Am I the only person that didn’t love Encanto? I like some of the songs but some of the singing was distractingly bad, the plot felt rushed in every moment and the movie feels choppy. Plus the resolution was disappointing at best. It has great representation design wise, and is a very pretty movie, but not worth the hype.

I feel like my reaction to MVA is so different from everyone else’s because I don’t like the villains. They are well written, obviously, but I just prefer the heroes.

I think that it was very intentional that Luka and Mari ended before they started, and if you don’t get why you missed the theme for the episode. Relationships can’t be built on lies as big as a secret identity, it’s not fair. This is why Mari and Adrien won’t ever date prior to a reveal, they both are learning from their relationships with Luka and Kagami that it just isn’t fair to lie to their partner about something this time consuming in their lives.

I love the NYC special

The New York Special made me fall in love with this show all over again, no unnecessary drama, the drama it has feels natural, great designs and purposeful introduction of characters... It’s very close to a perfect “episode”

What?! A show about interpersonal relationships and comedy is about-interpersonal relationships and comedy?!

What about edgy ten year old romance and drama? And a boring formula with static animation? The horror of a Journey’s being a fun well written kids show!

Guide to shipping for new ninjago fans:

Names are puns on different aspects of each character of the ship, these really only apply to LGBTQ+ ships and not the straight ones.

Cole x Jay: Bruiseshipping (a pun on them being “black and blue”)

Cole x Kai: Lavashipping (earth and fire make lava)

Cole x Zane: Glaciershipping (a glacier is ice that looks like a land mass)

Jay x Kai: Plasmashipping (electricity and fire can’t combine but plasma mimics the two)

Jay x Zane: Technoshipping (Zane is a robot and Jay loves to invent so techno)

Zane x Kai: Oppositeshipping (cause fire and ice are opposites)

Nya x Pixal: Samuraishipping (both of them wore the mantel of samurai x at one point)

Nya x Skylor: Amber Phoenixshipping ( Skylor is the master of amber and Nyas suit symbol in early seasons is a Phoenix)

There are more for side characters and such but those are much less popular and more obscure, new fans might be wondering:

What about Lloyd ships?

Well that’s a controversial question. Lloyd was aged up magically in season two, and some argue that’s because of this Lloyd is mentally much younger than the others. This can lead to Lloyd x Ninja ships being seen as pedophilia and make some fans very uncomfortable. And the writers have all disagreed on the validity of these concerns. The largest Lloyd ship by far though is

Lloyd x Kai: Greenflame (Lloyd’s power is energy which in this show is green and Kai has fire)

So just be aware of all that when discussing that ship, since for some people it will lead to an automatic block.

I recently saw a few posts about how people want ninjago to not be for kids and like? Are you that insecure about liking a kids show you can’t let kids have their show? These are the people who always want cartoons to be serious because that somehow is equal to good writing even though it’s unrelated (ie Craig of the Creek being the best show made by CN right now and it being a slice of life comedy).
