Hi Trapped Towers followers sorry for radio silence TT hasn't been on the brain
However erm with Scarefest upcoming here's some fun facts about how the scare mazes will fit into the lore:
Scare mazes themed to rides will mostly be considered when writing that ride/areas story (i.e. Subspecies has its own whole section in Chapter 1). However, some scare mazes may be seperated (i.e. The Sanctuary).
There will only be a small handful of unique scare mazes that get their own featured moments in the main story. The rest will be considered for bonus stories and extra content no matter the form this story takes.
The scare mazes that get their own focus will be the ones that can be found in/around the Towers. Which is a lot. I won't be giving the exact line-up, and it won't be massive as they have a story to share along side Hex and a major turning point overall. That's all you get to know 🤭
Trust I am handling this story as well as I can. I want to be faitful and true to how Alton Towers has presented its stories, while also taking liberties and running with what I feel fits. Creating new spaces, characters, and more to tell the story I want to.
I'm still deciding how the story will be told too. But that will be found out some point in the future.
For now, I think TT may be taking a back seat while I focus on my career and my silly little game (AnoVerse). I hope to be back on this account soon enough though ❤️

~ Birthday Preperations with S.P.Y. ~

It's the 31st of May - which many of you may know is The Smiler's Birthday !! Now, while many residents of the Towers don't do Birthday celebrations - mainly because they can't - the Ministry of Joy is a bit different. They're doing well in the current climate and so they love a good excuse to celebrate.
This is where we bring is the Smile Protection sYstem. SPY is the sentient AI system living within The Marmaliser and Correction Block, watching all the advocates and ensuring smiles and order are kept intact. It can take two forms - it can take control of security cameras or screens and will usually be seen in it through either Smiler logos or spirals. It can see everything.

This however, also makes it the perfect planner for anything - and most of the time it takes charge of planning anyway. So, how does a sentient AI plan a Birthday party? Well it's quite simple...
To start, it creates a list of everything needed to be done, all activities, and more. SPY cannot cope without an order, and so even in events like this it's essential that said order is planned and maintained - as hard as the advocates can make it. Afterwards, it gathers a small secret team of advocates to help create the necessary - after all its a basic AI, it can't create art or cook or produce things like invites. It sure as heck can plan them and help get it set-up though.

Weeks go into creating these things - invites, food, games, etc. Invites are sent out a week before, and then overnight - using SPY's capability of viewing every area of the Correction Block - the team can set it all up without anybody seeing or knowing.
In the morning, all advocates are called into the main station to begin celebrations and be informed of what the day ahead has in-store. All advocates do get the day off, and many years see that even outsiders - such as Black Hole and Submission - join the party.

Many previous years have seen a certain popularity in activities. All advocates are rather good at Simon Says, and can get quite competitive and so it's become a tradition to play it. Sometimes SPY likes to mess with them by giving them orders that go against what Marmalisation does to the brain - though Smiles is pretty sure it's just trying to catch out whoever it needs to put through Marmalisation again. Same thing goes with musical chairs - in a few previous parties some advocates eventually give up just to get away from the music ! They aren't seen for a couple hours afterwards though.
Usually, by dinner, a majority of the activities are completed and done. Though there is always one consistant...

Pausing the daily TT posts until my assignments are done <3 Next post SHOULD be the anniversary artwork, however I may delay it because that's gonna take time
If it's not the anniversary art then uuhhh. There will be a post of some sorts on the actual anniversary. Not sure what if it's not the art but y'know
Next post will be next Tuesday no matter what. Then it may be another day or so. Just gotta see how things go y'know
Gonna start a backlog of posts and post ideas now though. Spend a day writing them up when I'm free 👍

Trapped Towers Logo Talk
Need a filler post, but not sure what's an easy topic to talk about so. Logo discussion woo
Honestly, the Trapped Towers Logo has been through a couple phases of existance y'know. Different styles, colour schemes, etc. However, my one true goal was always to reach something that resembled the Alton Towers logo and took it down a more abandoned rotted route.
The currently logo as it stands basically gets that, I can only see it changing based on the direction, because as you might know the logo at one point was also pixel art. It may go back to that if the game goes through... but we'll see.
Anyway I have no idea where else this is going so erm...

