wow!!! that’s a lotta responsibility! but I mean, what’s one more baby, hm? (im looking at YOU, Torbek & Gricko)
what do you know about raising lizardfolk young? wonder how different it is from….uh, genasi?
No more than the average lizardfolk, I have to assume. It's not like I flip through childcare books as a hobby in my spare time...
I know the biggest difference is that baby lizardfolk can eat food pretty much immediately after hatchin'. It doesn't take very long at all for our teeth to grow in, an' our mothers don't produce milk, so we sorta just immediately skip to baby food. A lot of lizardfolk prefer feedin' their children specifically bugmix--a nutritious concoction of mostly bugs that has a good texture to it, helps sharpen our teeth an' get us adjusted to tougher materials. I could probably make some myself to be honest, but... we don't know what the baby eats yet.
If I had to guess, Gid probably knows next to jack shit about raisin' genasi children. He was raised by humans, after all. I don't know much about human kids myself, but I do know they need their mothers' milk for a good while after birth... Good baron, where are we gonna find formula all the way out here...?
#Do you think fey formula is too different from mortal formula to work? Do you think she NEEDS fey formula specifically??#Shit! We still don't know if she even needs it! Where's Gricko when you need him...#// i like to assume avantris is a weird middleground of advanced medicine with rudimentary technology#// baby formula and movies and washing machines exist but cars won't be invented for another 40 years. sorry gideon no pickup truck for you#wallyanon

sucks how sci-fi movies that take place close to the year we’re in imagine technology to be much cooler than it actually is in 2024
#where’s the cool high tech stuff like those holographic screens that are always in those sci-fi movies#(technically we have them kinda but not as advanced)#instead we get stuck with shit like generative ai and cyber trucks#and the technology we already have keeps getting worse and worse#younger me would be disappointed too

You bluster frequently of exuberance for FIREARMS and FISTICUFFS and ADVENTURE, though have no human company with which to share these interests.
I think the narration is taking a page from Doc Scratch's book, and trying to mislead us without technically lying. Like - sure, Jake might be the only human in his vicinity, but I'm willing to bet that he's not alone in this house.
Also, SKULLS. Gosh you love SKULLS. There is a good SKULL at the heart of any mystery, haunting its EVERY PAGE.
If I was to assign any Aspect to Jake's general vibe, it'd be Doom. Not only is he a fan of skulls, but one of his favourite movies is Weekend at Bernie's, which is about a corpse. Plus, Grandpa was a hunter, so he killed as a hobby.
Evidently, we haven't unlocked the blondes yet. It looks like they're virtually identical to their Guardiansonas, though, right down to Bro's pointy glasses.
They're also living in the same locations that Rose and Dave were, so we can rest assured that no house-swapping shenanigans are in play.
Who do you want to be?
Well, Jane was the first post-Scratch Player we were introduced to, which traditionally makes her the leader of her session. Let's get to know her a little better.
Earlier this morning you thought you heard the mail truck, even though the mail never comes in the morning. But just to be sure, you rushed downstairs to check, even though due to recent events, you are FORBIDDEN FROM LEAVING THE HOUSE. Alas, it was not there, and you sort of spaced out at the sky with a goofy grin on your face for no great reason, and then you were caught red handed by your guardian. Then you got in trouble.
She’s apparently on house arrest. I imagine her custodian intends to keep her on lockdown until she enters the Medium, under whatever circumstances Crocker approves of.
In other words, Jane is the first Homestuck character to actually be homestuck.
You think you might be grounded now? Whatever, DAD!
And who is this new Dad, I wonder?
I speculated that Betty Crocker might be a robot, and the Crocker corporation are clearly no strangers to advanced technology, so perhaps Mr Crocker(?) is the same. Who better to guard one of your most valuable assets than a being which is programmatically incapable of betraying you?

