Joyce is such a fascinating character to me cause she feels so... defeated? In a way that feels at the same time distinct and very similar to Harry. I think the reality lowdown sometimes gets written off as being manipulative, and maybe there's an element of that, but she's also self-aware and vulnerable in a way I can't imagine a woman in her position would ever be with Harry. And she seems genuinely sad about how everything turned out; she wants to be forgiven by Harry, and if you do, she doesn't feel like she deserves that forgiveness anyways. She's intelligent, and aware of history in a way that real world CEO and economic leader types rarely, if ever, openly admit. She openly regrets the way all that history played out, and it's so fascinating to me that she chose her idealogy and career while knowing and internalizing so many emotions about the revolution. She wanted them to succeed; but she's a survivor, first and foremost.
There's so many characters I wish we would ever get to see more of, but at least for me, Joyce seems like a character I'd really love to learn more about her past. Especially with how she talks about Cindy, it makes me feel like she had a revolutionary streak when she was younger; I doubt it was lost in any way that wasn't boring, life washing away her edges until all that remained was what we see in the game. Maybe it'd make her less interesting to learn more about her, but she's one of the most fascinating characters in the game to me, in a game filled with some of the most interesting and thought provoking characters I've seen in the medium.

Here is interesting bc Atsushi finds himself thinking what Dazai would do, when in the past that didn't work for him at all. The logical follow up (for me at least) would be he realizes he has to put Dazai aside for once in order to not be paralized and act.

#i think that Atsushi having so much trust in Dazai is so sweet. bc he already knows Dazai isn't a perfect person who can solve anything#<- what differentiates atsushi from other charas who think of dazai as nearly omnipotent#so this scene is interesting. bc in the face of a problem not even fukuzawa could resolve. he thinks of Dazai#knowing dazai might not have an exact solution. mmm i don't think i explained it right#that's case 1. case 2. is Atsushi is falling into a thought spiral and regressing into thinking he needs “help” or guidance to act#when in reality. the circumstances need him to act NOW. even fukuzawa told him straight to his face#(oh another ada member putting the weight of it all into Atsushi. if i was him i'd die of the pressure)#i lost my train of thought i don't remember what case 3. was. however#by bringing Dazai out of the picture bc he's in mf France still. he and Aku will face on the problem in their own way. and win#bsd#bsd 120.5 spoilers

Ngl, I’m actually pretty uncomfortable reading my old posts defending the goodness of the common people and their right to defend themselves—as persecuted groups or as individuals—from hierarchical tyranny, given how easily in this current irl moment a not-insignificant amount of people have fallen into supporting an active genocide, because I cannot separate this from how much pushback I got (and still sometimes get) for being consistent in my politics
#I don’t want to say it’s triggering#because that’s not the right word#but what do you call the thing you feel#when you spent the last 1+ year arguing that common people are usually good#and hierarchies of oppression are bad even if certain individuals you like are at the top#that violence is not all inherently bad#and violence against oppression is in fact good#all topics that are major themes affirmed in the literal texts being discussed#only to have people YELLING at me that i am wrong#because THEY believe that the only thing that makes you a good person#is joining the corrupt hierarchy and affirming status quo#only for me to turn on the news and see this same logic of disaggreers#being used to justify an active genocide#maybe it’s cognitive dissonance#because my understanding of fiction is always couched within the reality it was created in#but the fact that the same arguments can be used to justify crimes against humanity#in both fiction AND reality?#it makes the act of fandom discourse less… enjoyable#less innocuous

'Astarion outliving his friends and possibly SO' is angsty and good for those who like exploring the themes of bereavement and all, and it is a possible outcome (he's not helpless), but it is my firm opinion that there is still a damn good chance that guy is gonna die first and be outlived by them.

Can the balanced dog trainers please stop fucking talking about positive reinforcement as if those dogs are not “obedience trained”? A majority of competition obedience dogs I know were trained with R+. Letting your dog wander on the end of a line because you want to do so does not = untrained. It is simply…a choice.

Your essay on Joong's underrated acting skills deepened my Joong appreciation so much, that I watched Mafia the Series, I'm watching Ploy's Yearbook (even though there is a serious lack of Joong so far), and I'm planning on watching The Warp Effect too. I haven't watched het shows in over ten years, so this is a big deal! 😂 I really liked him with Dunk in their shows, but MTS gave me another facet of him, because he's so timid in it, unlike in SIMM and HA, where he's (seemingly) very cool and in control. So thank you for making me a full time Joong (and Dunk) girl 💜

AND THEN. you can imagine my surprise. i was crying tears of laughter throughout the show and i was actually laughing so hard that my mom made a comment about how she could hear my laugh in my room

i've adored them ever since simm which i watched live from ep2 onwards. fun fact, actually: when i started simm i actually had no idea who they were (even though technically i'd seen dunk in bad buddy already, except i wasn't paying attention to the random high school bandmates and so i didn't actually recognize dunk and only realized later on ahahah)
aaaanyway, i had no idea who they were, right? and so in 2022 my mom and i spent two nights in prague during easter and in the evening we were in our hotel room and we were kinda looking for something to watch. and i was like "hey look, gmmtv has a new bl out and it looks kinda cute and fluffy judging by the thumbnails?? and like something that doesn't require too much brain power?? plus, there's also only two eps out so far, so we'll be caught up right away" and so we watched the first two episodes and then the two of us ended up watching every new ep together every week hahaha
i actually didn't really talk about it on tumblr back then and when you go back on my blog you'll see that there are hardly any simm post. but really, with every new simm episode that aired i liked joongdunk more and more. and especially once the characters started dating i was actually so in awe about just how comfortable joong and dunk were with each other and how they absolutely weren't afraid to touch? like, their physical affection was just so casual, like it was the most natural thing in the world to them in an "i'm-not-even-thinking-about-it-bc-it's-so-normal" kind of way and that was just soooo refreshing to watch?? i was (and still am) truly amazed
and when just a couple of months later, at the end of 2022 gmmtv announced joongdunk were gonna get another show together i got SO excited!! and also when it was revealed that simm was included in our skyy 2!!!!
and then hidden agenda started airing and then i was tagged in that tag game and then i went to watch joong's entire filmography and then i ended up falling into a joongdunk rabbit hole and here we are...
anyway, i have multiple agendas and one of them is turning people into joong fans and dunk fans and joongdunk fans sllksdfd
and my other agenda is getting people to watch mafia the series, bc it's truly a gem of a show!!!!

