location: florida is one hell of a drug (disney world)
time frame: around tommy's birthday weekend, approx dec 8
The next morning, Delilah woke up practically holding Tommy's hand-- now emblazoned with a beautiful golden band that she simply could not take her eyes off of-- and she felt an extra spring in her step as they made their way over to the Polynesian Resort, where they were going to have breakfast at a restaurant called Ohana. Since Tommy had never been to Disney World, Delilah was trying to keep as much as she could a surprise. Watching his face light up like a little kid's made her even more filled to the brim with joy. Fianceé was a word she'd have to get used to, but she didn't think it would take long. After however many sad years of being apart, they were finally building their future-- together. Delilah reached for his hand and kissed it as they rode the monorail to the Polynesian, and jumped up when it was their stop. She led them down the absolutely stunning lobby and to the restaurant-- where Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Lilo, and Stitch were greeting the guests at the tables. "Have I told you how much I love you today? Because if not, call the FLPD. That's a literal crime."

Dancing With the Stars celebrated Disney's 100th anniversary with a night dedicated to the music from the company's first century. We opened with a performance of "Bare Necessities" that accompanied the pros all riding in Hyundai IONIQ 5 SUVs which come with a Disney100 edition. We even got a glimpse of Val and Jenna's son Roman and he is adorable. Of course Mickey and Minnie dropped by to help our stars celebrate and the audience was even given special light up Mickey ears to wear in the ballroom as well.
On a somber note, the show paid tribute to former contestant Suzanne Somers who died over the weekend. They showed a picture of her before the show and Alfonso gave a little speech toward the end that was accompanied by a picture of her and partner Tony. It was a sweet moment.
Alfonso also had another sweet moment at the very end of the show when he wished former partner Witney Carson a happy birthday.
So who had a happy ending and who had their Disney Dreams crushed? Let's check it out!
Adrian and Britt: I'm not very surprised that Adrian got eliminated this week. His Viennese waltz to Dumbo's "Baby Mine" was nice but it didn't really standout. I always make it a point to really watch every dance and not let myself get distracted but even when this one ended, I knew I wasn't going to remember it. And I didn't. The most memorable thing was that he was accompanied by pianist Chloe Flowers on a special edition piano made by Steinway to commemorate Disney's 100th anniversary. So that didn't bode well for him and his elimination proved it.
Xochitl and Val: Xochitl landed at the top of leaderboard by herself this week with her paso doble to "Un Poco Loco" from the movie Coco. It was an unusual choice for a paso doble, which was acknowledged by the judges. The song is faster than the traditional paso and is more of a silly song while the paso is a rather serious dance. But Xochitl handled it like a pro and showed why she is a serious contender for the Len Goodman mirrorball trophy. I think this will be a routine that goes down in DWTS history.
Ariana and Pasha: Fun fact - Ariana used to work at Disney World after graduating college. It sounds like she may have been a princess based on Julianne's comments during Ariana's skybox interview. I can see it. Anyway, Ariana channeled Elsa for a contemporary routine to "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2. And while it was a beautiful routine, it felt a little too safe for me. I wish Pasha had given Ariana some more complex moves and really let her act out some of the angst of this song, stuck between wanting nothing to change but knowing that there is more out there. Hopefully we get to see Ariana do another contemporary so she can really wow us.
Charity and Artem: Charity closed out the show with a waltz to "Part of Your World," paying tribute to this summer's remake of The Little Mermaid. She talked about how it felt to see a Disney princess who looked like herself and how she hopes to inspire girls who look like her too. And she continues to be technically proficient but she's still not topping the leaderboard. I still think her lack of emotional connection to the songs is what is holding her back. "Part of Your World" is an "I Want" song but Charity danced it with the biggest smile on her face the entire time. I think if she had played it more wistfully, it would've really elevated her routine and she could've placed higher.
Jason and Daniella: I loved Jason's foxtrot to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. I'm not sure why it didn't get scored higher. I guess the judges might now expect more from him. Or I wonder if they saw something through the fog on the dance floor that we couldn't at home. But I think if he continues the way he's going, he's a lock for the finals - barring any surprise eliminations.
Lele and Brandon: I'm not sure why I didn't like this routine as much as I've liked Lele's other routines. She seemed to handle the rumba to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King well enough. But it lacked something. Maybe it was a spark? Maybe Brandon played it too sweet that it lost the sultry? I don't know but it was something.
Harry and Rylee: There was some buzz that Rylee had stolen big sister Lindsay's choreography because Lindsay danced the quickstep to Toy Story's "You Got a Friend in Me" with partner Sean Spicer. So I watched Harry's and Sean's routines back-to-back and while there is one sequence that looks lifted from Lindsay's routine, they are still different enough to consider it an homage than outright copying. Though maybe the producers should've given them a different song and/or dance style. Either way, Harry did handle the quickstep well enough and I would say he was better than Sean - Rylee added some more complicated moves that he pulled off well. Harry may end up being this season's dark horse - we're just going to have to see.
Mira and Gleb: Mira danced a waltz to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella and it was gorgeous. She finally let herself be lost in the dance and the music, which I think really helped her. Again, like most creatives, she is likely her own worst enemy. Once she stops standing in her own way, she'll really start to soar.
Mauricio and Emma: Mauricio opened Disney night with a paso doble to the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" sequence from Fantasia. With Emma dressed as a broom, they danced across the floor with ease. The paso doble isn't an easy dance but he did well with it. Was it at the same level as Xochitl's? Of course not. But it held a charm all its own. And it's clear that Mauricio has fan support so I think he'll have a few more chances to continue to improve.
Alyson and Sasha: Alyson danced a jazz routine to "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast, though she was honoring the Broadway version and the start of Disney on Broadway. It was a nice routine but I feel it could've popped more. The judges gave her props for dancing with her hair done up to mimic Lumiere's top candle but I wonder if her performance would've been better if she didn't have to worry about it.
Barry and Peta: Barry talked about working with Bob Freakin' Fosse in the Broadway production of Pippin, so Peta hoped it would give him a leg up in their jazz routine to "He's a Tramp" from Lady and the Tramp. And it seemed to be going well until a trick went wrong. At first, I couldn't tell who messed up - Barry or Peta - in their lift but it seems it was Barry. That through them off but he seemed to catch up, though a little too late. But he's still fun to watch and hopefully the audience keeps him around a little longer despite sending him to the bottom three this time.
So that was Disney Night! Break out the tissues because the next show is Most Memorable Year night, which always promises to be a tearjerker. The show will also have a special tribute to Len Goodman as the current pros will be joined by past pros to perform a Viennese waltz to "Moon River" in his honor. For a moment, I worried that by "past pross" they just meant Julianne and Derek but no, they mean several past pros! Kym, Tony, Anna, Edyta, Karina, Maks, Louis and Mark will be joining in this tribute. So it will be nice to see them again and it see their tribute to Len.
See you all then!

House of Mouse Double Feature: House of Scrooge and House of Turkey Review (Patreon Reviews for WeirdKev27)
Happy Thanksgiving All You Happy People! I”m Jake, I review stuff, and today we got a hot and fresh set of Patreon reviews. I had a busy weekend so I simply pushed my House of Scrooge back a bit from the week of his birthday to Thanksgiving week, since what says Black Friday more than a greedy old man trying to suck the life out of a buisness? Well okay this... this says it more
youtube
I”ll get to THAT next year, and unlike some review promises i’ve made i’m sticking to this one. But still, it fits enough I can justify this so it’s time to come on in to the House of Mouse for what’s one of the FINAL times this year. Next Year while i’ll likely visit again, with Kev now putting his patreon reviews to Watchmen and whatever pops into his head, this year long House of Mouse Marathon is coming to a close, cumilating in the second and final film, Snowed in at the House of Mouse.
So come on in for some heaping helpings of the plot not making any sense, scrooge’s greed nearly destroying a functioning business (So an average Monday for him then), Shakespeare, Attempted Turkey Murder, Cranberry Sauce Machine Guns, and Mickey’s Nuts. It’s a nice plateful under the cut.
Since House of Mouse is short based, that makes combining the two easy. In reverse of my usual i’ll do the wraparound FIRST, that way it makes it clear when we shift from House of Scrooge to House of Turkey.
Okay then
House of Scrooge:
So this wraparound is a mixed bag. I remember back when I was a kid hating this wraparound, and as a 20 something I ranted about it on tv tropes once back when I could still edit. (Grammar issue, not big deal, i’ve long accepted it), something I was reminded of when kev showed me a thing about this very episode on the site.
In the present.. I don’t hate it, but while there is a lot of good i’ll get to.. I have to get to the bad first as the episode’s very premise makes absolutely no sense. Now I do get why some of you are likely tiliting your heads: The House of Mouse is at it’s core an excuse to have fun stories with the Mickey Gang at the neat setting of their own night club, letting their dynamics play out while also having some fun guest stars from the disney canon both for quick jokes and for full episodes. I get that.
But the show still has a decently fleshed out spine and it’s part of it’s charm: they clearly put a LOT of thought into how this setup works, from what jobs each character does to who owns it. As such the situation with the buildling The HOM runs out of is shockingly well defined despite the fact Pete only showed up in 11 episodes including this one. As such I have a very clear understanding of the ownership situation for the club i’m going to lay out for you fine folks so you understand WHY this makes no sense.
Mickey and Donald are co-owners of the club, and thus pay the rent together, and make decisions together with Minnie who manages the club’s operations for them which INCLUDES it’s budget. The three have all the say in what that budget is used for, what the theme night each week is, who the guests are (Minnie books those, she’s the glue holding this place together to be honest), whose on staff (Hence why it’s all their friends) , all the day to day stuff.
Pete is their landlord. He owns the building, and while he’d love to tear it down he legally can’t because Mickey’s lease agreement states that as long as the show goes on, he can’t shut them down. Pete inhereted this from the unamed previous landlord. I know this because one of the episodes covered this year was the FIRST EPISODE. In the FIRST EPISODE, Pete tries shutting down the club due to owning the building, and Mickey finds out about this clause. It’s why every plan he has from then on is trying to get the place shut down: if there’s no show, then he can legally throw them all out.
Now the reason I went to all this trouble.. is that this episode revolves around Pete selling the club to Scrooge. That itself isn’t a terrible idea, have someone else try to ruin it or try to convert it. The problem is the episode treats this like Scrooge has a say over the clubs budget because he owns the building it’s in. This OBJECTIVELY is nonsense: if Pete could do that the whole time, then he would’ve slashed the clubs budget LONG ago. Scrooge has no right to this and the contract clearly gives Mickey full reign of the space as long as he keeps it running.
Now Scrooge owning a stake in the club, and buying pete out so he could control it more and turn a profit would make way more sense. Say Donald had to sell his owndership or something. It makes this plot work as he now has control of both the building and how it operates as co-owner and landlord. He also has ZERO interaction with Donald or the triplets by the way. He fired the latter, which does actually make sense. Of course he’d fire them if they woudlnt’ work free. he barely pays his family as is. Why would he do so when he thinks he dosen’t have to by playing a radio?
The episode’s other problem is it just get tedious: it’s one long string of scrooge slashing the budget, with him never getting a compuance. The club goes broke due to his management but he dosen’t learn a lesson like he would in the comics or get some form of karma: he just gets his money back from pete. He starts out no worse off than he was after an episode of ruining our heroes buisness because he thought he knew better.
The saving grace is, as I said, some of the jokes do land: Scrooge feels very in character barks wise here, cutting corners even when it dosen’t make perfect since, and being crotechty and thinking he knows better and Alan Young voices him to perfection as he always did. Young easily makes some bits that shoudln’t of worked, like Scrooge showing off his dime (though him calling it Lucky bothers me a little, this WAS before Rosa’s influence was baked into the character so fair enough) simply by pure talent.
Overall this wraparound isn’t great and not really enjoyable and it’s a shame given this is the one time scrooge showed up in the wraparounds. Thankfully the shorts didn’t waste him. Speaking of which
A Midsummer Night’s Dream:
It’s time once again for a two part adaptation of classic literature, this time one of Willie Shake’s plays. To explain it for those of you who haven’t read it, here’s a song:
youtube
If your curious about what the hell you just witnssed, that’s the opening number of the in-universe school play “A Midnight Summer’s Rockin Eve”, from the 2000′s film Get Over It, a faviorite of mine when I was in high school and a film that still has a place in my heart to this day. It’s your standard 2000′s rom com at the core: A guy gets dumped by his longtime girlfriend for a british boy band man, who joins their school, and joins the school play to win her back. He ends up falling for his best friends sister instead over the course of things, his best friend dosen’t take it well but eventually gets his head out of his ass, you know the drill. What makes the film delightful, sometimes genuinely funny sometimes in a so bad it’s good kinda way, is the bizzare and wonderful trappings around it: We open with a dream musical number rendition of love will keep us together, as I mentioned the douchey rival is a former boy band member whose scenery chewing is a sight to behold and oh yeah PULLS OUT NUNCHUCKS HE HAPPENS TO HAVE TO TRY AND ATTACK OUR HERO AND WINDS UP INJURING SOME PEOPLE IN THE PROCESS
youtube
The film also involves, as you might have seen in the clip, our hero accidently ending up in a bdsm show and getting arrested, his parents both being sex therapists who talk openly about it and are just a delight, and the director of our play, Desmond Oates, played by Martin Short, an egocentric ham of the finest order who delights in every scene he’s in and whose grown on me with time. Add in the fact that Sisquo is in there for some reason, which gives us the awesome closing rendition of Earth Wind and Fire’s September.
youtube
Why this isn’t on any music streaming I don’t know. I do know i’ll probably be reviewing this at some point as it’s a treat, and that you can find it on PlutoTV and Crackle for FREE at the time this review goes out, and can find it on Paramount+ add free if you have that.
Anyways I promote this flim so much because it’s a pretty simple retelling with who you’d expect: Mickey is Lysander, Minnie is Hermia, Donald is Demetrius (Making it one of the rare times those three have been a love trinagle, nice) and Daisy is Helena. Pitching in on the guest cast are Scrooge as Hermia’s obnoxious dad Egeus (And yes I looked up all the names), and Ludwig Von Drake as Theseus, Duke of Athens. Scrooge is mostly just there to try to force Minnie to marry donald , and how Scrooge and goldie made a mouse is never explained so i’m just rolling with it, while Ludvig plays a more lampshadey version of the duke, admitting the law , that she must marry or die, is kind of extreme (though the plan also gave Hermia the option to become a nun, so there’s that but this is streamlined), and later chastising scrooge for being a bad parent.
