Now he’s the client and he’s looking for revenge.

The client is YN’s mom. She wants to be free to be with Sunoo’s dad or she just wants to be out of that relationship or whatever but she needs a way out and that is where Jay comes in. She needs dirt on YN’s dad to make a clean exit or a power move of some sort. She is able to blackmail Jay because maybe whatever she had on him involved someone going to the hospital…a hospital owned by Mercy Health perhaps…

And yeah I know a bit!!! Definitely not 100% fluent by any means but enough to be able to consume media and have most everyday conversations I just mainly can’t do super niche technical terms LOL It does take me a bit longer to read than if it were in English No you’re not dumb at all LMAO that’s exactly what I meant when I mentioned translating earlier on HAHA

As mentioned before though I’ve only gotten through like chapter 1 of yuki’s so far partially because of slower reading but also because I got sidetracked doom scrolling after trying to dig for a tiktok LMAO

BUT I almost cried looking at the index though one of the later chapters for yuki is “a lifetime’s worth of tears” GOODBYE I think we all know what that’s about :,,,)

Once I finish read them in their entirety I’ll come back and slap more formal summaries of each chapter but basically YUKI IS SUCH A SENTIMENTAL BOY SHSGSH basically first chapter details his first day of elementary school/entrance ceremony (he’s got a loving set of parents thank god) but basically he’s a rather mature boy and is pretty stoic and shy so he worries about making friends. As he’s walking in there’s Sakura trees in the yard that are causing petals to fall and yuki grabs one and stores it in his pocket (that’s where he gets his “fetish” from ig LMAO) In the end he befriends his seatmate and another girl, and ofc the way they first meet is just via self-intros and reading each others name tags and the name tag part is highly emphasized in the chapter!! His seatmate makes it a point to stare at his name tag and the girl literally like yanks his shirt to get a better look at the name tag (LMAO). Anyways, first day goes well and yuki goes home with his parents all happy and whatnot until he gets home and starts changing into home clothes and realizes his name tag isn’t with his jacket like he thought it was supposed to be!! He gets all frantic because the name tag was really special to him, since his mom had handwritten his name onto it and (this next part is more implied) it was a memento of his first day at school where he managed to make friends! So he literally runs out like mom I can’t find it and his mom’s like “oh no! We’ll just have to order you another one then” and yukis like “No..that one was special..” so literally right before they plan to eat dinner he runs out back to school to try and search for it and ofc (as the non negligent parents they are) his parents chase after him!! They end up going back and forth tracing their steps from their home to school like three times and yukis like on the ground searching under cars and just checking everywhere and after their third try his parents are like “it’s time to go home kenyu…we’ll order you another don’t worry! You must be hungry now” and begrudgingly on the verge of tears yuki’s like ok…and goes to take some sakura petals from the ground at least to make up for it but turns out his name tag was buried under the petals shdgshsh he’s so happy he’s crying tears of joy* and he’s glad he didn’t give up and his parents are hugging him as he cries and he thinks to himself “God was looking out for me, as long as I don’t give up, these sorts of wonderful things will be sure to happen” and it ends with “His honesty and determination gave birth to a small miracle”

It was so cute he really held that name tag close to his heart even after just one day!! And he’s very perceptive..like when his parents were getting ready to go back home he realized that they’re probably also exhausted and you can kinda feel that he feels bad about that which is why he reluctantly agrees to going home! He was also really nervous entering school LOL even his parents were a bit worried that he was too quiet/stoic to make friends

Ok onto reading more so I can come back here or maybe by the time I’m done I’ll have just decided to compile a large list of summaries LMAO

i could talk a lot about my headspace appearance, because i personally find it very interesting .. but i also am very much a narcissist (npd holder, along with.. just being incredibly self absorbed and otherwise narcissistic by definition even outside of the pd, hahah) so i personally find every little tidbit about myself to be utterly fascinating.

