Kaijune - day 23: Flourish 🌺🫀
Biollante is technically the entire hollow earth the size of the continent itself. This is technically just the core of her.
Chaos Biollante
Nearing the end of humanity’s collapse, all of the world’s leadership put down their differences to form an alignment. Although mankind has been able to buy themselves some time by pitting the kaijus together, the very same kaijus that “protect” them are also extremely dangerous themselves. Therefore, a number of plans and projects to push back the damage of the kaijus were put in motion. Among these projects, one notable course of action is nicknamed project-Biollante.
It is stated that the project, lead by Dr. Genshiro Shiragami, was experimenting with combining Kaiju cells with that of some floral and fauna- with some rumored that it even includes human DNA despite not having any prove. What is certained, however, is that by splicing together various floral genome with the cells within Gojira, these plants can feeds off the constant source of energy emitted and grow non stop. Adding in Mothra’s scale which accelerate growth and it is hoped that these mutated plants would grow fast enough to survive the destruction of the kaijus. With it being effectively a bio-bomb however, the laboratory is moved deep underground to keep Biollante contained in case things went wrong… and sadly went wrong it did.
Through unknown reasons- perhaps coincidental, Baragon burrows down to a zone nearby the underground research station. With a skeleton hot enough to melt stone, its heat caused major damage to the lab and break electrical instruments, causing malfunction and accidentally releasing Biollante out of its containment tank. With this being an unstable prototype, the plant start absorbing heat and grow unhindered- soon taking over the entire station after Baragon left. Although a number of the human researchers evacuated to the surface, the majority of them was left behind when the lab was sealed, leaving them at the mercy of the plant and countless animals subjects that are also freed from containment.
the station was completely sealed off in fear of Biollante devastating humanity’s only safe haven on the surface… until a few decades later when the human within Mothra’s domain was instructed by her to open the vault and venture downward. what they see was unbelievable. Biollante has grown to the size of a continent, its body taking in dirt and convert it to bio-mater underneath the surface and creating an entire hidden world. this world is populated by the man and beast left behind all those years ago and have evolved beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. And luckily, Biollante have seems to reach a size where it stabilized itself, using its body to support this ecosystem and leaving a new world for the surface inhabitants to discover. A world that was commonly called the Hollow Earth.

How are you able to like Homelander and not condone his actions at the same time, without feeling crappy? This sounds accusing but I’m asking bc I’m struggling with it. I know ppl who do the same with characters, but I’ve had an unwelcome fixation on him come out of nowhere and I feel sick and guilty bc I feel like everyone will think I’m some kind of freak or something. I’m very much anti-sa and other gross stuff esp as a victim but I still feel like I’m being hypocritical or something. I’m sorry for the weird message but I feel like I’m losing my mind
The short answer is that he’s fictional. Think of… I dunno, an antagonist in media of a different form (let’s go with anime). I was a naruto kid growing up, so let’s use Orochimaru for an example. My guy was on some fuck shit through the entire show. Snatching bodies, murkin’ Hokages, wild experiments, all that shit with Sasuke, and so on. People still liked him regardless because he was a cool character despite the bad things he’s done. Some people may have even found him relatable in certain ways. I feel like it’s the same concept here.
You don’t have to feel bad about enjoying fictional characters, no matter how awful they may be. At the end of the day, they’re fictional and their actions have harmed nobody in real life. Their actions may mirror that which does harm real people, but they themselves have not dealt real harm to real people. Enjoying them does not mean you condone their actions.
I’m also extremely anti-SA, and am a victim of it myself, but I still find a lot of love and appreciation for Homelander’s character– but this isn’t hypocritical. My love for him doesn’t come from the fact he has perpetrated that act, nor should it come from that. I love him as a character with the bottom line that he is… extremely complex.
I’ve said it for years now, but I think Homelander is a compelling tale of the dangers of commodifying the human soul. He is an example of how awful someone can turn out if you deprive them of humanity with the goal of creating a product. People are not products, we are not a means to an end, and we certainly should never be treated that way. He was, and this is how he turned out. He’s a take on the cyclical nature of trauma in a lot of really interesting ways as well.
I find him relatable from a standpoint of my own traumas and being transgender. Episode four of s4 revealed that I have a jarring amount of trauma that mirrors his own to some capacity. I’ve always suspected these things, and I’ve had headcanons since the first season, and having them confirmed reminded me just how much I’ve latched onto this character because of it. Homelander experienced some degree of sexual abuse in the labs– and I wager there may have been worse than simply being called ‘squirt.’ Homelander was subjected to physical torture and locked in a room where his mind slowly fractured, all while being conditioned to never seek escape otherwise he’d be too devastated from disappointing the scientists or losing their ‘love.’
I have experienced SA, I was locked in my room with nothing as punishment (my 'bad room'), had very little privacy and next to no access to boundaries as a kid, I was put through physical pain very often by a sibling (my furnace), I was reared and conditioned to have a fear of disappointing others so severe it made my blood pressure drop into the danger zone a couple times as a kid– and still has similar effects as an adult. I’d literally pass out, have panic/anxiety attacks, vomit, etc. I also know what it’s like, as a trans man, to have been raised and reared for a life that was designed for me, but was not me. I was lucky enough to find my way to the person I needed to be; Homelander has not and likely will not ever be able to do so. In all of the aforementioned, I have a lot of empathy and compassion for him that combines with my fascination with his complexity. There were a lot of things in my life that should have pushed me down the road to be an awful person, much like the things in his life did. But I had a handful of people to guide me toward better things. He didn’t.
But I see myself in there nonetheless. Homelander was the first time I ever saw so much of my own trauma on display in a single character. I’d love to hug the man and tell him he’s enough, show him the humanity he was and continues to be denied, and so on. When I realized that means that I would, in turn, do that for myself if I only viewed myself through a lens that wasn’t my own, my life changed. This character changed my life. I know I thirst-post about him a lot, but my love for Homie runs a lot deeper than just finding him attractive, you feel?
A fictional character doesn’t have to be one of moral high ground or superiority for it to be okay for you to enjoy them. You can enjoy characters who commit horrible acts. This does not make you someone who condones horrible acts. I was initially pretty embarrassed to admit I like Homelander as much as I do, but I slowly realized that it does not make me a bad person and it should never be used as a gauge to find out how ‘moral’ someone is or not. People like Hannibal Lecter, people like Thomas Hewitt, Joffrey, Albert Wesker, Cletus Kasady– any number of fictional characters who have an ugly record or have done horrific things. We do not assume someone is evil because they like Hannibal, nor should we do the same for people who like Homelander.
At the end of the day, do what makes you happy. If exploring Homie is something you would have fun with, do it! Engage in media, learn tales of caution and tragedy– stories make us human. You are not inhuman for enjoying Homelander and his tale. In fact, I would argue you are very human because of it.

Her Heart // Chapter 1 // Shuri
Summary: You left behind the life of a wardog and continued on as Y/N of Wakanda and the heart of the black panther. Your world is suddenly flipped upsiode down when an old target kidnaps you and the Queen of Talokan. Can Shuri keep her head on straight and get you back before it too late?
