The sigh of relief Berry let out was obvious and loud. She let her shoulders drop and pressed her hands together, bowing over them and the container of false lashes in her hands. "You have no idea how grateful I am for you."

Now that this problem was solved, Berry felt a great deal of tension leaving her. She glanced at the door as she opened the container. Her partner still wasn't here, big surprise. She shook her head with a roll of her eyes. "Still not here, typical for a man." Berry glanced at the stranger before her. "That doesn't include you. I don't know if you are a man, and if you are, you're clearly a superior one." Her slender fingers waved through the air. "I'm definitely a woman but definitely not straight, so. I know better than to make assumptions based off of appearances."

She was probably rambling way too much, but by this point, it didn't matter to her. This person was about to invade her personal space and risk poking her in the eye, and to Berry, conversations about identity were not such a taboo thing; she was proud of every aspect of herself and found no reason to hide it. Berry held herself still. "I'll still pay you," she insisted. "Or return the favor somehow. I'm very good at applying acrylic nails. And I'm even better with eyeliner designs."

Of all the people that this stranger could have asked for help with this, Victor felt like they're the last possible option—a patch of beige in this otherwise colorful room. Whether it was a purely lucky guess or if she simply somehow read them perfectly, she was right. They knew exactly how to help. "You don't need to pay me," she said, shaking her head once with a bit of a playful grin. "It's just falsies. I'm not—running into a burning building for you or something."

He watched as she pulled out her tools, then glanced at her to see if he could answer his own question. "Do you want your lashes curled first? I can do everything else just fine, but I don't trust myself to not pinch you if I try. I don't even know how to use a lash curler on myself."

OCs Playing Mario Party Games

I was playing Mario Party 7 with my friend's friends, and it gave me an idea how each of my active OCs react.

Splatoon OCs

Ryen Rellen - When playing with his two close friends, he wants to sabotage Trent as much as possible. He's really good at playing solo mini-games and dueling mini-games.

Trent Saito - He's all for fun, but wants to sabotage Ryen as much as possible. He likes to play with his family and with his friends during the weekends. Two-player mini-games are his faves because he can either help or ruin his teammate.

Lydia Song - Somewhat competitive and it gets pretty heated whenever she and Muffin play together. Keeps landing on Happening Spaces a lot.

Samantha "Muffin" Saito - Really into playing Mario Party games. She's a sore loser and super vocal when she loses. Loves the dueling mini-games and goes all in (though she loses a lot lmao).

Tristan "Berry" Saito - Doesn’t care if he wins or lose as long as he has fun. Hopes to get paired up with his older twin sister for the two-player mini-games, but doesn’t happen most of the time.

Haruka Rellen - They didn’t have anyone to play games other than their mother and father, but they cherished it nonetheless.

Main OCs

Ryan Nakamura - Pretty competitive and can be a sore loser at times. Mostly gets the mini-game bonus stars. When he’s an adult, he’s pretty mellow.

Michael James Wright - He doesn’t play it seriously unlike Roxas and Amy, but he does get surprised whenever he wins mini-games.

A.I. 00M (Louis) - He’s an A.I. He can’t play the game unless Michael can play the game for him.

Roxas Nakamura - He’s all in for the fun of the game and shows good sportsmanship.

Michael James Nakamura - As long he can sabotage Amy, then he’s okay with it.

Evelyn Mia “Eevie” Nakamura - Like her big brother, she’s in for the fun.

Amy Bekette Rose - Doesn’t like it when MJ Nakamura sabotages her a lot, but at least it’s just a game. At least Michael Wright doesn’t give two shits about it.

Owen Jackson Rose - A bit of a sore loser when he plays, but at least it’s just a game. He’s often in last place, though.

Raini - They just watch my OCs play the game since they’re not interested in playing.

Yuri Fyodor - First time he ever played, it was a bit brutal for him. He hasn’t played any of the Mario Party games and just watches... unless Eevie invites him to play.

Jumin was so playful, Berry almost didn’t know what to do with it. She watched as he climbed into her car with the ease of someone that had been doing it forever. As annoying as it could be, it was a good thing, too. They needed to be comfortable with each other to make this entire adventure work. Rolling her eyes, Berry climbed into the car. 

