Maybelle will be uploading the full video of Act 11 & 12 ((at the beginning of 2024)), and has already uploaded the other Acts, newest event stories, and Backstage Stories—all translated— onto YouTube, so please check it out and support them if your able to!

We have a lot of the chapters done, and I will uploading Act 12: Episode 1 on October 31!

Unfortunately, however, there won’t be an upload schedule of the translations on this blog for the time being.

Tsumugi: Being a Director’s assistant was that for you. Even though each of their goals is different, but it makes you want to cheer them on, doesn’t it?

Omi: Even if it seems like an unnecessary detour, you might end up finding something you need.

Sakuya: Oh, also. Should we use the app Towa-kun uses to chat?

Sakuya: I know we already have LIME, but this one shows when you’re online, and it seems to keep logs of when you leave and enter the chat room, so it’ll feel like we’re in the same place.

Hi apologies in advance for this ask being SO long, I just really love a3 and seeing new people get into a3 :')

I happened upon your posts and since you say you've read Act 5 now I'm assuming you managed to find it, but just in case: nobody uses the fandom wiki for a3, everything's on a site called "yaycupcake"! (well, not EVERYTHING everything, you'll have to take to looking on tumblr at Some point and Act 12 translation is a work in progress, but effectively everything)

Other than that, there are video archives on youtube from when the English server was active if you'd want to use those for story, you should be able to find them pretty easy but I can link if needed.

Second thing, it looks like you went right into Act 5 from the Anime? Which is understandable, but you should read the Play Events in between! They're not officially marked as Main Story, but they absolutely are, and you will be lost later on without having read them, both in terms of character development AND important plot stuff. Each Troupe got two Plays between Act 4 and Act 5 so that's 8 Events. Seasonal Events aren't As important so you can skip most of those, but iirc the Christmas and New Year events tie into the main story too.

Lastly - and this is entirely me being picky, so no pressure - if you only watched the Anime, I highly recommend going to read these five Chapters from the first Main Story;

Act 4 Chapters 19-21 (these ones especially)

OMG thank you anon! Yes i did get to yaycupcake eventually thanks to my friend Chii @vampuppyy and have it bookmarked now but when I was originally looking for story translations it kept giving me 404 messages so you know. Wasnt really available to use. I do plan on going back for at least some of the events too I have the clockwork one open on my laptop already lmao and these stories are not at all as dense as Enstars stories can be and godbless they aren't suffering from the abyssmal load times of the wayback machine. I did notice Sakuya mentioned their previous plays when giving Chikage the pep talk so I figured it wouldn't hurt to read at least some previous events before moving onto Act 6 anyway.

But thank you so much & if you have anything else my inbox is always open and I will probably continue live blogging as I go. I'm stuck in merge game hell for Engstars right now so I needed something else to do to help stave off burnout there

Izumi: (Rehearsals for the second part are going smoothly because of the success from the first half. The advantage of having a second part is that we can make use of both strong and weak points from the first half.)

Izumi: (The members that appeared in the first part of the play already feel comfortable with their roles because of their prior appearance, and since the Spring Troupe members finally get to make their appearance in the second part, they have a high level of enthusiasm.)

Izumi: (Everyone’s collective energies is creating a good atmosphere in the practice room.)

Izumi: Let’s take a short break.

Chikage: Since the atmosphere of the play has already been set from the beginning, everything has a fresh and different feel from the usual.

Itaru: I’m getting excited now that the costumes are complete.

Sakuya: The scenery is unfamiliar to me... but it’s not a scary dream though.

Citron: If Sakuya cries from his dreams again, all of the members of the Spring Troupe are required to gather in room 101.

Chikage: I’ll be there anytime if it’s for our leader.

Hi, I saw your post/tags on a3 and I wanted to let you know there's a site called yaycupcake that has acts 5 to I think 11 translated, as well as a lot of side events/stories. There are also fans on tumblr [working on] translating act 12 (like @/otomehoneyybearr) and the new act 13 and other side events as well. but yeah if you google "yaycupcake a3!" the site should come up and they should be there, that's where I read them.

