Toto throws his hands in the air. "Frankly, I don't understand your hang-ups about AI companionship. It's the done thing now, and your models are the best on the market. You could change the game, if you weren't so--"

"I said no," says Lewis.

Toto lifts an eyebrow. "I suppose your gifts are reserved just for you? Your prototype--" He points in the direction of other robot-Nico, the prototype Lewis is always tinkering with, sitting placidly on a rather avant-garde armchair in the corner of the lab. "--behaves awfully affectionately, don't you think?"

Lewis frowns, assessing proto-Nico's idle seat. The cycle of his breath is so natural Lewis could almost be fooled into thinking he was real, if he didn't feel the swell of pride in his chest at the fact that he made proto-Nico, made him almost as good as the real thing. "He's experimental. Not--not ready for the market."

Toto crosses his arms, assessing. "I'm sure."

latest dream idea: what if anakin and obi-wan swapped origins? kinda, anyway (this is the kind of thing i'm honestly surprised i haven't already mused on to death, tbh)

the age gap was smaller - anakin was still younger, maybe 10, but obi-wan was like 15 (in canon obi-wan is what, 24? 25 when he meets nine-year-old anakin? so that's 14/15 years rather than like. 5). ("you're the closest thing i have to a father" says anakin. "then why don't you listen to me??" asks frustrated teen parent obi-wan lol oh no.) ANYWAY they weren't on tatooine either, but a similarly lawless place and there was still racing of some type and obi-wan was a racer. also no shmi 😒 i wonder if she was still anakin's mom and he'd just been found earlier?? could be. don't remember that part

the main thing i remember is obi-wan being all alone in this scary place, effectively faking an exit when he was otherwise going to be... idk, beat up i think? and i was briefly in qui-gon's place while following where he'd really gone and telling him quietly where to find me later. and a definite determination to save him

which i understand, as someone who loves obi-wan dearly, but idk what your thought process is here, qui-gon! bc if nine was too old i think everyone is going to think you have legit lost your mind walking in with someone halfway through his teens! and he ain't even a candidate for chosen one! there's defiance and then there's delusion, and then there's whatever this is

the dream ended before that became relevant, tho. so now i get to chew on a slightly more plausible swap... 🤔

Yesterday's poll decided that The Adventurer should join the travelers on the larger river boat for a short lunch ...

"Before he even fully musters the courage to shout a 'hello', the large group on the boat initiates contact first, gleefully waving at him, whooping and shouting as they near his tiny raft in the water. Apparently, some of them were betting over whether they'd actually find any other travelers out on the river today.. He fumbles over his words a bit, as always, but somehow manages to successfully get himself invited onto their boat for a quick lunch..

After safely securing his raft to the side of the boat with some spare rope, he climbs aboard, stumbling into the excitement of some sort of celebration. A few of them explain that they're traveling for 'kahesallei', an old elven holiday recently re-popularized in some of the larger cities nearby. Whatever it's true meaning and origins used to be, the current significance (at least to those within the city walls) seems to just be mindless feasting, drinking, and gaudy decor. Most of the traveling group are strangers to each other, only brought together by catching a ride on the same tour/party boat, but the mood is light, quite friendly between them, and perhaps a bit drunk.

While the boat itself is relatively plain wood, it's been strewn with gold and orange banners, flags, shimmery tassels, beads, and bushels of dark green ivy braided with fresh herbs and wildflowers. There are flat round tables of food and drink, plenty of cushions to lounge on, and one random guy perched precariously on the edge railing of the boat, gently strumming a lute for background music..

The elderly ship captain hobbles over to The Adventurer, sternly explaining that, no matter what the 'silly' passengers say, he's only allowed to stay for an hour because he didn't pay for a boat ride ticket, and thus really shouldn't even be allowed on board. By the time The Adventurer has mentally processed this information, the captain has already returned to his little steering room, slamming the door shut with a displeased grunt.. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to confront him or question the rules...... But! Hey, at least he has one hour at the party.. How should he spend his time? "

I love just abandoning Elden Ring playthroughs I'm just like "okay that's enough" and start a new game...I've been playing Elden Ring almost nonstop (with a little mass effect break) since I got it in November and it's now June. And I'm still like...hm I think I'm done with this strength/int endeavor I want to try blasphemous paladin again

Inz has a bad habit of leaving without telling anyone. And she’s done it again. Where’s she gone?

She doesn’t know either, she’s completely lost in some abandoned seeming and eerily quiet city. Smog covers the entire town and is so thick she can barely see anything more than a couple of metres in front of her.

She’d initially chased something or someone into the place but they’d disappeared, seemingly knowing their route through the brumous city, and she was left wandering.

She could fly out…but the problem is she doesn’t know how high to fly up until she can get out of the smoke, and if she flies out she could just fly straight into a building or some bird or something. Going on foot is better for her, she could at least hear anyone coming towards her if not see them.

Every time you make a post about yourself I’m reminded of how fucking similar we are and it’s always something new and it’s so weird. Like I vent my issues through creative works but sometimes I’ll write it and it’ll take me months to realize that’s a problem I even have. I have several projects about the character (basically my self fucking insert let’s be real) being unfeeling at least out worldly or their powers or whatever they’ve got causes them to have no emotions or they were raised that they literally cannot show emotions (🤨 that’s a real project I’ve had for years. Idk how we are the same person) and therefore don’t. But one that I have in particular has a scene where the MC is watching his sister cry in their mom’s arms and he’s just thinking “how could she let herself be so vulnerable? Isn’t she embarrassed?” And later he realizes he was also somewhat jealous bc while they share a mom, she never lets him be anything but a punching bag and he has to be emotionless. This is totally not based on a real experience whatsoever and I have a normal relationship with my family *eye twitches*. This is so many words to say that I get that a lot. Even when I’m struggling I’d have my mom be like ��you’re such an asshole why can’t you just snap yourself out of it” or thinking she’s being lighthearted by going “this is why all your friends leave you” and I’m like ah. I’m never saying anything ever again. Also ah, I come across like an ass when I’m just some guy in my head and in places where I’m relaxed and have the energy to be how I actually am/want to be (close friends, online, etc.). Basically this is so fucking long to say that I get the same shit that you do and it’s garbage, but like everyone else has said I don’t think you’re unfeeling. I get a sense of like camaraderie? Like “same hat” kind of thing, I get what you mean when you say literally anything because I get it? If you were so cold hearted, I think that wouldn’t be a thing because you’d just be nothing, there wouldn’t be anything to relate to? But yeah, I’m shaking your hand. I genuinely don’t know how we are one person split in two, it sounds like I’m just making shit up but I stg I have not lied in your inbox as of yet - 🫐

Also our periods are synced up. I don’t even know you. Genuinely, literally, with my whole soul: what the fuck - 🫐
