i personally have very complicated feelings on the Gotham Knights video game and the routes it takes with characterization. i think it has a charm to it and it goes in an interesting direction with everyone (especially within the confides of the plot of the game) but it does have certain moments that veer painfully fanon for me. (such as: the dialogue where Tim drinks too much coffee) it's an interesting story for what it is but i don't view it comics-based for characterization and therefore don't care to interact with it much for like. fanfic purposes.

that *said* though. i do have to give the game some kind of credit for giving one of the top five JayTim moments that lives rent free in my mind. every since i played the game, the cutscene lives in my mind daily. it's the specific cutscene where Jason and Tim are arguing about whether or not Jason's non-lethal bullets are too dangerous for the field, and the argument leads to TIm *standing in front of the target* Jason is shooting and telling Jason to shoot him. it lives rent free for me. i never stop thinking about this.

the absolute certainty Tim has that he is in no danger standing in front of Jason, who has a loaded gun pointed at his face. the way Jason *hesitates* for just a moment before lowering the gun. he thinks about it for just a second. Gotham Knights JayTim seem to get along very well and can rely on each other, but Jason still clearly holds a bitterness about his death and Tim that flickers through in some lines of dialogue under the guise of jokes. especially since this game deals *heavily* with concepts of Pit Madness causing an altered state of consciousness, i think it's believable that occasionally, Jason fights the urge to fight and hurt Tim for the feeling of being replaced.

i like their tension so much in this canon. they get along but you can *tell* Tim is afraid of addressing Jason's trauma or even addressing Jason head-on, and Jason leans into spooking Tim about it. which isn't very comics feeling in their dynamic, but it is an interesting way to place their dynamic if you're playing with a more timid Tim who's newer to the role of Robin. (which he seems to be in-game) he really doesn't want to offend Jason, or worse, piss him off. but he'll still face Jason head on for things like this, while completely aware of what Jason could be capable of.

and Jason seems very protective of Tim and respecting Tim as a Robin in typical Jason fashion. if Tim pushes, Jason *will* relent. he knows this is a kid who's proved himself and should be treated with equal respect, sometimes even more than Dick and Babs do in-game.

so for all that to culminate in Tim stepping in front of Jason's loaded gun that he *knows* is on the edge of being too dangerous, just to force Jason to listen? it's the most unhinged way Tim could've gotten his point across in this scene. he was literally daring Jason to hurt him and playing with a very dangerous fire. but he did it anyway bc he believed he could make Jason heel just at the thought of hurting Tim. and he was *right*. they're gay and i'm feral ty.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but the grown-up White Haired Noir, aka, Blanc, actually originated from a brief Shipaganza idea.

Starflung and I talked a little about it, and while it came up that Noir had too many obstacles in the way of his ever properly and/or identifiably "growing up", there was nothing standing in the way of White-Haired Noir aging naturally as the games went on. I later realized his doing so solved a problem I had where I couldn't find a good ending for him. The muse works in mysterious ways!!

Starstruck Dee is someone whose existence extends across multiple occurrences. Different universes, different possibilities. Yet the majority of these are non-canon (?) Even the "starstruck" sitting with Noir here is just another non-canon starstruck!

Blanc is also a "non-canon" Noir. He's neither the original Noir who died, nor is he the Noir variant who got resurrected and lives on in that Noir's place with Adeleine and the rest on Popstar.

So they're each kind of echoes, in a way?

Chat I HATE my new glasses. They look fine but they don't fit right on my tiny little head. Slide off too easily, don't sit on my nose right. Despite my new glasses being a more intense prescription, I feel like I could see better with my oldies; looking out of these, everything is fuzzier. Its driving me fucking insane. Fuck it. I'll go to the glasses place and make them tighten these bitches 5 damn times if I must. And then I'll walk to the boba place as a treat for leaving my home for a reason that isn't work. But if tightening them doesn't fix the issue I might rip my hair out. I HATE PUSHING UP MY GLASSES EVERY FIVE SECONDS!!!

I don't understand the fuzzy. My prescription is stronger this time. I should be seeing more clearly!!! I hate this. I just want to see, normally, or the closest to normal as I can with these thick ass lenses.

But this is all true. AliExpress DID recommend me that Grimmjow figure which I had not seen before. I showed it to sis and she... "enlighted" me about it, ahah. idk its weird how a lot of the companies making sonic merch just go "oh we'll do classic sonic stuff for the adults and modern sonic stuff for the kids" when some of the modern sonic games are old enough now for there to be adults who grew up with them or weren't even born yet when they came out. and there's also probably plenty of adults out there who like modern sonic games despite not playing them as a kid for whatever reason. there's not a strict never broken pattern for the age group someone falls into and the sonic media that they like. now please make more modern sonic shirts that fit me thank you

Museum guide AU premise: Okay, okay, so Taako's a museum guide and today he's fucking done, he's just absolutely fucking done. So he's going off script and he's telling the truth instead of the shitty glossed over versions, and he's going to make sure everyone is as uncomfortable as he is about all the bullshit they stole here. Kravitz is on the tour with his Mums and they're getting more and more gleeful as the tour goes. Raven is absolutely egging him on. 1) Taako works as a museum guide and his favourite is when he gets to work with children and young people because he can make it interactive and fun, but they don't let him do that with the grown up groups even though he knows in his bones some of them would love interactive story time and getting to do quizzes and dress up. 2) Today the fancy people guide is off and Taako has to cover the Very Important People tour, but his boss also told him to go fast through some of the indigenous exhibits and "keep the guilting to a minimum" so Taako's going to bite. Hard. He already has to fight about this bullshit all the time - what's the point in learning half a history? It might not be pretty, but it's true.

3) There's a bloke called John on the tour who is on the board and donates generously to the museum and he's getting angrier and angrier as Taako facts his way through everything. Some of the others in the group (looking at you Raven, Kravitz, Istus) ask questions which means he spends much longer talking about the context and significance of the exhibits he was supposed to rush through. John pulls him to the side and fires him in the middle of the tour, so Taako tells everyone that's what happened and that as he's not an employee they really can't stop him talking now. So he finishes up with anyone who is interested. It's most of the people. 4) Kravitz is interested in the history but also very interested in Taako. His Mums are also very interested in Taako and whether a nice young man like him is single because their very handsome son is and wouldn't it be a coincidence if two nice young men who were right here next to each other were single [pointed looks at Kravitz].

5) Raven and Istus make a big ol' donation on the proviso that Taako gets reinstated. With their help he's allowed to do some more specialist tours including ones where he does interactive education for grown ups - he gets to dress up and tell stories and people love it.

6) (I told you, I'm too powerful to be constrained) Kravitz comes on one of the grown up interactive tours and uses his feedback slip to ask Taako out, but Taako doesn't actually read the slips, Sloane in HR does and boy does she recognise that handwriting.

7) Sloane gives Taako the slip (and Kravitz a lot of shit including sending a photo of it with "I think we should just be friends (as we're both super fucking gay.)") and he and Kravitz go on a date and everything's perfect and fine forever because I can do that. The power!
