life in technicolor.
MINORS DNI 18+ WARNINGS: not edited mb | f!reader | sex tape | sexual content | established relationship | riding. NOTES: dedicated to @murdrdocs. credit for the cam idea
ABED NADIR had rented out that clunky camera from the film department ages ago. It sits in his living room precariously balanced on a stack of books on a shelf, and you cannot stop staring at it. It draws you in like a moth to flame, constantly staring into its lens. One part of you is paranoid itâs recording because itâs like Abed to leave it on to capture life as it exists, and the other part secretly daydreams he left it on to capture something else. Regardless of any fantasies, you know he wouldnât just leave it on on purpose, right?
You chew your lower lip as you watch it and wonder what it would be like if heâd planned to make a movie with you. One without inhibitions or clothes. That kind of spontaneity isnât within his peripheral, but you still hold out hope.
âWhat are you looking at?â his question snaps you out of your stupor, jumping in place before meeting his expectant gaze. The noises of the movie playing come into focus as your mouth parts only to expel silence. âYou were looking over there so I just thought there was something to look at.â Abed answers your hesitance as if he anticipated your confusion, gesturing with a finger in the direction of the camera while his hand is still wrapped around the spoon in his cereal bowl.
âOh!â you exclaim, glancing between him and the lens, shaking your head. âItâs nothing.â Uncomfortably, you shift in your seat, stuffing your clasped hands between your thighs. He notes that with a twitch to his brow. âI was just staring off into space.â
He continues to test the waters, adjusting the point of his finger towards the TV, âIs the movie boring?â
âMm-mm.â You press your lips together and shake your head again. When you sigh, you visibly relax, sinking into his couch.
âYouâre doing that thing you do.â
You hum in inquiry, frowning at him.
âThe deflection.â Heâs not a stranger to getting lost in thought, but you sure do get lost the most when youâre watching that camera. Regardless of his inexperience in the physical intimacy facet of a relationship, he knows how to read people, and he certainly knows what cameras are used for. He recognizes that flush in your cheeks. âYou wanna try it out?â
At first he kept experimenting, showing you the buttons to press, demonstrating how to hold it, observing your reactions. You arenât interested in being a film major, he knows that, but now that youâve learned how to use it, whoâs to decide what youâll use it on? Itâs easy to deduce where itâs headed, and it gets real dirty real fast.
âPoint it down- between us.â Those breathless words send shivers down your spine, especially because heâs usually so silent when heâs inside you. You do as he says, recording where your bodies conjoin: his ruts up into you, your hole swallowing him up, the ring of cream forming at his base. Itâs not often he gets to indulge you in the physical side of sensuality, this is his way of appeasing you. Heâll trim it up, edit it, make it pretty, and let you have a copy of the sex tape he has a hand in making right now. He doesnât mind, his face isnât in it anyway. Nobodyâll know itâs his tan dick fucking your insides. âI like you⊠like this.â he confesses, and a grin stretches onto your lips when you feel his hands squeeze your hips.
âYou mean when Iâm on top?â
âYes,â he grunts, and a sting shoots through your abdomen. âI like what you look like. You look really pretty. Up there.â Broken phrases are interrupted by his sounds of effort, lithe body bucking into you as you struggle to keep the camera steady.
âDo I feel good?â you whisper, and Abedâs head tilts back. It defines his adamâs apple, and if this camera wasnât in your way youâd lean down to lick it.
Your question does not go unheeded for he knows intimately how important verbal praise is to you, so he tries to be vocal. This is for you. He sucks in a breath, âYes. Yes, very.â

đđđđ đ
đđđđ đđđ đđđ đđđđ đđđ.
pairing(s):Â abed nadir x reader
words: 738
warnings/tags: mentions of neurotypical, abed not understanding, i try to write abed as accurately and appropriate as possible i hope my depiction of him is okay!
abed wasnât one for social cues. you knew this from the start of being in the chaotic study group. whenever someone was sarcastic, he thought they were serious. and if someone was unhappy with him it sometimes took abed a while to notice.
however, you trying to let abed know you like him through simple signs was hellish. even a neurotypical person may not even get the signs, therefore poor abed nadir never stood the chance.
troy, as the role of abedâs best friend â practically platonic boyfriend â did notice the signs. watching as you took more than an interest in his movie rants than even troy could sometimes bear, bringing him hot chocolate in the morning, or asking him fitting questions and smiling lovingly as you watched him go into overdrive and talk it out.
annie and troy would fangirl over it, fawning over their best friend having a love interest. oh how badly they wanted abed to have someone, especially someone like you, who treated him just as well as they did.
troy had been desperate to tell abed, knowing you struggled on that end. but after months, annie had begged troy not to ruin the story and that itâll happen when itâs meant to.
however, his promise to keep it to himself didnât last long. since, one day, after you left their shared apartment â all lovey dovey eyed after hours of watching abedâs favourite movie per your request â troy immediately let it spill.
annie was smiling, watching abed as the door clicked shut and troy reluctantly set his third chocolate cake slice down to the side, ây/n likes you!â
immediately, annieâs smile drops, landing a swift smack against troyâs arm from sitting beside him, âtroy! what did i tell you?â they bicker slightly, at first not noticing their best friendâs confused expression.
