Adamandriel Flower Shop AU

If there was one thing Adam hated, it might have been the smell of flower shops. Not that he hated flowers or even flower bouquets but at one point, it was just a little too much. And obviously, his mom made him go and get some flowers for his aunt from the flower shop that opened earlier that week. When Adam opened the heavy glass door, he was hit by the scent of flowers everywhere. The counter was empty, so he went ahead and rang the little bell sitting on the counter. “Hey, I just need-” Adam swallowed the rest of his sentence when a guy came out of the backroom. He was shorter than him, blue eyes, blond hair. That guy was really cute. “You need... help?” the guy asked. “Yeah,” Adam agreed. “It’s my aunt’s birthday.” “Oh, that’s no problem.” The guy smiled widely. “I can make you a nice bouquet for her.” Adam nodded agreeing. Actually, Adam just wanted a premade bouquet so he could leave as soon as possible, but the chance of getting to chat to the guy some more seemed too enticing. The guy came around the counter. Getting a look at his name tag, his name seemed to be Alfie. Excitedly, he walked around the shop, pointing at flowers and talking about them. Adam couldn’t care less, but the way Alfie got excited kind of warmed his heart. He slowly followed the shorter around. “Are you close to your aunt?” Alfie asked, picking a few flowers out of buckets aligned to the wall. “Uhm, I don’t know. Not really. We see each other a few times a year, but that’s about it.” Alfie nodded. “I see. We shouldn’t go all out, then.” He walked across the room and picked out more flowers. Red, yellow, pink, white. Adam really liked these flowers. “Are you new in town?” Adam asked, trying to keep up the conversation. “Yes, actually,” Alfie replied. “I just moved here a few months ago.” He brought the flowers to the counter where he organized the flowers nicely, but some other stuff in there and made it look like an actually nice bouquet. Then he pulled out a card. “You can write a note or something if you’d like.” Adam simply wrote a generic “Happy Birthday” and closed the card again. Then he pulled out his wallet and paid. “Uh, thanks for your help, Alfie,” he said and he stuffed his money back into his jeans. “That’s not actually my name. Alfie is just a nickname. You can call me Sammie.” Adam watched the shorter for a moment before he smiled. “Alright then, Sammie. Bye.” He took the bouquet and walked to the glass door he entered through. “Wait.” Adam turned around, Sammie approached him, picked out a red rose and gave it Adam. “That’s on the house,” he smiled. Adam smiled back shyly. “I feel bad not giving back anything.” He walked back to the counter, grabbed a note and a ballpoint pen and scribbled down a series of numbers, followed by his name. “Maybe this will come in useful.” Both of them smiled, and when Adam approached the door at that time, he actually left the shop, keeping up the smile, and regularly checking his phone. Someone might call him, Adam thought. And indeed, someone did.

The challenge is open to everyone, whether you’re a part of our discord server or not (but you’re welcome to join us here :))

General Rules:

Double prompts consist of a rare ship prompt and a word/phrase prompt. Those can be used combined together, or separately—meaning you can create for the ship without including the word prompt or use the word prompt and create for any rare ship you like

We encourage experimenting with different ships, but if you'd rather write 31 fics for the same pairing, that's alright, too!

You can create for as many or as few prompts as you like. Even just one work is great