No okay for some odd reason our brain tends to latch onto alters that tend to have more self-absorbed personalities. Does this go for all of our alters? of course not. But then we also have our Andrew and Aesop doubles and they aren't self absorbed so much as they just prefer their space. It's so strange how our system works. Systems are fascinating tbh.

i also like the darker mcu storylines just b/c i feel like w/ everything going on, some angst ought to happen!! the mcu definitely nails the happier, humorous stories but i'm currently LOVING the serious storylines. multiverse of madness felt more like a horror movie i was actually JUMPING in my seat, almost screamed at some parts, & almost had a heart attack ASLFKJF it was definitely an experience, but i'm not sure i'm ready to rewatch it b/c i'll have to prep myself before the watch LOL

u have a favorite movie/show in the franchise?? it's honestly hard, but i love the guardians of the galaxy movies, shang chi is a masterpiece, wandavision's a classic, and ms. marvel was something my family & i liked a lot!!

ok when i first watched this i was really confused. i mean, you see others when they interact with the dorocha have that perpetual frost on their face right? all of them, every single one. so imagine my surprise when merlin has no frost on his face, and he's miserable yea- but he's not dead??

like tbh, watching this again, ik why but when i first watched this, i was SO confused.

okay so basically this is now the entertainment company for the groups FALCON and KING

HAHAHS THE NAMES I REALLY CAN'T GUYS I'M SORRY THE NEXT POST ABOUT NEKOMA AND FUKURODANI ARE GONNA BE MUCH WORSE

okay but yes

they're one of the biggest names in the country and their groups have been around for quite some time

washijo is CEO

they're known to be very hard to get into because all of their idols are trained to be polished at whatever they do

but all of their releases are top quality

so lets get into the groups !!

KING - seijoh

okay so KING has 8 members and most of their comeback concepts are pretty bubblegum pop and boy-next-door

our leader for this group is oikawa of course

he's also wanted to be an idol for so long and trained really hard for it

• he managed to pass the auditions but his trainee years were hard on him because of all the expectations and work

luckily he befriended iwa who was also a struggling trainee

they spent years helping each other out and leaning on each other for support until their debut came

oikawa's the all-around vocalist, visual, and dancer so he's almost always in the center

the kind who nails all the notes while busting out the hardest dance moves

he's also multilingual because he wants to talk to a variety of his fans

everything he does seems so natural but in reality he practices so hard that iwa has to drag him to bed

iwa's our main rapper and main dancer of the group

his audition tape of him dancing was a bit embarassing because he was wearing a godzilla sweater and his hair was gelled up

everyone likes to bring it out from time to time

his fans also like sending him anything godzilla

his rapping is pOWERFUL and he can also beatbox really well

he also leads the dance breaks in performances

everyone thought he was scary until oikawa accidentally called him iwa-chan in a radio show and now everyone calls him iwa-chan

while oikawa is the leader, iwa is the one who manages everyone and makes sure no one gets lost when they go to awards shows

matsukawa and hanamaki were trainees that came in later and they became friends because they were roommates

hanamaki saw matsukawa taping printed out pictures of memes on the wall beside his bed and immediately knew they would be friends for life

and they were

they're notorious for sneaking food into their dorms and also picking on oikawa

they're kind of like an inseparable duo especially since hanamaki is on vocals and matsukawa is on rap

they have a lot of onstage moments and fans love how playful they are

they kind of improvise a bit sometimes when it comes to dance moves which makes washijo want to pull his hair out but fans like it so :/

they're the oldest members but they still call iwa and oikawa 'mom and dad'

they like doing weird shit to hanamaki's hair and taking videos of it 

the ‘what’s a contract? never heard of it’ duo basically 

yahaba's like the resident beautiful guy apart from oikawa

his voice is really melodious and he's often the one harmonizing with the high part

matsuhana try to get him into their pranks on oikawa but he's too much of a goody two shoes

likes to film his skincare routine for the fans

secretly oikawa’s favorite junior

kyoutani auditioned for CROWN because he thought they were forming a hip-hop group or something edgy but no he was put into KING and he has to be around softies

