It was still so surreal to have his sister by his side again. It still made Aventurine sometimes stop and stare as if he was waiting, for the world around him to shatter, like it had many times in the past. It seemed too good to be true and sometimes, like now, there was this urge to simply touch the nearby hand, to confirm that this was in fact real. Perhaps, he was being too naïve, perhaps he was believing in a lie, but for once, Aventurine desired to give in, even if just a little, until luck only embraced him and took ⸺ once again ⸺ all the warmth, that had dared to grace him. Life had always been unfair, when it came to that and it was why, he still was hesitant to give in and believe, without question. After all, this could all be one, big cruel joke and yet... he hoped it wasn't because he knew, that something would shatter, beyond repair, if it was. A small, slightly strained chuckle left at the questions.

with that, Aventurine of course meant with touch, something that he made clear as he took a gentle hold of the nearby hands, only to guide them to his cheeks, where fingertips ended up gracing the fair skin, so his sister could "see" the changes. To be honest, he was a little nervous ⸺ afraid, that his sister would be disappointed by, what he had turned into, but of course, that was kept under wraps. If there was something he had become really good at, then it was pretending.

Soulmate prompt if you want: Harry Potter/Izuku in any combination you want.

Brain saw this and screamed “Scar Sharing” so buckle up we’re about to get angsty my dudes.

Izuku was a little over a year old when the first mark showed up. A faint silver line over their right eye. A lightning bolt that no one ever had any explanation for how their soulmate would have gotten a scar in that way. By the time they are five years old and get the worst new of their life, their body is a roadmap of little silver marks. The silver covering one of their palms like a burn mark, the little circles on their leg that looks like a dog bite, the dozens of tiny silver lines over their fingers that they didn’t understand until they saw their mom cut her finger cooking one day.

From there there are red scars to match the silver marks. Starburst over their arms and shoulders, reflected on skin already so covered.

Then at eleven years old, a new scar joins the one in their face, over their temple. At twelve a massive circle appears on either side of their right arm with spiderwebs of silver stretching outward from them. Following their veins. At thirteen their knees get new marks along with a rather deep looking bite on the back of their hand from what looks like a rat based on tooth patterns.

Then at fourteen and fifteen, the worst scars appear.

One stretching from elbow to wrist, an inch thick line that appears not long after the slime villain and made their heart stop cold in their chest. (They sob later that day when silver marks appear over their knuckles, split open from a punch)

The other.

Words.

“I must not tell lies” first light then growing darker and darker as if they’re being carved time and time again.

Present Mic finds them in a bathroom at UA, ceasing their hand against their chest and sobbing as those words get darker and darker. They pull Izuku into a hug, the silver mark under their eye that matches the red mark on Mr. Aizawa twisting as they frown.

“We’ll find them, Midoriya. I promise.”

But then a war starts not long later, and Izuku knows they have gifted enough silver marks in return that they might just be even now.

They’re eighteen when they find him, both do them covered in so much silver it’s harder to find a place not marked by scar or silver, two pairs of haunted green eyes finding each other across a classroom, two lighting bolts over their foreheads.

Izuku trips over Kacchan’s desk trying to get to him, and the boy, their soulmate, is there with an ear splitting crack and an explosion of one of the lightbulbs. He’s not strong enough to keep Izuku on their feet, all skin and bone and several inches shorter than them, but they hit the ground together with tears in their eyes and silver painted fingers tracing over the lines they both know they will find.

Neither of them are unfamiliar with pain. Neither of them will ever forget the horror of war, of being forced to grow up to young to finish a fight started long before them, of being the one to stand when no other could.

Harry laughs at the same time Izuku sobs. Neither of them let go of the other for a very very long time.

Hello! Do you all remember the post I shared about Lucrecia’s scene here in the OG?

If not then let me share a very sad connection I made. In this Lucrecia moment she says about her baby (Sephiroth):

“watashi no kawaī kodomo”

This means along the lines of “My cute baby…” or “my sweet little child.” The use of “kawaī” by Lucrecia is the key point because it shows her affection. “Kawaī” is used for cute little things like a kitten or darling baby.

Now here is what the dream version of Lucrecia in The First Soldier calls Sephiroth:

可愛いセフィロス。こっちへいらっしゃい。

“Kawaī Sephiroth. Come here.”

She fawns over her son with a phrase like “Cute, little Sephiroth” and then hugs him. You can interpret it as “sweet” or “darling” as well and that’s how they came up with “my sweet little boy.” It works just fine because “kawaī” is for precious little things.

The point here is that they have referenced this OG piece of dialogue from Lucrecia about her son. It looks like they make a distinction for Lucrecia to always see her son as this innocent and cute child even in a dream. Let nobody doubt that Lucrecia loved her baby even after everything 😢
