Hey girl, I gotta ask. While I know you’ll always be Leyton, have you learned to tolerate Br*cas with each rewatch you do? Or do you find they get worse for you with every rewatch? I started my OTH rewatch a few days. I’m still very much for Leyton, but I gotta say; I suddenly don’t hate Br*cas anymore nor do I hate Br**ke either. I kinda don’t mind them? But I’m still Leyton, though.

oh for me it gets worse lmfao cuz the more i rewatch the show the more i realize how fucking stupid the set up for them in season 2 is. like literally out of the blue they have nathan insinuating lucas has been in love with brooke still this whole time when it makes absolutely no sense at that point in the show and its all just very lazy. season 2, while overall not as bad as people make it out to be, is definitely torture from a shipping perspective

but honestly i just kinda skip over brucas scenes anyway when i rewatch. thats definitely my time to get up and go do something else

hitchcokian | a 911 season 7 coda. buck calls Tommy right after he runs into Kim. (this one is okay, but i fear i wasted the title "hitchcockian" on this when it would be cool do a genre-bending thing. idk)

echoes | 911 Lone Star Season 1. Carlos waits in the hospital after TK is shot and really talks to the 126 for the first time.

why | 911 Lone Star. the silliest thing i've ever written, and it's all @lemonlyman-dotcom's fault. Carlos buys Lou II pajamas and then realizes he has to put the pajamas ... on Lou II and regrets every decision that led him there.

halted beginnings | 911 Lone Star. post-engagement. Carlos is in love. But he's forgotten about something.

5. Do you respond to comments? I do, although I think im kinda behind on doing so? I do forget to sometimes.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i think it's a tie between halted beginnings (linked above) and fundamental. they are essentially sister stories, with fundamental being the meta-verison of halted beginnings. they both tackle Carlos forgetting about Iris when he says yes to TK's proposal. halted beginnings is more of a character introspection into how, in the moment, Carlos might have forgotten about Iris. fundamental takes the meta-approach that Carlos/Iris were never planned from the beginning and is written as if Carlos, the character from season 1-3, knows someone else is rewriting his history (the writer, or "Tim," as I called him in the annotations lol). Both fics end on a heavy note, with Carlos either putting off telling TK (halted beginnings) or a rewritten version of Carlos taking over Seasons 1-3 Carlos (fundamental).

7. What is the fic your wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably "why" (linked above). TK and Lou II in matching pajamas ... couldn't be better!

I haven't, and I hope it stays that way.

peace | a 911 Lone Star fic that is actually pretty angsty too, haha. it's very short, but I was stretching some more poetic writing muscles I hadnt used in a long time. This is Carlos, after the breakup

Staring at ghosts | my newest one, 911, bucktommy. It's a wip, but I really love the first chapter, and I'm really excited about the rest of it I have outlined and partly written. Buck and Tommy are still in the fairly early stages of their relationship, and Buck doesn't really know how to open up when he starts having dreams about the lightning strike.

hello hello!! I'm doing pretty alright now, feeling a lot better than I was this past week :) and that's so sweet of you to say, it's so reassuring knowing I have so many of you guys willing to read my silly stories no matter which fandom they're about (or even if they're original)

and yes I do have some recs!

I made a post about two months ago now talking about books I'd read that I really enjoyed so there'll be some crossover here but also some new ones I've read since then

one of my new favorite novels is The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. it's a heavy fantasy story following 4 different intertwining POVs. the fantasy world itself is made up of several different countries all inspired by various real world cultures that's not just limited to western europe which is incredibly refreshing. the world itself is incredibly fleshed out and interesting, the characters are all very diverse and have so much depth, and there's also a very beautiful sapphic romance <3 I'm reading the prequel to priory right now and I'm also loving it so far

another book I really enjoyed is actually a duology—The Radiant Emperor series by Shelley Parker-Chan. the first book in the series is She Who Became the Sun which I really enjoyed, however the sequel book He Who Drowned the World is the one that absolutely blew me away. just letting you know in case you're not comfortable with it, both books contain sex and some graphic violence. the story is set in 14th century China when it was ruled by the Mongols, and it's an incredibly well done queer retelling/fictionalization of the rise of Zhu Yuanzhang, the Emperor who ushered in the Ming dynasty. the text engages with so many themes of the expectations of masculinity and femininity and how they restrict people, and really dives into gender expression and how it can be wielded in different ways. again the first one was really enjoyable, but the second one was on a whole other level and I'm still reeling over how good it was and how much it emotionally hurt me.

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone - I know we all heard about this one thanks to the iconic bigolas dickolas wolfwood on twitter but also they were so right about this book. it's gorgeously written. the book itself is mostly written as letters exchanged between two women who are time traveling agents on opposing sides of a war for who controls the timelines. it's a beautiful love story, it's sci fi but with a heavy bend towards spec fic which I personally really like, the world concepts are incredibly fascinating, and it plays around with time travel in a very intriguing way. it's a very short book so it's an easy one to burn through. I checked this one out from my library but I'm highkey tempted to go to a bookstore and actually buy a physical copy for myself just because there were so many gorgeous lines I want to highlight

So for the obvious – I favour third person (which I knew), and I’m a bit heavier on female POVs than I anticipated (which I’m pleased with, actually). Also very Jade-heavy, and since I’m already 50% of the Jade/Eli tag on AO3, that doesn’t exactly shock me.

