HEADCANONS: Lolacey (6/20)
On Thursday night, Lacey finds Lola crying on a bench near the hotel. Naturally, Lacey sat next to her for comfort and, after a short bit, the two of them go for a walk to help Lola clear her head presumably.
Lacey finds out what happened to upset Lola, or at least the basics of finding out that someone Lola cared for had slept with someone else. Always the physically comforting person, Lacey hugs Lola and does what she can to help with the crying.
While talking, Lola ends up kissing Lacey, who isn’t exactly quick to protest. The only reason she pushes her away is because of how upset Lola initially was. Lacey offers to take Lola back to her room, not thinking anything other than that she wanted to make sure Lola was somewhere safe for the night. Truly an idiot.
When they reach Lacey’s room, Lola’s the one who tries to initiate sex. Lacey promptly refuses out of worry that it’d be taking advantage. Lola leaves before Lacey can say as much though.

BATTLE OF THE BULLSHIT DEDICATIONS
Lady, oh lady, did you girls pack in the drama. I don’t think I’ve seen a Battle so wild since Hamilton. The dedications, tears, and hot messes were a plenty.
Also, you all have horrible taste in music.
Tumblr media
Riley dedicated two songs. Here’s a hint. I know the Showers like to pretend they’re all dudebros, but the way to make friends and influence people at a lesbian bar is not by playing It’s Raining Men. Riley’s second dedication was stupid as hell and cheesy beyond belief, which means Haley probably loved it. On the other hand, considering Kitty walked out in the middle of the song, I’m guessing she didn’t. @rileduplynn @haleyface @awildecard
Lola continues to perpetuate the notion that she’s a feminist by dedicating a song to the only two people in ACup who like her, Nicola and Kitty, are only forced to deal with her because they live together. @lolalvarez @nicoladerocha @awildecard
Hunter dedicated a song to Logan about sex, so maybe while they’re doing the deed, Logan can do us all a favor and get that stick out from up Hunter’s ass. @huntercyastud @acuplogan
Raise your hand if you’re confused as to why Evie dedicated a song to Reggie. Evie, do you not see how much bullshit Reggie is in right now? Do you really want to add yourself to the list of “Basic Bitches Who Are Involved With Reggie?” Come on. You’re smarter than this. @evielutionary @rocketpowerreg
Blair dedicated a song to Ellie, but it wasn’t reciprocated. Ouch. Looks like Blair’s continuing her trend of taking over her ex’s sloppy seconds? Sounds like fun. Blair also dedicated a song to Rachel about being boob buddies, so maybe #Blairchel is becoming a thing now that Ellie’s ghosted her. Blair’s final dedication of the night was to Serena, with everyone’s favorite song that Paula Abdul tries to sing-- but methinks there’s some drama there. @beeanders @acupellie @theyearofthestar @serenasmythemd
Bea and Sam both dedicated songs to each other, which I’m guessing means that they’re close to making things official. Yawn. @thcbeasknees @samerystargaryen
Poor Jessi dedicated four songs to her supposed comrades: Blair, Rachel, Mae, and Matt, but didn’t get a single one back. I think we could have figured out that Jessi was going to dedicate a song to Rachel, considering neither of them can let that one go, but my guess wasn’t that it would be via Maroon 5. Blair and Mae got boring friendship songs,  obviously also unreciprocated. Did anybody know that Jessi and Matt were friends? @heavenlystjames @theyearofthestar @yesyesyoumae @acupofmatt
By far the most entertaining dedication of the Warblette’s set was from Serena to Lola. I have reports of them leaving BOTB together. Lola may be pretty, but we know she’s definitely not dumb. Serena’s cash flow could help pay a lot of bills. @serenasmythemd @lolalvarez
I have nothing to say about Jemma’s dedication to Haley. It was the single dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. @itsjemmabitch @haleyface
Matt dedicated a song to Reagan, which, yawn. Another one that didn’t get a dedication back, which might spell trouble for those two on the horizon. Plus, there is no better example of Taylor Swift’s rap prowess than the line “range rovers and jag-you-ars.” @acupofmatt @reaglane
Kitty did a hilarious dedication to Jackie, Fiona, and Rachel. I’m going to pause on the Fiona part because I don’t remember that happening, but RACHEL IS ONE OF KITTY’S EXES? #KITCHELISREAL @awildecard @acupp-jp @thehudsonator @theyearofthestar
I... had so much secondhand embarrassment for Mae’s dedication to Stevie. Holy hell. Was that painful for anyone else to watch? I think the only thing that would have made it worse was if Mae had sung it herself. @streetsmartstevie @yesyesyoumae
My dedication to all of you, of course, was hilarious and perfectly chosen. Next time, make this shit more interesting because I was bored out of my mind watching the BOTB Livestream. Until the next battle, ladies!

