An interesting Nikkan Sports article has been floating around so I thought I'd share it with you. Please take everything with a grain of salt. I wouldn't consider Nikkan Sports a particularly gossip-y newspaper but none of this makes any sense. [Note: The initial Kalafina disbandment article was released in Sponichi I think] And there hasn't been a single official announcement so my best guess is that all of this is fake news. I'd assume it's a direct response to the most recent Kalafina hype after the Fate/stay night "ring your bell" performance. But hey, a girl can dream. Kalafina Reuinion After Disbandment in 2019

The trio with a unique harmony is determined to reunite in response to fans' wishes [October 3, 2024, 5:00 AM]

Kalafina is making a comeback. It was announced on October 2nd [Note: I am aware of no such announcement!] that the three-member vocal unit Kalafina, which disbanded in March 2019, will make a comeback. While Keiko (38), Hikaru (37), and Wakana (39) continue their solo activities, they have reunited in response to the voices of fans who have been waiting for their comeback. A special "Kalafina Anniversary LIVE 2025" will be held at Tokyo Garden Theater on January 25th (Sat) (15th)next year. Satoshi Takebe (67) will serve as the music director. Kalafina, who shone uniquely in the Japanese music scene with their gorgeous beauty and magnificent harmony, are back. The three members revealed that they decided to make a comeback, encouraged by the fans' feelings, saying, "We have received the feelings of everyone who cares for Kalafina even while doing solo activities, and have decided to sing together again as a trio." [Note: Again, no idea what the source for this could possibly be] Kalafina have been on a hiatus since February 2018, with Keiko leaving the agency in April and Hikaru leaving in October of the same year. Incase anyone wanted a complete newbies opinion on the one piece liveaction adaptation.

Before we start, here is what I knew vaguely before going on, never having watched a single episode of the anime

Now i Adore great world building so was always interested in watching the anime but...paying for cruncyroll premium and the sheer length of the show has kept me away. But with the word of mouth about this live action show being very positive I thought why not use this as a starting point. So without further ado here is what I thought.

It was wonderful, I was either smiling like an idiot or tearing up through all of it, I was hear for the worldbuilding and it gave me plenty in that regard but I wasn't realy expecting to fall for like...pretty much every single charater, the strawhats are all delightful and have such a amazing found family vibe and I am SO weak to that trope, koby and his marine subplot grew on me and so much good well choreographed action and some actual laugh outloud moments (buggy was a scene stealing highlight). Everyone said sanji's backstory was a tear jerker and that's 100% correct but nami's third act betrayal realy caught me of guard but love how it was handled. Luffy lives up to his shonen protagonist roots by just being an inspiring becon of positivity who I wish the absolute best for, the show would have fallen apart of we didn't care for luffy and luckly they nailed it. I would say zoro is my favourite of the crew though he had such a dry sarcastic sense of humor that i vibed with. The world was absolutely fascinating with how everything revolves around the sea, and the technology isn't advanced at all like they use snails as phones i loved that, it was so weird! And the way they used pratical effects when they could was great to see gave the world a real and lived in feel. and I realy get the sense there's so much magical stuff still to see! And the music!!! Omg the music! It added so much to so many great moments. Just have to hope netflix sticks with it but with their track record I'm.....not optimistic. But in summary what a charming start to an adventure!

Well, alright, since you asked so nicely! Here's a step by step process of how I make art.

(I understand you might not have actually meant it, but I wanted to anyway. Plus, people could use this to help with their own art! Also, thank you! I appreciate that!)

Before I get into the actual art: I use Ibis Paint X on my phone. I don't have premium, so this'll be easy for literally anyone with ibis since I won't be usin any premium features. I DO however watch an ad to use the brushes I prefer. I'll give the code to the main one if yall want. I don't usually use a set brush size, but I prefer usin it at 7.0 on a 999×1145 sized canvas.

NOW without further ado, here's the tutorial(?)

I start out by blockin out the shapes I wanna use. I start with a large brush and just loosely scribble an idea. Then I put the opacity to 50% and make a new layer over that one with my smaller lineart brush and sketch out the body of the character I'm drawin. I'm drawin my sona since it's easy.