(It’s not immediately obvious for all of them, but every single one of these is Weevil-heavy, which is the most unshocking thing possible. I think I have exactly one VM fic in progress where he’s not central to the entire premise, and even there he’s still majorly present.)

Other than that, the closest thing to a trend that I can pick up is that apparently I like opening sentences that feel either dynamic or relatable? Satisfaction and the post-canon zombie fic both have the more classic hook of raising questions about what’s going on, and most of the JEC fics as well as Carmen’s WCS entry are an attempt to jump you right into the characters’ heads or at least their social reality. Whereas the fusion AUs seem to establish their crossover-fandom immediately (THG with an immediate reference to a well known part of that universe, and COM by heavily echoing Briar’s introductory sentence). I don’t know if I did it on purpose, but I like it, so I’ll have to see how much/if that holds true for the other ones in the series. (The BTVS and Animorphs ones are harder, because they involve discovering something, but the summary of the latter will definitely start with My name is Veronica…, and the 1-800-WHERE-R-U one starts with a direct shout-out.)

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently, LOTR, Silmarillion, Narnia, and Timeless. I'd like to get back to writing Turn fics, though. I have a couple ideas for oneshots that have been rattling around in my brain.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

winter-touched, frost-bitten (Spinning Silver, T, Miryem/the Staryk Lord, 1.1k): A missing scene in which Miryem strikes a new bargain with the Staryk Lord.

As the Hare Flees Before the Wolf (Silmarillion, T, Eöl & Celegorm, 1.8k): Curufin is not the only son of Fëanor Eöl meets upon the plains of Himlad. Or, Eöl meets Celegorm while pursuing Aredhel and Maeglin, and things go very badly for him.

Here at Journey's End (LOTR, G, Frodo & Legolas, 1.6k): They stay for those they love.

West, West Away (LOTR, G, Sam & Thranduil, 3.6k): Sam meets an unlikely kindred spirit on the journey West.

and I will love with urgency, but not with haste (Silmarillion, T, Andreth/Aegnor, 3.1k): A summer evening spent in a glade near the shores of the Aeluin.

5. Do you respond to comments? Yep! It may take me a while, but I always do. The only exceptions are for cryptic comments that I don't understand and have no idea what to reply with.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Lol. Lmao, even. At least half of my fics are nothing but angst. So...*spins wheel* Let's go with darkness lies on the foaming waves between us (LOTR, G, Arwen & Celebrían & Elwing, 1k), in which Arwen shares the news of her choice with her mother.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I do actually have a couple fics that would qualify for this (shocking, I know), but I have a special place in my heart for And There Make a Garden (LOTR, G, Éowyn, <1k). Éowyn finally being happy and content is everything to me.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not since I returned to fandom in 2020 and started posting on AO3 (unless some of those aforementioned cryptic comments are badly worded hate). But I did get the occasional hateful comment back when I posted on FFN.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Occasionally and it's very vanilla.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Never written one.

That, and I'm sure that if I were to pick it up again, I'd want to tear it apart and fix it up because it was one of the first fics I started writing after a years-long break from fic writing, and I'm certain I'd be embarrassed by parts of it now. And doing heavy editing like that feels overwhelming right now.

16. What are your writing strengths? Usually characterization and description, but I've been having trouble with my descriptions lately, and in a very strange twist, dialogue has—for the first time ever—been easier for me.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Plots. You will be getting no 100k+ longfics from me. Sorry. Oneshots or bust.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I only use other languages when writing Tolkien fic and do so sparingly and always with translations in the author notes. All phrases are yoinked from RealElvish.net because I can't be assed to put Elvish sentences together myself. Sorry JRRT.

19. First fandom you wrote for? LOTR. A couple of ancient fics that have never and will never see the light of day.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? It changes by the day, but I am very fond of On These Hither Shores (LOTR, G, Frodo & Boromir, 3.2k). It took a while to come together, but I'm so happy with how it turned out and that I finally achieved my goal of writing Frodo and Boromir getting to know each other before everything went to hell in a handbasket.

That's a fic that i think will forever be my favorite because it's not only something that i think needed to be explored about Adrien but because it's something i deeply resonate and relate about him. 1) How many works do you have on AO3?: i have 270 on AO3, but i know that that is wildly inaccurate because for a while i wasn't crossposting my tumblr fics on there and i haven't taken the time to rectify that 😂 someday i'll go through and count my fics on here again because i'm overdue for that lmao

7) What's a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?: oooo i know i write a lot of angst but i have a lot of fluff for all of my fandoms too. i think that one of my happiest fics is Just One Week. i feel like that's a generally fluffy fic from top to bottom with the exception of a few moments

8) Do you get hate on fics?: not really! i think it helps that these days i tend to write for smaller fandoms.