Pairing: Shuri x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Spoilers // Mentioned Character Death
Chapter 1 // Chapter 2 //
Today was supposed to be simple. Shuri would train with the Dora Milaje in the early hours of the morning. Becoming the black panther meant she had to train harder than when she would spar with you. Back when T'Challa held the mantle. You being one of the best spies in Wakanda meant you could put up a good fight. Then she would spend time with you working in the lab. You had some designs for some new weapons to show her. You were proud of them. So she was excited to see what you came up with. This was the last thing on her mind. Namor was the last thing on her mind.
"How dangerous are these threats?" Shuri asked as the council gathered in the throne room.
"Reports are telling us that Namor has resurfaced. With clear intentions of destroying Wakanda." Okoye said with her hands behind her back. Scared? No. Worried? Of course but she couldn't let the council know that.
"Namor? I thought there was a truce with Talokan?" Ayo questioned and Shuri began zoning out. Namor was still set on attacking Wakanda? After everything he's already done. Yes, Shuri demanded a truce but in the end, he killed her mother. Something she could not forgive. When will it end? Shuri refused to let someone else she cares about fall due to his actions.
"Princess." A voice tore her from her trance and she looked up to see all eyes on her.
"I'll go to the checkpoint with Okoye and Ayo. If he's planning something, I must stop him before any attacks happen. Even if that means killing him this time. We leave in an hour." The black panther sneered as she stood from the throne both her mother and brother once sat. The room remained silent as she walked out with a heavy heart. Everyone knew where she was headed. To inform her dearest of this mission. A mission she may or may not return from. Namor couldn't attack again. Hasn't Wakanda mourned enough? Buried enough. Lost in her thoughts she entered the lab, her eyes finding your form almost immediately as you talked to other scientists. A small smile appeared on her lips as you waved your hand over the floating screen.
"Good evening, Princess." You perked up upon hearing Grio announce her presence and you went up to hug her. You may be a trained spy but she's the only one to make you smile brighter than you have before. She hugged you back and you pulled back before your smile fell. Her eyes held sadness and you caressed her cheek.
"What bothers you my love?" You asked with concern laced in your voice and she kissed your palm.
"Everyone out! Now!" She demanded and all the other scientists scattered out of the lab. You looked up at her with confusion evident on your features as you sat down the clipboard in your hands.
"Why did you send them off? What's going on?" You were worried now as she took a deep breath. Whatever she was about to tell you, isn't easy for her to say.
"We've gotten reports that Namor is planning to launch another attack. Your body went still as you held the gasp that threatened to leave you.
"And who said that? Where did you hear that from?" You questioned and she held your arms.
"One of Talokan's people came to the river border last night. Told us to be ready. He wants to finish what he started." She told you and you had to hold back tears. You knew she was about to go out there. You wouldn't be surprised if she was still hell bent on killing him. After what he did to her mother.
"Are you-" you couldn't finish your sentence as she slowly nodded and a small whimper finally cracked. "Why? Why now? He has a family now, what could his reasoning be behind this attack?"
"I don't know. That's what I'm going to find out."
"You can't go out there. If any of this is true, he could very well be trying to separate you from the palace." You started to panic and she grabbed your hands.
"I have to sthandwa. I might be able to talk some sense into him. If he is planning an attack I need to know when and why." She pulled you closer by your waist, hoping to calm you down.
"No. No! What if it's a trap set for you?" You argued and she sighed. She knew you would not agree so easily. "If he does want to attack, taking you out first is a battle strategy. He almost took you from me once. I cannot bear that pain again."
"I'll return to you Y/N." She held your face and you shook your head. You closed your eyes as she rested her forehead against your own. "I promise you."
"If you die on me, I'll resurrect you and kill you myself." You stated and she couldn't help the smile on her lips. No matter how serious you were. You almost never had to use your abilities. You gave up training them after you failed to bring the queen back. Her lips found yours in a passionate kiss as if to seal the promise. Your fingers dug in her hair and her hold on your waist tightened. The kiss held much more than a promise. It meant, come back to me. I love you. Be careful. Everything you couldn't say without the dam breaking.
You didn't even hear Okoye enter the lab until she cleared her throat. "M'Baku and the Jabari tribe have been notified. It's time to go princess." The two of you parted and you bit your lips as you hugged her one more time.
"Please-"
"I know my love. I promised, didn't I? Keep the lab from falling into chaos until I get back." She asked before backing away from you. The two of you didn't release the hold on the other's hand until she had gotten further away. You felt empty when her hand slipped from yours but you held up. No more tears. She was gonna come back. You had to be strong. She was the black panther. Everything will be just fine. You still followed behind her as the two went to the elevator.
"I'm gonna see you off." You told her and she nudged you with her shoulder. You looked over at her trying your best to keep the tears in your eyes. She rested her forehead on yours and you sighed as you leaned into her. The doors opened and the wind from the royal jet had your curls blowing in the wind.
The aircraft had been prepared and you walked out with Shuri. Intertwining your hand with hers as you neared the landing dock. She squeezed your hand in reassurance which you greatly appreciated. On the outside you may have it all together. But you were torn apart on the inside. You can't lose her. Not now. She's to become your wife in a couple of months. And you hers. When the time came she turned to you before kissing your lips one more time. It was quicker than the one you shared in the lab but held all the same passion. You watched as she walked into the jet with Okoye and Ayo not far behind. Aneka walked up to you before putting a comforting arm around you. Just like you, her love was going on what could be a suicide mission. You leaned into her embrace as you watched the jet disappear into the clouds. A light hand on your shoulder tore your attention from the sky and onto Aneka. "They will be okay. She will be okay. I am here if you need anything Y/N." You nodded before turning on your heels to go to the room you shared with Shuri. There you changed into a black battle suit you had stored away in your closet. Shuri had it made for you after you fought off some mercenaries who came to steal vibranium. You let out a sigh as you prayed for Okoye, Ayo, and Shuri's safety. Your eyes opened and you quickly ran to the lab. Upon entering you clapped your hands and looked at all the scientists present.
"Okay. Wakanda might be in danger. Those weapon plans I went over with all of you. It's time. We need to get them prepared for Shuri to look at upon her arrival back to the palace." You grabbed your clipboard and turned to the page with the vibranium daggers you had drawn out. You weren't going to deem yourself useless again. "Starting with these."
// The River Border //
Shuri felt as if her heart was beating out of her chest as she used the conch Namor left behind to call to him. Her thoughts ran wild as they waited. Why would he attack now? Why does he want to attack? Wakanda hasn't done anything to Talokan to receive such threats. She just wanted this to be a bad dream so she'd wake up next to you in your bed. The sun beaming down on you making you look like an angel. You would kiss her good morning and the two of you would lay there for a while talking about the wedding. Who you wanted to invite. What type of flowers you wanted in your bouquet. All the small details.
