Outfit Showcase (Part 1)

Wow I was not expecting everyone to want a full showcase of my sky kid wardrobe. I guess we can start with my current main outfit for the Days of Feast.

I call this my Winter Hermit outfit. A bit cozy and warm with a hint of glitz and glamour. Will be wearing this for the majority of winter in Sky.

Another winter season based outfit I made recently. It actually matches so well with the spin dancer hair and passage mask. I will occasionally switch between this and the winter hermit outfit for the duration of the event.

Some of you are well aware of my outfit that I used in my previous TikTok videos. This one I wore faithfully up until Days of Mischief. Which brings me to the next seasonal outfit.

... I just realized that I forgot to swap out the mask and antlers on this one but I was dead tired by that point. Anyways, this is my forest witch outfit for the Days of Mischief. This one is actually much closer to my wiccan practices because I am a green witch (meaning I work with herbs and plants).

This one I mainly use for my Skykid OC, Howling. Since I've started around Passage, it ties into the story I made for her.

Finally got my queue completely filled and it currently won't run out until December (posting at a rate of 1 post per hour every day). It's a little thing but I'm happy I finally got it settled and hopefully I can keep up on it and not have to do a marathon queueing spree again lol

first ship: oooh boy let me tell you a storyXDD it’s kind of irl RPF BUT (long story ahead!) -

here it is: i was ~15, and i was in a school hiking club, and we went on a 2 weeks mountain hike in two squads - older kids (last year of school) and younglings (like me, second to last year of school), supervised by our geography teacher. It was an amazing experience, we were responsible for everything but trail navigating and pace. 

And in the older squad (those kids were like only a year older than us but the gap felt insurmountable, they were Wise Adults (TM)) there were two leaders, two best friends, one tall, handsome and like aristocratic (but pretty outgoing) and the other one an inch shorter, with longer hair, always laughing, and he had The Guitar (TM) and was not afraid to use it. All the girls were either infatuated with one or the otherXD

So, those two cute guys, always tousling, sharing a tent (with three more boys, ‘cause limited tent amount, tents are f* heavy), laughing, constantly bickering with lots and lots of innuendos, ‘cause you know, teenagers))

And one evening almost at the end of the hike we were sitting around the campfire, and The Laughing One with The Guitar was singing the most heartfelt song about a breakup , which coinsidentally had a name of his friend in it, while looking straight at said friend with laughter sparkling in his eyes,

Meet the Author: Sio-Writes

Since I've seen so many intros going around, and my own pinned post doesn't have much about me, I thought I'd tell you all a little about myself for anyone who's curious!

I go by Sio here, and my pronouns are they/them. I'm 28 and I live on the East Coast of the US (in just...the worst state out of the 50.) and I've only ever been outside the US on a cruise to the Bahamas, but I want to travel as much as possible when I'm able.

I'm definitely queer, but my personal label tends to, uh, vary? Based on how I feel that day mostly, lol

I started writing in, like, third grade, age 7, and that's even longer than I've been doing art! I rediscovered writing a while back, specifically the monster community on tumblr (back when it was so small) and it's been two years and I keep consistently getting ideas, so... Here we are, lol.

I looove horror movies, especially the artsy ones like Susupira or Raw, but I'm really not picky, even the popcorn flicks like Saw and Hostel scratch an itch in my brain. I'm also a massive fan of Junji Ito and atmospheric horror games like Detention.

I love to read most fiction genres, but fantasy and sci-fi (both hard and soft) are my darlings. I'm currently trying to get through Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes before the movie comes out. I used to read a lot of published romance novels (Last year I gobbled up all 22 Ice Planet Barbarians in like a month) but the options on Kindle Unlimited are, uh, Limited (hah.) So I've turned to tumblr and AO3 for my romantic reading needs. I also have to read for work and school, so a lot of non-fiction like Systems Design, Network Management, Super Hard Space Math, that sort of thing.

Speaking of, I'm currently enrolled in my Master's degree for Aerosoace Engineering! It's been an uphill battle (I tried the online thing and my ADHD brain went 💫 no 💫) But I'm hoping to start in-class again come August.

I work as an assistant systems engineer for a small construction firm, where I spend all day reading architecture plans and deciding where the security cameras and tvs shohld go. I really love it but I have Imposter Syndrome bad so I'm constantly worried they're gonna randomly fire me one day.

