Do you think this episode is so boring because they brought back the Nein and reminded us how good they are? I keep thinking about this as I'm absently watching this episode, saw your post and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Because like, at least to me, most villains this campaign are painfully boring. But the Weave Mind are also boring. That was fine, M9 handled it perfectly and I loved it. Ludinus is arguably the only kinda interesting bad guy and a PC's mom is in mortal danger and I can't manage to care.

I don't find Ludinus and the Weave Mind boring! I don't find Liliana boring either! And I found Ozo Cruth and Otohan Thull DREADFULLY boring but actually, the fights with them are pretty fucking great. I mean, I have a LOT of criticism about the first Otohan fight that boils down to "this was EXCEPTIONALLY poorly signaled and I'd be PISSED if my character was killed for someone else's arc at this point in the story" but Otohan being boring is about the non-combat elements; she felt very real and compelling as a THREAT, just, she could have been a giant blender of magic knives that the party was going to be dumped in for all she had an impact on the story as a person. But I do think it is because we've seen the Mighty Nein and Vox Machina recently and remembered that they're orders of magnitude more compelling.

I think it's really like...I don't even want to say Bells Hells isn't bonded, but they lack something. I think I alluded to it in the tags of one of my posts but there's no banter between party members or sense of urgency. Like, I enjoyed the whole All-Minds-Burn/Myceit scenes a lot, actually, but after Imogen's initial (justified) panic the pacing felt unbelievably slow until we got to combat. I have found that really, for a good deal of the campaign, you have to kind of take things episode by episode and enjoy the good set pieces and scenes because it simply does not make for a pleasing and rewarding whole. The reason I didn't care about Liliana is, to be fair, partly because I think having her die would be an interesting development, but also because there wasn't a sense of "we can't stop and fuck around with mushrooms, LILIANA IS DYING" within the episode itself. No one was comforting Imogen as they ran through the tunnels. The Mighty Nein showed more personality and investment in the lead up to a fight that really, they had no more stake in other than the broad world-ending ones. As someone who's been playing a LOT of Veilguard which is all about building a close-knit team, and who's had VM and the Nein the past month to compare Bells Hells with, that lack is immediately apparent.

I said, over a year ago (possibly over two, I don't recall) now about one of the relationships in the campaign that it felt like when I see a single episode from a soap opera I don't follow. The actors are imbuing lines with emotion, but everything feels kind of disconnected. Like, this is all in a deeply subjective realm, I cannot give you a strong argument based on logic here as it's very much vibes-based, but I feel like when I watched this, my thought process was "BAFTA-winning Actor Laura Bailey is doing an excellent job of conveying the emotions 'terror and anguish over a dying relative' in this line read, and not "Imogen Temult, a character I've been familiar with since October 2021, is devastated over the potential demise of her mother.' " And I never had that issue with C1 and C2. Like, you can call it je ne sais quoi or the juice or the sauce or chemistry or the spark or whatever the fuck but Campaign 3/Bells Hells simply doesn't seem to have it for a huge number of people who have adored pretty much every other Critical Role work, and that means something. My personal thought is that it's because this has been such a plot-focused campaign without strong DM prepping of what kind of characters would be appropriately invested that we've had the problems we did (rampant indecision, lack of party chemistry due to lack of early opportunities to mingle and meld, lack of investment in each others' lives due to insufficient time focused on backstory-related plotlines), but I could be wrong, and ultimately the root cause isn't super important to this question, which is just. they don't have the it factor.

Strahd is a bisexual king right out of the book, which is awesome.

Rahadin is asexual, but not in like, an ace kind of way. Like in a single-celled organism kind of way.

Ireena is aroace! A decision partly inspired by a certain pool of water (iykyk), and also because she’s a little bit my self-insert. A PC hit on her in like session four and was immediately told, “Do not ever speak to me that way again.” She’s iconic and I adore her.

IZMARK. IZ. GAY. And madly in love with the druid. Unfortunately Izmark does not know he is gay. He believes it is very normal to lovingly stare into your homie's eyes and look down at his lips and imagine what it would be like to kiss him. And it is very normal to comment on how attractive your homie is, cause that's just what bros do.

Vollenta is a beautiful lesbian who refuses to let the fact that she is married to Strahd change the fact that she is a lesbian and nobody will tell her or her pile of bodies otherwise.

Ludmilla is on the ace spectrum. I mean, come on. She's with the guy for power and grant money. She says she loves him, and they're definitely intimate, but she's the kind of girly to take notes before during and after, you know?

Escher. What even needs to be said about Escher. He's Ravenloft's resident twink and proud of it. He's a little lonely and can't stop thinking about the boy he was in love with when he was young, who is now old and grizzled from age, while Escher himself remains the same age he was when he betrayed his lover and chose Strahd instead, but like... he's also pretty and immortal, so who cares?