Yep yep I've been using that already! My queue is buffered by about a month so I already got this on main djdhdjsjjsj yaycupcake doesnt alwaysssss work for me but it does have archives on the wayback machine so it works well enough that way. I've read both spring troupe plays between act 1 and act 2 + the first winter troupe play and i think I've read the first summer troupe play or had it down as my next one so I can read part 6 of the main story

You’re not alone anymore, Misumi-san.  Misumi: So that was it… I started to remember him less than before.  Misumi: …Is Gramps angry with me? Tenma: Not at all. Misumi: (So what I was feeling is called loneliness.) Misumi: (I couldn’t understand what was the feeling of being alone.) Misumi: (I felt it when I couldn’t talk to Madoka and when I couldn’t see Gramps anymore. But I kept it inside me and tried to pretend it didn’t exist.) Misumi: (And I searched for triangles to fill the emptiness inside me.)  Misumi: (But when I entered the troupe, met the summer troupe members, acted and created memories with them, I noticed how now it was full of precious treasures.)

Hakkaku: “Acting is fun, you know. You should try it out someday.” Hakkaku: “If you can find three treasures in your life, I’m sure you will be happy.”

Misumi: (Triangles, acting, and my friends— That’s the place where I found my happiness triangle.) Misumi: And also— Madoka: Huh? Misumi: (The place that showed me it’s alright to have many treasures.) Misumi: (I don’t feel lonely because I’m not alone anymore. And I’m not alone because Mankai Company exists.) Madoka: …Will you take that set square as your lucky charm for a while? Misumi: No need, I’m alright now. I have lots of precious triangles inside of my heart.  Madoka: I understand.  Crow: Caw, caw! Misumi: Ah, it’s the crow from earlier! It says it found a triangle!  Madoka: Who? The crow?  - Misumi disappears - Madoka: …Brother hasn’t changed at all. I see he still has those mysterious abilities.

Crow: Caw, caw! Misumi: Wow, it is a triangle!  Misumi: Thanks for this pretty triangle~!  Postman: Mail for Ikaruga-san. Misumi: Here~ Postman: It’s addressed to Misumi Ikaruga-san.  Misumi: Me? Misumi: Ah, it’s from Sakuya!

Sakuya: “Misumi, how are you? Sakuya: “Lately I’ve been playing with paper planes along with a child I met in the park. But they didn’t fly at all… it’s pretty hard.” Sakuya: “I thought about joining you and the summer troupe next time you make them. I want to learn how to make them well.”  Sakuya: “I hope you can teach me when the time comes.”

Madoka: A postcard? Misumi: Mhm, Sakuya sent it.  Madoka: He seems to be well. I’m glad.  Misumi: How good are the paper planes you make now, Madoka? Madoka: I’m not sure… I haven’t compared them, so I can’t tell.  Misumi: Then, let’s make paper planes! The one who flies more wins!  Madoka: Okay. I’ll bring paper.  Misumi: …We will make a paper plane contest with “everyone”. I promise, Sakuya. Misumi: And— Misumi: (I’ll keep making the best performances with my best friends. A3! Act 12 spoilers - Sakuya’s journey + past (chapters 11-41)

Wanted to share the parts about Sakuya travelling to his hometown, so major spoilers for chapters 11 to 41 (though I will mostly skip the other members’ individual chapters, which is why this spans so many chapters lol). Will also be including some CGs / screenshots. THE HARUGUMI FEELS!!! 

Update: If you’ve read this before this update, I added another paragraph and screenshot at the bottom. 

So, Izumi has all members leave the dorm because they get forced to shut down activities through the efforts of Amadate Keiju (Hyakka’s founder, a member of the Fleur awards board of directors as well as the person who inspired Sakuya to get into acting). The Spring troupe members extend invitations to Sakuya to stay with each of them (so sweet!! ;___;), but he declines because Kasumi has offered a place to him. Sakuya plans on sleeping over for one night before going on a journey to his roots. 

Kasumi tells Sakuya he can stay with them forever (lol), but Sakuya has made up his mind, so Kasumi gives him stuff that will help him on his travels. Sakuya mentions that the other members were worried he might get homesick because this will be the first time for him since entering the troupe to be apart from the others for so long. But he wonders if there isn’t anything he could do to assure the others that he’s doing well. Kasumi suggests he send postcards to them, so Sakuya makes a call to the director (who’s staying alone in the dorms) and asks for everyone’s addresses.

