Hi! Would it be okay to ask for poems that radiate some kind of "red" energy? I saw your recommendations about the similar ask with blue and I really loved it, so I thought I could ask for more :)
Red and blue, twin poles of the world 💘I had to think about this one (red has a distinct vibe for me) but I think all of these feel "red" when I read them, in one form or another, if not always overtly, so I hope you enjoy them, too:

The big Kerubim analysis post.
Aka, "finishing the liveblog for Episode 46 - The Hacienda's Fever, and then going completely off the rails 2 lines deep."
It is so vindicating to finally get here, and be able to show you this line, after having spent the past 45 episodes talking about how the entire crux of Kerubim's character arc is his horrible, horrible loneliness, with only the subtext, and the comic, to back me up.
It's so... unromantic, that his entire reason for being with Lou is really mostly about loneliness, isn't it? Yet, it explains everything.
And to be fair to their relationship, this fear of loneliness is his reason for everything. The Achilles heel of his psyche, from which all problems stem.
So... I think it's the time to quickly wrap up the episode, and then analyse him, deeply.
Simone's appropriate, albeit pretty tragic, addition of "but all good come to an end", sets a perfect tone for the end of the episode, and the rest of this post.
And while it is a funny line, — because, for all his singing and dreaming, their romance has ended decades ago, — it also applies to his entire life, in a way.
Good things just don't last for Kerubim.
Kerubim and Atcham grew up in a big family, consisting of at least four other siblings and two parents, before being orphaned sometime before the age of seven, and ending up at the orphan temple.
Whether they were related to their mother, or adopted into the family, is irrelevant, — they both revere their legacy equally, despite the disdain they feel for one another.
Neither of them integrated into any friend groups in the orphanage, and ended up completely isolated, and at this time, where they should have been one another's support, their relationship fell apart.
It happened due to the mixture of Ecaflip's manipulation to further isolate Kerubim, and Atcham very likely being othered and bullied, being jealous of Kerubim's fur and protection by Ecaflip. They both abandoned one another out of jealousy and fear.
Likely, Kerubim first began to distance himself from Atcham, who began to close himself off from him, out of jealousy and anger, — which only led Kerubim to distance himself further, and develop a bond with ecaflip. A back-and-forth reaction.
The reason Kerubim spends his whole life trying to be an ideal of a hero and a man, whatever those may even be, is that he's seen first-hand that abnormality leads to rejection, which leads to loneliness.
But the next fear he has, related to loneliness, is his fear of being abandoned and disliked by his loved ones.
From his point of view, what happened with Atcham was that they were friends, and then, after their family was gone, Atcham blamed him for everything and decided to make killing him his life mission.
He can't bring himself to truly hate Atcham, because as an adult he understands how bad things were for him, — it doesn't mean that Kerubim doesn't dislike him, and have very valid reasons to do so, — but it stings. Because he doesn't dislike Atcham as much as Atcham dislikes him.
What happened between them was his first taste of rejection and abandonment, — and that memory, together with Ecaflip's slow chipping away at his self-esteem and threats, (both things — something Atcham was jealous of), becomes a killer combination.
Kerubim's first, and only, childhood friend was Bashi. They never understood one another, because neither of them is very emotionally intelligent, and their relationship fell apart. His other friends from childhood began to hate him too.
Abandoned again, — and it only reinforces this fear.
And so, his experiences lead him to take frantic actions to avoid often-imagined abandonment, and the pain it brings.
Whenever he has a conflict with someone, he flips between either hating them, and trying to hurt them before they can hurt him, — and hating himself, because if he keeps being left behind, it must mean he's not a very good person to be around, right...?
I'm doing character analysis here, but Bro.,, how did the writers give him BPD on accident.
It hurts his and Lou's relationship, his self-medication with danger and gambling also hurts their relationship. Lou's manipulation and insults also degrade their relationship. And their mutual cheating hurts it even more.
And then, abandoned again.
Despite their rivalry, he has always respected, even liked Indie, — but it hurts, because it feels like Indie almost never returned that sympathy.
And that's one more person besides Bashi and Atcham who he likes, and who doesn't like him back.
So overall, his life amounts to everyone he ever liked leaving him alone, again and again.
And the friends he still has aren't that close, — kept at a slight distance, lest they begin to hate him too. Even if he doesn't act that way, Kerubim doesn't think much of himself. His sole source of self-esteem is external validation. Mostly from Joris, by now.
Even friendly departures break him a little. Because good things just don't last, don't they?
Even Joris, — the best thing to have ever happened to him, — even the relationship he has with him, feels like it's running out of time.
It probably feels like his relationship with Joris won't last either, — he'll grow up, grow tired of him, and leave him too.
He's more than aware he hasn't been the best father he could be, and he's terrified of the moment Joris realises it, too.
Because that's the one relationship he can't bear to lose anymore.