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #10
March 15-22 2024
The EPA announced new emission standards with the goal of having more than half of new cars and light trucks sold in the US be low/zero emission by 2032. One of the most significant climate regulations in the nation’s history, it'll eliminate 7 billion tons of CO2 emissions over the next 30 years. It's part of President Biden's goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 on the road to eliminating them totally by 2050.
President Biden canceled nearly 6 Billion dollars in student loan debt. 78,000 borrowers who work in public sector jobs, teachers, nurses, social workers, firefighters etc will have their debt totally forgiven. An additional 380,000 public service workers will be informed that they qualify to have their loans forgiven over the next 2 years. The Biden Administration has now forgiven $143.6 Billion in student loan debt for 4 million Americans since the Supreme Court struck down the original student loan forgiveness plan last year.
Under Pressure from the administration and Democrats in Congress Drugmaker AstraZeneca caps the price of its inhalers at $35. AstraZeneca joins rival Boehringer Ingelheim in capping the price of inhalers at $35, the price the Biden Admin capped the price of insulin for seniors. The move comes as the Federal Trade Commission challenges AstraZeneca’s patents, and Senator Bernie Sanders in his role as Democratic chair of the Senate Health Committee investigates drug pricing.
The Department of Justice sued Apple for being an illegal monopoly in smartphones. The DoJ is joined by 16 state attorneys general. The DoJ accuses Apple of illegally stifling competition with how its apps work and seeking to undermining technologies that compete with its own apps.
The EPA passed a rule banning the final type of asbestos still used in the United States. The banning of chrysotile asbestos (known as white asbestos) marks the first time since 1989 the EPA taken action on asbestos, when it passed a partial ban. 40,000 deaths a year in the US are linked to asbestos
President Biden announced $8.5 billion to help build advanced computer chips in America. Currently America only manufactures 10% of the world's chips and none of the most advanced next generation of chips. The deal with Intel will open 4 factories across 4 states (Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico, and Oregon) and create 30,000 new jobs. The Administration hopes that by 2030 America will make 20% of the world's leading-edge chips.
President Biden signed an Executive Order prioritizing research into women's health. The order will direct $200 million into women's health across the government including comprehensive studies of menopause health by the Department of Defense and new outreach by the Indian Health Service to better meet the needs of American Indian and Alaska Native Women. This comes on top of $100 million secured by First Lady Jill Biden from ARPA-H.
Democratic Senators Bob Casey, Tammy Baldwin, Sherrod Brown, and Jacky Rosen (all up for re-election) along with Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Sheldon Whitehouse, introduced the "Shrinkflation Prevention Act" The Bill seeks to stop the practice of companies charging the same amount for products that have been subtly shrunk so consumers pay more for less.
The Department of Transportation will invest $45 million in projects that improve Bicyclist and Pedestrian Connectivity and Safety
The EPA will spend $77 Million to put 180 electric school buses onto the streets of New York City This is part of New York's goal to transition its whole school bus fleet to electric by 2035.
The Senate confirmed President Biden's nomination of Nicole Berner to the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Berner has served as the general counsel for America's largest union, SEIU, since 2017 and worked in their legal department since 2006. On behalf of SEIU she's worked on cases supporting the Affordable Care Act, DACA, and against the Defense of Marriage act and was part of the Fight for 15. Before working at SEIU she was a staff attorney at Planned Parenthood. Berner's name was listed by the liberal group Demand Justice as someone they'd like to see on the Supreme Court. Berner becomes one of just 5 LGBT federal appeals court judges, 3 appointed by Biden. The Senate also confirmed Edward Kiel and Eumi Lee to be district judges in New Jersey and Northern California respectively, bring the number of federal judges appointed by Biden to 188.