♬ Full Name: Louisa Cristina “Lola” Alvarez ♪  FC: Lauren Jauregui ♫ Alternate FCs: ♪ Age/Birthday: 25 / March 23, 1994 ♫ Occupation: Model/make-up artist/burlesque dancer/photographer ♪ Hometown: Brooklyn, NY ♫ Personality: enigmatic, magnetic, confident, lonely, passionate
Tumblr media
Louisa doesn’t talk about her birth parents, simply because there’s nothing to talk about. Her father, she can assume, was never really in the picture, and her mother left her on the stoop of a fire department in the 99th precinct of New York City, so it’s not as if she cared. Louisa rarely thinks about her birth parents, if at all. The truth was, Consuelo Migdas was sixteen when she gave birth to Louisa, and wasn’t ready to have a family. She had hoped that by putting her daughter up for adoption, she’d be put into a good home.
It took twelve years for Louisa to be adopted. Twelve years for the world to show Louisa its cold nature. By the time she turned ten, Louisa had been carted to four different foster homes. Every time it looked like there was a promise of someone wanting to take her home, she ended up being returned like a blouse that didn’t fit quite right. Louisa quickly began losing hope that anybody would keep her for good. She’d be stuck in the foster system until she was eighteen years old, and then she’d become a ward of the state. She’d have to fend for herself in the extremely cruel city of New York.
If you asked her now, she’d tell you that it could have been much worse, but that’s very much in line with Louisa’s character. She’s not dramatic in that way. She’ll downplay anything to make you think she hasn’t suffered, she’s perfectly fine. But truthfully? Not having the unconditional love of a family had more of an impact on her than she’d ever care to admit. Louisa was awful in school– on the days she came in and wasn’t starving, she found that it was tough for her to concentrate. Numbers and words didn’t make sense. Once, as a Christmas gift, she was given a book from one of her teachers: Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott. Louisa loved that they had the same name, and she loved the idea of growing up with four sisters who loved her and a mother who would do anything for her. All she wanted was a stable, consistent life.
Louisa found that she loved art from the very beginning, and would lose herself in drawings. She loved to play dress up.  She liked to take things, too. It started small, like a pack of gum or a candy bar. Nobody was any the wiser, and Louisa would never steal from the same place twice. She would steal art supplies from her school and only got caught once. Crying, she explained to her teacher that she only wanted to be able to draw at home. Three days later, she was gifted a beautiful set of over a hundred colored pencils. Every hue and shade Louisa could possibly imagine was in that set. She saved the nubs of those pencils and strung them together to make a necklace. It serves as a reminder for her– how far she’s come, and how much farther she has to go.
Things changed rapidly for the better when Mimi adopted her. At least, that’s how she introduced herself to Louisa: “I’m going to be your Mimi and we’re going to be very happy together.” It took Louisa a solid three months to believe her. If she could last longer than three months, that would be all. But Mimi showed her a home that was full of love, and a place where she was accepted. She had dinner every night, she had a quiet, cozy place to read her favorite book, and Mimi made sure she did all of her homework instead of roaming the streets.
It was when she was thirteen that she started going by Lola, if only because that’s what Mimi called her. When she asked why, Mimi would start singing the song from Damn Yankees– whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. And honestly, Lola wasn’t used to being spoiled. She wasn’t used to someone loving her. She wasn’t used to a real home.
When she applied to FIT, she put the design on the side and instead chose to focus on the modeling aspect. She got her degree, fine, but found herself loving the idea of being someone’s muse. Someone’s obsession. Someone’s love. Lola began to become heavily involved in making her own clothing, with the sewing machine that had been passed down from Mimi’s dressmaking mother right into Lola’s greedy little hands. It cost them a fortune to send her to college, but Mimi swore Lola was going to be on the cover every fashion magazine someday. Lola assured Mimi that she was too short, and focused on building a following via social media, something that she keeps up with today.
Lola’s life couldn’t be without one more tragedy, though. Mimi was cleaning the floor of their apartment in Brooklyn when she slipped on a puddle and hit her head. The injury resulted in dementia-like symptoms, not uncommon in Mimi’s age. After calling emergency services, Lola was told that there was nothing more that the doctors could do. Mimi was transferred to a care facility in Queens, and Lola visits her as faithfully as she can. Mimi is lucid sometimes, but often has no idea who Lola is other than the nice girl who visits her and sketches her.
Mimi’s current state has broken Lola’s heart. She’s picked up a few random jobs trying to make some extra cash– including dancing at a burlesque club (she insists it’s for the glamor of it all, but it’s mostly because she likes the attention), modeling for a series of painting classes (again, Lola likes attention), and working as a make-up artist. All the money she makes goes to pay for Mimi’s care, and to keep her room full of fresh flowers. Lola feels lost, understandably so, which is why she’s been so happy to join April’s Growers. It’s given her a new sense of purpose, even if sometimes she’s still kind of sad. Lola is doing the best that she can to juggle her odd jobs, her newfound roommates, her beloved mother, and pursuing what she loves.
