along the way.
The alchemist also taught Santiago about the power of the universe and how everything is connected. Santiago learned how to transform lead into gold, not just physically but also in a spiritual sense. He learned to turn his dreams into reality and to create his own destiny.
Santiago returned to Andalusia with a newfound sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of life. He had discovered the secret of the universe and was able to share his knowledge with others, helping them to find their own personal legends.
The story of Santiago and his journey to fulfill his personal legend is a story of bravery, selflessness, and the power of the universe. It teaches us that our destiny is not set in stone and that we have the power to create our own future. It reminds us that the greatest treasures in life are not material objects, but rather, the experiences and knowledge we gain on our journey.
Santiago's journey also teaches us about the importance of listening to our hearts and following our dreams. He showed us that it is never too late to pursue our passions and that we should never give up on our personal legends, no matter how difficult the journey may be.
In the end, Santiago's journey is a reminder that life is a journey, and that we should embrace every moment, follow our hearts, and never give up on our dreams. For it is only through following our personal legends that we can discover the true meaning and purpose of our lives.

One of the things I loved about The Wild Robot from a writing/world-building perspective was that it was clearly set in a post-apocalyptic world, but the details were very vague, and you don't even know until about an hour in:
Tumblr media
"Beautiful shot," you think, and then it hits you that the whales are swimming over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Abandoned, crumbling satellites and a sunken city. And then when we do see the human city, they freak out at the sight of geese:
Tumblr media
Animal-derived plague? Global warming? We don't know. We only know that something has happened. But like the general theme, whatever bad has occurred, the natural world is thriving. An unexpected positive from a history of tragedy.

Flashback: Jason Todd when he discovered one of the trainers the Al Ghul's got for him was a child trafficker
*based off a story from the book
Jason (shocked): They… were just children.
His trainer (indifferent): Don't be so dramatic; it was necessary.
Jason (seething with rage): They were just children… and you were trafficking them.
His trainer (indignant): I did what was necessary—
Jason (raising his voice, gripping a knife): THEY WERE JUST CHILDREN, AND YOU TRAFFICKED THEM!
-----------------------------------
Jason (finishing the story): And then I murdered him in cold blood. It was fun… I think I felt true euphoria that day. Oh, and I let the kids go.
Bruce (too stunned and upset to speak): …
Dick (whispering, impressed): Resist the urge to clap.
Tim (horrified): Holy crap, did you have to detail it like that?
Jason: It's not a good story if I leave out the important parts. Like the time I recounted how I beat you up and won, I had to include the part where I stabbed your hand.
Tim (exasperated): You didn't have to and you didn’t win that! You cuffed me to a chimney at the last minute and ran off! I forgive you though, but I won that fight!
Jason (coolly): Seems like a win on my side to me. Anyway, Ra's kept assigning me trainers who were pedophiles, murderers, drug dealer; people I wouldn't let a child around. They all kept rationalizing their crimes, and somehow they kept running into my knife, or getting in the path of my gun, or “accidentally” falling off a bridge. That’s all I’ll say about that.
Tim rolled his eyes, relieved that Jason hadn’t explicitly detailed those killings. Damian and Stephanie, however, had the opposite reaction and stood up, applauding.
Cass (with a blank expression): Jason?
Jason (worried): Yes?
Cass (nodding approvingly): I’ll allow it.
Jason (smiling): Thanks!
Duke: Can somebody pass the cranberry sauce? Also, can I go next? I can top Jason's story! Let’s just say I didn’t buy that katana; nah, I earned that!
Bruce sighed, covering his eyes in frustration.
Bruce: This is the weirdest fucking Thanksgiving, but at least it hasn't gotten worse—
Alfred (making it worse): Talia and Ra's are here.
Damian (pleasantly surprised): Oh, they actually showed up!
Bruce slammed his head on the table.
Dick: That means "God… Damn it!"

"He's behind you!"
This festive season, Archibald Haddock has partnered with Narwhal Theatre to bring over a beloved British holiday tradition - the pantomime! Expect ridiculous antics, magic, high camp and of course, live musical numbers. This year, Cinderella, played by Martine Vanderzande, will be rushing off to the hottest event of the decade - the Royal Ball! The Fairy Godmother shall be played by the stunning Bianca Castafiore. Book your tickets now, and hurry before the strike of midnight!
After returning from a disastrous stay in China, Tintin wonders if he has finally bitten off more than he can chew. In an effort to save a struggling theatre, Haddock and Ramo Nash have produced a panto of Cinderella to raise funds. Tintin accepts the offer to be stage manager, hoping that staying busy during the holiday would keep his mind off the heartbreak from Chang's family drama back in Shanghai.
Not only has he underestimated how difficult stage management is, he has to deal with friction between the cast members, his own relationship issues with Chang, and a mounting pile of violent threats from far right groups who are deeply offended with the production...
The show must go on!
Haddock wrote the script, and Ramo Nash is overseeing set, prop and costume designs. Casting Chang as Prince Charming and Martine as Cinderella was an easy choice for Haddock - as Chang and Martine used to go dancing all the time, they've become excellent dance partners. Martine could also really do with the extra income, as the museum is closed for a part of the holiday.
Filling the other roles was more challenging. Haddock reluctantly casts Castafiore as he hopes her star power will draw crowds. Nobody auditioned for the role of the evil stepmother, other than irritating insurance salesman Jolyon Wagg. Surprisingly to Haddock, Wagg is a powerful presence on stage, being very capable of camping it up for the audience. Ignorant to Haddock's seething hatred of him, Wagg wants to do this to entertain his large family!
After receiving death threats from local fascists, the actors playing the ugly stepsisters drop out, fearing for their own safety. The Thompsons are sent in to monitor the situation, deciding the best course of action is to play a part in the pantomime themselves.
Calculus and a couple of trainees are brought on as stage technicians, joining Tintin backstage. Tintin finds it difficult watching Chang dance with Martine, as it constantly reminds him of how his relationship with Chang must remain secret.
also yes, this poster is a reference to the poster for Tintin and the Blue Oranges

How did Treasure Planet manage to come up with the greatest aesthetic in all human history? Victorian elegance plus space-age flair, with just enough dirt and grime and wear and tear to make it feel real? A combination of traditional and computer animation that perfectly embodies the movie's blend of old and futuristic? How does it get any better than that?

“I used to become what my mom called ‘glazed,’ which is where I’d become so hyperactive that I would just start to like speak in tongues and perceive the face of god”
“To the point where my mom would playfully be like, ‘be healed!’”
“She would hold my head and be like ‘you’ve gotta calm down’ and I’d be like ‘okay but I have a story. I’ve got to tell you a story’”
