Lately, not a single day has passed without the Armenian phrase "cavd tanem" [ցավդ տանեմ], directly translating to "Let me take away your pain", crossing my mind. A phrase filled with such deep devotion and yet, it's uttered daily and graces simple everyday conversations. In a sentence, it simply replaces the name of the addressee.

"Vonc es, cavd tanem?" - "How are you, [let me take your pain away]?"

"Cavd tanem, jur kberes?" - "[Let me take away your pain], could you bring me a glass of water?"

Such abundance of love that miniature rivers of it effortlessly flow into the most pedestrian pathways!

10 Simple Ways to Worship Mother Nature

These could apply to any earthly god or goddess really, so feel free to borrow any ideas that speak to you! And please tell me about how you worship your deity, I'd love to know 💚🪲

Going for daily, mindful walks. Sometimes I'll listen to music, other times I'll just listen to the world around me.

Wear a lot of greens and browns, as well as recycled and more sustainable fabrics (a lot of my clothes are also thrifted, and I try to avoid overconsumption)

Decorate my space with earthy colours, posters and pieces of the earth - I have crystals, bones, pressed flowers and even rocks and twigs in my room

Learn about nature and the world around me - I am a zoology student so my academic career is also a devotion to Mother Nature but I also learn about what animals I can see locally, I study when and where flowers bloom and how to tell when rain is coming etc

Reconnect with my more primal side - a significant part of my work with Mother Nature is reognising and accepting that humans are animals, and we behave as such; we cannot allow ourselves to become seperate from wilderness. To me, this involves connecting with my intuition and gut feelings, recognising my emotions and desires and working with them

Making and wearing daisy chains or flower crowns

Creating art inspired by the world around me and myself

Caring for animals (that includes other humans) when I can and it's safe: from helping a snail move across the path, to making sure a dying bird can rest peacefully, to giving food and money to the homeless

Loving myself, though it isn't always easy

Spending time outside with my hands in the dirt or streams, speaking with the trees and birds and listening to their replies

how I approach chengxian vs. how I approach nieyao

I was thinking about it and like. When I see Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng in fanart or an edit, I stop to think about whether the poster is framing them as romantic or not before tagging. Is it meant to be platonic or romantic? People have strong feelings. I think the incest discourse is nonsense (because part of what makes that relationship interesting is the conflicting messages they get about what their relationship should be vs. what it is—like the fundamental lack of safety that comes with the lack of definition is part of what drives the dissolution of their relationship) but people are allowed to feel how they want about it! I like completely platonic takes on their relationship, too! They were, in fact, very sweet as children! There are many options I'm happy to explore!

Meanwhile, no matter what kind of fucked up shit is happening, I see Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue and am just like: Nieyao. Jin Guangyao taunting him in front of Wen Ruohan? Nieyao. Nikto who comes over just to make sure you still have his clothes. Talking to himself in satisfaction when he sees a whole stack amount of his clothes mixed into yours. Nikto who "accidentally" leaves his clothes in your house for you to keep. Nikto who folds a clean boxer into your drawer of panties, taking one for himself. An eye for an eye.

But also Nikto who leaves a dehumidifier in your closet so the clothes don't smell like shit other than him. Leaving you some scented candles if he notices the smell of your house is "off" cough cough having someone over. Gifting you some bedspray the same as his so he can pretend that you're in the same shitty bed he is on during deployment. Nikto who comes back and the first thing he does is replace and maintain the cleanliness of your house, refurnishing the floors if they're wooden. Replacing the grout if they're old.

Leaving mothballs in your bathroom and closet. Checking on the batteries of your devices. Neatly arranging your cables. Spraying antibug spray onto the walls and floor. Making the house all devoid of life except you. It makes him calmer. Doing the chores and the environment. Just the way he likes it. Clean, sterile and you. He loves you.

How many mothers are truly appreciated? I have seen many children holding grudges against their mothers often blaming them for their personal failures. Children fail to understand that mothers receive no training to be mothers. It is mostly on-the-job training. I thought that the early part of motherhood is the toughest. But handling teens is even tougher. Mothers aren't perfect but they try their best and many a times sadly fail, resulting in moments of despair, despondency and desperation. Motherhood is not for the faint hearted. Mothers need a whole lot of grace, God's help, courage and persistence. Godly mothers fight their battles on their knees. They are totally dependent on Jesus, their Miracle worker. They see hopeless situations turn around. They see victories won through their fervent prayers

Your mother has fought battles you know nothing about. She gave her all to raise you.