Paddock Confidential - Chapter 13.5: Antonelli's View - Pieces of a Puzzle

Pairing:
Oliver "Ollie" Bearman x Lira Räikkönen (Original Female Character )
Minor background pairings reflecting the real-life F1 grid (e.g., Charles Leclerc/Alexandra Saint Mleux)
Summary:
Rising F1 star Ollie Bearman navigates the intense pressure of his rookie season with Haas, juggling demanding team expectations and his close ties to Ferrari under the watchful eye of Fred Vasseur. His biggest challenge lies off-track: guarding his relationship with the enigmatic and fiercely private Lira, whose surprising motorsport knowledge and aversion to the spotlight hint at a complex past connected to one of the sport's icons. As Ollie fights for his future, their secret world threatens to unravel amidst paddock gossip, rivalries, and the ever-present Drive to Survive cameras. When exposure becomes inevitable, they must confront the consequences and find a way to navigate the relentless glare of the F1 world together.
Warnings and Notes:
Warnings: Depictions of anxiety, stress related to high-pressure environments (F1), mentions of past trauma (related to privacy/media intrusion), media scrutiny/harassment, potential minor F1-typical language.
Notes:
This is a work of fiction using real people (F1 drivers, personnel) as characters; their portrayals, actions, and relationships are fictionalized for the story.
I tried to follow IRL timeline in the previous chapters but the timeline will be diverted from now on
The relentless Austrian sunshine beat down on the tarmac of the Red Bull Ring paddock, reflecting harshly off the gleaming surfaces of the motorhomes and transporter trucks. Inside the cool, technologically advanced sanctuary of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas hospitality unit, Andrea Kimi Antonelli sat hunched over his laptop, ostensibly reviewing data from the morning's free practice session. Lines of telemetry squiggled across the screen – braking points, throttle traces, steering angles – the familiar language of his craft. But his mind wasn’t entirely on the delta between his laps and George Russell's benchmark. Instead, it kept drifting, circling back to a persistent, intriguing anomaly, a puzzle that didn’t quite fit: Lira Virtanen.
Ollie Bearman’s friend. The quiet, dark-haired Finnish girl who seemed to exist only on the very periphery of the F1 circus, yet occasionally revealed flashes of insight that belied her supposed detachment.
Antonelli frowned, tapping a pen absently against the screen displaying his Turn 3 performance. His memory replayed fragmented moments like disjointed data points: Jeddah, Ollie's chaotic Ferrari debut, and the sight of Lira slipping through a service door with the practiced ease of someone who belonged backstage, not a typical guest. Then Monaco, after FP3, where she'd casually dissected the tyre temperature drop-off over the reprofiled Swimming Pool kerb with a precision matching Mercedes' own internal analysis, referencing internal carcass temperatures and TPMS data interpretation. Her quick, almost too smooth, deflection about reading it in an article hadn't sat right. Where did a 'private researcher' gain that level of granular, comparative insight?
Adding to the puzzle was Ollie himself, usually open but becoming instantly guarded whenever Lira was mentioned. Antonelli recalled Ollie relaying an anecdote after Japan, trying to laugh off Lira knowing obscure details about drainage at Fiorano from a test day years ago, attributing it to 'random facts' from technical articles. Fiorano – Ferrari’s intensely private testing ground. Antonelli knew access was tightly controlled, and public articles didn't detail specific drainage from old test days. It implied presence, observation, something more than casual reading, and Ollie's forced casualness had only sharpened Antonelli's focus.
Then there were Lando Norris's comments after Australia – Lira speak fluent Finnish to Ollie, followed by her cagey reaction when Lando playfully probed about Finnish connections, specifically mentioning that Finnish world champion. Virtanen was a common enough Finnish name, plausible as an alias, but coupled with everything else... Finnish, intensely private, technically astute, comfortable yet invisible in the paddock. The pieces were forming a picture.
He minimized the telemetry window, pulling up the live paddock feed. Ollie was doing an interview near Haas. Antonelli scanned the periphery. There she was. Lira. Standing well back, partially hidden, phone in hand but eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, tracking movement, cameras, potential approaches. A familiar tension lay beneath the relaxed posture. As a TV camera panned nearby, she shifted subtly, turning away, shielded by her hair – an instinctive avoidance he’d seen before.
It reminded him, faintly but persistently, of someone else. Someone legendary for his media disdain, his need for privacy, his ability to vanish despite global fame.
Someone whose name Antonelli himself carried.
He leaned back, recalling the conversation with Toto Wolff months ago. Toto's description of Kimi Räikkönen – blunt, efficient, technically brilliant, fiercely protective of his family, building walls against the circus – resonated disturbingly with the fragments Antonelli had observed of Lira. He even remembered mentioning Lira's invisibility to Toto, a casual comment at the time. Had Toto, with his vast network and sharp mind, made a connection? A quiet, knowledgeable Finnish girl close to a Ferrari junior... It added another layer of unease.
Could Lira Virtanen actually be Lira Räikkönen? Hiding in plain sight?
The audacity seemed immense, yet the pieces fit with unnerving logic. Her comfort, her technical knowledge likely absorbed over a lifetime, the fierce privacy mirroring her father's, the Finnish connection, the deliberate alias. Even the fleeting sense of familiarity he sometimes felt around her – a subconscious echo?
If it were true… the implications were staggering. The media storm upon discovery would be immense, the pressure on Ollie and Lira unimaginable. Antonelli felt a complex mix – the intellectual satisfaction of potentially solving the puzzle, but also deep respect for Ollie's talent and hard work, and for the obvious lengths they went to protect Lira's identity. Betraying that confidence, even accidentally, felt wrong.
He wouldn't pry; it wasn't his place. Whatever Ollie and Lira were navigating, it was their path to walk. But the suspicion settled within him, changing his perspective. Lira wasn't just Ollie's quiet companion; she carried a hidden weight, a significant legacy. Recognizing the invisible burden Ollie carried alongside his own rookie pressures sparked a deeper appreciation for his friend's resilience. A strange, protective instinct flickered. He knew this paddock, how secrets unravelled. He found himself scanning differently now, noting not just Lira, but noticing who else might be noticing her. Had his own comment sparked Toto's curiosity?
He pushed the thoughts aside, forcing his attention back to the data. Speculating wouldn't find him time against George.
Later that afternoon, needing a break from the data and a change of scenery, Antonelli wandered out into the paddock, grabbing a bottle of water. He saw Lira sitting alone again at the same quiet coffee bar she'd visited before. Sketching intently, espresso beside her, lost in her world. On impulse, driven by a genuine curiosity that went beyond just solving the puzzle, Antonelli approached her table.
"Lira? Mind if I join you for a minute?" he asked, keeping his tone light and friendly.
Lira looked up, her initial surprise quickly masked by her usual polite reserve. She hesitated for a fraction of a second, perhaps assessing the risk, before nodding towards the empty chair. "Andrea. Please."
He sat down, careful not to crowd her space. "Just escaping the engineers for five minutes," he explained with a small smile. "Sometimes you need to clear your head." He glanced at her sketchbook. "That looks serious. Research?" He remembered Ollie mentioning she worked in research.
Lira closed the sketchbook smoothly, placing it beside her. "Something like that," she replied vaguely. "Just observations."
"You seem to observe quite a lot," Antonelli commented gently, trying to keep it conversational. "You pick up details others miss. Like the tyre comment in Monaco."
He saw a flicker of guardedness in her eyes, but her expression remained calm. "I listen," she said simply. "And I read. It's interesting to understand the 'why' behind what happens on track, not just the 'what'."
"Me too," Antonelli agreed readily. "The technical side is fascinating." He paused, then added, "It’s… a lot though, isn't it? This whole world. The pressure." It was a slight opening, testing if she'd engage on a more personal level.
Lira looked at him, her gaze steady, analytical, but perhaps holding a fraction less reserve than usual. "It demands focus," she conceded quietly. "On what you can control. Blocking out the noise." She took a small sip of her espresso. "How are you finding it? The pressure at Mercedes… it must be intense."
Antonelli was momentarily taken aback by the direct question, the shift towards him. "Intense, yes," he admitted honestly, appreciating the rare inquiry. "Expectations are high. Toto he expects results, constant improvement. But it’s good. Pushes you."
Lira nodded slowly, her eyes holding his for a moment longer than usual, a flicker of something akin to empathy in their cool depths. "Focusing on the process, not just the outcome, helps," she offered softly, almost as if sharing a well-worn personal mantra. "One corner at a time."
The brief moment of shared vulnerability, her quiet acknowledgment of the pressure and the subtle advice felt significant. I. He shifted the topic back to safer ground. "Ollie mentioned you're interested in art history?"
A tiny spark of genuine interest lit her eyes, the brief personal connection seemingly closed off again. "Yes. It's my field."
"Anything specific?" Antonelli asked, genuinely curious now. "My mother loves the Italian Renaissance."
"A different period, mostly," Lira replied, still reserved but slightly more forthcoming. "Early 20th Century abstract expressionism, the pioneers. Kandinsky, Malevich. The theory behind breaking form."
"Ah, challenging," Antonelli nodded, impressed despite himself. "Requires a different way of seeing things, I imagine? Like finding the pattern in the chaos?" He drew an unconscious parallel to analysing complex race data.
Lira met his gaze, a flicker of understanding passing between them again. "Exactly," she said softly. "Finding the underlying structure beneath the surface noise."
That brief exchange, her quiet empathy and the shared understanding about finding structure in chaos, resonated with Antonelli. He'd glimpsed more of the thoughtful, intelligent person behind the walls, someone who understood pressure not just intellectually, but perhaps personally. She cared, in her own quiet, guarded way.
"Well," he said, finishing his water and standing up. "Back to the data mine for me. Nice chatting, Lira."
"You too, Andrea," she replied, offering a small, polite nod as she reopened her sketchbook, retreating back into her private world.
As Antonelli walked away, he felt the puzzle pieces shift slightly again. Complex, layered, intelligent, guarded, and surprisingly… perceptive about the human element amidst the technical chaos. The Räikkönen theory felt stronger, yet confirming it mattered less than respecting the privacy she so clearly valued, and the quiet strength she seemed to offer Ollie.
Later, heading back to the Mercedes motorhome, he saw Ollie finish a media scrum. Lira waited on the edge, obscured by a flight case. As the crowd thinned, she slipped out, falling into step beside Ollie. They walked away, heads close, talking quietly, Lira melting back into the background. Antonelli watched them go – the quiet girl, the hidden connection, the constant vigilance. He sighed softly. It was a complicated puzzle with high stakes. He decided definitively: Observation, yes. Interference, no. Whatever storm might be brewing around Ollie and Lira, he wouldn't be the one to unleash it.
A few weeks later, during a break between races, Antonelli texted Ollie: ‘You guys free later? Toto gave me the keys to something ridiculous. Need witnesses.’ Ollie replied almost instantly: ‘Intrigued. Where and when?’
Antonelli arranged to meet them at the discreet underground parking garage of the apartment building where Ollie and Lira were staying temporarily. He arrived first, parking the gleaming, brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT – a surprise 'performance incentive' gift from Toto Wolff – in an empty bay. He felt slightly self-conscious but undeniably thrilled.
Ollie and Lira emerged from the elevator a few minutes later, Lira carrying a bag of groceries. Ollie spotted the AMG immediately, his jaw dropping slightly. "Whoa! Kimi, what is that?" he exclaimed, walking straight towards it, Lira following with a curious smile.
"Present from the boss," Antonelli explained casually. "Toto said something about 'rewarding potential'... or maybe he just wanted me to stop borrowing George’s."
"He gave you this?" Ollie whistled, circling the car, running a hand over its sleek lines. "Mate, that's insane! Fair play!"
Lira peered inside, equally impressed. "It's beautiful, Andrea. Congratulations. Toto has good taste."
"Come on, check out the inside," Antonelli urged, unlocking the doors.
For the next ten minutes, they were just three young people excited about a fast car. Antonelli revved the engine, while Ollie fiddled with the infotainment system, trying to find a suitably ridiculous driving mode.
"Right, Kimi," Ollie grinned, tapping the screen, "found the 'Espresso Run' setting, but where's the 'Panic Overtake' button? And seriously, mate, no racing stripes? How are people supposed to know it's fast?"
Antonelli rolled his eyes. "It's an AMG, Ollie. It doesn't need stripes."
"Everything needs stripes!" Ollie declared dramatically. "Or maybe," he glanced sideways at Lira, who was tracing the stitching on the leather seat, "some subtle pinstriping? Like those fancy suits?"
Lira looked up, a genuine, unexpected laugh bubbling up – a clear, musical sound quite different from her usual quiet murmurs. "Don't encourage him, Andrea," she said, shaking her head, the smile reaching her eyes, crinkling the corners. She leaned comfortably against Ollie's side as he put an arm around her shoulder, pulling her slightly closer. Playfully nudging his hand away from the screen, she added, "Stop trying to break Andrea's new toy before he's even driven it properly. Besides," her voice dropped slightly, a mischievous glint in her eye directed only at Ollie, "stripes are overrated."
Ollie chuckled, tightening his arm around her. "Alright, alright, point taken. But you have to admit, a little flair wouldn't hurt." He dropped a quick kiss onto the top of her head, a casual gesture of affection that spoke volumes in the quiet garage.
For that moment, watching them banter, seeing Lira laugh openly and lean into Ollie without a trace of the hyper-vigilance or guardedness he usually sensed around her, Antonelli felt the carefully maintained walls dissolve completely. She looked relaxed, unguarded, simply enjoying the moment with Ollie and the ridiculousness of the car conversation. The easy intimacy, the shared joke, the comfortable physical closeness – it painted a picture far removed from the tense, watchful figure navigating the paddock shadows.
Antonelli found himself smiling along with them, enjoying the easy, genuine affection between the couple. They just seemed… right together. Normal, even, despite the extraordinary circumstances he suspected surrounded them. The contrast between Lira here, laughing and relaxed in Ollie's arms, and the Lira Virtanen he observed at the track, was stark.
Later, scrolling Instagram, he saw a slightly blurry fan photo: the three of them around the AMG in the garage. Caption:
‘Spotted! Kimi Antonelli showing off a new Merc gifted by Toto (?) to Ollie Bearman & his mystery GF Lira! Perks of being a Merc junior! 🔥 #F1 #Antonelli #Bearman #MercedesAMG #F1Gossip’.
Antonelli sighed.
Even private moments weren't truly private. But seeing the photo, seeing the three of them looking relaxed and happy, reinforced his decision. Whatever Lira’s real story was, whoever she truly was, they deserved this bubble of normalcy, this friendship.
He wouldn’t be the one to burst it.
He liked the post and kept scrolling.