9) Do you write smut?: i do! for the longest time i didn't, or i'd try to avoid it like the plague. it's still not my strongest suit or necessarily my preference but i've gotten more comfortable writing it as time has gone on

18) Thoughts on dialogue in another language?: i've written multiple fics that have dialogue in Spanish! it's fun and a bit of a challenge but i very much enjoy it. i have plans for an OC who also speaks in sign language along with English and Spanish. i think that's going to be more challenging as well but i look forward to it!

19) First fandom you wrote in?: back in my quizilla days (RIP to a legend) i was biiiiiig into writing bandfic. however, i'd say that once i hit got towards the end of middle school and really got into writing fanfic, my first fics were Marvel, followed by Kingsman a handful of years later!

And I love to hide loads of internal references and wordplay in what I write, so when people pick up on them, I get so excited! I also like to hear how people are thinking about characters and if anything's affected them!

Definitely Heart Strings gah. Fire Made Flesh may rival it when it's done tho, since it still is the story of the Dance.

deserving has a pretty happy ending, I think- more satisfying than the canon one, if I do say so myself.

A couple times, all on Helaemond fics. But that's what you get in such a big fandom, I'd never written for such a conflict heavy fandom before.

No- tbh I'm not sure I would be good at it. I'm open to trying, though, and I'm always willing to share ideas.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

I've never written for them, only a poem in high school, but Hector and Andromache from the Iliad. I've just read the Emily Wilson translation and...they hurt me but I've always loved them.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Probably Millennia. I had such plans for them, but TVD burned bright and fast as a fandom for me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I love my writing voice, I think I change my style up a lot depending on the piece itself, but I always have to like the rhythm of it in my head before I'm good with it. I think I'm fairly good at worldbuilding too, though of course with that some things are weighed with more interest than others.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably increasing tension. I always wanna jump into the resolution and the confrontation! But then I'm like, noooo I gotta provide context and I have to work backwards. ugh.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Anyone who's read me probably knows I love to do it! Only conlangs though, with a natural language that's a little beyond me since there is an actual sense of what "feels right." But I love me some HV dialogue, it gives me such a cool

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Right now it's a tie between dropping glasses just to hear them break and delicate in every way but one. They're not my epics but I think I just wrote some of my most beautiful language in them.

Why don't you ship it?

Because I honestly just dislike crossovers of any kind. It's been a thing for me in every fandom I've ever been in. Not for me 🤷‍♂️

What would have made you like it?

Yeah, given the whole I don't enjoy crossovers thing, there probably isn't anything that would make me like it.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Sure! I can totally understand how people started doing crossovers between miraculous and DC. I've seen some of miraculous (I'm just really really terrible at watching TV) and I think the characters are really amazing, and the way the world would blend with the DC universe has a lot of potential for interesting stories. I honestly don't even have anything negative to say about it, it's just not my thing.

Timkon: Ship It

What made you ship it?

I think it was another one that the person who suggested jayroy suggested to me? And then also everything that was ever written by Ididloveyou_once.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

ugh I love the enemies to friends to lovers. Also the sunshine one and the stoic one trope. And also, because I'm me, I love the tragedy of it. I just adore the whole thing where Kon sacrifices himself and Tim tries to get him back and ends up giving up because it's for the best and then he gets him back anyways but nothing is the same because Kon's death was something that happened to Tim. But Kon loves him anyways because he's still Tim and 😭😭😭 I'm making myself emotional. Alexa, play Hyacinthus by Aidoneus. (everyone fucking listen to that song or at least read the lyrics if you ship Timkon okay? @ me when you cry)

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Not necessarily. But I have an opinion that I don't see discussed a lot which is that I think Kon would feel really, really conflicted about the cloning thing. It's important to point out that this idea DOES NOT WORK in most fics where Timkon is endgame, so I get why it doesn't come up a lot, but like. he'd be so offended because if it had worked, that clone was going to be an individual person, not a copy of him. And after everything he's been through in regards to his identity, Tim should understand that. He should have known that. But also, he can't even really be mad because 1) Tim didn't actually go through with it, and 2) Tim was literally not in his right mind at the time. But I also think Kon is the kind of person who wouldn't be able to rationalize his anger away successfully, so I feel like he'd end up leaping down Tim's throat a lot of the time instead of just being angry at him, because even with all of his feelings about it, he's not just going to quit on Tim. I don't know, I just think it would be really deeply upsetting if anyone ever told Kon more than "Tim tried to bring you back to life." It would put a really heavy strain on their relationship.

Yeah honestly, Timkon is my number one ship right after Jaytim. I love them so much. I have so many thoughts about them and also a few fic ideas rotting in my drafts that maybe I'll post someday (but probably not cause then I'll have to stop looking at jaytim for five seconds)

Azaka!

First impression: Until reaching the 6th movie on my first watch of KnK, I...actually thought she was kind of annoying, LMAO. Like, I think what put me off from her a little bit at first were the scenes where she gets snippy at Shiki for "stealing" Mikiya and whatnot and the fact her character type being kind of a brocon didn't appeal to me.