Lastly, I like to flit in and out of fandoms, so I have a lot that I like but I'm not neck-deep. They're like Avengers, MDZS, Steven Universe, Utena, Solar Opposites, Naruto, anything Ghibli, OFMD, and a ton more.

And, like, feel free to ask me anything? I love to help others as well as talk about my work, upcoming fics, literally anything. I want to be friends with all of you!

and now it begins... the TRUE ddr spree of today's session ! eating that meal was the best decision i could've possibly made, as i proceeded to get 15 PFC #18 on the second qualifier song of the tourney, Teleportation [ESP-15]!! and then immediately following after that, when i couldn't find a specific suggestion and had no idea what else to play, i went straight to Scarlet Police on Ghetto Patrol [CSP-18] and was kinda having a bad run... but at the end, somehow, despite my terrible misses and MA... i GOT IT!!! 18 AAA #1 ON SCARLET POLICE!!!! IT'S OVERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wasn't done with what i came to do, but i already felt like i could leave satisfied and accomplished... but we've still got several more suggestions to get through, so let's get to it!!! a 975k on Awaodori [ESP-14], a VERY impressive 927k upscore on Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny [CSP-18], and then i tried the last of the qualifier songs, Lose Your Sense [ESP-17], and ended up getting... a 995k on it first try of the day!!! okay yeah that was MORE than enough to get a decent score on the qualifier phase, so i just rolled with that and continued with my suggestions. next set was just pure suffering (except for 14 PFC #24 from on the bounce (ESP-14, 35P)!!), and then the set AFTER that had even cooler scores... A GFC AAA ON PANIC HOLIC [ESP-16] AND A 974K SIGHTREADON []DENTITY [ESP-17]!!! let's move past the diablosis score tho hahahaaaa (impossible chart istg) . wrapped it up with one more suggestion on the gold cab (and a PFC on Bad Routine (ESP-9, 19p)), then using my last extra stage on unlocking Beyond the Earth so i could FINALLY move onto Phase 2 of the BEMANI Selection vol.1 Extra Savior pack... at long last...

but before i could go, i had to get through just a few more SDVX song suggestions... mostly just 17s, so it was pretty chill, and while i didn't really get any notable scores out of it... i got a decent amount of volforce!!! hope to get even more next time (wonder if i can hit 17.5 VF next session)...

in terms of how i learnt; i've kinda always been drawing for as long as i can remember? been posting art online since around 2013-ish so i got a big big catalogue of stuff to look back on

but learning in specifics of like, how i learned to shade n draw bodies etc etc. i studied! theres a lot of resources out there that'll break down a lot of the 'basics', i dont have any i can name off the top of my head except for morpho; whole bunch of books about body types and anatomy.

im not really good at providing tips for how to learn (bad memory </3) but studying, drawing things over and over (i do with reference and then without, and try to draw in different angles/perspectives) is very useful!

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: literally do not worry at all if what you draw the first time around looks wonky or "ugly". being negative towards yourself about your art only serves to stunt ur growth!! shakes you (and anyone reading this) by the shoulders. it can be very easy to slip into hating your art and not enjoying anything ur drawing. this is me telling u to try and draw something youve never drawn before. experiment. it may not look perfect or even "good" but it will refresh ur brain!!!!!

MY PROCESS...... oh man i really have been drawing pretty much daily huh? i do draw every day but its been a hot minute since ive been doing finished pieces haha

but basically what i do is; start with a few warm-up doodles! just anything to get me in the groove

then over the course of the day i slowly chip away at whatever pieces im working on (lined stuff will usually take me a few hours, rendered stuff takes a day or a few....)

i cannot really assist in like "so how do you draw?" because i honestly just go Lights Off Its Drawin Time! but i always do a rough sketch of an idea i have, refine the sketch, refine that sketch, and then if its rendered i'll make a palette for myself somewhere, but if its lined i'll start on the lineart and then fiddle around with colours.

i draw for fun, so if i dont like how somethings turning out, i'll stop drawing it. no use frustrating myself over a piece to the point of hating it!!