"Princess." Okoye called out as the water rippled, showing he arrived. She balled her fist as he stepped out of the water with Attuma close behind. He seemed a bit confused with the call but stopped at the edge of the water upon feeling the tension in the air.
"Princess. To what do I owe this meeting?" He questioned as Okoye and Ayo stood on alert.
"Don't play dumb with me Namor. We heard about your plan." She spat and now he frowned.
// The Palace //
"Ms. Y/N. The queen of Talokan is here to see you and the princess. She is waiting in the throne room." You frowned at the announcement Grio made. What was she doing here? How dare she show her face in Wakanda. You shot up from the computer and walked to the throne room where Namora stood by her queen. The queen saw the way your brows nearly touched because of the frown on your face and she gave a slight bow.
"You seem troubled." She said holding a blue hand on her swollen belly.
"Why are you here?" You asked and she was a bit taken aback by the sudden outburst. You had always shown her with respect. "Shouldn't you be standing by your husband?"
"I am here because I was summoned here." She replied and now you were the one confused.
"Summoned by who?" You questioned and she was a little concerned by your lack of knowledge on the information.
"One of the Dora Milaje called from the river border. Said there was something you and the princess needed to speak to me about. But it seems you have no idea what I'm talking about." She stated and you slowly backed away.
"We didn't send anyone. It would've been one of us to invite you personally on important matters. Not Dora Milaje. Especially not a single Dora Milaje." You told her and you caught the way Namora tensed.
"Where is the princess?" Namora asked, holding her weapon. Her eyes scanned the throne room as you sped to the table and grabbed your kimoyo beads.
"The princess has gone to the river border to confront Namor. Someone from Talokan alerted us that Namor was planning an attack." You told her and she frowned.
"He has made no such plans. Someone from Talokan? That's not true." She said taken aback and you sighed running a hand through your hair. You didn't like where this conversation was going. Neither of you knew about what was just revealed. It couldn't have been-
"Shit. Namora I'm going to need your help. We both have to stay with her at all times. She cannot leave this palace! Grio lock us down!" You shouted and the queen had fear rush across her features.
"What's happening?" She exchanged looks with Namora who was prepared to protect K'uk'ulkan's queen with her life.
"This whole thing was a setup. Both Talokan and Wakanda are without their protectors. You were lured here. The queen of Talokan. Who is currently pregnant with the child of a God. Someone knows something." You told her and she froze. Fear for her unborn child's life rushing through her body.
"I'm going to do my best to keep you safe. With Namora here that's more than possible. Come, we have to get to the lab." You stretched out a hand to the queen and she took it before the two followed you to the lab. You reached the lab where the scientist seemed to be surprised that you brought the Queen of Talokan here.
"What's the progress on those weapons?" You asked and one scientist spoke up.
"98%! Finishing the last one now."
"Hurry and print everything!" You shouted as you reached for the vibranium daggers you had finished. The blades were sharp to the touch and you slipped them into your boots. The last weapon, a vibranium short sword, had finished printing as Grio spoke out.
"Palace is locked down Ms. Y/N."
"Good." You grabbed a spare kimoyo bracelet and slipped it on Amera's wrist. "This is how we communicate. If we were to get separated for any reason, you can use these to contact me. I have the earrings as well so it won't be too noticeable. They can also reach the princess. And I'm almost certain Namor will be with her."
"Grio! Try to get in contact with Shuri." A couple minutes went by and you could hear your heartbeat in your ears. The pounding sound of a drum causing you to lose your breath.
"She didn't answer."
"Try again!"
// The River Border //
"Plan for what exactly?" Namor asked and Attuma stood in front of him.
"Your plan to attack Wakanda a second time. You were bold enough to send a message through one of your people." Okoye spat and his lips went into a thin line.
"I did no such thing. Besides, how do I know you're not pulling something on me. After requesting my wife come to your palace after my so-called threat of an attack." He spoke and Ayo looked over at Okoye. Neither of them had knowledge of this.
"We have no knowledge of this."
"What are you on about?" Shuri asked as her kimoyo beads vibrated on her wrist. She pushed to answer them this time and Y/N was on the other end.
"Shuri! Shuri, where are you?" She asked. Her voice held panic and worry.
"We're here with Namor. He claims he doesn't even know what we're talking about." Shuri told her dearest and the other end was silent.
"It was a setup." She said and everyone's attention turned to the princess with shock evident on their features.
"What do you mean a setup? Y/N what is happening?" Shuri became confused as her dearest was panicking on the other end.
"Amera. Namor's queen, said that a Dora Milaje came to the river border saying that we requested her presence at the palace. Apparently someone from Talokan said Namor was planning an attack. When I mentioned it to her she didn't even know what I was talking about." Shuri felt her heart drop to her stomach. Everyone has been tricked. Both leaders were drawn out from their kingdoms. "My love. I believe it's best for you to return back to Wakanda for I fear-"
A/N: Her Heart!!! But I plan to condense to longer and less chapters. Hope yall enjoy!! New fics coming soon!!!

I just realized, I don’t think we see enough of “absent-minded scientists” being played seriously. At least for me personally, I think Ruan Mei is the first character I’ve come across that plays the trope seriously — with potentially dire consequences.
(On the off-chance someone actually decides to read this mental trash bag, please bear with me. I have a lot of trouble articulating myself. Also, it’s been a while since I completed the quest. 😅)
Interest in the Aeons and trying to understand human nature aside, Ruan Mei didn’t seem like she considered some laboratory protocols and backup plans for her experiments (at least, she never told us if she had any backup plans, which is…really bad for a scientist, all things considered).* All she said was that she would step in if things with the Propagation Emanator became too much for the Trailblazer to handle. What’s the criteria for that? How does she decide if things become too dangerous? What exactly was her plan if she did decide to step in? What was her plan if the experiment managed to break out of the Seclusion Zone entirely? A behemoth of that size, with that kind of power and aggression could have still caused massive damage within that minute before it finally died. At no point during the boss fight did she step in to give us a hand, nor did she bother asking about our condition after we managed to “kill” it (more like just watching it die).**
She does have the decency to try to apologize when we meet her again afterwards, but it felt more like a lab protocol with the whole “Time and again, my experiments have fallen short, and they’ve always yielded predictable results,” instead of, “I recognize that I have put you in danger, and I am sorry for that.” So it comes across as more “I’m sorry that my experiments are often failures,” and less “I’m sorry that I almost got you killed by my experiments.” (A good example of her mentioned communication struggles.)
What I’m trying to say is that I would not have minded if Ruan Mei was another example of the absent-minded scientist/professor I have seen before in other media (although, she would have been the rarer calmer ones), but instead she and her actions are actually played seriously. The whole Mission is played seriously (and quite scarily, even — slightly similar to Alien: Isolation).
There is no, BOOM followed by “lol your hair looks funny after that explosion!”
There is no “Oh, oops, teehee! I forgot~”
There is no burst of visible enthusiasm when seeing something fascinating and ensuing wackiness of trying to stop her.