Sakuya visits his aunt / relatives who paid for his school fees to thank them. Sakuya came to Tokyo after getting into Hanagaku, where he came to stay with the Yoshinagas. He wanted to do his best to be “acknowledged as a member of the family”, but his aunt made it clear that they only thought of him as a lodger. Sakuya felt lonely then, but he still thought that he had to express his thanks. Sakuya has been sending them money each month to pay them back for the expenses for the private school, but his aunt is doubtful that he earned it himself and calls it an inconvenience. She’s disappointed that Sakuya didn’t choose to attend a university after they spent so much money on his high school education. 

We find out that Izumi offered to back him up if he wanted to go to university (even if just a little). Izumi feels glad to have attended university, where she learned a lot and met all kinds of people. But for Sakuya, that place is Mankai Company, so he was fine with not going to university. He told Izumi that he needed to save up money to pay back the Yoshinagas, which would also enable him to pursue acting more freely (it’s not just about being in their debt financially - Sakuya thinks that them making it possible for him to attend Hanagaku also made it possible for him to come to Tokyo, spend time with Masumi and Banri at school and visit Veludo Way, which is how he ended up joining Mankai. That’s what he’s thankful for). 

Sakuya has chosen his way of life. His aunt tells him that he’s been paying them too much and returns the rest. The Yoshinagas only did the bare minimum, so there’s no need for him to feel so grateful. Sakuya hands her a flyer to their next performance and asks if he could send them tickets. His aunt has no interest in acting, but whether he wants to send them tickets is up to him. 

Sakuya travels to Hokkaido, where he used to live as a kid (he dreams of it twice before chapter 11) and sends each of the Mankai Company members picture postcards of the place where he used to take walks with his parents. While there, he also visits his old school, the one where the fire broke out and the actions of the theater members (the pirate/Amadate Keiju) inspired him to become an actor. In an earlier chapter, we found out that this was Amadate-san’s last tour as an actor. Sakuya meets Amadate Kabuto there (Hyakka’s top actor and Amadate-san’s adoptive son), who’s been trying to help Mankai Company take down his father.*

Sakuya finds out that Kabuto came to watch a recording of that pirate performance and is invited along. Sakuya thinks Kabuto came to watch the recording for sentimental reasons, but Kabuto explains that he wanted to confirm whether his father was responsible for the fire that broke out then (since he was also responsible for the one at the Mankai Theater). It caused Hyakka to become famous and be nominated for the Fleur Awards. Sakuya is shocked, but now, Kabuto is certain that the fire was an accident.

Sakuya heads to his old address where the old apartment building he used to live in still stands. Sakuya’s family used to live in apartment 101, but because 102 is the only apartment with a nameplate and he came all this way, Sakuya rings the doorbell there. It’s the landlord, who’s already lived there 15 years ago and remembers the Sakumas. He invites Sakuya in and tells him of Sakuya’s parents, how much they loved him and of the time when they explained the meaning behind Sakuya’s name.

Together with his last name, it becomes “sakura saku” - cherry blossoms bloom. Basically, Hokkaido is famous for having their cherry blossoms bloom last in Japan. When the long winters are over, they are a symbol of hope that spring has come through all over Japan. And like the cherry blossom, a special flower that everyone in this town is looking forward to blooming, they wanted Sakuya, even if he would be a late bloomer, to be able to bloom his dream in full bloom at the end. That was their dream.

Sakuya is overcome with emotion and while visiting the cape where he used to take walks with his parents, calls the director because he needs to talk to someone. He tells her that the landlord is letting him stay in the old apartment he used to live in and that the landlord also told him a lot about his parents. He tells her of finding out about his name and of finally, actually getting confirmation that he really used to live here, together with his parents. He tells her that he’s grateful to his parents for his name and that he is able to be an actor and meet people that he loves because of the name his parents gave him. He tells her that he didn’t think there would be anyone (left) who’d remember him or his parents and that he was lonely and upset that his parents left him behind. But all that is left is the gratitude he feels toward his parents. For him and his life, spring has come. Izumi, too, is thankful for having met Sakuya. She asks him to thank his parents for letting them (Mankai) meet Sakuya. 

At the same time, the other troupe members receive the postcards Sakuya sent them from his hometown. Chikage, realising Sakuya is homesick, calls for a family meeting (Citron was about to put in a call too, and Itaru was already checking his free days, but Chikage beat them to it lol). Together, the other 5 Harugumi members decide to fly to Hokkaido to pick up Sakuya. While in their rental car, they realise that they had no idea that Sakuya was from Hokkaido and that he doesn’t talk much about the time when he went from relative to relative. But he’ll always listen happily to stories about other people’s families - which actually makes it harder to talk about (for Itaru). 