Musketeers AU-
Bucci gang x fem/reader-part 1
Tw: HISTORICAL INACCURANCE.
Summary: Princess Y/n is running away from an arranged marriage with a man named Doppio.
The King Diavolo orders his faithful Musketeers Bruno and Abbacchio to find your secret refuge. Helped by their team-mates ( Fugo, Narancia, Mista, Giorno), they will do anything in their power to catch you.
"L’abbiamo trovata, signore!L’abbiamo trovata!!"
(We found her, captain! We found her!!)
“Quant’è vvera a Maronna! Fermati Ghirga!!"
(Stop running Ghirga! You’ll kill us both!)
The voice of a boy echoed into the rocca, excited as his approaching footsteps
“Fermati, Cap ‘e cazz.”
(Stop, you fool.)
A young lad with a cascade of messy blonde hair caught the frantic boy by the scruff before he could erupt into the royal guard office.
“UE PANNACOTTA!MA IO T’ACCID-”
(HEY PANNACOTTA!I’M GONNA CUT Y-)
Pannacotta, that was his name, quickly confiscated the crumpled document from the sticky fingers of his team mate, urgently knocking with his free hand so he could both hide the verbal assault and inform the captain of their arrival.
“Avanti.”
“Come in.”
Fortunately, the commotion was covered by the sound of two fencers' blades colliding with each other. Once they opened the door to Bucciarti's office, the two found him sitting at a very long table in the back of the room, carefully observing two young men practicing the art of the sword.
To be more precise, that wasn’t just Bucciarati’s office, the place was used as an armory and, consequently, a sala d’arme. To further confirm this theory, there was a huge tapestry hanging behind the captain’s back, depicting a knight killing a huge serpent with a sidesword.
Golden but faded letters embroidered in the whool recited “Sala D’Arme Achille Marozzo”.
The room also did have long wooden tables at each side, which meant people were more than willing to grab a quick bite between a sword match and another.
In fact, tenente (lieutenant)
Abbacchio was eating a small and yellowish polenta with both feet crossed over an empty chair.
He was visibly resting while also never giving his back to the captain, which made him look a little bit crooked in his position and also not totally comfortable.
Well, has this man ever felt comfortable in his life?
Pannacotta was not sure.
Meanwhile, the two fencing lads, Giovanna and Mista, were putting on a real show and since they were both newbies, they attacked and never defended themselves.
This made Abbacchio frown in annoyance and reluctantly turn his sight to the meal.
Contrary to Bucciarati, Abbacchio was wearing only half of his musketeer uniform, his soubreveste and hat were abandoned on a near chair a long time ago. However, his authority kept speaking volumes even when half dressed.
“Nzerra chella port.”
“Close the door.”
He gritted between his teeth, his voice deep enough to be heard between the clashing of the striscia.
Ghirga obeyed and swiftly followed his teammate, his eyes glued to the two schermidori as they carefully passed their presence.
Pannacotta solemnly handed the paper to captain Bucciarati.
“Si tratta di una testimonianza, signore. Ghirga l’ha udita e io ho avuto il piacere di trascriverla nei minimi dettagli.”
(it is a witness statement, captain. Ghirga heard it, and I had the pleasure of transcribing it in great detail.)
Bucciarati inspected the document. Raised his eyes and then frowned.
Eyes back on the paper.
This time, He raised his eyebrows and frowned again.
“O’ casino.”
(A brothel.)
The fencing stopped.
Bucciarati's tone was inquisitive tone while raising his head one last time. Abbacchio intervened, putting his boots down abruptly.
“Cu cazz stat’ riciend?Pigliat ca bott. Il re n’ sta ceccando a zoccol’. ”
(Who you think you’re kidding? The king’s not looking for a whore.)
“Pe tte e femmene so tutte zoccol’ tranne mammà e soreta, ma nu vaie mai n’coppo o casino pe paura de truva.’”
(Women are all whores to you except your mother and sister, but you never enter a brothel in fear of meeting them.)
Interjected Mista, a slim but toned boy in his 20s.
Approaching the table with his striscia holstered, Mista addressed his superior with a wry smile, eliciting a stifled laugh from Ghirga.
He looked kind of ridiculous. Mista was wearing a pair of patched pants and no shirt. However he clearly thought it was a good idea hiding his thick sweaty curls under an uncomfortable as well as ancient aventail…without wearing a gambeson underneath.
His companion, Giorno Giovanna, noticed Abbacchio slowly clenching the spoon he was using for the polenta.
“chiavt a lengua ncùl. Se tu fossi la metà bravo a parare con la spada quanto lo sei a sparare cazzate, non ti saresti ritrovato in un vicolo buio con un buco in più nello stomaco.”
(Shut your fucking mouth, if you were half as good at parrying with a sword as you are at shooting shit, you wouldn't have found yourself in a dark alley with an extra hole in your stomach.)
Quickly, Bucciarati silenced the conversation by elegantly lifting his left hand from Manciolino's“Opera Nova”.
Mista looked at his concealed wound on his abdomen, while Giovanna put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder.
“Ne sei assolutamente sicuro, Narancia?”
(Are you absolutely sure about this, Narancia?)
Bruno’s calming and reassuring tone ,resembling the one of a father’s, gave Narancia Ghirga the courage to speak with his heart.
“M’Adda murì mammà.”
(I swear on my own mother.)
Said Ghirga who never spent a single word from the beginning.
“Si addà murì mammà n’altra volta...”
(Well, she can’t die twice…)
Interrupted Abbacchio scattering the plate on the table. The polenta was so stiff it didn’t even flinch a bit, remaining in its position as one of the most drunk front line soldiers.
“Me l’ha detto Una.”
(Una told me.)
many "ooohs" raised softly, followed by heads nodding and looking at each other, which made Narancia Ghirga genuinely smile. By contrast, Pannacotta put a hand over his eyes; royal guards should never reveal the nature of their witnesses.
Trish Una was the love child of King Diavolo, and for years he had kept her at court as a mere courtesan. One day, the maiden in question made a deal with a wealthy merchant named Pericolo and left her father's palace as quickly as possible, just like y/n did.
In exchange for certain secrets coming from the royal court, the royal guards had agreed to keep Trish hidden from her stepfather.
“Quella fimmina ne sa UNA più del diavolo.”
(That maiden is more cunning than a devil.)
commented Mista with a smirk and a dreamy expression.
“E suo padre ci farà il…Diavolo a quattro!HAHAHAHAHAHHA!”
(And what's better than a devil you don't know? A devil, you do!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
He added, bursting into a huge laugh with tears in his eyes.
"Ci andremo io e il tenente Abbacchio. Voi altri pensate a rendere confortevole l'ala ovest"
(The lieutenant and I will take care of that. The rest of you will stay here. Take this as an opportunity to prepare the West Wing's rooms for our soon to be host.)
Everyone got silent after Bucciarati's order. Pannacotta was brave enough to respectfully interject:
"Con tutto il rispetto capitano, ma un bordello non è di certo un posto privo di canaglie. Non sarebbe meglio attivare tutta la squadra?"
( Not to be disrespectful…A brothel is not a safe space in the slightest. Wouldn't be better if we all went?)
"Fermate nu mument'. Se agiamo in gruppo, potrebbero prenderla come una minaccia. Quanta probabilità c'è che un'intera unità abbia deciso di entrare in un bordello tutti insieme e appassionatamente?"
(Wait. If we went there as a group, we could be perceived as a threat. All one big happy family? How likely is it that an entire unit has decided to enter a brothel like one big happy family?)
Added Giorno while receiving a Death stare from Abbacchio. He hated when the newbie was right.
"Non so gli altri ma io come regalo di compleanno un po' me lo aspetto…"
(I don't know about the rest of this "Family", but soon is going to be my birthday and I wouldn't mind if this were my present…)
Nudge nudge, wink wink.
"Il punto è che se gli diamo modo di capire che siamo venuti lì per lei, ci inchioderebbero subito e cercherebbero di nasconderla o farla fuggire".
(The point is that if we appear too menacing, they would immediately try to hide her or make her escape.)
"Giusto! Quei posti hanno un sacco di stanze strane piene di trucchi e trappole."
("Right! Those places have a lot of weird rooms full of secret holes and traps!)
"Si vede che non sei mai stato in un bordello."
(you-You've never been to a brothel, don't you.)
Whispered Fugo while all the looks turned to Bruno.
"Um..giocare sulla casualità, potrebbe funzionare. Dovremo essere affabili…ottimo lavoro Giovanna. Ogni giorno dimostri di avere nuovi assi nella manica."
(Um…it would be easier to pretend this visit is casual and not planned. That could work. Great Job, Giovanna. You find new ways to amaze me everyday.)
Abbacchio's teeth were grinding but whst was on his face looked like anything but a smile.
"Jamme, jà"
To be continued...

Killers in The Stars
Part 1
MAJOR TW: sexual assault/themes, abuse, murder, suicide
First and foremost, before we get into all of this, I want to make it very clear that this is purely for research and interest purposes only. I have been saying this for years and will say this until my dying breath; everyone has the potential to be a killer. Everyone has darkness in them. It is all about how you process and make friends with your own darkness and how you process and deal with your own anger, shame, regret, or fear. Your emotional and intellectual environment during your most formative years are extremely crucial to your development into an adult, however, that cannot be fully to blame. True crime is very interesting to me, mainly because these people chose to become their darkness and chose to make it who they are, and that is one of the most important things to remember while studying topics like these. Once you are an adult and responsible for your own actions, it does not only fall on to your past and how it contributes to who you are now, but also falls on to you as an adult and why you chose to go in whichever direction that led you to where you are now. Everything is always a choice. Please remember that.
In this study, I have compiled a list of natal charts belonging to twelve different types of killers from around the world to be analyzed and compared for dominant similarities. There is no guarantee of the times of birth, but for the most accurate reading and determination, I have used the information that was available to me. This analysis is limited only to the natal charts listed below. I will try to keep the analyses short due to the inherently long nature of this post! :3 xoo

Birth Charts + Analyses
In this section, I will be mentioning a few things that particularly piqued my interest in studying their birth charts and their cases. My main focus will be on their luminaries, personal planets, and how the nodes, the ascendant (AC), the imum coeli (IC), and Midheaven (MC) interact with them. I also calculated asteroids: black moon lilith/mean (h12), dark moon lilith/waldermath (h58), lucifer (1930), sado (118230), nessus (7066), chiron (2060), dejanira (157), karma (3811), nemesis (128), atropos (273), achilles (588), and pandora (55) just out of curiosity, but they will not be included in the analysis. If you’d like to know more about what each of the listed asteroids mean, each one is linked for more information for you to deduce what they represent.
These analyses will be spilt into two posts due to image count restrictions.
Andrei Chikatilo
Born in Ukraine in the year of 1936, Andrei Chikatilo is known as the Soviet Serial Killer, having murdered 53 people (officially confirmed) and is suspected to have killed another 56 people (unproven). Chikatilo was born into a poor family of collective farmers, coming earth side during the recovery period of a severe famine in Ukraine, and had never eaten bread until the age 12. His childhood was, in his words, blighted by poverty, ridicule, hunger, and war.
Discovering his impotence as an adolescent, Chikatilo turned inward, directing his anger, awkwardness, and despair toward himself. He was not very successful with women, due to his insecurity, and had committed his first sexual assault by the age of 17. His adolescence was filled with failed romantic relationships. He succeeded in vocational school, after being rejected from university, then began working in construction in Urals, Nizhny Tagil. After being drafted into the Soviet War from 1957 to 1960, he settled back into his native village upon return from the war, but was unable to stay due to his failed relationships and word of his impotence spreading.
Chikatilo committed his first recorded crime in Shakhty, Ukraine on an innocent 9 year old girl named Yelena Zakotnova. His killings were very heavily linked to his insecurity and rage surrounding his impotence. He normally would strangle his victims and stab them repeatedly after attempting and failing to rape them. His only way to achieve sexual arousal, he discovered, was through stabbing and slashing women and children to death. He recalled the urge to be overwhelming and struggled to resist the temptation for many years.
The murders he committed were truly horrific and inflicted unspeakable pain upon his victims. Many were found with multiple suffocation or strangle wounds and stabbing and slashing wounds to the head, neck, chest, and pelvic regions along with evisceration. He was sentenced to death and shot execution style on 2/14/1994 in Russia for his crimes.