(Escher Bonus Content: Two moms! They loved him very much and were upsettingly supportive of his decision to become Strahd's newest consort)

Anastrasya: idk she's dead pre-campaign in mine so if you came here looking for commentary on her you will not get it.

Ezmerelda is a trans lesbian! She's gorgeous and I adore her. She's just so confident that she can kill Strahd on her own and I think she's right for that. I knew I wanted her to be a love interest for one of my PCs, and it just so happens that the player in question has a type.

Danika is also bi, and she's very happily married to her wonderful little husband. This hasn't come up in the campaign at all it's just something I know to be true in my heart.

The Abbot: Gender! Fluid! Call them whatever you want. He/him when you want to play on ideas of masculinity in religious circles, they/them when you want to make them seem undefinable, she/her when you want your PCs to reflect on how much mom trauma they all have :)

Sergei is straight but that man loves the queer community so much and he deserves an honorable mention.

Arrigal is gay and very pissed that the party keeps knocking on his wagon door at 3am. His ex-husband/current boyfriend has been coerced into co-parenting a child with the cleric.

Jungkook's In-Laws: an astrology analysis

-> So I thought of doing a quick post today, since an anon asked me about this last time? How to know about your in laws in astrology? Basically, in a chart of yours (like Natal Chart), the 4H is about your family. But the 9H is about your in laws. So in a NC you should look at your 9H, also in Boda PC to know what your in laws will think about the wedding. For a Briede/ Groom PC or Juno PC, you can check 4H, since it tells about the family of your FS, so your in laws lol. Let's check for JK.

Jungkook's Natal Chart

-> Virgo 9H: His parents in law may be practical, perfectionist, cold or just distant, a bit awkward. The kind of introvert people who just don't know how to make conversations much (mostly dads lol). It also gives them the vibe to be closed to people they don't know, they don't like to share with people they don't know or are not close to. So private people. They can be workaholic or just people who works hard and a lot. These people might value hardworking people and may hate lazy people. It could mean they also have high expectations about their daughter and her future in general. So probably judging the people she dates or are strict parents. Logical people too. So they might be harsh with JK at first, trying to see if he is "good enough" for her in a sense. But this is also the kind of parents in law ti take care of you about every details once you are close to them. They can be still welcoming and not too rigid with the virgo sign. This could ease the aspect. Also with libra, they could be understanding people, and fair too. -> Cancer 9H: It could def happen in their home country, as they seem to feel at home and safe where it happens. They just seem comfortable generally so it could totally be a wedding with their culture in their homeland. The mom could be important there, she could feel very proud of her daughter, or just feel very invested in the wedding.

-> Leo over the 9H: Both in laws feel proud of the wedding, they may feel they are important figures. They could be like "yes, THIS is my daughter". They may love the attention they are getting from the wedding. They could be having fun like a lot, just being the life of the party. Very happy, optimistic, and show off. They are not shy, they will not hesitate to show off lol.

-> Briede in the 9H: It's also in Leo so I wouldn't be surprised to see they mostly have eyes for their daughter than the whole wedding in general. To be honest, they may carte mostly about her, they only see her. They don't care much about JK, but I think it's because to them, he is not their son, but their son-in-law. So their daughter is more important. They may also love to see their daughter have so much attentions.

I've been playing FoA every free moment I have since it came out, it's soooo good. I simply adore your approach to relationships and skills!! Usually when I play an IF I'm always worried about picking the right dialogue options to train up my skills or get the relationships I want, but in FoA I can just. Choose what kind of character I want to be, and who I want to spend my time with. No time limits or negative consequences. Can't overstate how much I love that <33

That being said I do have a question! So far I've only completed a run where I was Hermes friend, a run where I romanced him, and a run where I was Pyri's friend (the option to pursue purely platonic relationships is also so so important to me), and I noticed in the chapter where you share magic with them to help Lethe both of them comment that MC's magic felt different than they were expecting. But that never gets elaborated on. Does it have something to do with the whole "you're sort of Persephone, sort of Dionysus" thing? Are they feeling an untapped part of MC's power? Or is it something else?

It's basically that, yes. They feel a potential in the PC that they hadn't expected. Which is fair of them, really, because very few Olympians have any trace of what might be 'proto-Chthonic' magic, if you like. :)

Jk jk, it’s just funny to see this ask when you have Klee from hit game Genshin Impact on pc, PlayStation, and mobile devices as your pfp.

Personally I actually really love the concept of characters with bombs that are hidden inside plush dolls, they’re always so fun and cute! Now as for a (y/n) with those dolls…

She is not gonna be using them as freely when the time comes.

At the start I think the Chain would actually be really chill with her primarily using bombs in combat, I mean as long as she can control where they go. In fact, they’d prefer her using bombs than using nothing at all since - and I mean this as politely as possible - if would not be good if they had member of the group basically be deadweight.

