seeing some of the comments and takes people have about Arcane is crazy, bc why is being a Caitlyn Kirammin stan starting to feel like being a Abby Anderson stan

i’m being so serious the lack of media literacy and empathy in discussions surrounding those characters is CRAZY

Arcane has complex characters for a REASON, same with tlou, there is no “good” or “bad guy”. Also (no hate to Jinx bc i love the character) but bending over backwards to excuse EVERYTHING she’s done, but tearing down Caitlyn for literally anything? It’s hypocritical at this point,

to me, as soon as logan said in 4.02 “I love you, but you are not serious people” I felt the whole season was going to be about whether or not the kids accept this as their reality and as the truth, or whether they will die fighting against it.

kendall fought tooth and nail, until he was violent and rabid and delusional, and even changing the past just to cling onto something that wasn’t even real, nor was it his to begin with.

shiv accepted it in some way, but still clings to a scrap of power by staying with tom because she can’t stand not to have at least one toe dipped in the pool, especially since now she knows for certain that every single man in her life will betray her anyway so she might as well just stick with the one she can tolerate the most. she couldn’t tolerate kendall like she could tom.

roman on the other hand, I would say has arguably the most interesting ending of the three. his spiel of “this means nothing, it’s all bullshit” wasn’t coming from a place of numbness and immaturity like it was in 4.08. it was him accepting his father’s premise, and him telling kendall “you’re bullshit, I’m bullshit, it’s all bullshit. it’s not real” is him embracing that truth about himself and getting to a place where he doesn’t need the power or the throne or even the approval anymore. he is who he is, and he embraces his fate and whatever comes next. which, all flaws considered, is… actually pretty healthy???