Ruan Mei is instead quiet, reserved, and quite calm, either giving a false sense of security with her very basic display of social etiquette in offering us snacks, or perhaps seeming slightly unsettling for some others.
There are also potentially several laboratory violations, very dangerous if not critically dangerous research being conducted, and countless lives at risk if things went horribly wrong.
That kind of writing and thinking about the what-ifs, future encounters and potential payoffs are what fascinate me. Ruan Mei’s character still fits the mad scientist type of character to a T, without any of the villainy like with Genshin Impact’s Dottore or hyperactive eccentricity like with a few other characters (from different media I’m familiar with).
Now, we have Firefly, who has a history of combating the Swarm as part of Glamoth’s Iron Cavalry. It makes me wonder if there will be some kind of clash between her and Ruan Mei in future versions, considering that Ruan Mei is bringing the Swarm to life, even cloning an Emanator.
(I’m also wondering just how sturdy the station is. There is no way vibrations were not felt during that boss fight and someone would not think to ask around and investigate. 😆 There’s just no way.)
My only gripes have to do with how the Trailblazer seems to lack a little agency here. We have the option to refuse to eat her cakes, but we are still made to eat them anyway. We could have replied with “I don’t really accept food from strangers” if pressed, and it would have been interesting to see how the mission played out without being drugged (or maybe Ruan Mei could have attempted again with another method, and succeeded).
Trailblazer doesn’t even think to contact the Crew to let them know that they are doing something solo in case something happens (and oh boy, did something happen). Even if the drug only affects what they say, what is stopping them from using text messages?
When we were texting her after the mission, the Trailblazer straight up says, “I look forward to experiencing new stories with you.” It’s not even an option. We don’t get the chance to instead say something like, “After something like that, I don’t feel safe around you,” or “Please leave me alone and don’t contact me or ask for me (ever) again,” both of which would have been very understandable things to say after being put in a life-or-death situation. We don’t even have the option to give a blunt “I don’t like you.” 😂
For those moments, the Trailblazer’s writing was…almost kind of like how Genshin Impact’s Traveler is sometimes written (very limited dialogue options with a limited range of reactions), the operative word being “sometimes.”
Some (Probably Pointless) Notes:
*I will say, she did at least seal off the whole Seclusion Zone (which was definitely the right step given that we see Swarm enemies in the halls). What nags at me is that we don’t know what her plan could have been if the Trailblazer failed (and maybe even died) and those things had managed to get out.
**As for her being stuck in that meeting with the other geniuses, she could have said, “I’m sorry, but I just remembered something that I need to check on. I’ll try to be back asap. No, I don’t need any assistance, but thank you for offering.” Hell, she could have used the super basic bathroom excuse (the aftermath of which I think could have been a potentially comedic moment when asked why she took so long).
I’m curious: Of all the Paths that she could have chosen, why the Propagation? Obviously human experimentation is highly unethical, but has she already tried and failed to search for Emanators of other Paths to contact for various reasons? (Diamond, who works for the IPC, could be unsuitable, and the Xianzhou’s Arbiter-Generals would certainly be a no-go, but now we have Acheron.) Or was it because of her struggles with people and working with an animal was easier for her? (I’m gonna guess it’s the second one…)
Whenever people talk about her flaws, it’s most often about her drugging the Trailblazer and tampering with our memories in the process, or it’s about her neglecting and leaving behind the cat cake critters she created.
I have yet to see someone cite her, oh, you know, BREEDING A GIANT MAN-EATING ALIEN BEETLE IN HER COLLEAGUE’S BASEMENT.
ONE THAT COULD HAVE GOBBLED UP AT LEAST A FEW HANDFULS OF RESEARCHERS IF IT MANAGED TO DEFY RUAN MEI’S EXPECTATIONS AND LIVE LONGER, AND/OR BREAK COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTAINMENT.
It’s insanely dangerous (and irresponsible) no matter how you look at it.
(Yet the most common reasons are still either the cat cakes, or the nonconsensual drugs…)
Also, I know we all love our parental stand-ins (like Welt, who is an actual father, and who I feel definitely lets that play into how he handles March and our trash panda) and found family concepts and projecting them onto some of our favorite characters who fit those roles. I myself am guilty of fantasizing over the father-son relationship vibes between Jing Yuan and Yanqing. (It’s cute and hilarious to me.)
But isn’t it a little bit strange to get upset when that character, particular if they’re a female character, coughruanmeicough does not fit that role and has not expressed any desire to?
Heaven forbid women do anything? More like heaven forbid women refuse to do anything.
#vanille throws out the garbage#honkai star rail#ruan mei#it’s now around 6 am as I post this#I’m tired bruh#sorry if this feels pretty unintelligible

yo, i'm dead. this game just loves big bursts of action followed by a nice long grind session. I just wanna make my car all electric and you can't even give me ten minutes to process the insanely huge facilities i'm DRIVING through?! I AM DRIVING THROUGH YOUR STATE-OF-THE ART SCIENCE FACILITY IN MY TRASHY STATION WAGON WITH TWO FLAT TIRES AND NO FRONT BUMPER, AND ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS YOUR DATA?!
How envious I am, that you remain safe in your labs, hidden from the dangers of the exclusion zone, while I sit here in waist-high radiation harvesting snails for my supper.

THE SECURITY AND SURVIVAL CENTRE
ATTENTION RESIDENTS OF THE VALLEY. IF YOU RECIEVE THIS MESSAGE YOUR ATTENTION IS MANDATORY FOR SURVIVAL.
Welcome to The Security and Survival Centre, the core centre of operations for your survival in the new age of Alton Towers.
History:
When Nemesis attacked, most Phalanx members were ordered to fight alongside the Towers' mascots to stop it. As we know, this led to the end of the Phalanx - who failed their only mission. All except one singular Phalanx Scientist, who managed to escape a brutal death by the creature. They retreated back into the Phalanx Research Facility, the building the Phalanx had been using to prepare and monitor the activities of Alton Towers. With all their colleagues gone, and their safety compromised, they began doing what they could to rennovate the building. Eventually, they found the Air mascot - Cy - too, who joined them in the new hideout. After the initial few months, they had taken all three floors of the facility and transformed it into what it is today!
Long gone was the Phalanx... now stood what is Forbidden Valley's last hope.
Layout:
The Security and Survival Centre (S&S Centre) is open to all and home to all your needs for surviving the current situation we face.

Starting at Ground Level, you'll find yourself at the top of the facility. This is where all main communications and outdoor security equipment is stored.
Using our advanced super computer, as well artificial intelligence guide EVE, you can access a plethora of resources and information regarding the state of the land, dangerous creatures and how to handle them, and visual on activities that the S&S Rescue Team may need to finish which brings us to the second half of the first floor.
The S&S Rescue Team are constantly needing to go out to find lost survivors and new hazards in the Valley. As such, the first floor contains all necessary gear for heading out to face the dangers of Nemesis' minions. This equipment is free to use for all civilians and it is highly advised that you take some of the equipment before heading out. Alongside all of that is the Training Grounds for practice and preperation. Do checks of your gear in a safe and secure zone, or head straight to our trials to put your skills to the test. However you choose to prepare, the Training Grounds will make sure you're set to go out and fight the monsters of Forbidden Valley.