Impression now: That said, my opinion of her has changed over the past few years, so I like her now despite some of her flaws and whatnot! Just kinda wish that the 6th movie's writing wasn't kind of clumsy with showing her character depth at times...

Favorite moment: That tiny little blink-and-you-miss-it scene where she helped out Fujino during the 6th movie was cute. It's mostly a tie between that and the one where she goes kinda balls to the wall fighting that one creature to save Misaya Ouji!

Idea for a story: There's like a couple, but they're more crossover-based? Like, one of them is a KnK x KnB sidestory, where Misaya confronts her on why Azaka isn't stopping Fujino from aiding KiriDai (I think it might have a bit of a philosophical thing, but I'm still unsure about the direction where it might go hghhghg).

Unpopular opinion: What even is an unpopular opinion in a fandom this small, lmfao...uhh, I think she could get along with Hanamiya from KnB (as friends) despite their differences, ig ig

Favorite relationship: FUJINO...ngl, I do want to see more of that and her relationships with the other Reien Academy Girls too. I know there's that one untranslated novel, but that isn't enough for me 😭

Favorite headcanon: I'd like to think that Fujino's music tastes (which of in itself is also a headcanon) might have rubbed off on her a little, so if she ever feels really annoyed with Shiki, she turns on some heavy metal before blasting a plushie of her HAHAH. Touko finds this hilarious, for the occasions where she's also in the office with Azaka.

About Me and FAQ

I'm Kim or Angel--the author behind both GoldenEyesObsession (GEO) and AngelSelene (AS) on Ao3. I'm a fandom old with an obsession for long-haired pretty boys, crossovers, and a compulsion to make things make sense. I've been writing for almost 30 years at this point--it has always been a passion of mine, and I'm delighted to share it with people.

I write a lot of things that people find upsetting, I am extremely pro-fiction, pro-darkfic, and anti-censorship, and I will block aggressively. If I see any nonsense about "these ships are not okay," I will block you. If you don't like me or my content, the back and block buttons are right there. If you can't play nice, I will do it for you.

What's the difference between the accounts?

AngelSelene is my more mainstream account (and my main blog is under the name too, though the blog is really anything that interests or amuses me). It tends to focus more on healthy relationships and plot-heavy crossovers (don't look at me--I said tends). Look for the #angiewrote tag for posts about what I'm working on for AS.

GoldenEyesObsession is the Problematic™️account. There you're going to find a lot of dubious consent (at best), twisted relationships, and a lot of kinky tropes that are common squicks and triggers. Also, there's a lot of My Hero Academia on GEO, and I'm particularly known for writing DabiShou (thus the banner). Look for the #kimerawrote tag for posts about what I'm working on for GEO.

Why the two accounts?

Short answer? Embarrassment and discomfort with the kind of smut I was writing originally.

Long answer? Still those two, but it probably helps to understand that I started posting on Ao3 with 2 very, very different fics. First was Stand Without Flinching (the Gundam Wing/MCU crossover that I consider my magnum opus), and the second was GEO's Prepared to Sacrifice, which is original and super self-indulgent pure problematic smut. I just didn't think those two audiences had a lot of crossover, and I didn't want to shove Prepared in the face of Stand readers. Also, when Prepared absolutely crushed Stand's statistical performance, it was definitely a little disheartening. Having those two fics on separate accounts to keep me from comparing their stats directly really helped. (I don't have as much of an issue with it anymore, but when they were the only fics on my account, it was... frustrating). So I set up GEO and moved Prepared from anon to it.

Why the sideblog?

Because I'm bad at using my main blog to talk about my writing, I want a place to bitch about how my fics are misbehaving (or maybe share them when I'm excited), and... also I'm totally procrastinating on actually writing a chapter I'm supposed to post today. Procrastinating about writing with writing something else? Couldn't be me... 😅

Can I support your writing?

I'm flattered, but this is truly my hobby, and I'm fortunate enough that I do not need anyone to help support me. I don't really have any plans to publish anything original at this time (if that changes, I'll update this), so if you want to support me, the best way to do so is with comments and sharing my work.

Do you take commissions/requests?

At this time, no to both. I have that knee-jerk reaction to the moment I have to do something (like because someone paid me to do it), it's the last thing I want to do. If this blog is successful, I may open prompts at some point, but currently, no, I don't take requests.

I have been so sick and forgotten to respond to this lol... ok let's see:

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

It'd probably have to be "we'll never have problems again". I love my Marwa series in general and that one focuses the most on Marwa and her character development. It was just really fun to take this incredibly minor background character and imagine a whole story for her set in the silly sitcom universe I know and love.