Pets:  Lola recently rescued a French bulldog puppy named Donatella, who she loves more than life itself.
Tumblr media
♬ Santana Lopez
All things considered, they should be rivals– they’re both Latinas who can sing, they’re both drop dead gorgeous, and they usually go for the same modeling gigs– but Lola and Santana have somehow managed to become friends. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re now prone to admire each other’s beauty as often as they can in someone’s bedroom.
♪  Reggie Cliffton
Ah, how does Lola even begin to describe Reggie Clifton? They met at a rally in the city more than a year ago, which is only too fitting for the both of them.  Lola fell for Reggie and she fell very hard. They flirted, they messed around a lot, and when they admitted that they had feelings for each other, it was peppered with the worst thing Lola’s ever heard: I like you, but I don’t want to be in a relationship with you. Reggie, apparently, wasn’t ready, and Lola took her broken heart all the way back to Brooklyn and away from Acup. She’s come back around, though, and Lola is wasting no time in showing Reggie what she passed up.
♫ X Scott
X and Lola have a really beautiful relationship, based on a mutual love of art. Lola has become something of a muse to X, and she’s always willing to pose for a photo or painting. They’re very much kindred spirits and Lola would go to the ends of the earth for X.
♪ Nicola de Rocha and Kitty Wilde
Her roommates, but also her best friends. She’s only moved in with them recently, after Mimi’s accident. Her Brooklyn home got to be too quiet, and Lola loves their chatter. Lola thinks of them as three larger-than-life personalities who could gossip until the sun comes up. She’s not so subtly hinting to Kitty that she wants to shoot at Vogue, and always dropping her wishlist to Nicola. She loves her roommates and would do anything for them.

buy u a drank || lola & serena
Summary: During BOTB: Dedications Night, a shameless Serena makes a move. @lolalvarez
Tumblr media
Whenever Serena Smythe sees something she wants, there are always two options: either work hard for it, or throw money at it.  The latter tends to be the easier route, however in the case of a recent (read: sexy) addition to the ACuppella family whom Serena had her eyes on for the last few weeks, the Heiress realizes that a different, more subtle, tactic might need to be employed.
And what better way to charm a gorgeous woman than through Serena’s innate gift of song?
The Battle of the Bands: Dedication Edition, starts just like any other BotB.  The Warblettes are on their A-game, and put on powerful performance after powerful performance.  And even Serena’s unofficial son, Mae, manages (or at least deceptively appears) to keep it together, giving the heiress a strange swell of pride as Mae slays her numbers.
Finally, the time comes for Serena’s solo, and truth be told, there were some odd looks when the choice in song was handed in.  While yes, ‘Buy U a Drank’ doesn’t hold the same level of emotional impact as the theme song of Pokemon, Serena trusts in her song choice: that there’s no arguing the underlying message woven so intricately into T-Pain’s lyrics.
Dressed in designer slacks, heels, and her signature Warblettes blazer (strategic pinning and pasties employed), Serena takes center stage, and begins to snap her fingers, joined in rhythm soon after by the remaining Warblettes.  She doesn’t bother to say who the song is dedicated to.  That’ll be obvious in less than 50 seconds from now.  Voice velvet like fresh Remy Martin poured into a glass, Serena riffs effortlessly, and smoothly transitions into the lyrics.
“Woo, baby girl, what's your name? Let me talk to you, let me buy you a drink. Serena Smythe, you know me Warblette music oh boyee ooh”
As she sings, she’s made her way into the crowd, slow stepping her way toward a waiting April (delighted to provide an assist) who was clutching a perfectly made martini.
“I know the club close at three What's the chances that you are rollin' wit' me? Back to the crib, show you how I live Let's get drunk, forget what we did...”
Gently slipping her fingers beneath the bell of the glass, Serena continues her undulating half dance/half walk, holding the glass aloft, until she comes to stop right where one Lola Alvarez was sitting, body adorned in skin tight black leather, baby-smooth skin on display in all the right places.
The Heiress holds the glass out for the beautiful burlesque dancer to take just as the chorus starts.
“I'm a buy you a drank  Then I'm a take you home with me. I got money in the bank Shawty, what chu think about that? Find me in the gray Cadillac. We in the bed like...”
With a coy smirk Serena riffs once more, and continues her slow prowl through the crowd as the song continues.  The entire performance is entirely shameless and Serena could care less, she’s lost herself completely in the innate swagger of the song.  She makes two more passes by Lola’s table, keeping her piercing crystal eyes locked on the dancer’s gaze.