he was desperate to get kicked out at first until iwa convinced him that he could still keep his look

they gave up on making him smile or look bright on cameras and said that if he's going to glare at least make it sexy

only listens to iwa and always stands next to iwa during award shows 

kindaichi and kunimi are their most treasured juniors and they'll do anything to protect them

both of them are vocalists and even though they don't often sing the melodies or hit the high notes, they're great harmonizing

actually knew of kageyama back in their auditioning days and were lowkey jealous of him

kindaichi is the sweetest junior he's always the one giving the members water and making sure they're alright

kunimi just silently observes the entire time and barely says anything but he'll often approach iwa for pointers when it comes to dancing

they were super young when they debuted and attended high school together in between practice

their seniors surprised them by coming to their graduation and even performing at the ceremony

both of them aren't as good as their fellow members yet but kindaichi works hard to be able to earn a few more lines in their songs

kunimi doesn't show much effort but he secretly likes to learn songwriting and music production because his dream is for KING to perform one of his songs

FALCON - shiratorizawa

another group that debuted about a year or two before KING

it is a POWERHOUSE of talent

also pretty much the OG group for most fans that inspired other upcoming groups

a lot of their concepts are centered around a mature gentleman image

idk what im saying but i'd compare them to super junior pretty much

they also do a lot of edgy concepts

ushijima's the leader of the group plus main rapper

he was actually inspired to become a rapper after watching another idol's performance

tbh he never expected to debut with a group but he had grown attached to some of his fellow trainees

he's also really talented at writing and producing songs

super stoic, even in front of the camera, but fans love his attempts at humor

tendou's like their main dancer and rapper

when he was younger people said his dancing looked weird because tendou could do those really cool, almost jerky movements

when washijo saw his audition tape he was like 'hmm we could use that'

thats because FALCON is super big on choreography, especially the ones that look like all the members are creating this huge other thing just by using movement

tendou pretty much leads the dance breaks all the time and he looks super serious and intense

he likes saying the most random, funny things during interviews

sometimes you'll catch him dancing by himself when they’re just waiting for results in award shows

so many conspiracy videos as to whether or not tendou has joints

now we have our shirabu kenjiro

this boy is like a prodigy he was destined to be recruited by CROWN and to end up in FALCON

the more i spell out these names the more i see how absurd they all look i'm sorry

tendou likes to call him his 'beloved junior'

he's as serious as ushiwaka is but with sASS

is known for sassing out interviewers and show hosts when he can tell that they're making up bullshit and now everyone's scared of him

he's main vocals and visuals

his voice is like a really nice baritone and he's very powerful with his singing that people don't question whether or not he lipsyncs

actually gets the most lines in their group

he likes to challenge the limits of his contract and even cut his own bangs and that's why they're Like That

he ended up getting chewed out by washijo for it

ya boi semisemi is out here being a dAncE gOD

he can learn choreography really quickly and in variety shows the hosts always challenge him to learn another group's choreo by looking at it once

so far he has not lost

everyone in his team cheers him on

also basically the group's main choreographer. he'll lowkey get mad at someone who forgot the choreo but teach them anyway

interacting with fans makes him so happy and soft he treasures every letter he receives and likes giving out gifts during fanmeets

he keeps his room really neat and likes to display the presents he receives from fans

also main vocalist in the group but just gets a line or two

his real skill though are opening dance performances during music award shows

he, tendou, and goshiki slay every opening performance and its amazing

reon is the last main rapper of the group and basically The Mom of the group

he's the one calming everyone down and checking up with people before they perform

his rapping sounds really smooth and very close to how he speaks normally so he shines most in the b-side tracks of their album

he had a lot of struggles passing auditions because most companies would discriminate because of appearance but washijo saw a lot of potential in him

he likes to speak out about the discrimination in terms of appearance in the music industry

everyone in FALCON supports him

lastly we have goshiki the precious little maknae of the group

everyone dotes on him because he was a skinny child when he debuted with the group

goshiki's like the legendary maknae who could do pretty much anything

he's main vocalist, dancer, and visuals

when he started out he was always super active and full of initative as a trainee

he trained super hard just to debut with FALCON because he looks up to ushijima

like shirabu, he gets a ton of lines and sings a lot during the chorus

when he graduated everyone from FALCON attended and he treated them all too lunch

after every comeback tendou's jus like 'our little baby goshiki is growing up'