Modality: Mutable / Water / Pisces
Planets: Jupiter (25%), Saturn (14%), + Mars (12%)
Signs: Pisces, Virgo, Libra, + Scorpio
Chart Ruler: 7H Virgo Neptune (17°)
🔪4H Gemini Chiron R (23°) conjunct Gemini IC (22°): This indicates emotional fragility and instability in the home, during his childhood, and within his own personal wounds. Chikatilo’s IC conjunct the asteroid of wounds is quite powerful as he clearly felt very fragile and weak throughout his entire life. The Capricorn degree of 22° on his IC is so profound here as there is a theory that it is the degree of “kill or be killed” and he certainly was both; rather a “kill and be killed” in his case. His greatest wound was his impotence and he let it destroy him. His Chiron is also opposing his Jupiter and TN which not only made this journey his purpose but also his fate.
🔪8H Scorpio Moon (5°) square 5H Cancer Pluto (28°): Indicates powerful and transformational emotions that can become overwhelmingly dangerous if not contained. His desire for control over his sexual ability and women/children became all-consuming, leading to his violent actions. He seems to have been a deeply vengeful, paranoid, and self-pitying individual that kept all of this darkness inside until he unleashed it when facing sexual or romantic rejection. His emotions were not only extremely intense but extremely volatile. 5° is the first degree of Leo, indicating there is still much to be learned and worked on with his Moon, and also can indicate childishness; which makes sense with his immature reactions.
🔪7H Virgo Mars (12°) square 9H Sagittarius Jupiter (20°): This aspect indicates the potential to become an aggressive and impulsive individual. Jupiter expands the qualities of Mars in the worst way possible in this case, as he was certainly known to be violent, unpredictable, and highly aggressive. His kills speak for themselves quite clearly. He had difficulty forming intellectual and romantic relationships which fueled his insecurity and anger. He was most likely everyone’s frenemy and rarely kept people close, especially with his Scorpio Moon. There was also a great deal of friction with his sexual energy, personal and sexual relationships, and experience in higher education.
Beverley Allitt
Born in the United Kingdom in the year of 1968, Beverley Allitt is known for being The Angel of Death, wreaking horror upon new parents and their sick infants during her career as a hospital nurse.
There is not much information on Allitt’s early life. She grew up in a village called Corby Glen with a brother and two sisters. Her father was a liquor store employee and her mother was a school custodian. She was known to baby-sit quite frequently, and at the age of 16, Allitt dropped out of school and started nursing courses at Grantham College.
Allitt allegedly appeared to be quite charming, nurturing, and kind; or at least that’s what she wanted people to see. No one suspected of any wrongdoing from her until a pattern started to reveal itself. While working as a nurse at Grantham and Kesteven Hospital, she took four precious lives, attempted to take three more, and severely injured another six infants. Her methods of murder were either by administering insulin or large air bubbles into their intravenous system. No one knows her motive behind her senseless treatment of these poor infants.
She reportedly said to her close friend that she would never go to prison and there is a theory that she showed symptoms of Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. She refused to eat after her first week in prison, leading to a psych evaluation, and she remained in prison due to the initial court ruling that she was not mentally ill. However, she reportedly admitted to all of the murders in a failed application, in order to stay at a mental institution and avoid prison. None of the victims’ families were notified of this confession. She is currently serving her time at Rampton Secure Hospital in Nottinghamshire and will potentially be eligible for parole very soon; if she isn’t already.

Modality: Mutable / Water / Pisces
Planets: Pluto (22%), Neptune (17%), + Mercury (14%)
Signs: Pisces, Libra, Virgo, + Scorpio
Chart Ruler: 11H Virgo Pluto (23°) + 10H Virgo Mars (7°)
🔪Scorpio AC (1°) conjunct 1H Scorpio Mercury R (1°) + 1H Scorpio Venus (9°): This aspect indicates the potential to be a very charming and inviting individual. Allitt was most likely highly intelligent, talkative, and visually appealing to some. People often recalled as finding her pleasant and charming. She probably used her words to her utmost advantage, especially while committing her crimes, in order to fool the staff into thinking these deaths were accidental. She surely only let people see and hear from her what she knew was acceptable, especially as a Scorpio ascendant, mercury, + venus. She was quite skilled in keeping aspects of her personality and mind hidden from those around her; and I’m sure some people felt like they really knew her (but sadly they truly had no clue).
🔪11H Virgo Pluto (23°) opposition 5H Aries Chiron (0°): This indicates a transformation of personal wounds; but with an opposition aspect, there can be some friction. With her chiron at 0°, her inner wounds were most likely quite profound and difficult to ignore (as the degree and aspect forces her to focus on healing/improving). This aspect can also indicate becoming a healer, and whether you are healed or not yourself is another thing, as many people continue to work in healing professions and are broken themselves. In this case, she most certainly used her gift as a curse upon her patients. As we do not know her reasoning for her crimes, it can be difficult to ascertain exactly what she was thinking and feeling leading up to the murders and what demons were possibly tempting her. But with this aspect it certainly means the regeneration of her inner wounds were always meant to either uplift or destroy her.
🔪11H Virgo Pluto (23°) conjunct 11H Virgo Jupiter (21°): Indicates large and powerful goals/ideals in an individual. There is a hunger for power and influence here as well as a potentially large hubris. It was clear fairly early on what she wanted to do with her life and she intended on getting there; which she certainly did thanks to her unwavering determination. People that she let in closely probably found her to be quite an intense and controlling individual. In this case, the severity of her actions did not discourage her, even when she was facing serious prison time. It is clear that she did not properly handle the energy of this aspect nor use it to her advantage; letting it consume her instead. This is a perfect example for this aspect of how quickly one’s luck and power can be lost if it is used for ill will.
Cary Stayner
Born in the United States in the year of 1961, Cary Stayner is known for being the Yosemite Park Killer and the brother of a kidnapping victim (Steven Stayner), later being revealed at the age of 37 as a violent and sadistic murderer of women.
Stayner was the first of five children, becoming a big brother to three sisters and a baby brother, Steven. When Steven was 7 years old, he was abducted by a child molester named Kenneth Parnell, and held captive for 7 years. When Steven was 14, he managed to escape his captor and reach safety, reuniting with his family. Stayner recalled feeling quite neglected while Steven was missing and then felt overshadowed by the attention after Steven’s rescue and return. Steven unfortunately passed away in a motorcycle accident in 1989 and is survived by two children.
Stayner claims that what happened to Steven did not contribute to the reason that he is a killer, though others would disagree. He apparently began fantasizing about murdering and abducting women since he was 7 years old, before his brother was abducted. At age 3, Stayner was diagnosed with trichotillomania and medicated for it, although it did not help and his condition worsened as he aged. He was bullied heavily for the bald spots that resulted from his disorder.
Between February and July of 1999, Stayner took the lives of at least two women and two teenage girls. 42 year old Carol Sund and 16 year old exchange student, Silvina Pelosso, were found burnt beyond recognition in the trunk of Carol’s rental car. Carol was strangled and shot while Silvina was raped and shot before being burned. While Carol’s 15 year old daughter, Juliana (Juli) Sund, was also raped and later found with her throat slit. The police made their discovery via two maps that was hand drawn by Stayner himself, directing them to the bodies on the map. Stayner disgustingly wrote beside Juli’s marker on the map: “We had fun with this one.”