By the time the song is over, Serena has resumed her place on stage, bowed forward at the hip in thanks for the rowdy applause.  And at that moment, Lola glances down at the proffered cocktail--more specifically at the cocktail napkin--where in loping script it’s written: Find me in the black Cadillac --sfs.
And Lola does.
Lo and behold, as BotB ends, Lola finds Serena outside of ACup, standing aside a purring, jet black Cadillac Escalade, driver ready to take them to their next destination: Le Bain, a nightclub on the rooftop of The Standard.  Lola slides in the backseat with the heiress without a seconds hesitation.
The night continues in blur of dancing, flowing drinks and stunning vistas, finally culminating in one of the penthouse suites of The Standard.

@theyearofthestar replied to your post:
Follow up question that continues with your love of primes. Out of the seven of us, who's Gilligan, the Skipper, the Millionaire, her Wife, the Movie Star, the Professor, and Mary Ann?
Let me prefance this by saying I’ve never seen an episode of Gilligan’s Island. All my information on it comes from skimming the Wikipedia article, and a ten-minute phone conversation with my father.
The Professor = Evie. Need I say more? @evielutionary
The Millionaire = Reagan. I don’t fully know what her net worth is, but I’m guessing that it’s more than the rest of us. Not that money would do us much good on a stranded island, but I’m sure once we all go crazy with fever, passing around her credit card will make for some good hallucinations. @reaglane
Her Wife = Marley. Even if you asked me this question and I had all of Acup to pick from, I’d probably still say Marley since she seems like the best wifey material. @acupmarley
The Movie Star = Santana. Again, need I say more? @snixxxlopez
Mary Ann = The way my dad described her had me guessing that she’s too pure for this world, and that’s Lola in a nutshell. @lolalvarez
That just leaves me and you, Rachel, for the roles of Gilligan and Skipper. We can toss a coin to see who gets who but if we’re going by process of elimination, I know red isn’t really your color so I’m willing to make the sacrifice here and be Gilligan.

HOPE IS A DANGEROUS THING FOR A WOMAN → Leggie
TAGGING→ @lolalvarez @rocketpowerreg TIME→ Sunday, February 10th LOCATION→ Post-Showers vs Arrangers Game NOTES→ After the halftime flashmob the Flower Arrangers did in dedication to their injured teammate, Reggie can’t help but chase after Lola and ask why she went through coordinating such a thoughtful thing for her
REGGIE CLIFFTON
Most Sundays out of the year had been dedicated to soccer for the last nearing on three years for Reggie. At first it was due to being part of a team, and the last handful of months had been simply to spectate. It wasn't her favorite thing to do, but it wasn't her least favorite either. Team loyalty had always been an important part of sports to Reggie. She had always felt a sense of pride when wearing a jersey for the team she was part of, and that was especially true when it came to being a part of the Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers. It wasn't the team that'd lead her to play the sport forever like her youth league team, or the one that would get her affect her future like in high school. But it was the one that showed Reggie she could really get through hell, and come out the other side. She got to play soccer one more time, and while it was never in her cards again, at least she overcame the odds once. As well as got a whole team of lifelong friends that she would have otherwise never associated with.
That being said, Reggie would have never expected the halftime flash mob they had done in dedication to her. At first Reggie had no idea it was meant to be for her or that it was coming-- she had been ready to spend the time talking to Harper about plans for after the game. Then music began blasting over the field and the Arrangers slowly started joining together in dance. It wasn't until Reggie saw Lola join at the forefront that she managed to put together it wasn't just some halftime entertainment, it was something for her.
If the dance hadn't been enough proof, the fact each of the girls came up to Reggie with a specifically picked flower sure would have done it. Reggie wasn't exactly someone who enjoyed getting attention. Having all eyes on her was unnerving in general, which already was making her heart race questionably fast. But having the girl with familiar, piercing green eyes bring up the rear with her own flower to hand off made Reggie's head spin. Reggie sat there with red cheeks and eyes looking at the flowers. On the surface, it could have been easy enough to explain this thing as her old team celebrating Reggie's recent progress in recovery. She was out of her cast and just had a leg brace now, walking getting easier each week. But there was one factor to it that made Regina know it wasn't just that: the fact Lola orchestrated it.
Reggie was able to brush past the situation enough, but she was on edge the rest of the game, wanting to talk to Lola but deciding to wait until after the game. She needed to think, and she didn't want to be making a big deal out of nothing. But she knew Lola, and Reggie was wise enough to know the girl didn't coordinate elaborate dances for no reason. Lola had a good heart, Reggie had seen it herself in many instances, but it wasn't the type of heart that put itself out there without motivation. And now Reggie couldn't help but remember Spencer's warning of Lola's intentions and that perhaps she shouldn't of just let it slide by or rationalize it away. As the game neared its end, Reggie noticed Lola leave the bleachers and start to leave. Reggie still didn't immediately leave, but eventually, she didn't want to wait too long and miss her chance to talk to Lola. So she handed the flowers off to Matt and said she would catch up with them later, giving Harper a quick, albeit distracted, kiss on the cheek. Then Regina Cliffton was off, focused on chasing after Lola Alvarez to get some answers.