They arrive at Sakuya’s old apartment but are met with the landlord instead. He tells them that Sakuya’s out for a walk and praises him for being a good kid. He’s glad that Sakuya has good friends. They tell him that they are Sakuya’s family.

They head to the cape, but don’t see him anywhere. An employee at a nearby store tells them that they just missed him. They enjoy the beautiful view and talk about how Sakuya used to walk here with his parents. The landlord has told them that Sakuya cried when it was decided that he would have to leave this place after his parents’ deaths. Tsuzuru can’t remember ever having seen Sakuya’s crying face; even when he was crying, all that remains in Chikage’s memories is Sakuya’s accompanying smile. But should Sakuya want to cry, Citron wants him to do it to his heart’s content. They call out to Sakuya’s parents:

Citron: Sakuya’s dad! Mom! Thank you for giving birth to Sakuya!  Tsuzuru: Your son is growing up splendidly! Itaru: Don’t worry about what comes next! (basically telling his parents that they will take care of him)  Masumi: He has a lot of family now. Chikage: Please come and see him anytime. 

They finally meet up with Sakuya at his apartment building. Their visit comes as a surprise to Sakuya, who promptly proceeds to break out in tears when Masumi welcomes him home. Sakuya’s place to come home to is the place where the 5 of them are, says Citron. Sakuya cries happily when Chikage tells him that they came to pick him up. 

The Spring troupe members stay the night in the cramped apartment and while everyone’s sleeping, Sakuya talks to his parents (in his head), telling them that the people currently sleeping there are his precious family and that thanks to them, he was able to find the place where he belongs and that he no longer feels lonely. He is glad that he was able to introduce them to his parents.

*Spoilers for act 12 plot: Before everyone left the dorms, Kabuto made contact with Syu and Reni and insisted on handing incriminating information on his father to Izumi personally. Izumi invited him to their dress rehearsal (so Kabuto wouldn’t get suspected), but Amadate-san still found out about it and had Mankai Theater burned down, thus making it impossible for Kabuto to hand over the data. Consequently, Kabuto left Tokyo to go into hiding and headed to Hokkaido.  After he and Sakuya have watched the video, Kabuto hands over a USB with the incriminating information he has gathered and tells Sakuya to give it to Izumi and to not let anyone know that they met. After meeting up with the other Spring troupe members, Sakuya tells them about meeting Kabuto here and hands over the USB for Chikage to go through.

Act 12 | Chapter 19 - A Journey for Myself・1

I’m being fueled by my Sakuya feels so I decided I’d TL these chapters too. So, here’s the first one done! Also, if you can, you should listen to the voices for this! They really do help you feel to tone of it more.

Sakuya: ...Wah, this is nostalgic.

Sakuya: ...Haah.

*Doorbell ringing*

Sakuya: (It’s been a while, so I’m a bit nervous. She should be here this time…)

Yoshinaga: “Yes?”

Sakuya: U-Um, It’s Sakuya.

Yoshinaga: “...What can I do for you? I sent over all your personal belongings from this house already.”

Sakuya: Not that… When you can, there’s some I really need to talk to you about in person…

Yoshinaga: “Wait just a moment.”

*Door opening*

Yoshinaga: What do you want to talk about?

Sakuya: Thank you for taking me in and letting me attend Hana High.

Yoshinaga: It’s nothing, just an arrangement between relatives.

Sakuya: Still, I was allowed to go to Hana High…

Sakuya: (I know it was just an arrangement between relatives, and that they only decided to take care of me out of necessity.)

Sakuya: (But, I can’t express how grateful I am to have gone to Hana High, where the tuition wasn’t cheap.)

Sakuya: (When I was in middle school, I was really happy when I found out I could live in Tokyo and so close to Veludo Way during high school…)

Sakuya: (I was told that if I wanted to be taken in, I would have to get into a good school, so I suddenly had to study hard for the entrance exams, which was difficult.)

Sakuya: (I remember hoping that at my next home, I would be loved and treated like I was real family.)

Sakuya: (That’s why I worked so hard to get into Hana High, and why I was so happy when it was decided I could go to Tokyo.)

*Flashback*

Sakuya: I’m Sakuya Sakuma! Thank you so much again! I’m glad to have come to this house!

