So, first the banner.

I wanted to give focus to the outfits that Meg chose for them to wear - I love men suits and I HAD to make something about it. I also wanted it to look kind of sweet, so I chose the pastel-y background, and decided to make the title pop by making it neon - which fit with the lighting I chose as well.

It took a bit over one hour.

and now the main piece

This main piece took a bit more than 4 hours and a lot of thinking. I wanted them to be the main focus. At first I also wanted to make a detailed background - but it would, I think, keep the attention from them. So I changed my mind and made it very undetailed and basic in contrast with them. I wanted them to be in full light - mostly because of the vibesTM that the scene gave me re their feelings for each other and especially the way Dean noticed how Lucifer knew him more than he gave him credit for. so there is this very bright scene with minimal shading, sorta "angelic" (pun not intended) as they only focus on each other, and it should give a hint to the viewers (which in this fic are Sam and Michael, but it could also be the readers.

I hope you will like the fic as much as I did and will give it a shot. It's a Fake to Real Relationship trope with a case in true Supernatural style.

“Dean,” Lucifer says, and no, Dean was wrong, that is definitely fear.

Dean swallows.

The battlefield rumbles. Conflict cuts across Lucifer's expression.

“It isn't going to stop,” Lucifer presses.

“They're vessels,” Dean snaps, outraged breaking out of him. “They're not choosing this fight. It's senseless violence! You could've just exorcised them, you didn't have to massacre them!”

“It wouldn't have solved the problem,” Lucifer argues.

“Bullshit. You're just trying to justify your trigger-happy impulses!”

Lucifer's expression locks-down and he straightens away from Dean.

Dean swallows down a screamed swear, grabbing at his head in frustration. “You didn't have to to do this,” he yells.

“Yes,” Lucifer says, tone clipped, distant, stone, “I did.”

Dean closes his eyes.

Excerpt:

Lucifer could not forget hazy green eyes. He could not forget soft lips and desperate pleas.

He was an archangel. He was the third most powerful being loose in the Cosmos.

He was worryingly obsessed with his brother’s vessel.

His demons cringed away from him as his wings swept through the physical plane, and overturned the ratty furniture that filled the abandoned building they called home. Their leader, Meg she wanted to be called, stared at him. “My lord,” she asked in her husky voice, “what troubles you?”

Lucifer was tempted to snap, to destroy every single one of the creatures in this room, but he needed them. “I am merely impatient for my vessel to consent.”

She nodded, her eyes lighting. “If it makes any consolation, your brother’s vessel is just as stubborn.”

Lucifer snarled. He did not want to think about his brother’s vessel. The human vexed him in the worst way, and though he abhorred his current melodramatics, he couldn’t help his reactions.

“Leave me,” he said as calmly as he could muster.

His demons listened.

Mod Introductions!

Hello hello from the mods of the SPN Genderbend Bang! We are still a month or so off from officially opening the bang, but in the meantime we felt that introductions were in order. We've got three of us here, so it's time to meet the people who are here to help! First up, we have Any (@anyreiart): "Hello! I'm Any (they/them or any pronouns). I've been a fanfic writer and artist for a very long time now and have a lot of experience with bangs as a participant and also as mod (This is my 4th time as a mod). I think this is a super interesting bang idea, especially with the diversity and new stories it can bring, and when Eve told me about it, I jumped on the bandwagon to help. My strength is organization and discord wrangling."

Then we've got Max (you can find them here on twitter): "Hi friends! I'm Max (they/he). I got pulled into spn in 2005, but only found fanfic in 2018. Despite that, I now have over 40 works on ao3 and have participated in 10 bangs, (though this is only the 3rd I've modded). I cannot wait to see what this bang brings us.