So the natural happens: mickey and minnie run off to elope, Daisy tells Donald thinking he’ll do the same with her only for him to chase them down and that’s when the fairies get involved as King Oberon sends his man Puck to go sprinkle dust in the lovers eyes to get things right.. but much like the play stupidly tells him to “find a lad with athenian clothing”. Even in a disney adaptation that makes no sense. The fairies are a bigger part of the original play, but again this is trimmed down, so Oberon’s whole marial issues subplot with is wife and his wife turning a guys head into a donkey and trying to fuck him due to her husbands antics are removed. I swear to god all of this happened and was in my english lit class. The play may actually be weirder than the teen comedy with nunchuck pants and sisquo.
Point is Goofy naturally goofs it up, Mickey and donald fight over Daisy, sadly not in musical form
youtube
I’m milking getting to use these for all it’s worth. They all knock each other out, Oberon corrects it, and our heroes wake up in the proper couples.. though it is pretty fucked up Demitrius/Donald is basically drugged into loving someone back, but it took until just the last two decades for people to start realizing how fucked up the love potion trope is , so it’s not like I can rage at a disney cartoon for using it. We also get a fun twist as Mickey wakes up , having dreamnt the whole thing, a nice twist on the closing narration of thinking of the play “As but a dream”. All in all an enjoyably funny retelling of one of the greats and my only regret is, much like around the world in 80′s days, is that this could’ve been it’s own movie.
House of Genius; Money
A quick one where Ludvig Von Drake gets arrested for counterfeiting. I”m not giving you any more explanation that that, it’s really good.
House of Turkey:
It’s Thanksgiving and our heroes dress up like colonizing assholes.. I mean pilgrims, and celebrate. The guests are all expecting Turkey.
But he’s done with slashers for now: Outside of work Turkey’s a classicly trained bird who wants to show he’s more than just a gobble gobble guy despite Daisy wanting him to...
While he acts too droll for this shit, he does end up running into issues as Gus shows up at his dresser looking pretty serial killery
I.. i’d check the floorboard’s of grandma duck’s farm is all i’m saying. Either she’s unknowingly storring some bodies or the two of them are up to some texas chainsaw massacre shit.
So Turkey gets chased around a bit.. he really needs a better disguise
And finds himself hunted by Gaston till Daisy stands up to him in a great scene “I Know I know no one hunts like Gaston, let’s see if no one gets back to his table like gaston” She of course ends up chasing after the Turkey for his autograph and he ends up TRYING to complain to mickey, but mickey just.. dosen’t relaly listen at first, and when Turkey finally tells him just before his act, Mickey is so goodhearted he just CAN’T belivie his patrons would want to eat him.. despite the fact most of them are carnivores and you didn’t tell anyone you weren’t serving turkey up front ya schmuck.
So UNSUPRISINGLy having the turkey just do his act and revael tha tno, your not getting any thanksgiving dinner, enrages them and threatens to cause the club to start eating one another rules be damned. So to prevent a massacre and to save his new friend Mickey gladly dressed up like a turkey. Turkey plays us out as Mickey is presumibly eaten or beaten to death. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Jokes aside, this is a really good holiday episode, full of great gags, with a solid premise. Sometimes on the show Mickey can be a bit TOO naive to others suffering, aka almost every time with Donald’s, but here it’s used delberatley and plays into his aw shucks nature. So it works and so does this wraparound. How are the side dishes though?
Turkey Hunters:
This is just a classic, fun romp with the main trio as they try to hunt a turkey and fail. It involves Cranberry machine guns, donald in drag and Mickey uh.. he’s there I guess. Point is it’s just a lot of great slapstick gags with a heartwarming finish of it turning out the pilgrim types just wanted turkey as the guest of honor. Besides they REALLY just needed a blood sacrifice... Donald works for that. Not much to say honestly but boy what a fun short.
Mickey’s Mixed Nuts:
Look I TRY to be a tad mature here: i’ve tried to dial back the sex jokes, tried to play nicer and all.. but this is a short called “Mickey’s MIxed Nuts” and centers entirely around nuts. You just can’t ignore jokes that well giftwrapped. So..
To sum up this short mickey is hoarding his nuts and uses them all up before Minnie’s big christmas party where she badly needs them. So she has him go to the store to get more of his nuts. The problem is Chip N Dale, the little bastards, are missing THIER nuts, only having their balls, so they go to the store to replace their balls with nuts. A war over who gets to nut insues, with plenty of good slapstick but in the end Chip N Dale get to nut while Mickey is left holding the balls.
Am I proud of that? Honestly. yes. A little. Basically Mickey eats all the nuts, needs to go to the store to get more, the little shits also want nuts... .you get where this goes. It’s okay: jokes about nuts aside, it’s another Chip N Dale Short where they win, though this time at least given Mickey caused all this with his selfishness, I don’t feel A Sbad they won. Nuts to any other short with them, I look forward to the movie next year though.
So overall on the two episodes House of Scrooge is mixed, with the wraparound being choppy but the shorts being damn excellent, while House of Turkey is just a delight, having a great wraparound, a fun short, and a tolerable second one mostly due to being such fodder for testicale jokes. Overall not a bad pair. Next month i’ll be taking a look at the two christmas episodes and wrapping up this marathoon. Until then, Happy Thanksgiving, I got more goobbblesome goodies on the way. Disneyworld
Request: Can you do a Pedro Pascal imagine where him, his wife, and their child go out to like Disneyland and fans see them. Xx
A/N: I literally know nothing about Disneyworld so everything in here is from research so I’m sorry if it’s wrong. I’m English and I think the only time I’ve been to Disneyworld in Florida was for my 5th birthday and I’m turning 21 this year so lol but I still have the Minnie Mouse plushie that I got from there which is pretty cool. I went to the Disney California Adventure Park place back in 2017 and I just remember it being boring so I’m sorry again.
This is the longest fic I’ve posted on here and it’s 3k of just domestic Pedro fluff, not that I’m complaining. It’s also half two in the morning so excuse the mistakes pls
WORD COUNT: 3219
“Woah…”
Ximena was slack-jawed with amazement as she walked through main street in the Magical Kingdom park. Tightly gripping the hand of her papá like she had been instructed to, Ximena was in a state of wonder, constantly turning her head from side to side trying to take in as much as she could.
Pedro had decided a small holiday was in order for the family and planned a week away down at Florida, along with a weekend trip to Disneyworld. Him and (Y/N) had decided to keep the trip to Disneyworld a secret from their daughter, wanting to surprise her, they had even booked a room in one of the resort hotels for the weekend and the excited squeals and gasps that escaped her when she saw the Walt Disney sign as they drove in, made it worth it. After dumping their bags and slipping Ximena in a Princess Tiana dress, her favourite princess, the family left their resort room and made their way into the theme park.
As they approached Cinderella’s Castle Ximena gasped at the sight of it, looking up excitedly at her father, “Papá look!”
Pedro himself was quite amazed at the famous castle, “Wanna take a picture in front of it with mamá?”
Ximena enthusiastically nodded and turned towards her mother with her arms stretched out, asking to be carried. (Y/N) picked her up and placed her on her hip before moving to stand in front of the castle and each of them put on their biggest smiles for the camera. Pedro couldn’t help but admire his family as he took the photo, remembering how lucky he was to have them.
“Papá, you now!” Ximena chimed as she and (Y/N) returned to Pedro’s side and checked out the photo he had taken.
“Of course, mi princesa.” Pedro swung his daughter up and pressed a kiss to her cheek before moving to where his wife stood not so long ago and smiling wildly at the camera.
Before he could walk back to (Y/N) he saw someone approach her and make vague gestures with their hands making (Y/N) nod and smile enthusiastically before she passed them her phone and skipped over to her husband and daughter.
“They offered to take a photo of all three of us!” (Y/N) told Pedro, causing him to nod in understanding.
The three of them with Ximena in the middle smiled as the kind stranger took their photo, Pedro grateful that they had managed to get a photo of all three of them.
After thanking the stranger, they moved on from the castle and made their way to the Princess Fairytale Hall. Luckily for them, the line was short and in no time they were in the hall and making their way over to a certain princess. Ximena let out a quiet shriek once she spotted Princess Tiana, looking up at her parents to confirm what she was seeing was real and when they nodded the little girl wiggled in her spot excitedly, making her parents laugh.
Ximena was star-struck when Princess Tiana waved her forward, the little girl suddenly becoming shy but the princess quickly made her comfortable and soon enough she was smiling and giggling. Pedro took about a hundred photos of the interaction, absolutely loving to see his daughter so happy. Ximena was sad when their moment was up and they had to leave but the promise of going on rides and meeting the other princesses over the weekend the little girl became chipper again.
The family walked through the park, stopping and taking photos at random intervals, enjoying the warm Floridian weather.
“Wait here for just a moment.” Pedro told his family before he dipped into one of the many stores that were around them.
The mother and daughter looked at each other in confusion before bursting in giggles,
“Your daddy’s a bit silly isn’t he?” (Y/N) asked as she bent down in front of her daughter and brushed her hair back.
Ximena giggled again, “He’s really really silly.”
“Hey, I heard that!” (Y/N) looked up and saw Pedro with a faux frown on his face.
Pedro had returned without his family noticing and caught the end of their conversation. Ximena opened her mouth to apologize but her eyes caught on the bag that Pedro was holding,
“Whaddya get?”
“Nothing because you and mamá were so mean to me.” Pedro pouted.
Ximena pouted at his words, an exact replica of her father’s pout, “Lo siento papá!”
Pedro bent down in front of his daughter, “I suppose if I get a kiss and hug, I can forgive you…”
Ximena jumped into her father’s arms, pressing a kiss to his cheek before tightly wrapping her arms around his neck, “Lo siento papá.”
“Te quiero, princesa” Pedro murmured as Ximena pulled away from the hug.
“I love you too, papa.” She beamed, “And mamá too.”
(Y/N) smiled down at her daughter, “I love you too hunnybun.”
Pedro dug into the bag he was carry and pulled out a Minnie Mouse ear headband and held it out for his daughter who looked at it with wide eyes,
“For me?”
“Of course princesa” Pedro gently placed the headband on his daughter’s head and adjusted so it sat comfortably before taking a photo and showing it to his daughter. “Do you like it?”
“Uh-huh! It’s so pretty.”
“I got one for me and mamá too.” Pedro pulled out another Minnie Mouse headband and placed it one his wife’s head before pulling out a Mickey Mouse and putting it on his own head, “Now we match!”
(Y/N) could tell there were still some things left in the bag and swiped it before Pedro could stop her. She laughed when she peered into the bag and saw several other headbands and hats in there, “Did you buy out the whole shop or something?”
“It was hard to choose just one so I got several.” Pedro looked slightly embarrassed before he started to pull out the different hat’s he had bought.
“See, this one is just so cute, I couldn’t not buy it” Pedro had pulled out a pink sparkling headband that had a pink, teal and purple veil along with a fairy in the middle of the headband.
“It’s so pretty.” Ximena gasped, reaching out to touch the veil.
“You can wear it tomorrow if you want?” Pedro offered, immediately getting a nod from his daughter.
Pedro then pulled out a ‘UP’ themed headband, “This one is for you mi amor, I know it’s your favourite Disney film.”
(Y/N) blushed at the gesture, “Thank you, Pedro.”
“I also got this!” Pedro then pulled out a BB-8 ear hat. “You know I had to.”
He had bought a couple more sequined headbands along with a doughnut themed Minnie Mouse one and a Chewbacca ear hat. (Y/N) chided him for buying so much but he made an excuse that they’ll give them to friends and family but (Y/N) didn’t believe him knowing that he had bought them for Ximena but she didn’t speak on it, secretly finding it very cute.
With their headbands secured on their heads and the extras Pedro’s bought tucked safely in his bag, the family made their way towards the Dumbo Flying Elephant ride. (Y/N) decided to stand with their belongings and record them, while Pedro rode the ride with Ximena, she could hear the laughter from both Ximena and Pedro as they went round and round, causing her to smile too. Ximena ran straight into her arms as they exited the ride,
“Did you have fun?” (Y/N) asked, fixing her daughters headband.
Ximena nodded, “We went reallyyy high”
(Y/N) gasped, “Was it scary?” “Papá was there so it wasn’t scary at all!” Pedro beamed at the praise.
They had gone on ‘it’s a small ride’, ‘Mad Tea Party’ and the Prince Charming Carrousel before Ximena had passed out in her father’s arms, exhausted from her day so far.
“It’s still early.” (Y/N) said after she checked her phone, it was half-past one in the afternoon, they had been there since opening, “We can go back to the villa, let her nap and have some lunch before we go to Hollywood Studios?”
Pedro agreed and they took the bus back to their resort, both of them glad for the chance to rest their feet. When they got into their villa, they placed Ximena in the bed after taking off her shoes and Princess Tiana dress and started to make lunch, just some simple sandwiches and even though their plan was to stay awake until Ximena woke up and then go to Hollywood Studios they both ended up falling asleep on the sofa after they ate.
They both woke up with a gasp when Ximena cried out for them, scared after she had woken up in an unfamiliar place without her parents around,
“Papá! Mamá!” Ximena cried out.
(Y/N) shot up from the couch and headed towards the bedroom, Pedro right behind her. She climbed onto the bed and pulled her daughter into arms, pressing kisses over her head to comfort her, “I’m sorry sugar, papá and mamá are here.”
Ximena sniffled and snuggled closer to her mother, Pedro had sat next to her on the bed and ran a comforting hand against his daughters back.
“You’re okay, princesa.” Pedro comforted.
Ximena calmed down and pulled away, wiping her tears away before she shifted over to her father, wanting to be picked up,
“You hungry?”
Ximena nodded and the family of three left the bedroom and headed towards the kitchen. Whilst Pedro got Ximena sorted, (Y/N) made her and Pedro some coffee knowing that they both needed it.
“Nice?” (Y/N) asked as she sat the coffee mugs down on the table. Ximena nodded and swallowed her mouthful before she spoke, “Juice?”