Given Reggie couldn't exactly run yet, she sped after Lola as fast as she could, the two of them nearing the edge of the park and a great distance from where they had started. When Reggie was sure she was within earshot, she finally called out, "Lola!" to get her to stop, Reggie's steps picking up so she could get there as swift as possible. Being more out of breath than she would have liked, Reggie still tried to maintain a certain composure to her given the possible seriousness of the situation. Meeting her eyes, Reggie took a deep breath in and swallowed hard, shakily saying, "Hey, we... we need to talk about all of that back there," She declared through parted lips, pointing back from where they came but keeping her attention on Lola,  "I don't understand.... why would you... did you really do all that for me?"
LOLA ALVAREZ
The last time Lola had been to a soccer game was, quite literally, two years ago. She'd been to one of Reggie's games, she'd been in the stands, she'd screamed her lungs off. This time, she was sitting with the rest of the Flower Arrangers (most of whom remarked on how good it was to see her again, which Lola was taking as a compliment to her looks), nearby Nicola and Spencer. Reagan had delivered the flowers she'd needed, the music was all set, and everything was going to go off without a hitch. Initially, Lola hadn't wanted to be involved in the actual dance itself, but one of the Arrangers had convinced her to at the last possible second. She gave Reggie a wink as she handed her flower to her, and sauntered her way back to the Arrangers side of the stadium, cheering for the girls who had once made her feel like family in a way that Acup had yet to-- aside from Nicola and Kitty.
When Reggie came running (not literally, but figuratively) to Lola post-game, she felt her heart swell up. This was what she'd always wanted, and this was where they were going to make the tide turn in what was left of their relationship. It had been so easy for them to pick up where they had left off, and Lola had absolutely no intentions of going back to the friend zone when she could tell that Reggie wanted her around just as much as she wanted to be there.
"Why?" Lola tiled her head to the side, as Reggie spoke. It wasn't the burning kiss she'd dreamed about, nor was it a declaration of love, but it was certainly not a negative reaction, so she'd take it. "Hey, listen. I know days like today totally suck for you. I mean, I know how much you want to be out there on the field. And I think that the girls wanted to show you how much they love you and miss you, but didn't know how to. We wanted to make you smile, that's all."
Lola took a deep breath before starting on her next mission. "And... I really can't tell you how much it meant to me that you came with me to see Mimi. To have her remember... well, it made me hope that maybe someday, she could remember me, too." Lola glanced down at her Vans, shoving her pockets into her skinny jeans and looking rather sheepish. "Mimi loves you, you know?" A pause-- her heart raced and her mouth moved before she could stop herself--
"I love you, too."
REGGIE CLIFFTON
Despite the fact Reggie was managing to catch her breath, she still felt a little lightheaded. All her life Reggie had been the type to give romantic gestures to those she was interested in. To go that extra distance with giving her girlfriend a note slipped in a locker, or sneaking out late into the night just to see them. They were small things, but that was when Reggie was younger. Before she was an adult and learned it was possible for love to have a bite to it. Enough of one to make Reggie keep her distance from the feeling, whether it be by choice or force. In the case of Lola, it had been a mix of both, with the added part of Lola pushing her away. At the time, Reggie couldn't blame her, and even more so, knew it was for the best. Did she think she would ever see Lola again? She hoped, but never knew. As time passed, Reggie became the emotionally detached person she had hoped to be. At least, until the last few months, which made the situation... the girl in front of her all the more complicated. Especially with the answer she gave.
"Mimi loves you, you know? I love you, too"
Reggie hadn't quite composed herself, by the time the words were out there, but as they settled into the air, Reggie's shoulders broadened and back straightened. She took a gasp of a breath in and felt some sensation wash over her that she, in the moment, couldn't exactly decipher. She felt a buzzing in her fingertips and a lump form in her throat as she choked out an, "I-I..." as she felt her panic start to rise. Reggie could handle emergencies, she could be a rock for someone, but when faced with an emotional problem she herself had to confront, those were the most daunting and impossible of tasks. Especially after having seen Lola put her heart out so blatantly, so bravely, and so beautifully, all for Reggie.