The Survival Trio ~ Last Hope of The Towers
Hiii hello everyone I figured it'd be fun to give y'all a preview on the relationship of our main trio - Tom, Terra, and Cyrus !! A fun (and hopefully shorter) post for the day.

Initial Meeting:
Terra and Cyrus had their first proper interactions shortly after the initial Nemesis attack. Terra found Cy wandering and keeping low around the Valley and took them back to the S&S Centre, making them the first member to join the team.
After Tom getting trapped, Terra found him while on the daily rounds about to be caught by Nemesis. They saved his life and gave him the rundown before trying to leave him at the Alton Towers Hotel to keep him safe... Tom didn't accept it and ran after Terra to join the S&S team.
Finally, Tom met Cy when Terra called in for help after being cornered by Nemesis. The initial meeting didn't get much talking time as Cy was having to carry Tom and Terra while speeding through the air and dodging all of Nemesis' attempts to catch the trio. However, upon landing and getting back into the Facility, the two finally got an introduction... which didn't go too smoothly.
Team Roles:
To start, the oldest of the group - Terra. They are very much the leader of the trio, the peacemaker and most rational. When Tom and Cy bicker, Terra will always be the one to pop in and shut it down. However, they can't be there at all times due to the fact that they're older and never were a fighter. So, to keep an eye on stuff, they will be constantly calling in on the two for updates, and sometimes to give new information!
Cyrus is the more experienced fighting mentor for Tom - however, they're also rather immature and quite dislike Tom's mentality and attitude as it goes against their carefree and open way of life. They're very reliable when it comes to saving a situation last second, always being able to wipe the floor with opponents in seconds.
Tom is new to everything, being rather uninformed and purely there under the vouch of Sir Algenon who saw something in him and let him chase after Terra to join the S&S. He's passionate, as much as he doesn't wanna show it, he has a strong will to escape Alton Towers and despite being completely new - he's adjusting quick and well. The gang doesn't know what caused Sir Algenon to see it in HIM, but he's already here and there's not much to be done.
Relationships:
Starting with Terra and Cy, they've been together since the beginning of Nemesis' reign of terror. Terra has seen a lot of Cy's worst moments, adjusting to the lack of freedom and coping with the new changes in their life. They've helped each other through a lot and have formed a bond in which they can trust each other strongly with whatever. It's rare for them to disagree, and even when they do they get over it quickly for the greater good.
Moving to Tom and Terra, they are interesting... because of Cy, Terra has become a lot more patient and understanding to people, however didn't quite believe in Tom initially. However, after hearing that Sir Algenon saw something in him, they reluctantly took him in. Only after the first mission though did Terra understand too, seeing that there was potential and so they took the role of an emotional mentor, wanting to see and help him mature. Throughout the journey, Terra is constantly nudging Tom within the correct direction to help him become a better person.
However, on the other end of this is Tom and Cy's relationship - which is very strained. Cy heavily dislikes having to 'babysit' Tom, while Tom is constantly being frustrated with Cy's treatment of him and wanting to be taken seriously - which leads to him trying way too hard and making major mistakes. In short, one wants to be free and not tied to a person, and the other wants to be seen and taken seriously. It's rare that they successfully work together, but either way they get through any opponent thrown at them.
The End:
I HAVE LITERALLY NO IDEA HOW TO END THIS !! :D
Um I hope that this was a neat little dive into their characters, there's still SO SO much more to go through. In-depth looks into how they act, what their personalities are like, etc. However this is all I think I'm gonna talk about with these characters for now.