Floor 2:
Going down a floor, you'll find the Sleeping Quarters, Relaxation Room, Medical Centre, and the Strategic Planning Hub. For those wishing to stay with us and join the S&S Rescute Team, you will find your stay between missions to mainly be spent here. We've gathered what we can to make a comforting space amongst the hells of the outside world. Each soldier is designated their own Sleeping Quarter that you can fill with your personal belongings and decorations to make yourself feel at home.
On top of that, we have the Relaxation Room, a hub for everyone to relax during our downtime, play games, chat and rest up. All food and supplies are stored here too, so you can pick from a well stocked selection of snacks and drinks to enjoy. Of course, we also have the Medical Centre, where we bring any injured survivors to treat and heal. Current residents may also enter the clinic at any point to be seen by one of our doctors who will help with any physical or mental concern you may be facing.
Finally for the middle floor, we have the Strategic Planning Hub - the centre of our last hopes for the future. Here we hold regularly meetings discussing plan of action for the future, where to go, and how to act. All members of the S&S will have the opportunity to join us in this space and chip in to our plans of action and add ideas to the document. This space will be constantly used until we are free, so if you wish to become a part of the group that helps set the Towers free, this is the place to be.
Floor 3:
On farthest down floor you'll find The Lab - our main area for experimenting and creation.
The Lab is split in two halfs. In the first half, you'll find the testing grounds for "Power Shards", genetic enhancements, and DNA analysis. This half utilises the power given to us by the Towers to analyse and find new methods to combat the Nemesi aliens, and hopefully one day Nemesis itself.
On the other half is all engineering work and testing, using the parts we can gather to craft new machinary, weapons, armour, and more to help boost our day to day life. Upon new upgrade discoveries too, S&S members can visit this half to get this applied to their own personal equipment.
Through each day both halves work together to discover how both can enhance the progression and discovery of each. Sometimes, technology will be enhanced through the powers of the Towers, and sometimes our analysis for DNA can be enhanced through our new technological discoveries.
Deeper Beyond:
Our power supply actually heads further down than those 3 floors, with all power coming from the thermoelectric generators we installed in caves closer to some of the lava pools that now exist within the Forbidden Valley. Every now and then, we do have teams go down to ensure they're all looked after and kept up to date to avoid power outages. However, with the location and source - our data predicts we should be able to last off of it longer than any of us here will naturally live!
Thank You
Residents, if you have made it this far, then I can safely say you are now fully informed on the information regarding the Survival & Security Centre.
Best of luck out there, we hope to see you soon in one piece.
- The S&S Team

Her Heart // Chapter 1 // Shuri
Summary: You left behind the life of Y/N the wardog and continued on as Y/N of Wakanda and the heart of the black panther. Everything was peaceful until an old target kidnaps you and the Queen of Talokan. Can Shuri get you back in time before its too late?
Pairing: Shuri x POC Reader
Warnings: Spoilers // Mentioned Character Death
Chapter 1 // Chapter 2
"Good evening, Princess." You perked up upon hearing Griot announce her presence and you went up to hug her.
A/N: My first Shuri fic! I'm excited. I'm going to open my ask box in case you guys have any questions or want to know about a taglist. Hope you all enjoy reading this one!

Survivor Mercs is already fully SteamDeck verified, so it runs smoothly on Proton and could work well with Wine too. Built with Unity 2022.3, the developers still have plans for a native build as Early Access moves forward. Let’s break down some of the big updates that have shaped the gameplay so far:
Major Update 1: Waste Land
This update dropped a brand-new map called Waste Land. It’s a giant, heavily guarded landfill run by M.E.G.A.-Corp. If you’re up for the challenge, you’ll be infiltrating this dangerous zone, fighting off the GriftLift drone, and taking on some pretty intense boss fights. The Survivor Mercs update also introduced rare building parts to the bullet hell, while that letting you upgrade your bunkers. Also giving you more reasons to dive back into the action.
Major Update 2: Operation Overhaul
Here’s where community feedback really kicked in. Operation Overhaul revamped a bunch of core game mechanics and added mini-bosses to all maps. Chapter 4
After some minutes of walking in the emptiness of the city and being more lucid thanks to effect of a fast resting, Cardinal can't help but notice the shadows of his surroundings, they are either misplaced by a few inches or they have the wrong size. Looking close he saw an eerily fog surrounding the street lamps, a hunch on his stomach is telling him to stop, to evade the light, to keep walking in the shadows.
The vibes of this place at night is similar yet so different from Gotham. While in Gotham danger is always present at any moment you can expect at least someone threaten to stab you for some money. Amity park It has a sense of isolation and wrongness that made him unsettled. Like if he make the wrong step, something really bad would happen.
As he walks further into the dark he begins noticing more oddities. The air starts to smell like dust. The street lamp's glow seems brighter than the sun. The shadows of the trees begin to stretch and grow longer. An unnerving and oppressive silence that was suffocating especially when he can't detect any sign of life. A strange feeling, like something is watching him, but he couldn't tell for where or who. The last thing that Cardinal noticed was how the darkness around him seemed darker than ever, making him even more suspicious.
Suddenly the street lights seem to fade out for a second making Cardinal look at the area closer than before. Whatever is going in here Cardinal is sure he'll need more than a mere knife for his survival. With that last tough in his mind, Cardinal tries to accelerate his rhythm while procuring of not breaking his stealthy pass. He has a mad scientists house to raid.
After several minutes of fast walking and hiding from any possible treath, he manages to reach the neighborhood where the Fenton lives.
When he took his first step into the neighborhood in an instant any eerily oddities he noticed were gone, expectedly for one. There wasn't still any people in sight. He was pretty confident that whoever or whatever was watching him just disappeared too.
Looking around he tried to assess any threats. After some time he realized that he was getting nowhere, the weirdness of this place was starting to get on Cardinal nerves.
Cardinal slow down his pase he is tired, unsettled and is pissed off.
Still with each passing step he felt more and more uneasy, as if the entire world around him was trying to pull away from the Fenton home. When Cardinal was finally standing infront of the the Fenton residence, He hesitates for a moment before lockpicking a window.
The night before, weird sounds could be heard in the basement lab of some weird ghost hunter family. The fenton portal thanks to some weird upgrade from Jack Fenton malfunctioned for some minutes. Luckily no ghost saw the opportunity to flew outside of the ghost zone, well except for one.
"Big bucks, no whammies! It seems I Vision the ghost of programmed entertainment, is finally free in the land of living. A new golden age of television will begin!!!" Spoke a being wearing formal clothes, at the top of his body was not head, instead was an old tv. The background was green and a inverted smile could be seen at the top of the tv.
Flying up to the sky, Vision was staring focused down the town searching for something.