Happy disability pride month here are my disability headcanons
- the Conagher name is a big name in prosthetic appendage design and mobility aids in their area. They’re on the cutting edge of technology, offering cheap advancements in prosthetics that most people in their home town would never be able to access otherwise. Farmer neighbors who have lost hands to accidents and who had to make do with homemade prosthetics have their jobs made a lot easier through these new electronic prosthetic designs.
- Sniper, Heavy, and Miss Pauling are autistic and although it affects them in different ways they share a special interest in guns. Once a year, if they can tolerate being crammed in the vehicle together for hours, they all go pile in a truck and visit a gun show. They stay til closing, infodumping about guns the entire time, and on the way back to the base they stop at McDonald’s. It’s the highlight of their year.
- Demoman wants to start training a seeing eye dog for when he inevitably loses his other eye (I drew a whole concept art for this and gave him doggies, it’s buried in my tumblr, I can’t stop thinking about it)
- Scout is dyslexic (that’s less of a headcanon and more of a canon)
- Sniper has Ehlers-Danlos with chronic pain. He’s had significant pain since adolescence. Running around and standing for long periods puts strain on his joints, so he’s more comfortable if he’s able to stay in one spot. This is why he loves this line of work, he can do what he does best with guns while adapting to his limits. His skin also scars and bruises easily.
FUCK YEAH HAPPY DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH

“Introducing, our newest engine, ENTERPRISE! Sporting the latest and most advanced technology, setting them apart from the outdated electrics of our time. They will lead the next line of trains into the new future!”
Name: Enterprise Gender: Genderfluid Pronouns: They/She/He Role: Electric Engine
Backstory: Enterprise was made to be the next generation of electrical engines, sporting advanced hardware and mechanics that forced electrical advancements into competition. They immediately went into service as a high speed passenger train, but also as racing engine after discovering the racing scene. Much of their work is mostly racing to promote/advertise their advanced build. In their early life as an engine, they were often the target of other electrics wrath. Many didn’t like the fact they were considered the next generation, and saw them as a threat as new electrics would replace the old, so they were often picked on and harassed. Their repair truck, Pulse, was always there for them whenever they got into unwanted tussles, and helped fix them up after a majorly targeted crash during one of their first races. When things got out of hand, they were assigned a security truck so that they had extra protection whilst they were getting used to their shiny new life. The rest of the components were either recruited or reassigned to Enterprise in various ways.
Personality: Enterprise is an outgoing individual with a lot of self confidence, rarely to a self absorbent level but on occasion can be that way. They’re fairly approachable if not intimidating others with their masked appearance, which they often wear nearly all the time when outside the shed or with their components. They have a lot of fun with playful and antagonistic banter and teasing, antagonizing their enemies but being more playful to those they are close or friendly with. They often like to flaunt their new gen. Technology and advancements -> FULL BIO <-

“Pulse online. Systems check: normal.”
Name: Pulse
Gender: unknown
Pronouns: he/they
Role: repair truck
Backstory: Pulse was made specifically to be Enterprise’s repair truck, as the engine’s right hand train, he is often cleaning up their fellow component’s messes along with offering his services to other trains in the yard.
Personality: stoic, blunt (bordering on rude honestly) but within the privacy of the electric shed, he is sweet and loving.
Quirks: his mask often betrays his feelings with a pixelated face, it also does “idle animations” when they stand still for too long, as much as their partners love his vitiligo and heterochromia, it’s a sore spot for the repair truck

"Vidalia online! Ready for Showtime!”
Name: Vidalia
Gender: Female
Pronouns: They/She
Role: Entertainment Truck
Backstory
Vidalia grew and performed in a circus as their clown/jester making people laugh and doing tricks that could be deemed dangerous. When Enterprise came to the circus they took a liking to them and decided to ask Vidalia if they'd like to go back with them and the others which they happily agreed too, bringing Stripes along with them since they've been together always.
Personality
• Vidalia is happy go lucky closely compared to an excited puppy who loves to make people laugh
• They can be a bit forgetful when it comes to somethings often looking to the others when they get a bit confused
• They're also very artsy usually drawing little doodles of the others or things they notice when out and about
• With their years in the circus they are use showing off their goofy self becoming confident in who they are, though that also leads to them not really knowing how to settle down in slow moments
Quirks
• They tend to forget they're in the sun sometimes with how distracted they are causing them to overheat in those times
• When they were in the circus doing dangerous tricks they sometimes went wrong causing Vidalia to get hurt and needing to get fixed
• They have doodled on their arms sometimes, usually galaxy or nature themed things, when they get bored
• When it's time to have calm moments it gets hard for them since they've always known to be excitable and bouncy, they're not really use to calming down outside of sleeping
• Has a fascination with fennec foxes after seeing a video of them once

“Zero online. Protocol: Cryogenics standing by.”
Name: Zero
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: They/Them
Role: Freezer truck
Backstory:Zero is a prototype cryogenic freezer truck that uses liquid nitrogen for cooling. Originally, Zero was shipped off to another engine by their creators, but that engine deeply mistreated Zero. This eventually resulted in an incident where excess strain and unsafe conditions caused Zero’s nitrogen tank to explode. After this incident, Zero was taken back by their creators, who did extensive research before shipping Zero out to Enterprise, who they’ve been with ever since.
Personality: Very robotic. Comes off as very cold (heh), aloof, and stoic. Serious case of Resting Bitch Face. Very straightforward. Fiercely protective and eager to please, has a calm demeanor towards the rest of the components, really only soft towards any of them. Doesn’t show emotion outwardly and hard to read.
Quirks: Will let the other components and Enterprise do literally anything to them. Not a big fan of others touching them (touch them and you’ll probably get a cold burn), but gladly lets the other electrics pile all over them. Has a series of vents in their cheeks, torso, and back that sometimes release fog, cold or hot air, or nitrogen gas. Unusually computery even by component standards and speaks and acts in extremely robotic mannerisms. Makes their own ice cream. Assists Exodus with perimeter checks, and also has the added job of emergency cooling if Enterprise or a component overheats. Capable of standing completely still as if frozen, which the others usually take as an opportunity to try to stack objects on them.