FALCON and KING have a small rivalry ongoing to see who can get the most views in one day during every comeback video that the members do all these crazy things to get their fans to stream their comebacks

one of them was matsuhana promising to release a rare picture of kyoutani smiling

a smirk plays by your lips as you twirled around the necklace by your hand, eyeing at the man across you, the eyes behind the goggles he wore slightly widened, his gaze fixated on you.

“i won again, stranger.” you sang, feeling your cheeks rise in amusement. “i’ve got to say, you’re getting rusty over there. do you want me to teach you?” you winked, clearly couldn’t help but teasing him.

truth be told, you’re not this talkative and flirty at all. what probably gave you the confidence were the mask that you wore and the person you directed it to.

the speechless thief—that’s what they call him. although you didn’t want to refer to him as that simply because it was difficult to say it especially when you’re casually talking to each other—rather, you’re talking to him. he lives up to his name, after all.

“see you next time, love.” you blew him a kiss before falling down—gliding towards the motorcycle that laid just beneath the building. as you started the engine, you failed to stop yourself from looking up, seeing the silhouette of the same man from above, not making any move to follow you.

that’s one thing you learned about him too during the course of two years “spending time” with each other. he’s not talkative, plus he doesn’t also give a chase when you catch whatever he wants to steal first.

there were times that he does get the item first but you do run for your life in order to just get it from him.

the items you steal from him were nothing important per se. you just found him very entertaining and interesting to “hangout” with.

your next heist came sooner than you thought. you were actually excited with this one since the catch this time are gold bars that would be from a corrupt mayor. surely, this would be quite a catch and the speechless thief would not take it very easily.

so you prepared thoroughly throughout the week before the heist. it was such a short time but it was only what you had since the information only got to you by that time.

holding the briefcase on hand, feeling the weight of the gold bars under your palm, you held the gun towards the figure in front of you, them doing the same thing.

“oh, it’s you.” you say in recognition of that gaze and the quirking of his lips. even through his disguise, you easily found out about him and you had to stifle a giggle to not lose your focus.

“you know, you should really take up my offer to polish you up again. maybe you’d win against me.” you remark, narrowing your eyes to see whatever reaction crosses his face.

truth be told, you do not make these words very seriously. all you wanted to do was to be able to witness his expression. after all, that’s what’s getting you riled up with this “silent competition”.

also, you have yet to hear his voice.

he was quick with his movements as usual, trying to kick the gun out of your hand in order to gain advantage.

you, on the other hand, knew what he was about to do. twirling around, you prevented his foot from even touching you, attacking him by the barrel of your gun, only for him to shield himself with his own palm.

you instantly pull your hand away from his, instinctively thinking that he might try to steal the gun instead.

the fight continued but there was no sign of who was winning. as for you, you were enjoying every second of it.

in terms of strength, he was surely the one at advantage. but with the quick movement that you make with your hands and feet, it would be difficult for him to escape from you—that, you’re proud of.

“are you getting tired?” you grinned at him, both of you panting heavily under the moonlight peeking from the window in the room. anytime now, the mayor and anyone else will find out about the heist if neither of you gets out with the briefcase.

you were beginning to tire out as well.

your grip on the handle tightens as you recall of the children and elderly that were relying on you back home.

you have to win this one.

“hey,” you try to catch his attention. “what’s... what’s your name?”

you never really blatantly asked him—you knew he wouldn’t answer anyway. this time, you needed something to distract him somehow.

he hesitated, of course he would. he never spoke once in the span of two years. actually, you were so close to thinking that he wouldn’t even at this time.