(I also love "if you ever need a favor in twenty years, call a camp kvetcher girl" which is my CXG/Community crossover, but that has less of an audience due to it being a crossover of two shows that are both no longer airing)

6. Favorite title you used

Obviously I loved using Crazy Ex-Girlfriend song titles a bunch loooool so probably just all my CXG song title fics. I also thought "Good Night, Staten Island, and Good Mental Health" was a fun way to combine the two fandoms in that crossover. Oh and I liked using a Starkid song lyric for "now my only wish is that our plots may intertwine". Idk can't decide

17. Your favorite character to write this year?

Oh I can't decide... Probably Nadja because she's just such a treat to write. She also showed up in my fics the most.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Oh I have a huge ego when it comes to my writing and I wrote 12 fics this year so there's not a chance I'd be able to choose that... I did really love the scene in "i'm the villain in my own story" where Laszlo comforts Guillermo after his breakup with Freddie- it was maybe a bit more serious than the tone of the show merits but I put a lot of my own feelings into that and it was interesting to explore the relationship between those two characters. Same deal with the passage in "we'll never have problems again" where Marwa ruminates on what she learned from her mother and father- again, too serious for the show, but I also borrowed from thoughts about my own family. I guess it's short enough to share here:

Her mother, during these evenings, would shuffle back and forth from the kitchen, carrying hot and heavy plates of rice and kebab, silver bowls of nuts and fresh fruit. She always smiled, and when Marwa’s father asked her to sit down a while and listen to his stories, she would always oblige, lounging peacefully and laughing along to his jokes. At night, though, once everyone was asleep, she became something else. Marwa had seen it once, when she’d gotten up in the middle of the night and thought to get herself a glass of water, and seen her mother, skirts hiked up and hair tied away from her face, on her hands and knees scrubbing the floor with a ferocity Marwa never would have guessed of her gentle, people-pleasing mother. Then she’d stopped, wiping her forehead, and Marwa had gotten a glimpse, for just a moment, of her face- tired, worn, bitter.

Just as she listened to her father’s stories and riddles, she listened to this lesson, too.

and in terms of funny passages, this one from "the one with the secondhand embarrassment" is probably my favorite:

“When did you meet this new guy?” Nandor said. “Why haven’t you told me about him? I thought friends tell each other these things.”

“I haven’t really told anyone,” Guillermo said. “It’s still sort of new, I met him in London, so I haven’t even told my mom. I mean, she’s still sort of shaky about the gay stuff- I do want to tell her, though, eventually- But I guess if I’m going to tell anyone first, I’m glad it’s you guys. At the end of the day, you really are like my family-”

“Yeah, great, who gives a shit,” Laszlo said. “How big is his package? Stop me when I reach it.”

He started spreading his hands apart.

Guillermo sighed.

“I actually should probably go check on Colin,” he said. “Thanks for, uh. Being so supportive, I guess.”

He headed out of the room. Laszlo, whose hands had now extended to about a yard apart, raised his eyebrows.

“The chap’s got quite an impressive wang,” he said.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Fuck You, Gallagher. I don’t usually write angsty endings but for some reason this one just happened. Ian isn’t in it, it’s just Mickey dealing with him leaving and having dark feelings about it.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

99.9% of my stuff has a happy ending. I write to make myself happy so I tend to sway hard into the fluff category. If I had to choose I would say Weightless - heavy on the angst to start then just gets happier and happier.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I haven’t so far but wouldn’t rule it out.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Oh god yeah. There was the person who called me a creep for writing incest, that was fun. Especially since there was zero actual incest. Also someone insists on reading all my stuff just to then comment on all of the tiny things I got wrong, like how I described someone’s eye colour. 🤷‍♀️

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do, awkwardly. I try not to over-write it and I really, really try to avoid cringy names for body parts.

I don’t think so.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! A couple have been translated into Russian, which is really cool.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, not yet. Again I wouldn’t rule it out but just haven’t really got those kinds of relationships to do something like that.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Gallavich, without a moment of hesitation. The complexity, the passion, the growth, the love. It’s all there. We just need fanfic to fix what the writers couldn’t do justice.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

My only WIP right now is Quatervois but I will finish it. I still love it but I’m not in the place I need or want to be in to write so it’s on the back burner until I feel better. I’m not going to rush out some half-arsed chapters just to say I finished it.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I honestly don’t know, I’ve never really paid attention to it on a technical level and nobody has ever critiqued it. Answers on a postcard guys!

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Again, I’m not really a technical writer where I follow the rules. I think an English Language puritan would have a mini-meltdown at some of my stuff. I put commas where there should be colons etc. But I write for me and I post it for others to read if they want to so I don’t get too hung up on it.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

It’s a tricky one. Every language I’ve ever learned has always had very obvious differences between written and spoken language so literal translations can lead you astray, but for the most part if it’s clear what you’re trying to get at and it doesn’t upset the flow of the story then go for it.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter. I loved it at the time but given more recent changes to my feelings for JKR I doubt I will revisit.

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

Steddie (Steve/Eddie) - the show did just enough to make their pairing an ambiguous possibility so that’s enough for me to want to jump on it and run wild with it!