âwhat do you mean?â
annie sighs, looking over to abed who is trying to process the news in his own way â which seems to be slightly confusing but overwhelming him all at the same time.
â⊠what troyâs trying to tell you is that y/n likes you, like⊠in a romantic way abed.â
abedâs eyes are darting, eyebrows frowned as he continues to intake the words his friendâs tell him. âin a âletâs get togetherâ way?â asks abed, and they both nod in reply, expectantly watching his expressional response.
abed didnât depict this in their television show, although he did portray you as the âpretty oneâ or as the âcaring and kindâ one of the group which he is now realising is because he thought those things himself.
so, without responding, abed stands, shocking his friendâs as he runs to the door and quickly down the hall. âabed! abed, where are you going?â troy yells desperately, worried tones while annie mutters, âlook what you did.â
he doesnât stop, reading the front door wedged open with an old brick and towards your frame, now opening your car door to drive home. ây/n!â you hear and pause, turning to see abed trudging over.
âabed- whats going on-?â your interrupted as abed kisses you, short but slightly breath-taking as your mind goes blank, in disbelief. once he pulls away, abed says nothing, making you speak first, âis that one of your movie character moments orâŠâ you trail off, unsure what else it would be.
âyou like me.â
you groan embarrassed, âiâm gonna kill troy i swear.â
âi like you.â
you pause, looking up at his daring eyes, scanning your confused expression, ây-you do?â you ask him.
âyeah⊠i think so.â
usually, that answer would worry you, but it was different with abed, it was a major moment between you both in that moment. abed nadir hardly admitted feelings, especially in a romantic sense, unless he was depicting a character.
âdo you think annie and troy will be watching us from the window?â you ask with a giggle and abed smiles, immediately responding, âabsolutely.â
you lean up, pressing a long and heartfelt kiss to abedâs cheek and you watch his reaction, taken aback but a small smile still covers his face. his fingers touch the spot, his cheeks heating up like a furnace while you spin round to your open door to your car.
âiâll see you tomorrow, abed, okay?â
âokay.â abed replies, waving you goodbye as you drive off, knowing he will go back into chaos of annie and troy squealing and celebrating their friendâs newfound romance.

Transfem Abed, for Anon.
So
i tried an angstier version of transfem Abed, while exploring how would the caracter experience gender if she were transfem. I read Abed as agender, but in this AU, she is also kind of genderfluid. I wanted to explore how transition can be a way to gain agency over yourself, to make use of your "will of power" if you will. A mean of self determination . Gender can be as alienating as empowering the moment you start defining it. Idk, i thought it fits with how Abed filters everything through TV.
Also i'm using the I narrator but this isn't me talking, this is Abed lol

abed's rom-com | abed nadir
pairing: Abed Nadir x g/n!reader
fandom: Community
request:Â @lilfartbox1 (i am so sorry for the wait đ) : please any abed nadir comfort / fluff pieces like theres a little angst of them miscommunicating their feelings for eachother and then find out theyve both been doing the same thing of trying to make the other jealous etc
content warnings:Â not proofread, fluff, angst if you squint extremely hard
word count: 910
A/N:Â yikes this is rushed but i recently started watching community again and this had been in my drafts for too long so i wanted to finish it
Abed knew he wasn't the best at dealing with his emotions, often turning to his favourite sitcoms and movies for help. Especially when it came to romance. He hadn't had as much experience with it as he would've liked, so when he realised he started liking you in a romantic way, he quickly became panicked. You were part of the study group, meaning if he started liking you it could potentially ruin the dynamic of the friendship. But when Annie told him you felt the same way about him, he knew exactly what to do. Except he didn't. It wasn't working the way he had planned. He'd been reenacting an age old trope; person a makes person b so jealous that they eventually confess their feelings for person a. He started off small, making sure you'd see him catching glances at some random student in the cafeteria, and zoning out as if he'd been thinking about someone else. That was half true. To make it realistic, he'd always think about you when he pretended to zone out. When someone - normally Annie, who Abed told all about his plan - would catch him staring at someone and begin to tease him about it, he noticed how quiet you would get, how you wouldn't engage in any other conversations and would even leave because you were 'late for something else'. He didn't like it. The last thing he wanted was to know he made you upset. But no one in the movies ever stopped their plan halfway. As much as he wanted to, he didn't stop his plan.
He suspected that his plan was working when you started doing the same thing he did and made him jealous. It was either that, or his plan had backfired and you thought he didn't like you so you moved on. Either way, he still felt insanely jealous of whoever you began to like- whether they were real or not. He needed you to confess to him soon. Very soon. Being so jealous as well as not being sure if he had any reason to be jealous was driving him insane, he couldn't even focus on studying. Not that much studying was happening though.
"Abed, is everything ok?" he barely even registered the question, and was not able to recognize who's voice that was.
"What?" he mumbled back, his mind still elsewhere as he spoke with the group.
"We asked if you were ok." Annie began speaking, "You seem kind of out of it today."
Troy nodded, "Yeah, you and Y/N." Abed's head perked up at the sound of your name, suddenly giving Troy his full attention, "Neither of you have laughed at anything I've said today." he said, looking quite sad.
Abed looked over to where you were sitting, the two of you meeting eyes. You looked at each other for a moment, before announcing to the group you had to leave, not knowing that Abed was following behind you. You stood in one of the more secluded halls, startled when you saw Abed next to you.
