Momo has an incredible Ace Attorney AU featuring Maya Fey. She is an incredibly talented artist and did these really cool character designs for her series. I am honored to be able to do my own take on her designs.

My reverse ace attorney au (where Gregory Edgeworth survives DL6 and adopts Franziska) is so funny to me because Gregory brings her home and Miles is just glaring like "she is von Karma's daughter. Her dad tried to shoot you, she must be evil too maybe she was sent here to spy on us" then Franziska just. Trips over the carpet and starts bawling. She is a whole two-year-old and Miles is convinced she's the incarnation of evil

Continuation of this post with some new ideas. I'd really want to see OG Phoenix, Maya and Edgeworth to meet this reversed people they long new. Because it would be so hilarious to have MVK be our assistant.

Like imagine Phoenix trying to defend Franziska in Reversed DL-6 and hitting the dead end. Phoenix reaches for the court record, but it isn't where it was last. He turns to Maya, who was unusually quiet for quite some time. But it isn't Maya anymore, it's MVK's ghost, that she channeled. And he took the court record to examine the case for himself. He explains to Phoenix that he suddenly awoken in these strange clothes, in the middle of the court case with a crumbled paper in his hands. There was simply "I'm Maya Fey, channeling you to help Phoenix to win the trial. Your daughter is the defendant, crazy, right? Anyway, we're stuck, please help." So he helped himself to the court record to at least understand what's happening.

Now in this AU MVK is a good person, but still a jerk at times. Like, if Phoenix gets something wrong Manfred would be at his limit.

Phoenix: "And the real culprit is.... Franziska von Karma! "

Judge: *shocked*

MVK: Sorry, I guess the defence is an absolute buffoon who humiliates both himself and this court. Allow him to think again, though.

Phoenix: The victim in DL-6 incident was killed... With the glass shard!

Phoenix: (why do I feel that my temple burning..?)

Phoenix: This is the proof that Ms von Karma wasn't there during the crime!

Phoenix: (if the looks could kill, we'll have a trial with me as the victim.......)

But the other times he helps very much. Despite staying stoic ans unfazed, MVK tries his best to protect his daughter and find the truth. And when prosecution (OG Edgeworth) or witness (Gregory) tries to push defence around, he usually helps with his mere presence. When Judge tries to end the trial MVK does smt similar to his OG counterpart and literally stops him mis sentence.

BLACKMADHI ANASTASIA AU

I talked about this idea on Twitter but I can’t find it so I’ll try to write out the basics from memory:

It’s not exactly like the movie but the basics are: Nahyuta gets separated from their family in a disaster Ga’ran cursed upon her sister’s family. It kills Dhurke & maybe it killed Jove too, but Datz, Amara, Apollo & Rayfa escape. (Dang that curse really didnt work huh-)

Simon is obviously in Dimitri’s role but I’m not sure if he worked at the palace or not

Klavier is in Vlad’s role

Apollo is in the role of the cousin who I can’t remember the name of atm (nvm I’m watching the movie as I make this and now I know it’s Sophie) and obviously he is in no way like her so idk how all those scenes would really play out

Actually none of them really act like their Anastasia counterparts but it’s just the concept I’m mostly basing this off of (Klavier’s maybe the most like his own lol)

Phoenix Wright had been a child of ten, the last time Gregory had seen him. A nice kid, he’d always thought. The first friend Miles had made in...a long time, but definitely the first since the move. They’d been thick as thieves, those two, and Gregory had been glad to see Miles finally breaking out of his shell a little with kids his own age. The kid he remembered had been the talkative type - a real little chatterbox - with a heart so big it could hardly be contained. A kid who always cried at the sad parts in Disney movies, and spent a whole day trying to find a lost dog’s owner because he couldn’t stand the thought of the poor thing being all alone. 

Gregory couldn’t see any trace of that boy in the man standing across the courtroom from him now. If the prosecutor hadn’t introduced himself as Phoenix Wright when this trial started, Gregory might not even have recognised him.

the von Karmas? actually live in the middle of nowhere America, they still own a mansion in Geermany tho. It is an important tradition to practice a german accent,, goes back generations,,, until u can perfect it ur not allowed to take the bar

the Fey Clan? okay yeah many are born in america, but they never actually moved there from Japan, instead they hail from some European country, its just they get more business by following Japanese traditions

Apollo? okayt he is actualy born and raised in Khura'in BUT he fakes being from some other asian country. so sort of a reverse of everone else

Miles Edgeworth Specifically? before living with von Karmas, before that year @ school w/ phoenix and larry, he was Australian. so antisocial he gained an American-ish accvent from movies, once his mum died he & his gfather movesd to America. its why phoenxi never talked to him before.