Next: I draw the clothes over top of the body and the rest of the head. Layers are my best friends when I'm drawin. I use multiple layers all the time. Keep in mind gravitational pull, folds, and wrinkles in the clothes. Think of how loose or tight the clothes are on the body, all that. Also, keep in mind perspective.

Then: put your color layer underneath the lineart and fill it in. Here's the base flat color with lineart for later reference.

Next up: Shadin and lightin. I use a dark purple most of the time for my shadin and a light yellow for lightin, but if I have an idea for a different colored effect, I'll use a dark shade of that color to help the character fit into the environment. I start with soft shadin and lightin first. In the first image, below is the soft layer. I used an airbrush for and put the blendin mode on soft light. Then I go in for another round of the same thing. But with a thicker version of my lineart brush. I usually keep that at 20.0. And I do the same thing, but as hard shadin. I put that layer on overlay to help give some more color to the art. Make sure both layers are clipped onto the color layer, btw.

There's a few more minor details than that, but this covers most of my process. If there are any questions, feel free to ask!

Shamagi's Wrestling Corner - Bash In Berlin

//Hi! This will be the first in a series where I review real world pro wrestling events in character as my Warrior of Light, as if the events also happened in Eorzea. I will be rating matches on a 5-star rating system, and I promise not to break it like Dave Meltzer did with silly 6 and 7 star ratings.

(Everything beyond this point is in character and in universe, with any out of character clarifications in square parentheses)

Today, WWE held their first ever Premium Live Event in The Black Shroud [read: Germany] with Bash In Gridania [read: Berlin]. This event promised to be a big one, with hometown boy Gunther slated to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against the legendary Randy Orton in the main event. Also on the card was a battle between friends as Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens, with the biggest narrative being whether they could keep their friendship intact or if the battle for the gold would tear them apart. We also had CM Punk continuing his blood feud with Drew McIntyre in a strap match, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill looking to regain their Women's Tag Team Championships from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, and Rhea Ripley looking to get revenge of her own against Liv Morgan and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio alongside her new tag partner Damian Priest.

Without further ado, here's my ratings:

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match: Cody Rhodes (c) defeats Kevin Owens by pinfall (***3/4)

This wasn't the best match these two were capable of putting on. It had good in ring psychology and the crowd was absolutely electric, but it had a somewhat slow pace and some rather baffling character moments. Come on, KO, I know he's your friend, but when your opponent shows a weakness, you pounce on it! It's a lesson I learned very early in my own fighting career (though I mainly do shootfighting anyway, but even in my worked matches I always go for the injured body part- and I'm a babyface!). Tainted or not, victory was right there, KO, and you blew it. Anyway, it was still a really good match and the perfect opener to a solid show. While they were able to show respect to each other afterwards I'm fully expecting a heel turn from KO soon.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeat The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) (c) - TITLE CHANGE! (***)

Jade didn't get too much in ring time. It feels like WWE are still trying to protect her because she's still kinda green. That said, she looked good in the little time she did get, and kayfabe wise it was tactically sound from The Unholy Union to try and stay away from that absolute unit of a woman who could bulldoze both of them at once without even trying by isolating Bianca as much as possible. Speaking of which, Bianca continues to impress and she absolutely carried this match. She'll always be one of my favourite wrestlers, not to mention she's part of long braid gang. I just wish she could use the hair whip again, especially after both Alba and Isla pulled her by the braid. I would have done that immediately.

Strap match: CM Punk defeats Drew McIntyre (***1/4)

The Four Corners strap match stipulation continues to be silly to me. It's not as bad as being able to win a steel cage match by leaving the cage, but it's still a pretty goofy way to win a wrestling match. That said, it was another solid- if not spectacular- match that should be the culmination of this long running feud. Also, CM Punk really needs a new friendship bracelet. Come on, Phil, that shit was in Drew's trunks. It's probably rancid now.

Mixed Tag Team match: The Terror Twins (Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest) defeat The Judgment Day ("Dirty" Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan) (***1/2)

Ugh, men. Can't live with them, can't live without 'em. My personal feelings aside, though, I was thoroughly entertained by this match and was relieved that the Terror Twins won. Rhea gets some much needed revenge of her own against Liv and Dom, not to mention Damian Priest getting payback against the Judgment Day. Also, please pin me, Mami... wait, Yugiri, why are you looking at me like that?