Modalitiy: Fixed / Earth / Taurus
Planets: Saturn (16%), Sun (15%), + Neptune (15%)
Signs: Leo, Virgo, Capricorn, + Cancer
Chart Ruler: 8H Scorpio Neptune (8°) + 11H Capricorn Jupiter (29°) R
🔪6H Leo Sun (21°) conjunct 6H Leo Mercury (20°) + 6H Leo Uranus (25°): This aspect indicates potential for a highly intelligent, undefinable, and rebellious individual. Sun conjunct Mercury is the most common conjunction that can appear, however it still indicates intelligence and a sense of similitude between the core self and the mind. Stayner was known to be an avid learner and skilled student while in school and work. With The Sun in a separating conjunction with Uranus, it adds an aspect to his ego and self where people do not know what to expect from him; and it is up to him on whether that result is good or bad. In extreme cases like this one, it is possible for the individual to have and experience streaks of violence, unpredictability, and infectious thoughts.
🔪11H Capricorn Jupiter (29°) square 8H Scorpio Neptune (8°): This indicates the potential for extreme ideals, fantasies, and optimism, and if used inappropriately can manifest into something quite dangerous. It can create a sense of feeling untouchable due to living in their own fantasy and their own perception of reality. This energy shows itself quite clearly in his brashness of sending a hand drawn map to the police guiding them to the crimes he committed and especially making light of what he did to his victims. This also shows an unrealistic expectation of receiving some level of fame and recognition for what he’s done; when in reality it is truly horrific and never reached a level of recognition that he truly desired.
🔪6H Leo Uranus (25°) opposition 12H Pisces Chiron (4°): This aspect indicates a separation between the subconscious soul and daily life, work, and health. The way he felt personally was met with opposition with the way in which he cultivated his life. This also can indicate that he most likely was not aware of this energy as the 12H is a very private and personal house. This aspect can cause unpredictable changes to soul wounds and bodily heath as well. Also with his Chiron (early/young degree of 4°) so close to the ascendant and 1H (which includes Aries) and opposing his 6H Uranus (25° of Aries), it would make sense that he developed a sudden and subconscious mental condition relating to the head as a child. This aspect along with the first one (imo) really proves to me that his brother’s kidnapping had a much larger effect on him than he was aware of.
Charlene Gallego
Born in the United States in the year of 1956, Charlene Williams (Gallego is her married name) is known as one half of the Sex Slave Killers of Sacramento, who worked with her husband, Gerald, to hold their victims captive as sex slaves before killing them from 1978 to 1989.
Charlene was a bright and intelligent young child, born into a busy and well-known family, with her father as VP to a chain of supermarkets. Her mother and father would travel frequently for business, but when her mother was severely injured in a car accident, Charlene took her place and her mother’s responsibilities for the business. As a young adult, Charlene took a turn for the worse, starting to drink and use drugs. She was despised at work due to her overtly flirtatious nature and was deemed a nyphomaniac by her peers; she is also rumored to have fantasized frequently about lesbian sex and often pushed her romantic prospects into threesomes with strangers or their own wives.
Charlene had been married twice before meeting Gerald Gallego on September 10, 1977 in Sacramento, California. Within the first week of knowing one another, Charlene moved in with Gerald, and happily acted as the submissive partner in their sadomasochistic relationship. Charlene apparently enjoyed Gerald’s sodomization of her and his preference of rough intercourse. Not soon after this, Gerald brought home their first victim, a 16 year old exotic dancer, who is not named. They proceeded to have a threesome, but the women were only allowed to touch Gerald, and not each other. When Gerald returned home from work later, he discovered that Charlene and the 16 year old has been sexually active without him, and Gerald threw the girl out of the window in a rage and beat Charlene. This incident caused Gerald to completely shut Charlene off from him sexually and he was no longer interested in her as a sexual partner.
Due to this, he told Charlene he would require two sex slaves to satisfy him, and without question Charlene followed his orders. Gerald and Charlene would abduct in pairs with Charlene being the brains and charm while Gerald was the brawn. They held these victims hostage, letting Gerald rape them for countless hours and when he was satisfied, he would shoot them dead after bludgeoning them with either a shovel, hammer, or tire iron. One of their victims was even buried alive after her abduction and assault. Charlene escaped the death penalty due to accepting a plea deal to testify against Gerald and allegedly later told a cell mate how ecstatic these killings made her feel. This contradicts her statements given much later, as she remains constant in her claims the she was also a victim, and attempted to save some of the lives of the young girls. She was released from prison in July of 1997 while Gerald died of cancer on death row in 2002.

Modality: Mutable / Earth / Virgo
Planets: Mercury (17%), Saturn (17%), Mars (13%)
Signs: Virgo, Libra, Pisces, Leo (also Scorpio)
Chart Ruler: 6H Leo Uranus (6°) + 9H Sagittarius Saturn (0°)
🔪9H Sagittarius Saturn (0°) square 7H Leo Pluto (29°): This aspect indicates the potential for difficulty in accepting transformation of the mind and of relationships/partnerships. With Saturn at 0° (the purest expression of whatever sign it is placed in) in Leo, there was possibly a strong urge to resist expression and higher knowledge. This aspect can create a great deal of resistance if not handled appropriately; resistance between behavior in romantic/platonic relationships, open enemies, and business partnerships and belief in higher education, philosophy, and higher powers (gods/deities/etc.). She also most definitely had some tumultuous relationships and interactions with others.
🔪8H Libra Sun (17°) square 11H Capricorn Moon (8°): Indicates friction between the needs of the self/ego and the needs of the heart and emotions. It can feel for these individuals as though they are torn between what/who they want to be/what direction to take and how they want to feel/what they should feel. Especially with this energy being yin (Capricorn) and yang (Libra); there was certainly tension here for Gallego. She most likely felt quite perplexed in who she really wanted to be and unfortunately she took the wrong turn; one most would never take. This aspect is the only thing that could slightly make me believe she could be telling the truth in her trying to save some of the girls from their deaths.
🔪11H Capricorn Moon (8°) trine 7H Virgo Venus (5°): This aspect indicates the potential for a very kind, caring, and appealing individual. This energy is even more profound with the aspect being involved with the angular houses. Not only was it smart for Charlene to be the “brains” because she is a woman, but she has the ability to tap into this aspect of herself; where people feel that they can fully trust her. This a wonderful aspect to have, but everything has its cons, and she certainly used it to her advantage in the absolute worst way. This aspect can create a calming influence on others, specifically her relationships and her community, which can make her appear as though she wouldn’t hurt a fly. Having her moon in a scorpio degree added a mysterious effect to her that I’m sure people were drawn to as well.
Charles Sobhraj
Born in Vietnam in the year of 1944, Charles Sobhraj is known as the Bikini Killer, preying upon western tourists visiting his country and brutally taking their lives. His killing spree went on from 1963 to 1976 and spanned across several countries.
Born Hotchand Bhawnani Gurmukh Sobhraj, Sobhraj was born to an Indian Sindhi father and Vietnamese mother. Coming earth side into a region under the power of French colonial territory, he was immediately eligible for French citizenship at birth. His parents were never married and his father denied paternity, so Sobhraj was raised by his mother and French step-father. He felt neglected by his family due to the biological children they eventually had together and began to act out by committing petty crimes as a teenager. He served his first prison sentence in 1963, and it became evident that he had a great way of persuading and manipulating others to get what he wanted, as he was allowed to have books in his cell.
After his release from prison, he became a scam artist and burglar in order to maximize his riches, during which time he met his future wife and mother of his child, Chantal Compagnon. They were frequently on the run from arrest, moving countries to evade the law, while still robbing and scamming citizens of their current residence. All of the profits from their crimes were used to feed Sobhraj’s growing gambling addiction. He lived his life constantly on the run, which explains why his victims span over so much distance from each other. Eventually, Sobhraj left Chantal, due to her growing tired of their criminal ways, and Sobhraj continued his life without her and their daughter, Usha.
Sobhraj would pose as a drug dealer or gem salesmen to attract tourists his way. He actually converted quite a lot of people as accomplices in his deceitful and devious crimes. Many were intentionally poisoned and he would nurse them back to health to gain their loyalty. His method of murder varied and wasn’t quite specific but included drowning, burning, poisoning, and strangulation. His victims were normally found wearing bikinis, hence his title given by authorities, and Sobhraj served many years in prison in India and Nepal for his crimes. Sobhraj enjoyed the infamy his case brought to him and sold the rights to a film based on his life for US$15 million. He was given compassionate release from Nepalese prison on December 23rd, 2022 and is presumed to still be alive.

