EA update good news

Because i saw notes that it is harmless and the play button was blocked, i updated the game ( though my processor is 9th gen but again, blocked play button, and I did not know the "go in offline mode" trick). I was suspicious though, but what can a girl do...

Then i read messages it might break core mods. I have several, so yikes!

But no worries

Other than the simler90' slander, I trust them.

The seven mods igazor mentions are the only ones you need to be worried about, but even if you get a mismatch error message, it is safe to ignore and play the game. Nothing going on.

Any problems are more likely to come from other conflicts or outdated mods.

It is of course still a new development, but for now all seems well.

I'm practically snowed in at the moment, so sims and wine are on the agenda. Sorry not sorry.

Other than that I thought I'd give a little update on what's going on in my life. I'm starting a new job as a sommelier in February, can't wait - I'll be reuniting with some old colleagues that I've really missed working with. I also decided to take some time off before starting, so my last day at my previous job was Dec 29, 2024. So I have a whole month off to just rewind, relax and play sims. Might take a little trip somewhere, but at the moment travelling is chaotic because of heavy snow in the whole of Southern Norway. Anyhoo, expect me spamming your dash!

**UPDATE: Okay, I finally got into my graphics rules file and what's weird is that my card was still listed, just missing the 0x in front of the code. Also where the input for Uber goes was missing one digit...I have a 1660 Super so instead of there being 16?? Like there's supposed to be it said 6?? ... not sure how that happens... Anyway I got all that reset as well as my seti texture and all that and then discovered some of the settings in my actual options document were changed as well...full moon being set to 10 days instead of 6... just bizarre, but it's all fixed and seems to be functioning now 🤞

I opened my game a couple of nights ago and it looked AWFUL...I haven't changed anything other than the update that EA rolled out. Well it had been working fine after the update, when I noticed it looked different, I thought maybe it was my old tired eyes, but it was super glitchy. Then last night I had repeated crashes including one that was immediately followed by a prompt to update the EA app. I figured that was the cause until my computer completely froze and started to revv up. I had to hard reset it and have been checking everything from corrupt files to possible bios problems.

Then I realized...my graphics rules is suddenly missing from my Sims folder and my graphics card is no longer matched.

I'm not going to speculate how this randomly happened, but just a heads up if anyone is experiencing sudden performance or graphics problems, check your device config file and make sure your card is still matched.

some of y’all really gotta name your cc better nobody knows what lmaoidek420.package is PUH-LEASE just include your username and the type of cc it is (hair/shirt/blush/whatever) somewhere in the file name it makes spring cleaning and googling for wcifs a lot easier and people don’t have to open up dozens of poorly labeled mystery packages in s4s to find out what they are. Continuation 3/01/24

Their moderation process is still inconsistent and sometimes they make mistakes (like one of my uploads receiving a 'Changes Required' warning, only to be approved two minutes later without any changes made on my part). Unfortunately, there aren't many other sites that cater to The Sims 3 creations aside from Tumblr and TSR.

Moving forward, I will continue uploading my next builds to the MTS site but I will always prioritize Tumblr/SimFileShare. This means that any new creations will be first posted here and at MTS a week after or depending again on their moderation period.

If anyone is interested or prefers downloading through MTS, I have already updated the links to each of the posts of the lots mentioned above. XOXO - petalrue

📣 The MTS link for the 'The Monotwo' upload is back on their site. After inquiring about their Queue Bypass and Rejection process, which I didn't really get clear answers on their end, one of their administrators revived my thread, so I was able to add the required comparison pictures, which I did as soon as I read the notice.

I understand the importance of following rules and guidelines; believe me, I am a perfectionist. If you specify that the picture should be a certain size and dimension, I will make sure to adhere to it. I was just confused that their moderation seems inconsistent and was baffled that it was rejected without giving me notice first or letting me make the changes before they restricted the thread.

They stated in their guidelines that "Items with minor issues will be left 'live,' and a moderator will simply ask, via a comment on the thread, for the creator to fix the issues when they get a chance. Items with more major issues will be moved back to the queue with a note from the moderator and then either marked 'Changes Required' or removed."

You would think adding pictures falls under the Minor Issues category because their edit process is easy to navigate, where you can simply add the missing pictures but my upload was completely removed, thus they consider it a Major Issue.

Also, an admin said that "Bypass gives you three days to make changes, the queue gives 7 days to make changes. If an upload in bypass has completely ignored all the guidelines, chances are high that it will immediately be sent to the queue." My post was removed the day after I uploaded it, so I was not given three days at least, and I really didn't ignore all the guidelines but I was immediately sent to the queue, which got me confused.

