Where Do Believers Go In Death? This is an important question which is being asked of Preterists since we believe that all Bible Prophecy has been fulfilled. It is equally a question to ask a futurist as well. In this series of about six or seven lessons we will be answering some questions that futurists believe are tough questions. 365 Promises of God
Day 297 – Unless You Repent You Will Perish
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Luk 13:3 NKJV)
Read: Luke 13:1-5
Ever imagine Jesus giving a facepalm? I sure do. I bet I’ve given him plenty of reason to have one. And today’s reading is no different. Jesus had just finished in Ch12 giving a discourse on being faithful to those put over you. Then he goes on to tell them that he’d come to bring division. And asks why they can’t judge among themselves rather than bringing each other to court.
These things seem random, but they are all connected, as we will see in a moment. The question that was presented to Jesus at this point was about a group of Galileans who followed Judas Gaulonites. Their sect believed that they had no sovereign but God, and did not recognize Caesar as king, refusing to pay any tribute or tax. They went so far as to endure suffering and death rather than call any man Lord. These men had been slaughtered by Pilate INSIDE the temple, and their blood had defiled the blood of the sacrifice, turning it into an abomination.
To those standing around, this seemed to them an indication of God’s judgement. They perished, and their sins could NOT be forgiven, because their own blood defiled their own atoning sacrifices. Surely God was condemning these vile sinners to hell, as evidenced by this tragedy. And frankly, the Jews in Jerusalem often thought those backwards people living in Galilee were bigger sinners anyway. Maybe Jesus was just like them?
It’s probable that this exchange was initiated because Jesus had discussed His own lordship in Ch12, and Peter had even called Him Lord. In fact, this word, kyrios, appears NINE times in Ch12. Would this multitude surrounding him call Him Lord? Eh, no, they missed the point to stab at him.
The men Jesus was addressing had condemned their brothers on circumstantial evidence. They turned the knife, so to speak, by pointing out that they were ‘Galileans’. But Jesus answers their question with a ‘question answer’. “Do you think these ‘Galileans’ were bigger sinners than all the other ‘Galileans’ because of this?” Normally, a ‘question answer’ isn’t rhetorical. But Jesus supplies the answer FOR them, because it’s critically important.
NO! They weren’t worse sinners than any other Galileans. Away with your condemnation of others for their misfortunes. Instead, look in a mirror and consider your OWN soul. Unless you REPENT, you will all likewise perish. Sadly, this was a prophesy and a promise. Because this tragedy DID happen to many standing there, in AD70, when Titus invaded Jerusalem to quell an uprising, and slaughtered a multitude there inside the temple where they’d taken refuge.
Jesus doesn’t stop there, though. He asks another question, much closer to home, about a tower in Jerusalem, overlooking the Pool of Siloam, that fell on and crushed 18 people. These weren’t ‘Galileans’. They were your close neighbors. Yet some random tragedy, an act of God so to speak, had happened, and killed them all. Were they worse sinners than all of YOU?
Again, he doesn’t leave the question unanswered. Away with your bigotry about the Galileans. Away with your condemnation of others. Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. And again, this is a prophesy that was fulfilled in AD70, when Rome, destroying Jerusalem, tore down towers, buildings, and walls, crushing the inhabitants of Jerusalem under the rubble.
Yet this sad promise doesn’t just pertain to the men standing there, does it? The statement Jesus makes here is critical for all of us to pay attention to. Hell is hot, and we are not. Unless WE repent, there’s outer darkness and weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth and a lake of fire.
‘Repent’ is not a word we like. It indicates we’ve done something wrong. It tells us we are headed the wrong way, and need to turn around. Most of us would like to avoid that word. To pretend we are all ok, doing what we are doing, and that somebody else is the ‘bad guy’. But when we take a good hard look at the person in the mirror, we understand the truth. It’s only by His mercy and grace that we have any hope of avoiding the eternal ‘perish’ indicated here.
It's my prayer that this promise is NOT for any of us. But even if you, reading this right now, realize this promise is aimed at you, it begins with a sweet word. The word, UNLESS. The same word the Lorax left at the end of that Seuss classic, and it’s the same word left for you and me. That word gives us hope, that there’s a chance. A chance to avoid all that unpleasant eternal lake of fire. The judgement we deserve, but can avoid, through that simple word, repent.
This Greek word, metanoeo, is found 34 times in the New Testament, and each time translated ‘repent’. It means to turn around. Turn from sin to God. Agree with God that what you were doing was wrong. It’s so simple, yet so hard, sometimes. And everything depends on it.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for another chance. You are always giving me second chances. Lord, I repent of what I’ve been doing that wasn’t right and good and pure. Help me to follow you with all my heart, today. Amen