Welcome to The Security and Survival Centre, the core centre of operations for your survival in the new age of Alton Towers.
History:
When Nemesis attacked, most Phalanx members were ordered to fight alongside the Towers' mascots to stop it. As we know, this led to the end of the Phalanx - who failed their only mission. All except one singular Phalanx Scientist, who managed to escape a brutal death by the creature. They retreated back into the Phalanx Research Facility, the building the Phalanx had been using to prepare and monitor the activities of Alton Towers. With all their colleagues gone, and their safety compromised, they began doing what they could to rennovate the building. Eventually, they found the Air mascot - Cy - too, who joined them in the new hideout. After the initial few months, they had taken all three floors of the facility and transformed it into what it is today!
Long gone was the Phalanx... now stood what is Forbidden Valley's last hope.

Layout:
The Security and Survival Centre (S&S Centre) is open to all and home to all your needs for surviving the current situation we face.
Floor 1:
Starting at Ground Level, you'll find yourself at the top of the facility. This is where all main communications and outdoor security equipment is stored.
Using our advanced super computer, as well artificial intelligence guide EVE, you can access a plethora of resources and information regarding the state of the land, dangerous creatures and how to handle them, and visual on activities that the S&S Rescue Team may need to finish which brings us to the second half of the first floor.
The S&S Rescue Team are constantly needing to go out to find lost survivors and new hazards in the Valley. As such, the first floor contains all necessary gear for heading out to face the dangers of Nemesis' minions. This equipment is free to use for all civilians and it is highly advised that you take some of the equipment before heading out. Alongside all of that is the Training Grounds for practice and preperation. Do checks of your gear in a safe and secure zone, or head straight to our trials to put your skills to the test. However you choose to prepare, the Training Grounds will make sure you're set to go out and fight the monsters of Forbidden Valley.
Floor 2:
Going down a floor, you'll find the Sleeping Quarters, Relaxation Room, Medical Centre, and the Strategic Planning Hub. For those wishing to stay with us and join the S&S Rescute Team, you will find your stay between missions to mainly be spent here. We've gathered what we can to make a comforting space amongst the hells of the outside world. Each soldier is designated their own Sleeping Quarter that you can fill with your personal belongings and decorations to make yourself feel at home.
On top of that, we have the Relaxation Room, a hub for everyone to relax during our downtime, play games, chat and rest up. All food and supplies are stored here too, so you can pick from a well stocked selection of snacks and drinks to enjoy. Of course, we also have the Medical Centre, where we bring any injured survivors to treat and heal. Current residents may also enter the clinic at any point to be seen by one of our doctors who will help with any physical or mental concern you may be facing.
Finally for the middle floor, we have the Strategic Planning Hub - the centre of our last hopes for the future. Here we hold regularly meetings discussing plan of action for the future, where to go, and how to act. All members of the S&S will have the opportunity to join us in this space and chip in to our plans of action and add ideas to the document. This space will be constantly used until we are free, so if you wish to become a part of the group that helps set the Towers free, this is the place to be.
Floor 3:
On farthest down floor you'll find The Lab - our main area for experimenting and creation.
The Lab is split in two halfs. In the first half, you'll find the testing grounds for "Power Shards", genetic enhancements, and DNA analysis. This half utilises the power given to us by the Towers to analyse and find new methods to combat the Nemesi aliens, and hopefully one day Nemesis itself.
On the other half is all engineering work and testing, using the parts we can gather to craft new machinary, weapons, armour, and more to help boost our day to day life. Upon new upgrade discoveries too, S&S members can visit this half to get this applied to their own personal equipment.
Through each day both halves work together to discover how both can enhance the progression and discovery of each. Sometimes, technology will be enhanced through the powers of the Towers, and sometimes our analysis for DNA can be enhanced through our new technological discoveries.
Deeper Beyond:
Our power supply actually heads further down than those 3 floors, with all power coming from the thermoelectric generators we installed in caves closer to some of the lava pools that now exist within the Forbidden Valley. Every now and then, we do have teams go down to ensure they're all looked after and kept up to date to avoid power outages. However, with the location and source - our data predicts we should be able to last off of it longer than any of us here will naturally live!

