I should not have to say this but if you are in a store (especially a large American warehouse style store) and need assistance, the best thing to do is find an employee and/or look around for a help button (most locked items will have one of these nearby!). Please do not just stand somewhere in the store and say “hello. Hello! HELLO!!” in increasingly loud volumes. What the fuck
#obviously if you are stuck somewhere feel free to call out but never in my life have i encountered a situation where someone is stuck#it is always able-bodies adults doing this too like who raised you!!!!!#yeah it would be nice if there was someone manning ever counter at all times but no corportation’s going to pay us to stand around doing#nothing you know? even the cashiers have to multitask packing online orders#retail#customer service#someone did this today and i was halfway across the store being like ‘where is that coming from???’#literally please. why. use your feet#also if you use a call button please be prepared to wait a moment 😭 we can’t teleport 😭

#personal#WHY DO SO MANY BRANDS NOT SELL MENS XS SHIRTS#like. yes im a tiny dude i realize that#but im not exactly an outlier! if i went to a busy mall and people-watched for a bit id for sure see other guys my size#brands will put XS on their fucking size charts and then NOT MAKE ANY CLOTHES IN THAT SIZE#i shop in kids sizes sometimes to compensate but the problem is theres often not a good selection#OR the kids sizes wont go up big enough!!#and ill be right in the horrible void between standard size ranges#where do the teen boys shop. i dont believe that they all grow so fast they skip right into adult sizes#see: all those other small guys at the mall#actually what im pissed off about today is sewing patterns because THEYRE THE SAME#was looking online in preparation for a fabric store trip#like. i will be able to find something. but it might have to be a pdf pattern and im pissed off about it

Really feeling the height dysphoria tonight y'all... :))))))
#seriously there is only one grown adult man in the world alive who i know is shorter than me#most children are taller than me an adult dude of 24 fuckin years old#i can only buy children's shoes and often online because they dont really sell those in stores#i am swimming if i get an adult medium shirt and pants are always far too long for me because 30in is way too much#working anywhere is so hard because all equipment abd surfaces are far too high up for me#and then the job refuses to buy a stool or ladder tall enough to accommodate me#my father renovated the kitchen around 2 years ago and raised everything in height#the counters are now up to my neck and the cabinets are entirely unreachable but for all other folks theyre fine#even with a stool i cant reach beyond the front of the second shelf for anything#i cant even sit down in chairs unless they are table chairs and not restaurant or bar stool height#if they are i just straight up fall over trying to sit in them or the chair falls down or both#if im going to a seated event i have to research the venue first to be sure they have tiered seating and its tiered enough#otherwise i wont see anything because the person in front of me regardless of age is always far taller#the entire world already is run by folks who are against trans people like me and who dont accommodate me#doctors dont accommodate my chrochic conditions and pain at all and never have so i just suffer#and the entirety of every place house and establishment is specifically built for people above my height by tons#so i basically live in a world that wasnt made for someone like me and i just already feel like i dont belong here#and this lack of accommodation just makes it worse

at 33 years old I still instinctively want all of my purchases to have a toy in them, and the good news is that my definition of 'toy' has expanded significantly, but the bad news is that I just bought a bunch of stuff for the kitchen but I don't immediately have any reason or excuse to play with any of it

I can't be the only one who chooses ACNH design codes based on a panicked "would I still like these codes and be willing to commit to them forever once the servers go down?" way
#I miss so badly the ACNL store patterns feature for patterns you weren't currently using#e.g. seasonal variants#so you can store away winter stuff for example then swap them out when needed#no such feature in ACNH so eventually you're gonna need your codes to look good all year round#because one day the servers will shut down and because the ACNH design code system is all fully online#well. good luck. have fun with that#you're either stuck with what you have or you'll have to manually create them yourself each turn of the season#......I really need to stop catastrophising literally every area of my life huh#this is also why I struggle to commit to buying online based games as an adult tbh#mine#acnh#gaming

So they don't even let you pick up or look at the items yourself even when they open the case for you??? How do people check ingredients for allergens and things?? What if you weren't sure which one you needed and needed to read the boxes to find out? the fuck? At least online I can take my time reading up on product stuff before picking something, getting stuff in store seems like such a damn hassle now...
>go to cvs for toothpaste and cold medicine
>hit button for employee to open the toothpaste case
>grabs it before i can
>"i have to hold this at the front for you until you check out"
>go to cold medicine aisle
>ring bell for employee to open the cough medicine case
>nobody shows up
>ring again
>nobody shows up
>check case
>case is unlocked
>take cold medicine and go to check out
>grab toothpaste from unmanned register
>have to use self checkout
>scan cold medicine
>"age verification needed please wait for employee"
>employee comes over and cards me and then leaves
>finish self checkout
>walk through literal piles of discarded receipts at exit door
another beautiful non hostile day in our great country