"Bellatrix online. Monetary goods secure!"
Name: Bellatrix
Gender: Genderqueer (AFAB)
Pronouns: She/They
Role: Bank Safe Car
Backstory:
Bellatrix was originally an old west car partnered to a Steam Train named Quick Draw. After a terrible accident takes place on the tracks, Quick Draw is deemed unrepairable, dying mere hours later with Bellatrix at his side. The locomotives death completely destroys her. Unable to cope with the loss, she hides herself away, letting herself fall into disrepair as she loses the joy in life she once had.
It isn't until years later they're able to see passed the grief and push themself to at least try again. After years of being out of commission, she finds it hard to find a willing engine to couple with her for race, easily overshadowed by shiny new coaches and components, until one day an electric engine needs a quick change out before a race; spotting Bellatrix on the sidelines, they call her over, shocked over such an impressive engine wanting to race with her, Bellatrix finds herself rambling in nervous excitement as she accepts the offer. The race reignites the love and passion they'd always had for racing, and upon seeing this and finding out Bellatrix no longer has racing partner or a place to belong, Enterprise offers for them to become a component, which is easily accepted.
After this, she gets a remodel, keeping her originally purpose but with a shiny new look!
Personality: An excitable and boisterous car with a fierce loyalty to Enterprise and the other Electric components. She's quick to trust and to show love for others, almost unable to keep herself from trying to form bonds/connections wherever she goes. Full of untameable energy.
Quirks: Their excitable nature often leads them into rambling, one thought leading into the next until she has to pause in order to take a deep breath, which is often the only chance others get a word in before she's yapping some more, often needing a gentle reminder to quiet down or let others speak; though they don't do it to be rude.
She LOVES games, often calling any and every game her favourite, just depends on what they're currently playing.
Sometimes is afraid that they embaress the other electrics and tries to tone down their joy in public.

Name: Voyager
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: they/them
Role: supercapacitor (long-distance power source)
Backstory: Voyager came from a rich family of oil trucks and had been set up from when they were a trainlet to transport oil and get rich doing it. However Voyager was always super academic too and realised slowly that the purpose that they were being raised for was literally terrible for the environment and really wasn't their passion like their parents.
Because of this, they ran away the day before their first day on the tracks. They undertook a risky and experimental procedure to change their purpose from oil freight to *Supercapacitor*, the solution to efficient electric cross-country locomotion. They became enamoured with the missions and ideals of Electricity being the future!!! So when they met Enterprise they basically fell in love with them and what they stood for and begged to join them as a component.
Personality: Voyager is super energetic after becoming a supercapacitor - they can keep Enterprise and up to 4 other components going off-line for up to 6 days!!! However after long journeys they tend to be so overtired they seem drunk, and need to either plug in for a good sleep or lie in the sun for 3 days so that their solar panels can recharge their capacitor plates. They are solar powered for day-to-day activities as well.
They are INCREDIBLY trusting (which is why they agreed to the risky transformation proceedure) but they're also smart, however the trusting tends to win over any common sense or knowledge they have over a situation. This train would fall for "hey it says gullible on the ceiling" an EMBARRASSING amount of times if they trusted the person saying it.