"Shit, you scared me."Â
"Sorry," he said, making less eye contact than usual, "I wanted to tell you something."
You nodded, signalling for him to go on.
"I like you, Y/N." he was quick with his confession, after hiding his feelings for long he wanted to get straight to the point, "I know you like someone else, but I need you to know how I felt." as he spoke, the situation became more and more real to him. No matter how cliche the plot between the two of you was, it wasn't a cheesy rom-com movie. It was real life. And in real life, there wasn't a guaranteed requited love story. There was a chance you could reject Abed's feelings, and his friendship with you would be ruined. "I'm sorry if this makes things awkward between us," he said, a frown taking place on his lips, "You're one of my closest friends, but I couldn't keep this from you, that wouldn't be fair to you."
You watched and listened to his confession intently, seeing how genuine his expression and words were. He wasn't playing a character, or just reenacting a scene - no matter how much his confession sounded like it was taken straight out of a rom-com - it was real.
"Abed," you began, "There's no other person. I made that up." you explained, though a part of you figured that he guessed that already, "I only acted like I liked someone else because I thought you liked someone else."
He couldn't help the smile forming on his lips, "I made that up too,"
His smile was contagious, as you quickly felt your lips turning upwards into a smile as you laughed softly, "You should start making romance movies."
"I have no interest in doing that. I could but I don't think I'd find it very enjoyable." he paused, "But I appreciate the sentiment."
"Speaking of movies, would you wanna see a movie with me sometime?"
"I would like that. We can look at session times together when we're finished studying. We should also get back to the library."
You nodded, unable to stop the smile growing on your lips as you asked, "Do you wanna hold hands when we walk back or...?"
He smiled softly and held out his hand for you to hold, "I would like that."
"Cool." you took his hand.
"Cool cool cool."

unpopular opinion that might go against everything I've expressed up to this point: idk if I want Trobed to be canon in the movie.
like yeah, queer representation would be amazing, and if it ends with them in any other relationship I will sue for emotional damages, but like..... part of the fun of shipping is that it's fandom-made. I think the argument that Trobed is queerbaiting mostly gets caught up on season 4, with all the boyfriend jokes, the dick checking, etc. but we also have to acknowledge that season 4 was made by the same people who made Aliens In America, obviously that doesn't speak for the writers specifically but it does give you a significant insight into the thought process behind the increase in gay jokes.
at the same time, idk how it would handle that relationship. we've seen every explicit relationship in the show go south within ten episodes and I just idk. like, they only have to handle it for two hours at most, but there are too many variables it's so iffy and aurgh, I don't know if I trust the writers to give us this one solid.
I just don't think it's very likely to happen. but if it does, if they kiss on screen and/or explicitly state "yes, we are in a relationship, and we are in love" I will bake a cake, a whole cake, with a cup and a half extra of salt. the cake will be inedible and I will eat an entire slice on camera as proof. i'll also decorate it with an apology for being wrong, this is a dead serious promise because I know for a fact it won't be canon (like 99.7% sure).
i've been consuming so much explicitly queer media recently that I regularly just forget that Troy and Abed aren't canonically together. if push comes to shove, and they aren't canon in the movie, we can always just convince each other that it is :]
#and I *hope* it is canon just so we're clear#I would LOVE that sm#but like. guys im sorry it probably won't happen#i like making my little fanfictions and having them not really grounded in canon <3#that's the fun of fandom!! taking something you like#tweaking it a little#and making your own thing!!!!!#it's FUN guys#community#community nbc#nbc community#trobed#abed nadir#troy barnes

too bad i forget.
MINORS DNI 18+ NOTES: takes place during s2e2 where annie, abed, and troy break into a lawyers office | not sure how i feel about this bcos it was stuck in my head and i felt like i was trying to fit too many things in but whatevs
âYou guys!â you exclaim, stamping your foot in frustration. âIâm the smartest one in the group and all Iâve been used for is bait and distraction.â With each angry bounce in placeâconveying your mini temper tantrum as you complainâyou hadnât realized your chest rippled from the impacts of your stomps until their eyes drifted and remained there. Both Troy and ABED NADIR watch your curves move under the thin material of your form-fitting dress, and you scoff in offense. Your arms cross over, veiling your cleavage and breaking their trance. Finally, they meet your gaze as you frown at them. Itâs humiliating enough to be looked at like a piece of meat, but you wouldâve never expected that behavior from Abed.
A little later, it furthers still when you lift a box of files to prop open the door. Your little heels donât stay under you when you crouch, sliding to a sit on the floor with your legs folded out on either side of you, and your ass jiggles from your firm landing. Embarrassed, you squeak, and whirl your head around to face the boys, checking if they caught your blunder. Troy has his back turned, but Abedâs unabashedly watching. His eyes follow the deep arch of your back, how your ass fans out sat against the floor, your smooth legs tucked in a most exquisite way. It shocks you enough to idle as he tilts his head. Only when you scramble up, face hot and deeply colored, does Abed return to his task of searching the computer for evidence. Hastily, you dust off your outfit, and make sure itâs not exposing more than it already was. Briefly, you remember the way he scanned you, and you feel a disappointment you didnât let that linger a little longer.