"One giant step for ghost-on-kind!" His smile widened when he spot the local TV building.
Decided he flies down trespassing it until he got in the news study.
"Light! Cameras! Action!" In a swift movement Vision overshadowed every light and Camera in the study. A thin fog stared emating from every electric devices, any human who got to close or stare for too long the fog their minds would belonged to Vision.
His first victim was a wheatear reporter "This is Lance Thunder and today we'll be have a brand new show, one I assure you would be dying to watch"
In a flash everyone else in the building succumbed to Vision powers and went to an empty part of the building and begun with some help of Vision powers to build and tv sketch.
" Now, now that everything is in order my employees remember the show must go on "
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to SHOWTIME hosted by your incredible favorite, handsome, lovely, cute ghost, Tel. E. Vision!!!! " The TV like ghost said while teleported in some sketchy scenery. In the background it can be seen a yellow and white roulette with a sign "S.P.E.C.T.R.A.L G.A.M.E.S" above it.
Any time vision referred himself as "ghost" the word was censored and replaced with "person". As the show progress and with every game played more and more Amity Parkers loosen their minds in the world of vision, until is not only their minds, in every TV a pair of spectral hands starts getting out and pull in every spectator into the TV.
Unfortunately, Danny Fenton was busy studying to watch TV. The finals were on some days.

Okay why I can't see any comments ? It is bugged? :S
The OC ghost was inspired by TheStrange_One of AO3 . I hoped you guys liked. It will show the absurdity of ghost powers to Cardinal :)
Ras creates an evil clone of Tim Drake for whatever reason and after he trains it it runs off and none of his assasins can find him.
Ras isn't too concerned because he specifically made this clone in a way that it would start to fall apart after three years and he fully expected the clone to come crawling back when that happened.
Except, the clone never came back. If fact no one heard anything from or about him since he ran into this forest three years ago and never left. His men searched that forest countless times and deployed his greatest trackers. They all said the same thing, his trail stops dead in a small grotto. There was no where he could have gone.
Its like he just vanished.
The evil clone turned out to have stumbled apon a natural portal and decided he was screwed if he stayed so why not take a chance. He could probably fight his way out of hell. Probably. The angry swarm of Assasins after him was probably going to be its own form of hell anyway, so why not. He jumped through.
The other side of the portal was not hell, thankfully. It was a small city in Illinois...for some reason. He began to patrol the city in his altered Red Robin Costume, looking for the basic necessities when he stumbles across Phantom who was in the middle of finally being captured by the Fenton parents.
Danny could do nothing as his parents were quickly killed in front of him. When he was freed from his restraints he didn't attack the other teen, he didn't get angry or yell. He cried and thanked him then cried harder.
The clone really didn't know what to do in this situation and just awkwardly comforted the ghost. Danny dragged this guy home when he found out he didn't have a place to stay. Clone Tim was planning on using the hero for a while before bouncing but all this plans changed when he saw what Phantom could do. That kind of power would be owned and controlled by someone eventually, whether it be the League of Assasins or the Justice League it was all the same. So why not him?
Danny was easy to manipulate, his sister not so much. Once he started pointing out that he was protecting Danny from people who would hurt him she became swayed.
He disliked Sam. She reminded him too much of Jason and Damian, or more accurately, a fusion of the two. The horror.
He genuinely liked Tucker, he was carefree and true to himself. Plus who was he to turn down an assistant for creating tech. He had discovered he was no longer in his own universe and the JL and LOA didn't exist here.
Tim Drake didn't exist here.
He was free.
The clone almost cried. He was Tim here. The real Tim. The only Tim. No one to prove he's better than. No one to the "the evil clone" of. Just Tim.
He was going to make the universe regret that. Starting by dating the ridiculously cute and over-powered boy that he most definitely is not in love with. No siree its just him using someone. His heart definitely isn't pounding in his chest right now as he asks him out. Nope. He definitely isn't super giddy when he says yes and kisses him. Haha that only something someone in love would do.
.
.
.
Crap.
-meanwhile in Batmans universe-
Ras casually explains he created an evil clone of Tim and its out there somewhere and its failsafe has somehow been destroyed. (Thank you Danny)
Tim freaks out and the batfam investigate. They do eventually open a portal into Amity Park where Evil Tim immediately tells them to frick off. So much chaos ensues

Cleaning Up Death and Crime Scenes Services
The flooded schedule of an EMS subject matter expert, how could it be that it very well may be conceivable to hold work with a bad behavior region cleanup firm? Because of the inconsistent idea of this independent undertaking, the absolute of staff required differs over the long run one day to another. A san antonio crisis tidying anticipate up to 4 specialists to thorough the bringing in a supportive arrangement. A little occupation, as a thriving related squander pickup, may conceivably just require an individual or two specialists. Fundamentally taking into account the inconsistency characteristic for the bio-risky endlessly purging exclusive business, various affiliations will have a center social gathering of prepared experts, with different a few others on an all set establishment. Crisis Suppliers Staff will basically by and large get work over a non military personnel while applying to work for a bad behavior region cleaning business.
On the appearance in a home any spot a passing has happened, expressly not long after a horrendous decimation, basic undertakings are finished by the police, fire fighters and CSI experts. Regardless, as a standard objective, these organization workers don't clear up the war zone. It is the responsibility of the misfortune's friends and family to wipe up not long after the enraged annihilation of their part. Until at last the most recent occasions, fundamentally several affiliations made open this extent of associations, thus, generally speaking, the loved ones anyway up achieving the work. This is a help that is expensive. Bad behavior region tidy up associations starts at some spot close $600 consistently. Furthermore, truly, by far most hurry to pay out more.
The reasonable up of a brand name destruction or a collapse is a piece of the sifting district. This is known as the CTS Decon or the Awful way of behaving and Injury Cleaning. This sort of tidy up integrates the launch of hazardous things. A perilous terrible way of behaving could be an individual of savage death toll that is regularly ruined or a scene that joins designed tainting. The cleanup staff returns the scene to the state it was in past to the episode occurred
SociallyPolite Commonly, a loved ones doesn't move out of their home whether the withering that happened in their home was a shocking one. It is the spot of the scene cleaners to kill the indications of the episode. This clearing out incorporates any bio dangers which had been the consequence of the awful way of behaving. Government rules consider all ordinary liquids bio perils. Typical liquids in this way consolidate the tissue or blood since they can be a heap of disorder.
A blood cleanup master should have explicit information on bio unsafe things in purchase to be in a situation to securely oversee them. Essentially, bad behavior region cleaners are proficient on what to show up for to clean in a withering scene. This sort of refining consolidates absolutely more than "essentially a mind-boggling spring cleaning". Grants are similarly required for anyone who necessities to move and arrange the bio hazardous squanders.
By a wide margin most today who come to be cleaners overall come from the expert clinical field. Since of their course of action of experiences in drug, they are prepared to oversee overview a horrendous scene. They could be clinical supervisors from a trama centers or a Crisis Clinical advantages Expert [EMT]. Building delegates are one more party of laborers who make significant bad behavior region cleaners. This bad behavior region cleanup has an exceptionally raised degree of harmfulness and toxic substances that are mixed in each surface in the lab and stays in the air.