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

That’s so hard to answer. It’s very dependent on my mood. I’m quite proud of The Words He Doesn’t Say because it’s the first time I’ve done a multi-chap from an outsider POV. It was a challenge I enjoyed and the end result wasn’t awful. And even though I have no experience of the legal process I enjoyed writing Burden of Proof. The one that gave me the most happy feels was Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot, a fluffy reunion fic with lots of domesticity. Sooo, you asked for one and you got three!!

18. Take a moment to talk about your favorite ship.

My favorite dynamic between two characters is Style!! I've always been a sucker for best friends to lovers and I love how devoted these two are together, as well as how much they've been through and how much they need each other- It's not the healthiest dynamic in that regard, their codependence isn't always the best, but I think that's part of the fun of the ship and I like to think as they get older, they work out a lot of their issues and become a lot healthier with time (Though they're about at the level of your average couple now, no relationship is perfect). I also really like how easy it is to take Stan and Kyle and put them in any number of dynamics or situations or AUs- I always tend to stick with them knowing each other since childhood personally but they work work well as a couple that just met and fell in love as well, and there's loads you can do with both of those as well as the canon material from the show.

My favorite ship of all has to be Stendylenny. It's a super rare poly ship that I actually hadn't seen before my friends and I started shipping it, but I've seen it begin to spread slightly which makes me EXTREMELY happy! It's a poly between Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Wendy. I really love all of them shipped one on one so putting them all together just makes sense for me!! I could talk about this ship a lot but I don't even know where to start, it's just fun imagining the different scenarios that got these four together, and I feel like it could happen pretty easily. I think ships with both Wendy and Kenny are severely underrated in this fandom and I also just really like good old fashion style and stendy ofc. There's just a really good mix of dynamics with the four of them.

21. Do you have a favorite adult? If so, who?

Sheila Broflovski for sure. She is, in my opinion, the best parent in the show besides side character parents who haven't existed long enough to be in a conflict, and is just a generally good person. I can see why characters in the show are annoyed by her actions and how she can be overbearing and pushy, but she's a fantastic mom who listens closely to her sons and really tries to do what's best for them, as well as what's best for others around her. She's also shown to be fairly kind to other people even if she has her moments, and is honest and fair to her friends (She needs better ones). She also doesn't take shit from almost anyone.

A big part of this from me might be projection because my mom is pretty similar to her (Heavy jersey accent and all) but fuck it IDC Sheila best adult.

I also like Mr. Garrison a lot but only bc he's funny af

23. What was the first piece of content you created for the South Park fandom?

So a while back, three or four years ago, my friend Starby was into South Park. I was not. I, in fact, happened to sort of,, judge her for her interests, even if I was playful about it. Anyway, one day I was trying to include them in this one RP that was a cartoon crossover, except all of the characters were cats (It's a bizarre concept but my RPs tend to be a little crazier and more self indulgent than the stuff I post) and they wanted to roleplay as Butters since he's her favorite. So my first actual South Park fan work that I ever created is this really old, ugly design for him as a cat that I completely forgot about until about a week ago:

Honestly, he never thought he would ever be in this position.

Him? The Ultimate Biker Gang Leader? Receiving a constant supply of affection?

Ridiculous. Improbable. Impossible.

Oh, but don’t get me wrong. It’s not like he doesn’t enjoy the attention. But after he accidentally shouted at you in embarrassment when you complimented his eyes, reflexively crushed a pencil and consequently showered you with the splintered wood when you ambushed him with a hug, and fled from the premises after you innocuously offered to massage his shoulders… the idea of you sticking around in his life seemed unfeasible.

But here you are.

It doesn’t take him long to grow accustomed to the attentiveness and devotion you always treat him with.

“So, we should close off this area and tighten our control around this neighborhood. Oh, and maybe--”

“Uh, sir? What’s… um… What’s..?” One of his men tentatively pointed to where you were clinging to Mondo’s back, legs constricted around his waist and arms looped around his neck, blinking blankly at the man standing before you.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Mondo didn’t even flinch. “Anyway, as I was saying--”

Mondo really doesn’t mind when you cling to him in public. In fact, he appreciates the warmth of your body and the unexpected sense of security that holding your hand gives him.

But, he starts to draw the line when you stand in front of him while he’s sitting, smiling sweetly as you squish his cheeks and giggle about how adorable he is. He always flushes a florid shade and averts his eyes from yours. He would never tell you, but whenever you do that, he feels so defenseless, something that the rest of his crew should never know about.

That’s why he tells you to keep such intimate actions private. When you two are alone, you can squish his cheeks and pepper his face with kisses as often as you want. You understand this, and you’re always ecstatic whenever you walk in on him somewhere he’s alone.

You’re so short he loves it omg.

He thinks that watching you struggle to reach his face with your lips is so funny. He will often poke fun at you by either pretending to not see you or lifting his chin even higher. When you finally give up and try to storm away with a huff, he captures you in his arms and lifts you off the ground while you grumble indignantly.

Okay, but when you press yourself against him and wrap yourself in the loose fabric of his jacket so that it covers both of you? BITCHHH he melts.