“Ah, of course, silly mama forgot.” (Y/N) picked up a carton of apple juice and gave it to her daughter.
She moved to go sit in the chair next to Pedro but the man grabbed her waist and pulled her onto his lap instead making her let out a surprised oof. (Y/N) looked over her shoulder and saw Pedro giving her a cheeky smile causing her to turn on his lap to face him,
“You got something to say?” (Y/N) grinned
“Just that I love you” Pedro wiggled his eyebrows and tightened his grip on (Y/N)’s waist.
“You love me? I must be lucky.” (Y/N) quipped
“So lucky.” Pedro removed his hands from her waist and placed them on her face, pulling her down for a kiss.
“Ew!” Ximena exclaimed, causing the couple to pull away from each other and laugh.
“Finish your lunch and then we can go see the new Star Wars exhibit yea?”
Nodding, Ximena got to finishing her sandwich along with the slices of apple Pedro had placed on a plate.
(Y/N) and Pedro drank their coffee and discussed their plans for the next day while Ximena finished eating.
“Done!” Ximena pushed her plate away and took a gulp of her apple juice.
“Toilet and then we can go, okay?”
Ximena nodded and skipped to the bathroom. (Y/N) downed her coffee before tidying up Ximena’s plate and making sure they got everything. Ximena came back and wandered over to her father with her shoes in her hand,
“Help me papá?”
“Of course, ‘mena.” The use of her nickname made Ximena smile as she hopped onto her father’s lap and held her foot out so he could put her shoes on for her.
“Okay, we ready to go?” (Y/N) asked as she left the bathroom. Her husband and daughter nodded and soon they were on their way to Hollywood Studios.
They went on a few Toy Story rides before they headed towards Galaxy’s Edge. As they got closer the more looks they got, people double-taking as they recognized Pedro causing him to get a bit shifty,
“Are you sure you want to go? We might get overwhelmed.” He asked, suddenly nervous.
“It’s fine.” (Y/N) reassured him, “I’m sure most won’t even approach you when they see us with you.”
Pedro nodded but he still looked uncertain. As they walked further into Galaxy’s edge they got more looks and points but just like (Y/N) said, no one had approached him as they saw he was with his family.
They stopped in front of the Millennium Falcon and admired how massive it was before (Y/N) was motioning Pedro and Ximena to stand in front of it so that she could take a picture.
“You should post this one, it’s really cute.” (Y/N) told Pedro as they made their way inside to line up for ‘Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run’. They were bent of Pedro’s phone looking at the map of Galaxy’s Edge when they heard a strangled, “Oh my god it’s Pedro Pascal!”,
When they turned around they saw it was the person who was stood behind them that spoke and they turned bright red when they had turned around.
“Oh god, I’m so sorry. Ignore me!” The person spluttered.
“Nah, it’s okay.” Pedro laughed, “You wanna picture?”
The person gaped in surprise for a moment before they shook their head, “I couldn’t, you’re with your family.”
“It’s fine, don’t worry.” (Y/N) chimed in with a kind smile, “Let me take the picture.”
The fan hesitated but handed their phone to (Y/N) in the end. Pedro stood next to the person and they posed for the camera, (Y/N) handed the person’s phone back to them and smiled as they let out a thank you.
Ximena had climbed into Pedro’s arms after her legs began to ache so Pedro carried her and they quietly spoke Spanish to each other as they waited in line. (Y/N) understood more Spanish than she spoke it but she loved seeing them speak to each other knowing it was a bonding moment for them. Once it was their turn, Ximena’s energy came back in full force and she was once again bouncing and wiggling.
Ximena was beaming and excitedly chattering after they had left the Millennium Falcon and was in her father’s arms once again, asking if they could watch Clone Wars when they got back to the villa. After Pedro had gotten the role of The Mandalorian he had wanted to get Ximena into the Star Wars universe and love it like he did when he was her age but she was too young to understand the films so he decided to start her off with the cartoons, something she loved.
“Wanna go to the shop and look around?” (Y/N) asked, interrupting their conversation.
They nodded and the three of them headed into the store, Ximena pouting when she didn’t see any The Mandalorian things. They hadn’t let her watch the show but she had seen plenty of photos and just like the rest of the world, she had fallen in love with Baby Yoda,
“They don’t have you papá.”
“I know princesa but look they have BB-8!” Pedro directed her attention to the droid.
They had gotten the BB-8 toy, the sales advisor showing them what the toy could do with a floor example. Ximena had the box wrapped in her arms as they left the store when Pedro had an idea.
“Hey ‘mena, how about we take BB-8 out of the box and we take a photo of you and him in front of the Millennium Falcon and send it to tío Oscar?”
Oscar had been the one to get their little girl obsessed with the little droid in the first place, the girl found it absolutely adorable.
“Okay papá!” Ximena skipped to the ship and posed in front of it with a wild smile and BB-8 in her arms. Pedro took the photo and sent it off to Oscar with the caption, ‘This doesn’t mean anything, she still thinks Baby Yoda is cuter.’
“Mamá, I’m hungry.” Ximena whined as they packed the toy away.
“Okay, we’ll get food soon hunnybun, we’ll go to a place close to the villa alright?” (Y/N) ran her fingers through her daughter’s hair before she pressed a kiss to her head.
Ximena nodded, “Have you got any snacks?”
(Y/N) pulled out a granola bar out of her bag and offered it to her daughter, “How about this?”
Ximena nodded and took the snack off her mum and dug in.
“Let’s head back and get some proper food before we go to sleep yeah?” Pedro said.
Ximena took another bite of her granola bar and nodded.
“Do you want papá to carry you?” Pedro asked, the little girl thought about it before she shook her head and took his hand instead.
The family made their way back to the Magical Kingdom, which was the closest theme park to their villa and made their way into a restaurant to finally have dinner. Dinner was like any normal dinner at the Pascal household, filled with high spirits, giggles and happy and full stomachs.
“Papá, what princess can I see tomorrow?” Ximena asked on the way back to the villa.
“What princesses do you want to see?”
“Hmm...Belle!”
“Then we’ll see Belle tomorrow then.”
Ximena grinned up at her father, ecstatic.
As soon as they opened the door to their villa, Ximena had run in and jumped to sit on the couch, her hand reaching for the tv remote.
“Ah! Bath then bed young lady!” (Y/N) told her before she could reach the remote. “Get undressed and take out your pyjamas and I’ll meet you in the bedroom in a bit.”
Ximena whined but listened to her mother and headed towards the bedroom after toeing her shoes off.
(Y/N) kicked off her own shoes and sighed in relief as her feet were finally free, “I can’t wait to take this damn bra off either.”
Pedro laughed and walked over to his wife, “Go deal with our daughter and I’ll make us some tea.”
“Okay.” (Y/N) gave her husband a kiss before making her way to the bedroom.
Twenty minutes later, (Y/N) crept out of the room and slumped onto the couch next to Pedro who was watching a random show on low volume.
“She down?” He asked, turning to face her.
“She started to fall asleep in the tub” (Y/N) laughed.
(Y/N) grunted as she sat up suddenly and after some fiddling with something behind her back, she sighed with relief as she pulled her bra off and chucked it somewhere.
“Feel better?”
“Way better. Bras are hell.”
“You should go without, I wouldn’t mind.” Pedro leant forward and poked one of her boobs causing her to quietly squeal and lean back.
“Of course you wouldn’t you perv” (Y/N) laughed as she knocked his hand away and leant forward to pick up the mug of tea he had made for her.
“Thank you.” She said as she snuggled into his side.
“Don’t worry about it.” Pedro looked down at her, “I love you.”
(Y/N) smiled up at him and kissed him, “I love you too.”

This was so much fun to write and I think it’s a fitting ending for the day. I don’t even know if this is my longest fic word wise in one shot. All together I know FAIY takes that cake (it’s over 100,000 words!!) but this might be the longest one shot I’ve done if I’m not mistaken. ANYWAY I hope you all enjoyed today! I know I did while writing these. Thank you for celebrating with me today! Too many more birthdays! P.S: The Welsh Dragon is an actual drink at the Rose and Crown Pub and I haven’t tried it yet but when I make it back to Epcot I will drink one in your honor ladies and take pictures of it.

“Jack is this really necessary?” you asked as you sat on the couch in the Statesman jet. Jack was readjusting the blindfold over your eyes so that you couldn’t see anything.
“Yes, it’s necessary I don’t want to spoil your surprise. I and Tequila have been working on it for the better part of three months.” he said on a sigh. You sat there shocked not realizing all the work your boyfriend and best friend put into your birthday vacation. Jack had just told you this morning to pack for a warm climate and for a whole weekend with at least one fancy dress. He had then swept you off in the Statesman jet explaining that Tequila would meet you two there since he had to pick up your first birthday surprise.
But now the jet had landed and Jack had immediately put the blindfold over your eyes so that couldn't see. You felt him lean forward and press a soft kiss to your lips. When he pulled away you smiled lovingly.
"What was that for?" You asked softly and he chuckled lightly.
"It's probably gonna be the last time we kiss until later on tonight. You're gonna be quite busy today sweetheart." He said knowingly before pressing another sweet kiss to your lips. "Couldn't help myself." He explained softly and you laughed delighted. His hands then gripped yours and helped you stand. "C'mon then sweetheart I'm gonna slowly walk you out of the jet."
And he did, once you had stepped out the air conditioned jet the heat and humidity hit your body making sweat immediately bead on your skin. Your feet had finally hit the tarmac and Jack easily guided you along. Your hand was tucked in his elbow and you were pressed to his side looking for reassurance in your steps. You could hear voices not far off and when you stepped closer they all stopped talking making you a little self conscious.
"Oh my goodness it's Whiskey!" Came a soft squeal that you knew immediately. Loud groans were heard as your hand came up quickly to whip the blindfold from your face and your eyes took a moment to focus.
"Bubbles! You weren't supposed to ruin it!" Hissed Sparkles and the grin that spread across your face was reflected on five other faces standing only a few feet away from you. Lizzard stood in front and quickly held her arms open. Your grin never ceased as you bolted over to them quickly being engulfed in the group of women. Tears pricked your eyes as they greeted you and wished you a happy birthday. You were being passed from first Lizzard then to Flames who's fiery red hair curled in front of your face making you burst out in a watery chuckle. Then it was Scrubs who held you close as she squealed softly and rocked you from side to side. Bubbles was next and you could hear Tequila muttering behind you.
"It's like their twins, just American and British. Whiskey there's two of them!" His words made both you and Bubbles chuckle happily.
You then turned to Sparkles, who you considered to be the leader of the group, and again with tears in your eyes you hugged her tightly.
"I was hoping for a better bloody surprise but it was ruined." She said kindly and you laughed softly before pulling away.
"Best surprise I've ever gotten." You responded before hugging her once again.
"Well be prepared ladies we've got more surprises yet!" Called Tequila. You turned to look at him without leaving Sparkles arms.
"Where are we?" You asked suddenly.
"Florida." Said Flames matter of factly and Tequila groaned loudly before throwing his hands up.
"That's it! Whiskey you're in charge! It was damn chaos goin' and gettin' them from the airport! It's like herding cats with this group. One wants to go this way, the other wants to take a million pictures, and another just wanted to take it all in! They're a fun group but Jesus, Mary and Joseph! They're gonna give me gray hairs!" Tequila burst out in a rant as his hands gestured to different members of your group. You grinned as you watched Lizzard sidle up next to you and slung an arm around your waist.
"Is he always this bloody dramatic?" She asked low enough for just you and Sparkles to hear making the two of you burst out in laughter.
"Sometimes." You said with a shrug that made the two of them laugh. "Wait a minute?! Are we going to Disney?!" You cried out suddenly and both Whiskey and Tequila turned to you with crestfallen looks.
"It was supposed to be a surprise damnit!" Tequila shouted and threw his hands up again. You pulled away from Sparkles and tugged Tequila into a tight hug.
"You know I don't do well with surprises, but I appreciate the effort. If we're going to Disney you're my bestest best friend ever." You said into his shoulder.
"Yes, we're going to Disney." Tequila said kindly as he hugged you back. "Bestest best friend ever." Squealing you bounced on your toes in his arms.
"Oh! Oh! We have to go on Space Mountain and the Haunted house ride!" You began naming excitedly and Tequila laughed as your excitement began to infect the whole group as you all began talking about what you wanted to do first.
“Alright, alright. Before we start making plans let’s go over a few things.” Whiskey called out over everyone. You all turned to him expectantly and he blinked owlishly at you all. “Okay, so we’ve got dinner reservations at Restaurant Marrakesh at six and I’d like to go get drinks at the Rose and Crown pub beforehand if y’all are alright with that.” You smiled and nodded your head eagerly at him.
“That gives us plenty of time to get some roller coasters and other rides in before we’d head over to the Rose and Crown.” you said knowledgeably. Just as you had finished talking a large black SUV pulled up alongside Whiskey and he smiled as he opened up the back door.
“Alright everyone get in we’ve got just enough time to drive to the park before it opens.” he said with a wide smile. You squealed as you broke away from the group and ran for the car. Pecking Jack on the cheek you quickly climbed in and he chuckled at your enthusiasm.
The drive from the airport wasn’t very long and as you continued to get closer and closer to the park you began to vibrate in your seat in the back. You were sitting up against the window and right next to Scrubs. The whole group of you were figuring out which rides would be best to include everyone so that you all enjoyed yourselves. It was quickly decided that you, Tequila, Lizzard and Flames were the daredevils and would go on at least two roller coasters and then the rest of the rides would be others. You had told them that the must go ons were Pirates of the Carribean, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion, the carousel, and Peter Pan’s Flight. Everything else was up in the air. The one that you refused and immediately took off the table was It’s a Small World, that ride would drive you bonkers for days afterwards and you were not a fan of having that dang song stuck in your head for days on end.
So with that game plan in mind y’all got to the park as early as you possibly could and as you were driving under that all too familiar canopy that led into the park you couldn’t help yourself but grab onto Scrubs in excitement. She grinned over at you and slung her arm around your shoulders.
“Happy Birthday love.” she said softly and hugged you into her side tightly.
“Thanks sweetheart. I’m so glad you’re all here.” you said happily and saw a few of the other girls nodding their heads.