Modality: 4 Cardinal / 4 Fixed / Ambiguous
Planets: Uranus (17%), Sun (12%), + Pluto (11%)
Signs: Leo, Virgo, Cancer, + Gemini
Chart Ruler: 9H Leo Pluto (6°) R + 8H Cancer Mars (4°)
🔪5H Aries Sun (16°) trine 9H Leo Jupiter (17°): This aspect indicates the potential of good fortune and luck for an individual. However it can also indicate a person of a large ego and identity to the point of feeling as though they are invincible as well as only seeing the bigger picture and not noticing the small things. The hubris can be quite great here as Jupiter expands the ego/needs/wants of The Sun. This can also create an individual that can reach a status of wealth at a certain point in their lives and do very well in higher education and long journeys if they pursue them. It is quite clear in Sobhraj’s case that he used this energy to his advantage and was able to capitalize quite largely off of his life story and evade police over several years and countries.
🔪6H Taurus Mercury (4°) square 9H Leo Pluto (6°): This one screams Sobhraj from a mile away. This aspect can create intensity and passion in a persons words and their mind. In his case, it specifically affects his 6H and 9H, opening potential for difficulty in daily life, health, work, higher knowledge, and long journeys. His interactions with others was most likely intensely and intellectually challenging. He has strong thoughts with strong opinions of his own and it is clear that he didn’t let others get in the way of him turning his thoughts into a reality. He also drew up a large amount of criticism from the public due to the way he chose to live his life and make a living. Harsh criticism can be a theme here when one has such strong opinions and ideals.
🔪10H Virgo Moon (22°) square 7H Gemini Saturn (21°): Indicates the potential for friction and restriction with emotions and the ability to form relationships. It seems that Sobhraj was good at making surface level/initial connections with people but certainly not deep ones. This aspect can make someone a loner, one whom keeps their heart close to their chest, and is not keen to easily open up. It can also indicate emotional suffering as a child and a large restriction of emotions as an adult if not properly addressed early on. It is clear that he did not do as such and could be one of the reasons why he felt no empathy toward others and their suffering. He felt neglected during his childhood and seems to have completely cut himself off from his family once he became an adult which definitely hindered his emotional growth.
Christine Malèvre
Born in France in the year of 1970, Christine Malèvre is known for taking at least 30 lives while working as a hospital nurse, having confessed to some murders then recanting; causing speculation of her true intentions.
There is no information on Malèvre’s early life and only on her trial, sentencing, and controversy surrounding her recanted confession. Malèvre faced life in prison for the murder of seven patients from 1997 to 1998, despite being suspected of taking much more than that amount. In France, their laws do not allow euthanasia, even if the patient is terminally ill. Malèvre’s reasoning for the murders were that the patients wanted to die and she was helping them cross over; which she stood by firmly and even wrote a novel about. She received an outpour of sympathy from the public during the initial phase of her trial and she was hailed as the “champion of euthanasia”. Over 5,000 letters were sent to her in support and she was even being supported by the Principal French Association Supporting the Right to Die.
However, when details of her trial were made public, society turned on her. Prosecutors never bought Malèvre’s reasoning and neither did the families of her victims. The families vehemently denied that their relatives ever wanted to die nor would they ever ask her to help them to do so. This caused the public to shift in favor of the victims’ families. Malèvre was also named the “Black Widow” by her colleagues, which prosecution used to their advantage, and told the court that she has a morbid fascination with death and illness; which by killing, satisfies this fascination.
Despite her pleas of innocence and stating that she was under duress when confessing, there was too much evidence against her word. Prosecution used a report provided to them that confirmed her fascination with death and disease- as the report stated that patients were three to four times more likely to die during her shifts as a hospital nurse. Shortly after Malèvre was released on bail, she attempted suicide by taking drugs to avoid prison, but was unsuccessful. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of six of the seven patients under her care and was permanently banned from working as a nurse. She is currently living out her days at François Quesnay Hospital in her hometown of Mantes-la-Jolie, France.

Modality: Cardinal / Earth / Capricorn
Planets: Sun (12%), Neptune (12%), Venus (11%)
Signs: Capricorn, Pisces, Virgo, + Scorpio (also Aquarius)
Chart Ruler: 9H Aquarius Moon (29°)
🔪 9H Aquarius Moon (29°) square 6H Sagittarius Neptune (0°): This aspect can create the potential for personal bias and living in one’s own fantasy due to confusion of what is real and what isn’t. Neptune can cloud The Moon with expectations that are not realistic. This could be an indicator for Malèvre, as still to this day, she claims that she is innocent and did not mean any harm to her patients or their families. Although, when this energy is not properly handled, these fantasies/emotional needs can become a veil over what is truly reasonable and expected of a person. This can cause friction in her relationships with her co-workers and in her work environment. It is clear she was not willing to pull the wool from her eyes and see the error in her ways.
🔪 7H Capricorn Sun (19°) conjunct 7H Capricorn Venus (16°): This aspect indicates the potential for harmony within the self/ego needs and sex, romantic/platonic relationships, and beauty. The Sun is blessed with the qualities of Venus and can create a very pleasant, charming, and refined individual that seeks comfortable environments. People are often drawn to these natives and their affectionate personality. With this aspect occurring in the 7H of relationships and open enemies, and also an angular house, this energy is certainly amplified. It’s likely that Malèvre was well liked throughout her life and found an ease in forming relationships with others. Malèvre was initially very well liked and believed by others during the first phase of her trial and I’m sure this aspect played a part in it.
🔪 8H Capricorn Mercury (26°) trine 4H Virgo Pluto (27°): Indicates the potential of an intellectual interest in the taboo, macabre, and dark aspects of life. Individuals with this aspect tend to be very skilled and determined in what they choose to do. This aspect can create a very psychological mind that is drawn to subjects and skills that are intellectually challenging. With this aspect interacting with private houses, it makes sense that this energy might not have been immediately felt or noticed by others. Malèvre is rumored to have had a dark fascination with death/disease and this aspect is a clear indicator of that being true. Manifestation of this energy can either reach an extreme level when Pluto is not well contained or can be used to benefit one in deeper communication and intellect.

Drop Them Bones Chapter 4 notes
land ho! (nautical) Shouted by the ship's watch to inform the crew that land has been spotted. Synonyms: land ahoy
First of all, I was so surprised and excited when GHOST _WARD, now cower-inside made fanart for the last scene of Chapter 4! So much love for them!
Science note, Nami is referring to island formation via volcano in her discussion of the island chain.
Recipes harmed in the making of this chapter:
Kedgeree - If you like eggs, curries, rice, and fish, this recipe is all things good in the world.
Tomato Chutney - While I'm sensitive to nightshade, tomatoes don't immediately disrupt all my bodily functions like peppers, so this recipe gets employed and adapted in our house when anything calls for chutney, salsa, etc. I don't recommend using canned tomatoes for it, but I trust that Sanji can make anything edible.
Conch fritters - We're not huge fans of frying noms, but I couldn't resist this one. You'll find that often any cooked snails are basically beaten/drowned/diced until they're unrecognizable as snails, then served. Like, I've had escargot in Paris and all I can say of the experience is "garlic! butter! chewy!" and that I loved the bread that came with it.
Pan fried plantains - Plantains are one of those staples that just make everything better and so many cultures have different ways of preparing them. I prefer ripe plantains to greener (think maduros vs tostones), and I love sweet plantains with sticky rice and caramel sauce for dessert.