“I don’t know,” she answered. With the key in the ignition, Berry pulled her seat belt on and then started the engine. “I am a lot older than you, isn’t that polite in your culture?” 

Berry pulled the car out of the lot. She was careful about merging into traffic; even after all this time, driving in Korea could really freak her out. Glancing at Jumin, Berry smiled. “I’m not Korean,” she explained. “I don’t know if you were ever told my last name, but it’s Saito. I’m Japanese.” 

Berry followed Jumin’s instructions and made her way to the studio his group was at. She was excited to meet them; the group itself was good, and she’d never really hung out with idols before, even the ones she’d worked with. 

Once they arrived, Berry parked and shut the engine off. She climbed out, took a moment to survey the building, then followed Jumin inside. This studio was new to her, which added to her excitement. New experiences were one of the reasons she had left home - to find adventure out in the world. “Lead the way,” Berry murmured, smiling at Jumin.

Jumin’s inner child was shining brightly as always, even though he could be more mature if he needed to be. He felt like he could simply be himself around the female and therefore he simply snickered as he saw her roll her eyes. The young male was well aware that he could be quite the handful if he wanted to be. But so far Berry didn’t seem to have much trouble dealing with him what made him like her more.

“It is polite to call an older female noona, yes. And because I don’t really have anyone else to call noona besides the older girls from other groups in our company I will gladly call you noona.” He said and a moment later a bashful smile graced his features. “You can call me dongsaeng if you want to. It’s what older females call younger people. Even though age is just a number after all.” Jumin added before listening to Berry talk.

“No, I wasn’t told your last name. My members and I know some people in the industry that are from Japan as well. They’re all really nice and talented people just like you.” The idol replied, the smile still playing on his lips, the words coming from the heart without thinking too much into it. After that the young male focused on giving Berry directions until they had arrived at the studio in which the rest of his group was.

Once the car had parked Jumin pretty much jumped out of the car and closed the door behind him after having grabbed his stuff. He looked over at the young woman and waited for her to take in the sight, nodding as she told him to lead the way. He returned her smile before leading her inside the building and towards the elevator. He stepped inside after the doors opened and then hit the button to the right floor.

“Just be prepared for a loud and lively welcome.” Jumin said as he looked over at Berry, another smile gracing his features. The idol always got happy whenever he got to introduce the other’s to someone knew. The rest of Dreamscapes felt like brothers to him after all. After a minute or so the elevator doors opened again and the young male made a hand movement towards his companion that told her to follow him.

Jumin walked down a hallway and then opened the door to the practice room they usually had booked and once he opened the door the other’s could already be heard. “We’re here!” The idol loudly exclaimed and seven pairs of eyes landed on them as he stepped aside so Berry could go inside as well. The other’s came quickly closer before bowing politely despite their excitement to meet someone new could be clearly felt.

“Those are Minki, Zen, Biho, Jihyun, Joshua, Hansol and Biho.” He introduced his members who all said hi after he had said their name. “Guys this is Berry.” Jumin added before turning to look at the young woman before the rest of Dreamscapes started to talk all at once which happened a lot.

Finally, in the home stretch! Last set of proper gym leaders to date, until Scarlet and Violet drop!

Milo's name in Japanese is Yarrow, which is still visibly the basis of his Galar written name on his card and his uniform. And Yarrow is a common herb with a long history of medicinal uses. The Common Yarrow's scientific name is Achillea millefolium, where they might have gotten "Milo" from for his English name.

Nessa's name is Rurina, nickname: "Ruri," from ruri-nigana[瑠��苦菜], meaning "Lapis Lazuli(colored) Ixeridium dentatum" it doesn't appear to have any common names in English. Not sure where they got "Nessa" for the English.

Kabu's name is kabu. Kabu[蕪] is "Turnip." It refers to the same Brassica rapa as Candice's(Suzuna) name, although hers uses an older outdated kanji. Also has a homonym thing with Kabuto[兜] the traditional samurai helmet which is also incorporated into the fire(火)type Iogo on his jersey

Bea's name is Saito referring to saito[菜豆]: "Kidney bean"/"Haricot." Her English name is also Bea(n).

Allister's name is just Onion, which I find really funny. Possibly alluding to him being a crybaby.

Opal's name is Poplar, like the tree.