“It was all Whiskey’s idea. He knew it’d be a wonderful surprise for you and got in touch with Sparkles to set it up where we could all come celebrate with you.” Scrubs explained and your eyes darted to the rearview mirror where you saw Whiskey looking back at you. You could feel your cheeks heating up in a blush and saw his wide grin before he winked at you and turned back to the road.
Not long after entering the park area the SUV was directed towards the preferred parking and you smiled knowing that Whiskey was pulling out all the stops for your birthday. Once the car was finally parked you all piled out and walked to the front turnstiles where you’d be checked into the park and your bags would be checked.
You waited patiently as Whiskey picked up all of your tickets and the bands that you all would be wearing while in the park. Once he had gathered them all he began handing them out and you noticed that each band had your favorite princess on it. Smiling you watched as he handed Sparkles her Belle band, Bubbles got Cinderella, Flames was of course Merida, Lizzard was Rapunzel, Scrubs was Jasmine, Tequila was Stitch, Whiskey was Mickey Mouse and you were Minnie Mouse. Once all the girls saw that they all snickered behind their hands and you grinned before sidling up to Whiskey’s side hugging him loosely. He grinned down at you and pressed a soft kiss to your lips while everyone else made obnoxious kissing noises at the two of you. You laughed when you pulled away and grabbed Flames’ hand dragging her towards the Ferry line where everyone followed you.
Your whole group gravitated towards the front of the ferry and stood at the railing waiting for the ferry to leave the dock. Other park goers are filling up the ferry and the whole group moves to stay together and you’re all standing in a group at the railing. When the ferry finally takes off the group is just idly chatting about anything that comes to mind and soon you’re standing next to Sparkles when the far off castle comes into view. Your eyes dart to her face and watch as the joy falls over her face at seeing the castle.
“Oh it’s so pretty.” she says softly and you nod eagerly.
“Wait til you see it up close.” you respond with a grin.
The ferry ride doesn’t take very long to get the actual park and once you’re all out and through the little check in kiosks you’re all gathering in a group as Whiskey grabs a map.
“So which way are we headed to first?” Whiskey asks as he looks at the map.
“Well first we have to go get our ears and then we can head to the rides. But we’re going to go left first and make our way around the park.” you said easily and began leading everyone over to the large gift shop where they made the Mickey ear hats. Once inside the store everyone all gazed around in awe at all the different kinds of Mickey ears. But your eyes immediately landed on the ears that had clear Mickey ears with confetti on them, a birthday cake in the middle of the ears, and the words “Best Birthday Ever” on the front. Picking up a pair of them you quickly moved to the register where you asked to have your name stitched on the backside. As you were going to pay another pair of Mickey ears landed on top of yours and you turned to see Whiskey standing next to you. He had picked up a classic Mickey ears.
“ I’d like to add this to the bill please.” he said easily as he fished out his wallet.
“Whiskey, you don’t have to pay for my ears.” you said softly and he shook his head at you.
“Nonsense, the birthday girl doesn’t pay for anything this weekend while we’re here.” he responded. You all waited as your names were stitched into each of your hats and you laughed brightly when Whiskey swapped his familiar Stetson for his Mickey ears. His arm swung around your shoulder as you continued to laugh and dragged you close to his body before he pressed a soft kiss to your temple. “I love hearing your laughter. I’m glad you’re having fun already.”
“Thank you for all of this. It’s absolutely wonderful.” you said softly to him with a wide grin on your lips. He nodded his head and leaned down to slide his nose against yours gently.
“Alright c’mon you two love birds we’re all done!” called Tequila and you smiled turning to the group waiting by the doors. You watched as each woman had a knowing smirk on their face and you rolled your eyes at them before gripping Whiskey’s hand and pulling him along with you.
Your first stop was in Adventureland where all eight of you got onto the Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride. With two to a compartment you wound up next to Scrubs who demanded that you not lift the carpet into the air, you laughed and held your hands up in surrender. As the ride started Scrubs watched as the others’ carpets all rose in the air and she looked over to you, you shook your head and she sighed softly.
“Only a little bit.” she said and you did as she asked, raising the carpet only a little bit and she smiled widely. Once the ride had stopped Scrubs climbed out and stood close to you. “Thank you.” You smiled happily at her and hooked your arm around hers and began leading the group over to the Pirates’ ride.
The hours sped by quickly and as your group walked into Fantasyland you knew it was going to be your last stop here. Y’all had managed to get fast passes for Space Mountain earlier and had already ridden it so Fantasyland was going to truly be your last stop. As you walked into the Princess Fairytale Hall you could see the exhaustion starting to show on their faces. Tequila was as wired as he was when y’all first walked in and his eyes danced around the room as he walked in but everyone else was starting to look like they were going to crash soon.
You looked over to Whiskey and saw him smile softly at you and you nodded your head at him before stepping closer.
“This is gonna be our last stop for the park. Everyone’s looking worn out.” you said softly and he looked down at you worried.
“Are you sure?” he asked softly and you nodded.
“Yeah, we’ve gone on everything that we planned to and a few other rides. Plus I think once everyone sees where we’re going for drinks they’ll perk up before dinner and the fireworks.” you say with a kind smile on your face.
“Did you get to do everything you wanted sweetheart?” he asked softly and you nodded your head as you wrapped your arms around his waist.
“I did and so much more.” you responded and he grinned down at you before pressing a soft kiss to your lips. Just then a loud squeal filled the air and the two of you pulled apart to see Bubbles excitedly bouncing on her toes as Cinderella walked into the room.
The next hour was spent greeting and talking with each princess and taking photos with all of them. You knew the photos would be momentos that each and everyone of you cherished. Whiskey had even gotten in some of the photos with Tequila which had made you all cackle as since all the princesses swooned over him making Tequila jealous.
Once you were all done with seeing the princesses you led the group over to the train that went around the whole park and you heard a loud audible appreciative groan come from everyone that made you burst into laughter. They were all tired and were ready for a sit down. The train came not long after you all stood in line and as you were standing next to Lizzard you watched her sway a little and you placed a hand on her back.
“Almost there sweetheart. Soon we’ll go drinking in a place that should be familiar to y’all.” you said kindly to her and she grinned over at you before you all boarded the train.
“So this train goes around the whole park?” Flames asked excitedly.
“Yeah but the back area is all woods and you don’t see much.” you explained as you turned in your seat to talk to her. You turned back around when you felt a hand fall onto your right thigh and looked over to see Whiskey smiling at you. You rested your head against his shoulder and just watched as the train traveled along its track.
Once the train had stopped at the main entrance station it had seemed as if your group was rejuvenated a little. Y’all made your way to the exit gates and easily boarded the monorail that was luckily waiting there. You made sure to get on the one that would bring you to Epcot and you all found seats together so that you wouldn’t be separated.
The monorail ride was roughly about half an hour so the group easily caught up with what was their favorite part of the day and the tired smiles slowly began turning into excited happy smiles as everyone was able to rest their tired feet and relax a little bit in the air conditioned rail car. You were sat in between Sparkles and Bubbles as the two of them gazed out of the large windows watching everything that traveled past. When it was time for everyone to leave so that you could enter Epcot everyone got up with an excited energy hanging around the group.
You all went through the check in gates one more time and Whiskey stepped away for a moment as he made a phone call before he came back to the group. He walked next to you and smoothly held your hand with his. Grinning up at him you happily swung your hands in between each other as you led the group into the park.
When you came to stop in front of the Rose and Crown pub you were met with silence before loud squeals filled the air and you were being rushed into the English themed bar and restaurant. You laughed as the whole group of you found a table that would be able to seat you all and everyone grabbed a menu.
“Oh that’s a no brainer.” Scrubs said with a smirk and you grinned over at her as your eyes found the drink you would all be getting. When the waitress came over you smiled politely at her before Flames spoke up.
“Right, all of us ladies are gonna have the Welsh Dragon and Tequila here is gonna Cider and Fireball while Whiskey over there is gonna have Leaping Leprechaun.” she said proudly with a nod of her head. When everyone nodded their heads in agreement the waitress eagerly left to put in your drink orders.
“So Siren, having a good birthday?” asked Bubbles from across the table and you smiled nodding your head.
“It’s the best.” you said and they all laughed as Whiskey adjusted your Mickey ears on your head so they sat straight on your head. When the drinks came you all continued your conversation and time passed slowly as you all just enjoyed your time together in the loud boisterous busy pub. Whiskey looked down at his watch as he finished the last of his drink and then looked up at all of you.
“Alright finish your drinks we’ve got to head over to the restaurant for dinner.” he said adamantly and you all easily finished your drinks.
You felt the excitement fill you as your group walked through your favorite part of the park. It was back here in the Morocco part of the park that your favorite restaurant sat. And while walking through the area you couldn’t help but to admire the detail that Disney had put into making the area feel authentic. Or as authentic as you believed it to be without ever visiting Morocco.
Sitting down at your table you smiled as the dim lighting cast a glow over everyone at the table. You were sitting in between Sparkles and Flames at the head of the table across from Whiskey who sat at the other head of the table. He sent you a wink and you grinned happily. Soon your food and drinks were ordered and everyone was gazing around talking about the decor when you heard the music begin to play. Turning in your seat you watched as a belly dancer came out in the middle of the restaurant and began to dance along to the music. The jingle of the dress around her hips kept in beat with the music and you clapped along as she danced. Everyone was enraptured with her dance moves and when she finished everyone clapped and cheered loudly for her.
Not long after the food came out along with a refill of your drinks. Conversation slowed and you were happy to eat and just look around the table full of your loved ones. This truly was a magical birthday and you couldn’t be more grateful for the people around you.
Suddenly you heard loud singing coming from behind you and you ducked your head sheepishly as grins appeared on every face around you. The wait staff came by with a plate held up with a small desert and candle stuck in the middle. As the singing ended you laughed and blew out your candle as cheers rang out in the air. You shook your head as a blush heated your skin and your eyes darted over to Whiskey across the table who was grinning at you with happy eyes.
“Happy Birthday Siren!” cheered out Sparkles as she held her glass up in the air. Everyone followed suit and you clink your glass with everyone.
Walking out of the restaurant you grabbed onto Whiskey’s wrist and moved it so you could glance at his watch. It read eight thirty. You quickly slipped your fingers in between his and turned to the group.
“So the fireworks start in half an hour. I'd like to get a good spot and I know others will be already lining up around the railings so let’s all go find a spot to watch them.” you instructed easily and the group quickly moved to see if they could all find a spot large enough for everyone. Luckily you didn’t have to go too far to find a big enough spot to view the fireworks and as your group moved in front of the Japan area you quickly found a spot to gather against the railing.
Standing between Lizzard and Tequila you felt arms wrap around your middle and a sturdy chest press to your back. You smiled warmly as you leaned back into Whiskey and he pressed his lips to your ear.
“Did you have a good day?” he asked softly into your ear and grinned nodding your head.
“The best day ever.” you responded as your hands came up to cover his own.
“Good I’m glad.” he whispered into your ear. Soon the sky was darkening and a hush came over the park as everyone waited for the fireworks show to begin. When it did begin everyone gasped in awe at the display of pyrotechnics that lit up the sky. You felt Whiskey’s breath graze against your neck and you felt a peacefulness come over you as your eyes watched the fireworks explode in the sky. “I love you sweetheart.” he whispered into your ear as the finale of the display began and you tilted your head back to look up at him and he grinned leaning down to press his lips to yours in a loving kiss.
“I love you too.” you responded back once you had pulled away as the last firework went off.

your treat : d.d
if you read my little update post from earlier today you’ll know my current situ, but I am trying to be a bit productive from my bed and get at least one or two requests done over the weekend before the week starts over again. hope you enjoy a pure fluffy piece, because fluff is necessary at this current point in time lmao.
work in progress masterlist
Yawning I stretch out in my bed, my feet hanging out of the duvet and I quickly retract them, ensuring I stay as cosy as I am.
“Mornin’“ A quiet voice sounds from my doorway and I turn my head, seeing David stood there with a tray of food.
Sitting upright I move my hair out of my eyes and pinch myself to check I’m not dreaming. “What did you do?” I question as I remain still, my eyes following him as he chuckles. “Or what are you going to do?”
He shakes his head before nudging my legs lightly, allowing me to make room for him to sit back down beside me. “Nothing,” He says hesitantly before patting my leg and heading out of the room. “just get dressed as soon as you’ve eaten, I have a surprise for you.” He explains with a bright smile on his face whilst mine remains cautiously hidden. “You’ll like it, I promise.”
“Sure Dave,” I mutter as I pick up the piece of toast. “you said that about the crocodile in my apartment last time!”
*
Standing by the front door David walks over with his camera in hand and a big grin on his face. “Is this the part where I get blindfolded?” I ask, knowing what his response will be. “Judging on the prolonged silence I’ll go grab my scarf, save you the effort.”
He merely laughs as I blindfold myself and stand, waiting to be guided. “I knew I fell in love you for a good reason.”
“I love you too but you do make me worry about my own safety on multiple occasions.” Reminding him of all the times in the past month alone where I’ve almost had a heart attack he smiles, reminiscing on those ‘good’ days I considered hell.
Holding my hand he guides me into his car and quickly we’re driving somewhere. “Is this to do with the other night?” I speak up, biting my lip. “Because I said I was sorry I didn’t know it was your personal favourite jumper of mine.” I half laugh and hear him moan quietly.
“I told you on multiple occasions how much I loved that jumper, it smells like you.” He mumbles and I feel my heart leap out of my chest. “But no, this is not because you burned it.”
I raise my hand hoping it is pointing in his direction, but then I feel him move my arm to point to him. “Firstly, thank you. And secondly, I was lighting candles and it accidentally caught on fire.” I huff loudly before crossing my arms and closing my eyes. “Can you wake me up when we’re there?” I say through a loud yawn and drift off to the sound of the music playing through the speakers.
Feeling my arm being shaken lightly I turn my head as my eyes remain covered by the grey fabric restricting my view on where we are. “We’re here, well, we’re at the first stop at least.” David states and I raise an eyebrow, clearly confused. “I’ll explain it all shortly, don’t take it off yet okay?” He asks and I nod, complying to what he asks.