(this ones just forfun and just for me) i keep a small little doc full of notes about my own pieces! i like analysing stuff, and also enjoy talking about why i draw something in a specific way, so this is just a nice little thing for me to have fun with. also helps me avoid potentially slipping into "hate this. bad" mindset bc im specifically noting things that i Liked (i do obviously have a bit of chatter like "hmm i think i couldve drawn this better, i should keep that in mind" but its only when its helping myself. the jora does not talk bad about its art)

aaand then i do some cool-downs to get any last little doodles outta my head so i can relax in bed

in terms of tips? do stretches, walk around, TAKE BREAKS! draw at your own pace, and also Have Fun With It. experiment with different colours, limited palettes, different styles!

seriously though do make sure you take breaks and stretch im lookin you in the eye okay?

Funnily that art was about mental suffering and now I would say that physical pain is my bigger issue now lolz Dont worry darklings, Im doing quite well :> aaand I hope to be actually back now! yayaya trust me, I feel so much better and Im full of hopes of coming back to life~! I started creating again, I wanna go back to regular posting again too! I feel better and more confident about creating as last few months made me start to doubt I can actually do anything >XD I think I understand better now some things, like that due to my chronic illness I need to fit my lifestyle to my health. Im getting better at finding time and allowing myself relax and have fun, while not feeling pressured to work all the time. Im spending more time with my husband while not obsessing about not doing enough shit during the day. I allowed myself to do very little in past weeks to let my body recover and I slowly comeback and not rush to be working for most of day again haha Im motivated, full of hopes and with bright perspective for life :> I was doing quite a lot of health related research, especially about Fibromyalgia which causes chronic pain and fatigue. I think that a lot of my issues now might be awful flare up of it. This illness isnt curable but lifestyle fitting to having this and enough rest is something which makes it easier to live with it. I see now clearly that Im unable to have 'normal' job, that me not being able to keep everything clean all the time will be happening, that there will be days I will literally do nothing but thats okay. Im a bit scared cause it obviously limits a lot, I know there will be people who will never understand it and wont treat me with respect but I will go forward no matter what!

Attempting to answer my own questions from 10 days ago.

So Mae didn't start the fire and her behavior kinda makes sense after seeing that she was riled up by Koril but I still can't understand why she told Osha she would kill her. Maybe I heard it wrong since of the context and Osha said that line but I just don't get why that's even in there.

Torbin should not have said "we thought we were doing the right thing", the fact that he after 16 years still excuse his own behavior where "I want to go home asap, tired of this shit ass forest, lets go take those girls by force and show them to prove the vergence, I don't care that only one of the girls agreed to go" could somehow be construed to be "the right thing to do" means he's still an idiot. But it still makes sense that he apologized and given the huge role he played in this fiasco I understand that it haunts him, so this question is answered.

Mae and Osha were created.... I still don't know? Maybe it's because I don't know a lot about star wars. This whole "the force made me pregnant" seems to be an anakin situation, but in anakins case it happened spontaneously I guess and in this case it happened deliberately somehow. I don't understand if they mean that the vergence created Osha and Mae... or if they mean the vergence made Osha and Mae into two people instead of one, since that was the whole question they had about it. If I were to speculate based on the limited information I have of biology in the star wars universe I would say that they weren't one person separated into two people, but rather the vergence could only create the same dna? Let's say a third child would be born via vergence on brendok, I would probably say that the child would also have the same force-dna. They look sort of like Aniseya, but not exactly, so they can't be clones of her, but if they look like her but Koril is the one who carried them then she must've been involved somehow OR Aniseya is also a vergence baby 🤷‍♀️ I know I'm trying to make sense of something that probably makes no sense so I'll stop there.

Guys what actually happened on brendok? Mae's behavior through the entire episode is really weird, and not in a "suspicious" kind of way but in a this makes no sense at all kind of way. Torbin apologizes to Mae and what he did on brendok is obviously haunting him until his death. The coven does not look like they died via fire. Also how were Mae and Osha created?? Are they clones(I don't know anything about star wars lore)??

To me Osha always seemed weird and stunted somehow, while Mae acts like a normal person with a real personality (sure could just be me, whatever). Something about Osha is unsettling. Maybe Osha is the one who has a darkness inside of her, and she and Qimir will become the evil power couple of the galaxy, while Mae tries to stop them? Idk. Especially since Oshas newfound Jedi group are now dead, and Sol is probably gonna turn out to be the one who killed her mothers, where is our supporting cast? The whole show can't just be about Qimir, Osha, Sol and Mae. More likely, Mae will find friends and be "on the good side" or whatever and that's where we get our new supporting cast

Anyway give me your theories I'm curious!