“my name is (y/n).” you say, not even bothering to hide your true name. “if that makes you comfortable.”

he’s still tense, you sensed. yet after sometime, he finally speaks.

“tamaki... why... why do you a-ask?”

hoarse and stutter, that was what you first thought when you heard his voice. it was almost as if he only forced them out of his system.

a smile curves your lips unconsciously still.

“tamaki...” you repeated. “i’ll call you tama-kun, then!” you beamed, seeing how he tenses at the mention of his name.

you walked towards him slowly and he didn’t seem to have any indication to attack you—more like he wanted to just crawl under the table and refuse to even look at you.

you slapped the gun away from his hand and caught it with yours, your movements quick enough for his comprehension.

but before he could even say something, you spoke.

“the gold is not the only thing i intend to steal tonight, tama-kun.”

“h-huh?”

you slipped your gun on your belt and gave back his, offering a gentle smile at the same time.

“why do you steal, tama-kun?” you inquired, still holding out his gun—which he wasn’t still getting back.

“i bet... it’s not for you, isn’t it?” you added, already knowing the answer before he could say so.

“h-how-“

“i don’t steal for myself too.” you forced the gun on his hand and when he finally held it, you knew he wouldn’t point it to you anytime soon.

as you looked up to his eyes, you saw the confusion and surprise in his eyes, probably recalling of the encounters you’ve had before.

“but the thing we’re different at is that; i steal for those in need, you steal for those with their personal desires. aren’t i right?”

he closed and opened his mouth simultaneously, probably not knowing what to say.

he still lives out his name and you had to stop yourself from not pointing it out.

“join me, tamaki.” you offered your hand again, but this time it was for a different cause.

“aren’t you getting tired?” the question was the same as what you asked earlier but it held a different context.

yes, you find him entertaining and interesting, that’s why you tried your best to always get his attention.

but you forgot just how much you grew attached to him despite being complete strangers.

as time was running out for the two of you to escape, your feet dangled upon the rooftops, another pair beside you as your clothes danced along the evening breeze.

tonight, you deemed it as one of the bests heists.

tomorrow, it’s a new day coming for you and your newfound partner.

so for reference the mandarin names are tao, fei and huang :D

mandarin names are similar to korean names so it's the surname and then usually 2 characters, which makes a 3 character name. so by giving them the names tao, fei and huang, you're basically naming them like lee chan, aka giving them a 2 character name. not that it's wrong but here's the funny part.

huang is actually a surname,,,, and it literally means yellow LMAO. but i guess in some situations it can refer to gold which is associated with royalty and all that heheh. but if you write it with his surname it's xu huang which,, sounds funny IDK hhhhh

i have no idea which character of tao you mean so i won't even bother, but i'm pretty sure the character that most people think of for fei means 'fly' which is pretty hehe :D

i didn’t even pay LOL i freeloaded off my cousin 🤧 i like to look @ scenery sometimes but like i can’t bc my head hurts LOL and the scenery is always the same for me, mountains and fields with cows. i try to take dramamine but it makes me so drowsy that i’m just basically dead,,, i live off of my cousins money so i’m okay 🤪

pearls are Dangerous, i once drank a smoothie and there were pearls in it and i couldn’t see them bc there were like. only 3 and they were Buried under the smoothie but i choked and almost died but i chewed one of them and it’s like. so weird. HOLLERING AND YODELING IM- i once went to some public yodeling class and left in 2 seconds bc it was a bunch of white boys dressed like the kid from walmart 😪

it’s not even strength i’m actually rly weak,, i always think the doors are closed but they’re not and so i like slam them open and the walls are thin so it’s just. a sad hole. terrible wifi,, my school has pretty good wifi tbh but we have like three connections, one for the chrome books only, one for the teachers & staff, and one for students and guests. like it works rly good but everyone has a VPN bc of stupid social media restrictions 😤 & ilyt 🥺 u would probably win in a fight tho LOL

go ham is so interesting. the first time i heard it i thought it meant go pig and i was so confused but ig,,, i live lathered in sun screen whenever i go somewhere with the sun. ppl are like “i smell sun screen” and im just there like 🙃 it’s me u got a problem u burnt chicken nugget ??? i wish i tanned easily, i have a tan friend and when i showed her when my legs got tan she was so confused. i thought i was tan tho? bc during marching band season my sock tan becomes So Bad i’m basically white. she said she was blinded when she saw me pull my sock down and i laughed so hard LOL & i hate those dumb random tan lines like. where u @ bro? where u come from??