Gordie's name goes back to using Japanese; Makuwa from makuwa-uri[真桑瓜] the "Oriental Melon." It ties into...

...Melony's Japanese name just being Melon(Meron[メロン]). I just kind of assume they had the Winter Melon in mind specifically, from her hair color and the ice type.

Piers' name, Nezu is from nezu[杜松]: "temple juniper." Like Clair, I assume this is meant to reference both the spiky leaves/needles as well the dark colored and sometimes toxic berries. Also homonym with nezu[鼠] meaning "rat" but can also refer to a certain dark gray or black color(I assume the color of rat fur) which sort of plays into the dark type too.

Raihan's name is Kibana from kibana-fuji[黄花藤] the Laburnum anagyroides, "Golden Chain/Golden Rain." Same family of plants that Drake's name is based on. Although Drake's association with it seemed a little weaker, Raihan has some unique added context; his league sponsor is MC Bank, which I assume is, along with the Golden Rain/Chain, a play on a Dragon's hoard of gold.

Bede's Japanese name was just Beet(biito[ビート]) as in the vegetable.

Marnie's name in Japanese was just Mary[マリィ], presumably from Rosemary, as it doesn't seem to relate to any plants on its own otherwise. As I recall, back before the game's release had been cause for a lot of speculation about her and Chairman Rose.

Figure I'll throw the expansion (ex)gym leaders to round things out, although half of them aren't that interesting or complicated.

Klara's name is just romanized from Kurara[クララ] and kurara[苦参] is the name of the Shrubby Sophora. Various species of the plant have uses in traditional Chinese medicine, although appropriately for Klara's type specialization, the plant's roots are poisonous.

Avory's just cropped from Savory(Seiborii[セイボリー]) the herb savory, of family Satureja.

Mustard is Mustard(Masutaado[マスタード]) sounds like Master(d) and obviously the mustard plant. (Oh and his wife's name is Mitsuba[ミツバ] from mitsuba[三つ葉] the japanese wild parsley, aka honeywart.)

Peony was also still just Peony(Pionii[ピオニー]) as a kind of joke on being the brother of Rose. His daughter Peonia's name was Shakuya[シャクヤ] from shakuyaku[芍薬], the chinese peony(Paeonia lactiflora).

some random Shokugeki breakfast headcanons

Breakfast Headcanons for the different families in my “Shokugeki no Kimiko”-Verse. For...some reason.

The Yukihiras (SoRina Family)

When Hiraku & Kimiko were still going to the local school, Soma and Erina always had a competition every night after the restaurant closed over who’d get “Bento-Rights” the next morning. Whoever won got to make the Bento obviously ahdh. 

Soma really loves to make them all kinds of Onigarazu, while Erina has developed her own kind of honey-pork dumplings, that Hiraku in specific loves a lot 

During the week, while the children get their bento for school, the adults usually each make an individual, quick breakfast for themselves at different times. Although with Soma and Erina of course they are proud enough of their creations to urge the other that they should have a taste as well. 

Once they’re old enough, Kimiko & Hiraku tend to take over breakfast on weekends as the family is more prone to breakfast together on these. 

EGGS, lots of EGG-DISHES. What household do you think this is?

The Nakiris (RyoAli Family)

Back when the Nakiri-Twins were smol, Alice & Ryo made a great effort to be around them as much as they can...so they usually also ate breakfast as a family. When the twins are older and can take better care of themselves it decreases a little but ultimately this family still does eat breakfast together at least once a week.

Usually it’s prepared by one of the cherry-picked chefs working in the Nakiri-Mansion, but being great chefs themselves one of the family-members tends to prepare breakfast as well at times.

Once Akio Hayama moves into the the Nakiri Mansion he sometimes prepares breakfast as well, but more on that later.

They tend to have a rather sumptuous breakfast, with a lot of options to pick from: Various types of cheese, croissants and other pastries, freshly-baked bread, fruit...etc. Some Instagram-worthy stuff.

Despite all these luxuries, Mona and Lola Nakiri never fail to voice that they prefer when their parents cook breakfast.

Rest (AkiSako, IsaMegu, ShuYoko and so on) under the cut

The Hayamas (AkiSako Family)

Akira and Hisako both don’t like other people preparing their breakfast. Whenever the Hayama-Family is staying at a hotel, these two are sulking at the hotel buffet. 