Hi guys, I remastered the first ever Trapped Towers track because I was bored. Did a doodle of Tom playing guitar to accompany it too. Fun fact about this - to get inspiration I willingly listened to My Chemical Romance for the first time. Did it really change the direction of the song no not really I was already adding guitars. But it sure did get me to listen to My Chemical Romance.
S'alright I will probably add some of their song in to a Tom playlist at some point.

Trapped Towers Dev History ~ How We Got Here (Final Part)

CORRECTION FOR PART 2: THE TRAPPED TOWERS REBOOT ANNIVERSARY IS IN MAY. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUNE. NO IT IS MAY 15TH. I GASLIT MYSELF FOR OVER A YEAR WHAT.
Hey again everybody !!
So we reached the beginning of the current stage of Trapped Towers last time, the official beginning to the reboot in May 2021. This final part will cover a bit less I do think, mainly because a lot of the old/scrapped content I think I'd like to go a bit more in-depth with in seperate posts. However, there's still stuff to go through. It's gonna be a lot less story of Trapped Towers and a bit more sappy emotional though, hope you all don't mind.
So, for the final time in this mini series - lets hope into it shall we?
May 2021 - Present ~ The New Trapped Towers:
I will always remember those first few months of the new TeamT VERY VERY fondly. It wasn't perfect, we weren't all fully motivated, but we sure were making progress slowly. TeamT was always very chaotic - and sure some of it hasn't aged great and isn't the best to look at, I should have cut some stuff instantly and cut ties with others quick - but nights like staying in voice call with some of the best team members I could have asked for just screwing about, playing video games and screensharing it in about the worst way, and coming up with some amazing ideas for the project. I'll remember those fondly.

Stuff like this is what makes projects like this worth it. The memories and friends - as corny as that is.
But hey, you're here for the story, not for the sappy "the real trapped towers was the friends we made along the way" schpiel. So, what happened in the months from the Trapped Towers reboot beginning? Well, we worked. We made songs. We made new concepts, new art, and more. The story I'd written made - and I won't say who and if they out themselves AGAIN it's their own fault - made somebody CRY. Have you ever made somebody cry from a story you've written. The initial thoughts is "oh no they're crying, that's sad I didn't wanna make them sad" but very quickly the giddyness hits.
Emotional aspects of storytelling are one of the things I've been wanting to hit for ages. To have somebody connect to a character and their story to a point where it brings genuine emotion - it's the best. Not only for the reader's attatchment and immersion, but to you. To know you managed to create a story that compelling that it caused that. I won't drag this out much longer, but it's really something I'm aiming for with Trapped Towers and I do hope to get you all with some of these plot points.
Back to the timeline though, things began to slow further around November, with most things basically halting in December - though shoutout to the artists and musicians who carried us that whole time. January was a break month, February we hoped to be back in action but things didn't quite resume for a while. April picked it up a little more, with new art and concepts and writing happening, but not much else.
It's not a satisfying end to this story is it. We just kind of... died off.
But it's not the end, is it?

This was something I said in the team general channel in February 2022 and I still hold by it to this day. Trapped Towers has been a major part of my life since the day it was first made, and it always will be. I'm forever grateful for how things have turned out, even if it feels like the project never gets anywhere.
So until the day comes where I can release this, I'll keep posting, writing etc. I will keep working until it happens no matter how long it'll take. That's the end of the timeline and sappy stuff for now though. Lets go through some content.

Y'know I put that a lot of this was made by old team members, and yeah especially in the soundtrack more people appear but a lot of this art is done by Madeline PFFTT. Shoutout to her once again @/evilredyoshis she was actually the goat of TeamT. Did so so much.
There's SO SO much content I could share here and I would love to share it ALL. Unfortunately I don't want to ram this post with too much. If we do get a game out of this, I'll be sure to include a gallery with EVERYTHING.
There's also a lot of great animatics done. You can guess who by at this point. I have already got permission from her to use her old work for all these posts, so I'll likely do a post dedicated to the relevant/appropriate ones and explaining a bit behind them.
But seriously to end this off, I just want to say again how grateful I am for everyone and everything that has happened to Trapped Towers in these past 6 years. To anyone who sees this if you were a part of TeamT, still (technically) are a part of it despite how nobody is really doing anything besides me lol, or if you've just been following the project. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Trapped Towers Dev History ~ How We Got Here (Part 2)