As he helps me out of the car I can hear the sound of wheels on pavements, a lot of people rushing and cars beeping at one another. Leaning against the car I wait for David to return, his reassuring gentle touch to let me know I’m okay.
“Dave?” I call out, feeling more anxious as I drown out into the sounds of everyone and the noises that surround me as opposed to the sound of his soothing voice. “Dave?” I ask more desperately this time and hear his feet moving quickly.
“Hey, I’m right here.” He says softly. “I’ll take the blindfold off now, okay?”
Keeping my eyes closed I feel his fingers gently touching my cheeks and sliding the scarf off of my face. “Shall I open my eyes now?” I ask as I rub my lips together, unsure if I want to know where we are yet.
A small giggle sounds from next to me and I open my eyes.
Blinking rapidly I adjust to the brightness of being outside, but also confusion forms in my expression as I turn to face David. “Why are we at the Airport?”
“Because,” He moves closer, resting his hands on my waist as he smiles down at me. “I am taking you somewhere special for your birthday.”
My heart drops as I realise what is happening and I cover my mouth with my hand to prevent an ugly sound escaping my lips. “We are?” I mumble through my hand as he pulls me closer into a hug and I can feel how fast his heart is beating as my head rests against his chest.
“Yeah,” He says softly as one hand reaches up, caressing my hair. “we’re going to Disney.”
Immediately I start crying and I groan as I pull away, “I don’t know why I’m even crying, god.” I complain as I wipe my face, but David keeps his big brown eyes on mine and his smile permanently etched into his expression.
“I still think you look beautiful.” He says quietly before kissing me softly. “We should check in though, flights in like two hours.”
*
Holding his hand tightly I struggle to contain my excitement as I see the castle up ahead. “Oh my god.” I squeal as I turn around with a huge smile plastered across my face as David chuckles at my eagerness. “It’s the castle!”
“I thought you wanted breakfast first?” He questions through a yawn but I shake my head.
“Food can wait, this is for seven year old me right now.” I tell him as I recall the night we watched Disney films in a Tipi. We were talking about things we wanted to do as a child but never had the chance to.
Obviously, mine was to go to Disneyland and experience it all for the magical place it was. A dream come true at long last. “Okay, I’ll get a good shot for you.” He calls out as we approach the castle and he takes a series of pictures for me before he stops a couple and asks them to take some of us.
Standing with David by my side in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle is a dream I didn’t realise would come true. “Happy birthday, Y/n.” He says sweetly before kissing me and once we get the camera back we notice the perfectly captured photo of the two of us in Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears kissing with the castle out of the focus behind us.
“Come on, I wanna go meet Mickey Mouse!” I call out as he takes his hand in mine and we head towards the castle in search of more.

Anything Your Heart Desires Will Come to You
This story is somewhat of a sequel to this one I wrote awhile ago, but it can stand on it’s own. I just wanted to write about Charlotte going to Disney World, since she wasn’t able to go on Lefou and Stanley’s last trip with her brother and sister... This time Gaston tags along too!
I struggled with this story more than anything I’ve ever written, but after days weeks months of fighting with it, and I even seriously considered scrapping it a few times, I think I can finally say it is finished. 100% family fluff because that is my jam and I hope it is yours as well.
Being born in the middle of first semester meant Charlotte’s birthdays often went by without much of a fuss. Quiet dinners, a small (or as small as a family such as hers could accomplish) party if it fell over a weekend.
But last November, Charlotte Mae Durand-Lefou had turned twenty-one years old.
No one wanted to admit it out loud, but not many people thought she would make it this far. Between her endless hospital stays, and more surgeries than anyone her age should have to endure, twenty-one seemed like an even bigger milestone than it was to everyone else.
Still. She had college degree to obtain. So, once again, her birthday went by with a nice dinner (featuring her first - doctor-approved - adult beverage) with both sides of her family, complete with Michelle singing an endless chorus of “Happy Birthday”, while Barney tipped off the waitresses to join her.
Now, it was early May, the weather was warm and Charlotte didn’t have a care in the world. She’d completed the school year with good grades, didn’t have to think about exams or reports for a few months, and still had two weeks of freedom before her summer internship began.
In honor of her twenty-first half birthday, her father agreed to take her and the family on any trip she wanted… within reason. Michelle was still only six, after all.
Despite her love for princess movies and countless Mickey Mouse t-shirts, Charlotte had never been to Disney World.
Which is why today Charlotte was checking her reflection one final time as she placed her Minnie Mouse headband over her unruly hair. She may have accomplished reaching adulthood, but that didn’t mean she couldn't spend a week with her family (and her favorite Uncle Gaston) embracing her inner child.
Michelle was running up and down the halls of their hotel, her Little Mermaid backpack bouncing on her shoulders as her family dragged the bulk of their luggage into their rooms. At six years old, she didn’t fully understand the responsibility of “carry your own bag, Michelle!” Lefou shook his head as he watched his daughter practically float in excitement before swiping the room key to his and Stanley’s room. “Michelle, honey, over here.” Michelle skipped back to the rest of her family and leaped past them to bounce on the bed. “Papa, this bed is huge!” “That’s because they knew there’d be a little girl trying to destroy it,” Lefou teased, finally releasing his grip on his suitcase, Michelle’s suitcase, and his backpack. He let out a sigh of relief as the weight was lifted from his aching body. It had been a long day of travel and he couldn’t wait to put his feet up and rel- “WHEN ARE WE GONNA GO TO DISNEY WORLD, PAPA?” Lefou let out a breath. He should have known better. “We just got here, Michelle,” Stanley appeared behind them, relieving himself of his own luggage. “Take a breather.” “I wanna see Ariel,” Michelle whined. The mere thought of visiting a theme park after spending so long in transit exhausted Lefou. He didn’t know where children got their energy, but he envied their apparent never-ending supply. He had to get his in the form of caffeine... he thought he saw a coffee shop downstairs... “We will, just relax,” Stanley laughed, pushing open the door to the adjoining room, where Charlotte and Michelle would be staying. Barney had managed to convince Gaston to allow him to stay in his room across the hall to not have to share with his sisters. Michelle – who was usually found attached to Charlotte’s hip whenever the latter was around – caught sight of her sister unpacking some of her things and jumped off her parents’ bed with an impressive thud on the carpet to run through the doorway. “Is this my bed, Charlotte?” Michelle asked, and Lefou saw her climb onto one of the beds, before hopping across to the other. The girl had boundless energy and it wore him out just to watch her sometimes. “Pick whichever you want,” Charlotte said. Michelle flopped onto her back on the bed closest to the window, seeming to test out the mattress. “I think I want this one...” “Alright then I’ll take the other o-” Charlotte turned around to see Michelle, flat on her back, arms sprawled on either side of her, eyes shut and sleeping soundly. “How did she fall asleep so fast?” Charlotte peered through the doorway to look at Lefou in disbelief. Lefou shrugged, as he heard Stanley chuckle behind him. “She’s like a battery... she just keeps going and going...” “Until she stops.”
Lefou was simultaneously juggling a handful of tickets (as no one else could be trusted with such responsibility) and doing a head count as he led his small parade of family members through the front gate of the theme park. Stanley stood next to him, his nose deep in a map. He had spent most of their last trip in a similar position, and soon enough he would probably be pulling a bottle of sunscreen from his backpack insisting everyone lather up. Gaston had Michelle balanced on his shoulders to keep her from running off in her excitement; Barney was hovering behind them from a distance, pretending that fifteen was far too old to be on a Disney vacation with his family. Lefou knew he’d warm up to the idea soon enough. … and then there was Charlotte. She may have been legally an adult – as difficult as her father found it to believe – but she was looking around the park with a look of awe and wonder usually reserved for small children seeing snow or fireworks for the first time. Lefou stayed away from theme parks during her childhood. He didn’t want to disappoint her when she discovered most of the rides were forbidden for those with heart conditions such as hers, but this was her choice... and he soon realized he may have made a mistake keeping her from it. There were still plenty of things she could enjoy this week. “It’s even more amazing in person,” She muttered under her breath as she looked to Cinderella’s castle.
Lefou smiled as he watched his daughter take everything in. If he was honest, he never got tired of seeing the castle, himself. “It’s pretty great, isn’t it?” Stanley asked, as he finally tore his eyes away from the map to follow her gaze. “It’s unbelievable,” Charlotte said, with a small nod of her head.
Normally, Lefou would have taken a photo of such a precious sight, such a beautiful expression on her face… but not only were his hands too full to root through his pockets to find his phone, but he soon realized part of the magic that Disney so often promised was being present in the moment.
To his parents, a trip to Disney meant a week with the family, a few dorky kiddie rides, matching family outfits… Their choice today was a Finding Nemo theme, with Lefou and Charlotte sporting orange and white to be Marlin and Nemo, respectively, Stanley wore blue to be Dory, Michelle was wearing a pink dress and cheering “aww, you guys made me ink!” every few minutes, even Gaston had been talked into wearing green and brown to be Crush, and finally, Barney wore a yellow shirt that Charlotte had insisted on emblazoning “I’M OBNOXIOUS” across the front in permanent marker.
Stanley said it was a rather fitting quote.
… but to Barney, a trip to Disney meant more than matching costumes. It meant thrill rides (the Haunted Mansion was his favorite) and most importantly, the snacks. There was something about food in the shape of cartoon mice that just tasted better.
They’d hardly walked through the front entrance before he was begging Stanley for a few dollars to buy popcorn. His dad was something of a pushover when it came to the kids, and easily relented. Now, while they were headed towards the Finding Nemo show that Michelle insisted on seeing, Barney spotted a Mickey pretzel cart and he wanted nothing more than to partake in one.
He rummaged through his pockets for the spare change he’d accumulated from all his earlier snacking, and managed to come up with enough for two pretzels. He figured he would treat his Papa since he was the only one willing to wait behind as the others charged ahead toward the theater.
“If you keep eating like this, you might actually have to start buying shirts in a size medium,” Lefou teased, poking Barney’s skinny arm, before taking one of the pretzels from him.
Barney rolled his eyes, as he bit into an ear. “I’m a growing man, Papa.”
“I don't know what you're talking about,” Lefou said. “I still see that tiny little thing hardly more than six pounds in the nursery when I see you.”
“Papa.”
“A little taller now, I'll give you that.”
Barney opened his mouth to reply when they reached the theater. “Ooh, can we get some popcorn? It's not a show without popcorn!”
“Bartholomew, you still have a massive pretzel in your hand.”
“What if I promise to share with Michelle?”
Lefou sighed, before handing Barney his wallet.
Charlotte and Michelle were on a mission. They were determined that over the course of their visit, they would meet every princess they possibly could. Michelle met Ariel on their last trip, and in the two years since, had spoken of little else. Barney had dragged Gaston to ride one of the bigger rides that his sisters couldn’t, so they began their quest, with Lefou and Stanley hovering behind, making sure Michelle stayed within eyesight… They trusted Charlotte, but Michelle could be a handful. “Keep an eye out, Michelle,” Charlotte was holding the younger girl’s hand. “Poofy dresses and dainty voices are a dead giveaway for princesses.” “What does ‘dainty’ mean?” Michelle asked, taking her role of "lookout” very seriously. “Watch ‘Snow White,” Charlotte said. “You’ll understand.” Only a moment later, Michelle’s voice rang out in the busy crowd, “IT’S AURORA!” “We found one!” Charlotte said, laughing at Michelle’s enthusiasm. There wasn’t much of a line to see their princess, and in no time Michelle was falling into the arms of Aurora. “Oh, my, hello there, Princess!” Aurora greeted with a chuckle, trying not to topple over from the force of Michelle’s hug. “How are you today?” “I’m good,” Michelle said, politely, as she pulled away. “Charlotte and me are gonna meet all of the princesses today!” Aurora flashed her a smile. “Is that so?” “Yep! You’re our first stop.” “Well, I’m honored,” Aurora said, looking past Michelle’s head to her family. “Then this must be Charlotte?” “It is!” Michelle said, excitedly, as Charlotte walked up to the princess and gave her a hug of her own. Lefou managed to snap a picture of the sweet exchange, pleased to see both of his daughters involved in the magic together. “Are you friends with Ariel?” Michelle asked. “You know what?” Aurora said, “I am. I think I saw her swimming around somewhere today. I bet you could still catch her if you look really hard.” Michelle’s excitement was contagious as she squealed at the thought of meeting Ariel again. She liked Sleeping Beauty well enough, but nothing would ever hold a candle to The Little Mermaid in her mind. “What about you, Princess?” Aurora turned to Charlotte, who turned slightly pink at the nickname. “Do you have anyone you would like to meet?” “Oh, I’m just happy to meet you,” Charlotte said, honestly. Lefou knew that Mulan was her favorite princess movie, but she was a fan of them all. “I’m flattered,” Aurora said, putting a hand to her chest. “You’re both so sweet. I can’t wait to tell Phillip about you two! Now tell me, is there a prince in your life?” She glanced over Charlotte’s shoulder to see Lefou and Stanley. “... or perhaps a princess?” If Charlotte was pink before, she was magenta now. “There might be... uh, a prince, that is.” Stanley, who’d just taken a swig from his water bottle began to cough. “... Excuse me?” Aurora giggled a delicate laugh behind her hand as Lefou pounded his husband on the back while he spluttered to get him to breathe properly again. “Did you know that?” Stanley hissed into Lefou’s ear as the girls continued to talk to Aurora. “Not exactly,” Lefou admitted. “But she’s twenty-one, so I can’t say I’m surprised.” “She’s too young.” Stanley insisted. He didn’t even know Charlotte until she was twelve, but he had fully accepted her as his daughter to the point where he was apparently scandalized by the thought of her having a boyfriend. Lefou decided not to tell him of all the times Charlotte had mentioned her dates in the past. “She’s an adult,” Lefou corrected. “By the time I was her age... she was already born.” “That isn’t exactly easing my state of mind,” Stanley grumbled as they watched the girls give Aurora one last hug before waving goodbye. “Sorry, Dad,” Charlotte said, as they began to walk away. “I didn’t mean to give you a heart attack back there.” Lefou snorted. “He’ll get over it if we buy him a churro.”