She felt her cheeks heating up and eyes were seemingly glued on Lola. Yet what came out was, "I don't know what I'm supposed to say. I can't... I don't... I'm with Harper. You know that." Reggie's eyes slipped closed as she tried to get herself in order. She was trying to make some sense of it all, "After that day, in Acup... I thought you moved on. I thought we both did. W-why... why now Lola?" Of course if Lola had done a gesture of any degree before, when Reggie wasn't with anyone to begin with, that didn't guarantee much more success. Reggie just couldn't fathom a world where Lola had pushed Reggie away, but kept holding a candle for her. Not when she could have her pick of so many others with far less complications from the get go.(edited)
LOLA ALVAREZ
Despite how difficult it was for her in that moment to remain candid and open and honest, Lola felt herself start to close in. Her arms folded around her chest, as if she were trying to hold herself together. Lola had found love and lost it in the most devastating of ways. As a child, she'd been abandoned and taken in and returned to a foster home like she was a used toy with a part missing. Nobody had been able to claim her as theirs, forever, until Mimi came along.
Even that, the love of a parent, was all too fleeting for Lola, who had little more than a decade of a real home and a real family. Despite how she'd been shunned and made to feel like an outcast by that coffee shop everyone went to, she was still searching for that sense of home, a place of belonging. And maybe it wasn't the right place or the right time, but she'd decided that Reggie was going to be the person to give it to her. Maybe Reggie wasn't the right person for it, period, but Lola was too stubborn and had put too much work into their friendship to be completely cast aside. She knew she hadn't been Reggie's only girl, but didn't she have the right to be?
"Because you said you weren't ready for a relationship." Lola replied, her voice probably more blunt than she needed it to be. "But clearly, you are now. So here I am, back for what I deserve. I love you, and I deserve to be happy."
REGGIE CLIFFTON
For every question, Reggie was getting answers, but they weren't ones that were making things any less complicated. In fact, it almost made them all the more hard to understand. Yet, how could Reggie be so surprised? When Lola started coming back around Acup in recent months, it was almost too easy to just fall back into the way things were before. It was the effortless way with Lola that had caused Reggie's fear of what could be between them that made Reggie effectively end things before they got deeper. However, feelings were impossible to escape, it seemed, no matter how many precautions were put in place to prevent them. For Reggie, love didn't cross her mind, and it hadn't in a very long time. It was like Reggie had been able to turn that off the part of herself completely to stop the word from ever being something she thought to say. Thus hearing someone so confidently and surely say they felt that for her, especially someone with a history as seemingly sordid yet sincere as theirs, was hard for her grasp. But one thing remained:
if Reggie couldn't even come to the conclusion she was in love with her girlfriend of months, she wasn't going to be able to say it to the girl she had lost once before, either.
"You can't do this, Lols. You can't. Okay? Not with me." And in truth, Reggie wasn't sure what she was exactly telling Lola she couldn't do. What she was begging her to not do for her own sanity and sake. It could of been sincere gestures from the heart, telling Reggie her feelings, being around her right now, looking at her with both her walls coming up yet sincerity hiding behind them... the options were almost endless.
Reggie took a small step forward but her body didn't follow along, knowing the distance was for the best, yet not wanting to be hurting Lola. Saying the wrong thing was almost Regina's specialty, it was more true in moments like these, but especially if it had to do with the L word. Reggie was still too terrified of the phase and the power it held, "You deserve to be happy... you deserve it so much, but I... I-I wouldn't make you happy. I can't make you happy. You could have anyone... anyone would be better than me. You have to know that." Reggie explained, the tone a little broken and soft, which matched the way her eyes looked. She didn't want to lose Lola again, but Reggie was spoken for. She had a girlfriend, one she cared about the feelings of and also didn't want to hurt. Yet, without realizing it, already had and was.
LOLA ALVAREZ
As soon as the words were out of Lola's mouth, she regretted them.
What kind of psycho told someone they loved them post a soccer game? With said someone's girlfriend in the stands? After that someone told you that she liked you, but didn't want to date you? What kind of someone still had feelings for that person afterwards?
Her eyes welled up, probably from the emotional high of dancing in front of people and the adrenaline rush of her confession, combined with the fact that she hadn't wanted to say any of this to Reggie in the first place, and well, Lola was a straight up mess in that exact moment. The two things did not have anything to do with each other. Lola hadn't done this because she wanted to tell Reggie she loved her, but it had slipped out, and there was nothing more Lola could do to take it all back. To be fair to the situation, Lola really didn't expect Reggie to say it back.
This had gone from awful to even worse in a span of seconds, and she was very quickly giving in to the flight response. Normally Lola was all about being the center of attention, but "Don't tell me what I can't do," Lola said softly, shaking her head, before she decided to take a different approach. "But you know what? You're right. What do I know about love anyway? I'm sorry that I said anything at all, really. I'm hoping we can just... forget this conversation ever happened." Lola glanced behind where Reggie was standing to where her roommate and girlfriend had been sitting. "I'll see you around, Reg."