#:)#forgive the lisposting even after everything but like#i watched a letsplay of episode 1 of DE and ough. bad.#i think the consensus will end up being 'great lis game if you can overlook the chloe stuff' but these people would be Wrong#not just because d9 are worms for the 'pricefield is outdated bad queer rep by 2024 standards' line#but because deck nine as a whole just embarrassingly fails to understand the magic inherent to lis#their whole thing is critiquing post-bae ending as 'unrealistic'#because in the real world under this scenario yes there's no way a couple like max and chloe could actually exist#but this is a stupid rationalizing of a magical choice. max and chloe chose to pay the price of feeding their cruel world to the storm#and received the divine reward of total and permanent escape from the violence and hurt that governed their existence#the storm wins and that brings with it a cessation of everything narratively constraining the two - both good and bad#which explicitly includes the cycle of abandonment and loss that went from max to chloe to rachel to chloe back to max again#ANYWAY pricefield survives by exiting the real world stage left as the only way#this is a world where people like them can't exist. so for them to thrive they must therefore break the world#and anyone viewing the events of ep5 as straightforward 'big storm kills town and life will never be the same' misses the point hard#and tbh the same is apparent in lis2 as an inverse of lis1#where max gains the power to choose to break the system that tormented her and her loved ones for good#sean is confronted with the inescapable mass of a bigger more institutional system that follows him no matter how far he runs#he will never break it or even dent it. but he can slip out of its jaws at the expense of never being able to return to it#lis1 and lis2 set a precedent of a choice between the world you know and the person you love#true colors meanwhile....does NOT do this. the world is not irredeemable or even kind of unpleasant in tc#bad things happen in haven springs but the game goes out of its way to attribute this to bad people acting individually#tc's final choices do not pit alex against her known reality. it turns something that could be systemic into something interpersonal#the choices are 'forgive a bad man or not' / 'live a cozy life in a cozy town or live a fun life on the road'#insipid and tepid and infinitely more 'grounded' as a cause-effect chain#in 'reality' max and chloe wouldn't get a happily ever after. in 'reality' sean never escapes america#in 'reality' alex is totally capable of living one of two pretty decent lives#max and sean's griefs are so powerful as to convince the audience to ask what worth there is in living in a world like that?#alex's grief is. mostly managed through emotional awareness and a decent support network#gabe dies and it's a condemnation of nobody except his killers. rachel and esteban spoke to the deep rot at the heart of the world

#people really out here acting like some chocolate is gonna kill you#idk maybe you should check how stats and data actually work and not just blindly trust things that get it wrong and such#because hate to break it to ya but increased risk does not equal absolute risk#it just increases the risk which is normally only by a small margin and doesnt mean anything in reality because it doesn't mean that it's#absolutely 100% going to happen that's not what risk or increased risk means#anyway this reminds of when a friend of mine took part in a study#and they were like oh yeah you have a 6% chance of a heart attack in the next 10 years#they asked if they lost weight would that decrease by a lot and the person was like uhh by like 1% it's really not the big deal everyone#makes it out to be people are just fatphobic because that's the society we've built that at all times you must be skinny#or you aren't worth anything or worse when people act like you're such a strain on the system#and that you dont deserve to have healthcare like i will scream#everyone needs to stop being so damn weird about it!!!!!!!!!!#it's literally fine it's so literally fine#you know actually thinking about increased risk with alcohol and smoking - to which is totally your choice and up to you btw#i knew someone who smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish and lived to his 70s and died of something completely unrelated#increased risk is just that increased by a certain percentage which is like not a lot in the grand scheme of things to really put it into#perspective when you have like 1 in 100 chance and the increased risk is 100% that just raises it to 2 in 100 which yes is just 1% to 2%#i will scream when people act like food is going to kill you - especially when it gets so bad people act like fruit is bad for you because#of sugar like i will cry i will start sobbing because all of this is why im pretty sure most people have disordered eating#if not full on eating disorders and that's the real concern how our attitudes make people change their behaviours and develop mental health#conditions because society is just so insistent on this one issue that you can't escape it's bad it's so bad and i hope one day#we get past all this and people can just live how they want without others getting on their backs#fatphobic people are the reason why so many people i know think they're worthless and ugly and i just that's so upsetting to me and yes yes#there's the major issues like doctors ignoring symptoms in favour of just lose weight! and then just send people into the world with 0 help#in that oh and oops now they've got an eating disorder when the problem in the first place was not weight <.<#and even if it was (which it rarely ever is) it's like okay where's the help then because there is no help and then study after study is#like oh btw dieting doesnt work lol and then what do you do what do you do im gonna start screaming hdfghsdfg#anyway sorry these tags are long im just so tired and so frustrated at the world and i hope one day people get over themselves

Ummmm it doesnt matter that character ages were removed from the Sonic character profiles they do still have their old canon ages and if you think that actualllyyyyy they never acted or sounded like those ages then youre a creep looking for excuses to put them in adult situations :/ Like thats child endangerment that you're depicting there???