gotta go for a classic with 25 (kisses in the rain) for… whatever pairing you like! ☂️🌧️☂️
25. kisses in the rain
It's entirely possible that Sam should have waited.
There's a world where he tells this story to his old friends, the ones from his VA days, and they roast him mercilessly for finding a way to take terrifying leaps without ever needing to clear sea level. Sarah would, too, probably, and Natasha if she was still around.
He has all of that in his head, knows it for a fact, but there are other things that he knows, too.
He knows that they only barely survived that first clash with Doctor Doom. He knows that they're stretched thin, that this is nothing short of a last stand, them and whatever allies they've managed to cobble together from the far reaches of their universe.
He knows that yesterday, both he and Bucky had actively been bleeding and for all the jibes they'd been exchanging all day, they'd refused to stop clutching at each other's hands. He knows that he's capable of going this alone, and he knows that he's tired of doing that when he doesn't have to.
He knows that royals have a whole lot of powers that everyday people never bother to think about, and one of those powers is the ability to solemnize a union between two people.
He knows that of all the people he has ever had the joy of knowing and loving, the one who he wants to spend his life with is the cantankerous moron peering into the open side panel of a spaceship like it's the Wilson family truck and not highly advanced alien technology
He only makes one stop before ducking out of the ship, pulling Valkyrie aside to ask her a favor that has her beaming delightedly and clasping his shoulder. When Sam hurries down the gangway, the drizzle of the morning has intensified to a heavy, rhythmic patter, rain settling against grass and damp earth and smelling like home even though he's so many miles away. He has to shield his eyes with his hand as he rounds to the side of the ship, narrowly avoiding tripping over the raccoon who once tried to buy Bucky's arm, but with whom he now seems to be on at least cordial terms.
"Hey," Sam calls out, raising his voice as the rain gets heavier. "You got a second, or will the whole ship fall apart without you?"
Bucky turns and gives Sam an unimpressed look that belies how quickly he moves to Sam's side. "What do you need?" he asks, as he gets closer. "How's your side? Are the stitches holding?"
"The stitches are fine," says Sam, though Bucky's concern makes something warm pulse through his veins all the same. "Just come here. I have something to ask you."
For once, Bucky seems inclined to listen without arguing, immediately closing the distance between them. He hesitates for half a second as he reaches out, and Sam grabs Bucky's hand and settles it on his waist. Instantly, part of Bucky relaxes, both of his arms coming up around Sam as he pulls him closer.
"Tell me you didn't come out here in the rain just to ask for a hug, Cap."
"Not exactly," says Sam. "I should probably be kneeling, actually, but there's mud everywhere, and also some kind of fuel that maybe shouldn't mix with the vibranium in the suit, and..."
Bucky furrows his eyebrows. "What? Why would you be kneeling? What's happening?"
"It's just tradition, mostly," says Sam. "But you like a little tradition sometimes, so I thought I'd explain why I wasn't-"
"Tradition for what, Sam?"
Sam reaches down and settles his hands over Bucky's, interlacing their fingers and raising their joined hands to rest over his heart. "For, uh...for proposals. It's traditional for proposals."
Bucky's eyes go wide and he leans closer like maybe he misheard. "Sam?" is all he manages to croak.
In response, Sam raises their hands to his lips so he can kiss Bucky's knuckles, first on his left hand, then his right.
"I love you, Buck," he says. "I love you, and we have never not found our way back to each other, but I kind of think it might be nice if we stopped counting on the universe to keep throwing us together and just...decided to stick around instead.
"Sweetheart..." breathes Bucky.
"I know things could go bad pretty soon over here," says Sam, his voice hoarse. "So maybe the timing could be better, but baby, however long the rest of my life is, I want to spend it with you."
"You don't have to ask," blurts Bucky. "You know that, right? You know I'll follow you anywhere regardless."
"I know," says Sam, smiling at him through the rain. "I'm asking anyway. Will you marry me, Bucky?"
Even the sound of the rain can't disguise the tear-filled laugh that spills out of Bucky's mouth. "Right now?" he asks.
"What, you have somewhere else to be?" asks Sam, like he isn't holding his entire goddamn heart in his hands here.
Bucky laughs again. "Good point," he says, leaning his forehead against Sam's. "Then yeah, sweetheart. Yeah, I'll marry you."
"You're such an idiot," Sam mumbles, tipping his chin up just enough to catch Bucky's lips with his own. He feels more than hears Bucky laugh against his mouth.
"Your idiot now, though. For keeps."
Sam hums in acknowledgment, leans in for another kiss. "For keeps," he echoes, and that's something that he knows now, too.

I have an Adastra theory: In terms of technological development, Earth is way ahead of Adastra. Adastra is around the same technological level as Earth was in from medieval to ancient Roman times.
I got this idean when I played Interea. Currently the game ends when Amicus and Marco were chilling in the hot springs and they talked about wolven mining practises. Amicus said that wolves who work at the mine carry the ore by foot to the harbor where it is shipped elsewhere. Amicus also said that their road Network hasn't been updated in ten thousand years.
That made me realize how primitive the Adastran civilization really is. They have the parental tech but in addition to that they have nothing. They don't have cars, trucks, trains or even bikes. If parents decided to just disable all parental tech on the moon, wolves would be immediately reverted to medieval times at least. They couldn't be able to reverse engineer any of the tech they had before.
Then I remembered how Keith Ballard pointed out in his Adastra lets play that Amicus had lube in a jar, which is the most inconveninet container to store lube. I began to think that do wolves even posses the technology to produce plastics that could be molded into a tube that could be used to dispense lube?
It has been some time since I last played any Adastra games but I can't remember if there were ever mentioned any advanced technology that wasn't parental or Khemian technology.
If you find any errors in my theory, please feel free to correct me.