*side eyes canon (y/n) who is not a combatant in any capacity*

And in all fairness, I’m pretty sure everyone who’s played a Zelda game has accidentally blown themselves up with their own bombs at least one time. Realistically would that kind of injury be severe and heavily impact her relationship with the Chain? Of course, but since when have I stuck to realism?

(y/n) being a combatant from the get go would certainly impact the Chain’s view of her fighting later on when they start becoming obsessive, but I think they’d still go through a phase where they think (y/n) shouldn’t be using them at all when their concern for her safety reaches its peak.

I mean, if these guys can blow themselves up with their own bombs when those bombs are just a side item then what about when they’re someone’s main weapon? I heavily doubt this variant of the reader would be without some bandages from accidentally blowing herself up on occasion.

Those who become a little too paranoid for her safety, such as Four, Twilight, and probably Wild just from his own personal experiences accidentally setting off a remote bomb too close to himself or using a bomb arrow in the Eldin region, would argue that she’s safer without them than with them.

And while most of the others would be in agreement, the problem is…she’s had these bombs and this method of fighting since before she ever came to Hyrule. Who are they to say what she can and cannot do to defend herself with?

It’s a struggle between the overwhelming desire to keep her safe and the need to respect her as their superior, after all they are barely worthy to hold a candle to her.

So, a compromise is made.

They politely ask (y/n) if she can limit her bomb usage, perhaps using a bit of well meaning manipulation to say that their ears are more sensitive than hers and as such the sound of the bombs going off hurts their ears.

They don’t want to limit their darling, don’t want her to feel caged and like her wings are being clipped, but they also want her to be safe above all else.

And if there were ever a time when (y/n)’s style of combat proved to be more detrimental to her well-being than not then they wouldn’t hesitate to take those bombs away, even if she protests.

On a slightly happier note, the plushies themselves are something the Chain would coo over a lot!

Some might even try to give her inspiration for new ones to make, even if they aren’t bombs(they’d be happier if they weren’t bombs tbh). I’m sure Hyrule has a bunch of dolls that look like himself saved up and Wild’s got pictures of Riju’s sand seals, those would be adorable!

But yeah, a reader who utilizes bombs in combat would challenge the Chain’s dual desires to both respect (y/n) as their ultimate authority(not that she knows) and keep her safe. But as long as she properly uses them, then she’ll be fine.

This conversation makes the fact that I could hear Batstarion flapping away in the background the whole time I was talking to everyone else even funnier. The least subtle eavesdropper.

But I am glad that you can play the ascended Astarion romance epilogue as you being perfectly content with your choice. Given how preachy it gets after ascending him I was worried about that. But nope, it's all good! You're hard at work taking over the city together and everything is going great for you. If your character is miserable in their relationship with ascended Astarion that's because you chose for them to be miserable, which is a valid choice but definitely a choice that you've made rather than the only option. It's just as easy to play it as you two being horrible spouses together. Absolute bastards in what is almost certainly an unhealthily codependent relationship, but absolute bastards who adore each other. It's so fun.

Also, I'm not going to lie, it feels a bit like Astarion maaaaaybe isn't as in control of this relationship as he claims and the PC isn't as helpless as some of the writing paints them. I feel like if there were even just dialogue options when the other companions ask you to do something with them (teaching Gale's class, helping Lae'zel fight Vlaakith's forces and so on) where you could say something like "Well, I'll have to ask Astarion first..." that would change the energy of the epilogue a fair bit, but as it is at least with a willing PC it feels a bit like Astarion's standing there going on about how in control he is and how you will be his obedient consort for eternity and then you're just sitting there not really paying attention like "Whatever you say, dear. By the way, we're razing one of Vlaakith's strongholds with Lae'zel after this and guest lecturing Gale's class next month" and he is going to agree because that is how this relationship works.

Alan Becker, aka the creator, dad

actually a good stick dad, and cared for them as best he could, currently mia after the hollow heads watched him collapse and be taken away by people. the hollows are doing everything they can to find him.

Victim Becker, aka the firstborn, Vic, was an accidental creation

created rocket corp in an attempt to find the creator, runs it not to dissimilar to a mafia, ruthless with anyone perceived as being in the way, over protective of his brothers has mercs watching them near constantly so nothing can happen to them. considers his siblings an ace up his sleeve if the cards are down considering there powers are much stronger then his.

after a brief stent of destruction after alans disappearance and the pc shutting down now spends most of his time either training second or keeping the home feeling like home, the only sibling actually copeing instead of just trying to fix the problem, he and alan worked on his temper but after alans disappearance its almost as bad as when he was born.

I had started this awhile ago, but I thought I could share this short piece between Robin and my PC! o(〃＾▽＾〃)o

I just couldn't stop thinking about them when listening to "Fallen Star" by The Neighborhood (which is pretty accurate for how my PC sees Robin) so I wanted to write a small glimpse into their relationship!

