pohatus very important observations on who is available for body heat sharing via snuggling, cuddling et al

Lewa: yes, serial snuggler

Gali: yes, appreaciates it

Onua: yes, great hugs

Tahu: yes but you have to goad him into it, es. "will you man up and cuddle w me". the warmth is worth the annoyance

Kopaka: the flesh would be willing but the soul is so complicated about it. lay down back to back with him and pretend to sleep to make him slowly turn around and snuggle. WILL wake up early to destroy the evidence. the chill is worth the annoyance

Turaga Metru: only yield to 2-second-long cuddles if exhausted. if you pile all six on one another they will automatically snuggle together though

Toa Hagah: only with each other and still very professionally

Turaga Dume: no (the warmth is NOT worth it)

Takanuva: yes, serial snuggler no. 2

Jaller: yes but you have to sort of casually brute force him into it. will fall asleep five seconds into snuggle

Hahli: yes but a bit shy

Hewkii: yes, loves a hearty cuddle

Kongu: no (very formal)

Nuparu: no (very awkward)

Matoro: the soul appreciates the thought but the flesh needs space. if you tell him youre available for snuggles he will keep it in mind and come to you when hes in need. very pleasant chill

Hafu: yes, especially if youre warm

Tamaru: yes, curls up nicely on your chest

Taipu: yes, splays himself like a corpse

Macku: yes but prefers Hewkii. fair

Kapura: yes. hes a perfectly still hot water bottle. delightful.

Kopeke: no (leave him be)

Krahka: yes, surprisingly

Pewku: yes and its good for your mental health

Jaller's crab: no (rocket launcher)

#bionicle #why pohatu specifically is taking these notes? well its bc hes my fav and snuggle good #but also stone retains temperature pretty well and i can see him seeking physical affection to also adapt better to the environment #so for example too hot? hug tahu for a while. now temperature feels just right. too cold? hug kopaka for a while. etc etc #i do have a fic concept where the lads need a big place to sleep but theres only 5 beds and tahu n pohatu go WERE SHARING #and they get 32 blankets and coop up together and essentially sleep in some kinda fabric oven bc comforble :)#probably will not write it but now at least you can have it

A while back you made a post talking about yakumo and his sensitivity to temperature and I haven't stopped thinking about it. imagine when winter comes around and yakumo becomes progressively sluggish, usually staying in the kitchen and not leaving for hours, always making something near the stove to feel a little warmth from the flames or from a little taste of the things he's making (soup probably), or him picking up the habit of bundling himself up and staying in the library to read and nap. maybe when it starts getting even colder he barely leaves his room because its too uncomfortably cold for him, and if he does he's probably looking for eiden to help him warm up, but if eidens not around he gets antsy and looks for somebody else in the mansion, but he's too shy to ask and looks at whoever with his wet eyes so they know he's cold and wants a cuddle

*inhales deeply* ah yes. you understand. you envision it all so clearly. rightly so. gEt in the wAy, everybody, snake burrito walking the halls very very slowly!!!!!!! (i was about to say get OUT of the way but that would probably make yakumo colder so why not do him a favour and collide with him on your way to another room)

remembering the time i watched the rtvs crew play ai dungeon live and they went with a star trek story and it generated a plot where Q teleported the entire crew of the enterprise into an infinite McDonald's and forced them to make "cheeseburrips", "hamburns" and "big mcchicken McSloppy jerkey" on an endless conveyer belt as part of a great competition where the winner would die and also geese howard was there and it made me laugh so hard it caused the one and only time one of my chronic vestibular/vertigo migraines has triggered while i was awake, destroying my balance and leaving me bedridden and unable to walk for 15 days. still makes me lose my shit every time i rewatch that clip.

#Today has been so long 😭😭😭 I've been out the whole day studying and when I came back I spent more than one hour to cook my probably gone–#bad chicken (and rice and spinach) and then I couldn't even eat it because it was my turn to clean the kitchen at the dorm (which is the–#third following day I'm doing) (worth mentioning I'm running on 5 hours of sleep)#And I was goofing around with my friends but while doing so I. made fun of the landlord. And then one friend told me “hey girl he's right–#outside” and like 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I hope I die painfully. I need to be back next year and he already makes my life hard enough and hhhhhhhhhhh #I wasn't even like. Serious. It was just to joke around with my friends I don't have anything against him (except for the things I do)#hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh #And now I feel so embarrassed I have no appetite at all + the chicken (which I had to bring home through one hour walk in summer which–#probably wasn't good for it. officially moved and, while my hands are incredibly sore and i pulled a back muscle so getting around or even sitting long-term is hell, i've noticed i'm not coughing tons anymore...

not sure what that's about, kinda worried about everyone back in the old place...

#maybe it's just temperature though. and it could be!!#since my basement bedroom was getting into the uh. 40-50 degree range in the middle of summer. and that's no longer an issue.#stirring up trouble #granted the new place has its share of issues but a lot of them can be--or are getting--fixed #it is over 1k more per month though and i'm sweating that pretty hard....though i feel like i might be better able to get work now?#since i'm not constantly sick and lethargic nor are there untimely interruptions from the kiddo...plus people are hiring for holidays soon #idk i'm just definitely more optimistic now somehow. maybe that'll change once we get our first full-month electric bill 💀#well regardless i'm gonna be working hard on fixing stuff and unpacking and sorting for the next couple weeks while job-hunting #wish me luck!!

most fucked up thing at my new job is there's only zero calorie sweeteners at the coffee station in the break room. three different kinds of zero calorie sweetener but no regular sugar because the assumption is that literally everyone is on a diet?