Larry? whatever country is funniest

Phoenix Wright??? he was actually born in a cave in the middle of the sea, under specific cercumstances that lead to him being unkillable (we all know hes immortal). he isn't faking his orign so much, as he is unaware of this.

Clay Terran? why do u think he wants to go to space so much hes clearnly an alien. thats why he picked 'terran', cuz its got earth in the name. he doesnt die so much as leave his humanlike body behind like a shell and just fucks off for a bit before re-genning another bod

The thing is: there's actually absolutely nothing wrong with modern/university/highschool or whatever AUs that take characters originally from japan or china or korea or any other country and plop them in america. There's a huge and varied disapora population in the us, and if the (usually usa) author wants to write about characters in a setting familiar to them that's perfectly normal and fine.

But what gets really jarring is when a fic clearly takes place in the united states but it doesn't know it takes place in the united states. Characters are just going to us-style schools and colleges and eating fluffy pancakes with maple syrup but they're also still using honorifics like -ge or -hyung or -kun and names are said last name – first name so you think ok they live in the usa but speak their native tongue around each other. That makes sense. Except it's never actually mentioned or talked about and no one ever switches to english in public, no one is relieved to have friends from the same ethnicity, no one has family that still lives overseas, no one talks about not being able to get certain ingredients at the grocery store to cook their favorite childhood dishes, and no one in general seems to be even be aware that they're diaspora. As if the fic isn't even meant to be in the us.

It's like the reverse of ace attorney's japanifornia, instead of a los angeles with an incredible amount of japanese cultural influence they live in a japan where everything just happens to be usamerican.

I plan on answering this very soon :)) Whether, with a comic or written, we'll have to see... But I do have to say that the current timeline of my AU at the moment is when Phoenix is in college.

EDITED on April 25, 2024: I changed my mind and yes, the class trial still happens but not in the way that anybody expects.

No, it doesn't happen since Miles was never Phoenix's classmate in this AU. The only way for Phoenix to become a lawyer in this AU is through Miles' and Kristoph's influence and urging OR an outside event.

I honestly think Klavier is too nice to be a demon lol. Also not gonna spoil those two for now ;)) However please keep in mind that I'm a very new Ace Attorney fan so my knowledge of the characters is lacking at best, and mischaracterized at worst. All I know about the other characters is through reading fanfics and as of typing this, I'm only at the second game.

Yes! They can! However, it's a difficult skill that they need to learn which depends on their own energy as well as Phoenix's mindset. I'd like to imagine if they run out of energy, they poof back into their chibi form, completely knocked out. At the current moment, both Miles and Kristoph have been unable to learn this skill, much to their frustration.

5. Does every person have an angel and a demon on their shoulder?

No, it's not something that happens to every person. Only a person who is deemed influential enough in the grand scheme of things by Heaven and Hell gets one. While it's not common, people are aware of them.

6. Are Trucy and Klavier Apollo's angel and demon?

Probably not? I think Klavier is too nice to be a demon but I may change my mind in the future once I get to know more about the characters. As much as I want Trucy to be his shoulder angel, I'm still unsure about that prospect... Maybe Athena? But that's still unsure...

hear me out, I have an idea about Reverse AA-AU where everything is somewhat similar, but characters are switched. It's kind of reversed DL-6. Gregory and Von Karma switch places, and Franziska takes Miles' place. Yet there's where I propose a somewhat interesting concept, mb?

What if instead of Miles and Franziska having their dynamic reversed, it was Eddie/Ray who wants to know which one of them "deserves the Edgeworth' name" More.

In this AU Miles becomes an attorney, and was tutored by his father. But before Miles, Gregory was a Eddie's/ Ray's teacher. Gregory was famous for his perfect defense and thorough belief in his clients. And now Eddie strives to be like this, and, much like his mentor, hasn't lost any cases this far.

This au might include Gregory forging evidence and this was found out during the case he and MVK were investigating. Though Manfred couldn't prove it fully in court, it has shaken Gregory's reputation and he was penalized (basically he couldn't do his job for a few weeks). This drove Greg to insanity which is why he shot MVK.

Basically, imagine how funny it would be if Edgeworth couldn't escape this petty competition in any universe.
