I just learned the most devastating news turns out Ghost actually came to the town I lived in back in 2019 for the Pale Tour Named Death back when he was still Cardinal but I… hadn't learned about them yet…. and I missed the chance to see them without having to drive at least 4 hours. And him perform as Cardinal. 😢 But then I could have done the thing where I saw him in town and THEN driven the 4 hours to see them again like 2 days later.

It’s not going to be an album announcement. I have nothing to go on but my own experiences, and my North American tour shirts, and I have been very wrong before, so take this all with some salt.

Again, I’m using the North American tour dates for this.

-The single “RATS” dropped on Friday the 13, 2018.

-The tour “Rats! on the Road” started 5 May, 2018 and ran until 2 June 2018.

-The album PREQUELLE was released on 1 June 2018.

-“Rats! on the Road” was the album hype tour.

-The next named tour, “A Pale Tour Named DEATH,” began 26 October 2018 and ran until 15 December 2018.

-“The Ultimate Tour Named DEATH” began 13 September 2019 and ran until 26 October 2019.

-”Pale Tour” and “Ultimate Tour” were the post-album-release tours.

~NOW JOURNEY WITH ME TO… uh, now~

-Ghost will do a co-headliner tour with Volbeat, beginning 25 January 2022 and run to 3 March 2022.

-You, savvy reader that you are, may be saying now “Okay so based on the RATS timeline, a single should drop a month before the tour starts, and an album should drop a day before the tour ends! Wow, Zombie sure is good at this!”

-I think this is wrong.

-“Rats! On the Road,” the PREQUELLE hype tour, was a solo gig to promote a new album. Why would Ghost take a co-headliner tour to promote a new album? Wouldn’t they rather have another round of “An Evening with Ghost”-style events?

-Whatever is coming at the new moon or full moon or whatever, it will most likely be a video, or a B-Side (maybe we’re getting a proper recording of “Sympathy for the Devil” or another POPESTAR-styled EP after all), or possibly a new single but I am going to doubt that simply because of the nature of the upcoming tour.

-Again! I’ve been super wrong about things before! And I’m only PREQUELLE’s cycle for analysis because I only got in to Ghost in 2017; I have no data for prior releases.

Tobias Forge: People want to see a show

The hard rock band Ghost, led by singer and songwriter Tobias Forge, receives the government's music export award for 2019, a year when Ghost performed on 137 stages worldwide.

- It should definitely be up on the wall, says Forge about the award.

Ghost engaged in music exports in the literal sense of the word during the "A pale tour named death" tour that followed the album "Prequelle" and which ran from autumn 2018 to March this year. When the pyrotechnic smoke subsided and the last hellish guitar riffs echoed out, 137 gigs in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia were cut.

It is precisely the desire to tour and show off, especially in the US, that is a big part of Ghost's recipe for success, says Tobias Forge.

What happens if the situation does not return to "normal", that music can be played in front of a large audience, in the foreseeable future he does not want to speculate.

Over the years, Tobias Forge has worn various scenalias, most recently a creation called Cardinal Copia which at the end of the "A pale tour named death" tour rose in the ranks of Ghost's unholy church and was titled Papa Emeritus IV.

TT: How does Papa Emeritus IV view now having the support of both Satan and the state?

- I may forward the question, but I assume that he is satisfied with it, says Forge.
