Like you're drawing a piece, and you don't like it for some reason, you try to change it, but you still don't like the painting, and you keep trying, but it's just something that's missing and you don't understand what it is and it just becomes frustrating and you start to get angry and-

Well, at least I seem to have such moments quite often (I dunno, maybe I'm just a perfectionist), and as far as I'm concerned different artists have their different ways to cope with this, so I wonder - do you have such moments sometimes and what do you usually do about it?

I'm sorry for the long ask I just can't keep things short and I'm just always curious about such things and the way different artists do stuff 😅

As for your question, oooh boi, yes actually I have these moments A LOT, it’s cause i’m a perfectionist myself jdhdhdh

In fact, these kinda moments is why i sometimes give up on certain artworks or comics I make, and that’s why my wips just always seem to pile up, here are some examples of two artworks and a page of a comic I gave up on cause I just couldn’t for the life of me make them into what I wanted

And I will be lying to you if I said I have a solution for it or that I know how to deal with it

But I deal with it in two ways, I either completely delete the sketch i made and start over again

Or what I usually do is that I actually stop if i find the piece I’m working on emotionally draining, let go of the artwork and work on something else that i find fun, cause “giving up” doesn’t necessarily mean i will never get back to them, I see it as “taking a break” from the artwork till I get inspiration or motivation back to work on it again

Generally I’ve learned that in art, it’s ok to take things slow, I don’t always need to finish the artwork that I started before I start working on something else, in fact, taking things slow is how I made art much more enjoyable to me, cause it means I actually enjoy the process instead of treating it like there’s some sort of deadline above my head

To give you an example of what i mean, this artwork right here? Took me over 2 weeks to finish, not cause i couldn’t finish it quickly (in fact i can easily finish the same artwork in less than an hour) I just taught myself to take my time when making art, take things slow snd enjoy the process bit by bit, i worked on the quick sketch, closed it, then got back to it to work on cleaning it up multiple times, closed it again, then worked on coloring it and so on

And that’s also how i deal with artworks that make me frustrated, i take things slow, if i get frustrated then i simply close the artwork and work on something else till i have the motivation to work on what frustrated me again, that way i took a little break, and sometimes actually while working on something else you might get an idea on how to fix the artwork that frustrated you, but ultimately art is supposed to be fun not frustrating, so it’s ok not to finish artworks, it’s ok to abandon artworks if you don’t like them or if they emotionally drain you

That’s how i deal with it at least, but i say try to find your own path to how to deal with it, cause my way might not work for you, so i say experiment and find out :D

Hiiii! First of all, sorry for only replying to this now, I've been a bit all over the place since coming back from my holiday!! Didn't mean to ignore you, I promise! I actually love this ask so much 😭💞 I miss Chris so much it's making my chest ache (thank god for Sebastian keeping us fed with all of this wonderful content!), but I do hope he's having an amazing time over in Greece! And aaahh you're right, Seb does love Greece (he's arguably never looked better than when he was filming Monday there, plus he celebrated his 40th birthday there if I'm not mistaken), and I love the idea that Chris would be sending Seb updates about Greek things and places he loves! Imagine how thrilled Seb would be to see Chris fall in love with the country too 🥰

182 Days of TPN - Day 69

Chapter 69 (nice): “Introduction”

The upcoming battle is the most shonen-like arc in the entire series and I’ll never understand why the second season thought it was okay to remove it. Of course seeing the kids fight back against sinister demons with weapons is a big highlight, but so is seeing a whole different side of our usually sweet Emma. She’s come to hate demons ever since the night of Conny’s shipment, but just the way she’s drawn throughout these chapters.. man, that’s true anger.

MY BELOVED GOLDY POND RESISTANCE CHILDREN! Aaahh, they’re all so interesting and I love each of their designs. There’s so much more I wanna see and learn about them.. I would’ve given anything to see them animated.

I remember very clearly the time I showed this panel of Oliver to the friend who recommended TPN to me during my first read-through of the manga and I had said something along the lines of how pretty this boy was and that I already liked him.. their response was simply “I knew it.” Pfftt, apparently my tastes were very predictable.

At least their farm IDs are in a more convenient place to stay hidden. I still don’t think I could decipher the logic behind Grand Valley’s coding system even if I tried.

I like how they all try to look intimidating in this panel yet only Oliver and Zack really manage to pull it off. The others look kinda awkward.

sorry if this seems intrusive but i just want to say, regarding the whole sukuna vs yuji thing, i think people need to be reminded of the fact that sukuna is using yuuji as a vessel, here. that body? abs and strong, angular jawline??? that's all yuuji. sukuna just... what? gave him tattoos?? and his hair got slicked back slightly. that's literally it.

istfg, in my last plathrough post, when I said "huh, I wonder if a netrunner could specifially target the Blackwall to open it up only for one specific AI" etc etc.....

I swear I didn't know *this* was lined up xD Fucking hell Songbird, what are you doing?? I love playing this with a high INT character (maxed Vince out to 20 right at the start of the expansion, I'm loving all the netrunning dialogues :D) aaaaahhhhh... So, fun times... if we don't save Songbird, we get what the Pacifica Voodoo Boys have tried to work towards, in one way or another. HHHHHH.

Also... öakjshdfasf I love how during every single conversation that happens during the main questline so far with a main NPC, every time without fail... Reed has been missing out on mentioning an important detail. Fuck XD I love him, but my (and V's) little trust in him is slowly beginning to fade. Like, I love him as a character, he seems really pragmatic and ruthless and everything down that alley to me atm, a real badass, weathered special agent that has seen some shit. But yeah... super badass special agent that will do *everything* that's necessary, including taking out people that could be a liability later. Got a feeling V is currently on that list too and just as much a means to an end to him as the other way around. So, fitting, one more thing they have in common XD

Also, I love Alex like hhhhhhhhh her design is so good, I hope there's gonna be much more of her! I loved Slider sm too, like... Man. Please no spoilers, he died after getting in touch with Songbird, and I wonder if there's a way to save him, but I don't have a good track record with saving anyone in this dlc so far XD Got Paco killed on the first try and was so upset about it I reloaded cause, yeah... made a bad choice. Aaron is dead, too, Jacob and Tucker (was it Tucker aaahh... I'm not sure, the two randos hanging out with Myers) are most likely dead by Reed's or someone else's hand... Not looking too good really xD

And again I gotta swoon about the beauty of Dogtown's level design like... I cannot wrap my head around what the Stacks remind me of, so many vibes all coming together, I love it so so much. So much of this district's size comes through the height of the buildings and terrain and all the ways to climb up and down, so many stairs and secret rooftop gyms, it's amazing. Vince also danced at some random backalley partys, that was fun xD (I literally walked up and was like "aw, I wanna dance, too..." and then the *dance* prompt came up xD so I had to)

So, next stop... Kurt Hansen's big party I guess o.o After finishing some more work for Mr. Hands! His gigs are so cool too, like, I only played two so far (the clinic in the church and the other voodoo boy hideout) and man, there's such good stories to them beneath the surface! Can't wait to see the rest o.o

And, finally:

I found the pants the V in the Phantom Liberty Tour was wearing :DDD Or rather, it's a unitard xDD But still, I squealed XD Got a fitting jacket, but don't really have any fitting shoes, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for that xD I'll play all night tomorrow if nothing comes up, let's see how far I'll get o.o

We are too!” You said with a large smile.

You guys walked to the house where the party was, all four of you. You and Jake making small comments on how Sunghoob and Kim looked cute together, giggling quietly.
