hi coward (affectionate ) if you were invited to a Halloween party but you COULD NOT dress up as like. a character or corporeal thing or established costume thing/archetype (ghost witch clown pumpkin etc.) and you HAD to dress up as an abstract concept, what concept would you pick and how would you go about dressing up as it. your mental wellbeing depends on how well you answer this question (affectionate)

Personally I would dress up as the abstract concept of capitalist exploitation. Karl Marx likened the way the bourgeoisie exploit the proletariat to a vampire feeding on its prey. This can be seen in the character of many vampires, Lord Ruthven, Count Dracula, Louis de Pointe de Lac.

Additionally in the original text of Stoker's Dracula, Dracula is a representation of xenophobia and a perceived East vs West conflict. Capitalism often relies on instilling these beliefs on the proletariat. If you're too busy fearing immigrants and the country that you see as opposite to you, then you won't realize that these people are not your enemy and you'll vote not in your interest but in that of the bourgeoisie.

For this reason I would dress up as a vampire lord hailing from a distant, vaguely orientalist land. I would tie my turban fancy, dress in fancy Indian clothes from the 19th century, carry a sword at my side, stay inside for a month so my skin is peak gray, and also have my clothes be generally dark purples and reds for the vampire aesthetic.

I think I can say that I'm scared to live. I'm fearful of what I have gone through and what I may go through in the future. I am making a decision so aggressively out of my comfort zone. My whole body feels laced and lathered with fear. I am angry because I want to succeed. I want security, and I want to feel protected and at peace with my life. I feel scared because, along with this decision, I face limitations, bias, and prejudice, and I may have to constantly prove myself to those around me. I will have to reconstruct myself in such a way that I become unrecognizable to how I am now. In a way, that's a good thing. The person I want to become will be at my reach instead of something I dream about. I'm scared because the journey is isolating. I will have to advocate for myself more than I'm comfortable with, and as I take this step, I feel more empathy with my own relatives. I always understood their struggles and their resilience to overcoming their hardships, but now that I have to start. Take that leap towards something this unfamiliar, something so foreign with the possibility that every turn could be a blessing or threat; my heart , my soul, and my being are filled with admiration and anguish. What I face is nothing compared to them but my family, the kindest, strongest , smartest and most hard working people I know, must've dealt with so much against them, alone in a place meant to have them fail at every turn. A big part of me wants to scream,cry, and run for the hills out of fear. As I write this, I choke back the tears, blinding my vision, dropping on the keys , and making typing, slippery, and difficult. I'm so afraid, my body shivers. I feel as my skin prickles, goosebumps ever present, and my nerves spiking at the thought of having to take this step. I try to imagine the result, but it's so vague and so far from here that I can't conjure any vision of how the future will look like . And I tell you in my current situation, I face a nag next to my ear , a threat in the form of authority. I want to burn this bridge to the extent that even the thought of me plagues fear in their hearts. I want them to regret ever making me feel this way, and really, I hope that whatever they think or feel about me is overpowered by my success. I haven't taken that first step yet, but that date is coming soon, and as each second tics, I feel fear, but most of all, I feel excitement. After all, I'm pursuing the one thing they want me to believe is impossible to reach. The thought of having the possibility of proving these people wrong and, most importantly, proving to myself that I can surpass feels bad, to be honest it feels awful because it's a mixture of emotions I'm feeling at the moment. I feel neutral and kind of tired as crying takes a lot out of me. I hope and desire my future self to read this entry and may laugh at how silly my current fears are. That I get that feeling of reassurance that maybe this all will be worth it.

Here are the concepts for the siblings shadow forms! These are still not the finals as I want to refine them and try to make The Narrator at least a little more original.

The differences in stylings are somewhat reflective of their stories. I also wanted to include microphones in their designs, but I couldn’t really figure out what to do with The Director.

These sketches are about 2 years old except the first sketch which is about a year old.