LIGHT OF LIFE 425
John 1:4
UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC MANDATES 59: TIME OF FULFILLMENT 1
Amo 3:7 CERTAINLY, THE ALMIGHTY LORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS HE FIRST REVEALS HIS SECRET TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. GW
There are certain correlating and sometimes, Complementing events that happen around the Time of Fulfillment of many Prophecies in the bible and today.
You just have to comprehend this.
I Sam 12:17 YOU KNOW THAT IT DOES NOT RAIN AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR DURING THE WHEAT HARVEST. I will ask the Lord to send thunder and rain today. Then you will realize how wicked you have been in asking the Lord for a King!” NLT
Some of such correlating events in Time, will not condone another kind of event happening.
For example, there’s a time of War in life and those within such circles cannot enjoy their expected ease or peace.
They will have to subsist by God’s grace - if they have God - at such times.
Jer 45:3-5 YOU ARE MOANING AND BLAMING ME, THE LORD, for your troubles and sorrow, and for being SO TIRED THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN REST. But all over the earth I am tearing down what I built and pulling up what I planted. I am bringing disaster everywhere, SO DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING ANY BIG PLANS FOR YOURSELF. However, I promise that wherever you go, I WILL AT LEAST PROTECT YOU FROM DEATH. I, the LORD, have spoken. CEV
On another hand, there are sometimes CONTRASTING events that happen but in succession of one another.
One seems to wait for the other to end before happening, and there are reasons.
Ecc 7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity TAKE NOTE THAT GOD ALSO HAS SET THE ONE OVER AGAINST THE OTHER, to the end that man should find nothing after him. MKJV
It is just like Day & Night: they both have 12hrs [here] and they follow each other and never mix.
Isa 21:11-12 This is the divine revelation about Dumah. Someone is calling to me from Seir, "Watchman, HOW MUCH OF THE NIGHT IS LEFT? Watchman, how much of the night is left?" The watchman answers, "MORNING IS COMING, AND NIGHT WILL COME AGAIN. If you need to ask, come back and ask." GW
That scripture is simply saying that evil times will soon be over, but they will return again.
Men won’t stop sinning, so they will have repeated troubles and vicious cycles. We love this one…
Psa 30:5 I’ve learned that his anger lasts for a moment, but his loving favor lasts a lifetime! WE MAY WEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT, BUT AT DAYBREAK IT WILL TURN INTO SHOUTS OF ECSTATIC JOY. TPT
It could be true for an individual, but somewhere, somehow, somebody else could fall into pains and sorrows.
But if that individual commits grievous offenses again, the evil may return to him.
Joh 5:14 After this Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “Look, YOU HAVE BECOME WELL. DON’T SIN ANY MORE, LEST ANYTHING WORSE HAPPEN TO YOU.” NET
There are also Prophetic events that Announce the main or next Prophetic event in History.
2Ch 36:22 In the first year that Cyrus of Persia was emperor, THE LORD MADE WHAT HE HAD SAID THROUGH THE PROPHET JEREMIAH COME TRUE. HE PROMPTED CYRUS TO ISSUE THE FOLLOWING COMMAND and send it out in writing to be read aloud everywhere in his empire: GNB
Also, there are the more Complex but Related Prophecies. They are mostly far apart in Time of Fulfillment but they are commonly symbolic of each other.
It’s called Typology.
Mat 24:15-16 Therefore WHEN YOU SEE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand). Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. MKJV
This was Jesus, complementing Daniel Prophecy about the very end of time, as in Revelations.
But then He said something strange later in this same chapter, and it has caused conflicts.
Mat 24:34 Truly I say to you, THIS GENERATION WILL NOT COME TO AN END TILL ALL THESE THINGS ARE COMPLETE. BBE
The simplest explanation is that, in AD70, Emperor Nero unleashed terror upon the Jews that is symbolic of what will be happening at the very end.
The details are quite similar, according to Historical fact. The REAL event TIME is still coming, and quite near [now].
Dan 12:11 And from the time that the DAILY SACRIFICE SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY, and the desolating abomination set up, a thousand two hundred and ninety days shall occur. MKJV
Many Prophets have borne the details of this very epic event through time.
Jer 30:7 Ha! for that day is so great that there is no day like it: IT IS THE TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLE: but he will get salvation from it. BBE
All such [related] events help us to keep focus and prepare for the REAL event involving us.
I pray that your heart will beat to the rhythm of your Prophetic Relevance, IN JESUS NAME.
Come back on Wednesday, for more of this insightful and enlightening Sub-Subtopic.
Keep Shinning!