Writing below the cut if anyone is interested

You shuffle across the floors of the orphanage, searching for something. Perhaps for someone. You're honestly not sure what you're doing or more importantly what you should be doing at that moment. All you can do is continue to wander aimlessly through the halls, one of your feet dragging against the rotten, worn-out panels beneath you.

It hurts.

But you have to ignore it.

After some time of mindless searching, you consider stopping. To instead go to a room you're supposed to call your own and crawl into a bed that held the hopes, dreams, and fears of the person, the children, that once laid there. You desperately need the sleep after all. But something holds you back, so you wait.

You wait until you hear a sweet, familar voice call out to you. You turn to the source, it's Robin. Her cheery expression quickly shifts to one of concern as she makes her way over to you. You don't understand why.

"What happened?? Are you okay?"

One of her hands grazes your cheek and you wince. Right, you understand now. You had an.....altercation. Things got too out of hand; And now you're a mess. More of a mess than usual that is.

Robin frantically looks you over, her brow furrowing as she looks over your injuries. "There's so much blood I- We need to take you to the hospital w-"

You cut her off, grasping the hands inspecting you, " It's fine, I mean its not all mine"

"That doesn't make it better! Look at your nose, your foot! We need to-"

"Robin. I'll live. I don't need a hospital, I need y- I want-" you take a moment to compose yourself, releasing your grip on her "I'll be fine, okay? I can just patch myself up."

Robin stares at you for a moment, an unreadable expression spreading across her face. Before you can utter another word she wraps your arm around her shoulder and drags you along with her.

"So can I."

You hate her.

No, not her. You couldn't possibly bring yourself to hate her.

Not when she cleans the dried blood off your face, her eyes lingering on your lips as she uses her thumbs to wipe off the extra moisture left on them from the wet cloth. Or when she carefully wraps up your ankle, being as gentle as she was when she bandaged your other injuries.

You don't hate her.

You hate these feelings for her. Feelings that you know you can't call your own.

Feelings you're glad she doesn't return.

"Done!" Robin chirped, puffing out her chest slightly as she admires her work.

"Thank you, Robin.......but this wasn't necessary. I could have done it myself-"

She cuts you off, turning her gaze to your own, "I know but I wanted to! you took care of me when I needed you most! So it's only fair that I return the favor! "

You know it's a lie, you were not there when she needed you most. You were just there to clean up the broken shards of a vase that you failed to catch. Not much of surprise from someone like you.

But you don't argue with her, instead turning your gaze away from her. It hurts to stare at the edges of the pieces of glass that you couldn't perfectly put back together. She'll never be exactly how she once was. And neither will you.

Your thoughts are interrupted by Robin's hand grasping your own. "I just want to be useful to you too. You shouldn't be the one who has to deal with everything on your own."

You glance at her. "And honestly I like taking care of you. It's just like old times, remember?" She adds with that smile on her face that you adore oh so much.

All you can bring yourself to do is hum in agreement, unable to tell her the truth, as you feel your eyelids droop.

Robin takes note, packing up the first aid kit she brought before slipping out of the bed.

"I'll let you get some rest," Robin whispers, bringing you into a hug "Goodnight."

When she pulls away you subconsciously reach out to her. She looks at you expectedly.

You open your mouth, a question on the cusp of your lips.

But you quickly bite down, refusing to let it spill.

".... Goodnight, Robin."

She smiles, giving you a kiss on your bruised cheek. You watch her figure exit the doorway, closing it behind her.

Leaving you all by yourself in "your" room.

Alone.

Just like the beginning of your story.

[Review] The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins (3DS)

A cromulent companion game.

Platinum's console/PC Korra game was accompanied by a 3DS release. Well I say accompanied; unlike that game, Activision only bothered to release this one in North America. Now I finally have a chance to play it thanks to custom firmware! I know developer Webfoot Technologies best for their Legacy of Goku GBA games, and now here they are with another handheld game based on an animated licence. But how does this tactics RPG stack up against its action sibling?

Despite the new subtitle, this game is built on the same story as the console game. Creepy old guy blocks Korra's bending, the alliance of Triads/Equalists/dark spirits, returning to the Spirit World via the South Pole. But this version has some additional details, like the inclusion of Amon's lieutenant as a miniboss, Korra seeking the advice of spirits in Republic City's spirit wilds only for them to turn dark and attack, or visiting Wan Shi Tong's library for help relearning spiritbending (complete with a boss fight against the big owl himself!) I also enjoyed entering the cosmic universal energy dimension for little puzzle challenges when Korra was regaining her bending powers. In addition to these additions, a big change in how things play out is the extended cast joining her on the adventure, an upside to the shift in genre.