“Did someone say ‘churro?” A familiar voice asked from behind them. They turned around to see Barney, now sporting a smile and Gaston who looked a little green in the face. “Those rides were a lot more fun before I turned forty,” Gaston muttered, steadying himself on the handle of the wheelchair Charlotte used if she tired from walking too much. “You aren't suggesting we're getting old, are you?” Lefou asked, steering them in the direction of the churro line. Between this, the Mickey-shaped ice cream Barney insisted on, and the bucket of popcorn Stanley had refilled three times already, he was sure he was gaining a few extra pounds this week. “Never,” Gaston said, before turning to Charlotte. “Well, bud, what’s next?”
“Michelle and I are still on the hunt for more princesses,” Charlotte said, as Stanley handed her a churro. “Maybe there’s one out here for you, Uncle Gaston.” “If he hasn’t found one yet, I think it may be a lost cause,” Barney snorted. “Oh, really?” Charlotte said with a smirk. “... maybe for you, then?” Barney’s freckles appeared even more prominent on his face as he blushed… or maybe that was just the sunburn. “There’s Tiana, Daddy!” Michelle said, pulling on Stanley’s hand and pointing across the way. “You’re right,” Stanley agreed. “Barney, maybe this is your shot!”
Barney grumbled under his breath, his pale face now just as red as his hair.
Lefou couldn't help but laugh at his son’s disgruntled face. He wrapped an arm around Barney’s shoulder as they watched Michelle give Tiana one of her signature bear hugs.
“Oh, Bartholomew,” He sighed, as Tiana complimented Michelle on her dress, before greeting Charlotte. “I must say, you could do worse than a princess.”
Barney shrugged his father’s arm off his shoulder, but Lefou could see the smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Charlotte?” Tiana gasped, once Charlotte had introduced herself. “Why, that’s my best friend’s name! Are you sure that's not you, Lottie?”
Charlotte laughed, as she shook her head. “I’m not interested in kissing any frogs, I’m afraid.”
“Well, that's a relief,” Stanley muttered from beside Lefou. “At least she's not kissing him.”
“Maybe he's already turned into a prince,” Lefou teased, reaching over to squeeze his husband’s hand.
“Lefou!”
Tiana offered to take a picture with the group, and while Lefou was usually behind the camera, Gaston offered to hold it to make a family photo of it.
“Say… uh, ‘frog’, I guess?” Gaston said, as the family crowded around the princess and flashed their smiles.
“Uh, frog, I guess!”
Gaston only groaned as he snapped the picture.
As they walked away, Charlotte leaned into Barney’s side. “So, what did you think of her? I bet I could get you her number. My name is Charlotte, after all. I have connections.”
Barney retorted with something Lefou was glad Michelle didn’t overhear.
Late afternoon was setting in and Michelle was getting cranky.
To counter her mood, Charlotte plopped her in the wheelchair and was pushing her towards the “It’s a Small World” ride for the third time that day. Charlotte was able to ride that one, and even though Lefou would have rather done anything but listen to that song for another fifteen minutes, he would never refuse her. “And here we thought she outgrew strollers,” Stanley commented as Michelle giggled when Charlotte hit a bump. “It can be fun to be pushed around,” Charlotte admitted, as they approached the line. Charlotte didn’t often use her chair, and it was mostly used to carry their bags, but Lefou could tell she was getting a little winded and may need to trade with her sister soon. “Do you want to sit down?” Lefou asked. Charlotte sighed, seeming to admit defeat. As much as she didn’t like to use it, insisting she was well enough to go without, it had been a long day, and they would be in this line for awhile. “Michelle, sweetie, can you stand up?” Stanley asked, reaching down to lift her out. “No, no, she’s fine,” Charlotte scooped her sister out of the chair, before falling into it, Michelle settled on her lap. The younger girl looked close to a nap. “Are you sure she’s okay there?” Stanley asked. “She gets heavy after awhile.” “She’s alright,” Charlotte said, letting out a breath. Lefou took over pushing the wheelchair as the line moved forward. “Do we really have to go on this one again?” Barney asked. “I think I’ll have this song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.” “The week,” Gaston corrected. “The month.” “The year.” “My life.” “I like the song,” Michelle chimed in, sleepily. “Do you now?” Stanley asked, throwing a mischievous glance in Barney and Gaston’s direction. “... Can you remind me how it goes again?” Michelle perked up a bit as she began a chorus of “it’s a small world after all...” “Dad,” Barney whined as Gaston let out a groan. “Just trying to keep a kid entertained for the next half an hour,” Stanley said, a little too innocently. “... it’s a small world after all!”
Their day ended a little earlier than they’d anticipated. Lefou always loved to watch the fireworks show at Disney, but they had another few days for that. Michelle had fallen into a heavy sleep, trapping Charlotte (who was also getting a little worn out) in her chair, and Barney’s combination of roller coasters and absurd amount junk food made him sick, putting him in a sour mood for the rest of the day. The sun hadn’t even begun to set yet, but they decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel. “I’d say that was a pretty successful first day,” Stanley said. He was sprawled out on the bed in their hotel room, scrolling through the pictures he’d taken on his phone that day. Michelle was curled up next to him, her pigtails in disarray, bangs plastered to her forehead. She had sticky ice cream residue on her dress, and Lefou saw a hint of sunburn on her cheeks. She was cuter than ever. Charlotte was resting in the room next door, while Gaston and Barney went downstairs to check out the hotel pool. Lefou couldn’t imagine swimming after a day like today, but he’d never been nearly as athletic as they were. He’d swim later. He fell onto the bed, taking care not to wake his daughter, before flipping on the TV. “Successful indeed,” Lefou agreed, flipping through the channels. “We wore Michelle out, at the very least.” “She’s not the only one,” Stanley said, hiding a yawn behind his hand. Lefou checked his watch. “There’s still an hour and a half before the dinner reservation.” With that, Stanley scooted down on the bed, fluffing the pillow a bit before closing his eyes. Unsatisfied with the choices on TV, Lefou shrugged and laid down on his own pillow, and in no time they were both asleep, Michelle snuggled up between them.
The next day was somehow even muggier than the previous afternoon, and it was still early.
Lefou was already drenched in a layer of sweat, and could feel himself growing more irritable by the minute. He didn't want to spend his vacation in such a foul mood, but if they didn't find air conditioning quickly, he might just melt into a puddle like that talking snowman in Frozen.
Stanley took the girls off to meet a few more characters, while Lefou and Gaston took Barney to ride the Haunted Mansion for what was sure to be the first of many times. Since it was his favorite ride in the park, they always made a point of hitting it at least once, and the line had been too long the day before.
Barney walked ahead of the adults, impatient to reach the line as soon as possible. Lefou and Gaston trailed behind, talking among themselves.
“He acts so high and mighty sometimes,” Lefou chuckled, as he watched Barney try and keep from racing too far ahead, “but look how sweet he is when he cuts the act.”
“Don’t you remember being a fifteen year old boy?” Gaston asked. “Between puberty, parties and wooing girls, you’re lucky he wants to spend a week with his old man at all.”
Lefou let out a dry laugh. “Our teen years were vastly different, my friend… and as much as I appreciate you, I hope my son doesn't go quite as crazy as you did.”
“I have to agree with you there,” Gaston said, honestly.
“Come on, you guys!” Barney called back to them. “We’re almost there!”
They were now at the entrance, and Lefou watched as Barney allowed a mother and her young child to cut in front of him before they entered the line.
“That was awfully nice of you,” Lefou commented.
Barney shrugged. “She was really little. I guess I could wait a little longer.”
No, Lefou didn't have anything to worry about.
“Okay, who’s thirsty?” Lefou and Charlotte were balancing handfuls of souvenir mugs in their hands, before carefully placing one in front of each family member.
“Do I want to know what you spent on the specialty drinks, love?” Stanley asked, taking a sip.
“Probably not,” Lefou admitted, falling into the seat next to his husband. He pulled his own cup close to his face, inspecting it. It was brown, with a rustic feel to it, but he couldn't identify the characters on the side. A handsome, rather muscular fellow in a red coat, and a squat little man with a large, pink nose.
“I don’t know who they are, but this guy is ugly,” Barney said, pointing at the smaller character on the side of his mug.
“Just think,” Stanley said, rolling his eyes. “Since Papa undoubtedly spent a fortune on these, we get to keep them forever.”
“I hope they stay in the back of the cupboard.”
“Actually, Papa,” Charlotte said. “I'm not sure why, but this guy has always reminded me a bit of you…”
“Should I be offended?” Lefou asked, taking a sip. Maybe it was a little expensive for a glorified cup of apple juice…
“I don't think so,” Charlotte said. “The other guy reminds me of Uncle Gaston.”
Gaston looked pleased at this fact.
“Do you know what movie he’s from, Char?” Barney asked. “I’ve seen his picture around, but I can't figure out who it is.”
“You mean you’ve never seen-”
Before Charlotte could finish her answer, Michelle let out a shriek, her pricey apple juice now spilled all over her dress.
Stanley sighed, before reaching into his backpack for his pack of trusty wet wipes.
Even though she wasn't his daughter, Charlotte had been a big part of Gaston’s life ever since she was born. He had spent many of his college days at Lefou’s apartment, holding that tiny little girl against his shoulder, wondering how he ever got to the point where his friends were having babies, and wondering if someday he’d have one or seven of his own to coddle.
Now his favorite Little Buddy wasn't so little anymore. Twenty-one years older, and was tall and smart and everything Gaston had hoped she would turn into, plus some.
He watched Charlotte fall into her wheelchair, pulling Michelle into her lap as Barney pushed them around. He loved each of his little “nieces and nephew”.
“Disney magic making you emotional?” Lefou asked, handing Gaston a bottle of water. “You look lost in thought… which is strange for you.”
Gaston chuckled. “A dangerous pastime indeed. No, I was just thinking about-”
Before he could finish his answer, Charlotte let out a gasp and then a snort.
“Oh, I am so getting a picture with him,” She said, pushing herself out of her chair, and taking Michelle’s hand.
She led their group a little farther down until they met her destination. Gaston never saw the thrill in meeting the characters at Disney World. They were just people in costumes, what was so exciting?
Upon closer inspection, he noticed this must be the man who was on their drinks earlier that afternoon.
A large man with padded muscles and a long black ponytail gave a charming smile as they approached.
“Well, hello there,” He greeted. “What brings you here to see me today?”
Charlotte was the only one who was familiar with this character, so the rest of the family hovered behind as she spoke to him.
“I just had to meet everyone's favorite guy,” Charlotte said, her smile growing wide. “Rumor has it there's no man in town half as manly.”
Even though Gaston didn’t know who he was, Charlotte was obviously smitten.
“Perfect, a pure paragon.” The man said with a wink.
“Now, who do you have with you today?” The man took in the crowd of people behind Charlotte.
“My dad, my other dad, my brother, Barney, my sister, Michelle, and my…,” Charlotte snorted again before continuing, “Uncle Gaston.”
The man’s eyes darkened as he looked Gaston up and down.
“Uncle Gaston, you say?” He crossed his arms as Gaston took a step closer.
“That's what they call me,” Gaston said, furrowing his brow. Just because he didn't know who this guy was, didn’t mean he was about to feel threatened by a children's character.
The man took another step closer. “You look like a strong guy, Monsieur.”
Gaston flexed his muscles (he could practically feel Lefou rolling his eyes behind him), and a smirk of his own crept over his features.
“Not nearly as much as me, of course.”
Gaston felt his face fall. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
The other man flexed his arm, that annoyingly handsome smirk still tugging on the corner of his mouth. “I just mean I'm the strongest guy here.”
“Sounds like a challenge, doesn't it, Gaston?” Stanley taunted from behind them.
Gaston turned back to see him and Barney trying not to laugh at the interaction with this mystery character.
“A challenge?” The man let out a hoot of laughter. “This guy would hardly be a challenge… but I'm always ready for some healthy competition. How are you at push-ups?”
Gaston threw his head to either side, resulting in a series of crackling noises, before falling on all fours. “Oh, you're on!”
It was late, and Charlotte was sitting on Lefou and Stanley’s bed, snuggled up to her father’s side with the TV turned low, the light casting shadows across their faces in the dark room.
Stanley was asleep in the chair near the window, Barney passed out on the floor, and Michelle curled up like a cat at the foot of the bed. Their day had ended after watching the parade, Gaston heading to bed as soon as they arrived back at the hotel - still a little huffy about losing his little competition against the buff character.
Charlotte and Lefou were the only ones still awake to finish their movie, despite their own exhaustion. Charlotte yawned as she laid her head against Lefou’s shoulder. Michelle may have watched this movie hundreds of times due to her love for all things underwater, but Finding Nemo was really Charlotte’s movie with her papa.
When she was younger, she didn't understand why her father cried so much when watching a movie about animated fish in a dentist’s office, but as she got older, she began to realize.
It couldn't have been easy on him (or her mother, of course) when Charlotte was born. He became a single dad so quickly, only for his child to come out with some serious health issues. Charlotte absentmindedly ran her fingers over the large scar across her chest. It had been a source of insecurity for a long time, but she’d learned to embrace it, and it didn't bother her anymore. She didn’t even mind when Michelle asked questions if she wore a lower neckline.
She watched as Nemo swam with his lucky fin and she knew this is why her father loved the movie so much. It was just her and her papa against the world for so long, much like Marlin and Nemo… and like Nemo, she could have gotten lost.
Lefou stroked her hair - a mess after spending a long day out in the humidity - gently as they continued to watch. It was nearly over now.
Michelle rolled over, jostling the bed a bit.
It wasn’t only her and her father anymore. Now she had a full life with a big, loving family.
Barney let out a snort in his sleep, as Nemo and Marlin were reunited again.
Charlotte nestled even closer under Lefou’s arm and closed her eyes as the credits began to roll. She thought she heard him sniffle, but chose not to bring attention to it for once.
Despite the dozens of times she had seen the movie, for the first time, she felt herself get a little choked up as well.
It could have been so much worse. She could have been lost.
Thankfully - like Marlin - she knew her papa would always be there to find her.
Another reason Gaston tagged along for the trip, was because Stanley and Lefou’s wedding anniversary happened to fall in the middle of their vacation. They didn't make extravagant plans for the occasion, but they did want a little alone time to celebrate their nine years of marriage together.
