A note about Loki and Thor

After years of reading fanfiction where Loki is portrayed as a psychopath and a cunning scoundrel (for some reason this is the majority of fanfiction in my bubble?), I accidentally decided that this trope was canon. But damn, how wrong I was. Hiddleston's Loki is a very sensitive, vulnerable character who needs support and love.

Unfortunately, his mother's recognition and love are not enough. The boy needs recognition from the male part of the family. He always felt abandoned. I would like to read more fanfics where Loki is a sensitive character.

(His vulnerability is so desperately visible. The 2012 version of Loki is brutal, but we don't know what crap and heartache the character went through.)

Disney's Loki reveals even more of the character's sensitive side. We see his pain as he looks at his life story, we see his sincere friendship with Mobius (honestly, it's amazing)

And we see how he wants to keep Sylvie safe, which could also be a hint that he is finally ready to support himself ( literally damn he supports himself) and we see his sacrifice for the sake of all loved ones and strangers.

This is what Loki would have ended up with if he had not died in Thor 3. One way or another, this version of Loki would have become the god of stories (whatever that means).

And I would also like to see a more interesting Thor, who often thanks his brother, consults, and treats him with respect.

Thoughts on Thor. We know that Thor cares about Loki, but I got the feeling that for a very long time, before Thor 1, he treated Loki like a child who doesn’t understand anything (while Thor is a teenager) and this prevents Thor from accepting him as an equal and allowing him to show Thor's mistakes.

After the 1 chapter, Thor finally matures through grief over the loss of his brother.

I really don't see much of a role for Jane Foster in his changes. I think initially he treated her as one of his hobbies, respected her intelligence, but still... I think she was more fascinated than he was.

(After all, in The Avengers he 100% had the opportunity to drop by for tea, which he didn’t take.) I think the fact that he had a lot going on and the loss of his brother played a role in his attachment to Foster.

In The Avengers and Thor 2 we see that Thor does not know how to communicate with Loki, his brother grew up the same way as him, there is awkwardness around.

Later on Sakaar we see Thor let his brother go. I imagine that he doesn’t want to witness another fake death, doesn’t want to relive it again. He is calmer knowing that Loki is somewhere, he is alive and doing his insidious deeds.

In the third part there is a feeling that they are finding a connection and an understanding of how to communicate, although this is not the end yet. Loki returned to Thor precisely when Thor let him go, allowing his brother and himself to “be themselves,” took up the affairs of his people, and took responsibility.

At this point, their growing up against the backdrop of a showdown can be considered almost complete.

I think in the end they would manage to become a good team. But it would take them a long time to learn to fully accept each other’s shortcomings. And I think one day Thor would say that he got too excited by blaming Loki for his father's death.

my view on the relationship between loki and sylvie-

I believe their bond is a deeply misunderstood sibling one. I think Loki didnt really comprehend how he felt and labelled it as romantic. The thing about Loki and Thor, is whilst Loki loves his brother very much, theres always been that sort of pressure and competition that he’s felt, that he needed to prove he was good enough to his parents and others. He’s always felt on such a different level to thor in a lot of ways (usually feeling less superior) and it doesnt help as well that Loki is the notorious bad guy whilst thor is the good guy. I think meeting sylvie, someone who does understand him at least in a loki way, and someone he doesnt have to try harder with to be better, I think he immediately developed a kinship with her, one he never really had with thor. And I think that because thats the first time he’s felt like that, he thought it was romantic interest- especially since for marvel loki we’ve never seen him in a serious romantic relationship, its safe to assume that maybe hes never had one, and therefore also not too used to or understanding of how romantic interest feels either.

GOS Loki default either on his throne or homeless and seeking a home.

For info, my Loki is probably warmer to the touch than humans if he's in a temperate climate as I hc Asgard is a cooler temperature so his body compensated. what does your muse smell like?

Typically leather, metal, musk, notes of honey, lemon, books, or mint. Situation dependent he can smell of wine or mead, of incense, or even blood (after a fight, he doesn't just slather it on himself). He can also manipulate how people think he smells if he gets into their heads.

what do your muse's hands feel like?

Reasonably soft. His skin does not callus easily but it is still extremely durable as a god. Though he is a skilled fighter, he is otherwise not especially practical, as well as being royalty which lends less toward manual tasks. He is dextrous, so expect them to feel good. They can be featherlight to touch or very strong.

what does your muse usually eat in a day?

Generally he's used to eating fruit, meat, bread, and nuts. He has a love of seafood, too. Loki has a fairly sweet tooth and once he discovers chocolate and sweets watch out. He can go quite some time without eating but if he ever eats his fill, expect him to eat as much as Thor. There are myths about Loki's appetites for a reason. He doesn't have to eat that much, though.

does your muse have a good singing voice?

Yes, it's pretty good. Even when he's drunk. If you've not watched Loki Season 1, look up Loki Very Full.

does your muse have any bad habits or nervous tics?

I mean faking his death and stabbing his way out of problems is a pretty bad habit. He lies and conceals. Physically, he rubs or toys with his hands. He cries extremely easily without wanting to when he is emotional. He blinks slowly when he is being emotionally wounded.

what does your muse usually look like/wear?

In his usual male form, Loki usually likes to express himself with tight leather ensembles with his own personal insignia, horns, and a cape. Her female form will also show this off, although she will play with dresses and skirts and thigh high boots. He will almost always wear green and gold occasionally with black. His hair is black, preferring it medium to long, though shortish and curly is acceptable when blending in with Midgardians. His male form has blue eyes, his female or other shapeshifts green.

is your muse affectionate? how much? how so?

Loki will behave like he is not affectionate and seem to keep people at a distance. In truth, he loves touch and he can get so overwhelmed with care for particular people that he doesn't know how to express it with his usually so easy words. He ranges from gift-giving to (fairly selfish) sacrifice. He is dramatic and romantic to a fault. Annoying people is his love language whether platonic or romantic.

what position does your muse sleep in?

On his back or side when in a bed. Has been known to fall asleep on folded arms on a table.

could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room?

If he deliberately conceals from you, you wouldn't hear him if he stood right behind you. If he's upset, furniture might break.