Ch. 56: The Festival of Ice
MONDAY - WINTER 8
“Have to say, I’m a little surprised to see you out and about.”
Achilles bit back a frown and dusted his gloved hands after shooting Leah a small wince. “You were the one who texted me to come here to help, weren’t you?”
“Yeah, true. Wasn’t sure if you’d come through, though.”
“Right. I appreciate your faith…” Achilles rolled his eyes as he squatted to the ground. “Now come on. One, two, three…”
With a grunt, Achilles and Leah lifted her ice sculpture onto a metal cart. It creaked under the weight, but held steady after a slight wobble or two.
“She’s beautiful,” he said with a nod at the figure looming above. The mermaid had been exquisitely carved in a nearly six foot tall block of ice, and no detail had been left unturned. Each individual scale had been etched with care, every flowing ringlet of hair, every crease in her smiling face.
“So impermanent, though… especially today.” Leah swiped her finger along the already-glistening tail fin, scrutinizing the water droplets that came away with a furrowed brow and a long sigh. “But I guess that makes the art better in a way, don’t you think? More meaningful…”
“Sure.”
“So, are you gonna come to the festival or nah?” Leah leaned against the handrails of her cart. “You sort of look like you could use a nap, no offense.”
“Thank you for that,” Achilles said drily, pinching his nose. Damn, did he really look that rough? He had blowdried his hair this morning and everything. “No, I’m going, at least for a little. I was going to return this to Elliott, I finished this morning.” He patted his messenger bag where Elliott’s novel was stored.
“O ho!” With a clap of her mittened hands, Leah began to push the cart towards Pelican Town, Achilles by her side. “Finally. He’ll be excited—well, he’ll be excited to see you no matter what, he was getting worried—hey, what did you think? He won’t let me read it yet.”
“It was good.”
“Was it actually? I won’t snitch if you say it was terrible.”
“No, it was good.” Achilles felt his wan smile strengthen as he repeated his response.
“Hmm, he was thinking of doing a book reading this week. Nothing fancy, maybe in the saloon… He hasn’t gotten round to planning it, you know how he is. Takes him damn forever to do anything… ope!”
The cart gave a small lurch as it rolled over a stray rock, but Achilles was quick to hold the mermaid steady.
“Thanks.” With a heave, Leah pushed the cart forward again through the inch of slush on the ground and they continued on their way through Cindersap. “Eh, can’t criticize him too much, though, or I’d be a real dirty hypocrite… wanted to tell you, took me forever, but I’ve finally gotten around to posting on those social media accounts or whatever they’re called that you set up for me way back when. The website, too.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah. It’s been good. Really good, actually, I’ve even started making prints, too, as a bit of extra quick income… there’s a Mr. K in Zuzu who keeps buying my candles… I’m 98% sure it’s Kel, but hey, can’t complain, if he wants to keep giving me his money, I’m all for it… the power of the Internet. Who’d have thought.” Leah surprised him with a little pat on the shoulder. “Thanks, Achilles. I’m glad you persuaded this here old lady to do it…”
*****
Elliott, as Leah predicted, was overjoyed to see Achilles, embracing him with his usual bone-splintering squeeze before receiving the now-marked up copy of his novel with both hands and a solemn bow. He had graciously waved aside Achilles’ apologies for the delay, but had been more than eager to accept his offer to organize his book reading as recompense, nodding earnestly, wide-eyed like a puppy, as Achilles shared his thoughts aloud.
“—we can still have catering, but the museum’s going to be significantly more atmospheric a venue than the saloon, I’ll speak to Gunther—”
Then something slammed into him from behind.
Achilles’ arms were suddenly pinned to his sides—breathless, he had been lifted straight off the ground. Alarm bells began to ring furiously in his head, his vision began to cloud, and Achilles found himself reaching for a sword that wasn’t there. But in looking down for a hilt, he saw instead a pair of hands squeezed tight around his chest.
What the—
A flurry of laughter—so close, why was it so close, get out of my mind—managed to break through the sharp ringing between his ears, and then a voice exclaimed, “I did it!”
Nearly gasping for breath now, Achilles managed to twist himself around, only to see Alex beaming brightly, his face mere inches away.
“Wh—What?”
“I did it!”
“You did what—wait—” Desperate to quickly calm himself and refocus, Achilles shook his head to disperse the sirens currently ringing between his ears. “You—you got the job!?”
“Oh! No, no I didn’t. Or at least, not yet.” Alex nose wrinkled for just a second as he glanced down at the ground in thought. But he was quick to return, bright-eyed, to his usual grinning self. “No, I just did my interview, just got back.”
“Ahhh,” Achilles nodded as his heart beat continued to return to normal—or perhaps, just a bit faster than normal, for as his panic cleared, he was now dully aware of the arms still wrapped around his waist, even though his feet were now resting firmly on semi-solid slush. “Ho-how was it?”
“Great! Or, at least, I think it was pretty good.”
“I’m sure it was.” Achilles attempted to take a small step back. He was too close, much too close. It was liking looking at the sun.
Alex took the hint and, without missing a beat, relinquished his grip, taking an unconcerned step back of his own. Achilles already missed the warmth of his touch, but it lasted only for a second as Alex swung his arm around his shoulder and began to march him towards the drinks table where Elliott and Leah had both rather speedily and stealthily scampered to.
“Yeah, they actually asked a lot of similar questions to what we prepped! Used a lot of the stuff we practiced. It was good. I felt good!”
“Good.” Why was his voice coming out so high? What was he, 12? And Yoba, for goodness sake, was he capable of anything more than one word answers today? “Great! I’m… glad it was helpful. Fingers crossed, yeah? When do you find out? How do you feel now?”
“They said it’d be real soon… but I figure, why stress about it, right? It’s outta my hands now.”Alex poured two glasses of sparkling cider, handing one to Achilles. “My first real job interview! Worth celebrating, you think?”
“Hmm? Oh. Yes. Yes, of course—”
But Alex cut him off with a hearty, self-aware laugh, swinging his arm around Achilles’ shoulders again as they made their way through the small crowd to the sad field of snowmen. It had been a rather warm Festival of the Ice this year, even by Achilles’ east coast standards. The town had woken this morning to only a light inch or so of snow now that had since already begun to rapidly melt. The ice fishing competition, to the dismay of Willy, had had to be canceled.
He glanced to his left and caught a glimpse of green eyes glimmering under the fierce Winter sun. The sight alone was enough to send his stomach swooping.
God. He’d do it right now. He would tell Alex. He had to tell Alex. He’d decided it the night before—
What makes you happy, Achilles? What makes you feel better? What do you want?
What? Or who?
Achilles stopped before a funky snowman with pinecone eyes. Took a deep breath and turned to Alex, who was now waving merrily to Penny two snowmen over. “Al, I was wondering—“
“Young man.”
A soft crunch of well-trod snow followed the curt interruption. Achilles recovered somewhat smoothly from both his surprise and his irritation and turned to greet George. Had he been following them? Alex’s grandpa was alone as he wheeled closer to the pair. Evelyn was still over by the rather sad and drippy igloo that had been erected that morning, handing out little bags of cookies—it was strange; Achilles had rarely seen the two separated during festivals.
“I’d like to talk to Achilles in private, please, Alexander.” George gave his grandson a sharp nod. Confusion crinkled his brow, but Alex had never been one to ask too many questions—something Achilles had been grateful for, at least until this moment—and with only a shrug, jogged towards where a few folks had gathered by the river.
For a beat, the two watched as Alex tackled an unsuspecting Sam into a bush.
It was Achilles who finally broke the silence. “How can I help you, George?”
George glanced around for folks nearby before wheeling closer. In a low tone, he said, “Yes, yes. We’ll just cut to it, shall we? I would like you to refrain from sharing your… unnatural habits with my grandson.”
Achilles’ stomach began to churn. “Pardon?”
“You’re a nice young man, Achilles. But I don’t want Alex to be taught against our values.”
“Oh, I do apologize, I didn’t realize mock interviews were against your values, I’ll be sure to—”
“Don’t play dumb with me, young man,” George snapped. But the old man seemed to regret his tone, and, after coughing lightly into his fist, reached into his pocket, withdrawing a small square he then offered to Achilles. “I found this on Alex’s dresser.”
Nosy bastard…
But Achilles played it cool, offering a quick glance at the photograph from Spirit’s Eve, his face impassive even as it warmed at the sight of Alex’s lips upon his cheek. “I’m afraid I’m not quite sure what your point is exactly, George.”
“I understand this is who you are—and let me assure you, I have no problem with your choices, young man. But Alex is better than this, and I do not want him to be involved with that lifestyle—”
“It was Spirit’s Eve, George.” Allowing himself to look slightly exasperated now, Achilles handed the photograph back. “We were recreating something from the comic books.”
George, however, continued to stare stonily, his thin lips pressed hard into a thinner line than usual.
“Look, what is it specifically you want me to do? Stop talking to him? We’re friends, George.”
“And I understand that. I simply ask that you keep your predilections and preferences to yourself. You shouldn’t be teaching Alex these behaviors—”
Teaching Alex behaviors? Fuck you, do you think I’m fucking blowing your grandson in my living room—
Achilles managed to restrain himself from delivering a retort as graphic as that, though he still managed to snark, “Noted. I see now—I apologize, I’ll be sure to put a stop to the ‘How to Be a Raging Homosexual’ powerpoint presentations—”
“This is not a joke, young man—”
Achilles flushed. He took a step back, digging his boots into the snow, and in a heightened voice, said, “Why are you coming to me? You don’t trust Alex to make his own decisions—”
“That boy has had a very difficult childhood, he doesn’t know what’s best for him, and he needs guidance in the right direction—”
Perhaps the Achilles of yesteryear would have fought back. Perhaps he should’ve fought back. But the Achilles of now recognized this was not a battle he would win today, and in a flat tone, he simply said, “This is an incredibly disrespectful conversation that I’m afraid I really don’t have the energy or patience to entertain any further. I’m going to leave now. Have a nice day, George.”
*****
Fuck George. Fuck all of it. The fucking audacity of it all…
Alex was a grown ass man, he could make his own fucking decisions.
He stomped towards the river, the remaining chunks of snow crunching underfoot with each step. Alex was up ahead, his arms slung each around Sam and Sebastian as they all laughed at something Abigail was saying…
George couldn’t stop him. He’d ask for a private word, maybe pull Alex to the side—or maybe, he’d do it in plain view of George, make a point of it, that would really rile the bastard up…
“Hey there!” Alex gave him a little wave and stepped to the side, making space for Achilles to join the circle next to him. “You okay?”
“Fine. Just… tired.”
“You look it,” Abigail sassed, blissfully ignoring both the withering, darkly-rimmed glare with which Achilles returned her guffaw and the exasperated, somewhat pleading look Alex shot her.
“What’d my grandpa want to talk to you about?”
“Oh, just…” Achilles glanced at the expectant faces around him. Perhaps now wasn’t the best time to chew out Alex’s grandpa—although from what Alex had told him previously, Sebastian would be sure to empathize, having apparently been on the receiving end of one of these little chats himself… “He was just saying… well apparently, I’m a really thorough teacher. Who’d have thought? Someone tell the Zuzu school board, put in a good word.” He ignored Alex’s puzzled look to flash Penny a smile.
Alex lowered his voice as the group resumed their previous conversation and tilted his head ever so slightly closer to Achilles’. “You sure everything’s okay? It sort of looked like you two were… arguing.”
Why don’t you ask him about it, Alex?
But that wouldn’t be fair, would it?
Achilles began fiddling with the end of his scarf. “Yeah, no, he just wasn’t… particularly happy about what I’ve been… ‘teaching’ you.” Not a lie. Not technically. George’s own words.
“Oh. Really?” Something small tugged at Alex’s lips. “He seemed pretty excited when I told him I thought the interview went well, though… I was hoping maybe they’d be excited for me, or… proud, maybe. Is he mad? I just… I just don’t want to upset them, you know? Or be a burden anymore…”
It was Alex’s little sigh that got him. The disappointment in his eyes, the small droop in his shoulders, the biting of the lip. In that moment, Achilles knew what he had to do.
“Nah, that’s not what George was talking about, man.” He gave Alex a swift pat on the back. “He’s really excited for you. No, he was talking about… something else, something stupid, it wasn’t important, don’t you worry about it…”
*****
“Well! I do declare, I thought young Alexander looked quite happy today, if I may say so myself.”
Achilles had joined Elliott and Leah after the Festival of Ice had (prematurely) ended in its damp, dripping glory. Rumor had it Lewis was on the warpath, cursing the skies, cursing the governor, cursing even Yoba for the day’s temperature, though it could be said the weather cared little to be called an “uncooperative member of the community.”
They sat scattered among the limited seating in Elliott’s seaside cabin. In fact, Achilles had chosen a seat on the floor against the frame of the bed, while Leah lay supine above him atop the quilt.
“Eh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen ‘young Alexander’ look unhappy.” Leah popped her gum as she took the mug of freshly brewed tea their host was offering to her. “Confused, maybe. But unhappy? Nah. Man’s got a resting happy face, like those funky marsupials. Quokkas?”
“All the same, I found his enthusiasm much elevated upon his encounter with—”
“Weren’t you going to ask him out?” Leah swung her legs over the edge of the bed and abruptly squatted down next to Achilles who nearly choked on the lollipop he’d taken from Elliott’s leftover Spirit’s Eve stash. “I thought you said you were going to ask him out.”
“I—I was.” Achilles grimaced as Leah’s sudden movement sent his own tea splashing onto his hand. “I was going to. I came very close, actually, but…”
“But…” Elliott leaned down from the piano bench he had dragged over, one eyebrow cocked expectantly.
“Please don’t tell me you’re afraid he’ll turn you down, you coward. After everything Elliott and I have witnessed—”
“No. No, that’s not it—”
“Yoba, so what are you afraid of?”
“Please, let the man speak, Leah!” Elliott cried, jumping from the bench to join them on the floor.
“Yes, let the man speak, Leah. Sheesh.” Achilles set down his mug. His hands itched for a pen and paper to help organize his thoughts, but he had left his usual notebook at home, and so began to trace invisible lines along the hardwood with his finger instead. “Now, look I’m not afraid of anything—it’s just—okay, three scenarios: first, he’s straight. Not interested. That’s fine. Second, he’s not straight, but also not interested. Also fine—”
“Is it though?” Leah gave him an aggressive poke in the neck.
Achilles scooted an inch to his right.
“Third scenario. He’s not straight and he’s interested.”
Leah clapped her hands. “Incredible. Amazing. Perfection. You ask him out, he says yes, boom, boom, done, happily ever after. You know, I’m actually ordained—”
“No.” Achilles shot her an impatient glare “Look, I’ve thought about it and… well, at the risk of sounding like a narcissist—”
“Buddy, we left that station long ago—”
“—I think he might… like me, too.”
God, it felt so arrogant to say aloud. Not to mention embarrassing—in all likelihood, Achilles was simply projecting. Simply reading too much into each and every one of their interactions, his smiles, his touches, his care. Except—
“And I as well, my dear friend!”
There it was. Elliott’s validation. And Leah’s, too—surely it couldn’t all be in Achilles’ head if both of his friends had picked up on something as well, right? Or were they merely projecting alongside him? Wishful thinking… what were the chances?
And yet… George today. After Achilles had managed to calm himself down, their little snit of a conversation had got him thinking. Why had George accosted him? Was it purely due to the photo from Spirit’s Eve, or was there something more to it? Had Alex said something at home? Something indicating a… possible interest in Achilles? As much as he had hated the conversation, and as much as that conversation was fueling this difficult decision he had now made, he couldn't help but feel somewhat… hopeful.
Too many possibilities. Too many questions and not enough answers, but Elliott could always be counted on more morale support. He took Achilles hand and continued to voice his thoughts.“Now, is that not what I’ve been saying these past few weeks? Young Alexander has surely been by shot by the arrows of Cu—”
But it was Leah’s turn to shush. “There’s a big ‘ole ’but,’ here, Ell. Come on. Let’s hear it.”
“Right. Well, I just… if that is the case, that he, you know, is interested, I just…” Achilles drew his knees close to his chest and traced the rim of his mug, searching for the right words. “Well, we all know Alex. He… he cares a lot, you know?
“And I don’t him to feel… torn. Between me and George. You all know how George feels about… well, you’ve all heard him call me ‘unnatural,’ right? The old fuck…” He forced a dry laugh that neither Elliott nor Leah returned. “Alex cares so much about his grandparents and their approval… he just wants them to be happy, and it just… wouldn’t be fair to force him to choose.
“Even if I tell him that it’s fine, that I understand, that we don’t have to do anything or be anything, that we can just stay friends, he’s going to feel… guilty. That he can’t give me what I want without also… I don’t know, disappointing George.” Pissing him off, more likely…
Leah stirred. “I mean… but would George have to know? If you guys got together? I had plenty of secret girlfriends back in the day…”
But Achilles shook his head, having already thought this through. “That’d be even worse. He tells them everything. It’d be wrong to expect him to keep something like this a secret, it’d drive him mad…
“So I’ve decided I’m going to… let him take the lead. If he feels… the same way about me as I feel about him… I want him to come out on his own terms. When he’s ready. I want to give him time, and let him decide on his own—without any unnecessary stress or any unnecessary guilt—what he wants, and if he thinks that it’s worth going after.
“As I said, if he’s not interested, telling him how I feel would be fine. But if he is, I just feel like confessing would be… selfish. Like would I be doing it for me or would I be doing it for… us?”
Elliott had been nodding somberly to his right as he spoke, and as he finished his words, now took his hand again, giving it a warm squeeze.
Leah, on the other hand, only popped her gum before saying, “So you’re going to wait?”
“Yes.”
“For how long?”
“For forever.” Achilles laughed and blew a pretend smoke ring from his lollipop. “No, just until someone else comes along for me, I guess…” But words rang hollow in his heart. Could anyone else ever make him feel a fraction of the way Alex did? There you go, always thinking of yourself… “Or whenever he… inevitably finds someone else.” He thought of Tanya. “I won’t sit around and pine.”
“And if no one else ever comes along? For either of you? Worst case hopeless romantic scenario.”
“I don’t know.” A sudden thought inspired a brief snort. “Then until George dies.”
Elliott gasped, reaching to clutch invisible pearls. “Achilles!”
“That’s the spirit, probably won’t even have to wait too long—”
“Leah, please! My goodness, the both of you…”
They laughed at Elliott’s dismayed shake of his head, but amidst the minute of tension-breaking mirth and levity, Leah placed a callused hand to his knee.
“And how do you feel about your plan? All this waiting around? I have to say, it’s not very you.”
“I mean… it hurts. A lot.” Achilles shrugged and took a sip from his tea, rolling the lukewarm water around his mouth. “I’m in love with him. I really am, I think.” It didn’t feel strange to say it aloud, though this was the first time he had—he was neither ashamed nor embarrassed. And that’s how he knew what he said was true.
Leah smiled. Gave his knee an encouraging pat.
“I’ve learned… so much from him this past year. Not that I’ve put much of it into practice,” Achilles laughed, “Hell, he probably doesn’t even know. But what he’s shown me, literally just by existing, it’s… changed how I think. How I see things. How I see myself.
“He’s just got such a sense of life, you now? And he’s kind and caringand optimistic and genuine in a way that I will never be, but even so, I like the way he makes me feel about myself and he makes me… want to be better. He makes me feel like I can be better. And I know that even if I failed at everything, even if I was no one,he would still be happy to just… be there. With me. Not even as a partner, but just… as a friend.”
Achilles chucked the stick of his lollipop into his now-empty mug and kicked his legs out in a V in front of him.
“Also… I mean, let’s be real, come on guys—Leah, I know you disagree—but he’s really fucking hot.”
It wasn’t particularly funny, but the three of them erupted in shared, goodnatured laughter, and he found himself warmed with his appreciation for this duo of friends. Their own support and love for him.
He concluded his laughter with a long sigh, swirling his lollipop stick as he stared at the ground. “But if nothing ends up happening, well… it’ll pass. It always does. I’ll learn to get over it in time.”
You’ll be getting over it your whole life.
The thought, for some strange reason, made him smile. Yes, perhaps he’d never get over it. But that’s just how it was sometimes. And he would be fine.
“I would like to propose one modification to your noble plan, my dear friend. If you are willing to hear it.” Elliott’s voice was tentative.
“Sure.”
“Have you considered meeting him halfway? I do not propose a full confession, but perhaps… a lingering touch of the hand. A gaze held a beat too long. Oh! Perhaps you could invite him on a charming Winter walk, offer him your scarf —”
“Ho ho, sorry Ell, did you say you were a romance author?”
“Do you disagree? I suggest this only because—”
“—You’re shit at flirting.” Leah accompanied her second interruption with a sudden, hearty slap of Achilles’ knee. “I’d have never known you were in love with him if you hadn’t told us.”
“Woman, I can flirt when I want to, I have simply been actively choosing not to—”
Elliott sighed as the two bickered. He was generous enough to give them a minute or so, massaging his temples all the while before raising his mellow voice the barest degree.
“Assuming young Alex does indeed share your feelings, then this is likely a new experience for him, Achilles. And as you’ve suggested, one fraught with a multitude of potential complications, trials, and tribulations. A most confusing medley, don’t you think?
“Alex, as we know, is most generous with his amity, and seems to find much assurance in physical touch, even among his friends. I do not say that you are standoffish—the contrary, my dear friend—but I do not believe it would be detrimental to be more explicit with your affection—either as a potential partner or simply as a friend. But if he is indeed considering romance, I believe it could be beneficial to allow yourself this opportunity to better affirm his hopes, so that if he does so choose to make his move, he will know for sure that he will find love and support, if not from his grandfather, then in you.”