You and Abed arenât a thing, but you know how upset he sounded when he heard Jeff had kissed you that night, after the dance. The big reveal right in that study room had him practically storm out after verbalizing Jeffâs blatant disregard for human decency. It was mortifying to say the least, youâd never seen Abed so upset. His voice had a subtle edge that you may have never noticed if you didnât spend so much time with him. Additionally, there was that one time that Pierce had described you and Britta asâwhat he believed to beâyour most identifying features: one of you was âflat-assâ and the other was âthe one Abed wants to nail.â One million questions had flooded your head all of them having to do with the latter. Another time was pottery class, and you hadnât realized it in the moment, but sculpting a defined phallic shape accidentally had caught the eye of both Abed and Jeff. Running your wet hands up and down the shaft of the clay had brought them both to pensive silence as they observed your graceful movements. All this evidence kept piling up to explain Abedâs strange behavior tonight, but you keep denying it.
You keep denying it right up until you canât take it anymore, right up until youâre back at his place, straddling him. Your lips against his, you find him oddly stiff. The kiss itself isnât unpleasant, but you can feel his hesitance. Or maybe heâs just nervous, manifesting in rigid movements. Nevertheless, you find it appealing. A guy who gets worked up kissing strikes your fancy because youâve always imagined yourself as the one to take it slow. Itâs refreshing that heâs beating you to it. Your dress is cascaded over his pelvis, and his head is propped up on the armrest of his couch. Sweetly, heâs returning your kiss the best of his ability, even parting your lips with his when he slips you a glimpse of tongue.
You pull away to speak, but he interrupts your path. âDid I not do it right?â he asks, but his tone is characteristically devoid of concern. Instead, itâs calculative, as if heâs been measuring your enjoyment inside his head and is surprised to have been incorrect just now.
âOh, youâre doing fine.â you reply with a relieved grin, clutching onto the front of his shirt. âI just wanted to sayâŠâ You lean down, pecking his willing lips. âyou could⊠you know, touch me a little.â Those hands of his have been faithfully laying atop your thighs this entire exchange, and he glances warily down at them. So you help him. âLike this.â You palm the backs of his hands and gently glide them along your body, riding up your dress as they come to sit at the space right above your ass. Searching his eyes, you can see a glint of enthusiasm pass through them, and then those curious hands invite themselves to take a generous grope of your backside, incidentally rutting your core against the crotch of his jeans. You exhale, disbelief mixed with pleasure, and you could predict he was gonna say he saw this move in a movie once. Didnât give him the chance though, pressing your chest against his to recapture his lips.
Strangely forward, Abed experimentally rocks you. Shallow jostles back and forth which is not at all what you expected from him. Itâs unnerving until a twang slips from his lips, âGonna ride me like a cowgirl tonight, huh?â
It becomes clear. You can tell heâs getting nervous treading into unknown territory, and falling back on a reference you donât understand playing a character you donât know is a way to diffuse that. âThis is not a movie, Abed.â you chide.
âSorry.â

Hey Iâm đ±đ« Anon the one that asked for that detailed Brad Bakshi fic, and I wanted to ask if you are going to release it or if you donât feel like writing it anymore (itâs totally fine either way) is mostly just to know.
Also I love how you have decorated your blog with a F1 theme. Iâm a fellow F1 fan (since childhood) and Iâm also Spanish so seeing that you have a Carlos profile picture always makes my day âșïž
-đ±đ«
crying lightning (unfinished/pt. 1)
Brad Bakshi was by no means a warm person. At least, not that you had thought until now.
pairing: brad bakshi x coworker reader [second person, no y/n]
warnings: a couple of cliches, fear of dark and thunderstorms, power outage, profanity, developing feelings. mostly fluff/comfort. brad is a little bit of an asshole, as expected (and now youâre caught up!), but not the whole time. one mention of c.w.
(unfinished) word count: 2.3k
a/n: based off of this request here! heyyyy đ±đ« anon, I really appreciated the request! hope you donât mind I focused it more so on season one/two brad. sorry this took so long to post and I didnât even get to finish it, I got caught up in the struggles of daily life smh đ but thank you so much for your patience, I might finish it if I get the motivation but at the moment Iâm not sure⊠also yes Iâm into f1 now!! I might write for some of the drivers if people really want that but Iâm not sure since Iâve been very busy. let me know if youâd be interested in that!
Your keys clinked together as you locked the front door of your apartment. After that was done, you slipped them into your bag and began the ten-minute walk to work. The sounds of Los Angeles were blocked out by the headphones you wore, listening to music and podcasts as you crossed streets and walked along the pavement. People, although no more than faces and outfits, passed you every day on the same route you went to get to Mythic Quest headquarters. It felt like just another day.
âFuuuuuuuck.â You groaned, slouching down and letting your head hit the desk with a thud. The rain was absolutely pouring outside, you could hear it.
Being on the writing team wasnât as glamorous as you had hoped it would be. C.W., as much as you initially admired his works, was an incredibly lousy head writer. That was normal, but especially today, he or one of the other slightly psychotic department heads were extra adamant on making sure you couldnât get any work done. Thus youâd needed to stay a little later than normal.