Hello, good morning! Happy Friday!! I'm having a bit of ramble while my morning coffee kicks in and I use the little time before the workday starts.

Recently I've been thinking how little my energy feels after work to the point where I rather space out in bed and play some low energy game on the switch then sleep before 11pm otherwise I'm a very cranky lady in the morning.

Drawing has become a race for me. How fast can I throw some lines in between dinner and bed time? I noticed so much of my work has become what I call 'compulsive doodling'. I try to draw so fast just so I can throw something before I start feeling too tired and pass out or cause weekends tend to be "catch up with life" so it's like ok can't spend more than X time once more cause I got so many other things to do ... or people want to hang out or people need me to do bunch of things, arghhh adult life huh xD; I miss the times I could get lost in a painting. Art used to be so relaxing and soul healing and lately I've been feeling it as a daily to-do task - did I sketch something so I don't forget how to wield a pencil? Check!

However... I want to go back to that. I want to go back to drawing more scenes and full backgrounds and take my time with a piece.

Recently with how fast paced social media has become it begins to set a precedent where content of any type must be consumed fast and any big effort project tends to have same or lower engagement that makes your brain go - ok but what's the point of big effort piece that gets less likes than your low effort doodle piece? As much as your reason tries to silence the lil nagging voice, it's still there.

Aaand I will try to overcome it this year! :D;; I miss drawing full scenes. Granted, I probably can't spend 6 full hours on a piece anymore but if I draw little by little I can pull it again I think! Let's see how it will go :D;;

I also miss talking about the art pieces. I'm glad tumblr's format allows me to type a bit when I post a drawing. I hate how limiting other platform can be. I hate the idea of presenting a drawing without a bit of context. I hate looking at artwork without context! Give me the story behind it, is it an OC? Who are they, what are they! I love that stuff!! I remember long ago on Deviant Art where I would post nearly a paragraph of who/what was going on and mention what programs or brushes I used :D It made the artworks feel a bit more than - here is the arts, pls like. I know that's not the case for everyone but it was the case for me. I like when a drawing feel more than random pretty thing you saw on a social platform.

Speaking of... I've always hated adding watermarks on my pieces but given the rise of AI I guess that will become a thing with me too =n=;; I will have to see how to deal with this.

What happened this update; part four - Hell and High Water

Dedicated to my poor anon whose government doesn't know geography

Warning: spoilers under the cut

Apologies for the delay, dear anon, real life was taking up most of my time.

So this episode is dedicated to the new story Hell and High Water. Firstly allow me to show you the MCs:

You see it correctly :) different body type options were introduced! I went with the medium opinions. If you want to see the other options, refer to this links

The default name is "Lori" but I named her Amelia, after Amelia Earhart :D

The story starts with this:

Interesting thing is that MCs surname is Kaplan as well

Now onto the episodes;

Episode 1: Southbound

First we see the opening I showed above

MC wakes up very early to prepare for her next trip. There's an option to wake up Chand (colleague and possible LI) or not

She goes to Bakeshop to pick up some rations

Small talk with Pramila and Todd. MC says they won't be gone longer than 5 days.

MC and Chand go to the docks

Once by their ship, Nina comes and tells them to take care. Nina is the one who taught them how to sail

Phoebe Alvarez, a doctors daughter and the second possible LI, comes to them and asks them for a ride to Quiet Bay

After they set sail, they eat breakfast they got from Bakeshop. MC finds a note from Todd who asked them to find some flour for him, because Anna's birthday is coming up.

They see Dreamspinner, the boat belonging to Sunny, third possible LI, and Chand suggests to race with her. Sunny agrees.

Thanks to correct choices, MC and co win. Thanks to an earlier diamond choice, MC gets a necklace and Sunny now owns MC and Chand dinner.

Rain & talking

Aquila, the supply ship, reports. It's departing Prince Rupert and bound for Ketchikan, which is one stop before Homeport (the place MC and Chand live)

They arrive at Quiet Bay and drop off Phoebe

They continue their journey. More talking, where we find out Chand has a girlfriend named Krissa

An orca appears

Episode 2: Red skies

MC falls into the water, but Chand pulls her out

They're quite concerned about the orca, because apparently orcas now kill people

Clothes change

Radio message: major front developing off coast to the west and moving inland

They arrive at Coffmans Dock, where they meet with Krissa and her family. They eat dinner and spent the night at the Durants (Krissa and her dads surname)

Diamond choice: MC overhears Chand and Krissa breaking up

More talk over breakfast.