REGGIE CLIFFTON
Reggie could tell she had said the wrong thing, but what was the right thing to say? It seemed obvious, and to many it probably was, but it just wasn't to Reggie. Not even a little. She couldn't say the words Lola wanted for many reasons, the biggest being that she couldn't even fathom the concept of love. Watching someone do it with no shame, with confidence and certainty, only to watch them fold into themselves because of Reggie's own reaction was upsetting. She cared for Lola more than she could say, which was in a way, the problem at this moment. But it made her want to be able to say something comforting. Something that would make this better for her, yet, Reggie wasn't dumb. She knew she couldn't be both the problem and the solution. That didn't mean she didn't want to try for Lola. She hadn't tried so many other times before, and it resulted in Lola going through hell alone.
"Lou, please..." Reggie started off quiet and sincerely after she heard Lola's soft words. It was the next moment that Reggie could practically see Lola pulling away as she started taking back the words that had already been hanging in the air. It didn't help that Reggie's own throat seemed to close back up. She knew Lola's heart was good, and strong, and likely had a lot of love to give. Love that anyone would be lucky to have. Love that was terrifying as just a word to Reggie, and it made her even more wide eyed to hear Lola say it again at all. With eyes glancing away and a hard swallow following as the rising sense of panic started to be evident for Reggie. Which meant this time, as Lola walked away,
Reggie did take a step forward to perhaps follow after again. Until something in her stopped her in her tracks, eyes watching Lola walk off, which seemed to happen all too often when it came to the story of Reggie Cliffton and Lola Alvarez.

sink and drown and die || SOLO
TAGGING: kitty wilde, mentions @rileduplynn , @haleyface
LOCATION: acup during botb, march 29th 2019
NOTES: kitty sees sterlynn being cute as heck and has a feel or 20 about it
There’s an uneasiness in the pit of Kitty’s stomach as she walks into Acup that night. She tells herself it’s leftovers from the shit show that was wcw-gate -- and maybe that’s partially true, but deep down she’s acutely aware it’s more than that. Walking into Dedications night she has no idea what she’s getting into and that unknown is fucking terrifying. Being besties with Rachel doesn’t make her privy to the setlists, and for all she knows Jackie’s finally hit the dedicate a diss track to your ex portion of mourning a relationship and it’s not like she’d have any room to judge -- Kitty’s taken more than her fair share of digs -- but she’s never claimed to be fair.
It’s all good though. Things with Lola are mended, she’s got plans with LJ for later, and she’s the hottest fucking Michelle Tanner cosplayer in NYC -- so she figures, whatever the night throws at her she can handle it.
(Kitty figures wrong.)
The Warblette’s open first and Kitty groans at the first song that plays, and of course, it’s Riley’s. Something sort of stupid cute that only she would deem appropriate for a heavily wlw crowd and it makes her heart twist and warm in a way that’s sort of reserved for Riley at this point. She finds herself thinking for a moment maybe this night won’t be so bad after all, but it’s the opening notes of the second song where everything starts to go wrong.
Your song? Your fucking song? Riley and Haley holding hands. Riley looking at Haley in a way she thought was reserved for her. Riley kissing Haley like she’s wanted to do it for months. How long had they even been hanging out? Five minutes?
Kitty stands there rooted to her spot gaping like an idiot -- not sure if she wants to throw up or hit something but before she can decide the song changes and it feels like some kind of sick karma that it’s dedicated to her and Nicola from Lola. It’s enough of a shift though to prompt her feet into motion.
They lead her to the bathroom where she locks the door behind her which all feels like a total cliche but she’s way too… something to care. Way too much. She has too many feelings to pinpoint just one to focus on just one, but with hands clenched at her sides, she tries.
Indignant. She’s pissed. Riley had been so weird about her not telling her about fucking Lara but here she is dedicating love songs to Haley and leaving Kitty totally in the dark.
Hurt. She’s hurt her friend would keep something so totally major from her.
She’s caught out. Confused. Embarrassed. Jealous.
Fuck. She’s jealous.
She has no right to be. Kitty isn’t fucking Riley. If she’s honest she’s not even ready to think about fucking Riley but that’s only because she’s always known when it happened it would mean something. Something important. Something she thought they’d both always felt. Something bigger than them, that deserved its own space. Something that shouldn’t be tainted by breakups or labelled rebounds or be riddled with self-doubt and a very real fear that someday Riley might say the same things Jackie is saying about her now.
Something special, and real. A well-earned reward for years of tension, and friend weirdness, and bad timing -- but now she feels stupid because this whole time she thought Riley was looking at her she was obviously looking anywhere else. And it makes sense, doesn’t it? Everyone’s always thought Riley was in love with Marley. Of course, Haley is her type.
Fucking Dedications night.
There’s a banging on the door that pulls her from her thoughts. Her own reflection in the mirror alerts her to the tears she didn’t realize she’s been crying. The banging continues.
“Christ on a cracker! Give a girl a minute to fix her face!” Kitty calls, making an unconscious decision to focus on her anger again. She fixes her makeup in the mirror and sends a quick text to LJ, all the while the banging on the door continues.