Akira & Hisako quite frankly love to prepare breakfast for their children and, while not always, they do tend to do it together. With these two teaming up it’s usually a very healthy, energizing breakfast. 

But despite the teamwork, these two also have some competition going on every morning as Hisako prepares tea, while Akira prepares coffee. The competition is about which drink their children will pick up (who like both). Real fancy tea blends & coffee-combinations are born in this competition. 

Kaori & Akio pick up a lot from their parents. It’s become common knowledge around the E10 that Akio makes the best tea, while Kaori could 100% work as a barista if she wasn’t a cook. And they both have a lot of breakfast-recipes stored in their head.

Once Akio moves into the Nakiri-mansion because of Hiraku, he actually does prepare breakfast from time to time. At first he usually eats on his own, because he feels awkward sitting at the same table as the headmistress but Alice’s pushy nature get him to sit with them in the end. 

The Japan Aldinis/Aldini-Tadokoros (IsaMegu Family)

Megumi and Isami prepare breakfast together almost every day. It’s a great way of bonding for them. It usually turns out to be a pretty rural-breakfast but it’s very comforting and their children love.

Yes, they bake their own bread. I believe in this firmly. 

Hiroshi Aldini-Tadokoro, when old enough, also tends to help out with breakfast or he goes out to pick some berries. Maja and Nino Aldini-Tadokoro often end up settling the table. This is more for weekends though. 

During the week, Megumi & Isami make bentos. Bentos for the kids and Megumi also makes one for Isami, while Isami makes one for her. He even came up with an “Italian-Styled Bento” just for this. 

The Tuscany Aldinis (TakuIku Family)

They don’t always manage to, but really try their best to eat together as a family. In Summer specifically. They always eat outside when the temperatures are warm enough. 

There’s three kinds of breakfast: When Ikumi prepares it, it’s usually the very healthy, nutritious kind that actual athletes would eat. Like idk, greek yogurt with fruit and chia-seeds, avocado-sandwiches...meep. 

When Takumi prepares it, it’s a sumptuous but also cozy European breakfast including lots of freshly picked tomatoes, egg, sausages etc. 

And then there’s the times when their daughter Mika prepares breakfast, even bringing it to her parent’s bed when she’s awake before them. Mika usually finds a middle ground between her mother’s breakfast style and her father’s breakfast style. 

The Ibusakis (ShuYoko Family) 

Ryoko makes very traditional bentos on weekdays. 

On weekends, she goes out even more and sets the table very lovingly. Shun also involves himself and smokes some bacon, eggs or so. 

Ryoko has found herself a hobby in jam-producing. In the nearby forest (the Ibusakis live close to one), she tends to pick berries (or Kasumi does that for her), or gets some fruit from the market in their small village and she makes jam out of them. She came up with some truly delicious combinations on her own. Yuki always takes at least 10 glasses with her, whenever the Maruis are over. 

Shun probably also bakes bread himself at times, idk I can just picture him doing that. 

The Maruis (MarYu Family)

Yuki makes Bentos for Takahiro (and back when Chieko wasn’t on Totsuki, also for her ofc) during the week. And she always includes some animal designs. Because she’s Yuki. 

They don’t always breakfast together on Saturday but they sure do on Sundays. This is a sacred tradition to Yuki. If it’s sunday and all of the family-members are home...They will have breakfast together. 

Zenji gets send out to get bread and usually he also buys some pastries or cakes for the children (and Yuki). 

Yuki meanwhile prepares the best (according to Takahiro) hot chocolate for Takahiro & Chieko (and herself). 

Zenji drinks coffee or tea meanwhile. 

Chieko really loves to have blueberries at breakfast. So sometimes Yuki incorporates them into pancakes. She likes making pancakes. 

The Hojos (Terunori Kuga x Miyoko Hojo Fam)

They tend to end up eating together. Suzume & Miyoko wake up the earliest usually and while Suzume goes for a morning-jog, Miyoko often begins preparing breakfast. Takayuki comes down to drink tea closely after and lastly Terunori wakes up, when everything is finished usually. 

Suzume loves having smoothies for breakfast, especially since she’s already being active early in the morning. 