It was only an extra half hour to revise a rough draft and a couple storyboarding charts, youâd told yourself. That was before the rain started twenty minutes into those extra thirty minutes. If you had left on time, you would have been able to get home â and with time to spare! â without needing to get rained on. Since youâd waited, though, the rain started, and forced you to stay in the building until it dissipated. When you checked your phone that morning, the forecast was only clear and sunny. That was clearly not the case now. Locked in your workplace, you decided to continue working until you either finished or the rain stopped.
Back to the present moment, you had just finished the work you needed to do, but the rain hadnât let up. It didnât seem like it was going to any time soon, either. If anything, it sounded like it was getting worse. You sat up, leaning back into the rolling chair you had, and pressing your hands to your closed eyes in frustration.
âWhat are you still doing here?â It was almost like Brad could smell the despair emanating from your being.
Not expecting his sudden presence, you nearly jumped at the mere sound of his voice.
âJesus Christ, Brad,â You abruptly pulled your hands away from your face and gripped the armrests of the chair. âScared the shit out of me.â
He scoffed. âI try. But what are you doing here? Work ended an hour ago.â
âI could say the same for you.â
âYeah, you could. But I asked first. And you still havenât answered.â
You inhaled through your teeth before pursing your lips. âOkay, fine, I wanted to just finalize some stuff the writing team and I were working on today. Poppy and Ian wouldnât leave me alone because they were having one of their little⊠piss fights and were bothering everyone to see who was âright.â I wasnât gonna stay for that long, but the rain clearly had other plans.â You halfheartedly gestured to the windows in the main room that showed the overcast sky and harsh rain happening outside.
Brad didnât even bother looking behind him. âAnd, what? You donât have a ride or something?â
You furrowed your brows at his response. âDude. I literally walk to work every day. Itâs easier because itâs not that far and I get to avoid the issues of traffic and having to park in the parking structure, you know? And the gas prices, have you seen that bullsh-â
âYeah, yeah I get it, whatever. Just shut it. I didnât come here to listen to you complain.â He waved a hand around aimlessly as he began to roll his eyes.
Neither of you said anything further for a moment, you just sat there watching as he studied the ground. If you hadnât been looking at him, you wouldnât have noticed the very subtle twitch of his eye and the little exasperated sigh he let out as he seemed to be weighing his options. He opened his mouth, but paused. Then he went on to speak.
âYou donât even have like a flimsy little umbrella or something? A raincoat? Nothing?â He hung his head slightly lower, talking with an air of disbelief.
âDoes it look like it, Bakshi?â You held your hands up and swiveled around in the chair a little, glancing quickly around the room with furrowed brows. âIf I had either of those I would have left already.â
âI donât know what goes through your mind,â He scoffed again. âIâm not a lowly writer. Iâm the HOMIE.â
You didnât really have any words. You wanted to so desperately insult him but you knew he would easily be able to destroy you with less effort. Instead you opted for just biting your tongue.
âWhatever. Iâll probably just wait it out. Even if it means I have to sleep in my office.â You moved your chair closer to the desk and laid your forehead down, quietly groaning in defeat.
Although you couldnât see him, you could tell Brad was fidgeting slightly from where he stood in the doorway. The rain pattered onto the pavement outside, but you could hear the slight rustle of whatever sweater he was wearing, the tapping of his shoe on the carpeted floor, the liquid he swirled around in his mug. Eventually he spoke.
âDid youâŠâ He trailed off, clearly reluctant. âDid you need a ride?â
Your brows furrowed, again, against the cold desk. âReally?â You were in disbelief as you sat up in your chair. âThe infamous Brad Bakshi, greedy, heartless bastard of MQ, offering to give a âlowly writerâ a ride? Is this real? Am I on a prank show? Where are the cameras?â You gave him an exaggerated gasp as you quickly whipped your head around the room and spun around in your chair.
âDo you want that car ride or not?â His blank expression said it all. Brad was not amused.
âFine, fine, just let me get my stuff real quick.â
Brad walked briskly, not waiting for you to catch up as he practically sprinted through the staff parking structure. âPick up the pace, writer.â
You grumbled little insults under your breath so he wouldnât hear, and began walking faster to keep up. âFine, âhomie.ââ
The two of you eventually got to his car. It was nothing too extravagant. Fairly generic, but sleek enough for his taste.
[Iâm so sorry I donât know or remember what car Brad drives/would drive â if anyone has an answer for this please hmu LMAO. I feel like it would be either silver, blue, or black (some of the most generic car colors but with somewhat deeper connection to him as a person/character).]
The inside smells faintly like an air freshener but more like something more comfortable and just there. Somewhat like dust, but not unpleasantly so. You get into the passenger seat as Brad gets into the driverâs. He hands you his phone, already open to a navigation app for you to put your address into. You begin doing so, but a weather advisory appears. At the same time, you can feel your own phone vibrate inside your bag, presumably giving you the same notice. âHarsh rain and possible storms in the general LA area. Staying home is recommended.â it read. Brad leans over a little, just to see the notification.
âHm. Would have been nice to know before I left for work this morning.â You scoffed, a little weary but continuing to type your address before you gave him his phone back.
He took it and began the route, the two of you leaving the parking structure in silence. It was a little uncomfortable, you had to admit, but not for long.
âIf you want music you can put something on. Just connect your phone with bluetooth.â Brad said softly.