World Heavyweight Championship match: Gunther (c) defeats Randy Orton (****1/4)

I'll be honest: Gunther could wrestle a broomstick and it would be a 3 star match. He's that good of a worker on his own. So when you put him in a match with the legendary Randy Orton? That's a guaranteed banger right there. They did somewhat underdeliver, however, as the match was rather slow paced, but it still had plenty of excitement, especially when Randy hits the RKO only for Gunther to kick out at 2. I also like that Gunther doesn't have a dedicated finishing move. It keeps you on your toes as you watch his matches as they could end at any moment, and that feeling was absolutely there the whole match. The crowd was also still absolutely electric throughout this match and they really showed up to make their hometown boy proud.

Overall rating: ***3/4

Not an amazing PLE by any means but pretty solid and pretty entertaining overall. No matches were spectacular but no matches were complete duds, either. Plus the crowd was easily one of the best in recent memory. I can't wait to see more of these Eorzean PLEs from WWE.

Fall & Winter Updates

I would like to offer a warm welcome to the new followers! I haven't been around much this year, so I haven't had the chance to thank you for the support but between the response following the releases and my follower count doubling overnight last spring, I'm super stoked and excited to be sharing this space with you. So I wanted to stop by for a minute and offer you a little insight into what I'm currently doing and what that means for this blog—like I've said before this is something I do whenever I find the time, whenever work and responsibilities allow me to, so I never in a million years would've imagined I would get so attached to this blog (same way I never imagined you guys would like my work so much.) So thank you and, without further ado, these are the updates for the rest of the year.

All Hallows Eve

There's a surprise coming your way this Halloween! I'm currently working and taking care of several things so I haven't had the opportunity to sit down and give it the last little touches. I'm working on it this week after mentioning it in passing the other day. I'm hoping you guys will like it once it drops.

The Primrose Garden

As I'm currently working on The Primrose Garden, I'm studying the potential elements I would like to add and the number of pages that will work for the package. While I had initially planned to make this an edited and improved version of The Garden, which was released earlier this year, I've decided to rebuild the theme with the same general dimensions. The Garden was originally designed to be a simple theme with embedded pages. Following the release of Moonflower, however, I realized embedded pages are doable but not as flexible as separate pages can be, so I'm making this package a cleaner and more complete version of its predecessor.

The Asters

My lovely child probably thinks I've forgotten about it. I've moved the release of this package a bunch of times and made a Frankenstein out of it but I promise you guys I'm so excited to finally get to work on it. This theme will be very different from what I initially planned. I plan to make it a singular theme with graphics included, rather than a package with pages, as I would like to release it around the holidays and I'll be working with a different style in terms of coding and layout.

Trust me when I tell you I have some really nightmarish stories from working with customers, especially when I was younger because people felt comfortable being disrespectful because they knew I had no experience. This is why customers on this platform have a special place in my heart, and I try to do what's in my power to make them happy.

so i know that what’s hard with many people dieting, trying to lose weight, or even doing one meal a day, is what to do when you wanna get fast food!!! so literally at 4am lol i used to help of the app cheat day to create differently but all healthy proportioned meals.

according to myfitnesspal (an app i live by), a well balanced meal requires 50% carbs, 30% fat, and 20% protein. the first restaurant i’ve done is mcdonald’s because i go there most frequently. please keep in mind for these proportions you MUST order the item exactly as it comes/is titled in the list! i’m not sure how much or little it’ll effect the proportions if you take individual ingredients off (ex. big mac no pickles) it might change the stats. without further ado here is the list <3

As the adage says, “Love moves in mysterious ways.” In the play Much Ado About Nothing, it revolves around the love story of Hero and Claudio in the most unexpected way—a roller coaster love story that includes oppression, miscommunication, and deception. Likewise, this play explores the ways in which we can be hostile to love and relationships, and it resonates with the sound of women’s position and the necessity of marriage during the Renaissance period. 

