to be honest my process can be different: i can start with a couple of spots, or can start with a sketch, also sometimes it’s something between sketch and spots

in one of the previous talk-posts i already said that mostly i draw on ONE layer, even if i have clean sketch i cover it by colours on the same layer

i start coloring with basic colours: i outline the main colour spots that make up the picture, for example, the main shadow, light, skin colours, colour of clothes, how lighting and reflexes affect them — i try to hyperbolize colours, make them darker, lighter or saturated where i see, for example, "aha, here a shadow with a greenish tinge, and a red reflex on hair, i’ll plop a bright spot here"

after the main colours and shape are outlined, i begin to "sculpt" the drawing — detail, add more shapes, semitones, highlights if necessary, and so on to get a more complete picture

i spied a chip from a number of asian artists: first of all, you need to detail the face so that the work already looks finished, and you can stop give a damn about the rest, you can upload it and say "that's the way it's meant to be!" like, the face is almost always the compositional center anyway, and even more so in my works, people look on faces, i mean!

also the most important thing about my drawings is that i focus on SHAPE, not lines!

Hi all!

Sorry for posting so rarely, I mostly post here only what I find more interesting.

This art can be considered a small experiment, I tested here a new program, texture brushes and work with color. At first the picture looked very empty, and then I decided to make small strokes with a texture brush, this helped the drawing to look more interesting, leaving it without monotonous and boring colors.

not that i could specifically advise anything, because i'm still a little dumb chap and teaching someone seems hard to me, well, and my pipeline with a style is not suitable for everyone, i guess my age-old advice is to get out of your comfort zone when you think you're at a dead end. it’s not hard to try to draw something with a new composition or a new character, maybe new color palette, adding background, or sth, i think no one (your followers too) will be against your experimenting!!

for coloring: to be short — i use colours that i see on photo, and i try to use their brightest variations to make my artwork colorful, also i pay attention on shadows and light (is it cold or warm)

advice for coloring: DO NOT BE AFRAID to put bright, dark, light, black, white, red on green coat, blue on beige skin, just random colours and else! be creative, my chaps