From the start, Bolin and Mako are with Korra, then Tenzin and Kya join in, and finally Lin making for a team of six bending powerhouses. Bumi and, sadly, Asami are still conspicuously absent. But the extra tag-alongs make for actual conversation and more convincing bridging exposition in cutscenes, more appropriate elemental tutelage as Korra relearns her bending styles, and some choice quips. For example, we learn that Bolin named his fists Juji and Roh-tan after Nuktuk's animal sidekicks, and that he has become genre-savvy as a result of his mover career: "when there is fog, something bad happens."

There are understandable presentational drawbacks that offset this. Gone are the full animated sequences, replaced by brief motion comic-style cutscenes. There’s no voice acting either, which is fair enough. And gameplay just cannot look as flashy when you’re just moving sprites around a grid.

To be fair, the sprites look very good. And you get an adorable graphic of Korra riding Oogi on the menu screen. When it comes time to make an attack, the game cuts to a short (and skippable) 3D sequence showing the results, complete with decent little models doing mocapped martial arts moves. The spirits and the main antagonist Hundun can look a bit goofy in these but the mecha tanks are pretty cool if low-detail. The latter in particular have hilariously tiny sprites on the battle map, a stark contrast to their humongous chungus depiction in Platinum’s game.

The tactical gameplay is competent for the most part with decent map designs. The controls and interface can be a bit clunky but they get the job done. There’s a shield mechanic that’s a neat twist, as well as an elemental weakness system that lets you bypass the shields. I liked how each character had their own niche: Mako has many ranged attacks, Lin and Bolin get area effects, Kya can heal, and Tenzin can replenish mana energy points which I had him doing almost every turn once he learned it.

Any attack or even healing and support moves get you experience points which is nice, and every other level-up you get to choose between two skills. These can be new moves or passive bonuses but choose carefully because you can’t change them later! I found myself with a Korra who only knew waterbending for the vast majority of proceedings, and you only get one shot at each other element. Everybody was max level (15) a few stages before the end, but if you’re having trouble with a battle there’s a training stage you can do freely for some extra XP and money (used for buying healing items). You can’t replay completed levels though, even though you get graded on side objectives.

I was pleased by this little tie-in. I’m not a huge expert on tactics RPGs but this one seems good for intermediate gamers like me, not too punishing. There’s some amount of crunchy depth to the elemental system and using each character effectively. And as a Korra fan it’s nice seeing the characters and world rendered in a different style, especially those cute sprites. Not to mention the slight expansions to the storyline. If you’ve got a 3DS, there’s no reason not to head to your local flea market hShop to pick this up!

Originally I followed you when I saw your Ireena and Blythe art. It amazed me how much both of them and Ireena in particular got fleshed out!

In my dnd game and tbh in many other games, players don't get invested in Ireena's journey, they don't fall for her and don't care for her sadly. That's why many DM's usually replace her with a player character, in order to raise the stakes. In half a year I will be running a new cos game, for the group of three and I am honestly considering to replace Ireena with the PC, but don't really want to (especially fearing how the game might go, if the player will turn into strahd-simp).

Could you please describe Ireena's character in your game? Perhaps her bonds and flaws? So other DM's and I can do a better job of her portrayal!

So rather than referencing my game, as I am not the DM, I will provide my own suggestions as I was planning on running CoS as well. Spoilers for the campaign

I will also suggest against a Tatyana PC. Everyone is very much free to write and interpret the character however they want but to me it is very important that the Tatyana reincarnation does not want Strahd. In fact I would remove the interaction with Sergei too. Having her instantly forget herself as this new person in favour of Tatyana erases the entire point and kind of proves Strahd right in him refusing to see Ireena as her own person.

The way I would approach Ireena; she is her own person. She grew up with her family that wasn't Tatyana's. She lived a life that wasn't Tatyana's. She's met different people. It doesn't MATTER if she's a reincarnation of someone else, after all everyone in Barovia is a reincarnation of someone else. It's very important to establish that the main crux of the issue is that Strahd does NOT see her as Ireena, but Tatyana. He does not know Ireena. He only knows Tatyana. I would even have him call her that rather than "Ireena".

Ireena's story would be one of becoming independent and confident in her identity. To no longer be just Ismark's sister, Burgomaster's daughter, Tatyana's reaction, Evil's bride --- she is Ireena Kolyana. Nothing more, nothing less. I would start her off as unsure of herself, and being hesitant to take up space and over the course of the story become more confident in standing up for herself, with an eventual climax of expressing extremely clearly to Strahd that she is not Tatyana. She never was. He doesn't know her. That that person is gone, and she will never be back. He can chain her, do whatever but that will never make her Tatyana nor will it make her love him or know him. She is a woman who is constantly assigned identities by other's, but she want's to just be Ireena, she wants to do her hobbies, decide on where she wants to go, what books to read, what food to eat.

The relationship between Strahd and Tatyana is irrelevant. It could have been real, or a figment of his imagination, but the point is that...she is gone. If he had a soul of someone else, would it be fair for them to lay claim to him?