As I go through the play, one thing that comes to my mind is the idea of how women were treated unfairly and unjustly. Though it was a comedy play, it is still certainly hurtful to see women being forced to do things against their will and being subjected to a different kinds of unfair treatment. In the part where Hero was denounced and accused of being unchaste publicly without having any concrete evidence, it shows how women were seen to be below men. Despite the accusations’ lack of concrete proof, people still believed what Claudio had declared, and Hero was disowned by his own father and even the people. She was also forced to take all the accountability for those accusations. In the end, truth still prevails. Hero was able to regain her reputation and marry the love of her life, Claudio. Despite all Claudio had done to her, she continued to love and accept him, proving how tough and treacherous their love story was. This simply shows how rampant marriage and women’s unjust treatment were during the Renaissance period. Honestly, I was saddened to learn these kinds of stuff during that time, and I can’t imagine how women were able to stand with that kind of system. As a women’s empowerment advocate, I am deeply disturbed of knowing such things and being unable to do anything makes me more vulnerable and frustrated. Besides, it reflects how they place premium on women’s chastity and associate it with their social status. Also, it portrays how Shakespeare conveys the humorous yet powerful message of the play. This also proves that miscommunication and misunderstanding are an innate part of humanity. To avoid such things from happening, we just need to think beyond the box and understand some things because what we hear from other people is not always true. In addition, the author probably wants to show how the Renaissance period still oppressed women and how men were treated above anyone else.

To take everything into account, this play illustrates how destiny plays with the hearts of the main characters, twists situations, and paves the way to fuse their souls tightly. Forbye, love is beautiful and yet inescapable fragment of life. Indeed, “love moves in mysterious ways.”

i haven’t touched makeup wipes in about 7 years because they tended to irritate my skin especially around my eyes so i swapped to this cleansing balm and it’s amazing at removing even the most stubborn makeup efficiently without feeling harsh at all 💆‍♀️

2. ren skincare evercalm gentle cleansing milk

i used to think cleansers were supposed to make your face feel “squeaky clean” until i realised that just meant my skin was being stripped of its natural oils 😭 this is by far the most gentle cleanser i’ve found and i’ve tried a TON none of which can compare like this is srsly such a uniquely soothing product

3. origins drink up intensive overnight hydrating mask

this mask is my absolute fave 🌟 it’s marketed as an overnight mask so sometimes i’ll use it in place of my moisturiser but more often than not i just leave it on for a few hours while i study and it leaves my skin feeling so nice and rejuvenated yippee

4. hada labo gokujyun premium hyaluronic acid lotion

ok this is called a ‘lotion’ but it technically functions as a serum imo and it’s truly my ride or die product i can’t even tell you how many bottles i’ve gone through. it’s comprised of 7 kinds of hyaluronic acid so it is ultra-ultra-moisturising and it makes my skin feel so bouncy and hydrated yass 💧

5. kiehl’s creamy eye treatment with avocado

this is the only eye treatment i think actually made a significant difference out of all the ones i’ve used. it’s so creamy you just need the tiniest amount and it melts so nicely into my skin 🙌 i suffer from super dry undereyes and eyelids and this honest to god saved my life #kiehlsstan4eva

6. caudalie vineactive overnight detox oil

okay firstly i’m obsessed with how this face oil smells it’s like being transported to a spa but more importantly i love how it absorbs into my skin without feeling greasy in the slightest <- i didn’t even know that was possible with an oil. tbh idgaf about the anti-aging claims but this noticeably makes my skin feel sooo soft when i wake up in the morning so i highly recommend!

this is not marketed specifically as a moisturiser but i use it as one LOL. this is my ultimate holy grail i cannot emphasise enough how it totally transformed my skin esp. in the winter months it is so freaking nourishing and i will repurchase it forever and ever 🫶

The Promises I’m Making (2023)

Oop, a little late on this this year, but it was really hard to come up with 50 different promises this year. Some years it is so easy, but this year I just drew a total blank. I think the complete unpredictability of the past two years has left me with the sense that I shouldn’t try to plan for anything--the wild events of the year might just send those plans up in smoke in an instant!

Still, the show must go on! So, 16 years later, I’m still making 50 promises a year. Definitely hoping that this year will be better than the last and I’ll be able to keep quite a few more promises, including some of them that have been rolled over for multiple years--maybe, maybe! Without any more ado, here they are:

2023 Promises

1) Work on the Texas house yard. It’s still never really recovered from the frost that killed everything in 2021 and it looks pretty shabby right now.

2) Get both bedroom floors sanded in the Utah house upstairs.

3) Get the Utah house sprinklers up and working ALL the way for this summer.

4) Actually get the back fence fixed up and the greenery back there trimmed and managed.