It was unexpectedly quiet and gentle, a stark contrast to his normal brash demeanor.
âOh, okay.â
You pressed some things on the dashboard, before connecting your phone and playing some of your favorite music. It didnât seem like Brad had much of an opinion on it. Rain continued to patter on the windshield as the car was stagnant.
âThanks, by the way.â You kind of blurted out, but it was genuine. âI forgot to say it earlier, but it means a lot.â
His response was brief. âItâs whatever.â
The temporary silence returned. Another buzz sounded from your phones. Rather than taking yours out, you just leaned over to look at Bradâs phone. Another notice, but this time a warning. âExpected storms within next twelve hours. Power outages in some areas of LA and southern California. It is advised to stay off the roads during this time frame.â
âShit.â You murmured, clearly more worried now. âMy apartmentâs still another ten minutes away because of the trafficâŠâ
âYep.â Brad was still stoic.
âHey, by the way, where do you live? Are you far away from here? âCause I donât want you to have to drive to my apartment and then all the way back if itâs like the opposite direction.â
âItâs like five minutes away from MQ.â
You were silent for a moment, out of disbelief. âWhat?â
âYeah. I live five minutes away.â
âAnd you donât just walk?â
âNope.â
âWhy not?â
ââCause.â
âGod, Brad, youâre such a-â
âAn environmentally apathetic asshole? Self-centered douchebag? Lazy bum? Iâve heard it all and I really couldn't care less.â
âOkay, but seriously, I donât want you to, like, hydroplane and-or get into an accident on the way back to your place. You might as well just drop me off here and turn back now.â
Brad turned to you, an eyebrow raised and head cocked slightly to the side. âAs âon-brandâ that would be for me, thatâs an actual asshole move, and I donât want your death to be on my hands if you get swept up and away by some random gust of wind.â
âOh, wow, so he does have a heart.â You quipped.
Brad rolled his eyes again, looking out at the cars in front of you. âAs much as I hate to admit it, yes, I do. All humans do, because it pumps blood throughout their fucking bodies. I thought you were smarter than this, writer.â
âYou know what I mean. Iâm not that much of a dumbass.â
âReally? I hadnât noticed.â
âOh, my god, just⊠shut up. Also are you not in any way worried about our current situation? Weâre bound to get into an accident at this rate, we need to get to our places as soon as we possibly can.â
âOkay, well, the traffic to get to your apartment is still not clearing up, so if youâre so worried, Iâll drop you back off at MQ and then Iâll head to my house.â
You shook your head at the notion, groaning. âNo, no, no, no, I canât stay at MQ overnightâŠâ
Brad turned back to look at you. A strange hint of a smile graced his lips as he scoffed.
âWhat happened to âIâll wait the rain out even if it means I have to sleep at my desk?ââ
You felt the heat of embarrassment rise up your neck and to your cheeks, turning away from him and facing the window to avoid eye contact. âI donât know, I didnât think Iâd actually have to do it. Especially after you offered me a ride! And now weâre in the car, it seemed pretty unlikely that it would still be happening.â
For the first time in you ever knowing him (your two years at MQ), Brad Bakshi laughed. It wasnât one of his sarcastic chuckles, nor a strained noise, but a genuine laugh. You had a puzzled look on your face, and whipped your head around to see him. His eyes were shut, he was slightly hunched over, and his smile was clear as day. He continued to laughâpresumably at youâbut for once, you didnât mind. The sight was a joy to see. Sure, Brad was an asshole, but he had his moments. A smile of your own crept its way onto your face as you watched him laugh for a few seconds longer. As his laughter wound down, a sudden crack of lightning flashed across the sky, a rumble of thunder following immediately after, startling the both of you.
âShit!â You hissed, jumping in your seat. âOkay, okay, we really need to get to safety, like⊠now. This shit is actually dangerous, Brad. I donât want you getting injured or worse because of my lack of preparation. If you really need to drop me off at the office on your way to your place, thatâs⊠fine.â
Although unhappy that the start of your weekend would be ruined by having to sleep over in your office building, you figured it would be better than causing Brad to get stuck in the storm. You awaited his response, once again watching him as he thought for a moment.
Suddenly, he let out a quiet groan, tilting his head down, leaning his forehead lightly against the wheel. âI canât believe Iâm about to offer this to you, of all people, but if youâre so god damn worried about my safety⊠I have a guest room at my house.â
His sudden generosity confuses and delights you. Itâs strange, thatâs for sure, but itâs a welcome surprise.
âReally?â
âWhy else would I have said it?â It was a question but it came out as more of a statement.
âI donât know, itâs just⊠weird. Not to say that I donât accept, but itâs oddly kind of you. Not something commonly associated with the image of Brad Bakshi.â
He shrugged. âI know. So do you accept or not?â
âI do, thank you so much.â You spoke quickly, hoping he wouldnât rescind the offer. âIâm sorry to cause you so much inconvenience.â
âIâm sorry too. Iâm sorry youâre so dumb that you didnât prepare a way back home.â
âOh, my god.â

You're the Only Friend I Need a Trobed fic
Author's Notes: Wow I have been very inactive and I'm also going on vacation so I rushed to finish this, I'll beautify this post along with my BT fanfic later. I saw this beautiful Trobed artwork on Tumblr by @greatredangel and it made me think of the song Ribs by Lorde. Then I visualized them dancing at a bar to the song while Abed is having bittersweet thoughts. It became this. Hope y'all enjoy Troy and Abed in a ba-ar! Again?