#is this because its a job dominated by women in particular??? idk #that's so weird #like sorry i can taste the difference and i prefer naturally occurring sugar from nature how is that not even an option #drinking nasty bitter af coffee bc i am So Sleepy but i refuse to use artificial sweeteners #they Do taste different and they're not even good for you im not doing that lol #also they got mad at me for telling one of the parents that we took one of the kids temperature and it was 99 and he threw up a little #when his dad came to get him yesterday and all of the other teachers were nowhere to be found #they were like tou shouldnhave had colleen do that #ma'am colleen went home before that and so did you #i should have left already too but waited bc the ratio on the playground was bad #anyway i did NOT say he had a fever i said it was 99 and to talk to the teacher inside #but the dad didnt yalk to her clearly then went home and scared the mom that he had a fever and threw up so she texted my boss freaking out #i literally just said he threw up a little and we took his temperature and it was 99 and to talk to the other teacher #which was all true and there was no one else there to tell him #anyway #apparently the person who had my job before me was a wacko who scared the parents with fake medical information or something #but that is not my fault and nobody told me that or not to tell the parents anything medical until this morning #ugh #also my supervisor is kind of a weirdo #she wanted to show everyone ~cute~ pictures of animals she has killed while hunting???#and i said i didnt want to see #and she was like ~oh it's not dead yet in the picture~#like okay but its dead now???#she traps them first so its a cute little fox in a trap about to be killed 😭#like wtfff #i know trappong predators is a reality but why take pictures like ohhh so cute then kill it #THEN show everyone the cute pictures like yeah isnt he adorable i killed him btw <3 #huh??????#she has a bobcat tail on her keychain too she was giving it to the teachers and kids to pet like ohhh its so soft <3

#there's something really beautiful about experiencing the weather patterns of a new place #where i live now. its not like where i grew up. not like the foothills of Appalachia but its more familiar than the Chihuahuan desert was #when i go home to ohio everythings so green. so green. unimaginably green and the towns are in the woods. the hills roll #and trees billow deciduous and packed so tightly the treeline is like a wall of plant matter. here there are trees but they are tall and #evergreen. patchy in places like shrubs in the desert. the grass grows green but also pale tan and dead. houses are routed in valleys #between mountains. they're made of wood and not stucco but they still look strange and the landscape is crumpled together tall. and there's #water. it rains. days can be dreary and gray with drizzle. i forgot what thats like. when a single low stratus cloud blocks out thewhole sk #and fog clings to the trees. my school bus used to drive by a lake where thr fog was so thick i didnt kno how the driver could see the road #but somehow i forgot how much joy suspended water vapor gives me living in a place where when it rains it pours so hard the streets flood #and the greedy ground drinks the landscape dry. but there are new things as well. here smoke rolls up over thr mountains and gets stuck in #the valleys so that the weather forcast reads: Smoke for days on end. im used to tornado warnings and heat warnings and dust storm warnings #but ive never expected Smoke as a type of weather. and im sure there's more to experience. ive only been here like 3 weeks. its not as gree #as home. the storms dont seem to get quite so violent. the woods are so full of bears that its an active threat. but its not the desert #and while ill miss the shapes of desert plants and little lizards. when i look up at the pine and spruce trees i feel like i can breathe a #little easier. well see how i feel once the long cold winter sets in haha #but i dunno. part of me still longs for a violent thunderstorm. one where u can feel the temperature drop and u csn feel it building all da #one that bends the trees and smells like ozone. it was never like that in thr southwest and im not sure that happens here #but maybe thats just a desire for chaos and violence as a product of my pathological internal control. i cant be spontaneous so let nature #bring the fear to me. some of my favorite memories are watching lightning strikes #so it goes i suppose #unrelated #listen. is it fucked up to have ohio nostalgia? maybe so. but in my defense i grew up in the pretty part of ohio lol

I got 2 skeins of yarn Specifically For Socks and now I have to restrain myself from starting some right away

But also. I've been thinking of knitting one of my Sock Yarn Sweaters starting in the corner of the front, going till I have a little square and then swapping the yarn and doing an L shaped stripe on top of it, and so on, and so on

And another with doing a colourful scales pattern with short rows, I think? I might have it somewhere from the time I encountered a knit-along for a vest/tee using it. And all the better if I can use the minis for it!!! I have 10 :3c

But all wool knitting plans are for later, when the temp is NOT circling +30C

Even if the amount of ideas makes it kinda boring to continue with current knits :(

#my pulse is 133 while sitting at my desk #i can literally feel my heart pounding #my temperature’s also gone up to 100.8 #and in general i feel like a two layer matryoshka doll #where the inner doll keeps lagging behind the outer one and knocking against the inside #i’m laying down now but i’ve been drinking water and getting up to march in place every once in a while #more importantly i’m just. surprised at how much this has impacted my appetite #i ordered a sandwich i normally devour in one sitting #and i could barely eat a quarter of it before i felt too full/too sick to continue #it’s wild . . . .#i really hope this is the peak and that i’ll feel better soon…..

hey does anyone have any knowledge on long covid making you too cold all the time/how to improve circulation in general. im feeling fine except that my hands have been cold constantly since having covid and it seems to be getting worse. i know the usual advice is "keep warm" but i can't be wearing a coat in august this is crazy

#and like my body temperature is normal #so if i layer up my body gets too hot while my arms/feet/nose are freezing #seems to have recently gotten worse also?