snow is fun for like a day and then i get tired LOL i csn only handle wet socks and a red nose for so long 😔 i tried skiing one time and i did so bad that the instructor had to hold me down and walk with me down the slope. i fell so many times i think he hated me 😳 i’m also rly bad at skating? i went w my friends once and i held both of their hands and still managed to bring both of them down when i fell. a cute guy once helped me when i was struggling to walk so 🥴 not my brightest moment tbh,, trying to walk in skates while on ice. do u enjoy skiing/skating? also gardening is. gross. worms and dirt and the sun i’m not here for it.

I USED TO BE SUCH A GOOD KID AND DRINK MILK EVERY MORNING ever since i got to middle school i preferred sleep over waffles and milk and i hardly drink milk but when i do. my stomach does not have it.

I saw the cleaned version of eden zero that u did and I was wondering if you can make a tutorial on how to remove all the texts and other stuff please

ohhh cool?? yeah dude! this was my first edit, so i’m by no means an expert? there’s probably a much better (and easier) way to do things. i kind of wish i recorded my process now bc 90% of the time i was just winging it and hoping for the best.

btw thank you for the ask! man, if tutorials are something you guys are interested in maybe i’ll actually start recording my process? idk. let me know! 

ps: this got so long i’m so sorry.

1. think about changing your phone’s lock screen and decide to make your own from a magazine cover. get upset that a bunch of text covers the pretty art and bE VERY DETERMINED TO FIX IT.

2. open it in your art program (mine is clip studio paint! highly recommended) make a duplicate layer of the cover. use one layer to work on and the other to keep tabs on all the changes and see the progress you’re making!

3. hide your reference layer and erase all the obvious text and disrupted background on your work layer. i used a large, hard edge eraser and roughly took out a big chunk.

4. then you’ll need a steady hand, lots of guesstimating and a small eraser along the lines (or where you think the lines would be, like i had to guess where shiki’s hair lines were). this might require a lot of crtl+z and patience hahah! get between all the little gaps too.

5. i had to make the decision of whether i wanted to keep this background or make an entirely new one. but i loved the gradient and clouds; i wanted to keep it as close mashima’s original as possible. so this is what i was working with. i was able to keep parts of his background where it didn’t have any text.

6. a blank background was kind of distracting to me, so my next step was to match the gradient. make a new layer underneath your work layer and use the eyedrop to match the colours.

7. now get ready. the next part is a little difficult? bc you have to try and match mashima’s brushes and pen strokes? i used a thin G-Pen for the lines. and used the eyedrop tool to match the line colour.

8. make a new layer! in the screenshot below you can vaguely see my line work over the text. i have no advice on this. you just have to guess where the lines will go. hope for the best. pray.

9. add another new layer! again, use the eyedrop tool to match the colours. use a hard brush to make a base layer for the colours to cover the text. attention to detail is key.

10. make another new layer over the base colours and you can add mashima’s watercolour(ish) shading style. it makes his highlights and shadows look a little softer.

11. add another layer over your background colour. add your clouds. this requires a lot of experimentation. this part took me the longest tbh.

12. add a few more details and fix up parts you might have missed (like that red text near shiki’s arm i literally almost forgot till the very end lmao).

13. another layer! add your cherry blossoms. beautiful. 

done! don’t forget to add your signature.

Fandoms: from beginning to end - Without A Trace, House, Spooks/MI:5, The Good Wife, Silk, Harry Potter (although, technically, that was probably the first one - my mum’s best friend said she had to read HP because from age 6 to age 10 it was all I ever consented to talk about).