Sakuya: I’ll do my best to be recognized as part of the family!

Yoshinaga Family Kid: ...I’m off.

Yoshinaga: Take care.

Sakuya: U-Um…

Yoshinaga: You have school today, don’t you? You have to leave now or you’ll be late. I’m responsible for you now, so don’t miss school.

Yoshinaga: We’ll help you with school and living expenses, but we think of you as more of a house guest than a family member.

Yoshinaga: It’s the minimum we can afford, so if you want to get anything, you’ll have to get a part-time job and pay for it yourself.

Sakuya: ...I understand.

Sakuya: (There was no place for me in that house that I came home to every day.)

Sakuya: (It’s true that I was lonely, but I still want to thank them for what they did.)

Yoshinaga: ...Sigh. So bothersome.

Sakuya: Huh?

Yoshinaga: That money that you send every month. Is it really money you’ve earned yourself?

Sakuya: Y-Yes!

Yoshinaga: Even though I sent you to a good high school, you didn’t go to college?

Sakuya: Sorry…

*Flashback*

Director: Are you really sure?

Director: If you want to go to college, I’ll do my best to support you, and there’s all kinds of scholarships available, you know.

Director: Even if you just want to go to college for a little while, Sakuya-kun…

Sakuya: What kind of place did you attend college, Director?

Director: Um, well…

Director: For me, the good thing about college was being able to meet lots of different people and take various classes. I was able to learn about more things too.

Director: I was able to broaden the scope of my future and outlook on life by talking to lots of different people.

Director: I was inspired by the people I met in college to keep doing theater after graduation.

Sakuya: For me, the place where I met people who inspired me was Mankai.

Sakuya: I feel that this place is the only place for me now and in the future, I know the future I want to pursue, so I don’t need to go to college.

Director: I understand.

Sakuya: Besides, I have reasons for wanting to make money now, so it’d be best if I can just do theater freely.

Director: A reason for wanting to make money?

Sakuya: I’m really grateful to the Yoshinaga family for paying my school tuition…

Sakuya: Because I went to Hana High, I was able to enjoy my high school life with Masumi-kun and Banri-kun.

Sakuya: Most importantly, I was able to come to Veludo Way and join Mankai.

Sakuya: As thanks for the opportunity to change my life like that, I want to earn money myself and repay my tuition fees as soon as possible.

*Flashback end*

Sakuya: I don’t think it’s enough yet, but I’ll continue to send it.

Yoshinaga: It’s already enough. ...Wait a moment.

Yoshinaga: This is the amount that you paid over. I couldn’t accept it, so I thought I’d return it someday.

Sakuya: Eh, but I thought it wasn’t enough…

Yoshinaga: We didn’t pay the full amount because we also had school financial aid.

Sakuya: Th-Then, has everything already been paid for…?

Yoshinaga: That’s what I told you. It’s already a hassle to return it, so don’t send it anymore.

Sakuya: --Again, thank you so much for those three years of high school!!

Yoshinaga: We only fulfilled our minimum obligations. We don’t need to be thanked that much.

Yoshinaga: ...Though, why didn’t you just take the money you earned and go to college?

Sakuya: I’ve already decided how I want to live my life.

Yoshinaga: I see. Well then, I wish you the best.

Sakuya: Ah, hold on…

Yoshinaga: ?

Sakuya: This is a flyer for my next play.

Sakuya: Right now, my theater troupe is in a difficult situation, and I don’t know when we’ll be able to perform, but… I’m the lead role.

Sakuya: Can I send you a ticket?

Yoshinaga: ...I’m not interested in plays. But, if you want to send it, go ahead.

Sakuya: Yes!

Sakuya: ...And, there’s one last thing I want you to tell me.

So uh, imma just ramble here ig. I recently tried out JP A3 and well, it's still the same boys but it's not the same. Idk if it's bc i have to look up translations on yaycupcake, I just, I'm just really sad they plugged the EN server. Really glad I can experience Act 3 tho. Anyways uh yea, have a good day

hmm yeah I agree it's definitely not the same with the language barrier, but I'm glad u managed to have fun with act 3 anyway. act 3 (as in acts 9-12) are seriously some of my favourite arcs and it's a real shame that a3en shut down before we could get any of them there.

I know how frustrating it is when u get new content but aren't able to fully enjoy any of it until translations come out, but hang in there!! do it for the pretty cards of the boys :))