4) Put a new sink/vanity in the downstairs bathroom of the Utah house.

5) Related to that, lose at least 20 pounds. 2020-2022 was not kind to me and the stress eating was real.

6) Take my mom on a road trip to one of the U.S. states that she has not been to before.

7) Get back in touch with the allergy specialist to continue working on my allergy/inflammation issues.

8) Go through my closets and donate or throw away clothes that I know I will not wear.

9) Finish at least five books this year.

10) Organize my documents (especially student papers)—my desktop and documents folders give me nightmares just looking at them. 

11) Help Kacchan through her first semester as a teacher! Exciting!!

12) Get a decent paper shredder to shred old mail. 

13) Clean off my back patio/car port area so I can park my car there again.

14) Get the Texas house dishwasher fixed… I’m so tired of washing dishes by hand… How do people do this, oof.

15) 100% complete FF16 babyyyyy!!

16) Talk to an HR rep about my retirement savings so that I can consolidate my retirement accounts. I have been putting this off for like five years now.

17) Do at least one artwork to actually use that new paint program I bought. 

18) Pay my credit debt down by at least $2000. I’m still paying off the hell year but I hope I can make progress on this.

19) Finish making changes to master courses. No more major revisions!

20) See a zone-tailed hawk. This is another rare-but-possible bird for my area.

21) Attend the FFXIV Fanfest in Las Vegas!

22) Update HaaH at least once. Please, Echo???

23) Get the small leak fixed in the side bathroom of the Texas house and have the faucets replaced.

24) Look into the cost of light housekeeping services to give myself a little more time to do things that aren’t work.

25) Catch up with hanging up all the charms/pins I’ve gotten recently on my corkboards; these are just sitting in boxes/bags around the house. D;

26) Use Spotify more often or cancel my Spotify Premium subscription; it’s not worth it if I don’t use it.

27) Get an art display book to preserve my great grandfather’s artworks (which we discovered my now late uncle STOLE from me even though they were willed to me when my grandfather passed away???)

28) Fix the screens on the Texas house.

29) Bird watch at a specific location in Texas. It’s my secret where since I’d rather not share my specific location on social media, but let’s hope I can finally make it to this place!

30) Finally get rid of the dirt pile in the front of the Utah house.

31) Sign NeNe (my puppy) up for the intermediate dog training course.

32) This is super nerdy, but my bro got me the FFXIV cookbook and made me promise to actually use it, so I guess I’d better at least try to make something from it.

33) Take down the remains of the wooden fence posts at the Utah house.

34) Take part in the fitness challenge at work this coming semester.

35) I will remember to take my medicine on time, all the time. Taking them late is messing things up quite a bit.

36) Get a stand for the toaster oven in the break room so we can finally use it!

37) Get my car detailed because the inside really needs to be vacuumed.

38) Go horseback riding on the island. I’ve never ridden on a beach before!

39) Eat healthier. Maybe cutting out snacks is too much to ask, but at least replace some average meals with salads, etc. and overall make an effort to actually eat better. Sometimes the fact that I feel like garbage is my own fault.

40) Wait, I should probably acquire a Playstation 5 so I can actually play my new copy of FF16, lol.

41) Help make sure the new tutoring requirement for the English classes goes over well.

42) Finish decorating the main office. I’ll feel better if my workplace reflects the level of professionalism and school spirit that I envisioned it having this year.

43) Catch every variant of Vivillon in Pokemon Go. I’m currently missing Icy Snow, Marine, Meadow, Monsoon, Ocean, Polar, River, Sandstorm, Savanna, Sun, and Tundra, if anyone would like to be friends!

44) Try to be more comprehensive with giving feedback to students. I’m always good at providing detailed comments on essays, but I’d like to spend more time commenting on smaller assignments too this year.

45) Make sure the retirement party for my coworkers who retired this year goes off without a hitch and honors them well.

46) Take part in more activities on campus; I have a tendency to not attend many events because they’re in the evening when I’m tired, but I should really stay more often.

47) Write some Chainsaw Man fanfic for @mistystarshine!

48) Help my parents tear out the carpet in my old childhood bedroom.

49) Do something to destress (massage, pedicure, something?) at least once per month. I gotta take better care of myself…

50) I will keep my promises!
