Sushi dinner from Sushi GoGo (争鲜gogo) located at Woodlands MRT Station. Took a fancy to this Truffle & Spicy Mixed Bento (S$6) which came with four salmon gunkan maki, two scallop and prawn sushi in two flavours topped with wakame. Aburi Salmon Bento (S$6.50) is my favourite but this set looks dehydrated.

Bob Marley’s wife, Rita Marley, has spent more than 20 years residing in Ghana. In the 1990s, she relocated to Ghana with Bob Marley’s family. In 2013, she petitioned for and was granted citizenship in Ghana. Rita Marley now has a Ghanaian name — Nana Afua Abodea.

In Ghana’s Aburi, she also has a home. In Accra, Ghana, Rita Marley created a studio in memory of her deceased husband, Bob Marley. The name of it is Studio One. In Ghana, she runs a non-profit organization. Her foundation, The Rita Marley Foundation, supports charitable endeavors.

Nana Rita Marley started her musical career in the early 1960s as a vocalist with the all-female group The Soulettes, which performed with the Four Tops, Johnny Nash, and other performers of the time. Her single ‘One Draw’, which she released in 1982, was a major hit in Europe but Jamaica said it was not fit for airplay. One Draw was the first reggae single to top the Billboard Disco chart, according to the Jamaica Observer.

Aburi Girls' headmistress, Madam Cynthia Anim passes away in Rome during educational workshop

My favourite budget Sushi Express (争鲜) revamped their takeaway outlets calling it Sushi GoGo (争鲜gogo). I love their Aburi Salmon Bento (S$6.50) which comes with 8 pieces of torched salmon sushi brushed with savoury brown sauce and topped with sesame seeds. The salmon is melt in the mouth delicious over the sushi rice.

You get an assortment of their hot sellers in this 10 Pcs Popular Sushi Bento (S$6). Let’s see what is included in here – seared salmon belly, raw scallop, two types of octopus, cooked scallop, salmon, prawn, crabstick, tamagoyaki and unagi (freshwater eel).

Kazariya, Food Shop(Kyoto, Japan) 本家 根元 かざりや★★

I ate aburi mochi at Kazariya (^o^)

Aburi mochi is a kind of rice cake, skewered on a bamboo stick, roasted over charcoal fire, and then basted with white bean pastes (^o^)

I almost gave up to eat both Kazariya’s aburi mochi and Ichiwa’s aburi mochi, when I saw long queues at both Kazariya and Ichiwa, but I wanted to taste and compare both, so I lined up on both and ate both (^o^)

Kazariya’s aburi mochi is sweet and a little salty, and Ichiwa’s aburi mochi is simply sweet (^o^)

かざりやのあぶり餅をいただきました(^o^)

かざりやと一和の両方に出来ていたなが〜い行列。一瞬諦めかけましたが、両方食べ比べてみたく、両方に並び両方いただきました(^o^)

かざりやは少し甘じょっぱく、一和はシンプルに甘い感じ(^o^)
