I think I might have found another contender for my top favorite book of the year! This was amazing and I just didnāt want to put it down. I had a stupidly happy smile on my face the whole time I was reading. And I might have been giggling to myself as well, because the characters in this are just so sweet and anxious and relatable. Iām also pretty sure that this is the fastest Iāve devoured a 400+ page physical book in a while. I genuinely donāt know what Iām going to do with myself while I wait for my copies of book two and three to get here.
I loved that this book has its roots in fanfic! And yes, in some of the broader strokes of the story telling you can tell which fandom gave this story its basic structure. But I donāt think thatās a bad thing. In fact, I really loved that about this book, it felt like home even though these are completely new characters and a whole new story. Eli and Alex are both so sweet and anxious and I could read about them endlessly. I also absolutely adored the cast of side characters! I honestly canāt wait to dive into the next book. Like Real People Do is getting a solid five stars!

This is why I will never use Goodreads for recommendations. I wanted it to be old Netflix, but with books, but Netflix isn't even Netflix anymore and Goodreads is recommending me this:
Based on WHAT fucking reading preferences? You tell me, chapter and verse, what about the books I have read in the last year made you think I would want to read this.
My recent top rated books are Watership Down, The Goldfinch, The Night Watch, Drood, and Piranesi. PLEASE tell me how those are related to Love Requires Chocolate, I am desperate to know.
I really am struggling to remember when in Watership Down Fiver foresees some guy going HON HON HON BAGUETTE at a college girl. It must have been when he was foreseeing the destruction of the warren and it was just a new, exciting horror that got stuffed to the side.
I would not read this if it were gay, Goodreads. This could read, Whitney Curry is tutored by a grumpy soccer star who is THE HOTTEST BUTCH WOMAN YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR LIFE, an I would still go, 'I do not think this book is for me" On the worst day, I cannot see anyone who knows me even TANGENTIALLY recommending this book.
I am borderline insulted (okay we are pushing my love over the borderline) by the idea that this was-- actually let's go look at other recommendations
I????? Yo???? Who asks continually why every third book published in the US has to be YA fantasy?
The only good recommendation I got was Master and Commander, which I have in fact thought about reading before. Not even any shitty pulp horror? Of which I read PLENTY? I know this is less 'recommendations" and more "ads" but jesus fucking christ PRETEND BETTER.
#Young Adult contemporary romance is one of my circles of hell#man when netflix's algorithm was good I got the BEST fucking movie recs#stuff I NEVER would have watched#and so I took rating very seriously

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review
ā©š»šļøReview:
Reading this book is like receiving a bear hug that gives you all the warm, fuzzy feelings!
āUnbearably Yourā follows Charlee Fletcher and Oliver Reynolds after a twist of fate forces the former lovers to collaborate on a nature documentary and put their grudges and wounds aside. But will they survive two weeks together in the wilderness if their bond still lingers?Ā
This was such a delightful book to read! I was completely immersed in the small town of Pine Falls and fully invested in the lives of Colliardās compelling characters.Ā
What sets this book apart from others is that it is told from two perspectives and split between two timelinesāthe past and the presentāthat ultimately converge towards the end. Chapters taking place in the past are written as letters exchanged between Oliver and Charlee that document their development from strangers to friends to lovers over the span of a year leading up to June 21, 2018āthe day they ceased communication. As a fan of epistolary novels, I really enjoyed this touch and the seamless transition between the two timelines. The contents of each letter directly connects to something going on in the present in one way or another or another, making it easy to follow Colliardās storytelling. Only bits and pieces surrounding why their relationship went awry are revealed over time, which kept me engaged all the way through.Ā
I adored Oliver as soon as he graced the page! Heās so sensitive and kind and Colliard portrays his neurodivergence with care. The more time I spent with Charlee, the more I grew to love the woman beneath her tough exterior. Both characters grapple with grief, but find solace in each other even after five years apart. They have such great chemistry and this becomes only more obvious when circumstances beyond their control leave them no choice but to spend more time together the deeper they journey into the Great Bear Rainforest. I loved watching the sparks reignite between Charlee and Oliver as they worked through their pasts to get another shot at love!

Huge thank you to Mad Cave Studios and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was the CUTEST DANG THING. Oh my gosh, my heart. I loved everything about it.
I loved the way this book tackled so many heavy topics in such a heartfelt, earnest way. Neeshaās disability, both characters races and sexuality, biphobia, Gabbyās PTSD, all of it felt so thoughtful and planned out. Nothing felt tacked on for the sake of it or under-developed. This book made me so emotional.
I loved the story within a story and the way it really brought these two together. Their quest to find each volume was so much fun and getting the last volume genuinely made me tear up!
The romance is so soft and sweet and full of understanding. Neesha and Gabby have such great, open communication. They just really seem to get each other and are comfortable asking for what they need or offering something the other might need and it just made my heart feel so full.
Honestly, I canāt recommend this one enough.

The Sadenverse, reading order
Green: Written by Eden Finley Red: Written by Both Authors Yellow: Written by Saxon James
purple is not significant, it just means the arrows are layered so its just to separate them.
ā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«āā«
First off, the Sadenverse is a universe created across multiple series that Saxon James and Eden Finley have either written separately or co-written together. Thereās no one āright wayā to read these books, so you might come across minor spoilers depending on where you start. Personally, I didnāt read them in any particular order. I began with theĀ PuckboysĀ series, moved on to theĀ CU HockeyĀ series, and then jumped into theĀ Mike Bravo OpsĀ series without worrying too much about the reading order. Thatās when I realized what the Sadenverse really was.
While reading theĀ Mike Bravo OpsĀ series, I discovered two things: first, there is a suggested reading order that doesnāt follow the chronological publication dates, and second, there are over 25 books in this universe, with more on the way from both authors. People on TikTok and Reddit have been discussing the best order to read them in. I found a map that was both helpful and a bit confusingāif that makes sense. I recommend checking out āSteph Sometimes Readsā on TikTok for guidance on the reading order orĀ this mapĀ I found on figma. The authors also have a reading order on theirĀ website, though I havenāt been able to find it myself, but others have mentioned itās there.
Honestly, I donāt think the reading order is as crucial as some people make it out to be. If you want to dive into the entire universe, go for it! But if youāre a moody or picky reader, just read what you feel like and check the synopses and warnings for each book. I plan to read the whole universe, but Iāll drop a book if the characters start acting too stupidāIām not about to subject myself to that, I have things to do.

With humor and insight, #1 New York Times bestseller Becky Albertalli explores the nuances of sexuality, identity, and friendship. Imogen Scott may be hopelessly heterosexual, but sheās got the Worldās Greatest Ally title locked down. She's never missed a Pride Alliance meeting. She knows more about queer media discourse than her very queer little sister. She even has two queer best friends. There's Gretchen, a fellow high school senior, who helps keep Imogen's biases in check. And then there's Liliānewly out and newly thriving with a cool new squad of queer college friends. Imogen's thrilled for Lili. Any ally would be. And now that she's finally visiting Lili on campus, she's bringing her ally A game. Any support Lili needs, Imogen's all in. Even if that means bending the truth, just a little. Like when Lili drops a tiny queer bombshell: she's told all her college friends that Imogen and Lili used to date. And none of them know that Imogen is a raging heteroānot even Liliās best friend, Tessa. Of course, the more time Imogen spends with chaotic, freckle-faced Tessa, the more she starts to wonder if her truth was ever all that straight to begin with. . .