Hi! Here’s these for the fic writer asks! ⛔️🥺🤲✨
Mars! Thank you! ❤️
⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?
Oh ho! I was planning on Video Evidence having three chapters, but decided not to finish that. I didn’t get really far on the second chapter but here is what I had:
It had been a long day — an exhausting day to say the least. Even though their team did great, Achilles was still exhausted.
At this very moment, Achilles laid on his hotel bed in the shared room he had with Hektor Priam, the other coach for the track team.
Hektor was currently out doing final room checks, making sure all the students were accounted for. While Hektor was out, Achilles was sitting in bed texting Patroclus about his day.
Achilles had to admit Hektor hadn’t annoyed him as much as he could have. Well…Patroclus had told him not to let the little side comments bug him.
🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?
Anytime I write character being all lovey-dovey and romantics with one another. When they confess how they feel about each other and how much they love each other…it always hits me straight in the feels.
🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?
How about some of my new demon bartender AU? This is from the first fic where Pat and Achilles first meet.
Patroclus sighed as he listened to the man across the bar in front of him rattle off the drink he wanted. Jameson on the rocks. The man could have just said that and Pat would have had the drink already but this man had to tell him over and over that he didn’t want that cheap well whiskey. Once the drink was made, he placed the drink down in front of the gentleman on a small napkin.
“Seven bucks,” Patroclus said flatly before taking the money and shoving it into the cash register after separating his tip from the cost of the drink.
Looking over to the clock, Patroclus noted that it was almost time for the dancers to start. He knew that there was one new dancer. Had no clue what he looked like, but he knew that he went by the stage name Aristos…or that’s what the schedule said at least.
Plus, being new, this Aristos dancer’s slot would be right before closing.
So that meant at the end of the night it would be just the two of them and the last thing Patroclus wanted was to be bothered while he closed the bar.
✨ Give you and your writing a compliment. Go on now. You know you deserve it. 😉
….uhhhhh….you…I mean I shouldn’t question my own writing because it’s good and people seem to like what I write.
Ahh! I’m not good at complimenting my writing.