Also I just realized really late that Ribs was released three years after Mixology Certification aired but oh well, I love the song and I try meta-referencing my misstep in the fic lmao. Comment and feedback is well-appreciated! This is my first time writing Community fanfic and I hope I didn't screw up, especially with writing Abed. He's the best. They're all just the best, I love this show so much. Comments and feedback are appreciated! This whole thing is just wholesome romantic fluff with very light angst that gets resolved anyway, no trigger warnings! This made me so happy to write!

Someone stormed away.
Thatâs how it always happened.
Abed didnât choose to have more interest in dissecting the implications of Farscape being an influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the ragtag character dynamics of the crew of the Moya , or the suspicion that Greendale was headed in a similar direction to the fourth season which, frankly, he might have preferred to get interrupted before speaking about.
Not that he had a choice. One of the few people who understood his references was interested in something moreâŠcarnal.Â
But Abed knew what he liked, what he thought, what he was good at. And being straightforward with it, absorbing and deconstructing every little detail?Â
It was what passion was. At least for him.
The inner workings of bumbling off-duty patrons drowning their daily sorrows into looking to score, on the other hand? Not at all.Â
He did see it coming. He was all but waiting for the rejection. But it was fun talking about Farscape .
While it lasted.
Nevertheless, it was Monday. And as expected, he was just fine. It was an odd night.
His thoughts turned to Troy. With the study group more amped up than usual due to the alcohol, he realized Troy got left alone due to the ensuing drama.Â
Thus ruining his birthday.
âHey, Troy?âÂ
Troy looked at him. Abed felt that rush of energy that always came whenever he did. âYeah, Abed?â It was cliche, but the birthday surprise trope was still a classic. âThereâs something I forgot to give you for your birthday. Happy belated birthday, by the way.â
A surprised smile lit up Troyâs face. âReally? This is too much, man. Iâm still losing it over Kickpuncher.â
âI figured. With the abundance of alcohol in the study group, perhaps an easygoing, intimate night out on the town as Troy and Abed should make for a nicer birthday. Shall we?â
Troy clapped his hands. âLetâs roll.â
They did the handshake. Their handshake.
Abed was not a driver.
He legally was, but avoided it unless it was an occasion where he absolutely had, or even more rarely, wanted to.
This was one such occasion. Â
âNo way, is this the same bar?â Troy gaped slightly, moving forward in his seat as he recognized Flannahanâs Hole.
âThe second chance trope is a bit stale, but a well-done redemption arc works wonders,â Abed confirmed as he parked the car.
Troy laughed as he and Abed got out and headed inside. It looked exactly the same as it did on Troyâs birthday: just like any other bar, albeit apparently the least offensive of them if Jeff and Brittaâs word was anything to go by.
To Abedâs relief though, the man from earlier wasnât there.
âAbed?â Troy asked. Abed immediately recognized his hesitating tone, and felt something akin to a pang in his heart.
âTroy?â Abed knew he talked quickly, but his response was a bit faster and more urgent than usual. If Troy was nervous or on edge, Abed might as well have ruined another birthday for him.
âIâŠdonât really want to drink,â Troy began, taking a breath and looking to the ground, gathering his thoughts. Then Troy locked eyes with him.
Momentarily, nothing existed except Troy.
âWhen I was ordering my drink, IâŠI saw how out of it everyone was, staring off into space, not able to feel much of anything, not able to do much of anythingâŠwe just didnât look happy.â Troyâs tone was candid, kind, mournful, his usual cheerful energy replaced by a more careful, concerned tone.Â
âSo, I didnât drink. I got everyone and drove us home.â
Abed remembered that as the other members of the study group were drowning figuratively or literally in their personal misery, Troy was the one to bring them back together.Â
âSorry,â Troy said with a bit of uncertainty, embarrassed when he shouldnât have to feel bad because Abed reminded him of a day he had to hold everyone else together.
When Troy deserved one where the roles were reversed.
Abed swallowed. He wanted to say only the best possible words.
âMe neither, honestly,â he started. âYou donât have anything to be sorry for. Itâs your birthday.â
Troy smiled, the previous moment forgotten. âThanks, Abed.â
A new song started playing overhead in the bar. Abed squinted his eyes slightly.Â
The drink you spilt all over meâŠ
He undoubtedly knew movies better than music, but the song felt out of place for some reason. Was it a continuity error? He hadnât heard it on the radio before. Weird.Â
My mom and dad let me stay homeâŠ
âDo you want to dance?â Troyâs question shook Abed out of his thoughts, and he looked at Troy, calm yet eager about his suggestion. Abed couldnât help but oblige, and the song piqued his interest the longer he listened to it.
âSure.â
How you wish it would be all the timeâŠ
There wasnât a whole lot of space within the bar, so Abed and Troy just moved close to a few empty seats. Unlike some of their choreographed or improvised dance routines which were occasionally elaborate, they kept it simple due to the nature of the event, and the difference this particular song had from their usual background music.