Stanley pressed a kiss against his husband’s sleeping forehead to rouse him. It was early, but Stanley always struggled to sleep in past six, even on vacation. He was already showered, and his breath tasted of mint toothpaste.
“Morning, love!” Stanley greeted, cheerily.
His husband - who much less of a morning person - mumbled something, his face smashed into the pillow.
“Happy anniversary,” Stanley tried again, poking Lefou’s cheek, his coarse facial hair scratching at his hand. “Can you believe it?”
Lefou rolled over, his face no longer in the pillow, but it was now marked with pink wrinkle indents. “Believe what?”
Stanley situated himself against the headboard as Lefou groped the nightstand for his glasses. “Nine years, Lefou… that’s a long time.”
“You're making us sound old,” Lefou teased.
Stanley chuckled, pressing another kiss into Lefou’s hair. “Do you think Gaston will be able to handle the kids today?”
“He said he’ll take them to Disney Springs,” Lefou said, snuggling up to Stanley's side. “I’m sure they'll be too busy looking at souvenirs to act up.”
“That will keep them busy for awhile, then,” Stanley said. “Which is good because I have plans for us this evening.”
“Is that so?” Lefou asked, a smirk crossing his face.
Stanley nodded, a grin of his own spreading across his lips. “I’m taking my man out for a nice, perhaps overpriced dinner, have a drink or two, and then we can, um, come back here for awhile.”
Lefou snorted, and opened his mouth to make what was sure to be a witty retort, when they heard a (rather violent) knock originate from the door between their bedroom and the girls’ room.
“Sounds like Michelle is awake,” Lefou chuckled, as Stanley untangled himself from his spouse to unlock the door.
He cracked it open to reveal their youngest daughter, waving a folded piece of purple construction paper in the air.
“Happy anniversary, Daddy!”
“Good morning… Let’s see what you have there,” Stanley plucked the card from her hand, and brought it over to the bed for Lefou to see, Michelle close on his heels.
Lefou took the card and read it aloud, squinting as he tried to decipher the spelling of a six-year-old. It was a sweet note with a cute little drawing of their family, Lefou and Stanley holding hands in the middle. At the bottom of the card, Michelle had even convinced Charlotte and Barney to sign it.
“Thank you, darling, I’ll be sure to put it in my book when we get home.” Lefou said, kissing Michelle’s head. He kept all the cards and drawings his children made for him in a scrapbook he often liked to page through. He still had the first wobbly drawing of flowers Charlotte made for him when she was hardly more than two.
“What do we do on anniversaries?” Michelle asked, wedging herself between her parents in the bed.
Lefou laughed. “Daddy and I are going to dinner tonight, no kids allowed.”
“No kids allowed” were three of Michelle’s least favorite words, and she made her opinion known with a disgruntled noise.
“But you get to spend the day with Uncle Gaston, and your brother and sister,” Stanley pointed out.
Michelle's response was a much cheerier noise.
Before long, there was another knock at the door, this time it was Barney, asking if Michelle wanted to go downstairs for some breakfast.
Michelle's noise was the happiest of all for the promise of sugary cereal was better than anything else Stanley or Lefou could have said.
“Are you coming too?” Michelle asked, once she had reached the door and opened it, revealing her brother, still in his Superman pajama pants, and sporting an impressive case of bed-head.
“We’ll be down in a bit,” Lefou said. “Go on ahead.”
Michelle slammed the door behind her, and Lefou let out a laugh. “I love that girl more than anything, but she has far too much energy for seven o'clock in the morning.”
“Shopping, shopping, shopping,” Michelle sang as Gaston hoisted her onto his shoulders. Disney Springs was crowded tonight, and he knew her well enough to know she had a habit of running off when something interesting caught her eye.
Barney and Charlotte were beside him, debating on which restaurant was the best one to stop at for dinner, while Michelle was insistent to find something to add to her ever growing Little Mermaid collection. Gaston was just hoping to keep them out of their parents’ hair long enough for them to finish whatever they had planned for the evening… Perhaps he didn't want to know what they had planned, exactly.
“Ooh, let's stop here!” Michelle said, pointing her finger in the direction of one of the shops.
Gaston was starving, and was really hoping Charlotte and Barney would make up their minds soon so they could get something to eat, but he supposed they could make a detour while they decided.
He led them into the store, and placed Michelle on the floor. “Stay close to us, you.”
Michelle nodded, before taking Barney’s hand and leading him toward the back of the building.
“I guess she saw something she liked,” Charlotte snorted, before wandering off to browse the shelves herself.
Gaston headed to the opposite end of the shop, wondering if there was anything with antlers to add to his own house. The Bambi stuffed animal Michelle brought home for him after her last trip still sat proudly in his room.
“UNCLE GASTON!” Michelle’s voice rang throughout the store, causing a few people to look in her direction.
Gaston sighed.
Michelle weaved her way through the shelves (and customers) until she reached him, holding something red in her arms.
“It’s Sebastian,” She explained, offering Gaston the large stuffed toy. “He goes with my Flounder! Can I get him? Pleeeease?”
Gaston never was able to refuse the kids what they wanted, at least not when they gave him those big doe-eyes.
“You’re sure this is what you want?” Gaston asked, peering at the price tag… Well, at least Lefou had paid for his plane ticket.
“I do, I do, I do!” Michelle bounced on the balls of her feet, hugging Sebastian tightly.
“Alright, then,” Gaston chuckled, as Charlotte found her way back to them.
“I think I found an anniversary present for Papa and Stan,” She said, displaying a little snowglobe with Donald and Daisy Duck on the inside. Lefou collected snowglobes, and Stanley did love Ducktales.
“It’s perfect,” Michelle declared, giving her nod of approval.
“I like it too,” Barney agreed.
“Anything catching your eye, Barney?” Gaston asked, pulling his wallet from his pocket as they made their way to the cashier.
“Yeah,” Barney said. “The restaurant across the street… wait, is that a Mad Hatter hat?”
Splash
Barney pulled his head above water, shaking droplets out of his hair like a dog when he resurfaced.
“Hey,” Charlotte wiped her face dry with the back of her hand, where Barney had apparently splashed her with the force of his cannonball into the hotel pool.
“It’s a pool, Charlotte,” Barney laughed, using his hand to splash her intentionally this time. “You’re supposed to get wet!”
“I know, but my hair takes forever to dry,” Charlotte said, as Michelle floated by them, her goggles falling down her face.
Before Barney could retort, an even bigger splash soaked all three of them, this time Gaston was the culprit.
Charlotte sighed, wiping her face again.
“When’re Daddy and Papa gonna come in?” Michelle giggled, as Gaston pulled her from the water, before throwing her back in, her arm floaties causing her to bob like a buoy.
“Right about now,” Stanley said, walking into the pool room, and placing his towel on a table, Lefou close behind.
Michelle cheered as her parents walked tentatively into the cool water.
Michelle doggy-paddled over to Stanley, while Lefou - clad in a pair of heinously neon swim trunks - made his way to where Barney and Charlotte were wading.
“It’s humid in here,” He commented, already beginning to sweat.
“That's because you still have a shirt on, Papa,” Barney said. “Are you afraid of getting sunburned inside?”
If Barney didn't know any better, he would say Lefou was turning a little pink in the face. “Maybe if your father hadn't…”
Lefou cleared his throat, muttering something about his anniversary, and Barney tried not to imagine why he kept pulling his neckline a little higher, and why Stanley kept throwing mischievous glances in their direction.
Charlotte snorted, her laugh echoing through the high ceiling.
It was late on their final day of vacation, and Charlotte was sitting in her wheelchair, Michelle asleep in her lap. While she didn't want the week to end, she was exhausted, and couldn't wait to tell her mother all about her trip - and to sleep in her own bed again.
Barney was revoked of his wheelchair-pushing rights after he rammed into Gaston’s ankles three consecutive times, and Lefou had taken over, while his son followed sleepily behind.
The parade was enchanting as ever, and now they were all gathered around a garbage can in their matching Mickey ears, while they waited for the fireworks to start.
“You wanna see the fireworks, Michelle?” Charlotte asked, adjusting the girl in her lap.
Michelle mumbled something unintelligible and nuzzled her face further against Charlotte’s shoulder. Charlotte supposed they had already seen them a few times.
… and yet, they never seemed to get old.
Her father always told her the fireworks were his favorite part of the day, and Charlotte now understood why. She watched in awe as bright colors exploded over the sky and reflected on that beautiful castle, all while her favorite Disney songs played behind them. The first night they’d seen them, she cried… and she thought she might again tonight as a final farewell.
The song faded into “You’ll Be in My Heart”, and she was certain she heard Lefou sniffle behind her. That song always seemed to make him emotional for some reason.
Charlotte hugged Michelle a little tighter as the finale blasted, and she heard the ooh’s and ahh’s of the people around them, and thought she might have let one out herself. She couldn't help it.
The crowd erupted into applause, and Charlotte contributed the best she could with her sister constricting her arm movement.
“I’ll never get tired of that,” Lefou commented, as they followed the funnel of people out of the park one last time.
“It’s really beautiful,” Charlotte agreed, while Barney only yawned impressively. Their trip had apparently worn him out just as much as it did herself.
“But,” Stanley leaned down and lifted Michelle out of Charlotte’s chair, and onto his shoulder. “I still wish I could figure out who that princess in the yellow dress was!”
Charlotte smiled to herself, choosing not to say a word. She supposed he would figure it out on his own eventually.

Recent Frugalities and Bargain Finds
My lifestyle is a mix of frugal and not-so-frugal living. I’ve had lots of experience getting by on very little, and don’t want to spend money foolishly. But I do spend more money than most people would on certain things. A long-time friend who often blogs about her thriftiness would be shocked if she ever found out what I pay to put art into archival (museum quality) mats and frames. Not that I frame things all of the time, but it is a big purchase when I do. I value art and want to protect, preserve, and enjoy it.
I noticed a long time ago the practice of selective extravagance is very common. A woman I worked for years ago economized a lot, down to using a clothesline instead of a machine dryer. (Pretty impressive for someone with a demanding job running a marketing department.) When she had a formal occasion to attend, she borrowed a dress from her clotheshorse sister. But she got herself a Starbucks coffee each day. That was her little splurge, and she still met her economic goals. She sent her children to expensive private schools and then to big-name colleges, and planned her retirement.
Here are a few bargain finds and a frugal measure of mine from the past month.
After my joyful birthday celebration the last weekend in May, I promptly came down with a bad cold. I had some small orange juice containers from our trip, which I carefully washed in very hot water so I could take orange juice with me to work. It was much cheaper than buying more individual serving-size bottles.
I paid a total of forty-six cents for this set of three clear Pyrex refrigerator storage containers with plastic lids, and the corn stripper, which will be handy for blanching and freezing corn later in the summer, when corn is very cheap. There’s an excellent Macy’s Home Store near my workplace, and I had twenty Macy’s Reward dollars that were about to expire, so I happily used them to get these practical items that were already on sale. The total was $20.46. Today after work I went by another Macy’s and paid my bill of forty-six cents.
I just got back from a trip to Oklahoma (more about that soon), where I found two informal hats that will help me keep the sun out of my eyes and off of my pale face this summer. The blue and white striped hat cost one dollar plus tax. It will coordinate well with a patriotic red, white, and blue Mickey and Minnie Mouse top I bought at Disney Resort during my birthday weekend, plus other casual outfits. The tan hat with white lace, from the same clearance rack, was two dollars plus tax.
This was fun.

Sitting in my bedroom staring out the window watching the rain pour down as it has been all week here in what most call “sunny” Florida. The irony in that it rains quit a bit over the Summer. Listening to one of my favorite Musicals/Soundtracks, wearing some of my favorite Broadway Attire that I have purchased attending some of my favorite shows and just reflecting on what has gone on since I last sat down and written a post on this blog (August 2019). Almost one year since I took the time to write out my birthday experience and NYC trip I had last March (2019) which I now realize would be the last travel experience I had since everything has gone on this March (2020). Wow. that is really crazy to think about. March, being my Birthday month, I had plans to go to Disney to celebrate ON my actual Birthday (March 28th) which was quickly changed after COVID-19 started making its way around in March and everything was shutdown, including all theatre (Broadway, Tours, Local Theatres etc.). Around March 13th, Broadway announced their shutdown until at least April. We didn’t really go anywhere for the weeks leading up to my birthday. On my actual birthday we ended up staying in and just spending time with my parents and family who I live with (blessed to have been able to be around them at this time). My mom and I always shared a birthday month and my dad was not far off early April. At first I think many, including me, only thought it would a short temporary break from everything and not thinking much of it. Thinking back to December... right around the week of Christmas I had ended up with an on and off fever everyday for a week and along with that came a what felt like a never ending dry cough. I rarely have any respiratory issues but as you may know have other health related challenges I deal with everyday. We actually had family visiting that whole week I wasn’t feeling well, which I felt so exhausted but we rarely see them so I made the best of it and tried to enjoy them and also keeping my distance. the day they arrived drove to visit my grandma (my dad’s mom) who wasn’t doing so well herself and was in her early 90′s. She was always so healthy this just came out of nowhere and she was not getting any better. The day my family left a few days after Christmas, is when my mom started not to feel well and she had the same symptoms. Actually I woke up one morning to her sitting up on the couch and she had told me she slept there all night because she woke up not being able to breathe with my dad having to help her. It was for sure a scary moment. Soon after my family left, we had gotten a call and my grandma had passed away...It is definitely an interesting and empty feeling when you realize you have no one to call grandma anymore. My Nanny (my mom’s mom) had passed in 2015 after battling Alzheimer’s. Thinking back now definitely feel like COVID-19 could have been around a lot longer than just March that’s for sure. After all this happening in December, all hopes for a better 2020 was for sure on my mind.