Hey everybody !!
Part 2 of the "How We Got Here" blog posts today. After covering the original Trapped Towers, Undertale AU territory, Megalovania Hell, and much more... we're finally getting to the original project side of stuff. Almost. A little more Undertale AU stuff to push through, but this is the transition period for it all.
So, without further ado - lets get back into it.
August 2020 - May 2021 ~ Seeing Change:
2020 was an interesting year. The end of 2019 had seen me begin to focus on original projects and ideas again, with Undertale content taking a backseat as I hadn't uploaded in ages. AnoVerse was born and pushed me to learn more coding than I had before. But as the months indoors passed by I ended up finding myself back to one place... Trapped Towers.
Looking through everything there was, this was the first time I'd gone "this really isn't that original or unique... I should make it more unique" and so that's what I started doing. Rewriting, designing, composing, crafting ideas galore for what a new Trapped Towers would be... but it was slow as I kept popping in out of it since I'd just start game development classes and they took priority, as well as my music which slowly began to get lots more attention than expected.
On the music side though, a plan began forming in my brain as the 3rd anniversary of Ministry of Death began approaching and my brain told me it was finally time to make Ministry of Death 4. A showcase of the new direction I wanted to take Trapped Towers, while also celebrating and saying goodbye to what it once was. I started building it up. I remastered V1 and posted it 3 months before MoD's 3rd anniversary. V2, remastered and posted 2 months before.
Then I got ill. And I couldn't finish V3 remastered in time for 1 month before... so I changed my plan of action. At the beginning of 2021, I teased Ministry Of Death 4 finally, with a snippet I'd already made showing that it wasn't just going to be another "megalovania". I then delayed V3 remastered to the initially planned release date for V4, and V4 got pushed back to my own 4th anniversary since I started making music - March 20th.
So V3 remastered happened, then eventually the day came for V4. I'll never forget it, it felt amazing that day. The love and support and excitement from friends, fans, etc over what turned out to be a ~7 minute orchestral battle piece was great. Seeing reactions in live time, getting messages and DMs... it was incredible. All the while too I had began to start pumping out ideas for the new Trapped Towers more rapidly than ever, creating a major document to contain all the information, dropping the Undertale AU title and beginning it's adventure into an original fan project...
This all led up to May 14th 2021, when I officially opened applications to join the new Team Towers (later renamed TeamT).
Old Content:
A lot of concepts and ideas between this time began to merge together as past this, TeamT basically had the base I'd provided to work with - but not every story beat was worked out yet. 2021 Trapped Towers was still filled with plot holes, blank chapters, under-developed characters and so much more. Not to mention when planning this the original reboot name was going to be "Trapped Towers: Revisited" ??? I just found that out from an old tweet of mine as I was looking that's CRAZY.

The screenshot of the "public doc" I did find, but the public document doesn't actually exist anymore as it got turned into an old private one. As much as I want to share an old document like that - this time period is entering when Trapped Towers story beats were starting to form properly and there is some major spoilers that are still relevant.
There's not loads else to share though so !! I hope you enjoyed part 2 of this small little series. I will ensure that part 3 is written up for tomorrow !! Until then, cya

Trapped Towers Dev History ~ How We Got Here (Part 1)