Miyoko, like Ikumi, tends to go the healthy, energizing road for breakfast but she does also prepare buns which everyone loves. 

If Miyoko can’t prepare breakfast because she’s out or so, it’s either Terunori’s call or the kids go out themselves to eat out because they got too tired of waiting for their dad to wake up. 

The Eizans (EtsuNe Family)

This family struggles to find time to breakfast together and when they do it’s usually on vacation, or on weekends.

Nene is the one who pushes the most for a breakfast together and when she sees the opportunity, she’ll go full out in preparation. And when the family sits together, no one is allowed to even look at his phone and ruin Nene’s precious family-together time. 

Normally though, Nene & Masashi individually tend to prepare Miso-Soup or something for themselves, while Etsuya & Shigeo have gained a habit of eating out by getting something from a bakery, sit in some café or Etsuya lets his personal assistant get him (& whenever Shigeo has come to the company with him, him of course as well) something. 

Kei alters between either getting something from his mom or Masashi or getting himself something outside as well. 

The Saitos (SoMomo Family)

Momo often ends up making breakfast on weekends, although Kiyoko Saito later takes on the task as she’s awake earlier. Anyway this is some very sweet, Instagram-worthy stuff. 

Waffles, yogurts with fruits, macarons, croissants, fine jam.....That kind-off stuff. Though Momo never fails to prepare one miso-soup and a bowl of rice, as this is all Somei asks for. 

In the week, Somei is the one preparing bentos. His daughter Moe ended up helping him out at a rather young age, as she thought that the bentos could be a lot cuter. Moe ended up developing a passion for bentos through that and on Totsuki she always wakes up early and makes one for her big sister Kiyoko & also Shigeo. Moe’s bentos are legendary. 

Whenever Kiyoko is in any-sort off city, she really likes eating breakfast at various cafés. Sometimes she takes Masashi with her. 

The Tsukasas (for @blas-i-us *blows kiss*, but yes EiRin Family)

I think I’m gonna make it a running gag that this family rarely eats breakfast at a table, much to Eishi’s frustration. They often end up sitting on the couches in front of the fireplace or the children bring breakfast into their parent’s bed or so. When they do sit at a table, it’s usually outside during warm weather. 

They do always eat together though. And they prepare it together as well. The Tsukasa children started to participate at breakfast-preparation. In fact they often end up starting the preparation as they’re awake first.

Lots of cheese, because they live in Switzerland. 

Tsubame Tsukasa also tends to collect ingredients from the outside by running out into the morning rays and picking berries, mushrooms etc.

Science SARU's YUREI DECO TV Anime Hacks Up New Visual and Character Art

  Science SARU's next TV anime, the cyberspace meets real-world original series YUREI DECO, has had a little more information on it leak out, including a new teaser visual, more details on the characters, and even a short new trailer in the most cyber of all formats – vertical for TikTok!

      The first character we meet is Berry, a girl who wants to catch Phantom 0 and collect a lot of love, one of the formats of the virtual world of YUREI DECO.

  Then there's Hack, a mysterious child who is known as a great hacker that was mistaken for Phantom 0, though is also in pursuit.

  YUREI DECO is being directed by Tomohisa Shimoyama (The Night is Short, Walk on Girl animation director) at Science SARU with scripts by Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop) and music by Clammbon's (Polar Bear's Café 2nd opening theme) bassist Mito, Kotaro Saito and Yebisu303. The series is scheduled to begin in July.

What dessert would each character be?

Dom Vanilla Ice Cream — because he’s totally vanilla when it comes to everything. Boring and predictable.

The clock was ticking on the wall.

Its sound was not loud, not really – but it was distinct against the constant patter of rain beating down the roof and howling of the wind. At the sidelines, the ladies were talking with soft voices, too muffled for Kenshin to make out what they were saying. However, if the intent look in Miss Kaoru’s eyes was anything to go by, she was already coming up with contingency plans for all their well-being if the hurricane wouldn’t let go soon.

Practical and kind, hard-working, tenacious…

Oh, how Kenshin admired her – even if he would never dare to say it out loud.

However, given the looks Megumi-san was shooting at him, he should join their discussion, instead of sitting by himself.