BATMAN: BROTHERHOOD
Chapter One
Wayne Manor, 9:38 pm
Tim Drake awoke with a start. “What time is it? How long have I been asleep?” he thought out loud. He jumped up from the couch, still holding the thermos of coffee he had been clutching in his sleep.
“About six hours; basically since you got home.” Tim spun around. The voice came from Dick Grayson, who had been on the opposite couch, reading. “Patrol starts in 20 minutes, but I figured you needed at least a little sleep.” He smiled briefly, then returned to his book, before marking his page and setting it on the coffee table. “Well, I’m gonna go get ready. There’s still coffee in the pot, if Jason hasn’t gotten to it yet.”
Grayson approached a large grandfather clock in the adjacent hallway. But just as he reached for it, it slid out of the way, revealing a menacing figure in grey tactical attire, a leather jacket, and a red helmet. “Me, Bruce, Damian and Uncle TJ are ready, where are you guys?”
“Apparently I passed out on the couch, and Dick was keeping an eye on me,” Tim stated, sipping on what was left of the aforementioned coffee.
“See, Jason? Calm down.” Grayson scooted past the armor-clad figure, into the opening hidden by the clock, which led to a winding staircase.
The other two followed promptly, the clock sliding back into place behind them. The staircase led to an expansive open cave, full of advanced machinery and technology: The Batcave. They approached the main platform, where three figures stood waiting. The first, a boy in red and green kit and a black, hooded cape, resembling a brightly colored shinobi. Despite his stature suggesting that he was only 10 or so, he carried a menacing aura.
The second and third looked oddly similar. Both wore full body, lightly armored suits, with strange, helms and flowing capes. Despite the similarities, there were subtle differences. One wore mostly black, had a bat symbol on his chest, and vertical, pointed ‘horns’. The other wore mostly grey, a bold “O” symbol, and short swooping wings that made up his faceplate.
The two groups met. The boy in the shinobi kit spoke first. “What took you so long? Father, Uncle, Todd and I have been waiting for ages.”
“We’ve been waiting for ten minutes, Damien,” the man in grey spoke, as Tim chuckled at the boy's impatience. "You two, gear up, briefing in ten.” Drake and Grayson rushed towards a wall of small chambers, which act as changing rooms.
—
Gotham City, 10:23 pm
The man in grey, Owlman, sprinted across the rooftops of the Gotham financial district, eyeing an unmarked moving truck. The large eyes on his faceplate held many kinds of visual scanners, allowing him to observe the truck. 12 occupants; one driver, one passenger, ten in the trailer. All armed; three low caliber pistols, 4 automatic rifles, five shotguns. He put two fingers to the side of his helmet, activating his communicator. “I’ve got a white moving truck full of armed men on 8th heading North. Engaging… now.” He leaps off the roof, spreading his cape to glide, and dive bombing the hood of the vehicle. This causes the vehicle to flip end-over-end, rolling and sliding down the empty street. “The vehicle has been incapacitated.”
The voice of the man in black bellows over the comms. “Owlman! Do. Not. Kill them. If you’re going to be on my team, you’re going to follow my rules.”
“Duly noted,” Owlman says, approaching the ‘incapacitated’ vehicle on foot. He rips the back door off, the whine of his suit’s strength-enhancing servos drowned out by the screeching, crunching metal. Only four of the ten men in the rear compartment are still conscious. While two cower in fear, the other two charge him. This is, obviously, a vain effort.
As one approaches the doorway, Owlman grabs their ankle, and throws them over his shoulder, and sends them screaming into a lamppost. The second begins spraying a frenzy of gun fire. He held up his cape, made from flexible metal, reflecting the flurry. He tried to direct them away from the vehicle, but it was too late. 8 of the 12 passengers had been shot dead. “Crap,” Owlman moaned, “he’s gonna chew me out over this.” He grabbed the two survivors from the trailer, tied them up, and approached the cabin.
—
Gotham City, 10:38 pm
As Owlman finishes tying up the four survivors, the man in black appears from the night sky. “Oh, Batman. Took you a while,” Owlman said, a sardonic tone in his voice.
Batman inspected the wreckage, then froze in his tracks. “... … … They’re dead…”
“It was… unavoidable,” Owlman said, cold and uninterested.
Batman grabbed Owlman on the shoulder, turning him to face him. “It is ALWAYS avoidable! There’s always a way to-”
Owlman cut him off. “What about what happened to our parents? Was that ‘avoidable’?” Batman is stunned by his words. “People die, Bruce. People die every day. Some day you’ve got to grow up and accept it. Today, atleast, we were lucky it was just some scumbag merc.”
Bruce paused, still recovering from the shock Owlman’s statement gave him. “Mercenaries?”
“Yes. A little start-up calling themselves, get this, ‘The Black Masks’. Sound familiar?”
“Roman Sionis. But he’s-”
“Dead? Well, yes, but that doesn’t mean he’s lost any following. A martyred leader can do a lot for a people’s morale.” Owlman paused. “They could be on some mad quest for revenge.”
“Just against me? Or all of Sionis’ enemies?” Batman asked.
“Therein lies the rub. We don’t know enough yet. You interrogate these goons, I’ll take Red Robin and check out Sionis Steel.”
“YOU aren’t going anywhere,” Bruce said with a stern tone. ”You’re going back to the cave until further notice.”
“No. No, I don't think I will,” Owlman said with a chuckle. He grappled a nearby building, launched off of it, and glided away.
“Dammit, TJ…” He grunted, sucker punching the truck, leaving a sizable dent. The onlooking survivors shivered in fear at seeing this. Well, the conscious ones, at least.

In Argentina, we got these elevated metal trash baskets in many, most of our neighborhoods. Something like this:

You put the trash bags there and the trash truck comes and get it. And I've just learned this seems to be a common thing only here (it prevents dogs from rummaging through it). Some even get fancy and make like a metal man holding the trash can. However, they seem to be only a thing here (other people can maybe confirm?) I was similarily surprised when I saw those metal trash cans in yanqui cartoon and movies.
Anyways, so I have one of those in my house, too. And in my particular case I always noticed that an anthill develops under it (anthills get BIG where I live, I would love to do a post about it someday). They don't necessarily eat the trash, they're leaf-cutter ants, but often you do see them going up and down the basket, taking stuff from there, as well as anything that might fall from a poorly closed bag. What's even more interesting is that even if I don't know how anthills here work, they seem to be cyclical. The same place would have an anthill, which then vanishes with a storm, and another one would rise later.
It gave me this idea for a place in space where stuff manifests, like a white hole. At random intervals, stuff gets deposited or comes from another dimension; powerful artifacts, strange technology and art, exotic matter and resources, luxury items, all sorts of valuable stuff. And so, for generations, there have been space stations and then habitats and then a whole civilization, which actually has had successive periods based on the different administrations and cultures that build up around this phenomenon. However, the stuff that gets deposited there is, of course, all just trash to the super advanced civilization that produces it, who barely notices if at all what's going on down there.