So, the first thing I need to confess is: I geek over AO3 and FF analytics. I always cross-post simultaneously and find the difference (and similarities) between the websites and their audiences, and the way it reflects in the feedback on my work, absolutely fascinating. I mean, I’m doing the following based on kudos for AO3 and on favourites for ff and the first fic on AO3 is twelth in ranking on ff. The first fic on ff is ninth on AO3. They’re the same stories posted at the same time! Why the difference? Can someone please conduct a sociological study of both websites because I’m digging this. 

However, even more interesting: the second most popular story is the same on both. It’s also one I really don’t like. Isn’t that mad?

Anyway, onto the nitty-gritty. 

AO3: Truth (Peaky Blinders)

I like parts of this one. It was the first thing I wrote after years of not writing and I think it might have suffered a bit from that kind of stiffness in my writing muscles. Obviously, it was also so linked to the end of series 3 that it ended up being AU quickly after series 4 came out, which is a bit annoying. I think I also may have made Tommy a bit too intense in this one? I don’t know. There are parts of it that I really do like, though. I really, really love the structure, and the opening is probably my all time favourite in anything that I’ve written (a very close race with Once for TGW, tbh). 

Anyway, I always think it’s a bit funny that this one became the most popular (by far by the way) out of everything I’ve ever written because it was such a flop when I posted it hahah. Got like three kudos and one comment, and because I hadn’t written in so long, I remember thinking: ‘ah, that’s it, then, I’m shite.’ Little did I know! Now, it’s just been steadily getting more and more love with every month that passes and that just makes me so, so happy. I suppose that people just watch Peaky on Netflix and find the fic when they dig through the archive, give it kudos - it’s so, so lovely. I also recently got one of my favourite comments I’ve ever gotten on it (on FF) and it’s really made my day :). 

FF: Cannonballs (The Good Wife)

Again, one that was not very popular at the start (I seem to remember it had the lowest amount of favs for quite some time, actually) but has gradually grown to be popular-ish. I honestly haven’t read this is so long that I don’t really have an opinion on it but I do remember that it is the first thing I actually remember properly working on. I was eighteen when I wrote it and although I’d been writing for years prior to that, I’d always just kind of wrote stuff in one go, posted it and forgot about it. This one was the first one I really worked on, planned, edited, and I remember re-reading it a couple of years back and thinking it was probably the first one that makes me not cringe now. Overall, I do like that it’s popular now.

AO3: Children (Silk)

My baby. My love. On and off, between writing, first posting, then editing and reposting - 2.5 years of work. It is a ridiculously niche fandom but sure look, I’m so proud of it. I’d always thought I was a one-shot kind of girl, that I was incapable of writing and framing a long-form story, and yet, here I am. I am madly proud of this. 

FF: Castles (Harry Potter)

Sheer force of numbers, here, to be honest. It’s only two chapters in, and already two kudos short of overpowering Children on AO3, which I’m guessing will make it most popular across the board, just because the fandom itself is so large. 

I will say this: I’ve had this story in my head for years and I think part of the reason why I’m only writing it now is that after years of writing in nice, niche fandoms where you could easily read all the fics available in a few days and make friends with readers because everyone kind of knew each other, I finally have the backbone to face the Potter fandom. Because fuck, as much as I love the books and have gotten absolutely lovely, thoughtful comments on this throughout the past few weeks, God can that fandom be brutal.

And, don’t get me wrong: I’ve had constructive criticism on a number of my fics in the past, including very niche ones. Even if it does sometimes hurt a bit, it’s always helped me better my writing. I remember for instance one chapter of Children where someone wrote in that they were confused and couldn’t follow the narrative. I was a bit annoyed at first but in the end, it made me rethink the chapter and rewrite it, and they were 100% correct. That’s the whole point of constructive criticism/debates in comments. 