It drives you crazy getting oldâŠ
Abed was coolly and steadily hopping up and down, raising his left, then right leg to the beat. Troy took to clapping to the beat as he got into the song.Â
Abed didnât have many great memories as a kid.
This dream isn't feeling sweet, we're reeling through the midnight streetsâŠ
But right here, right now, dancing alone with Troy, he knew.
This. This was what childhood was supposed to be.
Doing whatever you felt like doing, not worrying about anything else, just having fun.
So what if he was only truly living it right now, as a film student in the most chaotic community college in the world?
He was living it. And for however long it would last?
It feels so scary, getting old....
He would enjoy it.
Abed hadnât realized he had his eyes closed the whole time since he started dancing until he opened them to look straight at Troy.
Everything else went still.
Troy had a smile of pure ecstasy and euphoria and was moving completely of his own accord, not trying to impress, not having to try anything , justâŠdancing, and enjoying it.
We can talk it so good, we can make it so divineâŠ
His hips swayed perfectly as he bounced to the beat, his knees smoothly kicking out as he bobbed up and down, not breaking a sweat. His head twisted from side to side, carefree and peaceful. He moved his elbows and hands up and down rhythmically with ease. And of course, that smile.
Has Abed seen Troy dance before? Many times.
But none so picturesque as this exact moment.
Then Troy opened his eyes. If things were still before, it wasnât comparable to this.
I want âem back, I want âem back, the minds we had, the minds we hadâŠ
Troyâs eyes were a bit more serious, curious, and earnest. He stepped closer to Abed, still perfectly on beat.
How all the thoughts, how all the thoughts, moved âround our heads, moved âround our headsâŠ
Abed was still slightly moving his legs to the beat, but he was focused on stepping as close as Troy saw fit.
I want âem back, I want âem back, the minds we had, the minds we hadâŠ
They kept moving closer. They didnât notice the bar patrons staring.
Itâs not enough to feel the lack, I want âem back, I want âem back, I want âem!
And their lips touched. Their eyes closed as they danced more slowly now, their arms now touching each other. Supporting each other.
Heâd never let him fall.
Youâre the only friend I need, sharing beds like little kidsâŠ
They just stayed there, now only slowly moving from side to side once every measure of the song, their grip on each other soft not to overwhelm, but steady, never to let the other go.
And laughing till our ribs get tough, but that will never be enough⊠âYEAH!â yelled people in the background as applause and cheers were heard, the first time he had focused on the outside world in a bit. Abed rarely ever had applause and cheers for him, neither did he seek it, but in this specific moment, it invigorated him. It did the same for Troy, as they briefly removed their lips to take a breath before diving back in, emboldened.
Youâre the only friend I need, sharing beds like little kidsâŠ
Troy and Abed released each other, parting with powerful, slow breaths. Troy was staring with him, those same earnest eyes, but with total adoration and awe.
Based on his expression, Abed knew he shared the equivalent facial expression.
And laughing till our ribs get tough, but that will never be enough... âGood enough?â Abed asked Troy at the songâs end. Speaking to him was always comforting, but it felt like it had escalated to a whole new level now.
âNever better,â Troy answered in the most angelic, warmest tone Abed had ever heard.
They basked in the joy of the rest of the bar, all of them happy for them, for Troy and Abed. Troy laughed, equal parts blushing and grateful. Abed nodded at them in equally thankful acknowledgement.Â
As they walked out, Abed caught the eye of the guy from earlier. He must have come in after them.
Compared to his more irritable, sour impression upon their first meeting, the bar guy was glad, sincere. He had a gentle, knowing smile. There were a variety of meanings he could derive from his face. First of all, he felt bad for his behavior during the last meeting. Secondly, he was happy for him and Abed.Â
âHey, I see you're going through stuff, and I'm sorry I didn't see that earlier,â the bar guy started a bit awkwardly. Then he seemed to be emboldened himself as well. âBut I get it now, and I'm happy for you. For the both of you."
It was validating, to say the least.Â
âThank you,â Abed responded. âIt was a better night.â
âI can see,â the bar guy giggled, looking at the two a bit sheepishly. âOkay, okay, we get it,â Troy was trying like mad to calm down, but he was clearly bashful.
As Abed drove the two away from the bar, they were quiet for a long time, processing the moment they just had.
Troy broke the silence first.
âAbedâŠis it okay if I want more moments like that?â
Abed had never felt so at peace in his life.
âI was going to ask the same thing,â he said in a soft tone he didnât even know he was capable of.
Troy beamed yet again, and initiated their running gag. Abed immediately caught on. âTroy and Abed to-ge-ther!â

"The Constable was a woman now"
So,
This post feels a bit personnal because it's a fanart I've made from a fic actually, Girls in Soft Sweaters by Abed on ao3. It's a really short one, but has so much to it I keep coming back to read it every once in a while because the writing is just...
It's so on point, I dont know how to explain but it really spoke to me how the feelings are discribed so precisely, the small things that trigger the main character that look so stupid yet are so accurate, the humor, idk how to say it, it just rewired my brain lol.
Idk maybe it won't speak to most ppl here but like it felt important to me.
Basically, the fic explores Troy's feelings through little snippets as she discovers she's transfem. It's also trobed but the romance is closely intertwined with gender exploration and in a way that feels so real.
Thank you for writing this, @troynabed.
