Chess is one of my all-time favourite games and the reason I started playing modern board games. When I was a young man I played to a decent standard and once beat a Russian Grand Master in a friendly online game. I used to study the game for hours every day. Then family and work took over and by the time my kids had grown up I simply didn’t have the heart to start studying again. I still play occasionally but I discovered modern games and just love playing for fun rather than seriously.