Well, compared to the options: Sano had grown bored hours ago and had conned Yahiko into going patrolling in the office building. Master had locked himself to his office and hadn’t been seen since. Even Saito had retreated from the other’s company, and currently, he was dozing in his cubicle, muttering in his sleep something about nuclear disasters, Zanza and how useless he found Kenshin.

To be honest, Kenshin wouldn’t even consider waking him up. Who knew if he was having a nightmare or positive dream? At least, by Saito’s (somewhat skewed) standards. The look on his face could have indicated either way…

No, better to leave him alone.

Wincing slightly, Kenshin pulled himself to his feet. Then he drew a neutral smile on his lips and headed towards the ladies group – no matter what Master always claimed, he did NOT enjoy brooding alone, thank you very much. He just had a healthy respect of the sheer amount of mayhem his office colleagues could come up when the situation allowed it.

“Sir Ken! How nice of you to join us,” Megumi-san called out to him, startling Miss Kaoru from the elaborate plan she was drawing in front of them.

“...Kenshin!” She breathed out, her pretty blue eyes zeroing on him.

Kenshin’s throat went dry, and he swallowed weakly. “Miss Kaoru,” he finally managed. “What are you drawing there, that is?”

“Oh, this?” Miss Kaoru reddened slightly. “Ah, well – um, you know while the electricity is still working, it seems that the storm is larger than anyone anticipated, so it might be that we will be stuck here until tomorrow. And for that, it wouldn’t hurt to plan out how to handle the necessities if something else goes wrong. Like, if the water supply cut out, how are we going to handle bathroom visits or washing, or–“

“Basically, we are amusing ourselves with coming up worst case survival scenarios,” Megumi-san interrupted, giving him a pointed glance, “At least it’s better than counting seconds to pass the time.”

“It’s not just an amusement, but reasonable precautions!” Miss Kaoru protested. “We already lost the internet, cell phones, and most phone lines. If the storm gets worse, water, electricity, and warmth might get cut just as easily, you know!”

“Yes, yes.” Megumi-san sighed dramatically. “And the pigs will fly, the rooster will grow up, and a certain unnamed person will stop pining and finally confess their feelings to the office sweetheart.”

“….what.” Miss Kaoru bristled. “You, you–“

“I’m sure Megumi-san didn’t mean it badly!” Young miss Tsubame cut between their bickering. “Please, let’s get back to the planning. Himura-san, maybe you would have some ideas how we could improve? After all, you know Director Seijuuro and his strategies the best.”

A shiver raced down his spine as the memory of Hiko Seijuurou’s strategies and viewpoint for crisis management flashed through his eyes. He had been just eleven when he had been stuck with Hiko in a summer cottage with no supplies (if the Sake bottle the older man carried with him wasn’t counted, and Kenshin certainly didn’t). Hiko had solved the issue by ordering the teenage Kenshin to forage mushrooms and berries from the woods, while he went fishing. With minimal instructions and hunger in his belly, it was no wonder Kenshin had eaten a few mushrooms on the way… and spend the rest of the day laughing himself sick, hallucinating and puking his guts out. The joy.

“Kenshin? What’s wrong?”

“Oro!” Kenshin forced himself to focus on the present. “Ah, nothing is wrong that it isn’t! This one would be glad to offer whatever help he can – even if this one is sure Miss Kaoru’s plan is very good already.”

Miss Kaoru reddened slightly at the praise and glanced aside. “Thank you.”

Megumi just huffed, “you two…”

“Oro?” Kenshin blinked, pretending he didn’t understand what Megumi was insinuating. “What have we done, that is?”

“Never mind her, she is just bored with no soap opera to watch!” Miss Kaoru squeaked in hurry, tapping the place next to her very purposefully. “Please, sit – and then, let’s get back to the planning, shall we?”

Warmth spreading in his chest, Kenshin stifled the foolish smile tugging at his lips and sat down gingerly, a calculated, neutral distance from her. The last thing he needed was her to realize how much he adored every single second spend within her proximity. They were working in the same company. It simply wasn’t appropriate. Even if they belonged to different units, the rumors of such a thing could affect her career and he couldn’t risk that.

No, it was better for him to yearn in silence.

“Miss Kaoru – could you walk this one through what you have planned out so far?” Kenshin asked.

“Oh, yes! Definitely!”” Miss Kaoru said. “Well, firstly…”