Due to your short stature, you often find yourself seated upon his shoulders. At first, Mondo was taunted by his friends for quote-on-quote “having his head buried between your thighs,” but Mondo easily dismissed their teasing. He knew that your intentions were nothing less than pure…

Even if he initially was nervous and sweaty at the idea of being so… so close to you.

Mondo always treated you as if you were made of glass. Since you’re so small and he’s so muscular and tall, he always feared that a single bump or scratch would absolutely eviscerate your bones and pulverize your internal organs. For a while, he had been worried that he would forget about his own strength and accidentally hurt you. So, it did take him a little longer to reciprocate your affectionate.

That being said, he nearly flipped his shit when you nonchalantly asked him to try sitting in your lap. His brain was pumping out ideas at ninety miles an hour, but his lips could only communicate half of them, leaving him stuttering and nearly choking on his saliva. He was certain that he would crush your body beyond recognition if he tried.

No way. No. No. Absolutely not.

He’s cool with having you seated on his lap, though. In fact, he even encourages it. Having such a stunning gem to show off to his men during meetings stokes the flames of confidence within him, often resulting in a shit-eating grin and a protective hand on your shoulder or around your waist.

You get unlimited access to Mondo with his hair down, you lucky bitch.

You’re absolutely bewitched with how soft his hair is as it slips through your fingers like rivulets of water, the opposite of how it feels when it’s gelled into his usual hairstyle. You spend a lot of time combing your fingers through his hair and lightly scratching his scalp. Mondo finds it extremely relaxing, and he often comes to you whenever he has a headache or needs an extra push that will lull him to sleep.

Before you appeared in his life, he had never been subjected to genuine love and sentiment. In his world, it was either surpass or be surpassed. Mercy was not an option, and competition was all he knew. As a result, he views everyone around him as inferior and lesser creatures.

When you first started to show kindness to him, he thought that you were merely pitying him because he spent so much time by himself. This led to him holding you at an icy distance and shooting scathing remarks in your direction.

However, you were steadfast in your determination to make Byakuya a part of your life. It took some time, but soon enough, you had earned a place in his heart.

He wished that he didn’t know how it was possible for you to have become such an essential part of his life, but he did. No matter how many times he told you that you were annoying, a distraction, or disgusting, it was clear that you were absolutely unaffected by it. You knew that his dislike of you wasn’t personal. Your tenacity is what caused his harsh words to dissipate in his throat and him to surrender to the prospect of developing a relationship with you. 

You were strong, and he understood that now.

It definitely takes him a long time to accept your clingy nature, and even then, he sometimes feels suffocated by the surplus of affection.

It doesn’t mean that he completely brushes you off. It just means that you have to be more sparing with your ministrations.

He sees nothing wrong with allowing you a quick hug or to hold his hand in public. If anyone says anything about it, he will deadass act like nothing is happening. He knows that if he acknowledges it, the chances of him becoming openly flustered will skyrocket.

He would never be able to live it down.

Anything else you would like to do to him, he prefers to keep it private.

Wow, that sounds suggestive.

Whatever, let’s proceed.

He’ll gripe and complain about you being heavy, but he never pushes you off or directly tells you to get off when you burrow your way beneath his arm and curl into his side while he reads. He’ll just sigh and settle his arm around you with the tiniest, most discreet smile.

He can’t help but chuckle to himself when you remove his glasses so that you can wear them instead. His chuckle flourishes into a genuine laugh when you promptly yank them off, your stomach churning in protest of your warped vision.

When you hold his hand in private, you pay a lot of attention to his fingers. You toy with them, marveling at how strong they are despite their slender appearance.

So, kisses are a thing.

“What was that?”

“Uh, a kiss.”

“Revolting… Do it again.”

A common thing, actually.

You plant kisses everywhere that you can: his fingertips, his cheeks, his shoulders, the back of his hand, his nose. He never fails to blush red as a rose, often pulling away and pressing the back of his hand to his mouth.

If you want him to complain in mock disgust, press a sloppy, prolonged kiss right in the center of his forehead.

If you want him to squirm, brush the softest kiss you can manage to either his collarbone or the shell of his ear. Biiiitchhhh…

ANYWAY, THAT’S NOT THE POINT--

Surprise, surprise. He loves poking fun at your height. How shocking. How absolutely unbelievable.

Like Mondo, he finds amusement in watching you balance on your tiptoes as you try to kiss him. You, however, combat his devious snickering by seizing his crossover tie and yanking him down to your height, catching him off guard. Then, all he can do is inwardly grumble about his blunder while you press a kiss to the corner of his lips

He once actually sat on you to trap you after you tried (and failed) to tickle him. He wasn’t expecting you to laugh gleefully and wrap your arms around his waist to anchor him to you. Since you were enjoying what he deemed a punishment, it was no longer pleasurable for him. He finds it embarrassing to voluntarily sit on anyone’s lap--let alone the lap of someone remarkably smaller than him. He sees it as a role of submission. Need I explain more?

He won’t complain if you sit on his, though. Well, I lied. This bitch complains about everything. It’s more like… he won’t reject you if you end up on his lap.