As for personality wise ; I would write her as sheepish at first, she is someone taking their first steps into adulthood in a way, outside the comfort of their home, their village. She should be curious and wonderstruck, curious and wishing to explore every nook and cranny. Because of that she would be unfortunately naïve to the problems that arise in bigger cities as Vallaki. A village and a town are very different - a big thing she's be stupefied by how impersonal everyone is. Rural villages often have people knowing everyone, it's commonplace to help your neighbor because you KNOW them. Vallaki is different...people go about their day and do not care, after all there is so many people. You physically can't know everyone.

She is down to earth and finds camaraderie with someone simpler than a noble, providing practical suggestions and being very handy with most tools and identifying local flora. On a flipside, I would say she struggles when dealing in very formal settings where it's less about honesty and more about saying a lie by omission to get what you want. When interacting with Vargas or Lady Wachter, she's visibly uncomfortable and stumbles over her words; they speak in such a way to purposely confuse her, like a lawyer would. Not only that but she most likely would refuse to do anything morally questionable, her heart is very pure!

So in all, a kind hearted, down to earth little lady who values honesty, hard work, and family but is naïve, stubborn and socially awkward. She will support and protect the party, even to her detriment but she will not stand with them to commit Crimes (so RIP if your party is murder hobos)

Summary: Richie liked to play video games, and by some stroke of luck, it became his job. Being primarily known as Trashmouth on stream, he found his own little group of streamer friends and they became intertwined: The Losers Club. It never did feel quite complete, though. Well, until, he got his very own backseat gamer in chat.

TWs: innuendos, mention of pet death (briefly in chat), cursing, child neglect, and shameless flirting.

Richie Tozier was not lucky.

He grew up in the middle of nowhere in a shitty small town that was perpetually stuck in the 80s. And he was gay. So, that, in itself, spoke a lot about his shitty luck.

On top of that, Richie's parents, Maggie and Wentworth Tozier, really didn't give a shit about what he did. Ever. (He remembers telling them about being an official Twitch partner, and he got the equivalent of a 'yeah, yeah, whatever you say' text.) So, he was kinda alone. Since he was like 5 years old.

To be fair, Richie wasn't really the easiest person to be around. His therapist would probably say: "Because you never received much attention at home, you became a physical representation of 'LOOK AT ME'." And he was usually right, so there was some merit to that.

The thing was, Richie always knew he was destined for the public eye (maybe because he felt so insignificant), he wanted to make a difference. Do something so that people would see him, for once-

Streaming wasn't initially anything special, not really. Richie was just bored, which was honestly how most things he did started, and decided to make an account. Cruising over the app for awhile, he doesn't know exactly what made him do it, but he just decided to go in balls deep.

He bought a webcam, a mic, a better gaming chair, and a way fucking better PC. One good thing about his parents, they were rich. (Not the megamansion kind but definitely the healthy retirement kind). And he doesn't know if they felt guilt about how they raised him, but they were pretty lenient with 'allowances'. If you could even call them that.

And then, one day, he just pressed that fancy button.

And the rest is history.

Richie's life was kind of built around streaming at this point. He didn't really have an internal clock, so he'd wake up to stream in the mornings if he was responsible, and if he wasn't he'd do them when he was bored at 3 am. (His subs had taken to calling those streams "Richy hours" like the witch thing. Richie just rolled with it.) In the beginning, his chat and subscribers felt a little like his friends.

With college far out of his mind, he focused solely on content creation. Which, at this point was mainly streaming (not that he hasn't tried other things, there is an old YouTube channel his chat will never let down). That being said, he focused on that a lot -maybe too much, by some of his friend's standards.

That's where he was now, tapping out a rhythm on his desk as he readied up everything for the stream. This one was an actual scheduled one, which was a win for Richie's responsibility. Skimming over his monitors, he made sure to put some cursed picture on the greenscreen behind him (and made sure his shirt didn't have green on it). Making sure all his little special things were in order, like the subscriber notifications and little visuals. (They were all his own renditions, handmade. Meaning they were disfigured stick figures that chat now adored.)

And with that, Richie hit the button.

He waited a moment for people to flood in, always did -humming along with some song he had stuck in his head for the 400th time.

"Hey, all you motherfuckers," he chimed (yes, that is what he called his fans), "-how are we doing today?"

Richie skimmed over the chat through his glasses, trying to catch a few of them.

"My cat died," he read, shifting a hand through his hair (it was probably too long now, but he didn’t care), "-Fuck, dude, you're ruining the vibes. But, seriously, rest in peace."

He saluted, like Richie would do.

Skimming through chat again, he caught on another.

"Where did you get your name? Funny story actually," he began, "-it's what bullies used to call me in middle school."

The name being 'trashmouth.tozier', that is.

"No, chat, I'm not trauma dumping-"

His eyes caught on a checkmark, stan.the.man, Richie grinned big. 'What the hell are you doing up this early?'