So Thetis has this soccer/ballet mom persona. Does Achilles inherit this with Phi?
Yes, in a way. Philia shows a natural aptitude for movement and dance, and Achilles is absolutely ready to put her in ballet or any other type of dance when she's little. He is definitely 'ill be there to pick you up and drop you off' Supportive Dad, and both parents will be at every possible recital. The thing is, bc of reasons that i will specify later in Bump and Run, both he and Patroclus are not as gung-ho as Thetis (and tbr, Peleus).

andi!! my fellow and favourite myth reteller of the greek persuasion. talk to me about descecrate, about call me icarus. whatever you like! 💥🤒🎧🌑🕳💡
krys!!! my fellow and favorite myth reteller of the greek persuasion! how is Namesake going??
💥 - What is the main conflict of the wip?
I already answered this one for Call Me Icarus, so imma do Desecrate this time!!
The main conflict of Desecrate is two-fold: internally Kit has to confront the fact that he is rescuing a divine being, that he is rescuing his God, while externally he has to defy the Catholic Church in order to free the captive God.
🤒 - Is there whump in the wip? What kind?
oh ho ho this one is mighty fun for CMI.
Yes of course there is whump in CMI. Whump is like the cornerstone of Call Me Icarus, it is my bread and butter at this point honestly. The way I define whump is "taking a character and placing them in physically painful or psychologically-damaging situations" (because I know other people have diff definitions)
So, with that, basically all of CMI is whump. however, there are specific scenarios that I feel need mentioned:
The one and only sex scene between Icarus and Apollon where Icarus initiates the entire thing by legitimately shattering Apollon's mind and heart
The entire paranoia/anxiety hallucinations thing Icarus has going on (oh wait, i don't think i've talked about those yet...)
Achilles. just... Achilles. (i'm so sorry to anyone who's become attached to Patroclus)
Icarus deals with a lot of pain always. He's my literal punching bag and resident multi-year burn victim
🎧 - What are the first three songs on the playlist?
yeah okay i just went to look this up and Spotify updated??? what the fuck is that new sidebar, gimme the old one back. like, why the fuck is my folder organization gone??? why are playlists out of order??? who thought this was a good idea?? they were wrong
anyways, i think Desecrate will be the more interesting playlist to look at:
He Is by Ghost
Maybe IDK by Jon Bellion
The Night Does Not Belong To God by Sleep Token
🌑 - Is there reoccurring symbolism? Motifs?
oooooo there is recurring symbolism and motifs in both CMI and Desecrate, though they are more fleshed out in CMI.
First off, feathers. Feathers are a big thing in CMI (i should add more honestly...). There's also fire, that's a big reoccurring motif. uuuhhhh Icarus is autistic so I've written him to pick up on reoccurring symbolism but I can't really go too into depth on that yet because i haven't written it it's not going to start popping up until the end of the book
🕳 - What’s a plot hole you just can’t seem to fix?
i just.. cannot write a smooth progression from Icarus hating Apollon to Icarus loving Apollon again. It eludes me
Also, I've mentioned like multiple times that Icarus is the one who wants to tear down ATLAS but you know what the bitch never once mentions in story until it's forced upon him??? tearing down ATLAS. How did we go from Icarus just trying to cobble together a family to him being all "grrrr trauma burn them to the ground"??? I need to fix that and i just don't know how to yet
💡 - What inspired the wip? When/how did you first get the idea?
I also talked about this one for CMI already, so let's talk Desecrate!!
This idea is much more recent and was inspired by a class I took last semester (Ancient Christianities with Dr. Larson, if anyone remembers me complaining about that class lol)
Basically, towards the end of the semester we covered gnosticism and marcionism and how they were pretty immediately labeled heretical and buried and the only reason we really know that much about them is because of the Nag Hammadi.
So then my brain started creaking and turning and I thought: what if the Catholic Church was preceded by Marcionites instead of the proto-orthodox Christians?
Then, that snowballed into more (regrettably) predictable position of: What if the MC wanted to fuck God?
And thus Desecrate was born
#thanks for asking!#andi answers#I honestly pitched the idea of Desecrate to Locke originally as just 'MC fucks God??? Y or N'#desecrate wip#call me icarus

One of the reasons why I love buddie is because of how Eddie looks whenever Buck is talking about something random (you know the look).
Because of all the trivia-knowing characters around, Buck is always listened to, always cared for by Eddie.
If I think about other characters like him - Sheldon Cooper, Spencer Reid, Temperance Brennan, just to cite a few - they’re mocked all the time for knowing stuff, even by their significant others.
But then you have Buck, talking about natural disasters, about the animals at the LA zoo, with Eddie right there looking at him fondly. And also picking up some trivia to talk about on his own.
This is love.

The most emotional part about the Harry Potter reunion was Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton talking about Helen McCrory and. Tom saying how he looked up to her was really touching.
And also Jason saying that Draco is his hero.
I just… I just love them.
The happiest part was the one about Gary and Dan. Gary would have played Sirius for 15 years, I’m sure of it.