When Kitty does open the door she’s glaring, eyes wild as she physically pushes past the other woman. “Move it butter face!”
She doesn’t stick around to see the reactions to her dedication.

#WCWGATE
What’s that they say? Don’t post a #WCW unless you’re ready for the entire Internet to comment on it? This all started last week when Reggie posted a #WCW post for Kitty. The rest, as they say, is history...
Tumblr media
1. REGGIE AND KITTY
So here’s the burning question you’re dying to know: Are Reggie and Kitty fucking?
The answer? Probably not. I don’t know why Reggie decided to post a picture of Kitty as a #WCW, nor do I know why Reggie thought that at all would be a good idea. I can basically guarantee to you that Reggie is the kind of person who does stupid shit and pays the consequences later, but like... did they not realize this would be a Major Dramatic Event? Reggie... is really lacking in the brain cells department, so I can’t say I’m surprised, but...
Personally, I like the theory that Reggie and Kitty wanted to pull a Taylor and control the narratives of their breakups. Maybe this also means that they’re teaming up to make sure that everyone knows what side to root for.
If Reggie and Kitty are a legitimate thing, I don’t think it’s gonna last long. I also think Kitty and Nicola will need help paying their lease every month.
2. LOLA
Lola posted a #WCW of herself, because nothing screams humility like a picture of your ass covered by a sheer black dress that my grandmother would call “funeral chic.” Guess she was pissed that Reggie posted a #WCW of her roommate?
Did we just figured out how to break the #Roomies? Because let me tell you, if Nicola was stuck in the middle of a Lola and Kitty fight, which side do you think she’d take? Let me know in the comments below!
Sources report Lola leaving the apartment and heading over to Haley Sterling’s apartment. She didn’t leave there until morning. Also, girl, cover your ass. Save some shit for the customers who pay to watch you take your clothes off, since you’re not good for anything else.
3. THE SALTINGTONS
My favorite part about the Claringtons is how they interject themselves into shit that has literally nothing to do with them. Hunter talks about how she’s trying her hardest to be the best possible sister ever to Harper, and yet... she stirs the pot, makes a mess, and then leaves Harper to the wolves. Come on, Hunter. Doesn’t Harper deserve better than to clean up the messes you constantly make for her?
My favorite part of this is how obsessed with Reggie the Claringtons are. Because who wants to (or wants a family member to) get back together with someone who outright told you that they didn’t love you? That’s a healthy relationship right there.
UPDATE:
Hunter is like everyone’s least favorite divorced aunt at the family Christmas party who gets drunk off eggnog and keeps popping up to tell you about the hip replacement she’s getting in the new year. Except, that hip replacement is Harper’s bravery for getting on a bus and using Google Maps when her parents forgot to feed her one day. Honestly, I want to talk to the Greyhound employee who sold a one-way ticket to a ten-year-old, but that’s beside the point.
Anyway, the actual point here is that Hunter flat out admitted to the entire Internet that Harper doesn’t sic her on people, but she does her harassment all on her own. That’s right, ACup, we are all little dolls in the Hunter Clarington dollhouse, and if you so much as look at Harper the wrong way? She’ll pop your head off.
4. THIS WEEK’S #WCW
Several things happened this week for #WCW.
Harper posted a #WCW for Matt. Nobody cared, but she did it, so I’m mentioning it.
Lara, Lola, and Marley all posted #WCWs for Kitty.  Kinda wondering if Kitty paid them to do this so that the heat would come off her, but we’re not sure what level of pathetic Kitty is on.
Lara’s was worded in a way that ensured she got laid that night. Oops, did we not know Lara and Kitty were a thing? Surprise! Anyone who saw them leaving the last BOTB would know that. Kinda wonder what it’s like to have fucked both parts of #jitty, so Lara, dear, do us a favor and let us know?
Marley’s was a complete 180 from how Marley’s spoken publicly about Kitty before. See, girls? You can keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Lola’s second #WCW running read more like a fuck you to Hunter than an actual post in support of Kitty. Keep trying to be “above all the drama” with Hunter and Harper, Lola. We know you’re just dying to spill all the tea. When you do, make sure it’s public so we can enjoy it.
Riley posted a #WCW for Reggie. No idea why she did this, if I’m being honest. I can’t find a single public interaction between the two of them. Not that you need to interact with someone publicly in order to be friends with them, but it came out of nowhere. My best guess? Riley got jealous that Marley posted a #WCW for Kitty, so she decided to post one for Reggie. I don’t think there’s anything else gossip or noteworthy about this, but that’s all I’ve got. Though, of course, there is the idea that Riley took major pity on all the heat Reggie took last week and gave her a #WCW as a “you tried” gold star, or maybe Riley’s trying to shoot her shot with Reggie since Haley ditched her. Who knows. Tell me your theories in the comments below!