Doctor Danny Fenton was an enigma to Bruce. Every word he spoke, every microexpression seemed to leak out a barely-contained rage, as if he were a boiler about to explode hidden behind a fragile mask of scientific professionalism.
Everything Dr Fenton told Bruce terrified him, and he seemed to revel in the exaggerated fear that Bruce played up, even as the most terrible things he admitted were shared as if they were nothing more than office drama.
"Ghosts are clearly non-sentient echoes of malevolent emotions. The screaming is just a memory of a trauma-induced response."
"Ectoplasm is a wonderful clean energy source."
"My parents built a portal to the ghost zone, and we use it to power this entire facility!"
"Our ghost hunting weapons are powered by ectoplasm, too. They're reasonably harmless to humans, at least as far as being literal weapons are concerned, but really pack a punch against ghosts."
"We've learned a lot about how to maximize energy extraction from ectoplasm by studying our prime specimen, especially after we figured out how to turn off its stimulus response."
Bruce felt like he'd walked into a nazi eugenics lab. Oh, how badly he wanted to find this "prime specimen" and escape with it. Instead, he stubbornly stuck to his role, swiping a random scientist's security card when the opportunity presented itself, to clone and give Oracle backdoor access to the facility's servers.
As much as Bruce wanted to break every bone in Dr Fenton's body, he was an absolute treasure trove of actionable intel, letting his ADD guide him from topic to topic with no concern for operational security.
In order to shut down this facility, they needed to find and shut down that portal. They knew there was at least one "specimen" that needed rescuing. They knew that the facility was armed with ecto weapons, which weren't that dangerous to themselves.
They knew that the anti-ecto acts needed to be repealed before they could even consider prosecuting Dr Fenton.
Barbara was able to get into the servers pretty easily once Bruce had gotten an in, and Bruce spend the rest of the tour memorizing the facility's layout and innocently asking questions of Fenton that would help Barbara continue digging.
Fenton constantly zigzagged back and forth through their tour, telling Bruce what was behind many of the closed doors even if Bruce wasnt allowed to enter, and even muttering the mnumonics he used to remember various things loud enough for Bruce to overhear.
It would have been endearing if not for the fact that he was carelessly admitting to casual genocide.
By the time the tour was over and Bruce was heading home, Barbara had gotten into nearly every file on the servers and was already distributing them among the Bats to read through.
All except one: a medium-sized file buried in Dr Fenton's workspace. It was, quite literally, sealed up tighter than Fort Knox. Niether she nor Tim could make any headway on it, and they informed bruce that they would need more info from danny to crack it unless he was willing to wait about ten thousand years to brute-force it.
Bruce had already scheduled to meet Doctor Fenton again tomorrow, so that wasnt an issue.
---
Dr Fenton had dropped his key card. He was in the middle of unlocking a high security door when an alarm went off, and he had bolted to go take care of it, not even realizing he had dropped the card.
It was a perfect opportunity. Bruce grabbed the card and quickly cloned it on his hidden card reader before putting it back on the floor exactly where it had fallen. Oracle would be able to doctor the security footage, so it looked like Bruce had never touched it.
The alarms turned off soon after, and Dr Fenton was back in less than a minute, apologizing for the false alarm and sheepishly grabbing his security card when Bruce awkwardly pointed to it.
Dr. Fenton apologized again, swearing up and down that he's never been that clumsy before. The tour continued as Bruce asked more and more questions, buying Oracle as much time as possible to break into the forbidden file. The security clearance wasnt the only thing she needed to open it, but having that brought down the brute forcing time from centuries to weeks, and she had a few other tricks to reduce it further.
Bruce continued needling for answers to any question Oracle had that might help her, and Fenton obliviously and distracted answered in bafflingly round-about ways that only served to give them even more actionable intel about the facility.
Apparently, the whole "harmless to humans" thing wasn't completely true. Humans could be ectocontaminated to a point where they *could* be affected by ecto weapons. But dont worry, if a human is that contaminated, they're already functionally brain-dead anyway.
(It explained why Jason got a nasty burn from one of the weapons they'd stolen from a field agent when he and Tim were disassembling it for study, but Bruce sure as hell was not going to declare Jason brain-dead because an unknown weapon had injured him.)
Bruce was being led to one of the offices to discuss financing, signaling that they were running out of time, when Oracle declared that she got the file open. Bruce asked for a private room where he could make some calls before committing to giving money to the nightmare of a research facility, and Fenton obliged, saying he should probably talk to the head of security about the alarm earlier and whether they had isolated the cause and had a solution to prevent any future false positives.
"Holy shit," Oracle muttered after a few minutes of silently scanning the files, "B, i think we might need to consider that Fenton is a double agent."
"What."
As much as Bruce didn't want to admit it, facts were quickly sliding into place. Fenton was FAR too talkative and had made Bruce walk nearly every hall in the facility at least three times.
He dropped his security card on purpose, reacting to a false alarm.
"Oh, shit," Oracle repeated, "he knows."
"Knows what, exactly?"
"That you're Batman," she answered with a solemn finality.
Had he *really* been deliberately helping their investigation? What did Fenton get out of it, though? Surely he knew he was encriminating himself, or did he think he could escape judgment by claiming to be the whistle-blower?
"There's a file in here that's labeled 'To Batman' that had an extra password protection. There was a clue given: Batman's most important date," Barbara paused and took steadying breath, "B, it unlocked when I punched in the date your parents died."
Bruce was grateful that the office he'd been left in had a chair. Dr Fenton was a ghost hunter. Had he ever crossed the ghosts of Bruce's parents? How much would they have known about Bruce, and how did Fenton extract that information?
"Let me read it to you," Barbara continued, "To Batman, i died when i was fourteen and am one of the very creatures this godforsaken organization has declared nonsentient. I used to protect my hometown from malevolent ghosts that came through the portal my parents had opened, but soon i found myself also protecting the innocent ghosts from my parents and this agency.
"When the agency started attacking the citizens of my hometown for being too ectocontaminated, i knew i needed to change tactics to stop them. My parents could not be convinced that their theories were wrong, and their research was used to justify a legalized genocide, disguised as pest control and clean-energy research. Both innocent ghosts and innocent humans were caught in the crossfire of their crusade.
"I decided to infiltrate the GIW, disguising my true nature with my parents' own inventions, and faked the capture of my own ghost's identity as my opening act. The "prime specimen" is my own duplicate, nothing more than an extension of my own will, given just enough energy to keep it from destabilizing as the agency continuously tries to study and experiment on it. In this one singular case, this particular ghost truly is a non-sentient echo, that i have continuously propped up to keep the agents distracted.