But about a half hour into whatever the hell this “cuddling” thing is, Byakuya discovers that the combination of your weight and body heat is an interesting catalyst for the onslaught of fatigue that he’s been procrastinating for the longest time.

You happen to doze off first. But upon awakening, you notice that Byakuya’s head is resting against yours, his arms loosely wrapped around your waist. His book is closed beside him.

Ngl, you thought he was actually going to rock your shit the first time you squished his cheeks. His frosty glare was enough to make you draw back in shock, but it soon disappeared, accompanied by a sigh from him.

“You have one more opportunity to do that. Don’t waste it.”

Oh, you definitely don’t.

That one inch of height makes him feel so powerful omfg.

Because of his job, he would rather keep any kind of affection hidden behind closed doors. The only people who he would let PDA slide around are those in his immediate circle, like his family, Peko, and whoever else serves directly under him.

He just wants to keep you safe, and he feels that the best way to do that is to not make it known that he has a soft spot for you.

You smile at the way his aloof, callous demeanor switches to a gentler, more amicable one when he sees you waiting for him to finish whatever job he’s been tasked with. His perpetual scowl melts away, the wrinkles of irritation blemishing his forehead smooth, and his distrusting, narrowed eyes round with an almost childlike, innocent delight.

You enjoy the latter side of him so much that it isn’t uncommon for you to cling to his waist and drop like dead weight, forcing him to drag you with him across the floor if he wants to return to work.

“Hiko… You can’t leave..!” You whine. “I’ll miss you..!”

“I’m sorry…” He huffs, taking another step while you’re dragged behind him like some ragdoll. “But I have things I need to take care of!”

You eventually sink into a heap on the floor when he reaches the door, making a half-hearted attempt to hold on to his ankles.

He chuckles and squats down in front of you. “I’ll be back later.” You sit up and sharply turn your head away with a pout. He gently yet firmly seizes your chin between his thumb and forefinger, directing you to look at him. “Promise.” His eyes are gentle, but you know he’s serious. You reluctantly release him.

“Okay,” you mumble. “Please, be safe.”

You know the, “When I was your age…” thing?

Yeah, Fuyuhiko does that shit. But, he does, “When I was your height…” instead.

He really likes the feeling of having you on his lap. It makes him feel like he’s actually capable of offering security to someone. Bonus points if you straddle his lap and hug him close in return, resting your chin on his shoulder.

Back-hugs? Back-hugs.

The first time you snuck up on him and embraced him from behind, he almost knocked you tf out. But over time, he’s gotten used to it. That doesn’t mean you don’t manage to catch him off guard from time to time. Feeling him jolt and hearing him yelp in shock when you wrap your arms around his waist never fails to make you laugh. One time, you laughed so hard that your legs gave out and you tumbled to the ground, accidentally dragging him with you.

Whenever he’s stressed, kisses always seem to be the cure. Sprinkled across his cheeks, tracing the edge of his jaw, following the shell of his ear, pressed to his fingertips--you name it. Whatever you have to offer, he’s more than happy to let you have your way and shower him with love.

You pay special attention to his freckles. Whenever he’s had a taxing day, you vow to kiss each and every freckle on his face. When you’re lulling him to sleep with his head in your lap, you smooth a feather-light fingertip over his cheeks, playing connect-the-dots with his freckles.

But there are just some days where he needs to be the baby, y’know? On those days, he likes laying with his face pressed into your stomach and his body curled into your embrace. You watch over him lovingly, tracing the designs shaved into his hair with a curious finger and slowly massaging his scalp.

He needs reassurance every now and then, verbal or otherwise. You are always more than willing to oblige, filling whatever role he needs at the moment.

He always takes necessary precautions, such as locking the doors and drawing the curtains, before he allows himself to strip his soul bare and lay all of his impurities before you. This is a side of him that no one else must know about. Otherwise, his reputation would take a massive blow.

Speaking of “baby,” it’s no secret that Fuyuhiko positively despises his baby face. You, however, adore it. You like to squish his cheeks and coo about how cute he is. He never resists you, and will even play along by puckering his lips at you if he’s in a good mood. It doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t like his face, but if you seem to be fond of it, then maybe it’s not all that bad.

But if anyone else even thinks about touching him in such a manner, then that’s it.

I have often given Qui-Gon Jinn a hard time because he’s so often used in STAR WARS fandom as a weapon to beat on other characters I love and it makes it difficult to like him, as well as it overshadows who the character himself is. So, to help balance that out some, I wanted to do a set of recs to remind myself–and just share some happiness in!–that I actually do very much like Qui-Gon! He’s a good person who really loved the people around him, he cared very deeply, he had an amazing friendship with Yoda (seriously, that Yoda’s the one he reaches out to when he becomes a Force Ghost, that even after death, Qui-Gon loves his Jedi family, it gives me feelings in my feelings place every single time), and one of my favorite things about Master & Apprentice is that I often got the impression that he knew he was kind of obnoxious sometimes, but he was at peace with it, he was fine with that.