The Scarlet Harlot in Revelation
The Scarlet Harlot in Revelation
We have seen the bowls of wrath being poured out as Christ gave His life on Calvary. By now, you realize that most of what we’ve been handed as “end times” events is far-fetched. It’s hard to believe because it does not make sense. The Revelation of Christ is much more straight forward and simple to grasp. After Christ’s crucifixion, one of the angels who held one of the bowls being poured out…

Part 4 in the series of Coming on the Clouds In Like Manner from Acts 1:9-11. How does this text align with a coming of Christ that occurred in the past? The Scriptures leaves clues, very definitive ones. Jesus promised he would return beefore the generation living while he was on earth passed away. He called in coming in the clouds. AD70 and the destruction of the Jewes city of Jerusalem and their temple. See also the themes on the restoratoin of Israel and more.

Do these well-attested NT documents tell the truth? We have good reason to believe they do. For instance, none of the NT documents mention the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, an earth-shattering event for the Jews, which occurred in AD 70. There are also indications within the text that imply the temple was still in operation. It stands to reason that the most likely reason for the absence of such information is because most, if not all, of the NT was written prior to the events of AD 70. Thus, there is good reason to believe the NT contains early testimony about Jesus and the Apostles.

365 Promises of God
Day 308 – We Are Raised in Power
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: (1Co 15:43 KJV)
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Today’s key verse should look very familiar. We unpacked this just yesterday. I’ve pointed our reading to a second section of scripture that covers this momentous event, an event called in many evangelical circles, the Rapture. (here's a rough ai rendition)
Why in the world would I bother bringing this up again? Well, not just because there are multiple promises embedded in these few verses. Just a few days ago, I ran across a Facebook post where a podcaster was asking for ideas to cover in an ongoing podcast about things the church considers biblical truth, that aren’t in the Bible.
Imagine my surprise when one person suggested the Rapture, because it’s not in there. I spent a good part of my morning doing research on it. And while they are correct that the term ‘rapture’ is not in there, the concept for it is found in many places, and not just these two passages of scripture I’ve covered these last two days. Jesus talks about this event himself in Matt 24, and in Luke 17. Also 1Thes 1:10 and Rev 3:10, 1 Thes 5:2, and 2Pet 3:10.
I pointed these verses out to those questioning the event, but their claims were that the verses mentioned described the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70. My apologies, but that explanation is hogwash. The destruction of Jerusalem happened after an invasion over time, and a 2-year siege. The verses indicated here describe a ‘snatching’, a twinkling of the eye, a thief in the night. Two people are grinding, one is taken, the other is not. Two are sleeping in the same bed, one is taken and the other is not. This describes a worldwide sudden event, very selective and instantaneous. Call it what you want, but I’ll just use the term Rapture. And that sudden event will be one of the most incredible demonstrations of God’s power in all of time.
Recent estimates place the total number of people who have ever lived at around 108 billion. The majority of those souls have been in the last 500 years. In fact, at the time of Christ there were around 100 million people, and by 1500 AD, that number had only grown to around 500 million, while current earth populations is a hair over 8 billion.
Based on best estimates, in 1910 a third of the world population was Christian in name at least over time, so we could expect that there have been about 30B Christians over the ages. Their bodies all long since reduced to ash, or dust, and if there are bones at all they lie all over the globe, even at the bottom of the deepest oceans.
Yet, in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, Jesus is going to raise the dead in Christ and bring their bodies, in whatever form they may be, out of the graves, out of the caves, out of the oceans, even from space if needed.
Even the Mafia’s hiding places will not prevent the Lord of Creation from getting them. Out of concrete parking garages and football stadiums, out of the swamps, from the mass graves of the Civil War and the mass graves from the gulag, from the killing fields and from the unmarked shallow graves in the desert.
These particulate forms and half-rotted cadavers will be gathered and transformed into new and glorified bodies, and the living spirits of the fallen Christians will be reunited with their amazing new bodies. A sea of billions of cheering saints praising God with arms raised. I can just see it. And not just because it’s in my mind’s eye. No, my wife brought a puzzle home with this event on it, and we worked very hard at assembling it. (picture below). It’s a 1000 piece puzzle, and it’s missing a corner because one of our several cats decided to jump up on it when it was half-completed, and cascade it to the floor. Yet we persevered, and here it is.
(and, well, here HE is! The little devil, not too bothered by a little pet-shaming)
Yes, dear Christian, we’re going to be raised, and we are going to be raised in power. And it will be GLORIOUS!
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I’m awestruck at the image of your incredible power, that you will demonstrate in THAT Day. Even so, Come Lord Jesus, even today. Amen