Hey everybody !!
Today I'm going to be introducing another type of post I can end up doing - development history/update posts! These will likely be rarer than other types of posts (after this 3 parter anyway), purely because development on this project is just pretty slow due to my lack of ✨ focus ✨ and all that. However, there is definitely some old development stuff I can talk about! Plus, for those of you who are new - you get to learn more about this project that has been ongoing since early 2018!
So lets get into this, shall we? It's going to be a lengthy read.
February 2018 - August 2020 ~ The Beginning/Undertale AU Era:
February 2018 was a time, by this point I'd spent almost a year making music for my friends and very small audience in the Undertale community. One day, I was simply bored and had no ideas - so my sister told me "hey make an Alton Towers megalo"... how I hadn't done it yet shocked me, I'd been going since 2014 and loved the place dearly. However, with a laugh I agreed and got to work.
A few days into creation, I began theory crafting the basics for an Undertale AU. The first ever concept for what would eventually become Trapped Towers - explains a lot about the name and premise though huh. I eventually uploaded a song or two for the AU, including the megalo I did finish - "Ministry Of Death".
One person found and covered the megalo. Then another. And another. And soon enough the whole thing spiralled - I would consider it to this day my biggest impact on the Undertale Community, even if it was still relatively small and not long lived. Either way, it got me to take the project a little more seriously... but quickly it spiralled into development hell. I was only 14 after all, if you asked me what a leadership style was I probably would have no idea what you were on about or given a dumb answer.
Reboot after reboot was attempted. New server after new server. Eventually though, one server was made and kept. However, the project had already fallen into more obscurity and my motivation was low, so I moved to new things. Every so often a new Trapped Towers post would occur, mainly new Smiler content as that's what really brought in people. Things would stay like that for a bit unfortunately though...
Old Content:
How about some art and concepts from the time though huh? For an Undertale AU it was... something. Tom wasn't called Tom and was literally just called Frisk. The world layout was just Undertale and I just made stuff fit - The Beornen were almost located in X-Sector because of Wickerman being the Grillby replacement. Th13teen wouldn't have really even been in the story as she was Gaster. Half the characters didn't even have designs! People loved Smiler and Enterprise, and any serious work focused on the Ruins portion with Terra. They were still trapped because Nemesis was too dangerous to be let free, however Nemesis was also in a permenant sleep - only prophisised to reawaken. It wasn't an active threat.

It's all quite funny to look back on. There's so many bits that clearly influenced the project as it is today. Many old designs haven't had drastic overhauls either, which is quite funny to think about... maybe I should get on some...
Anyway, with that brings the conclusion of part 1 of this 3 part blog series. The next two parts will come out day after day, with tomorrow being "August 2020 - June 2021" and Friday being "June 2021 - Present Day". Figured it'd be much easier for reading if I split them into a couple parts !! Also gives me a few extra days to consider what else I want to post haha.

Character Name Changes
Hey everyone!
tl;dr for those who don't wanna read - do I go with name changes or not, answer the poll thank you (if you're a new fan of the project, you may wanna read the post for context)
For those who DO wanna hear the explanation and information - hi !!
With the recent lore post regarding Air, you may have noticed that I've began calling them by a different name - Cyrus (or "Cy"). This is a part of one of the few changes I'm wanting to implement into Trapped Towers this year and I wanted to hear YOUR opinions and feedback on it.
Not all characters will under-go this change, some characters will stay the same. For example: Tom, Terra, and Nemesis are already quite fitting names for each character for different reasons. Tom is an OC so I have never minded his name. Terra is an actual name and I feel suits the character well (especially since it's not even their real name). And Nemesis is a part of the Alton Towers canon! She went unchanged (mostly) for Trapped Towers and I wanted to respect the name of the beast as a result.
However, some characters names have always quite literally been the ride name. Oblivion, Smiler, Black Hole, Th13teen... and as of recent I've not enjoyed that. I've wanted to seperate the rides and characters a little further because while they do represent the ride - they're not the ride themselves.
So you have a good idea of the direction these name changes will go, here's a couple concepts:
Air -> "Cyrus"
Oblivion -> "Lord"
Black Hole -> "Estella"
These are just a few of the ideas I've been trying to come up with. Once again, not every character will be impacted by this change - in fact chances are it will be a small minority of them, but that minority of the whole cast list is a majority of the major cast.
I'll be leaving the poll up for a week as I do some other posts and let people decide. You have time to think your answer through.