The Potter fandom has that, no doubt. I’ve had super interesting discussions in comments and overall the response and feedback has been incredible, like I’ve never even dreamt of before. This being said, I’ve also gotten more shit than I’ve had in any other fandom. For instance: the story picks up after the war (starts in May 1998). The summary reads: “To him, the spring of '98 is about sex and funerals.” - which is a line taken from the fic itself. When you labour over something for hours on end and the first comment you get is: “first learn when spring season starts and ends before writing a story about it. what a joke.” it’s a bit disheartening, to say the least. 

And, I know. First of all, yes, that person is an idiot and clearly doesn’t know when spring ends and summer starts themselves because summer only technically starts on the 21st of June. Secondly, even if I’d gotten it wrong, I didn’t write a story about the seasons, you idiot. It’s clearly a line taken from the story. Lastly, learn how to punctuate and spell. Now, I’m 27. I know that. I can disregard that. But even then it still feels like shit. If I’d gotten that kind of trolling when I was younger, I’m not sure I’d still be writing today. I really admire younger writers who start out on Potter - I was very afraid until now, tbh.

Favorite story you’ve written: 

This, I really don’t know. I was trying to pick one but I think my favourite one is almost always the one I’ve either just written or am writing now. For a long time, I really loved Once. I also really liked Daisies and Dreams. I obviously love Children although I think I’ve spent so much time writing and editing it that it’ll take a bit of time for me to really appreciate it without also self-editing in my head, if that makes sense. 

Right now, though, I love Castles. I think it’s the best piece of writing I’ve ever written. When the next one comes around, I hope that’s the best piece of writing I’ve ever written. That means progress. 

Fic you were nervous to post: 

Castles for reasons explained above. I love HP but I don’t think big fandoms in general are my thing. I like decent-sized fandoms. Like, TGW-size, back in the day, was perfect. Even as a reader, it’s also fucking hard to find good fic due to the sheer mass of stuff out there. Where do you even start?

How you choose your titles: 

Castles, Children, Daisies, Truth, Mistakes, Dreams, Before, Once, Cannonballs - hello, do you detect a pattern here :D?

Jokes aside, yeah, I like one-word titles. Believe it or not, though, it hadn’t occurred to me that I always seemed to gravitate towards them until @orbythesea on AO3 pointed it out to me. To be honest, even the fics that don’t materially have one-word titles have one-word titles in my head. Like, Horses Made of Sticks is actually just Horses, in my head. I should probably have called it Horses. 

How do I choose? Depends. Sometimes, they come from songs (Castles, Children, Daisies). Sometimes, it’s quotes, concepts from the show/book, or sometimes it just fits. Like, Once, Dreams and Truth couldn’t really have been called anything else, they’re just what the fics are about. 

Do you outline? 

Yes, always. For one-shots, I usually have an outline on my phone or part of the word file I’m writing the fic in itself, just a list of scenes or quotes that come to me at random points during the day that I will forget if I don’t write them down. I am very forgetful of my own brilliance hahaha. 

For longer stuff, I usually have the general plot in my head from beginning to end before I start writing. Then, chapter by chapter, I plan with a blank A4 sheet of papers that I fill with post-its describing different scenes, a little bit like a paper version of those boards they have in writers’ rooms. It helps me physically see where scenes fall, where holes are. I do the same thing for original fiction. 

For reference, one for Children (chapter 9) would have looked like that. They’re definitely not set in stone, though. Lots of times I’ll change stuff on the spot, big or small. Scenes that pop up randomly or get deleted because they worked in my head but not on paper, sometimes moved (sometimes moved to other chapters even). Here, “Alice” later became “Charlotte” and that “eye-fucking” (LOL) scene never happened. 

Complete: 

I think they’re all complete? I never completed that alphabet-based collection of House one-shots but it was a collection and they were shite anyways. They’re not missed, lol. 

Of course, Castles is incomplete, but that’s just my current WIP. 

In progress: 

As I said, Castles. Also a piece of original fiction that I’m not sure where to post. Like, what do people do with short stories? Where do you post that shit online? Can anyone help?
