Okay so finally my OC lol.
Okay, so my OC is a doe demon that goes by Voe. She was born in 1997 and died in 2024. She has short curly black hair as a human, short, curly red hair as a demon, big doe ears on top of her head, and deer spots under her eyes. She’s 5’5 and plus sized! Light brown skin (not tan BROWN) and kinda of mix between a human and deer nose.
27 year old trust fund baby. A HS mean girl grown up. She has no job, and lives in and upper west side apartment paid for by her parents. She receives a monthly allowance to pay for her needs. She is bisexual with a certain distaste for men. She enjoys breaking up relationships and ruining people’s lives. She studies human behavior and interactions to understand how other people’s brains work.
She is autistic (Like me!). When she was younger, she was ostracized and ignored for being “weird”. She refuses to face that again. One of the biggest things she hates is being dismissed or someone making her feel unimportant. She studies people and the rules of social interaction to use these rules against them. She makes a habit of breaking up (hetero) couples (lol) by going after the women. And one of her favorites pastimes is ruining men’s reputations, mostly if they bother her or are openly sexist (I mean fair, right?)
Her death was really sudden lol, she got shot in a grocery store while shopping for Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches (her fave!), by the husband of her last sexual conquest. He ‘hunted’ her, for all intents and purposes.
And she does NOT think she belongs in Hell. (But she does).
NOT THE DEER BABY!! 😭 She's just a little mischievous-come on guys...let her in heaven...She's just a lil' fella, just a little troublemaker...

So, about a week after my last migraine, I woke up with a headache and blurry vision, but I had myself absolutely convinced I was fine. Nausea hit around noon and I told my husband, "I am experiencing migraine symptoms but it's not a migraine. I'm fine."
And he said, "The temp dropped suddenly. You're probably having a migraine. You need to take your migraine medication."
And I said, "Nope! I am perfectly fine!"
Cut to an hour later: I had decided I was gonna rearrange the library (after having to leave my meeting because I thought I was gonna vomit). My husband walks in and books are absolutely everywhere, everything is in disarray, and he looks at me asks, "...so how are you feeling?"
I tell him, "I am nauseous. I need to vomit. I'm going to the bathroom."
So there I was, sitting on the bathroom floor with the toilet seat up because I feel like I have to vomit, eyes closed because the light is hurting them, and head absolutely killing me. My husband tells me, "you are having a migraine. You need to take your medication."
And I said, "It's a sinus headache I'm fine I just need nasal spray."
He gives me the nasal spray. 20 minutes later my head is still pounding.
And I said, "....okay give me the migraine medication," and then immediately felt better after taking it.
Moral of the story: Goddamn my stubborn ass and may all the gods bless my absolute Saint of a husband

anyone else ever wish they could lie down harder? Like, I'm already horizontal, but I need more horizontal. I need to be absorbed by the floor. I think that would fix me

Okay I’m currently furious that migraines are often so blindly easy to treat and I had to find this out myself at the age of 26 when I’ve been to a neurologist since I was 11 lol so I’m about to teach you two neat and fast little tricks to deal with pain!
The first is the sternocleidomastoid muscle, or the SCM muscle.
Tumblr media
This big red section is responsible for pain around the eye, cheekbone, and jaw, as well as some temple pain. Literally all you have to do is angle your head down a little, angle it away from the side that hurts, and then you can gently pinch and rub that muscle. I find it best to start at the bottom and travel upwards. The relief is so immediate! You can increase pressure as you feel comfortable doing so.
Here is a short and easy video showing this in action
The second is a fast and easy stretch that soothes your vagus nerve, which is the nerve responsible for calming you down. The vagus nerve, for those unfamiliar, is stimulated by deep breathing such as yawning, sighing, singing, or taking a deep breath to calm your anger in a tense situation.
You can stretch this out by sitting up as straight as possible (this does not have to be perfect to work) and interlacing your fingers. Put your hands on the back of your head with your thumbs going down the sides of your neck and, while keeping your face forward, look all the way to one side with just your eyes. Hold that until you feel the urge to breathe deeply or yawn, or until you can tell there’s a change. Then do the same thing on the other side. When you put your arms down, you should clearly be able to turn your head farther in both directions. If the first session doesn’t get rid of your migraine, rest and repeat as many times as necessary. I even get a little fancy with it and roll my eyes up and down along the outer edge sometimes to stretch as much as I can.
If you need a visual here’s a good video on it. I know some of the language they use seems questionable but this is real and simple science and should not be discarded because it’s been adopted by the trendy wellness crowd!
I seriously cannot believe I didn’t hear a word of this from any doctor in my life. Additionally, if you get frequent recurring migraines, you may want to see a dietician. Migraines can be caused by foods containing histamines, lectin, etc. and can also be caused by high blood pressure in specific situations such as exercise, stress, and even sex.
If any of this information helps you I’d love to hear it btw! It’s so so fast and easy to do. Good luck!

friendly reminder you dont need a diagnosis to be in disability spaces, as an example im in constant pain and fatigue, have migraines every week and my joints hurts to a point I can't write, but since familiar gaslighting/medical trauma and the fact that im an indigenous, brown skin fat man a diagnosis is fucking hard (but im in my way! :)) , but i still deserve a safe space to talk about my experiences and to feel valuable and supported.
never feel like youre interrupting someone's space or that you shouldn't be here cause you dont have a diagnosis, disabilities existed before diagnosis

common myths about migraines (AKA if you get headaches regularly, please seek treatment for migraines)
"i don't have migraines because while i get them several times a week, it's only when i am hungry or dehydrated."
those are probably migraines. thirst, hunger, sleep disturbances, or any disruption to routine are common migraine triggers.
"my headaches are specifically barometric related, i get them when the weather/altitude changes."
those are probably migraines. barometric pressure is a common migraine trigger.
"i get headaches all the time but ibuprofen gets rid of them so they can't be migraines."
that's not true. ibuprofen works great at relieving migraine pain for many people.
"my consistent headaches are tension headaches. i feel them originate in my neck/shoulders."
those are probably migraines. muscle tension is a common migraine trigger.
if you are regularly getting headaches (once a week or more), you are likely getting migraines. in fact, a good rule of thumb if you're consistently getting headaches is to treat them as migraines until you can rule out migraines. that's how common "chronic headache = migraine" actually is.
migraines are a neurological disorder wherein pain is one symptom. pain is often the MAIN symptom, and the most noticeable symptom, which can make diagnosis tricky. other symptoms of migraine include:
fatigue
nausea/vomiting
digestive issues
visual disturbances (auras)
sensitivity to light and/or sound
mood changes
brain fog/cognitive changes
ringing in the ears
dizziness/vertigo
numbness/weakness on one side of the body
this list is NOT complete, but is a starting point. i really like the comparison to a hangover. if you generally feel hungover when you get a headache (without having consumed alcohol), that's a classic migraine presentation.
so many people suffer from migraine and don't even know it, so they aren't able to advocate for themselves to get treatment. there are great new migraine treatments on the market! if you're able, please seek treatment for your migraines. a better quality of life is possible.

I’m so proud of people living with chronic health conditions. That shit is HARD. Idk who needs to hear this, but if no one else has said it: I’m proud of you. You’re sticking it out through so much pain and grief. That’s no small feat.
Every small thing you do for yourself health adds up. The grief is heavy and it comes from a place of love. The grief knows the pain is wronging you.
I’m proud of you. I hope on the good days you can be proud of yourself.
Keep going.