21:32 verily I say to you -- This generation may not pass away till all may have come to pass;.(YLT)
21:32 “I assure you that all these things will happen while some of the people of this time are still living. (ETV)
21:33この天地は滅びます。しかし、わたしのことばは決して滅びることがありません。

George Floyd mural covered up in Phoenix; drew complaint it ‘celebrates White violence’
Artist Jeremie “Bacpac” Franko painted a George Floyd mural in Phoenix last year to “start a conversation” about the Minneapolis man’s death in police custody. But after complaints from residents, and an act of vandalism earlier this year, Franko painted over her mural Friday, according to a report. The mural showed Floyd’s face on a $20 bill and included the title,…

Why Current Events Are NOT A Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecies
by Aaron Logan You’ll find many people today pointing to current events in the news and claiming they are fulfillments of things written in Ezekiel, Zechariah, Daniel, etc. However, Jesus made it essentially impossible to take Old Testament prophecies and throw them out into the future, beyond the 1st century. Note His words in Luke 21...
1) First He prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple (”not one stone left upon another” Lk 21:6).
2) Then He gave them signs which would lead up to this day (v8-19). 3) Then He said the following:
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near. 21 Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city; 22 because THESE are days of vengeance, so that ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN will be FULFILLED. (Luke 21:20-22) (bold, caps added)
What were the “all things which were written”? What scriptures were written at the time Jesus made this statement? The Old Testament scriptures. The Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. (The Psalms, or Writings, actually included Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, etc.) When was Jerusalem surrounded by armies, and the city and the Temple destroyed? In the Jewish-Roman War of AD66-70 (the ultimate destruction occurring in AD70). That very generation. In fact, we are told by historians that the believers heeded this warning of Jesus (to THEIR generation), and after the Roman army led by Cestius Gallus surrounded Jerusalem, and then packed up and left, the Christians fled the city and went to Pella and various other locations (safe, away from Jerusalem). They remembered Jesus’ warning, and thus they survived the fall of Jerusalem in AD70, which occurred at the hand of the Roman general, Titus.
This is consistent with the time-statement Jesus made further down in the chapter. After continuing to talk about the signs (using apocalyptic language) He then makes the following declaration:
Truly I say to you, THIS generation will not pass away until all things take place. Lk 21:32 (caps added)
So not only was Jesus Himself the fulfillment of the promises to Israel (see Acts 13:32-33 and Gal 3:16), but here we have absolute clarity in Luke 21 that everything which had been written in the Old Testament scriptures would be fulfilled in that generation, by the time Jerusalem faced its destruction. (This also aligns with what we see in Daniel 12....the “time of the end” would be when they finished shattering the power of the holy people . Dan 12:1-7)
And guess what?? It DID happen in that 1st century generation, fulfilling Jesus’ prophecy.
This means we cannot take any Old Testament prophecies and throw them out in the future, or even bring them into our present day. They were fulfilled when Jesus said they would be fulfilled.