"Staniel! Good to see you today," he clapped his hands, fidgeting with something else (he physically could not stop moving), "-And I am streaming, fucking duh."

He saw the chat waft through with a few 'STANLEY!!!'s, and maybe grinned a little brighter. Stanley was one of the Losers Club members, or this group of streamers who played together. It was Stanley, Bev, Ben, Mike, Bill, and well... Richie.

Stanley did a lot of calm games, the kinds like Stardew Valley where there's only a little combat. And even then, he just mostly did those like cheap puzzle games where you digitally built a puzzle. How he had an audience, Richie doesn't know. Sometimes he wonders how Stan even befriended him, so he was a little clueless in general.

Bev did a lot of things on stream honestly. Her biggest stuff was sewing, making outfits, and trying them on. Her chat would tell her what to fix or give her ideas on what to do next; it was pretty fun and unique. Richie popped in a few times and gave his two cents; Beverly usually just flipped him off wordlessly, but still. She did game though, obviously.

Ben came actually as one of her subscribers (unsurprisingly, Richie would find out). Bev dug into him once, watched a stream, and recruited him. He was actually the newest of the crew (it went Stanley, Richie, Bill, Mike, Bev, and Ben), and did a sort of mix of streams. He did book reviews and would take chat's suggestions on what to read next, for one. Sometimes, they'd all submit poems for him to read (Richie would send one in and Ben wouldn't even read it out loud, he was too soft for that). If not anything book-related (snore), Ben did mystery games. Like half those ones where you find things on certain screens, and half like story-driven ones. Otherwise, his channel was pretty quiet, closer to Stanley's in vibes.

Mike was the epitome of calm. EPITOME. Mostly, he did story games, the kind where characters die (Richie had seen him cry on camera at least twice), and your choices impact everything else. He did dabble in horror games though, a little because it was funny to watch scary stuff happen and Mike be completely centered with himself. And if his chat felt like it, they'd play like a cozy game. It was just the right vibes for Mike as a person.

Bill was a fun one, he fully played horror games (mostly). And yeah, he got scared, just like any normal person would, but then he'd beat the shit out of the game. Richie has watched him clear full games in 2 hours, whole games. God made him fucking determined, and Bill took that to the max. Richie was good at certain games in particular, but Bill? He could easily figure out a game in minutes and do pretty fucking good in it in, tops, an hour. He was the kind of streamer who sometimes did speedruns. It was pretty impressive, Richie will admit.

Now, Richie?

Trashmouth Tozier was total utter chaos, his chat usually reeled him in, which was kind of the opposite of what Twitch was. But it's how it worked.

Any game was, well, fair game. An obscure NES title that is shitty because of how hard it is? Done. Barbie Horse Adventures? Let's do it. A dating game about pigeons? Yeah, been there, done that. (He dated every single pigeon, every single one, and unlocked all the story available.) Story game where you can control your path? He was going villain every time, but yeah. If he wasn't doing chat's recommendations, he was showing off in some arcade-style game or maybe an RPG. Not to brag, but he was pretty fucking good at them; the Losers Club hated that, mostly because it blew up his ego.

"What are we doing today?" Richie read out, and then grinned big and wide, "-Well, well, chat. We're tackling something you guys have begged for, almost as much as your mom was last ni-"

Beep! Beep! A clown horn echoed through the air.

The little visual of a clown (with an obnoxiously big red nose) popped up, along with a name and message.

Right, Richie had a physical button people could use to shut him up. Every time someone donated, they could choose to 'beep' him. His friends had picked up on saying it to him verbally: "Beep, beep, Richie."

"C'mon, Mikey," he groaned, eyes dipping over the chat (which was still flooded with horn emojis and 'beep, beep' in all caps), "-that one wasn't even that bad-"

stan.the.man: thanks mike

"Guys," he whined, throwing his head back,"-stop ganging up on me. Chat, defend me."

The chat blew up (mostly those like huffing out air emojis and soldier salutes), and Richie thought he saw a request for a Barbie game (again), and he ignored it.

big.bill: are you going to tell us the game or not, rich?

"Billy, you always have to ruin the fun, don't you?" Richie pursed his lips with no bite. He never really had any bite, "-But okay, fine. Let's fucking do this-"

With a grin, he unmuted the audio that was playing from the game's main screen, which chat couldn't see yet.

"Dream Daddy~"

reddy.bevvy: FINALLYYY, our prayers have been answered

"Bevvy, baby!" Richie called out, smiling again, before asking, "-What the fuck are you all doing? Shouldn't you be streaming? Or am I the only one who has my shit together today? For once?"

Before anyone could answer, another notification flew across his screen.

"Benny," he called out with a grin, before pausing, "-Wait, when the fuck did your stream start? It's like nine in the morning-"

Richie paused a moment, waiting for the chat to answer his question, Which it did.