Now, as I said above, I am a perfectionist but we humans tend to make mistakes once in a while. So, when I uploaded my first community lot on the MTS site, I forgot to add the comparison pictures to the Library Renovation. But weirdly, that upload was approved; thus, I figured maybe it was optional and then this happened, hence the confusion again. lol

Anyways, I just wanted to update this PSA and hopefully help other new creators in case they decide to use MTS as their main. I previously stated that I have decided not to upload my recent works with them until further notice and unfortunately, that statement still stands. I know it's weird for me to pause after one incident but I followed their upload process and expected a clear due process if mistakes happened. However, this one left a bad taste in my mouth somehow. I am still uncertain when to get back, but once I do, I will update the links here. XOXO - petalrue

📣 The MTS link for my 'The Monotwo' upload has unfortunately been removed due to MTS rejecting the upload on their end. I felt disheartened when I received the message from their moderators and was more confused about the reason for their outright rejection. I expected there to be a due process where I would at least have a chance to edit my uploads but they removed it because I didn't post two comparison pictures of the original 'The Monotone' lot. I should have listened to other veteran creators when they warned me about the site, but alas, I was stubborn.

I have decided not to upload my recent works with them until further notice. To be honest, I just feel sad and my questions about it have not been answered yet. Knowing them, it may take days or weeks for that to be noticed or it might just get ignored. Anyways, my three other downloads will remain on my MTS profile if anyone is interested, but I will be using Sim File Share only moving forward.

I feel like my brain gained a wrinkle?

Okay, some people might know this already, but I'm sharing for those who don't! Sims 3 players, if you have @omedapixel's Sims 3 decorator Tool, you can select a OSMP (even the resizer and tipsy ones), and move your sims around with it.

Currently, the mod doesn't support moving a sim on it's own, but this is an excellent workaround. Works really good when you're trying to pose a sim and need to move them up or down or tilt and spin them a little.

So just a little psa for you because my brain felt SO unsmooth when I tried it out lol 🫶🏾

PSA for All TS3 Players (and even TS4 players)

For the past few days I've been molding my ideal TS3 experience with essential quality of life mods, and one in particular has recently been deleted. As we all know, TS3 didn't ship with an official Open For Business type pack, they decided to put bits and pieces of one on the store, if you ask me, they're trying to pull the same idea with TS5 (Project Rene) - but I digress. Anyways, The one mod that gives you that Open For Business experience/functionality, Sim State - The Sims 3 Open For Business Mini Expansion v1.4, is GONE. I was devastated because it's the one mod I can't play without. Thankfully, Wayback Machine was able to capture a fully functional download page over on MTS. Please download this mod while you can! Even if you don't play TS3, but you might in the future - store it in a folder somewhere. There's no telling when or if the creator will upload it again.

Long Overdue Life Update

Whew, the title sounds kinda ominous, doesn't it?

Lemme say right off the bat that this isn't some Big PSA post or anything to that effect. I'm only checking in because I've been quiet for a while and figured an update is the least I can do. 🙂

Nothing major or life-changing is happening on my end; I've just been shitty at finding the time for sim-blogging these past months due to work and other day-to-day rl stuff, though I have been simming a bit in the background. Mostly going on download sprees and sorting cc, but I'm also about two-thirds through my next BaCC rotation and have a few new hair and handswap wips that are share-ready save for previews.

Oh and also: I got a new puppy! She's a 3-and-a-half-months-old Jack Russel mix and the main culprit for the abovementioned lack-of-time for simming. The cute lil' attention hog wants ALL the cuddles! "PC time? What PC time? Pet me instead, hooman!"

Other things of note in my life, in no particular order:

We've had relatives from Croatia visiting last week with their kids. The kids are super smart and super cute but with the energy levels of a medium-sized nuclear reactor. It's been fun.

I finally went to see a Rammstein concert!!! 🤯 The experience of a lifetime, holy shit. I literally have no words to describe how mesmerizing that stage was. Like, I shit you not, I have 3 GBs worth of concert footage.

Speaking of metal: Gojira KILLED IT at the Olympics Opening! Also: Turkish Shooter Guy and Norwegian Muffin Man are living rent-free in my head. I'm the worst, I only follow professional sports for the memes.😆

I've been moved to a new division at work and am currently sitting in a small office with the two biggest goobers in the entire institution. Between that and me finally having accumulated enough knowledge + experience to have a clue what I'm doing, work's been pretty stress-free for once.

Conversely, my colleagues from the old division are struggling due to lack of staff, too much work, mismanagement, internal strife, and pressure from both within and outside the institution. I feel so bad for them, but at the same time, a selfish part of me is grateful that I'm not there to suffer the shitshow on my own hide.

I have unanswered asks from (probably) months ago and am Very Ashamed of the fact. I'll get back to you guys, I promise! 😰
