Canon straight ships in Star Wars always crack me up like
You have Mutually Obsessed and Making That Everyone Elseā€™s Problem (anidala)
Or maybe you want Roguish Princess and Rogue Turned On By That (hanleia)
Maybe even a little ā€œIā€™m Trying to Kill You, Stop Daydreaming About Being My Best Friendā€ (lukemara)
And over there in the corner is Only Considered Normal In Comparison to the Given Competition (obitine)
And outside, not even apart of the conversation: Actually Normal Human Beings Who Just Love Each Other With Little to No Murder Being Involved (Bail&Breha, Owen&Beru)

The Organas and the Lars family are all well aware that the children theyā€™re raising each have a sibling somewhere in the far reaches of the galaxy. They can never say anything, since Luke and Leia would be in grave danger if the truth of their heritage were to get out, but sometimes the twinsā€™ adoptive families canā€™t help but think about the other child that they will never know.
Breha notices her daughterā€™s title causes her to struggle with finding companions her own age and wonders if that loneliness might have been lessened had the twins never been separated. Sometimes, she imagines taking Leiaā€™s brother by the hand and introducing him to the people of Alderaan as a beloved member of the Organa family just like his sister.
Beru starts stitching a family tree -a tradition among slaves and former slaves on Tatooine, meant to bring together families that were separated by slavery- but struggles to finish it when she realizes itā€™s too dangerous to include her niece. After the war, Luke and Leia create their own, and Leia displays her connection to the Lars family line like a badge of honour.
Bail is always concerned about Lukeā€™s wellbeing somewhere in the back of his mind. The Lars family are supposed to be good, hardworking people, but even under Obi-Wanā€™s protection, Tatooine is a hostile place to live: especially compared to a temperate core world planet like Alderaan. Since he is unable to directly intervene so far out in Hutt Space, his contacts within the rebellion are occasionally tasked with checking in on the state of things in and around Tatooineā€™s settlements. On the occasions where Owen and Beru found themselves struggling to put food on the table, an off-world traveller would soon arrive offering to pay handsomely for something like mechanical help or a ride to Anchorhead.
Owen tries not to dwell on what-if scenarios and focus on keeping his nephew safe, but raising a force sensitive child -much less a force sensitive child of Anakin Skywalker and PadmƩ Amidala- is stressful on the best of days. When people in town murmur under their breath about how odd the Lars boy is, he worries. Both that the empire will take the whispering about Luke being odd seriously, and that the little girl Obi-Wan told them about when he arrived with baby Luke hidden under his cloak might be put in danger by those same whispers.

Itā€™s always so heartbreaking to me that every time we see Owen display how he really feels about Luke in canon (the books, and Kenobi) Luke is never there to hear it.
When Owen faces down the inquisitor and declares that Luke IS his son, Luke is already way out of earshot (even though I do sort of consider the Kenobi show non-canon). When Owen talks to Beru after the argument with Luke on the day they die, telling her he feels bad about having to squash Lukeā€™s dreams and wanting to find some way to make it up to him, he never hears it.
Owenā€™s relationship with Luke WAS complex, and it was rocky sometimes. Iā€™ve always read this as Owen having difficulty being emotionally open, at least as far as the ANH novel and Kenobi show have shown. Owen loves Luke DEEPLY, right to his core. But he doesnā€™t know how to put that into words. Heā€™s an awkward man! Heā€™s been raised on nightmare hell planet where becoming too attached to someone might end up in them being killed or sold into slavery and you being miserable! Look at what happened to both of his mothers!
When someone you love dies, you look at all their actions with a new light and deeper introspection. Can you imagine the absolute world-shattering thoughts Luke must have had after Owen and Beru died?
Realising he was more deeply loved than he could have ever realised, even if Owen had a harder time showing it.
And Owenā€™s parental anxiety is shown in Kenobi! Owen Lars, one of the most dedicated fathers in the galaxy, probably died wondering if his son would ever know how much he really loved him.
Owen probably died with so, so many regrets. Owen probably died wondering if he deserved to raise Luke (which he DID) and if he had done enough to prepare his son for the world (HE DID).
Owen Lars has always been a heartbreaking character for me.

Is that man old enough to be my father? Yes. Does that change the fact that I want him to fuck me into oblivion? No.

Woke up to Owen Lars thoughts. Specifically re: C-3PO.
Our guy Owen has avoided owning a droid for 20+ years because they remind him of Shmi. Heā€™s had to deal with the Jawas the whole time and knows it would go a hell of a lot better with a translator, but every time he thinks about getting a protocol droid he thinks about Shmi. About how she doted on that insufferably annoying droid because it was her last connection to her son. And he decides he can go another year relying on gestures and paying more than the parts heā€™s getting are worth.
But now he only has Lukeā€™s help for one more harvest and heā€™s not getting any younger - his joints ache more and more with each sandstorm - and he decides itā€™s time to face his ghosts. He canā€™t avoid reminders of the past forever. He sends Luke for some droids.
And the boy comes back with C3P0
The droid doesnā€™t look the same - heā€™s been treated to some upgrades over the years and some fancy gold plating they couldnā€™t have afforded to give him - but he gives his designation and itā€™s not just a similar robotic voice dragging up memories that both haunt Owen and remind him of better times. But itā€™s him, without a doubt. C-3PO human cyborg relations. Shmiā€™s most prized possession. Returned back to her home and final resting place, back to the last piece of her son.
To Luke.
And when the stormtroopers break down the door and pour in, he has a moment of pure relief that Luke isnā€™t home. That this time it wonā€™t be a Skywalkerā€™s body found broken in the desert.
He should have known. An R2 unit had rolled up and interrupted Shmiā€™s humble funeral and Anakin had swept away to whatever dangers waited for him in the stars. Heā€™d brought the two droids with him and the Lars were left to mourn and heal and carry on under the harsh suns. They looked after themselves and weathered the heat and the sand like everything else that was born, and fated to die, in the desert.
But not Luke. Luke wasnā€™t born on Tatooine, even though the boy has the desert in his blood. Owen sees the same relief written in Beruā€™s eyes as he takes her hand. Luke isnā€™t going to die here.
He has the stars in his blood too.
Owen just hopes the boy will meet a better end than his father. That his story wonā€™t end so soon.

can we normalize liking a bands most popular song??
A lot of people on here and various apps makes fun of people for liking a band's most popular song, like who cares?? I can like enter sandman or freak on a leash or even bohemian rhapsody without having some stupid person online saying "oh their overrated" "oh you're taste is trash" Its so dumb just let people like whatever the hell they want without criticizing them?? Just because its the bands most popular song doesn't mean that its bad or anything like that. People are not going to gravitate to the 100 stream deep cut you grasp.