"6?!" he spoke in disbelief, eyes wide through the lens of his glasses, "-What the fuck, Ben? What are you doing-"

They went back and forth a few times, Richie rambling about a few different things. Today, it was a little about how he went to get a coffee and the barista put expired milk into it. He really couldn't make this shit up. After that though, he decided to focus in on the game.

Shifting the screen to gameplay with his little camera in the corner, Richie skimmed through the chat again.

"Isn't this game gay?" he read out aloud, "-Yes, it is, and so am I, while we're talking about it."

The chat flooded with rainbow flags and hearts, something in Richie's heart twinkled. He really had a good community, somehow. He had no fucking clue how, actually-

"Wait," Richie gasped, looking at the game, "-I can make my fucking character?! My gay dad? Chat-"

stan.the.man: we're going to be here forever guys, thanks

"Stan," he held his hands over his heart, dramatically, "-you wound me. I thought we were friends. It's always the closest ones who hurt you the worst-"

stan.the.man donated $1: shut the fuck up richard

"Awe," Richie switched his tone, "-Stanley, thanks for the donation. Time for more important matters though-"

He leveled a serious gaze into the camera.

"What do we think, chat? Twink or bear?"

His mods were pretty quick to set up a poll, and actually, it was a twink sweep. And to be fair, Richie did love him a twink. So, he wasn't super surprised. By the time he got to the clothes, chat was slower, calmer, and maybe that's why he saw the message. Or maybe it was fate, Richie could believe it.

eddie.kaspbrak: just don't give him a shitty shirt like yours

eddie.kaspbrak: i can't handle both of them on my screen at the same time

Richie stopped what he was doing, pulling on his shirt at the shoulders (it was white with flamingos wearing fedoras), "What, Eddie Spaghetti? You don't like it?"

He had a tendency to talk to chat like he knew them personally (which he decidedly did not know this person). It was part of the appeal of his streams. Or he thinks so anyway.

eddie.kaspbrak: what the fuck did you just call me?

"Eddie Spaghetti," he repeated, plainly, but with a little bit of a shit-eating grin.

eddie.kaspbrak: that's the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard and I watch your streams so that's saying something

Richie laughed out loud and pinned the comment himself (it stayed there until the stream ended), "Eds gets off on a good one! Chat, let's applaud-"

Chat was filled with clapping emojis, and that was that.

The next time Richie heard from Eddie was about a day later (he had a break day between streams), where he was picking up Dream Daddy again. In the end, he didn't seem to get past meeting every Dad, so he had quite the way to go.

A little after he started the stream, maybe even minutes, he caught Eddie in chat.

eddie.kaspbrak: dream daddy again?

"Eddie!" he exclaimed with a grin, "-Yes, we are romancing the Dads, yet again."

eddie.kaspbrak: you didn't even get to that last time

eddie.kaspbrak: you were spending too much time picking out shitty facial hair

Richie laughed a little, watching as more chats filled the space and he maybe felt a little disappointed that Eddie was washed away in it. Which was fucking weird, but that was just between Richie and himself, so who cares.

"Hey, motherfuckers," he chimed, raising his hands -routinely, "-how are we doing today?"

They got into the game pretty early this time, and Richie took it upon himself to voice every character differently -flawlessly he will add.

"Wait," he spoke, suddenly, "-we can fuck Robert?"

Richie stared at the screen a second, before flashing over to chat, "Guys, should we fuck Robert?"

Clown horn.

"Thank you, Zee," he chimed, instinctively, before taking on a more heroic (dramatic really) voice, "-For you, I shall fuck Robert!"

They were finally at the portion where you could pick dates, and Richie was exaggeratively rubbing his chin. Eyes darting over the list, they hovered over a few of them.

"This is the café guy, right?" Richie questioned, reading out the name -mouse ontop of him, "-Mat? The one we chose the pun for?"

The chat told him yes.

"Okay," he acknowledged, biting at his lip, "-Chat, I think I want to be a monsterfucker."

reddy.bevvy: you could also be a homewrecker

"Bev," he clicked his tongue, eyes moving over to Joseph (the married Dad), "-you do have a point."

benny.boy: neither of them is your type though, rich

"Ben, Benny, my beloved," Richie responded, "-It's about the fantasy of it. It's fucking boring if I do that."

Before he could say much else, a horn interrupted it.

eddie.kaspbrak donated $1: what is your type?

Richie grinned, big and bright, batting his eyelashes, "Eds, my oh my, are you flirting with lil' ole me?"

He got a few more clown honks for that, and yeah, he expected it. Respected it, even.

"If you're not a dude though," he added, "-sorry, it won't work out. I'm into strictly dicks. If I wasn't, I'd be married to Bev."

There was a pause.

Eddie decidedly didn't say anything else. Not that Richie was waiting or anything. Because he wasn't.

"Well," he cleared his throat, strictly not disappointed, "-mods, let's run a poll. Monsterfucker or homewrecker, chat?"