In January, I took my sister to see The Musical Aladdin in Tampa at The Straz Center (was her Christmas gift). We had a wonderful time and got to reconnect with an old friend I used to dance with at the same studio. I have two sisters and normally don’t get to see them much (one lives out of state). My sister in Orlando is the one who I went with and was so special because rarely do we ever spend time together alone. The carpet ride in the show is by far probably one of my favorite moments that has stood out from any theatre show I have seen. By the end of January, there was one moment I was waiting for since I would say October 2019 when we purchased tickets to see The Waitress National Tour. I had seen the 1st National Tour in Tampa with my cousin awhile back in April 2018 and fell in love with the musical and the music by the amazing Sara Bareilles and just knew I wanted to introduce my mom to the show. My mom rarely attends theatre unless I really mention a show so much she decides to go to keep me quiet LOL. So as part of my Christmas gift, we had planned to see Waitress together. On January 23rd 2020, my mom and I headed to theatre after picking up our tickets the day before. RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida is where we ended up. Flash back to March 2019 when I had saw a show there for the first time (since we moved only 15mins from this theatre) which usually from Tampa we are about one hour. I remember them listing the shows for the next season and hearing Waitress, I jumped out of my seat and kind of made a fool of myself sitting next to random fellow theatre fans (attending a show on my own) and just so happy and smiling so big about this knowing I would be able to see Waitress again and introduce this beautiful show to my mom. Flash forward to that night January 23rd. First time my mom was in this theatre (near our new home) and it had been a year since we went to see a show together, we saw “Anastasia: The Musical” on Tour in Tampa in April 2019 which was wonderful. Back to Waitress... My mom and I were in the the fourth row I believe all the way to the right of the theatre. They were wonderful seats and to see a brand new cast take on this incredible show was so beautiful. Enjoying our pies we bought, sitting together and seeing my mom was enjoying the show just as much as I was. Now this theatre is a little different and the show was only going to be here for the one night, and we took it all in. After the show, even though they didn’t have much time the wonderful cast came out the stage door and greeted every fan that was there to see if they would be able to get a chance to say a quick hi to some of the cast. I walked up to the little one Adriana who was touring with the cast for certain performances and chatted with her and her mom for a quick moment. I was a bit hesitant to walk up to some of the older cast members of the show (not the most comfortable making conversation with anyone new...) but little by little I did say hi and the last person I had gotten the courage to go up to was Bailey McCall, who was the current “Jenna” of the show and tour. I quickly said hi to Bailey and took a quick photo with her. What I would have said to Bailey if I had the courage to that night: Bailey truly took the role of “Jenna” and made it her own. The connection between her and the audience was unbelievable. The raw emotion Bailey put into her role was seen from the very first moment. I knew they had to get going pretty quickly but the whole cast stayed out as long as they were able and were so generous with their time.
Come February. The first weekend we ended up flying to New York for my grandma who had recently passed and there only three nights... that Sunday before had left I decided to head into NYC alone to see The Musical Frozen for a second time to see some of the young talented kids in the show who I had been talking with for a few years. Suri Marrero (”Young Elsa”), one of the girls in the show had invited me to meet with her after the show and I had ended up seeing Fiona (”Young Anna”) who had performed with Suri that night. What a wonderful memory from that night and to think back now my last professional theatre show I would see most likely for awhile (most likely one year at least).
Ok so flash forward to end of March after my birthday... Things seemed to be getting worse by the day and being kind of told to stay in until further notice was at first not bothered by it much, but as everyday seemed to get longer and longer and the days just going by I felt like I for sure needed to start some sort of routine or something to keep me going. Especially since all photoshoots and anything related outside physically to my magazine was put to a hault like everything else. I didn’t realize how much I have missed taking photos and photography since I had stopped. When I first started my magazine, I had relied on someone else to help with photos and slowly little by little I had started doing my own photoshoots especially locally here in Florida. I decided to put out a submission request to have talent from anywhere out of state of Florida to submit their story for me to feature them on the cover (starting in April), which normally I do not do and have a separate spotlight and page I use to feature talent (as most who I feature on cover I usually meet in person and get to know them before doing anything.) So already I was adapting to something new. As the days went on, I came across a Disney Animator, Michael Woodside, who started posting how to draw videos of Disney characters. Every week day he would draw a new character. I don’t think at first I felt like I would enjoy it or let alone even draw anything close to a Disney character especially since I had tried it at Disney World (live) and didn’t even come close. It all starts with a circle. Really. I started with Mickey and ended with Minnie. Looking back I can tell and see how much I had improved since day one. He then took a break so I haven’t really drawn much lately, but I hope to get back to it soon. As I started taking on these drawings... come beginning of April and Broadway and theatre extended their shutdown and I just knew this was just not something that was going to go away anytime soon. I didn’t realize how much theatre has had an impact me in the last few years. Long story short, I didn’t really see my first professional theatre show until I was 19 in California, at a camp for girls with Turner Syndrome (19 was my last year and chance to attend the camp). They ended up taking us to see Wicked (2007) at The Pantages Theatre. Megan Hilty (”Glinda”) and Eden Espinosa (”Elphaba”) were incredible. That was the first time I was introduced to theatre physically (first time was Legally Blonde with Laura Bell Bundy on TV for an assignment in college). And my first professional show on Broadway was even later in 2015. Being born in Florida, it was for sure not often I saw any shows but I think all of this being introduced later and closer to my 20s makes me appreciate it even more. Also had found out Frozen would not be coming back to Broadway when everything settled and shows opened up. I was devastated and had a little cry but realizing afterwards how my last professional theatre show I had seen before this all started was Frozen on Broadway... that night now means more to me than I ever thought it would. I felt like I just wanted to help everyone in the theatre community from the talent on stage to those behind and in front of the stage and all around it. What could I do to help? Really at home? I was missing theatre and music so much and I would say every single person whether they realize it or not, has used music, theatre or something related that has helped them through tough times and not being able to go out for the little things and so much we take for granted this time at home has and still has made me think a lot. Being able to attend theatre is a privilege and is not something that anyone can just do. I have been blessed to be able to see various tours around and so grateful to have family still living in New York that I can stay with when I feel like I am missing theatre and New York. Not knowing when all of this would settle and things would be safe enough to even go out in general let alone see any shows wherever they might be was for sure hard to grasp. I had saw something that inspired me to try to help raise awareness and funds for an organization that helps those in theatre/arts and really anyone in Entertainment throughout their lifespan, The Actors Fund. Virtual Concerts and meetings had just started getting around and was something I saw an opportunity to try and use my platform and my online magazine to help and at the same time bring music and theatre to anyone around the world. What technology can do these days, is for sure something we also use for so many things but leaves such a huge opportunity to use our voice and platforms for good. I would say at first, it took me a good minute to figure out how I would go about this. Instagram was the app I was most familiar with and have seen many go live (video) before but rarely used it as again I am not the most comfortable in front of a camera or talking much. If I did go live it was to showcase the talent I was featuring and only focused on them. This was all so new to me, and something I was at first really hesitant about. I just still knew I needed to do something to help the theatre community. I thought about an all day concert and music on Instagram Live and to fit in as much talent as I could maybe just a short 10-15min time slot for each talent to perform one song and answer a quick question or two for everyone to get to know them a little. I started mentioning it to a few talent I had connected with through my online magazine and who I had previously seen on National Tours/Broadway etc. to even see if any of them would be be willing to lend their voice and take the time to do this during this time. I think one of the first few I had connected with was Bailey McCall and David Socolar who I had recently seen perfrom from the latest Waitress National Tour. Bailey and David were so sweet and so supportive and were for sure willing to join the concert. The first one was set for Saturday, April 18th. It all came full circle when I was able to connect with Christy Altomare (who I had seen perform twice on Broadway and had sang me Happy Birthday on my last trip to NYC) and she had said she would be able to perform at the concert. Arielle Jacobs (most recently came off of Broadway as “Jasmine” from Aladdin) had mentioned sending in a Press Release to Broadway World and so from there, the concert was well on its way to happening. Flash forward to the day before the concert I was all set and ready for the next day but also really nervous. The anticipation for sure had taken over with it all being so new and not knowing what to really expect. Re connecting with so many I had met and meeting a few for the very first time (I had been speaking online to for years). I just kept telling myself it was all for a great cause. Now at the time, Instagram didn’t have a Donate Button available during the live videos at the bottom of the screen while everyone is watching, but that had changed later on after the first concert. I was able to put the button in the story but overall the first concert was a success. I ended up in my room all day (and had so many who were able to participate) I didn’t really even have much time to eat. It was such a fun day of music and I would say the second it was over, I had this odd feeling inside of me. Not sure what exactly it was, but the big question was was I going to continue this once a month or just let the one month go as planned? Nothing was certain about the outside world and what was going on, and I decided that continuing the concerts once a month for The Actors Fund would be something that everyone could rely on and look forward to while everything else was at a stand still. I think consistency and routine is something every person needs especially right now. Working out a few little technical difficulties here within the first few concerts has for sure given me some challenges but overall, working on planning our 5th Concert now for August 22nd and it for sure won’t be one to miss. I cannot believe it is almost August already. Being so hesitant at first about these concerts and knowing I am not really one to make conversation or feel like it is easy for me (As you can see I am more of a writer than speaker) I have to say I didn’t realize how much these concerts have had a major impact on me personally. Mentally, at first not knowing what to really do with this time at home and being in one place for long period of time not knowing when this will all settle for sure has gotten to me... but planning these concerts has kept my mind busy and what a blessing it has been to be able to still focus on something I am so passionate about theatre and my magazine while being at home. Keeping me busy each and everyday and the consistency for sure has helped. I am always thinking of something more and what I can do to help others and to make each concert even better bringing those all around to one place. I do not know what the rest of the year 2020 holds but I do know that when theatre comes back it will be stronger than ever and the first show that I see (and anyone who is able to) will be one to remember. I for sure know there will be happy tears (from me) the first show I see out of this. For those in theatre and anyone that works beyond the stage my heart is with all of you each and everyday. Attending a show at any theatre in the near future I sure hope is not taken for granted. I for sure know that I will taking in every moment of the experience like it is my last. I know that may seem a bit harsh but even in life live everyday with no regrets. Do what makes you happy and never take the little things for granted. The past few months have taught me so much.

Alright so this isn’t exactly the request, but I went with the prank theme... so here it goes @mycapt-ohcapt
If you aren’t familiar with my Chris Evans x OFC (Nikki Evans) pairing, you can check out their Adventures in Parenting masterlist over on my @beccaheartschrisevans writing blog.
Title: Surprising Dad
Pairing: Chris Evans x Nikki Evans (OFC)

June 8, 2026
Nikki and the kids (Josh, almost 13, Aiden, 11, Rachel almost 9, and Charlotte, 5) sat on the couch waiting for the video chat with Chris to connect.
“DAD!” the kids chorused when his face finally appeared.
“Hey guys,” Chris replied, smiling at his family.
He spent the next couple minutes catching up with each kid in turn, it was Rachel, however, that turned the tables on him.
“When are you coming home, daddy?” Rachel asked. “Our birthday is this weekend.”
“I know,” Chris sighed. He had been hoped that none of them would ask, but it was time to fess up. “I won’t be home for a couple weeks.” The kids’ upset outbursts echoed through the speakers of his tablet, but neither he or Nikki attempted to quiet them, they were just as disappointed. “It sucks, I know, but I’ll be home soon.” Glancing down at his watch, he frowned. “I’ve got to go, I’ll call you guys tomorrow.”
“Bye, dad,” the kids said, solemnly.
Once Chris’s face disappeared from the TV, Rachel turned to her mom and said, “Mom, Dad and I celebrate our birthdays together every year! We can’t celebrate without him!”
“I know, Rachel,” Nikki said. “I don’t like it any better -”
“Why can’t we go surprise dad?” Josh asked. “Dad’s rich, we can afford to go.”
“Mommy’s rich, too,” Charlotte stated, her little arms wrapped around Nikki’s thigh.
“Only because she married dad,” Aiden told his little sister.
“Ok, ok,” Nikki interrupted, holding her hands up to end the conversation. “You guys get out of school for the summer on Thursday. So I will look into us leaving Friday morning so we can surprise dad.”
The kids cheered.
“But,” Nikki said, raising her voice. “I will need all of your help getting ready to go, more help around the house and all of you on your best behavior.” She looked pointedly at Josh and Aiden.
Later that night, after the kids were in bed, Nikki called Chris.
“Did they buy it?” he asked.
“Hook, line and sinker,” she replied with a laugh. “We’ll see you on Friday.”
Friday morning, Nikki herded her kids onto a private plane after saying goodbye to her mom, who had drive them to the airport. Once they were in the air, the kids stayed playing with the electronics while she accepted a mimosa from one of the flight attendants.
As they neared their destination, the captain came over the loudspeaker to announce they were going to in the next thirty minutes as well as to ask them to close their window shades.
The kids protested the request, at first, but Nikki gave them that look and they quickly obeyed. She then asked them to put all of their devices away and to prepare for getting off the plane.
A short while later, the plane had touched down and was being taxied off the runway and to one of the loading areas. Since the kids were all seasoned flyers, they didn’t move from their seats until they were given the ok by the pilot.
Once everyone had their luggage, Nikki gave the ok for them to disembark from the plane. She let Josh lead his younger siblings down the stairs while she followed, secretly recording the kids as she did so.
Josh was the first to shout “DAD!” upon reaching the tarmac. His siblings quickly ran down the rest of the steps and Nikki walked quickly to keep up with them as they ran towards their dad who was standing nearby.
Nikki recorded the kids and Chris greeting each other and him telling them that the whole family was going to spend the next week at Disney World. The kids shrieked with excitement that only got louder when Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy made a surprise appearance.
As the kids ran to greet the characters, Nikki finished recording and finally got a hello from Chris. It was as they were smooching that Rachel put everything together.
“Wait a minute!” she exclaimed. “Dad! How’d you know we were here? It was supposed to be a surprise.” She narrowed her eyes at her parents. “Unless you two were messing with us the whole time!”
“I am offended that you think we would mess with you guys,” Chris replied, putting his hand to his chest dramatically.
“They were totally messing with us,” Josh confirmed.
“We can refuel the plane and go home,” Nikki offered.
“Heck no!” Aiden exclaimed. “We’re going to Disney World!”
“That’s what I thought,” Nikki said, laughing. “Now, who’s ready to get in the car and go to Disney World!”
"Can Mickie and Minnie come too?” Charlotte asked.
“Who do you think drove me here?” Chris asked his youngest as he scooped her into his arms. “Though, I don’t think we should let Goofy drive again. That was scary.”
The four Disney characters let the Evans’ to the transport van provided by the park. None of them knew what to expect for the first week of summer vacation, but they knew it would be fun.