They return to the boat. Once more at sea, they talk with Tay (the person who reports all the radio messages from a tower) and then Nina comes in. Nina calls MC Honeybee, and insults Chand

The wind lowers, so they tuck in Ratz Harbor

They go ashore. MC wants to stretch her legs and there's an option to take Chand along

If the player takes him along, they talk, and there's a romance option. They them find a weird knife with the initials DT

They return to the ship. In the evening Sunny joins them and cooks them the dinner she owns them

One word: otter :)

Chand has a diamond scene

In the morning a storm rages

Aquila sents a distress call

Radio goes static

It's noon and Aquila comes in, and then:

End of episode 2

Characters, Krissa and her dads

Final thoughts: I like it! While the boat talk confuses me, and I raise my eyebrows at the orca thing, the story is very likeable! MC herself is very interesting. Meanwhile Chand, who I think I will romance, is nice too. And he has night vision, similar to Riddick (I wonder if anyone in this fandom knows those movies)

The only major thing that I don't like is the boats name.

Aaand while I’m in an updated creative copy of my world for that last post, here are some aerial shots of my base currently with some rambles of reasonable length here and there

(Featuring the build-limit-tall scaffolding I still haven’t taken down from that achievement, because it’s just come in handy too much when I wanted to see how a build is looking from a distance oops)

Most of these are night time because I just like the vibe better lol. Especially now with the mangrove trees everywhere

^^ I was originally going to make a house for a fisherman villager on that little island, but after a while of just not knowing how I even wanted it to look I decided to just make a little gazebo kinda build. There’s a cat under it name Talia after a fox I had on another server last year

^^ Cactus farm! Which I really didn’t need but I had never made an automated farm and just felt I was obligated to make one eventually lol. And the watchtower, which is like the Botanical Garden in that it’s a recreation of a build I made on the aforementioned server. Same structure pretty much but with a very different block palette

^^ Farmhouse, Chicken Coop, and Barn, featuring the glitched llamas. One of whom broke off the lead of a wandering trader, and the other just didn’t despawn with that trader, meaning it still technically has a lead attached to it and therefore the other llama follows it everywhere (this has happened a lot lol)

In this shot ^^, the little hut the stairs lead up to and the pavilion next to it are both entrances to my actual base, which is all underground! The pavilion leads directly into my nether portal room via bubble elevators. I literally only built that because when I was making the nether room I got tired of having to run all the way up through the other rooms just to get back outside, but I think I use that entrance the most now lol

^^ Allaytrium, WIP Botanical Garden, and a lil sugar cane farm I made a couple days ago! This area looks so weird to me but I think it’s mostly because I haven’t added all the moss blocks and foliage and stuff like I have around my other builds yet. Fun fact: the little pillars in the background with lights on top are markers to geodes I’ve found!

Quite a few interesting info revealed this episode! This liveblog almost became a theory section !

- boom! Another huge info! Ace has been playing DGP for 2000+ years? That was another fan theory we've seen around! Is today a field day for wild fan theorists, let's have a party! 😆

What's next then? we'll also get confirmation that Ace is an actual kitsune who took the form of human and have him jump off a mountain with 9 tails... (Ok I'll stop, sorry)

- Keiwa seriously actually finally used Boost! Iwae! Everyone, we've come to the conclusion of the epic story of "lost n found part 7: finally together"!!

- Ah yes, return of the fox! Being nice for last few episodes got too boring, huh Ace-kun? Now you gotta do one trickery at least. I see I see. Poor Keiwa though.

- Kei-chan is angry now! Beware! (Eh New name? What happened to 'keiwa-kun'?)

Did Ace totally manipulate him? Kind of, but not entirely, the after dinner pep talk wasn't full lies.

- it's funny, I feel like I totally get what type of character Ace is, but can't put it to proper words to explain to others. Sigh...

Had too much to say about this episode and skipped many points actually.

And looks like I've only made myself sound like a psycho 😶.

Anyway, looks like Keiwa's sister will be rider within next few episodes.