"Furthermore, the extraction devise i described to you that sits in room 304 functions a bit differently from what is written in its official documentation. I have never destroyed a ghost. I rescue them. The extractor is actually a portal. It opens up when a ghost is placed inside the machine, allowing them to escape, then harvests energy from the realms equivalent to the strength of the ghost that was rescued, giving the illusion that the ghost was destroyed in the process of harvesting it for energy.
"I can travel to the realms and retrieve any ghost that has been 'destroyed' by the extracter to prove I'm being honest.
"My home town has been quarantined by the GIW for being 'too contaminated.' While I've been rising in the ranks of the GIW and rescuing any ghosts i can, my friends and team have been protecting Amity Park and helping people escape. Go to coordinates xxx xxx to see for yourself what the GIW are willing to do to their own species. An entire city exists there that you won't find on any map, where every human has been stripped of their basic rights, treated no different from the ghosts that are studied in this facility.
"Rescue them first, then come back and rescue me, *after* you can prove the atrocities that the GIW have committed. Signed, Phantom."
Bruce understood now. The anger that Fenton barely contained wasnt aimed at the ghosts.
It was aimed at the agents.
Holy shit, indeed.
You Don’t Know Me
“We’re so glad you’re showing an interest in our work here, Mr. Wayne!”
“Of course! It’s just all so new!” Bruce said through a hollow laugh, “It’s almost unbelievable!”
“Believing in ghosts is the first step to finally getting rid of them!”
Bruce fought to keep his face flat as the director enthusiastically continued his tour of their facility.
Their ghost hunting facility.
Where they had funded and government sanctioned labs purely for the persecution of an entire inter-dimensional species.
“-Truly, the Drs.Fenton were an inspiration to the entire field of ectobiology! We wouldn’t know half the things we know about ghosts if it wasn’t for their early research!”
Bruce forced a thin smile, “Oh? Will I get to meet them? Or can I at least see some of their work?”
The man faltered almost imperceptibly, “Ah well.. that might be a bit, Fentons can be a bit.. overzealous and-“
“I’m sure it would go a long way to understanding the need for such a large facility. If it’s worth it even, perhaps I could fund an expansion…” Bruce let his voice trail off.
The man’s eyes sharpened at the mention of his financials- of course, what more could you expect from a shark who’d joined an operation like this- and the man quickly smiled.
“But of course Mr. Wayne!” He turned around, leading them towards an elevator, “Our labs are just downstairs, easy access you know, and well.. with any new specimens it’s always best to start right away!”
Bruce’s eyes narrowed. They already had subjects? Their reports, their research had indicated they weren’t there yet, but if they were, this could quickly turn into a rescue mis-
“-It’s an absolute honor that we even have one of the Fenton’s themselves working with us!” Bruce sharpened his senses, one of them was here? The people who had laid every base for a hateful crusade against another dimension, all for their own ambition?
“Our labs are right through here,” the director said as he pushed open a door, “Dr. Fenton is working with our prize specimen right now, I’m sure!”
Bruce quickly scanned and analyzed the entire room. Testing tubes, jars filled with green, centrifuges, a sample fridge, glassware, plenty of counter space, all taken up by various tools and materials. And standing in front it was the reason for it all, dressed in a white lab coat over garish latex.
He turned around as they entered, “You know me too well, Director,” the young man spoke, ignoring the green splattered over his gloves, “My work with him isn’t finished yet.”
“Mr.Wayne, meet our frontier scientist, Dr. Daniel Fenton.”
Bruce Wayne scanned the young man, no older than 26, with a height similar to his own and shoulders only halfway less.
A scientist. An unknown. A threat.
Fenton smiled at him, “Tell me Mr.Wayne,” Daniel said, and his smile went sharp, “Do you believe in ghosts?”
#i kinda sorta merged this prompt with another idea i had but havent post about#basically after a good reveal the fentons create a weapon that they sell to the GIW#they advertise that it destroys ghosts but its actually the portable portal bazooka just retooled#actually i think i might just make a post instead of describing it in the tags#also idk how danny figured out batman's identity here#but i think he and his team deliberately baited bruce wayne knowing the GIW would instantly become a bat investigation#theyre struggling to stay afloat and figuring out batman's identity was a huge break#allowing them to get attention without the GIW actually knowing theyre being investigated#the rest of danny's files are diaries documenting every meticulous detail of the day#he refers to phantom in the third person there but describes everything that the phantom duplicate experienced#its also reads disdurbingly clinicly detached because danny figured out how to make his duplicate not feel pain#and because he needs to keep both identities seperate for his own protection and sanity

The most controversial topic today isn't choosing a 5ghz router, or 5ghz wifi extender, or a 5g wifi adaptor. It's about safety and how dangerous 5G actually is, and has been proven. But it's shamefully ignored by too many selfish interests at our expense.
Wear this T-Shirt! Spread public awareness of this extremely important issue that will negatively affect everyone everywhere. And do your research about the FACTS because it can possibly and literally save your life and of those you love. Be proactive NOW!

Counter Offer: the Fenton parents realize after one of their experiments blows up their home since no one is taking care of the lab, that they can bunk with their kids in Gotham since the whole building was blown sky high... and Maddie didn't agree to stay with Vlad despite Jack's interest. (Some small stuff and the GAV survive, Portal and ops center is gone)
They travel to Gotham, exicted to see their kids and learn about Gotham's ecto readings, thinking they could rebuild fentonworks there.
(Could be any ship, DeadOnMain, DeadSerious, Green Elephants,etc... for Danny and Jazz could be Anger Management, JazzxBabs, etc..., but basically, Jazz and Danny become Nightengales to distance themselves from Fenton Sr.
Jazz works as a social worker since Arkham is a bit too much, despite it being her dream job and no one wants a Harley Quinn repeat.
Danny works as a part-time last responder vigilante and engineer or a small-time cafe with a liason with JLD for the Infinite Realms. The GIW are terminated, but there are still rogue agents. Danny could be King or Danny decides to diplomatize the Zone, and Danny is known as the Guardian of the Realms, the second anchor of the core, ancient of space near future, etc...)
The Fentons are able to enter Gotham, seeking out their children, but in actuality, their children don't want to see them. For all their show of love and support, they haven't apologized for all the damage they inflicted on their kids, the lack of parental maturity, the forced dangerous chores in the lab, ignoring their opinions and forcing their opinions on them ie. the ghost hate speech, and dehumanizing remarks about them and Danny, and finally, the portal killing Danny. They haven't even said sorry, and while the parents won't experiment on Danny, they don't apologize for the trauma caused by their actions by Danny being the outlier.
It becomes a race to stop the fentons from rebuilding the Portal, from more damage being caused in Gotham and from the parents to spill out secrets they are not meant to share. Possible death of joker with return of ghost joker to make things worse. Maybe fentons get jail, or they are harmed by a gotham villain for mistaking them as a ghost.
dcxdp idea where Danny's family ends up moving to Gotham bc of all the ambient ghost energy, and Danny's parents want to study how it's different from Amity Park's ambient ghost energy
(bonus points if part of the reason for the move was because either Jazz or Danny opted to go to Gotham University, and their parents want to make sure they're safe)
